The University of the People s Intellectual Property policy requires we respect individual property
rights and abide by US copyright laws (University of the People Catalog, 2015, p. 83). The University
of the People does not tolerate plagiarism. Plagiarism violates Individual Property rights by failing to
credit the author s work. According to WIPO, Intellectual Property refers to creations of the mind,
creative work such as books, music, movies, photos, web content, and software (WIPO, n.d.).
Everyone has created Intellectual Property at some point in his or her life and no one wants it stolen.
Innovation flourishes when ideas can flow, but stealing from the author will only lead to stifled

Voting is perhaps the single most important activity a citizen of the United States of America can
engage in, many have fought and died to ensure this right is extended to every citizen. Voting is the
vehicle through which the collective voice is heard, and the means through which meaningful change

Cummings is commonly associated with his peculiar ideas about punctuation; he lacked punctuation
and structure frequently. Being one of the best known poets of all time, Cummings creates a language
that is relatable to just about anyone. I think this poem is about a small community where everyone is
concerned with his or her own actions, never caring about neighbors or other members of the

My Counseling Goals
My first goal was to be able to use basic counseling skills within my counseling sessions and working
on learning more about creating appropriate treatment plans on my own. I did quite a bit of reading of
books, such as treatment planners and also met with both of the Post Docs at my site to learn how they
approach treatment planning. I was able to get some good insight on how my approach may differ
from others and that this is okay. I learned that in this journey it is very important to know what
theoretical orientation you are using to think about change.

were recommended based on Yalom s group teachings for about one hour every two weeks thus far. I
have investigated the 11 curative factors so that I could write appropriate group formatted notes. Also,
I have joined a research project at our clinic related to individual and group tracking that will better
our clinics group program. I have worked with one of our Post Docs and my undergraduate supervisee
to explore how group outcomes and tracking can be implemented in a clinic, such as the PRACTICE.
The expected outcome was that I would understand the process group dynamics and the 11 curative
factors further. I have done so this far and am continuing to better understand what it would mean to
track group experience in my current research project at the clinic. This also has helped me as a

We had a fast trip down to Mississippi to visit with Dad Kay. With all the storms blowing through, we
managed to evade them all thankfully. We did have sunny skies on Friday Monday. And the little
Miata just hummed along. We took the top down Friday after we left Hopkinsville KY. Getting off the
Pennyrile Pkwy and onto I 24 for a bit, traffic became quite heavy heading into Nashville, so we got

1. The purpose of memory, whether it be in humans or machine, is to store information for a period of
time. Both human memory and the memory used in artificial devices are capable of doing so but they
differ in many ways; two differences being discussed will be on how memory is encoded, and how
memory is stored.
There are endless stimuli in the world meaning we humans are constantly feeling, hearing, smelling,
tasting, and touching; at any given point in time, our brain is working and processing this into our
sensory memory. Information encoded in our sensory memory will only last a very short amount of
time (A few seconds sometimes even shorter) before it is either forgotten or transferred to the next
memory store, short term (Also known as working memory). The main factor in whether information
is further retained to short term memory, is attention. The three main ways information can be encoded
is through visual, auditory, and semantic coding. Visual coding enables information to be stored as
pictures, auditory stored as sounds, and semantic stored as meaning.
Memory encoding in machines can be stored as pictures and sounds but meaning is exclusive to
humans. Computer memory does not depend on attention; whatever is captured/experienced by the
machine will be encoded in the artificial device. Unlike human memory, the information will not be
forgotten if there is not enough attention and will be stored; bringing us to our next difference.
The memory used in artificial devices uses complex systems such as primary/secondary memory,
RAM, caches, etc. However, machine memory can explained described as black or white ; they either
know something or they don t, and when they do learn something they generally don t forget (Unless
