History Of The Hubble Telescope
It s been around for twenty years, it s made over 930,000 observations, it has taken around 570,000
images of celestial objects, it has helped us figure out how old our universe actually is, plus much
more. Do you know what NASA uses to find those things out? No? Yes? Well let me tell you, it s the
Hubble telescope. Now you may be asking what s the Hubble Telescope? What is a Hubble telescope?
Or you might just be thinking oh I already knew what that was . If you know what I m talking about
this shouldn t be too confusing for you, but if you don t know, well now you can finally learn about
what helps us discover many things in our solar system. The Hubble telescope was not made by the
actual person, in fact, it was named after him because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of its most important discoveries include the pictures it takes and sends to us. These images
have helped scientists estimate the age of the earth and the size of it. It is believed to be around 14
billion years old. It has detected black holes and if you don t know what black holes are they suck in
everything around them including light. The Hubble Telescope also has something to do with dark
energy and dark energy is a random force that has the ability to make the universe expand faster and
faster as time goes. Another, discovery is the telescope has discovered is the details of gamma rays
bursts and that is a powerful explosion of energy that happens when massive stars collapse. The
Hubble has also shown us how galaxies formed. It revealed extraordinary details about the process by
which sun like stars and their lives as planetary nebulae. It may have helped is with identifying
quasars, it showed us pictures of a clashing galactic quintet, a densely packed star cluster, an eerie
pillar of creation ., and famed butterfly nebula. It has shown us the birth of stars, and imagery of the
cosmos. Hubble s millionth observation was a spectroscopic measurement, gas giants. Those were just

Strategic Management Of Apple Inc. And Samsung Group
Strategic Management of Apple Inc. and Samsung Group Analyze Apple and Samsung domestic and
global environments, industry, internal capabilities, mission and vision. Apple and Samsung, actually,
considered as pioneers in technological industry. Every company has chosen different business
strategies and models within the marketplace. Apple releases few but highly anticipated high end
products while Samsung inundates the market with a wide variety of products. In the beginning, Apple
was very careful about its mobile and tablet releases by originally allowing for long development
cycles that grow anticipation and showcased new innovations with each new release under Steve Jobs.
Steve Jobs, one of the original founders and innovation of Apple Inc, used non cooperative strategy
which means he did not want to share the company s software with any other companies. He wanted
total exclusion of Apple s software and hardware products. In this way, he gave his companies a
competitive advantage because the focus is to satisfy the customer need that no other competition can
satisfy which allows the company to have higher prices for their products. Promoting innovation is a
big advantage for businesses although the failure rate of the innovation of new products is high (Hill
Jones, 2013:495). So, Steve Jobs strategy is blended art and technology in order to provide a simple
and streamlined user experience. Thus, in 2007, Apple was in the forefront of

Avatar
Avatar In 2009 Avatar was released with a highly positive review. Watching this movie around eight
times in the first year it was out I concluded that the deeper meaning of the story could be taken two
different ways. In a sense it could be depicting how the European s came and took the Indian s land,
just how the Na vi seemed to be Native American in traditions and beliefs. The second way of viewing
it could be how the humans are killing the planet and its native population just so they can get
recourses and make a profit. This could be a way of saying how mankind is killing the planet. The
movie could mean both of these or something completely different. I am not the best at getting
meanings behind works of art or movies, I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The scenery during this part of the movie shows different tribes around the planet, each with their own
beliefs and culture. Every village looked different from the last and even though it s a short scene it
adds more to the world and shows you just how vast and wild the world really is.
They each had a leader and distinct face paint and war paint that they prepared for this fight. Jake
would singlehandedly unite every tribe to protect the Na vi s way of life.
The seconds is near the end of the movie when you see how everything plays out and all the loss of
life on both sides. After hearing the stories from both Na vi and human you can t decide who you
should root for in the fight. Humans because you are a human of the Na vi because they are also, the
victims in the movie. It could also be because they give such a rich background to the
Na vi that you can t help but to love their world and way of life. What I like about Avatar is just how
beautiful it is to watch. The director and whoever oversaw the CGI did an amazing job depicting the
world. They made the world vivid with breathtaking views and amazing new animals and vegetation,
each one was unique and vivid with how they seemed to glow in the dark. The second thing I love
about this film is how they implemented enough action to satisfy me, but it wasn t the whole movie. It
had story and plot and action when needed. The third thing I loved about

Research Paper On Health Evangelism
Health evangelism is the good news that Jesus makes people healthier. Health evangelism is Christ
centered evangelism integrated with a health program. The health component of health evangelism
contains information regarding the risks associated with unhealthy living and provides behavior
change strategies designed to correct bad habits and addictions. The evangelistic component of health
evangelism introduces people to Jesus. Jesus provides the power to change. Lasting behavior change
is impossible for many people who rely on their own efforts, but a relationship with Jesus turns a life
around. This is true in the physical realm as well as in the spiritual realm. Many people who don t
know Jesus to begin with, will identify a health evangelism program as the start of their Christian
experience. Many who already have a religious background will find a deeper and intensely practical
relationship with Jesus as they learn to trust Him for daily ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Perhaps some of them have not experienced Jesus in their own lives and have not learned how
essential Jesus is to successful healthful living. Evangelists have not helped the situation much either.
The constant question posed to those conducting health programs is, Where are the baptisms? This
question looks at the end of the process and doesn t recognize the multiple steps that precede baptism.
Health evangelism helps prepare people for baptism by leading them through the several steps that
precede baptism. Perhaps the biggest reason we are not doing more health evangelism is because we
haven t been doing it up to this point and we really do not know how to do it. On the scientific side,
health evangelism of the type advocated here has not been studied. We would do more health
evangelism if we had proof that health evangelism is more effective in changing behaviors than
traditional behavior change

Tractors In The Grapes Of Wrath
The Grapes of Wrath written by John Steinbeck focus on the causes of the dust bowl and the people in
it. Within the book chapter five clearly shows how the author displays his views of the banks and the
tenant farmers. Steinbeck does this by using point of view, and selection of detail Within the chapter
steinbeck focuses on the description of the tractor drivers hired by the new caretakers of the farm. He
states how the drivers loved the machines in a completely different way then they loved the land like
the previous farmers did. The author does this by stating how the drivers loved the land no more than
the banks did, who loved the land only for a profit. As opposed to the previous farmers who had loved
the land on a more intimate level as they had lived there all their lives. Steinbeck then goes on to show
the mechanical love the driver has for the tractor. This is mechanical because of the way steinbeck
references the machined surfaces and the surgical work. Furthermore the mechanical aspect can be
supported by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the drivers are sitting on break and eating their food the Tenets watch in hunger and disbelief.
This detail shows the nature of the Tenets caused by the tractors. The Tenets are all left hungry
because a few tractors came in and took everyone s job. Because of this Tenets are left hungry while
the drivers sit pretty. Again this perspective is shown through The tractors willingness to completely
destroy the Tenet house. After arguing the Tenet is shown the drivers point of view leading to the
driver explaining how he will plow through the Tenets house if he does not comply. The Tenet can
only try to grasp why the driver would do such a thing especially to his own people. Steinbeck s
imagery by use of detail shows the innocent good nature of the Tenets through their conversation with
the driver while also showing the ruthless nature of the Tractor and it s

After Effects Of Volcanoes Research Paper
Unlike other volcanoes, the eruption of composite volcanoes is unique. The eruption of the composite
volcano is known to be very explosive because the amount of pressure tends to build up. That is why
the composite volcano is known as the deadliest volcano. Therefore, when the volcano explodes all of
the pressure is released causing the results to be destructive. After there is no more volcanic activity,
or when the volcano is dormant, erosion will start wearing the cone down. The main cone is worn
down to reveal the hard lava neck inside the conduit after thousands of years. After more eruption, the
volcanic neck , which is the result of erosion, abolishes any remnants of the cone. Another after effect
of eruptions is the formation of a caldera. A caldera is formed when volcanoes disintegrate. In
addition, they vary in shape and size depending on the size of the original volcano. Usually, the
location of a caldera is a sign of a new composite volcano. An example of a caldera formed by a
composite volcano is Crater Lake in Oregon. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many acres of vegetation were wiped out, and about 60 people and many animals died. Mount
Pinatubo is another example; it erupted in 1992 in the Philippines. The eruption killed about 350
people. However, composite volcanoes do not erupt as often as shield volcanoes.
The magma is known to block the vents of the volcano, so that is why the eruption is hazardous.
Composite volcanoes usually have andesite lava. There are three main types of lava/magma that
volcanoes have: andesite, dacite, and rhyolite. Andesite lava/magma usually is dense and has a thick
consistency. It consists of quartz and feldspar minerals .The magma flows out through a pipe called

Sigmund Freud s Theory Of Psychoanalysis Essay
Freud s theological perspective was termed Psychoanalysis. Freud believed people unconsciously
repressed information, and that this hidden information was the cause of their distress. The
unconscious is the space in your brain where thoughts, feelings, and desires are tucked away, and
cannot be readily drawn upon and available to the conscious mind. Because 99% of this methodology
is dealing with the unconscious, Freud believed that success could not be reached by the individual
alone, rather they need someone trained in the ways of Psychoanalysis to help them. In contrast, the
conscious mind is all of the things we are thinking and feeling now; it is information that is easily
accessible to us. There is also this idea of a preconscious, where while we are not currently thinking of
that information, if we want it, it is there and can be pulled up when we are ready to attend to it.
Psychotherapy was often a many year process where various methods and theories within his theory of
Psychoanalysis were considered and practiced. One of these theories is that of psychosexual
development.
Psychosexual Development
As one grows and develops it is often times clear they pass through difference stages of development;
for Freud, his focus was psychosexual development. This term refers to how sexual energy, libido, is
found and focused on different parts of the body throughout development. There are five of these
Freudian psychosexual stages, including oral, anal, phallic, latency, and

The Earthquake
The Earthquake
It was a sunny day outside. The heat from the sun was hitting my face as I was painting the hot
summer day onto my canvas. The colors made the image stand out and made it bright. The yellows
added the joy to the picture while the greens freshened up the image. It was burning outside and my
throat felt dry, like the Sahara desert. I reached for my cold cup filled with icy lemonade. I slowly took
the last sip. I felt hydrated as the ice cubes were hitting my lips and little bits traveling down my
throat. My palms were covered in water drops from the cup. I went back to painting after I dried my
hands and gently wiped my lips with a soft napkin. After painting for awhile I decided to take a small
break. I held my cup tightly and ran downstairs with little drops dripping from the cup. There was just
a little bit of lemonade left so I decided to carefully pour the rest into my cup and head upstairs to my
room. As you may know almost everyone has siblings, including me. While my parents were not
home, I was painting my beautiful picture, my older sister decided to show up. Her name is Jasmine.
She s fifteen, with long, brown locks, spring green eyes, and pale skin with freckles sprinkled on her
nose and her rosy cheeks. She was beautiful but her soul wasn t. I could feel something was up as she
bursted through my door. I can t believe you drank the rest of the lemonade you selfish pig. Ugh I hate

The Atrocity Of Genocide
The atrocity of genocide can no longer coexist with humans. The United States needs to lead the
charge in stopping genocide worldwide. With the support of the UN genocide on earth can completely
be destroyed as a problem. The United States is one of the most powerful countries in the world today.
Sitting back and doing nothing is quite selfish. If the United States decides to lead the charge
genocides around the world will stop. For example, in World War II when the U.S joined, Hitler was
brought down quickly and it all ended. This shows that when the United States has intervened in the
past it has worked. Why sit back and do nothing? The amount of people killed in these genocides is far
too many that ever had to die. If the United States

Informative Essay On Baroque Music
Baroque music was first constructed between 1600s through 1750. Baroque music originates in Rome,
and Italy, thought out time the music migrated across Europe. The word Baroque is Italian for bizarre,
which corresponds with the music because it is very lively and energetic. I choose the baroque period
because the music is very interesting and one of a kind, that is not played anymore in our time. There
are many different parts that make up the Baroque Opera, from composers to the actual Opera itself.
There were many composers during the baroque era that wrote operas, like Claudio Monteverdi; an
early Baroque composer. Monteverdi composed mostly sacred and secular music, he created two
styles of composition heritage Renaissance polyphony ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first opera house was opened in Venice, 1673. Composers would preform their operas for the
wealthy in theaters that would not be available for the less fortunate, or be hired to perform in the
wealthy s homes. Baroque music was also very popular for the ability to dance to it. There are five
different dances that were created during the Baroque period. The first one is Gavotte , it is a French
dance in a moderately quick quadruple meter, this formed one of the movements in the classical suite,
usually following the saraband. Another Baroque dance is called Bourree , this dance is similar to
gavotte; bourree starts on a different beat giving the dance a different feel, usually played at a
moderate tempo. Passepied is also another dance made from the baroque era, this dance is a fast paced
dance usually played at a triple meter. Another dance is the Minuet , this dance is one of the best know
dances. This dance can start on any beat, making it more enjoyable to dance to due to multiple beats.
The last dance is Rigaudon this dance is a French dance similar to bourree, but has more of a rhythmic
feel to it. During this period the church was also a big part in of the Baroque era. The church also
started to get involved into the opera and instruments known as cantata. Singing in the church created
a variety of voices known as soprano, alto, and many more. There are many forms of singing for
example there were, recitative, duets, and arias that were sung in the church. All the voices singing in
unison created a melody that would allow others to sing along, creating a homophonic

The Dangers of Tanning Essay
Spring is finally here, and Spring Break and the Senior Prom are around corner. The teenagers and the
college kids are planning a drive to the tanning salons or a day at the beach. The media has instilled in
women that tan skin is a sign of youth and sex appeal. Some people go to the tanning salons and
others spend hours outside in the sun to achieve the sun goddess look. Many don t realize the dangers
that come with the sun or a box with light bulbs that has more UVA radiation than the sun does. From
fair to dark skin, people are being destroyed by the same UVA radiation that gives people that sexy

For they realize the dangers of tanning beds. Tanning beds generally emit 93% to 99% UVA radiation,
which gives off thirteen times more radiation than the sun. It s easy for some people, who have read
the facts, to stop tanning in tanning beds, but others have fallen prey to it and they won t stop because
it s too enjoyable. Research has found that tanning beds seems affects more than just the skin. During
tanning sessions, exposure UV light seems to elevate people s mood and may be addictive. Those who
are addictive are called tanorexia. (Linke) According to the American Academy of Dermatology
Association, skin that has been exposed to UV light generates and releases beta endorphin, which is an
opium like chemical. Beta endorphin is best known for supplying the sense of well being, or a runner s
high that accompanies energetic exercise. (Ruscitto) Tanning beds can put people s mood in high
spirits. A person, who tans frequently, who tries to stop tanning is hard for them, because when they
do, they have symptoms of withdrawal including nausea and jitters. An infrequent tanner experiences
no withdrawal symptoms. People who are addictive can t stop, and are speeding straight towards
danger. Twenty minutes in a tanning bed is like spending a whole day at the beach with no sun block.
UVA rays penetrate deep into the skin tissue, changing the DNA structure. Scientists discovered that
tanning beds are as dangerous as arsenic and mustard gas. (Siddons) People tan

Stock Options
Many years ago stock options were rarely used as incidental benefits for top executives. Nowadays,
compensating employee whit stock options has become an increasingly common practice. Before the
year 1996, only the intrinsic value method was used to record these transactions. This method
distorted the issuer s reported financial condition and results of operations, which could lead to
inappropriate decisions taken by investors. Followed by the increased use of employee stock options
and the surrounding controversy of its recording method, on the year 1996 the fair value method was
introduced to be used as an alternative to the intrinsic method and on 2004 the intrinsic value method
was completely discontinued. The Fair value method ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fair value of an option grant ideally would be based on the observable market price of the option
or of one with similar terms and conditions. As the market price is not usually observable, fair value
measurement techniques use option pricing models such as a Black Scholes model, a Monte Carlo
simulation technique, or a lattice model to determine a fair value of an option that is, one that accounts
for factors such as the stock price at the grant date, the strike price, the expected life of the option (that
is, the expected period of time between the grant date and the exercise date), the volatility of the
underlying stock and the expected dividends on it, and the risk free interest rate over the expected life
of the option. Assuming that the fair value option pricing model determines the company s total
compensation expense to be $300,000, then this company will expense $100,000 each of the following
three years. The 2004 requirement eliminated the use of the intrinsic value based method and thus
addressed users and other parties concerns of financial statements distortions by requiring an entity to

Stress And The Immune System Essay
Stress And The Immune System
The immune system is a very important part of our bodily functions as its main function is to protect
the body against millions of antigens, which attack our cells and try to reproduce viruses and diseases.
The immune system can protect the body in three different ways, in which are:
1. It creates a barrier that prevents the antigens from initially entering the body.
2. If the antigens do manage to enter the body, then your immune system will try to detect the virus
and abolish it before it begins to spread.
3. If the virus does reproduce and begins to cause problems, your immune system is then responsible
for eliminating it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They have also found that there are strong links between prolonged stress and disorders, mentally and

the Immune System.
Kiecolt Glaser et al 1995 =========================
Aims
The aim of this experiment was to determine the effects of stress on the immune system. This was
determined by analysing how quickly a person s wound healed. It naturally is clearly difficult to create
stress within a group of participants to examine how stress does affect your immune system. Hence
Kiecolt Glaser required seeking a group of participants in which naturally have high levels of chronic
stress.
Procedures
Kiecolt Glaser et al 1995 used a group of women who were caring for relatives suffering from a rare
disease called senile dementia. This responsibility has been known to be associated with chronic
stress.
Kiecolt Glaser et al used a matched participants design, which is where the participants are matched
together based on for example age and height. A volunteer sample was used as the participants were
recruited using advertisements.
There were thirteen women aged between forty seven and eighty one year and who were all carers and
so they were placed in the experimental group. An additional thirteen

five members to make the training more efficient, manageable, and cost effective.
Some of the other problems African American businesses face is the lack of investment from the
community who do not patronize their products and services. Another challenge for the business
community in Milwaukee is that the people are too conservative. The city needs to evolve as the
country s next go to city while the city is developing its infrastructure.
The chamber is also thinking of ways on how to elevate and promote the black businesses in
Milwaukee and expand it to neighboring cities. This will help grow the business and clientele of
African American companies.

Even though he was not perfect, Hamilton did make many important economic decisions that would
later impact the future of the U.S. Beginning with he returned to New York, Hamilton finished his
studies and worked as a Pro Bono Lawyer, a lawyer who worked without pay, helping ordinary people
with everyday problems, (Fowler, Russell). Following this Hamilton attended the Constitutional
Convention hinting his support for a strong federal government, which would later lead to the
foundation of the Federalist Party, ( Alexander Hamilton. Dictionary of American Biography). In
support of a centralized government, Hamilton worked to change the Articles of Confederation and
was one of the authors of the famous Federalist Papers in which he wrote 51 of the 85 essays along

During his time holding the position of Treasury Secretary, Hamilton decreased the nation s debt by
dividing it into two categories, domestic and foreign debt. By 1795, foreign debt was repaid, and 40
years later domestic debt was also repaid. Furthermore, U.S currency grew to hold strong economic
value worldwide ( Alexander Hamilton Gale Encyclopedia of U.S. Economic History). Along with
repaying debt, Hamilton devised the foundation for a Bank of New York ( The Bank of New York
Company, Inc. ) and a National Bank. The bank held many critics, including James Madison, however
it was passed along with Hamilton s tax and public credit idea in exchange for Hamilton agreeing to

Price fixing is illegal under the competition act of 1998. When participants on the same side of the
market (such as the big 4 in the UK supermarket sector) agree to sell a service, product or commodity
at a fixed price it s the consumers who must pay while retailers and suppliers reap the benefits. There
are extremely heavy penalties for price fixing in the UK You can be fined, disqualified from being a
director or even sent to prison (Business Link No Date).
Minimum wage laws will always affect supermarkets as generally many of their staff would be paid
minimum wage. Under the National Minimum Wage Act of 1998 all employers must pay their
employees a certain amount per hour as set by the UK Government. The main rate of National
Minimum Wage which applies to workers aged 22 and over and is currently £5.80 per but will raise

There are many laws in the UK and EU which are designed to protect the environment. However there
are two main Acts which were made to consolidate as many issues as possible, these are the
Environmental Protection Act 1990 and the Environment Act 1995 (Hartshorne. J,1996). DEFRA is
the UK government agency which is responsible for setting legislation and guidance on a number of
environmental issues (DEFRA, No Date). Some important legislation which applies to supermarkets

Airline Pricing And The Game Of Yield Management
Airline Pricing and the Game of Yield Management
For the past few decades, the airlines are looking for the possibility to improve their yield
management to maximize their profit. In order to achieve it, they have started to develop the yield
management analysis, to understand the best time to sell the flight tickets with higher or lower prices,
so, helping them to decide properly.
How can airline companies improve their yield management in order to increase their profit without
demand analysis? According to the OpenStax College, economists have defined the term demand as
the amount of some good or service consumers are willing and able to purchase at each price . . . [and]
based on needs and wants . . . [and] based on an ability to pay (2014, Demand for Goods and Services
section, para. 1). Thus, is possible to consider the demand analysis as a useful tool which airline
companies can adopt to fully understand the main microeconomic aspects that are being affected by
the behavior of their customers and also, their final results.
This paper intends to examine whether the elasticity of demand plays a role in profit maximization,
whether the practice of business behavior pricing is reflected in the principles, and how price
discrimination helps airline companies to reach their objective in profit maximization.
A way to comprehend the connection between the elasticity of demand and the profit maximization, it
is needed first to conceptualize the demand in terms of economic

Waltz Compare And Contrast
I am the narrator as a child. It is the evening, and both my parents are home. As it nears my bedtime,
my father and I begin to waltz. I can smell the alcohol on my father s breath. The fact that I am able to
identify the smell shows that my father is no stranger to alcohol. The waltz is difficult for me, as I
spend much of the dance hanging onto him tightly. This symbolizes that the relationship between my
father and myself, like the waltz, can be difficult at times. The waltz would be better described as a
romp, as we are knocking into shelves in the kitchen and making a mess. My mother is watching us
and is clearly unamused by the mess we re making. However, she does not interfere with the father
son bonding. This shows that my mother understands

conducting the Gram stain to ascertain that the unknown bacterium was a Gram negative bacilli, the
species were inoculated in multiple biochemical tests. The tests that led to the conclusion of a Gram
Negative bacteria were Oxidase, lactose fermentation, MR, VP, Indole, and H2S production. For the
oxidase test, there were two categories one was for positive and negative results of the test. The
positive result had three different types of bacteria while the negative result was the
Enterobacteriaceae family. If the result of the test was positive, then there would have been color
reaction. However after the test was performed in the oxidase test it showed no color reaction which
indicates that the test was negative fitting the Enterobacteriaceae classification. Following was lactose
fermentation test to analyze if the bacterium was capable of fermenting sugar. If the test was negative
the tube was stayed the phenol red and no gas would have been collected by the Durham tube.
However, after being incubated with bacteria, it was observed that the phenol red turned yellow and
gas was collected in the inverted tube, signifying the bacteria grew. The changing of the color
demonstrated that the pH dropped and that the bacteria is able to ferment sugar. Due to the positive
result of the test therefore it narrowed down to a small amount of bacteria. To further narrow the list of

The Importance Of Serving As A Naval Officer
One of the most interesting and, at times, challenging aspects of serving as a Naval Officer is working
with a team of people from a diverse background. The sailors I have worked with come from all over
the United States, and even some from other countries. While this has led to a rich experience, it
sometimes presented a leadership challenge. What I found out quickly was that every sailor
approached his or her service in the Navy slightly different. Some sailors served because a relative
did, some to pay for college, and some joined to see the world. The more I spoke with sailors, the
more I understood the importance for me, as a leader, to not only know the people I was leading, but
also to try to understand their perspective. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He drew on his own experiences, both inside and outside the Navy. Much of what he believed was
based on his wife s experience as a high school teacher. As much as I tried to convince him, it was to
no avail, because he had a set of beliefs about discipline that guided every decision he made.
What I understand know, after reading Thomas Kuhn s The Structure of Scientific Revolutions (1996)
was that his paradigm about discipline was different from mine. In fact, our paradigms were what
Kuhn (1996) describes as incommensurable. The idea of incommensurability accounts for the
different way that my commander and I viewed the world (Kuhn, 1996). Our paradigms about
discipline were so different that we could not even really have a conversation about it without one of
us getting angry or frustrated. At the time I did not understand this concept, and it left me confused
about how he could approach a situation in a way that I viewed as harsh and unfair. Eventually, we
were able to understand each other, and move forward, and eventually work together to find the best
solution to future problems. We came to an understanding that we felt differently sometimes, but
began to try to view the situation from each other s point of view. Had I possessed the knowledge that
I do now about Kuhn s ideas, I would have immediately understood the problem, and been able to
articulate my views to him and help us both understand that

8 in C minor, Op. 13 composed in 1798 focussing on musical features such as melody, thematic
content, rhythm, form and structure and harmony. This sonata has been chosen for analysis as it is the
most popular Beethoven sonata within the performance circuit, as it is a well known piece worldwide.
Secondly, Beethoven developed Sonata form, adding more thematic contrast and contrasting melodies
reflecting his own personal struggles with his progressive loss of hearing and also his failures in his
love life which all contributed to the passion and despair that is depicted within the sonatas during his
second compositional stage in his career.
Firstly, I will discuss the methods used in order to analyse the Form and Structure of the piece. The
emphasis in analysis was often given to the form and structure of the piece, especially during the
nineteenth century as this allows performers to gain knowledge more directly regarding the overall
style of the piece. The sonata is composed in Sonata form and is separated into three movements,
firstly the Grave Allegro di molto e con brio movement, followed by the Adagio Cantabile middle
movement and finally the Rondo Allegro movement. There are different meanings to the word
structure in music, the first is to do with locating the different movements or the different sections of
the piece and the second is to look at how the piece has been put

Advice To Youth Satire
Twain s Terrible Tips: Analytical Essay of Advice to Youth In Mark Twain s Advice to Youth he is
giving advice to the parents of children through satire. Though it may seem he is speaking directly to
the children, he uses horatian satire to address the parents and express what he believes to be the
problems of how they are raising their children. Children are being raised to always do the right thing,
though their parents know they will eventually make mistakes. Twain was trying to change this
approach in parenting. Instead of teaching children to be superior, the children should be taught how
to be a successful adult. All children are going to disobey, lie, and make mistakes. Mark Twain s
satirical approach is meant to show parents that children should be prepared to be an adult, instead of
having to learn everything the hard way. In Advice to Youth Twain uses techniques like irony, reversal,
and understatement to subtly hint that parenting needs to change. Irony is a great tool to use, because
it lightens the mood and brings humor into the story. By using irony, Twain can say the opposite of

getting up with the lark means getting up very early in the morning, but Twain reverses this belief by

One project which could have potentially provided crucial insight for how to transition power back to

to shut it down because he had no control over it. When the program was transferred to the DOD,
Rumsfeld went as far as excluding former team members from joining the new team because they
were not pentagon people. Tensions both within and outside the DOD had already established a

Anti Transcendentalism In The Scarlet Letter
The Scarlet Letter, written by Nathaniel Hawthorne in the 1800s, takes place in a New England
Puritan society in the 1600s. Hawthorne was an anti transcendentalist, the great nephew of John
Hathorne, who believed that all humans have an innate darkness within them. Hathorne was the only
judge who did not apologize for the Salem Witch Trials. The basis of anti transcendentalism also
included that the forest/nature is evil because that is where the devil lives, and that society was good
because it kept humans from giving in to their evil natures. Hawthorne uses symbolism, a literary
device that uses objects and people to stand for something outside themselves, throughout the book to
depict and explain many events. In his novel, The Scarlet Letter, ... Show more content on

Chillingworth and Dimmesdale were discussing herbs, and the conversation quickly took a turn. Soon,
they were talking about what happens to one s guilt when they die. For example, if weeds grow on a
grave, is it the guilt that has sprung up from the sinful heart? They also debated on reasons why a man
might hide his guilt, all hypothetical of course. The two men, hearing a child s laughter, stopped their
conversation to see who it was. Pearl and Hester were in the graveyard below. Pearl picked a handful
of burrs, which stand for guilt that connects Hester to Dimmesdale. Hawthorne explains, ... she
arranged them along the lines of the scarlet letter that decorated the maternal bosom... with a bright,
but naughty smile of mirth and intelligence, she threw one of the prickly burrs at the Reverend Mr.
Dimmesdale (Hawthorne 122). Through Pearl s act of sticking the burrs on her mother s scarlet letter
and throwing one at Dimmesdale, she is connecting him to the letter, essentially the same sin as Hester
s. The scarlet letter is the sin, and the burrs are the guilt tying Hester and Dimmesdale to one sin.
Right after Pearl threw the burr, Dimmesdale ducked away. Hawthorne writes, The sensitive
clergyman shrunk, with nervous dread, from the light missile. Detecting his emotion, Pearl clapped
her little hands in the most extravagant ecstacy... old Black Man will catch you! He hath got hold of
the minister already (Hawthorne 122). Dimmesdale had a chance to accept and admit his guilt, but he
shied away. Then, when Pearl says the devil had already got to the Reverend, she means that he is

of the major areas that are usually difficult to or less understood in leadership. For instance, it outlines
concepts such as sending and receiving feedback during open communication (Atwater Waldman,
2012, pp. 14). This is a topic in leadership that is regarded as multifarious and difficult to understand,
as it causes exigent dilemmas even at managerial level. The book supports its arguments by citing
evidence based research, case examples, ideas, and practical suggestions. By doing so, it equips
current and future leaders with the necessary tools for preventing communication problems and
solving leadership dilemmas in their organizations. The book, based on its well supported content and
arguments, can be termed as a vital literary work that explains the concept of leadership in many
contexts. The book proceeds to support its arguments and suggestions on leadership with evidence
drawn from relevant psychological theories (Atwater Waldman, 2012, pp. 101). The book provides an

Ketchup Research Papers
Do you like eating something sweet? You may say yes, or no. But no matter what you answer, it s sure
that you will ingest sugar more or less every day, since the main food like rice, wheat and potato are
mostly made of a kind of sugar called starch. Besides of eating main food, most of us will eat some
snacks, like candy, potato chips, or have some soft drinks. It seems this kind of life is normal, but
WTO (2015) suggests that an adult male should reduce the sugar intake to around 8 teaspoons (about
32 grams) and adult woman should reduce to around 6 teaspoons (about 24 grams). What s the
concept about this? We should know a fact that a teaspoon of ketchup contains about 1 teaspoon of
sugar and a bottle of soft drinks contains about 10 teaspoons of sugar. What we eat are now full of
sugar. We re in an age of excessive sugar , which can be harmful to the health. And the situation

This can be associated with a concept named sugar addiction . It seems it s hard to connect sugar with
addiction , because we eat sugar every day, and we tend to connect addiction to something that sounds
more chemical like drugs. But some researches show that sugar addiction really exists. According to
the research of Avena, Rada and Hoebel (2008), sugar can be a kind of addiction material. It is found
that sugar can make human body to release opioids and dopamine, which are two kinds of substances
that are considered as addictable. This article summarizes the evidence of sugar dependence in an
animal model, and the evidence supports the hypothesis that rats can become sugar addicted under
certain circumstances. Also, the research of Wideman, Nadzam and Murphy (2005) indicates the
effects of sugar addiction, withdrawal and relapse are similar to the effects of drugs addiction. From
the researches about the mechanism of being addicted to sugar, we can see that it s possible to let a
man become addicted to

Athletes With A Natural Sense For A Sport

By Jones keeping a constant routine with her training, it can immensely help her keeping herself in a
consistent condition. In her interview with Thomas Hackett with New York Times, Jones said, she lays
out her clothes for the preceding day. Jones strives to be better everyday as with consistent training,
you can only get better. With running races, your body must be ready to go as the gunshot fires,
therefore only training can get her body to go when it needs to.
Secondly, Jones has a mindset of achieving what nobody has achieved. In order for her to fulfill her
goal of winning five gold medal, she must do what nobody else does, to win. Whether it d be a special
stride she has, or a unique run she must do that, in order to win. Jones states in an article with Mark
Starr, with NewsWeek, that she strongly believes that she is given a chance to achieve something
nobody has ever accomplished and she is very confident within herself that she can do it. Downing
states, .....(_). Jones stated in article with Thomas Hackett with New York Times that she aspires to be

Willy Loman Tragic Hero Essay
. HOOK Sophocles defines a tragic hero as a man who fall from a place of high esteem to fate that is
not deserved due to a tragic flaw. These can all be associated with tragedy but the heroic aspect of
these characters is often forgotten.
A: Thesis Willy Loman better fits Miller s definition of a tragic hero, then Joe Keller.
II. Extended Opinion #1 Willy Loman s attempts for his life shows readers a glimpse into the the
remorse, and internal depression Willy experiences invocating Sympathy among viewers more than
Joe Keller.
A. While some may argue that it is more tragic that Joe Keller killed himself expectedly, b the
prolonged suffering Willy felt is far worse, then a man releveling that he killed twenty one pilots.
B. The street is lined with cars. There s not a breath of fresh air in the neighborhood. The grass don t
grow anymore, you can t raise a carrot in the backyard. They should ve had a law against apartment
houses. Remember those two beautiful elm trees out there? When I and Biff hung the swing between
them? (Miller, 5)
a. Willy is explaining his neighborhood to his wife, and remising of the good old days when
urbanization hadn t taken over his city. This is parallel to Willy s internal struggle with depression. Joe
Keller went on with his life after his trial, but Willy had been struggling for years. The time of grief
for Joe Keller is less than Willy Loman causing less time for readers to feel sympathy for him.

he has suddenly pushed over a desk and begun to yell and threaten another student. His teachers

The scenario describes a student who didn t know how to regulate his behaviors and didn t have the
strategies that could help the student deescalate before it would get to the point of being aggressive
and having to be restrained. The student is showing through his aggressive behavior that he doesn t
feel safe in school and could feel as if the teachers were not there to support him due to the restraining
that happens. In the past when I have had experience with students having to be restrained can cause
fear within them and to the people around them. When students get to the point where being restrained
is the only option the student is at the point where they can t comprehend and understand what is
happening around them. Every teacher wants the point of restrain to be the last possibly action but in
order for that strategies need to be implemented prior between the teacher, student, parents,
administration and BCBA. In the past few years, I had worked in a general education classroom that
had three students that would exhibit similar behavior as the students above and with the teacher
working with the BCBA, they began using PBIS in the classroom to help dissolve the issues

And Samsung Group Strategic Management of Apple Inc. and Samsung Group Analyze Apple and Samsung domestic and global environments, industry, internal capabilities, mission and vision. Apple and Samsung, actually, considered as pioneers in technological industry. Every company has chosen different business strategies and models within the marketplace. Apple releases few but highly anticipated high end products while Samsung inundates the market with a wide variety of products. In the beginning, Apple was very careful about its mobile and tablet releases by originally allowing for long development cycles that grow anticipation and showcased new innovations with each new release under Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs, one of the original founders and innovation of Apple Inc, used non cooperative strategy which means he did not want to share the company s software with any other companies. He wanted total exclusion of Apple s software and hardware products. In this way, he gave his companies a competitive advantage because the focus is to satisfy the customer need that no other competition can satisfy which allows the company to have higher prices for their products. Promoting innovation is a big advantage for businesses although the failure rate of the innovation of new products is high (Hill Jones, 2013:495). So, Steve Jobs strategy is blended art and technology in order to provide a simple and streamlined user experience. Thus, in 2007, Apple was in the forefront of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Watching this movie around eight times in the first year it was out I concluded that the deeper meaning of the story could be taken two different ways. In a sense it could be depicting how the European s came and took the Indian s land, just how the Na vi seemed to be Native American in traditions and beliefs. The second way of viewing it could be how the humans are killing the planet and its native population just so they can get recourses and make a profit. Every village looked different from the last and even though it s a short scene it adds more to the world and shows you just how vast and wild the world really is. They each had a leader and distinct face paint and war paint that they prepared for this fight. Jake would singlehandedly unite every tribe to protect the Na vi s way of life. The seconds is near the end of the movie when you see how everything plays out and all the loss of life on both sides. After hearing the stories from both Na vi and human you can t decide who you should root for in the fight. Humans because you are a human of the Na vi because they are also, the victims in the movie. It could also be because they give such a rich background to the Na vi that you can t help but to love their world and way of life. What I like about Avatar is just how beautiful it is to watch. The director and whoever oversaw the CGI did an amazing job depicting the world. They made the world vivid with breathtaking views and amazing new animals and vegetation, each one was unique and vivid with how they seemed to glow in the dark. The health component of health evangelism contains information regarding the risks associated with unhealthy living and provides behavior change strategies designed to correct bad habits and addictions. The evangelistic component of health evangelism introduces people to Jesus. Jesus provides the power to change. Lasting behavior change is impossible for many people who rely on their own efforts, but a relationship with Jesus turns a life around. This is true in the physical realm as well as in the spiritual realm. Health evangelism helps prepare people for baptism by leading them through the several steps that precede baptism. He states how the drivers loved the machines in a completely different way then they loved the land like the previous farmers did. The author does this by stating how the drivers loved the land no more than the banks did, who loved the land only for a profit. As opposed to the previous farmers who had loved the land on a more intimate level as they had lived there all their lives. • 9. Sigmund Freud s Theory Of Psychoanalysis Essay Freud s theological perspective was termed Psychoanalysis. Freud believed people unconsciously repressed information, and that this hidden information was the cause of their distress. The unconscious is the space in your brain where thoughts, feelings, and desires are tucked away, and cannot be readily drawn upon and available to the conscious mind. Because 99% of this methodology is dealing with the unconscious, Freud believed that success could not be reached by the individual alone, rather they need someone trained in the ways of Psychoanalysis to help them. In contrast, the conscious mind is all of the things we are thinking and feeling now; it is information that is easily accessible to us. There is also this idea of a preconscious, where while we are not currently thinking of that information, if we want it, it is there and can be pulled up when we are ready to attend to it. Psychotherapy was often a many year process where various methods and theories within his theory of Psychoanalysis were considered and practiced. One of these theories is that of psychosexual development. Psychosexual Development As one grows and develops it is often times clear they pass through difference stages of development; for Freud, his focus was psychosexual development. What I found out quickly was that every sailor approached his or her service in the Navy slightly different. What I understand know, after reading Thomas Kuhn s The Structure of Scientific Revolutions (1996) was that his paradigm about discipline was different from mine. In fact, our paradigms were what Kuhn (1996) describes as incommensurable. The idea of incommensurability accounts for the different way that my commander and I viewed the world (Kuhn, 1996). Though it may seem he is speaking directly to the children, he uses horatian satire to address the parents and express what he believes to be the problems of how they are raising their children. Children are being raised to always do the right thing, though their parents know they will eventually make mistakes. Twain was trying to change this approach in parenting. Instead of teaching children to be superior, the children should be taught how to be a successful adult. All children are going to disobey, lie, and make mistakes.
