The Rapid Evolution Of Health Care
The Stand Alone ER The Rapid Evolution of Health Care By Steve Okhravi, MD, MBA, CPE July 16,
2012 Emergency care in the US is at a breaking point. Per data from The Institute of Medicine, over
1000 hospitals closed in the past few years because of the enormous cost associated with operation.
There has been an increase in the number of visits to emergency rooms (ERs) to more than 120
million mostly due to those who are uninsured who, as a result, have a lack of access to primary care.
As the number of those who are uninsured grows because of the recession so, too, does the community
who turns to ER services for their health care needs. Clearly, ER provides a safety net for the
medically underserved. With the passage of the healthcare law, the shortage of primary care resources
will be more noticeable. And, that means people will resort to ERs to seek care since they cannot
access their doctors after usual office hours, on weekends or during holidays. In mid year 2012, there
is currently a shortage of 150,000 primary care physicians. And, by 2020, it is projected there will be
an additional 50,000 PC physician shortage. There are about 4,600 ERs nationwide and the numbers
are decreasing. Overcrowded and slow ERs are symptoms of deeper problems in our health care
system. The American College of Emergency Physicians recently gave the nation s ER system a D
rating for access of care and C overall. Stand Alone emergency rooms are like an ER whereby you are

Local sunflower seed ranges between 500 000 to 700 000 tons (according to sunflower production
guideline of March 2010 of South Africa), and it is increasing rapidly as the production also increases.
The fluctuations in sunflower production are mostly or mainly caused by uncertain price expectations,

Igor Stravinsky, a Russian Composer
Igor Stravinsky is known as one of the most important and influential composers of the twentieth
century. Igor was born in Lomonosow, Russia on June 17, 1882 to Anna Kholodovsky and Fyodor
Stravinsky. When Stravinsky was only three he witnessed a musician at a Russian fair singing,
clicking his tongue, and making armpit noises. Igor was so excited to go try it at home. This was one
of Stravinsky s first memory of music. Igor s childhood was not a good memory for him. He felt hated
and neglected. Igor recalled that his schooldays no one had real attraction for him and he was always
lonely. The only thing that got him through it was music and his piano lessons. In 1890, Igor heard his
first orchestral performance The Sleeping Beauty. He was awestruck at the grace of the piece. That
performance fueled his interest in music even more. When he was fifteen, he had mastered
Mendelssohn s Piano Concerto in G minor. Stravinsky also finished a piano reduction of a string
quartet by Glazunov, who allegedly thought that Igor was unmusical and considered him to have poor
skills. His parents saw how much he loved music but didn t want him to pursue it as a job. They
enrolled him in the University of Saint Petersburg in 1901. Stravinsky was told to become a lawyer.
Vladimir Rimsky Korsakov, son of composer Nikolai Rimsky Korakove, was a fellow student at Saint
Petersburg. Igor s father died in 1902. His death was a major cause for Stravinsky to become more

Variable Pay
Abstract
The main two reasons for the companies to implement variable pay plan are: motivating employees
and reducing cost. In this paper we try to point out the challenges the organizations might face when
they apply variable pay system by reviewing related literature. We find that it is difficult for the
company to have a reliable measure for the variable pay system. In addition, the focus of the variable
pay plan should be on motivating employees or cutting cost and how to strike a balance between these
two is also an essential issue. Finally we conclude that we always have to assess the circumstances of
the organization before applying the plan.

Besides, Jessica and Kathy (2004) also stated that 63% of those companies which have variable
compensation plan believe that the benefits of the plan outweigh the costs. What is more, 57% of
those companies had unexpected favorable results such as increased productivity.
Challenges of using variable pay However, it is not easy for an organization to apply a variable pay
program. Like John Traci (2004) stated in their article that if the companies do not manage variable
pay plan effectively, the outcome could be less than stellar. There are several concerns for the
organization to think about. Thomas (2003) suggested that first concern is about the performance
measures. It is difficult
Variable Pay Plan 6 for many jobs to measure performance in an objective and reliable manner.
Second issue is the general rejection to variable plans because of having previous bad experiences.
This is also mentioned by Paul (2007) that variable pay received bad reputation because of many
companies bad experiences when they failed to have supporting information or they had other
organizational problems which need to be emphasized. The third issue is that the employees may feel
the performance measures are not in control or their suggestions are not taken by the organization. The
last one concern is that employees will fix on earning their variable pay and they will not make
changes or take actions that are not related to the goals of

The meeting was called to order and a Roll Call of Council Members taken, presumably to determine
the presence of a quorum of Council. What was the purpose for the Roll Call if this was a unit owners
meeting? The meeting then proceeded with discussions of the HVAC phase 3 upgrade cost ($94,880)
and the elevator engineer phase 1 and 2 costs, $4,662 and $8,609 respectively. With respect to each
separate item motions were made, seconded and passed by Council to authorize these expenditures. At
no time was input on these motions sought from homeowners.
Next, some comments were made about the townhouse roofs but no action was taken. Recollection is
that the agenda topic Ongoing Assessment was not addressed or reported. Finally, a presentation of a
proposed budget , approval of which cannot be documented in posted Council meeting minutes, was

The Discovery Of The Dinosaur
Zhenyuanlong Suni was dinosaur that was officially announced on July 2015 when the official
scientific report (written by the paleontologist who studied it) was published. The dinosaur was given
it s name after Zhenyuan Sun who took it s fossils for a deep study upon being discovered by a local
farmer. The fossils were taken to Jinzhou Paleontological Museum by Zhenyuan Sun for further
examination. The specimen was further studied by paleontologists Stephen Brusatte of the University
of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom and Lü Junchang of the Chinese Academy of Geological
Sciences in Beijing. According to researchers Zhenyuanlong Suni is the largest winged dinosaur to be
discovered so far, and it was known to be carnivorous. In this paper we will examine the time period
which it lived, the climate and the area, and finally it s unique anatomical features.
Based on the researches and labs results, it is determined that Zhenyuanlong Suni lived in the
Mesozoic Era. This is one of the newest species of dinosaur that had been recovered. Its fossils was
estimated to be at around 125 to 130 million years old. This bring us to a conclusion that
Zhenyuanlong Suni exist during the Barremian Stage of the Early Cretaceous Period. Zhenyuanlong
Suni was among the many other reptile and dinosaur fossils in the Yixian formation.

National Health Care Plan
National Health Care Plan
The original goal of the National Health Care Plan is to make coverage more secure for those that
have insurance and extend affordable coverage to the uninsured. This should lead to improved
healthcare quality and patient safety. Also, emphasize primary and preventive care linked with
community prevention services. Further, it is designed to reduce the growth of health care costs while
promoting high value, effective care. Ensuring access to quality, culturally competent care, including
long term services and supports for vulnerable populations and improved health care and population
health through meaningful use health information technology.
On March 23, 2010 the Affordable care act was created to make health care more affordable and easily
accessible to a wider range of Americans. The act puts individuals, small businesses, and families in
more control of their health care. This plan makes it so the individual has to pay out of pocket

Persuasive Essay On Pan Handlers
When Alexandar Welcott invented the first camera he wouldn t have imagines the toll it would take on
today s world. The follow up video on pan handlers should be done more often to expose the real
picture. Over the years pan handling has become a very convenient profession and source of income
for many people. It not only helps them live a good life but keeps no track of their income or
activities. Expert pan handlers know very well how to grab the crowd attention and win sympathy that
will force everyone to look for a dollar or sometimes maybe five dollars. But the question of who to
help and who to avoid still remains a mystery for the public. It is nearly impossible to tell if someone
legitimately needs help or if they are making panhandling their daily job. You have to decide whether
you are comfortable giving money regardless of how the person spends it, or if you would rather give

The Trans Oceanic Movement Of People Of The Pacific
As we have learned throughout our semester from the many coursework assigned, we know the trans
oceanic movement of people of the Pacific coordinates hand in hand with native and settlers
sexualities. We learned that the through past and current colonization, the Pacific has been
conceptualized from Euro Americans. As far as literacy, visual, and audiovisual from the media has
helped create a representations of how the rest of the world acknowledge the Pacific. Through, the
countless articles, textbook readings, and movies we have watched this semester I have realized that I
am a bit sadden by how non native people can create a representation of a culture when they know

Both movies shows how non native people coming to the Pacific islands and instead of trying to
understand and learn one s culture. In Mutiny of the Bounty, the European s men once discovered
Tahiti, but they weren t just captivated by the beauty of the island they were captivated by the sexality
and beauty of the women there. You can see in the movie that Tahiti was filled with beautiful, tanned
skinned, and minimal clothed women. The sexual desire the European men got from these women for
their sex appeals lead the main character Christian and another fellow sailor to create a mutiny against
their hated Captain (Mutiny on the Bounty). One thing that I also remembered from the movie was the
way they communicated. Since they both had completely different language, they somehow spoke
their own language to each other and still understood it. In the movie, you also see that the ship
captain Bligh got offered the Breadfruit plant from the island s chief (Mutiny on the Bounty). The
captain tried to take it back home hoping for future profit, he even went to the extent to stop allowing
the mates on the ship to drink water just so he could give it to the plants instead (Mutiny on the
Bounty). You see how colonization and sexuality played a huge role in this movie just by those two

West Caribbean Airways Flight Analysis Essay
In the early hours of the morning on Tuesday, August 16th 2005, West Caribbean Airways Flight 708
was a West Caribbean Airways charter flight which crashed in a mountainous region of northwest
Venezuela. With eight crew members and 152 passengers the McDonnell Douglas MD 80 departed
Tocumen International Airport (PTY) in Panama City, Panama and headed to Martinique Aimé
Césaire International Airport (FDF) in Fort de France, Martinique, France. After initially climbing to
FL310, and subsequently to FL330 to level off, the Captain of the aircraft noticed the engines sounded
abnormal. Reacting to sounds of the engines, the Captain began to take corrective actions to correct
the problem, by starting a rapid descent as a precaution. The time from the initial radio call from the
first officer declaring engine problems to the subsequent crash took only 9:00 minutes. This research
paper will delve into the chain of mistakes that were made in order for this terrible accident to have
occured.
Background In 1998 the charter service West Caribbean Airways was started in Medellín, Columbia
by company founder Hassan Tannir. The organization focused flights primarily in Central America,
part of the mainland of Colombia, and San Andrés in the Caribbean. It operates largely domestic
services, and its main base of operations are out of Olaya Herrera Airport (EOH), Medellín. West

Enterobacter Aerogenes Research Paper
Enterobacter aerogenes is a species of rod shaped gram negative bacterium in the family of
enterobacteriaceae. It is a facultative anaerobe, meaning that it can grow in either the presence of
oxygen or in the absence of oxygen. It also uses fermentation as the means of gathering energy that
protect it from reative oxygen species, and allowing it to live in oxygenated environments.
Enterobacter aerogenes is a nosocomial and pathogenic bacterium that cause opportunistic infections.
The majority are sensitive to most antibiotics designed for this bacteria class, but it can be complicated
due to their resistance mechanism such as lactamas, which quickly become resistant to standard
antibiotics during the treatment. Enterobacter aerogenes is found in human gastrointestinal tract, and it
does not generally cause disease in healthy individuals. It has been found to live in ... Show more

Enterobacter aerogenes have been found to produce a greater amount of bioethanol due to a process
called metabolism (ScienceDirect). Many Enterobacter aerogenes have flagella, and thus motility, that
distinguish them from Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria (Kara, 2016). Traditional approaches for
treating Enterobacter infections involve single agent antimicrobial therapy such as an aminoglycoside,
a fluoroquinolone, and a cephalosporin. However, newer theories have adopted combination therapy
employing multiple antibiotics with different core structure. In some Enterobacter aerogenes resistant
to aminoglycoside, resistance has been associated with a bacterial genetic element known as integron.
Integrons contain genes that confer antibiotic resistance capabilities and its incorporated into bacteria
genomes via genetic recombination (Kara, 2016). Finally, we have learned that Enterobacter
aerogenes have some positive and negatives implications on human

How The Great Depression Affected Germany
Germany s economic troubles only increased during the period known as the Great Depression. The
Great Depression weakened economies worldwide and caused massive unemployment rates (Castillo,
German economy in the 1920s). The Depression put millions of people out of jobs which led to
thousands of being left on the streets to starve (Goldstein 7). According to John Maynard Keynes, a
European economist, the Great Depression was the greatest economic catastrophe... of the modern
world (Flagel 25). While the Great Depression affected multiple countries around the world, no
country was hit as hard as Germany (Callery 16; Dowsewll 20). The Great Depression affected
Germany the most for multiple reasons. The first reason why Germany was affected the most by the
Great Depression was because of the tariffs imposed on Germany (Castillo, German economy in the

The American Of New Canada
Welcome good friend to the brand new state of New Canada! What once was a corrupt country north
of the center of the world (U.S.) is now the 55th state to the American Empire. The year is 2050, and
almost five years since the ending of the Third World War. Five years post war and civilization is still
in a state of recovery, which is why we bring Americans a piece of the past and a bit of familiarity
with the grand opening of New Canada s capitol building. We do this to honor the fallen and help
Canadians assimilate into American Culture.
New Canada is a shell of what it used to be before its great depression and eventually WWIII. The
Canadian depression started in 2033 with what historians are now calling The Great Sellout.
Historians have no idea what initially caused it, but the act was that all businesses in Canada relocated
and outsourced to foreign countries leaving millions of Canadian citizens unemployed and Canada
without industry. Canada suffered the largest deficit ever to be had by a country at the time and the
record only grew higher every year after. In its desperation, Canada sold itself out to China in 2039 in
an attempt to improve the lives of its citizens. China took over what used to be car factories and turned
them into weapon manufacturers. Only one year after the colonization of Canada, China invaded the
U.S.
WWIII lasted for five years, ending in 2055 with the U.S. now having control over China and part of
Russia, Ukraine, and Japan. These four

The Between Nazis And The German Jews
Whether it is turning off one s alarm and getting off of one s bed, making breakfast, taking the bus to
school, tying one s shoes, or sitting down in the same room for the same class at the same time, all of
these are examples of rituals in day to day life. Different people have different interpretations of what
the word ritual exactly means. A particular film, the likes of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas conveys
many of these meanings; analyzing the characters in this story, more specifically the contrast between
the Nazis and the German Jews, their personality can be sufficiently explained via Malory Nye s
theory regarding symbolism in ritual, Emile Durkheim s idea of ritual as being a society based action,
Harvey Whitehouse s thought about the relationship between ritual and memory, and Nye s perception
of ritual as being a means of attaining power. Pulling these theories together, the message in this film
becomes, as commonly stated: what comes around goes around, and as such, regardless of another
person s belief, one should not discriminate against that person based on their beliefs and values.
Throughout the film, it is the Jewish Germans who are dressed with the striped pyjamas in the movie
of discussion. And with deliberate reason. As such, it is not surprising that Nye has developed a theory
of ritual which he labels as being a symbolist approach to religion and ritual . Delving deeper, what
Nye tries to argue is that the importance and significance of

Chapter 2 Of The Annual Shape Trip-Personal Narrative
It was day 2 of the annual canoe trip that my Boy Scout troop goes on. I was in a kayak because of a

wood to start a fire with, and the adults began to fix breakfast and their morning cup of coffee. After
the boys had gathered enough wood for a fire, and the adults had breakfast prepared to be cooked, the
scouts constructed a roaring fire for everyone to cook their food over. Breakfast was set to be fish.
Since we were without any electronics or cooking devices, we made hobo packs, which consisted of
putting all of our food in an aluminum foil wrap and heating it. The painstaking wait was over, and we

Female Issues Affecting The Indian Society Essay
Abstract
The age old problem of female related issues affecting the Indian society adversely continues to exist
today in the 21st century. The advancement of new age, technology, scientific inventions, standard of
life, and change in life style has failed to bring in change of the mindset. The problem of female
infanticide in India seems to be persistent. The alarming records collected by local, regional, national
and international bodies only reflect the drastic decline in the male female ratio. The matter is of
serious concern and what is required is not only law but the change that each one has to bring in
understanding that when Nature was impartial in evolving man and woman, why has the society then
brought about gender discrimination.
This paper is an attempt to discuss the present and future repercussions faced due to female
infanticide. Since the society is reflected through literature, art and fiction, the writer has made an
attempt to make a journey of today s reality through Sujata Bhatt s poem Voice of the Unwanted Girl
and Manish Jha s motion picture, Matrubhoomi: A Nation Without Women that is set in the 2050s.

Archaeological Synthesis Of Stonehenge And Ale s Stones Site

Archaeological Synthesis of Stonehenge and Ale s Stones Site The Bronze age of Scandinavia, taking

early Scandinavian and Baltic region practiced an early burial structure that was shaped as a ship, or

considerably older than the antlers used to construct the ditch (Nils Axel 2012). While the ditch was
continuous, it was dug with antler picks in sections (similar to the discovered ditches of the earlier

diameter, and named Aubrey Holes due to the 17th century discoverer (Lawson 1997). It is plausible
that these pits may have held free standing timber (creating a timber circle) but not enough
archaeological/excavated material remains to say for sure. A recent archaeological excavation
proposes that these holes originally could have been used by the builders to erect a singular bluestone

The Threat Of Global Warming
We are paying the consequences from past generation s inability to make the right but hard choices, in
order to protect and preserve our environment. The NRDC website lists the top global warming
symptoms as melting glaciers, rising sea levels, severe weather patterns, the human health, and
wildlife. (Consequences of Global Warming). Drilling in ANWR would cause horrifying situations for
the wildlife ecosystem and inescapable affects on life in America and around the world, as we know it.

they revealed the astounding fact that, The Artic Refuge is the only conservation system unit that

of the caribou, it would disrupt and threaten the safety and, as Sarah emphasizes in her last statement,
herself and her villages existence. The abundance of wildlife within the diverse ANWR ecosystem is
the beating heart of our natural global environment, with an immeasurable amount of importance with
regards to our environments interconnectivity. With over 8 marine mammal species and 42 species of
fish, the robust ANWR ecosystem provides the uninterrupted conservation and preservation required
for these species spawning rituals, in order to maintain the fish population necessary for our mass
fishing industry, that we have become so accustomed to in the lower 48 (Inkley, Kolton, p. 8). An

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Jailbreak
Usually, when someone makes the jailbreak very first time to their device they do not really know
where and how to start. The jailbreak opens up a new world of possibilities where we can install
applications that are not accepted into the App Store and modify it at will by installing themes and
tweaks. We can eliminate the restrictions through jailbreak as it enables sending and receiving of files
via Bluetooth device though our contact is not an iPhone or vitaminar mail application. Jailbreak
permits root access to the iOS file system and manager, further allowing the download of additional
applications, extensions, and themes that are unavailable through the official Apple app store. It has
the property that if the user turns the device off and back on, the device will be patched without the
help of the computer. Hence, it enables the user to get the device boot up without using a computer.

St. Thomas More Discourse Community
Before delving into the the discourse community, it is essential to provided clarity for the term that is
used throughout: Discourse community. Discourse, according to James Paul Gee, I use the term
Discourse, with a capital D, for ways of combining and integrating language, actions, interactions,
ways of thinking, believing, valuing, and using various symbols, tools, and objects to enact a
particular sort of socially recognizable identity. (Gee, p. 441). With this, a Discourse community is a
group of people that embody language, actions, beliefs, symbols and so on. St. Thomas More parish is
one the Discourse community that will be examined.
Given that the term is defined, it is pertinent to review the details of the St. Thomas More ... Show

Otherwise, we have dogma, doctrines, and creeds that we also believe. (Kane). To someone outside of
the Catholic church, they would not hold the same beliefs to be true nor understand the reasons for
their belief. Nevertheless, these traditions have been passed down for generations and are still upheld
today. As Kane pointed out, Catholics believe that Holy Communion is the body and blood of Christ.
Having very traditional beliefs, the Catholic Church uses numerous different terms and practices that
are not familiar with non Catholics. Inside of the Discourse community, Catholics have set terms that
are used widely to discuss different matters. For instances, the term priest is used to describe what
others would typically call a pastor. In addition to the terms used, there are also rituals that are based
on their traditional beliefs. The most drastic of them would be the Eucharist. This tradition is referred
to by Catholics as Holy Communion and is referred to by protestants as The Lord s Supper. Meg Kane
described the differences by saying, Catholics actually believe that the Eucharist is the body and blood
of Christ. It has much more meaning behind it than other communion services. (Kane). Drastically
differing from other religions, Catholics believe that their priest was granted the ability by God to turn
the bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus Christ. Traditional values and the faith of
Catholics largely affects the Discourse community and

The Unknown Citizen Explication Essay

The Unknown Citizen
By W. H. Auden
Several conflicts are dramatized in The Unknown Citizen, the most prominent being: conformity of
the middle class, government manipulation, and the loss of individualism to the standards of an
average citizen. The speaker of this poem is non traditional as the poem is, in fact, an inscription on a
marble monument erected by the State. The inscription is dedicated to a JS/07 M 378 presumably, The
Unknown Citizen, although this term only appears in the title. The Unknown Citizen is essentially an
elegy, a lament for the dead, written by either a government official or a strong believer in the
government. This becomes clear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Among his praises, for example: When there was peace, he was for peace: when there was war, he
went (24). In this, it becomes clear to the reader that you do not want to be an average citizen; you do
not want this to be your elegy. Some critics argue this, however, as Auden stating that there is nothing
disgraceful in being unknown. The poem is, above all, a satire of the way conformity hinders the
individual and leaves ridiculous and solely external distinctions between human beings. Auden
presents an allegory in The Unknown Citizen that begins even before the poem itself. The phrase
Unknown Citizen appears only once in the title. This term is an immediate allusion to and parody of
the Unknown Soldier, especially considering the details of who the poem is dedicated to and the fact
that it is found on a marble monument, much like those one might expect to see in Washington, D.C.
where the United States is home to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The Unknown Solider is a
soldier who cannot be recognized after being found in battle. This sometimes controversial idea can be
interpreted to mean that many people die as unknowns because they lived uninfluential lives. Aside
from this large allegory, the poem uses only a few rhetorical devices. In line four, for example, ...in the
modern sense of an old fashioned word, he was a saint is quite an exaggeration because being one
against whom there was no official complaint is hardly saintly (2). Another

Fireflies By Yoko Ota Analysis
The dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August of 1945 had caused
substantial damage and countless of lives lost. People had continued to suffer, whether if it was from
radiation injuries or rebuilding their lives, even years after the tragic events. In Kenzaburo Oe s
anthology The Crazy Iris and Other Stories of the Atomic Aftermath, is comprised of short stories
written by people who experienced and witnessed the events. They retell of their actual experience or
re create the emotions and events of the unforgettable day. In the story Fireflies written by Yoko Ota,
she illuminates the lives of the people in Hiroshima seven years after the exploding of the atomic
bombs. She tells of the struggles her family is facing, as well as many others, and looks how the
horrific injuries caused by the radiation affected the lives of A bomb survivors. Through the use of
imagery, simile, and personification, Ota depicts people trying to rebuild their lives, the lasting
memory of the event, and long lasting effects of the bomb. Therefore, Ota illustrates the struggle
people went through in order to recover and rebuild their lives which was not easily or quickly done.
In her story, she uses her family to depict the difficulty that many faced. For example, Ota describes
the living conditions that her family, as well as many other survivors, lives in which is a makeshift

Various woks have been done on OFDM. In OFDM, as all the carriers are added using an IFFT

OFDM signal x (t), High value of PAPR is a serious concern when OFDM signal passes through
nonlinear devices such as in 4G systems where OFDM is a downlink method and on board high power
amplifiers have non linear input output characteristics at high power values.
Reduction of peak to average power ratio is always a concern for researchers. Various methods have

For M phase sequences [log2M], side N log 2 N information bits are required. In SLM, an N point
IFFT involves 2 complex N log 2 N multiplications and additions; these are increased by a factor of L
if oversampling is performed. Computational complexity, PAPR reduction capability and avoiding SI
are the major issues associated with SLM. Various schemes are available in literature to modify SLM.
A scheme is proposed for removing SI in SLM where phase sequence could be easily decoded at the
receiver after a level is inserted with each candidate as an identifier tag and scrambling is used to
avoid any direct manipulation of SI at the receiver. Here only a small amount of redundancy increases
the cost of hardware implementation. In this scheme removal of SI is not proposed, only
representation is changed. A magnitude scaled SLM method is proposed, where a set of envelope
function derived from Walsh sequences is used to scale the power profile of OFDM signal and at the
receiver envelope function along with a detection matrix could easily identify the used phase at the
transmitter. Another scheme proposed use of m sequences for detection of SI at the receiver but at
transmitter SI is embedded in the sequences with the help of block partitioning and rotation, at the
receiver cyclic shifting of m sequences which are derived from a Walsh Hadamard matrix is used to
choose phase factor. A lot of computations are required to choose best candidate for

research work which has been done till today in subject of Biomass conversion to Biofuel and we also
presented what are the pros and cons have those technologies, which technology will be best from
both perspective economically as well as environmentally. Introduction
Energy play a vital role in our day to day life. We can t think our life without energy. Everyone who is

Human civilisation. So, there is a need for an alternative sources of energy which can provide energy
very efficiently, effectively and also provide a way alternative to conventional sources of energy so
that human s dependence on these resources could decline. Bio fuel is an answer to that alternative
source of energy. Now the question arises is that why bio fuel? There are many characteristics which
is carry by this fuel which make it a good alternative source of energy. Bio fuel is a renewable source
of energy unlike conventional source of energy which is non renewable. This fuel has no any

I believe in not planting trees. No, not in the sense which would deprive us from oxygen, rather to stop

of the White Picket Fence Society , which is obviously a place that values diversity.
Our world is encompassed by trees. I live in a part of suburbia where it is required to have a tree in the
middle of your lawn: this is to enforce the uniformity all suburbs have. The end mission of this being
to have every individual conform to the idea of the perfect person and for them to become that idea.
Even though we keep on trying, man made houses won t ever blend in with nature. It s ironic though.

A Connection Between Existence And Absence
Life could sometimes be harsh and not grant us the ability to care for ourselves and therefore rely on
others to survive. Being unable to care for oneself leads to a diminished sense of self esteem. Not until
the time we lack the ability to perform the things we want, do we feel the absence and thus wish for
their existence. This is so because we have a humane nature of taking everything for granted. In his
play Endgame, Beckett uses many absurd elements to make a connection between existence and
absence. Throughout his characters Clov and Hamm, Beckett uses each of them to demonstrate their
incompleteness and thus the need to seek the help of one other in order to survive and achieve their
complete existence. Being a caregiver or a nurse requires a lot of patience. Clov is the sole person
whom helps Hamm with his activities of daily living. That job for Clov is identical to being someone s
caregiver or nurse. It is similar to a nursing assistant taking care of an elderly or a disabled person in a
senior living facility, nursing home or a hospital. There could be times when the job may seem
punitive because of the redundancy of certain tasks. For instance, there could be someone who is
bedridden and requires a lot of cares versus another patient who is independent but only needs
minimal assistance. In Endgame, Hamm relies on Clov for helping him but yet Clov is complaining
about the redundancy and repetitiveness of one of the tasks: getting him up and putting him to bed.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Overdraft
1. Overdraft
Overdraft may occur when the amount of money which is withdrawn from a bank account exceeds the
amount available (Overdraft, 2015). Normally it happens when an individual writes the total on the
check more than the total balance in the account. The bank will cover the checks and allows the
customers to deposit or place more funds into the account in order to cover the negative balance. In
addition, the bank will charge an interest at the agreed rate (Overdraft, 2015) on this short term loan
instead of charging fees. Basically, the bank would not reject the customers check when there is no
enough funds which are available to cover up because the customes pay for the overdraft protection on
their account.

Easter Island Case Study Essay
Name of Case Study: Easter Island: A Case Study in Non sustainability (Foot p.11) Key environmental
points: Easter Island is a remotely located island in the South Pacific. The island was first populated in
circa A. D. 400 by a group of travelers from Polynesia. The island, shaped like a triangle, was
positioned 2,000 km from the nearest inhabited land, and 3,200 km from the closest continental land
mass (Foot p. 11). According to David Foot the island originally supported a great palm forest (p. 12).
Sediment cores collected have shown these palm trees to have been considerable in both height and
diameter, actually dwarfing the three foot diameter of the largest currently existing palm tree
(Diamond p. 103). Frost further pointed out how attractive the island would seem to those early
Polynesian settlers, Surrounded by an abundant ocean and supporting two extinct volcanic craters that
contained natural lakes for fresh water, Easter Island appeared to have many attractive features for
human habitation (p. 12 13). The location of Easter Island just south of the Tropic of Capricorn would
have afforded a mild climate similar to the climate of South Florida. Archeological findings show that
this robust population had a diet consisting of land birds, porpoises, and lithic mulch agriculture. The
most intriguing aspect of the culture of the people of Easter Island, would have to be the multitude of
large stone statues placed on burial sites called ahu. By the 16th century

Got Milk Essay
Got Milk? An Analysis Got Milk? is perhaps one of the greatest marketing taglines ever. It has
become practically ingrained in our culture since its debut in 1993. Milk is not a very high interest
item in people s lives. It s a staple, said Jeff Goodby, creator of the slogan. Although milk is not new,
not improved, and generally considered boring, the Got Milk? ads are stunningly effective because of
its simplicity, use of celebrities, and broad audience reach.
The best slogans, San Diego State University marketing professor George Belch says, don t require
consumers to do too much thinking, but they shouldn t be blanket statements, either. Got Milk? is not
only simple, but it motivates the consumer. The message is: always have milk around. The Got Milk?
campaign did it with humor and suddenly it became cool to drink milk. What helped push it even
further was using the celebrity cachet. By utilizing that, awareness of drinking milk has increased by
90% since its early 90 s launch. The ad company got famous athletes, comedians, pop stars, game
show hosts, and even cartoon characters sporting milk mustaches with a healthy milk fact vaguely
related to the celebrity being featured. In the Simpson s Got Milk? ad, Bart jokes about the milk

it s targeted more to seniors. All things considered, milk is not new, not improved, and generally

Manliness Wins Wars
Well, Manliness Wins Wars* or Who Needs These Heroes?*
Introduction
Acknowledging the interconnectedness of gender and warfare is unavoidable in contemporary
literature on the subject. War s ability to enhance men s authority and magnify the distance between
femininity and masculinity (Cockburn 2010, pg. 144) has lead to the prominence of the subject in
contemporary feminist studies. Understandably the majority of recent literature has been directed
towards war s impact on women and the feminine . This limitation, however, fails to take into account
the way in which men and their interests, their notions of manliness, and masculine micro and macro
cultures (Nagel 2006, pg. 243) impacts on politics and war. If we accept that nations and ... Show

I attempt to look at the concept of heroism and how it was interwoven with the development of
American nationalism through the rhetoric of George W. Bush following the attacks of 9/11. I also
contrast the rhetoric of Jacques Chirac following 9/11 and that of François Hollande following the
recent attacks in Paris. These would suggest, I argue, that when faced when with immediate and
confronting violence hegemonic masculinity is used to legitimise violent international relations (or
war). If correct, this perhaps provides an insight into how societies could seek to organise their affairs
in a manner that would strive to avoid warfare altogether.
What is gender and masculinity?
I note here that when considering gender this essay accepts the notion put forward by Cohn that it is
necessary to focus on gendered discourses, rather than gendered individuals (Cohn 1993, pg. 228). In
other words rather than only looking at words and language it will consider
a system of meanings, of ways of thinking, images and words that first shape how we experience,
understand, and represent ourselves as men and women, but that also do more than that; they shape
many other aspects of our lives and culture (Cohn 1993, pg. 228).
It is to be understood as a set of variable, but socially and culturally constructed relational
characteristics that determine how we experience and understand ourselves as men and women, but
that also interweaves with other discourses and shapes them (Brunner 2008, pg.

  • 2. The Rapid Evolution Of Health Care The Stand Alone ER The Rapid Evolution of Health Care By Steve Okhravi, MD, MBA, CPE July 16, 2012 Emergency care in the US is at a breaking point. Per data from The Institute of Medicine, over 1000 hospitals closed in the past few years because of the enormous cost associated with operation. There has been an increase in the number of visits to emergency rooms (ERs) to more than 120 million mostly due to those who are uninsured who, as a result, have a lack of access to primary care. As the number of those who are uninsured grows because of the recession so, too, does the community who turns to ER services for their health care needs. Clearly, ER provides a safety net for the medically underserved. With the passage of the healthcare law, the shortage of primary care resources will be more noticeable. And, that means people will resort to ERs to seek care since they cannot access their doctors after usual office hours, on weekends or during holidays. In mid year 2012, there is currently a shortage of 150,000 primary care physicians. And, by 2020, it is projected there will be an additional 50,000 PC physician shortage. There are about 4,600 ERs nationwide and the numbers are decreasing. Overcrowded and slow ERs are symptoms of deeper problems in our health care system. The American College of Emergency Physicians recently gave the nation s ER system a D rating for access of care and C overall. Stand Alone emergency rooms are like an ER whereby you are ... • 7. Igor Stravinsky, a Russian Composer Igor Stravinsky is known as one of the most important and influential composers of the twentieth century. Igor was born in Lomonosow, Russia on June 17, 1882 to Anna Kholodovsky and Fyodor Stravinsky. When Stravinsky was only three he witnessed a musician at a Russian fair singing, clicking his tongue, and making armpit noises. Igor was so excited to go try it at home. This was one of Stravinsky s first memory of music. Igor s childhood was not a good memory for him. He felt hated and neglected. Igor recalled that his schooldays no one had real attraction for him and he was always lonely. The only thing that got him through it was music and his piano lessons. In 1890, Igor heard his first orchestral performance The Sleeping Beauty. He was awestruck at the grace of the piece. That performance fueled his interest in music even more. When he was fifteen, he had mastered Mendelssohn s Piano Concerto in G minor. Stravinsky also finished a piano reduction of a string quartet by Glazunov, who allegedly thought that Igor was unmusical and considered him to have poor skills. His parents saw how much he loved music but didn t want him to pursue it as a job. They enrolled him in the University of Saint Petersburg in 1901. Stravinsky was told to become a lawyer. Vladimir Rimsky Korsakov, son of composer Nikolai Rimsky Korakove, was a fellow student at Saint Petersburg. Igor s father died in 1902. His death was a major cause for Stravinsky to become more ... • 8. Variable Pay Abstract The main two reasons for the companies to implement variable pay plan are: motivating employees and reducing cost. In this paper we try to point out the challenges the organizations might face when they apply variable pay system by reviewing related literature. We find that it is difficult for the company to have a reliable measure for the variable pay system. In addition, the focus of the variable pay plan should be on motivating employees or cutting cost and how to strike a balance between these two is also an essential issue. Finally we conclude that we always have to assess the circumstances of the organization before applying the plan. Besides, Jessica and Kathy (2004) also stated that 63% of those companies which have variable compensation plan believe that the benefits of the plan outweigh the costs. What is more, 57% of those companies had unexpected favorable results such as increased productivity. Challenges of using variable pay However, it is not easy for an organization to apply a variable pay program. Like John Traci (2004) stated in their article that if the companies do not manage variable pay plan effectively, the outcome could be less than stellar. There are several concerns for the organization to think about. Thomas (2003) suggested that first concern is about the performance measures. It is difficult Variable Pay Plan 6 for many jobs to measure performance in an objective and reliable manner. Second issue is the general rejection to variable plans because of having previous bad experiences. This is also mentioned by Paul (2007) that variable pay received bad reputation because of many companies bad experiences when they failed to have supporting information or they had other organizational problems which need to be emphasized. The third issue is that the employees may feel the performance measures are not in control or their suggestions are not taken by the organization. The last one concern is that employees will fix on earning their variable pay and they will not make changes or take actions that are not related to the goals of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As far as literacy, visual, and audiovisual from the media has helped create a representations of how the rest of the world acknowledge the Pacific. In Mutiny of the Bounty, the European s men once discovered Tahiti, but they weren t just captivated by the beauty of the island they were captivated by the sexality and beauty of the women there. You can see in the movie that Tahiti was filled with beautiful, tanned skinned, and minimal clothed women. The sexual desire the European men got from these women for their sex appeals lead the main character Christian and another fellow sailor to create a mutiny against their hated Captain (Mutiny on the Bounty). One thing that I also remembered from the movie was the way they communicated. Since they both had completely different language, they somehow spoke their own language to each other and still understood it. In the movie, you also see that the ship captain Bligh got offered the Breadfruit plant from the island s chief (Mutiny on the Bounty). The captain tried to take it back home hoping for future profit, he even went to the extent to stop allowing the mates on the ship to drink water just so he could give it to the plants instead (Mutiny on the Bounty). West Caribbean Airways Flight Analysis Essay In the early hours of the morning on Tuesday, August 16th 2005, West Caribbean Airways Flight 708 was a West Caribbean Airways charter flight which crashed in a mountainous region of northwest Venezuela. With eight crew members and 152 passengers the McDonnell Douglas MD 80 departed Tocumen International Airport (PTY) in Panama City, Panama and headed to Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport (FDF) in Fort de France, Martinique, France. After initially climbing to FL310, and subsequently to FL330 to level off, the Captain of the aircraft noticed the engines sounded abnormal. Reacting to sounds of the engines, the Captain began to take corrective actions to correct the problem, by starting a rapid descent as a precaution. The time from the initial radio call from the first officer declaring engine problems to the subsequent crash took only 9:00 minutes. Enterobacter aerogenes is a nosocomial and pathogenic bacterium that cause opportunistic infections. The majority are sensitive to most antibiotics designed for this bacteria class, but it can be complicated due to their resistance mechanism such as lactamas, which quickly become resistant to standard antibiotics during the treatment. Traditional approaches for treating Enterobacter infections involve single agent antimicrobial therapy such as an aminoglycoside, a fluoroquinolone, and a cephalosporin. However, newer theories have adopted combination therapy employing multiple antibiotics with different core structure. In some Enterobacter aerogenes resistant to aminoglycoside, resistance has been associated with a bacterial genetic element known as integron. • 18. The American Of New Canada Welcome good friend to the brand new state of New Canada! What once was a corrupt country north of the center of the world (U.S.) is now the 55th state to the American Empire. The year is 2050, and almost five years since the ending of the Third World War. Five years post war and civilization is still in a state of recovery, which is why we bring Americans a piece of the past and a bit of familiarity with the grand opening of New Canada s capitol building. We do this to honor the fallen and help Canadians assimilate into American Culture. New Canada is a shell of what it used to be before its great depression and eventually WWIII. The Canadian depression started in 2033 with what historians are now calling The Great Sellout. Historians have no idea what initially caused it, but the act was that all businesses in Canada relocated and outsourced to foreign countries leaving millions of Canadian citizens unemployed and Canada without industry. Canada suffered the largest deficit ever to be had by a country at the time and the record only grew higher every year after. In its desperation, Canada sold itself out to China in 2039 in an attempt to improve the lives of its citizens. China took over what used to be car factories and turned them into weapon manufacturers. Only one year after the colonization of Canada, China invaded the U.S. WWIII lasted for five years, ending in 2055 with the U.S. now having control over China and part of Russia, Ukraine, and Japan. The Between Nazis And The German Jews Whether it is turning off one s alarm and getting off of one s bed, making breakfast, taking the bus to school, tying one s shoes, or sitting down in the same room for the same class at the same time, all of these are examples of rituals in day to day life. Different people have different interpretations of what the word ritual exactly means. A particular film, the likes of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas conveys many of these meanings; analyzing the characters in this story, more specifically the contrast between the Nazis and the German Jews, their personality can be sufficiently explained via Malory Nye s theory regarding symbolism in ritual, Emile Durkheim s idea of ritual as being a society based action, Harvey Whitehouse s thought about the relationship between ritual and memory, and Nye s perception of ritual as being a means of attaining power. Pulling these theories together, the message in this film becomes, as commonly stated: what comes around goes around, and as such, regardless of another person s belief, one should not discriminate against that person based on their beliefs and values. Throughout the film, it is the Jewish Germans who are dressed with the striped pyjamas in the movie of discussion. And with deliberate reason. As such, it is not surprising that Nye has developed a theory of ritual which he labels as being a symbolist approach to religion and ritual . The day started out with a cold and groggy morning. The scouts ventured out to find wood to start a fire with, and the adults began to fix breakfast and their morning cup of coffee. After the boys had gathered enough wood for a fire, and the adults had breakfast prepared to be cooked, the scouts constructed a roaring fire for everyone to cook their food over. Breakfast was set to be fish. Since we were without any electronics or cooking devices, we made hobo packs, which consisted of putting all of our food in an aluminum foil wrap and heating it. The painstaking wait was over, and we now had a delicious meal to fill our stomachs before another day on the water. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The day began a slow one. • 21. Female Issues Affecting The Indian Society Essay Abstract The age old problem of female related issues affecting the Indian society adversely continues to exist today in the 21st century. The advancement of new age, technology, scientific inventions, standard of life, and change in life style has failed to bring in change of the mindset. The problem of female infanticide in India seems to be persistent. The alarming records collected by local, regional, national and international bodies only reflect the drastic decline in the male female ratio. The matter is of serious concern and what is required is not only law but the change that each one has to bring in understanding that when Nature was impartial in evolving man and woman, why has the society then brought about gender discrimination. This paper is an attempt to discuss the present and future repercussions faced due to female infanticide. Since the society is reflected through literature, art and fiction, the writer has made an attempt to make a journey of today s reality through Sujata Bhatt s poem Voice of the Unwanted Girl and Manish Jha s motion picture, Matrubhoomi: A Nation Without Women that is set in the 2050s. ... missing women tell(s) us, quietly, a terrible story of inequality and neglect leading to the excess morality of women . The early Scandinavian and Baltic region practiced an early burial structure that was shaped as a ship, or ship setting, using large monumental rocks (Sparavigina 2012). Prior to the burial of the bones, it is evident that they were well taken care of and considerably older than the antlers used to construct the ditch (Nils Axel 2012). While the ditch was continuous, it was dug with antler picks in sections (similar to the discovered ditches of the earlier dated causewayed enclosures near the site) (Lawson 1997). The unearthed chalk was used to make the banks of the ditch and date this first stage of monumental construction to approximately 3100 BC. The outer edge of the enclosure area consists of a circle of 56 pits, each measuring roughly 3ft 3inch in diameter, and named Aubrey Holes due to the 17th century discoverer (Lawson 1997). Some critics argue this, however, as Auden stating that there is nothing disgraceful in being unknown. The poem is, above all, a satire of the way conformity hinders the individual and leaves ridiculous and solely external distinctions between human beings. Auden presents an allegory in The Unknown Citizen that begins even before the poem itself. The phrase Unknown Citizen appears only once in the title. This term is an immediate allusion to and parody of the Unknown Soldier, especially considering the details of who the poem is dedicated to and the fact that it is found on a marble monument, much like those one might expect to see in Washington, D.C. where the United States is home to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The Unknown Solider is a soldier who cannot be recognized after being found in battle. This sometimes controversial idea can be interpreted to mean that many people die as unknowns because they lived uninfluential lives. Aside from this large allegory, the poem uses only a few rhetorical devices. Being unable to care for oneself leads to a diminished sense of self esteem. Not until the time we lack the ability to perform the things we want, do we feel the absence and thus wish for their existence. This is so because we have a humane nature of taking everything for granted. In his play Endgame, Beckett uses many absurd elements to make a connection between existence and absence. Throughout his characters Clov and Hamm, Beckett uses each of them to demonstrate their incompleteness and thus the need to seek the help of one other in order to survive and achieve their complete existence. Being a caregiver or a nurse requires a lot of patience. Clov is the sole person whom helps Hamm with his activities of daily living. Easter Island Case Study Essay Name of Case Study: Easter Island: A Case Study in Non sustainability (Foot p.11) Key environmental points: Easter Island is a remotely located island in the South Pacific. The island was first populated in circa A. D. 400 by a group of travelers from Polynesia. The island, shaped like a triangle, was positioned 2,000 km from the nearest inhabited land, and 3,200 km from the closest continental land mass (Foot p. 11). According to David Foot the island originally supported a great palm forest (p. 12). Sediment cores collected have shown these palm trees to have been considerable in both height and diameter, actually dwarfing the three foot diameter of the largest currently existing palm tree (Diamond p. 103). Frost further pointed out how attractive the island would seem to those early Polynesian settlers, Surrounded by an abundant ocean and supporting two extinct volcanic craters that contained natural lakes for fresh water, Easter Island appeared to have many attractive features for human habitation (p. 12 13). The location of Easter Island just south of the Tropic of Capricorn would have afforded a mild climate similar to the climate of South Florida. Although milk is not new, not improved, and generally considered boring, the Got Milk? ads are stunningly effective because of its simplicity, use of celebrities, and broad audience reach. The best slogans, San Diego State University marketing professor George Belch says, don t require consumers to do too much thinking, but they shouldn t be blanket statements, either. Got Milk? is not only simple, but it motivates the consumer. The message is: always have milk around. The Got Milk? campaign did it with humor and suddenly it became cool to drink milk. What helped push it even further was using the celebrity cachet. By utilizing that, awareness of drinking milk has increased by 90% since its early 90 s launch. The ad company got famous athletes, comedians, pop stars, game show hosts, and even cartoon characters sporting milk mustaches with a healthy milk fact vaguely related to the celebrity being featured. Manliness Wins Wars Well, Manliness Wins Wars* or Who Needs These Heroes?* Introduction Acknowledging the interconnectedness of gender and warfare is unavoidable in contemporary literature on the subject. War s ability to enhance men s authority and magnify the distance between femininity and masculinity (Cockburn 2010, pg. 144) has lead to the prominence of the subject in contemporary feminist studies. Understandably the majority of recent literature has been directed towards war s impact on women and the feminine . This limitation, however, fails to take into account the way in which men and their interests, their notions of manliness, and masculine micro and macro cultures (Nagel 2006, pg. 243) impacts on politics and war. If we accept that nations and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I attempt to look at the concept of heroism and how it was interwoven with the development of American nationalism through the rhetoric of George W. Bush following the attacks of 9/11. I also contrast the rhetoric of Jacques Chirac following 9/11 and that of François Hollande following the recent attacks in Paris. These would suggest, I argue, that when faced when with immediate and confronting violence hegemonic masculinity is used to legitimise violent international relations (or war). If correct, this perhaps provides an insight into how societies could seek to organise their affairs in a manner that would strive to avoid warfare altogether. What is gender and masculinity? I note here that when considering gender this essay accepts the notion put forward by Cohn that it is necessary to focus on gendered discourses, rather than gendered individuals (Cohn 1993, pg. 228). In other words rather than only looking at words and language it will consider a system of meanings, of ways of thinking, images and words that first shape how we experience, understand, and represent ourselves as men and women, but that also do more than that; they shape many other aspects of our lives and culture (Cohn 1993, pg. 228). It is to be understood as a set of variable, but socially and culturally constructed relational characteristics that determine how we experience and understand ourselves as men and women, but that also interweaves with other discourses and shapes them (Brunner 2008, pg. ...
