Title: Anything But Free The Migratory Work Force in California America, United Stated of America
(USA), is a land of immigrants. The country was built by immigrants but gradually immigration to
this country became harder. Several contagious nations of American continents have lot of population
living in poverty and were strongly convinced to immigrate to USA illegally, by travelling on foot for
several days, crossing deserts, mountains and the southern border of USA, to get a decent and secured

On the other hand the govern should study the market constantly and identify the foreign entities that
illegally dump their products in to the market to gain the price advantage, impose sanction on such
organizations and create a market where American products thrive and support our economy. TOPIC:
Depressed Living conditions Almost all farm workers are illegal immigrants and are day laborers,
must chase crops to make a living. Farm workers are also constantly at the mercy of variable
adversities like natural disasters and bad weather. On average illegal migrant workers spend half of the
year working and quarter of the year looking for a job. In addition illegal immigrants are hard to find a
place to stay because they are in not in legal status and are required proper documentation by law to
rent an apartment. On the other hand Illegal immigrants keep move place to place to find a job and

on Migratory Labor condemned the abysmal living conditions of illegal immigrants employed as
migrant farm workers in the United States. At the time, workers were found living in orchards and

The novel The Body in the Library is an English characterized as crime novel, written by Agatha
Christie and published by Dodd, Mead, and Company. The early version of this novel was published
in February 1942 in the United Kingdom. The novel is telling a story about a young woman s body
that was found in the Colonel and Mrs. Bantry s library by their maid. When Mrs. Bantry sees the
body, she calls her old friend, Miss Marple, to investigate this crime. By the time, the body had been

Although nail clippings were found in Ruby s room, the girl in the library had bitten hers, which
meant that the body in the library was not Ruby s. When Dinah mentioned Somerset House marriage,
Miss Marple found out that Mark was married to Josie. Upon finding out about Conway and Ruby,
they decided to murder her and frame Basil. Mark and Josie approached Pamela regarding a film test,
and when she accepted, they bleached her hair, put make up on her, varnished her nails, put her into
one of Ruby s dresses, and drugged her. Mark then slipped away to write letters, and drove down to
the sea front. But that was when he drove Pamela to Basil Blake s house, and strangled her. So when
the doctor said the time she died, Mark and Josie had solid alibis, they were playing bridge watching
the real Ruby Keene alive and dancing, and they did not leave the table until after midnight. Josie told
Ruby to go and lie down in Josie s room. Ruby, as well, had been drugged. When changing for the
dance, Josie murdered Ruby, either by strangulation, a poisonous injection, or a blow on the back of
her head. In the early hours of the morning, Josie dressed Ruby in Pamela s Girl Guide uniform, stole

What Are The Similarities Of The Hang And Dynasty
Hundreds of civilizations have up and fallen over thousands of years. However, the foremost eminent

civilizations were the Han and Zhou. each of that had a similar general characteristics with variable
parts.
The Chow and dynasty had the same system of presidency. each selected their ruler relying upon the

This resulted within the mingling of the Chinese and Indian individuals and therefore the integration
of their arts. Chinese artists that reborn to Buddhism then began to draw photos and sculpt pictures of
Buddha and his teachings. On the opposite hand, the Zhou had not been influenced by any major faith.
Instead, most art was primarily based off of the previous kinfolk, the Shang. They used bronze to form
sculptures and Jade to form ornaments to embellish their palaces and shrines. The Chow palaces were
primarily product of massive wood beams. Han design was conjointly similar, they featured temples
that closely resembled Indian stupas dedicated to Buddha. However, Buddhism isn t the sole belief
that powerfully affected civilizations.
At first, the Chow dynasty s scheme thought about emperors to be specially others, then came flush

The Un Recent Drafting Of A Sustainable Development Goals...
This essay is going to discuss the UN recent drafting of a set of Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs) and more specifically the idea behind goal number 7 : Ensure access to affordable, reliable,
sustainable and modern energy for all 1. Part One Because energy is one of the most fundamental
states of the universe, it is easily measurable. In physics, calculating the energy of given a system is
one of the most basic problems, whether the question applies to an electronics problem,
thermodynamics one, or mechanical issue. We can thus assume that energy, as a hole, is easily
measurable. The goal seven s first target quotes: 7.1 by 2030 ensure universal access to affordable,
reliable, and modern energy services 2. From this statement, we understand that a main issue facing
today sustainable development is access to energy. Because energy is easily calculable, it is
straightforward to find the amount of energy we use, and the amount that is needed. Unfortunately, all
of these number and terms are subject to twists that contradict themselves. Who do we define how
much energy is needed ? How do we define a reliable and moderne energy service ? Yet, there is no
internationally accepted definition of access to energy. However, according to the IEA, it can be
described as: Household access to a minimum level of electricity Household access to safer and more
sustainable cooking and heating fuels and stoves

Use Of Persuasion For Manipulative Purposes Essay
People often use persuasion to get what they want by moving consciousness. This happens by
convincing another person to take on a different attitude in their belief system. However, some people
use persuasion for manipulative purposes while others use it to give direction and change their reality.
4.1 Persuasion techniques There are various techniques that people use to persuade others. This
include; foot in the door technique whereby the persuader starts with a small and easy request with the
hope of extending greater requests. It is based on getting a small yes and eventually leading to a bigger
yes. Another technique is the door in the face whereby a person makes unreasonable bigger offers with
the hope of getting the person to comply with a smaller counteroffer. This technique uses the power of
quilt to ensnare a person to accept an offer. Other people create an appealing need as a way of
persuading. This is appropriate for the needs of shelter, self actualization, love, and self esteem.
Further, loaded images and words are also used in addition to the power of reciprocity.
4.2 Characteristics of the persuader, message, audience
A good persuader possesses deep knowledge about a subject matter on which they can convince a
person. A knowledgeable person is seen by others as a valuable resource while a person who gets his
facts wrong is frowned upon and finds it hard to persuade other people. Good persuaders are also good
listeners in addition to being trustworthy. People

Margaret Atwood Feminist Literature
Margaret Atwood: a Social Activist Through Feminist Literature The 1980s signified the continuation
of an era of social and political upheaval in the United States of America. At the forefront was a
socially conservative agenda that aimed to rescind women s rights only ratified less than a decade
before, a marked display of the nation s desire to uphold traditional values that defined the preceding
generation (Françoise). Among the devastating political climate, however, was Margaret Atwood: a
voice that refused to be silenced, a progressive storyteller who interwove her writings with feminist
themes that pushed boundaries and defied the status quo (Napierkowski). Her prolific writing career is
full of poems, essays, short stories, and novels that have permanently altered the perception of
Canadian literature, while never ceasing to shed light on pertinent cultural and social issues. Margaret
Eleanor Atwood was born on November 18, 1939 in Ottawa, Canada. As a child, she moved back and
forth from Toronto and rural northern Canada, at the same time fostering a passion for writing at an
early age. She would later earn bachelor s and master s degrees from the University of Toronto and
Radcliffe College, respectively. In addition, Atwood has held various teaching positions at universities
throughout North America ( Editors ). She is internationally recognized as one of Canada s most
prolific and impactful writers, most recently winning the PEN Center USA Lifetime Achievement
Award in 2017 ( Awards ). Perhaps Atwood s earliest influence can be found in her upbringing. Her
exposure to both metropolitan Toronto and rural Quebec created a colorful childhood, absent of the
comfortable monotony that plagues the youth of others. Her father, an entomologist and avid reader,
helped cultivate in his daughter a love of nature (Biography.com). Atwood expressed how her parents
challenged gender roles in a 1978 interview with The New York Times:
They expected me to make use of my intelligence and abilities and did not pressure me into getting
married ... remember that all this was taking place in the 1950s, when marriage was seen as the only
desirable goal. My mother is a very lively person who would rather skate

Essay On Frankenstein
Mary Shelley is one of the best known authors of gothic literature. Her most famous work is the horror
novel Frankenstein which she wrote at the early age of 20. Since she was so young when writing the
novel, it is interesting to ask for her ideas and the source of inspiration for the content of her story. In
literary studies, Roland Barthes theory says that the author and so his or her life should not be the
reference point for an analysis (Jannidis et al. 182). Nevertheless in some stories, the traces of the
author are so strong and important that they cannot be ignored when analysing the story. Therefore,
this essay will examine the traces of Mary Shelley s biography in Frankenstein with reference to
mother s death, different places ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shelley s stepmother did not want the children to be highly educated due to her own only average
education. Shelley probably educated herself through reading a lot and the comings and goings of
such rare personalities as Lamb and Coleridge to the house (Sparks 13). This might serve as an
argument why books and reading are often mentioned in Frankenstein. Education is also important for
Victor Frankenstein. He studies in Germany and becomes a scientist with deep knowledge in this area.
Not only for Victor, education also plays a major role for other characters. For example, Elizabeth is
sad because she [has] not the same opportunities of enlarging her experience, and cultivating her
understanding (Shelley 106) when Victor leaves to visit France, the Netherlands, Scotland and
England. So even for a woman, knowledge was desirable. Due to the lack of a high education, it might
be that Shelley was not able to speak any foreign languages. She might come to terms with it and the
probable wish to speak other languages through the detailed description of the acquisition of a
language (Shelley 74 79). In conclusion, one can see that education played a key role in Shelley s life
even if she was not allowed to take part in it as much as she would have

Social Themes In To Kill A Mockingbird
In the 1960 s, an extremely large amount of men were falsely, or wrongly convicted of crimes, one of
these crimes being rape. To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, portrays the topic of rape in a
saddening and sickening manner. This novel is told from a old Scout, who is a part of the Finch
family, which goes through life s obstacles while helping anyone and everyone they can to their best
ability. While doing so, the father of the family is brought into a switched around rape case with a not
so happy ending. There are three main themes that make up the book, which are race, social class, and
innocence.
The first theme this story seems to show is social class. Back then, and even a little now, this
determined where you belonged, or who you belonged with. This theme is shown many times in this
book, not only to prove its meaning, but because it was so common before the 21st century. It s shown
greatly when Calpurnia states, There s some folks who don t eat like us, but you ain t called on to
contradict em at the table when they don t (Lee 24). This quote is said to a young Scout, who doesn t
quite know that she is judging someone when it s happening. She was confused and shocked from
what Walter was doing as he poured syrup all over his food. She didn t understand that he was only
trying to get as much as he can, and add some sort of flavor to his food because he doesn t get much
food as it is. In his family situation, they are very poor, and part of the lower social

Jamaica Kincaid Essay
Jamaica Kincaid tells a powerful story in A Small Place about her birthplace, the island of Antigua.
She elaborates about the island s past and how its implications on modern day Antigua. Kincaid is
very passionate about how the British rule of Antigua ruins their culture. She is upset by the British
not helping the Antiguans govern themselves. They do not know how to run a government and so
when the British allow the Antiguans to rule themselves the country is made worse. Here she blames
the British for giving the Antiguans, a bad setup of a government. Have you ever wondered why it is
that all we seemed to have learned from you is how to corrupt our societies and how to be tyrants?
You will have to accept that this is mostly your fault (Kincaid 34 35). She still does not let the
Antiguan government off the hook. She is especially furious with the government s delay of repairing

She understands the world that books open to the common person. J. Brooks Bouson in her book
Jamaica Kincaid: Writing Memory, Writing Back to Mother says If, in describing the poor public
services in Antigua, Kincaid is leveling an attack against the corrupt current government (Bouson 96).
This attack is because the library sits empty due to the government s lack of ambition to repair it after
a earthquake. This is because the government did not want to lose their power to the common people.
The basic formula for corrupt governments is to maintain one party or totalitarian control while
making sure the masses are uneducated. This is because if the people do not understand any other
ways of life they will accept the life of repression because they feel like it is the status quo. This is
why Jamaica Kincaid consistently refers back to the library on a regular basis in A Small Place. She is
aware of the power of the library and books that are offered to

Sweatshop, By Karl Marx
Exam 2: Marx
In this short essay I will apply the concepts of exploitation, alienation and labour theory of value from
Karl Marx s theory to analyze the practice of sweatshops and the actors involved. Marx s theory about
exploitation in application to the practice of sweatshops directs us to think about the downfalls of an
capitalist system that oppresses the poor working class. Furthermore, Marx s theory regarding the
alienation of workers from nature and the product directs us to think about the implications of a
system in which mass production jobs are specialized, and its directed impact on an individual s
mental state as well as it s limitation of social mobility. Finally, Marx s labour theory of value directs
us to think about the mass ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the bigger issues of capitalism is the class conflict it creates, which is demonstrated through
the exploitative practices of the poor working class by the Bourgeoisie. The impact of capitalism is
having an effects on a global scale. In a capitalist society, wealth is not distributed equally and in the
process of aiding the rich to get richer, in both countries that outsource this work as well as in
countries that employ sweatshops, the working class are suffering. In the simplest economic terms, the
more we consume, the more demand it creates, which only increase the quotas for sweatshops.
Another issue within the formulation of sweatshops is the mass consumption of products by
individuals in western and developed countries. The products that are sold on the market are often
inexpensive to an individual that is protected by minimum wage and social regulations, which allows
for leisure time, usually spent purchasing commodities and products. However, the individuals in
these sweatshops are not provided the same protection, and often find themselves unable to afford the
products they

I Am A New Jersey Girl
Could you see getting more out of life than what you had growing up? I couldn t see it, I thought that
this is what life had to offer. The smell of the factories, construction, and the air ports is what accented
the city. Newark New Jersey had so much excitement and entertainment right in front of you. You
didn t have to go anywhere and that is what made growing up there memorable. My parents decided
they were going to separate when I was six years old. My life had changed dramatically. Our stability
was effected as well as separation from my father and most of all trying to understand and out the
pieces together as a child .Growing up was developmental for me now as an adult I understand things
from both side. Growing up a Jersey girl is what made me.
Once my parents separated, my mother, sister, little brother and I left my grandmother s house to stay
with different relatives until my mother got it together. But our first stop was act my older sister s
house. It was different waken up somewhere different, waken up in a new environment, and new
retinues. Once we adapted to one living situation it seemed like it was time to move again. Once I
stated to get attached to my nieces and nephews it was hard for me to leave them and start over again
but I couldn t change anything. It seemed like my mother had it all together now. I had started a new

Turbulent Flow Trial in Pipe Flow Experiment
For experiment 100 (pipe flow) there were some operational errors that took place during the lab
period. There was one accident that involved the safety officer and the cross trainer that was there for
the first lab period. Both the cross trainer and the safety officer were near the viscometer as they were
both operating it. When the cross trainer finished utilizing the suction bulb, he was instructed by the
team leader to begin recoding the density measurements. The cross trainer reached into the water bath
picking up a volumetric flask by its cap, this caused the flask to slip from its cap and fall to the table.
While this was happening, the safety officer was crouched near the cross trainer with a stopwatch
trying to record the liquids efflux time. As the flask was falling the safety officer reached out to catch
it and accidently cut his hand when the flask hit the table. Review attached accident report in the
appendix for further detail of the accident.
During the first lab period, after the accident was cleaned up, we were able to obtain four density and
viscosity measurements for both water and propylene glycol at different temperatures. For the pipe
flow experiments, we were able to complete eight trials for turbulent flow experiment, twenty trials
for the pump performance experiment, and five trials for the laminar experiment. These trial numbers
were short of our goal of finishing all of the trials for both turbulent laminar for that day because of

Descriptive Essay On Venice
Summer is ending and the leaves are kicking in, the weather is at the peak of perfection and you can
still enjoy a nice scoop of gelato ice cream without freezing from Suso; because who doesn t love
frozen treats? The only issue is where in the world is Suso located?! Let s just say you can probably
drop a good $500 on a one way trip to Venice, not just to enjoy a nice scoop of gelato but to bask in
the ambiance that is an eons worth of history, art, and culture. When you think of Italy, probably the
first thing that pops into your mind is the beautiful watercolored water reflecting the architecture all
while the setting sun taints the skies with crimson and violets. The ripples harmonizing the colors
together, while they are propelled by the gondolier as he sings; when the moon hits your eyes like a
big pizza pie, that s amore. Good ole Dean Martin. Venice is the place to be if you re passionate about
romance, and not just simple everyday romance, but the kind that makes you believe in fairy tales and
stardust. The kind of romance that is timeless and forever engrained in your heart, so if marriage is
part of the trip make sure to be wise. Apart from being a firm believer of romance, if you re an art
connosieur then feast your eyes because they will glimmer like a child who just discovered bacon for
the first time in their life. First off the architecture here is sophisticated, so if you re passionate about

The Care Of A Patient
Within this case study I am going to use two of the Chapelhow et al. (2005) enablers to discuss and
reflect on the care of a patient I have been involved with on placement over a period of 5 weeks.
Enablers are the essential and underpinning skills that come together to provide expert professional
practice (Chapelhow, C et al. 2005, p.2). These include; assessment, communication, documentation,
risk, professional decision making and managing uncertainty. The enablers work together to provide a
holistic approach to the care of patients in health care settings. I am going to focus on and discuss two
of the enablers, linking them both together, which will be assessment and communication as I believe
these two enablers can be related most to my patient. I have gained full consent to use this lady as my
patient in my care study. Consent is important as you must always gain permission from the patient in
regards to their care plan and keep them fully informed. It is vital that the person consents before any
treatment, care, examination or assessment (Brooker et al., 2007, p.157). Confidentiality is a
fundamental part of professional practice that protects human rights (NMC, 2008). To maintain my
patient s confidentiality throughout my care study I am going to call her Annie. Annie is a 72 year old
lady whose care I have been involved with on placement. Annie s medical history included; previous

Sources of Business Finance
Q 1. Discuss about different Sources of Business Finance.
Different Sources of Business Finance
Business is concerned with the production and distribution of goods and services for the satisfaction of
needs of society. For carrying out various activities, business requires money. Finance, therefore, is
called the life blood of any business. A business cannot function unless adequate funds are made
available to it. The initial capital contributed by the entrepreneur is not always sufficient to take care
of all financial requirements of the business. A business person, therefore, has to look for different
other sources from where the need for funds can be met. A business can raise funds from various
sources. Each of the sources has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Further, through their right to vote, these shareholders have a right to participate in the management.
However, equity shares also carry more risk.
2. Preference Shares
The capital raised by issue of preference shares is called preference share capital. The preference
shareholders enjoy a preferential position over equity shareholders in two ways: (i) receiving a fixed
rate of dividend, out of the net profits of the company, before any dividend is declared for equity
shareholders; and (ii) receiving their capital after the claims of the company s creditors have been
settled, at the time of liquidation. In other words, as compared to the equity shareholders, the
preference shareholders have a preferential claim over dividend and repayment of capital. Preference
shares have some characteristics of both equity shares and debentures. Preference shareholders
generally do not enjoy any voting rights. Investments in these shares are safe, and a preference
shareholder also gets dividend regularly.
3. Debentures
Debentures are an important instrument for raising long term debt capital. Whenever a company wants
to borrow a large amount of fund for a long but fixed period, it can borrow from the general public by
issuing loan certificates called Debentures.
A company can raise funds through issue of debentures, which bear a fixed rate of interest. A
debenture is issued under the common

Isolating Limpers Essay
♠ ♣ ♦ ♥
In today s games, isolating limpers is a well known tactic that the vast majority of regs actively
integrate into their strategy. This is because playing in position versus weaker players is highly
profitable via multiple avenues. Immediately, we can win money when our opponent folds pre flop to
our isolation raise. Even if called, we often benefit from the post flop mistakes our opponents make
out of position. This is because players who limp are typically trying to see a cheap flop to try to make
a hand. Once they call, they will usually play fit or fold, setting up a profitable c bet scenario.
Additionally, limping players are also notorious for hanging onto their hand with any piece of the
board for multiple streets. Therefore, when we do connect, we can take them to value town.
When your average poker player thinks of a short stacker, he likely conjures images of desperation all
in moves by players without any skill who are resigned to being a one trick pony. While this may
sometimes be the case, as I do often see poor players buying in short, the popular view creates a
powerful weapon accessible to those willing to wield it. As a short stacked player, we can ... Show

Invariably, what I always seem to miss most is the ability to isolate bad players with pre flop
commiting plays, such as shoving or 3rd and going. And while I otherwise feel comfortable deeper

seemingly have but one option; small isolation raises. In this situation, playing a full stack severely
inhibits a player s route to maximum profit against most bad players. Therefore, in the case of
isolating limpers, playing a 100 big blind starting stack seems to be much more of a one trick pony

Too Much Punch For Judy Play Analysis
The play that we read for this unit is Too Much Punch For Judy, by Mark Wheeller. It is a form of

about the story of a young woman who kills her sister in an alcohol related accident. When I first read
the play I couldn t empathize with the story as I have never encountered such a shocking event in my
life. In this essay I will describe, analyse and evaluate both my work and the work of other actors in

We were first tasked to create a sound piece in groups of 6 depicting what happened from when Jo and
Judy left the bar up to the accident. There was a moment after the opening when Jo and Judy were
reversing, an impression created through Actor 1 s beep sound effect. The beeping got faster
continuously, and Actor 2 (Jo) shouted Judy slow down a bit! before they started to laugh. The
beeping that gradually got faster suggested that the car was going to crash into something, before their
laughter breaks the tension and gives the scene an anti climax. This suggests that they are in a drunken
state, because people would not usually be laughing at the prospect of crashing their car. This also
efficaciously foreshadows the tragic accident that occurs later. To further build up the tension, Actor 1
could have walked towards the audience as he performed the sound effect to suggest that the car was
crashing into them. For Task Two we were required to add movement to the piece. A section near the
end portrayed the accident as it happened. Actors 2 and 3(Judy) were sat on blocks behind two tables,
symbolizing the front of the car. Actor 1 and I crouched on either side of the tables wearing white
masks and right after Actor 3 shouted Judy slow down a bit! , we flipped the tables violently to the

The Ethics Case Contemplation, Dilemma At Devil s Den
The ethics case contemplation, Dilemma at Devil s Den, is an unblemished precedent of the
challenges that can appear at an establishment that question s the moral ethics of business. The Devil s
Den is a snack bar on a college campus, which employed approximately 36 students with 6 of them in
management positions. Evening and weekend positions were difficult to fill, and wages were low,
making employees valuable. Therefore, the managers were more flexible in their actions and
correction measures were not enforced. In order for this den to carry on in an ethical manner it
transpired to be a challenge and culture shock for all staff involved.
The daily activities happening at the Devil s Den are unethical, some of them being minor issues, but
in the case with ethics small things can become big things. The line is blurred as to where you draw
the line. At the Devil s Den, employees are allowed to eat things out of the store room when working.
But, they were abusing this privilege by taking sizeable amounts of food home when their shift was

Introduction Performance management is the process of assessing, measuring, managing, and
enhancing the overall business performance in an organization. It is defined as a strategic and

The Power Of Music In A Long Way Gone By Ishmael Beah
Living For Music Music is like the wardrobe to Narnia. It sends an individual into a whole new world
and causes one to forget about the world and problems they are living in now. In the novel A Long
Way Gone: Memoir of a Boy Soldier by Ishmael Beah, Beah becomes a child soldier unwillingly
during a civil war in Sierra, Leone when he is twelve years old. All he had was his rap music that kept
him going. In Ishmael Beahs novel he uses detail and diction to highlight how music provides a means
by which ones life can be saved by the power of music, can temporarily escape the harsh realities of
life, and can connect to happier times. Music is so important to Beah because it saved his life by
providing proof of his innocence. Beah and some boys he was traveling with got captured by the chief
of a village, tied them up and undressed them. His cassettes were found and the chief put the cassettes
in and pressed play . He asked where Beah had gotten this music and replied rap music he used to

Jetblue Customer Service Delivery Breakdown
Introduction
This paper hopes to delve into the Jetblue Customer Service delivery breakdown, from February 14,
2007, that nearly caused the company to collapse. It will look at the customer service aspect and
compare the expectations of what the customer had come to expect and what the company actually
delivered. It will look into the customer service, that lead to JetBlue s early success and competitive
edge against other airlines. It will examine if the Low Cost Airline can continue to maintain its High
Frills Status. It will look at the impact the breakdown had on the customers, stakeholders, the role
ambiguity on how the employees and managers used to handle situations with their wait and see
mentality, and the lack of perceived situational control from its employees. We will attempt to predict
what JetBlue should try and prepare for and I will give my personal opinion on JetBlue s response to
the breakdown in service in regards to the customer service communication gap and my
recommendations with moving forward.

The Importance Of Tattoos
Tattoos are commonplace in today s society. Most adults have at least one, but the majority people do
not stop and think about how society got to this point. However, in every situation there are the
outliers. Carol Rose, lawyer and journalist, known for her involvement in advocating human rights
and civil liberties, is this exception. Her article, On Pins and Needles Defending Artistic Expression.
posted on her blog about privacy, freedoms, and the law on Boston.com, focuses on tattoos and their
place in society over time. Written in 2010, this article was published at a time when, in some states,
tattooing had only become legal recently (Rose 37). In analyzing this argument, it is important to look
at the claim, warrant, and evidence. Rose defends the right of people to get tattoos, and for those
tattoos to be seen as skin art or self expression.
Rose s main claim, that tattooing should be recognized as a form of self expression, is a claim of
value. The warrant of this argument is that self expression is important and positive. She states that the
right to tattoo is part and parcel of our right to artistic expression (Rose 37). She backs this up by
giving examples of how tattooing has been seen in cultures all over the world and at different times.
She explains that tattooed mummies have been discovered in numerous places across the globe, and
tattoos have been found on a five thousand year old man s body (Rose 37). The presence of body art

The Argument Against Instagram s Censorship In The Media
Censorship in Society The First Amendment states that we, as US citizens, have freedom of speech.
This amendment also includes freedom of the press. But there are certain limits. These limits can be
seen in such media like television and the radio. Censorship rules are set forth in these forms of media
to protect the eyes of innocent children and those who may be offended. These sorts of media tend to
limit vulgar cuss words and nudity. Included in media censoring are women s nipples, but not the men
s.
Lately there hasn t been freedom of speech, or should I say freedom of posting, in the social
networking realm. The main source that also fails to keep abreast on the progressive movement, that is
Free The Nipple, and censors the nipple is no other than the popular social networking app we know
all too well, Instagram. Instagram ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Instagram censors the female nipple, they fail to acknowledge women s equality and allow for
the perpetuation of over sexualizing women, which halts progressive times of women s rights. It
would be wise for Instagram to look over policies and make a change.
One case of Instagram s censorship is that of Scout Willis. Scout Willis famously protested Instagram
s policy by walking around New York City topless in May, to highlight the fact that partial female
nudity is legal on the street, but not on the photo app (Kutner 4). Instagram returned Willis s
comments ...with a statement saying we prohibit all forms of nudity on Instagram because some
audiences within our global community are particularly sensitive to this type of content (Enright 9).
Now one may say that Instagram is a private company and therefore can make policies accordingly
and do as they please. But one also has to look at Instagram s intentions. Instagram is a moneymaker.
Recently Facebook bought Instagram for $715 million. In addition to this huge deal they Instagram is

Analysis Of Are Too Many People Going To College
Are too many people going to college? A question that I would have never expected or never heard of
until I read the title of the article, Are Too Many People Going to College? , by Charles Murray.
College is where most people strive to be. It s a place to learn and evolve into a human being who will
change and innovate the world, so a question like this startled me and made me really confused as to
why but it also caught my attention. Murray provides us with reasons, examples, and statistics on why
he believes people should or should not go to college. In his article Murray talks about the
compensations that come with a degree, the reality about college, bachelor of arts, liberal education,
core knowledge, and the four years spent at university. Three particularly points that sparked my
interest were: the truth about college, the supposed rewards that accompany a college degree, and the
four years you spend at your desired institution. I will be discussing the many flaws that are contained
within his arguments and will be utilizing logical fallacies, diction, to describe why. One of Charles
Murray points is about college and claims that it s not all the hype It s known to be. Murray provides
us with an example comparing a young male, more specifically a high school graduate, aspiring to get
a business major or settling as an electrician.
He states that he s got talent and has the skills required to be an excellent electrician,

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Analysis
Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder characterized by uncontrollable,
unwanted thoughts and repetitive, ritualized behaviors patients feel compelled to perform. When
people have OCD, they probably recognize their obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors as
irrational, but they are unable to resist them.
The DSM 5 provides clinicians with official definitions of and criteria for diagnosing mental disorders
and dysfunctions. Most people with OCD have both obsessions and compulsions, but some people
experience just one or the other (Criterion A). Obsessions are defined by recurrent and persistent
thoughts, urges, or impulses. These are experienced, as intrusive and unwanted, and in most
individuals cause marked anxiety ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Males have an earlier OCD onset age than females and are more likely to have comorbid tic disorders.
Gender differences in the pattern of symptom dimensions have been reported. Females are more likely
to have symptoms focused on cleaning and males more likely to have symptoms connected to
forbidden thoughts and symmetry dimensions.
3. Are there any ethical considerations? For example, are there concerns related to offering medication
versus talk therapy? Even in the presentation of symptoms, or which treatment options they select?
Getting proper treatment is essential so patients can learn how to take control of their OCD and gain
relief. Getting relief from OCD is possible with Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), sometimes in
combination with medication. CBT has received broad scientific support as the most effective
behavioral treatment for OCD.
Many adolescents struggle with OCD and Lady Macbeth was typical in this respect. Symptoms of this
disorder may cause great distress, and this is intensified when a person is unwilling to admit that
outside help is necessary. It is important to know that teens should be active participants in recovery
from OCD. They have to be willing to engage in CBT and recognize it as something that can help
them overcome the disorder rather than as one more demand made by their

mores is associated with prostitution, existing within the poor class. Without physical exchange the
young flower girls would perish as the goblins chant, Half their bloom will fly, / Half their dew would
dry, / Half their flaw will pass [Rossetti, p. 8]. Morality and sexuality are all exchanged for

REGRESSION
In statistics, regression analysis is a statistical process for estimating the relationships among
variables. It includes many techniques for modeling and analyzing several variables, when the focus is
on the relationship between a dependent variable and one or more independent variables.
More specifically, regression analysis helps one understand how the typical value of the dependent
variable (or criterion variable ) changes when any one of the independent variables is varied, while the
other independent variables are held fixed.
SIMPLE LINEAR REGRESSION
In simple linear regression, we predict scores on one variable from the scores on a second variable.
The variable we are predicting is called the criterion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The coefficient of determination (denoted by R2) is a key output of regression analysis. It is
interpreted as the proportion of the variance in the dependent variable that is predictable from the
independent variable. Range from 0 to 1.
For example, if r = 0.922, then r 2 = 0.850, which means that 85% of the total variation in y can be
explained by the linear relationship between x and y (as described by the regression equation). The
other 15% of the total variation in y remains unexplained.
Overall Model Fit
Dependent variable: Science Score
Parameter Estimates
math The coefficient for math is .389. So for every unit increase in math, a 0.39 unit increase in
science is predicted, holding all other variables constant. female For every unit increase in female, we
expect a 2.010 unit decrease in the science score, holding all other variables constant. Because
femaleis coded 0/1 (0=male, 1=female), the interpretation is easy: for females, the predicted science
score would be 2 points lower than for males. socst The coefficient for socst is .050. So for every unit
increase in socst, we expect an approximately .05 point increase in the science score, holding all other
variables constant. read The coefficient for read is .335. So for every unit increase in read, we expect a
.34 point increase in the science score.

How Did Charles Dickens Influence The Industrial Revolution
How Charles Dickens Influenced the Industrial Revolution
...everything converted from traditional, manual labor to machine driven, highly productive labor and
often more dangerous and life threatening.(Twist 43)
Charles Dickens was an English Victorian era author. Most of the novels he wrote were about the hard
labor and living situations people had to face during the Industrial Revolution. Oliver Twist is about
the young boys who had to work and their tough living situation. This book gave readers a little
glimpse to what it was like living during this time. Oliver Twist just gave a small insight to what it
was like to live during this time. The book in a way was written by Charles Dickens to in a way reflect
his childhood( Charles Dickens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The story is of the orphan Oliver Twist, who starts his life in a workhouse and is then sold into
apprenticeship with an undertaker. He escapes from there and travels to
London... ( Oliver Twist .) Much of the first part of Oliver Twist challenges the organizations of
charity run by the church and the government in Dickens s time. ( SparkNote on Oliver
Twist. ) These quotes explain a little of what Oliver Twist is about and how Charles Dickens explains
what he went through living during the time of the Industrial Revolution. The American Notes is a
travelogue of Charles Dickens trip to North America from
January to June in 1842. Whilst there he acted as a critical observer of North American society, almost
as if returning a status report on their progress. (American Notes. ) the air was so clear, the houses
were so bright and gay. [...] The city is a beautiful one, and cannot fail, I should imagine, to impress
all strangers very favourably. ( American Notes. )
These quotes show the way Dickens went around North America and as if he was a tourist, he jotted
down everything he did and saw and felt. He also says in the second quote how he predicts people are
going to be interested in him, this shows he was feeling pretty confident where he

Identify and explain at least three legal considerations.
The first legal consideration in this case is related to corporate liability. The hospital itself is negligent
under this doctrine. Corporate negligence is the failure to provide the equipment, facilities, and staff to
carry out the duties of the corporation in accordance with the established standard of conduct
(Showalter, 2007). Corporate negligence is evident in this case in regard to the failure to ensure that
sufficient healthcare personnel were available to provide the established standard of care to the
patients in the facility. Moreover, the personnel that were required to remain at the hospital from the
day shift were likely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, an increased incidence of falls and resulting injury are a foreseeable result of the staffing
shortage.
Identify and explain three ethical considerations. Leaders in healthcare organizations are often faced
with a variety of ethical issues. Ethical considerations will be discussed from a leadership perspective.
The ethical considerations related to this case are the responsibility to patients, responsibility to
employees, and responsibility to the organization. Responsibilities to patients includes providing
quality care that meets established standards, ensuring there are mechanisms in place to monitor and
evaluate the performance of healthcare personnel, hiring and retaining competent professional staff
that meet licensing and accreditation standards, and consistently reviewing, researching, and
implementing evidence based practices. This case fails to demonstrate ethical conduct in terms of
responsibilities to patients specifically in regard to staffing, which, in turn affects quality of care.
Responsibilities to employees include providing an adequate and safe work environment, ensuring that
employees are equipped with equipment, facilities, and sufficient staff to perform their duties within
the established standards of care, promoting the appropriate use of employee s knowledge and skills,
and providing a mechanism for employees to voice ethical concerns. This case fails to meet this
ethical standard as evidenced by not providing sufficient

  • 5. The Un Recent Drafting Of A Sustainable Development Goals... This essay is going to discuss the UN recent drafting of a set of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and more specifically the idea behind goal number 7 : Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all 1. Part One Because energy is one of the most fundamental states of the universe, it is easily measurable. In physics, calculating the energy of given a system is one of the most basic problems, whether the question applies to an electronics problem, thermodynamics one, or mechanical issue. We can thus assume that energy, as a hole, is easily measurable. The goal seven s first target quotes: 7.1 by 2030 ensure universal access to affordable, reliable, and modern energy services 2. From this statement, we understand that a main issue facing today sustainable development is access to energy. Because energy is easily calculable, it is straightforward to find the amount of energy we use, and the amount that is needed. Unfortunately, all of these number and terms are subject to twists that contradict themselves. Who do we define how much energy is needed ? How do we define a reliable and moderne energy service ? Yet, there is no internationally accepted definition of access to energy. However, according to the IEA, it can be described as: Household access to a minimum level of electricity Household access to safer and more sustainable cooking and heating fuels and stoves ... This happens by convincing another person to take on a different attitude in their belief system. This include; foot in the door technique whereby the persuader starts with a small and easy request with the hope of extending greater requests. It is based on getting a small yes and eventually leading to a bigger yes. Another technique is the door in the face whereby a person makes unreasonable bigger offers with the hope of getting the person to comply with a smaller counteroffer. This technique uses the power of quilt to ensnare a person to accept an offer. Other people create an appealing need as a way of persuading. This is appropriate for the needs of shelter, self actualization, love, and self esteem. Further, loaded images and words are also used in addition to the power of reciprocity. 4.2 Characteristics of the persuader, message, audience A good persuader possesses deep knowledge about a subject matter on which they can convince a person. • 7. Margaret Atwood Feminist Literature Margaret Atwood: a Social Activist Through Feminist Literature The 1980s signified the continuation of an era of social and political upheaval in the United States of America. At the forefront was a socially conservative agenda that aimed to rescind women s rights only ratified less than a decade before, a marked display of the nation s desire to uphold traditional values that defined the preceding generation (Françoise). Among the devastating political climate, however, was Margaret Atwood: a voice that refused to be silenced, a progressive storyteller who interwove her writings with feminist themes that pushed boundaries and defied the status quo (Napierkowski). Her prolific writing career is full of poems, essays, short stories, and novels that have permanently altered the perception of Canadian literature, while never ceasing to shed light on pertinent cultural and social issues. Margaret Eleanor Atwood was born on November 18, 1939 in Ottawa, Canada. As a child, she moved back and forth from Toronto and rural northern Canada, at the same time fostering a passion for writing at an early age. She would later earn bachelor s and master s degrees from the University of Toronto and Radcliffe College, respectively. In addition, Atwood has held various teaching positions at universities throughout North America ( Editors ). She is internationally recognized as one of Canada s most prolific and impactful writers, most recently winning the PEN Center USA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017 ( Awards ). Perhaps Atwood s earliest influence can be found in her upbringing. Her exposure to both metropolitan Toronto and rural Quebec created a colorful childhood, absent of the comfortable monotony that plagues the youth of others. Her father, an entomologist and avid reader, helped cultivate in his daughter a love of nature (Biography.com). Atwood expressed how her parents challenged gender roles in a 1978 interview with The New York Times: They expected me to make use of my intelligence and abilities and did not pressure me into getting married ... remember that all this was taking place in the 1950s, when marriage was seen as the only desirable goal. • 8. Essay On Frankenstein Mary Shelley is one of the best known authors of gothic literature. Her most famous work is the horror novel Frankenstein which she wrote at the early age of 20. Since she was so young when writing the novel, it is interesting to ask for her ideas and the source of inspiration for the content of her story. In literary studies, Roland Barthes theory says that the author and so his or her life should not be the reference point for an analysis (Jannidis et al. 182). Nevertheless in some stories, the traces of the author are so strong and important that they cannot be ignored when analysing the story. Therefore, this essay will examine the traces of Mary Shelley s biography in Frankenstein with reference to mother s death, different places ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Shelley s stepmother did not want the children to be highly educated due to her own only average education. Shelley probably educated herself through reading a lot and the comings and goings of such rare personalities as Lamb and Coleridge to the house (Sparks 13). This might serve as an argument why books and reading are often mentioned in Frankenstein. Education is also important for Victor Frankenstein. He studies in Germany and becomes a scientist with deep knowledge in this area. Not only for Victor, education also plays a major role for other characters. For example, Elizabeth is sad because she [has] not the same opportunities of enlarging her experience, and cultivating her understanding (Shelley 106) when Victor leaves to visit France, the Netherlands, Scotland and England. So even for a woman, knowledge was desirable. Due to the lack of a high education, it might be that Shelley was not able to speak any foreign languages. She might come to terms with it and the probable wish to speak other languages through the detailed description of the acquisition of a language (Shelley 74 79). In conclusion, one can see that education played a key role in Shelley s life even if she was not allowed to take part in it as much as she would have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Social Themes In To Kill A Mockingbird In the 1960 s, an extremely large amount of men were falsely, or wrongly convicted of crimes, one of these crimes being rape. To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, portrays the topic of rape in a saddening and sickening manner. This novel is told from a old Scout, who is a part of the Finch family, which goes through life s obstacles while helping anyone and everyone they can to their best ability. While doing so, the father of the family is brought into a switched around rape case with a not so happy ending. There are three main themes that make up the book, which are race, social class, and innocence. The first theme this story seems to show is social class. Back then, and even a little now, this determined where you belonged, or who you belonged with. This theme is shown many times in this book, not only to prove its meaning, but because it was so common before the 21st century. It s shown greatly when Calpurnia states, There s some folks who don t eat like us, but you ain t called on to contradict em at the table when they don t (Lee 24). This quote is said to a young Scout, who doesn t quite know that she is judging someone when it s happening. She was confused and shocked from what Walter was doing as he poured syrup all over his food. They do not know how to run a government and so when the British allow the Antiguans to rule themselves the country is made worse. Here she blames the British for giving the Antiguans, a bad setup of a government. This attack is because the library sits empty due to the government s lack of ambition to repair it after a earthquake. This is because the government did not want to lose their power to the common people. The basic formula for corrupt governments is to maintain one party or totalitarian control while making sure the masses are uneducated. This is because if the people do not understand any other ways of life they will accept the life of repression because they feel like it is the status quo. This is why Jamaica Kincaid consistently refers back to the library on a regular basis in A Small Place. She is aware of the power of the library and books that are offered to ... • 11. Sweatshop, By Karl Marx Exam 2: Marx In this short essay I will apply the concepts of exploitation, alienation and labour theory of value from Karl Marx s theory to analyze the practice of sweatshops and the actors involved. Marx s theory about exploitation in application to the practice of sweatshops directs us to think about the downfalls of an capitalist system that oppresses the poor working class. Furthermore, Marx s theory regarding the alienation of workers from nature and the product directs us to think about the implications of a system in which mass production jobs are specialized, and its directed impact on an individual s mental state as well as it s limitation of social mobility. Finally, Marx s labour theory of value directs us to think about the mass ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the bigger issues of capitalism is the class conflict it creates, which is demonstrated through the exploitative practices of the poor working class by the Bourgeoisie. The impact of capitalism is having an effects on a global scale. In a capitalist society, wealth is not distributed equally and in the process of aiding the rich to get richer, in both countries that outsource this work as well as in countries that employ sweatshops, the working class are suffering. In the simplest economic terms, the more we consume, the more demand it creates, which only increase the quotas for sweatshops. Another issue within the formulation of sweatshops is the mass consumption of products by individuals in western and developed countries. The products that are sold on the market are often inexpensive to an individual that is protected by minimum wage and social regulations, which allows for leisure time, usually spent purchasing commodities and products. There was one accident that involved the safety officer and the cross trainer that was there for the first lab period. Both the cross trainer and the safety officer were near the viscometer as they were both operating it. When the cross trainer finished utilizing the suction bulb, he was instructed by the team leader to begin recoding the density measurements. The cross trainer reached into the water bath picking up a volumetric flask by its cap, this caused the flask to slip from its cap and fall to the table. While this was happening, the safety officer was crouched near the cross trainer with a stopwatch trying to record the liquids efflux time. As the flask was falling the safety officer reached out to catch it and accidently cut his hand when the flask hit the table. These include; assessment, communication, documentation, risk, professional decision making and managing uncertainty. The enablers work together to provide a holistic approach to the care of patients in health care settings. • 18. Isolating Limpers Essay ♠ ♣ ♦ ♥ In today s games, isolating limpers is a well known tactic that the vast majority of regs actively integrate into their strategy. This is because playing in position versus weaker players is highly profitable via multiple avenues. Immediately, we can win money when our opponent folds pre flop to our isolation raise. Even if called, we often benefit from the post flop mistakes our opponents make out of position. This is because players who limp are typically trying to see a cheap flop to try to make a hand. Once they call, they will usually play fit or fold, setting up a profitable c bet scenario. Additionally, limping players are also notorious for hanging onto their hand with any piece of the board for multiple streets. Therefore, when we do connect, we can take them to value town. When your average poker player thinks of a short stacker, he likely conjures images of desperation all in moves by players without any skill who are resigned to being a one trick pony. When I first read the play I couldn t empathize with the story as I have never encountered such a shocking event in my life. In this essay I will describe, analyse and evaluate both my work and the work of other actors in my group, focusing on the mediums, elements and explorative strategies of Drama. In Hour One, we explored the play by using two explorative strategies, which are still image and thought tracking. Task One was to create four still images that showed ... There was a moment after the opening when Jo and Judy were reversing, an impression created through Actor 1 s beep sound effect. The beeping got faster continuously, and Actor 2 (Jo) shouted Judy slow down a bit! before they started to laugh. The beeping that gradually got faster suggested that the car was going to crash into something, before their laughter breaks the tension and gives the scene an anti climax. This suggests that they are in a drunken state, because people would not usually be laughing at the prospect of crashing their car. This also efficaciously foreshadows the tragic accident that occurs later. To further build up the tension, Actor 1 could have walked towards the audience as he performed the sound effect to suggest that the car was crashing into them. For Task Two we were required to add movement to the piece. A section near the end portrayed the accident as it happened. Actors 2 and 3(Judy) were sat on blocks behind two tables, symbolizing the front of the car. Actor 1 and I crouched on either side of the tables wearing white masks and right after Actor 3 shouted Judy slow down a bit! , we flipped the tables violently to the side and stood straight up. I looked directly in Max s stone grey eyes, I where I saw the desire for the chewy sweet. Well, you see, I was trying to impress this guy and I put up my head, I could already tell Jackson was lying. Usually when he lied he didn t go into depth of the story, as he was now. Real truth, come on, I growl. I shoved my cookie into my mouth. Fine, as stupid as I am I did it. I was at my sister s birthday party, Peter somehow snuck away. I was stuck at the stupid birthday party, and my sister wanted to play truth or dare. So, she begged me to play, I did. Then some dumbass girl dared me to break up with Angelina Don t curse under this roof, I m pretty sure Grandma can sniff cuss words, I said. Also, I liked the lie better. Of course, trust Jackson to never back down from a dare, no matter how foolish. Well, foolish boys, or should I say boy. I am the oldest in our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Rossetti s Goblin Market Bestolarides 6 As Higgins and Mr. Doolittle try to transform Eliza, she is proactive in subverting their conditional terms. Both men dismiss their experiences while Eliza absorbs all of the surrounding information to better her chances of preparing herself to work in a flower shop. She is self assertive and wants to lead a life of her own. Her ambitions are witnessed, when she returns to Higgins, concerning his offer in teaching her phonetics. He insults her voice and class affiliation, however, she does not relent in walking away from his offer. Higgins views Eliza as an experiment that he can shape and transform into his own artificial duchess. But, Eliza confronts his skewed vision of her and presents something more real [Plant, p. 50]. Victorian horticulture is not only the exotic, but native fruit (peaches, strawberries, apricots) to accommodate the vagrancies of the market. Fruit in the goblin s market is essential in the formation of Laura s character. Laura is demanded to exchange a lock of hair in order to purchase fruit [Rossetti, p. 3]. Only through this exchange can the sisters satisfy their hunger. This representation of Victorian mores is associated with prostitution, existing within the poor class. Without physical exchange the young flower girls would perish as the goblins chant, Half their bloom will fly, / Half their dew would dry, / Half their flaw will pass [Rossetti, p. 8]. • 44. Customer Loyalty REGRESSION In statistics, regression analysis is a statistical process for estimating the relationships among variables. It includes many techniques for modeling and analyzing several variables, when the focus is on the relationship between a dependent variable and one or more independent variables. More specifically, regression analysis helps one understand how the typical value of the dependent variable (or criterion variable ) changes when any one of the independent variables is varied, while the other independent variables are held fixed. SIMPLE LINEAR REGRESSION In simple linear regression, we predict scores on one variable from the scores on a second variable. The variable we are predicting is called the criterion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The coefficient of determination (denoted by R2) is a key output of regression analysis. It is interpreted as the proportion of the variance in the dependent variable that is predictable from the independent variable. Range from 0 to 1. For example, if r = 0.922, then r 2 = 0.850, which means that 85% of the total variation in y can be explained by the linear relationship between x and y (as described by the regression equation). The other 15% of the total variation in y remains unexplained. Overall Model Fit Dependent variable: Science Score Parameter Estimates math The coefficient for math is .389. So for every unit increase in math, a 0.39 unit increase in science is predicted, holding all other variables constant. female For every unit increase in female, we expect a 2.010 unit decrease in the science score, holding all other variables constant. Because femaleis coded 0/1 (0=male, 1=female), the interpretation is easy: for females, the predicted science score would be 2 points lower than for males. socst The coefficient for socst is .050. So for every unit increase in socst, we expect an approximately .05 point increase in the science score, holding all other variables constant. read The coefficient for read is .335. So for every unit increase in read, we expect a .34 point increase in the science score. SEE The standard
