Existentialism in Art
Existentialism is highly regarded when it comes to artists and artwork. Sartre is a well known
prominent advocate in the post war period. Sartre wrote essays about artists work which helped
viewers translate philosophy into visual art and by doing this viewers are able to understand the
reasons behind the artwork and along with the understanding comes a deeper appreciation for
the art. If man is unexplainable it is because we make ourselves so if he is indefinable it is
because at first he is nothing (Sartre) he must create who he will be.( www.theartstory.org)
Sartre spoke these words to the artwork of the post war period. Jean Dubuffet and Wols art work
is able to address the coexistence of mind and body on which humans need. Ponty believes that
art does not have to be perfect and symmetrical its science does not have to be exact as long as it
captures the eye of the observers than it has done its job correctly. Existentialismin art is for the
artist to be completely free with every stroke of the hand. The art of the artist is dependent on the
time and place in which the artist is born. Following the first and second World Wars, the decades
of fighting and relentless political turmoil it comes as no surprise that a philosophy that invokes
man, the individual s existence at its core had such an extensive following. This is why
existentialist art flourishes after times of war because people want to express their feeling of
freedom and the importance of the individual.

Chemistry Lab On And Electric Vehicle
I ve learned so much from working and competing in Science Olympiad. There were four
competitions that were scheduled for me to compete in: Forensics, Chemistry Lab, Game On and
Electric Vehicle. There was a lot of preparation and commitment that had to be put in. A slight
mishap happened in Forensics we found out that only two teams could compete, so my team had to
drop out , ChemistryLab was mainly basic kinetics and gas laws during GameOn we had to learn
Scratch and then use that knowledgeto create a game, The last event was Keltic Vehicle, in this
event we had to pre design a vehicle. It would be scored by how accurate it was. I am glad I was
able to pick the events to see if would really enjoy that class or occupation.... Show more content on

It helped working together because we could share ideas to each other. The Scratch program was
simple and easy to master. We did really well at studying and mastering the program.
There were some issues with designing the background and characters. The limited time made it
hard to make a complicated and interesting game. The game wasn t as accurate as we had hoped
but it was one of my favorites. We also actually knew what we were doing. With the knowledge
in Scratch I know that I ll do better next year. Doing gome on made me realise how much I
enjoyed programming, and I know that skill will come in handy later in life.
For Electric Vehicle I learned that time is very important with designing and programming but
working on the vehicle was different we remodeled it about three times to make it work
correctly and stop swerving to the left. The rules were simple: make the vehicle come to a
complete stop when it hits the set distance. Our way of building the vehicle was to base it on a
click system; in the system we had buttons that had a certain amount of time it would make the
motors go for. The rules stated that the vehicle had to be between nine to twelve meters , (in
distance of which it could travel), but at the competition it was eleven meters. When preparing for
the distance runs we had to figure out how many clicks it took to go one meter. Unfortunately, it
was a little more complex; it accelerated so it didn t go at a linear rate,

Barnett Shale Case Study
The Barnett Shale in southeastern New Mexico and West Texas was deposited during the
Mississippian period (Osagean to Chesterian) in a basinal setting (Hass, 1953; Lane, 1974;
Hamilton and Asquith, 2001; Broadhead, 2006; Ruppel and Kane, 2006; Osterlund, 2012).
Deposition was below storm wave base and also beneath the oxygen minimum zone (OMZ)
(Gutschick and Sandberg, 1983; Ruppel and Kane, 2006; Miall, 2008). Yurewicz (1977)
estimated water depths between 300 to 750 ft (90 and 230 m) for the age equivalent Rancheria
Formation in New Mexico. A modified sea level curve (Figure 1) Ross and Ross 1987) suggests
that Barnett deposition (Osagean to Chesterian) occurred during a second order sea level highstand
with multitude of third order sea level

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Antibiotics And Streptococcus...
Some common pathogens that cause HEENT infections are H. influenzae, Streptococcus
pneumoniae, and Staphyloccoccus aureus. All three pathogens can cause conjunctivitis, H.
influenza and Streptococcus pneumoniae are the main two pathogens that lead to acute otitis media
(AOM), and H. influenzae and Staphylcoccus aureus are known to cause sinusitis (Cash Glass,
2014). I would recommend a limited use of antibiotics in treatment of these diseases and other
unconfirmed bacterial illness, due the increase chance of antibiotic resistance. Symptom
management may be all that is required, and most children will improve without being prescribed
antibiotic therapy. Watchful waiting for 48 72 may be the best choice to allow the patient to
improve without antibiotic treatment (Cash Glass, 2014). As providers, getting a whole history of
the presenting symptoms and the duration of the symptoms will lead to better treatment outcomes
for the patient.
Antibiotics should only be used in the pediatric population when there is a known presence of a
bacterial infection and the benefits will outweigh the harms of administering the antibiotic (Murray
Amin, 2014). The practice of prescribing antibiotics when not necessary leads to drug resistance and
adverse reactions, which is a major public health concern in the pediatric population. In the United
States, it is estimated that well over 50 million ineffective and unnecessary antibiotic prescriptions
are written for children each

The Status Of A Woman Essay
I d like to start my Essay with famous quote of Virgina Woolf, which goes as, Women have
served all these centuries as looking glasses possessing the magic and delicious power of
reflecting the figure of man at twice it s natural Size The topic that I ve chosen for my essay is
The Status of A Woman in South Indian or specifically Malayalam Cinema. The first question
the arises in my mind while watching any Malayalam movie is why does the nationally and
internationally acclaimed Malayalam or for that matter any South Indian Cinema fail to
represent women s experiences, Why are The Female leads just subjected to basic chores, or as
an object of desire? Me being a Woman find it very disturbing to see woman being labelled in the
same umbrella. Indian cinema has always been under the line of fire for its potrayal of women
as objects of desire. Be it in the case of Mandakini, Parveen Babi or the current crop of actresses.
From Sheila Ki Jawaani to Munni ki Badnaami , its usually women who are utilized as objects of
desire and sexual objects. The situation is no different in Indian culture where In reality the birth
of a girl child is frowned and looked down upon with disrespect in some parts of India and
shockingly even among elite and educated Indians, whereas the Birth of a boy is celebrated.
Indian Cinema as a whole is the biggest culprit here as the reach and impact by Commercial films
is the most and it is very disheartening that such an industry still uses or turns

Tsar Nicholas Ii
Nicholas II abdicated the throne in 1917 up until then, the Russian Royal family had ruled for over
three hundred years. Throughout this period, they faced many problems and uneasy predicaments,
a lot of these centering on Nicholas II as Tsar. A combination of long and short term problems led
to the decline and eventual fall of the Romanov dynasty. Tsar Nicholas II ignored these issues,
staying true to his coronation vow to uphold Autocracy, and therefore played a critical role in the
plummet of the Empire.
A flaw in Tsar Nicholas II Autocratic style of ruling was his conflicting personality. He was a
family orientated man, and they often took priority over ruling and looking after his country
especially his son, Alexei who suffered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Russian people also resented the influence Gregory Rasputin had over Alexandra, The people
viewed him as immoral and he brought huge disrepute on the Romanov family. The impacts of The
War placed an unbearable on Russia s weak government and economy, the improper handling of
these affairs turned the people against the Tsar and the growth of political opposition to the Tsar a
direct link in the downfall of the empire.
The effects of World War One on Russia were profound. Russia s once remarkable financial
stability was demolished by the War, the disruption of their transport system, the shortage in food
supplies and the rapidly rising price in supplies created a foundation for a revolution, and also, a
considerable loss in confidence of the Tsar. On the 23rd February, International Women s Day, the
women of Petrograd led a riot through the workers districts. They were fed up with waiting for
bread, often waiting outside bakeries overnight to be first in line. This chaotic riot turned into a
revolution when chief of the military district, General Khabalov when he ordered his troops to fire

The Failure Of Power In Animal Farm, By George Orwell
Imagine a world where the people holding power always did what was good for everyone. As
history has taught us, this doesn t always happen. Animal Farm, by George Orwell, is a complex
story about the dangers of too much government power, and the ones in power are definitely not
doing things for the good of others. When the pigs take control of the farm, they become greedy,
dishonest, and deceitful. Orwell lived in Europe during the time of the Russian Revolution, when
there were countless dictatorships around the world. He wrote this story to symbolize (and mock)
the Russian Revolution; which includes Karl Marx, Leon Trotsky, Joseph Stalin, and Vyacheslav
Molotov. Orwell uses this story, where the oppressed become the oppressors, to warn the world
about the power of the government. He also warns the reader not to let the corrupt control and not
stand by and let it happen. He shows that the abuse of absolute power can lead to corruption,
violence, and finally, chaos.
The first warning Orwell introduces to the reader is that standing by passively while a would be
tyrant rises to power will end up in a birth of a dictatorship and a loss of personal freedom. At the
beginning, the animals attempt to establish a democracy where everyone can vote and have a say,
but when the animals vote for Snowball as their leader, Napoleon becomes jealous and runs
Snowball off the farm with his vicious dogs, which symbolizes the military that a dictator uses. All
of this represents how

Theme Of Self Reliance In The Glass Castle
To be self reliant means to rely on your own powers and resources rather than those of others. I
find that Self reliance is a recurring theme in The Glass Castle. Jeanette Walls and her siblings
had to be self reliant to make up for the lack of basic care they received from their parents. Walls
was resilient, strong, and continued to grow despite the struggles she faced. While driving
through the Californian desert the Walls family comes across a Joshua tree. The tree grew
despite the whipping wind and scorching heat of the desert. Walls mother, Rose Mary thought
the tree was beautiful because of the struggle to grow. It s the Joshua tree s struggle that gives it
it s beauty (Walls 38). The Joshua tree symbolizes the struggle to grow in the midst of chaos.
Walls struggles helped her to become self reliant, strong, resilient, and unique. Walls and the tree
are great examples of the unique beauty that can come from dysfunction. Walls was left to her
own devices for the majority of her childhood. Rex and Rosemary put their wants before their
children. Rex was an alcoholic whose addiction became worse over time. Rosemary was an artist
who seemed like she didn t even want to be a mother. Both parents were irresponsible and
neglectful. Walls describes an event of when she was badly burned while trying to make herself
something to eat. As walls counties to describe the event of being burned and staying in the
hospital, the reader gets a glimpse of what the family is like. Wall s parents believed their kids
should be self reliant so that the outcome of their persistence is worth the struggle they
experienced. The Wall s wanted their children to fend for themselves and overcome all the
difficulties they encountered. Many of the struggles that Walls encountered as a child was
because of her parents negligence. Rex and Rose Mary created a life of imagination and fantasy
to cover up how bad their life really was. Rex was to blame for majority of the fantasy. FBI
agents, demon hunting and the glass castle, are all examples of the imagination and fantasy Rex
created for his children. Rosemary embraced the wild life too, but even she saw through some of
Rex s fantasies. The Walls children learned to fend for

The Baseball Of The Nfl
American Football was voted the most popular sport in America by 20% over baseball(ESPN
Harris Poll). The NFL today has tv ratings off the charts, breaking records every Super
Bowl(Coming Soon.com). But what started out as an American staple, actually was a mix of
different sports. The first football game was actually just an altered soccer game between Rutgers
and Princeton, but no one would realize the revolution it would bring to America. It then evolved
with the help of rugby. Twenty years later the NFL was born and football went from a simple
college game to a professional sport. The NFL today began as a simple concept which blossomed
into an American tradition.

Lombardi revolutionized the game with his leadership, and maybe the most famous play drawn up
in NFL history, the Packers Sweep . The NFL was growing to be something huge in America then,
a new league came along. The American Football League began in 1959, looking to become a rival
league to the NFL(Pro Football HOF).
The American Football League or AFL, was founded in 1959 by Lamar Hunt, a sportsman(Pro
Football HOF). He looked to create a rival league to the already emerged NFL after failed to gain
ownership of an NFL franchise. The NFL first looked at the AFL as if the would be a yet just a
pest on their arm, and a waste of time. Although, the AFL lived past the expectancy the NFL gave
them and they had a bit of growth in their league with new teams and relocations. But, the NFL
and AFL got into a big disagreement over college players entering the draft. The NFL thought they
d haul them in like nothing until surprisingly the AFL Kansas City Chiefs signed Heisman Trophy
winning running back, Mike Garrett. This turned out to be huge for the AFL because Garrett
would end up helping the Chiefs reach the AFL championship, and a Super Bowl berth. With the
surprising rise of the AFL, the NFL ended up shockingly asking for a merger agreement to become
1 league. This

Abiotic Factors Of Tropical Rainforest
Mahayla Griggs
Abiotic Factors
Tropical Rainforest make up a total of 6% of all of earth s land surface. Not surprisingly though, it
produces 40% of all of earth s oxygen. There are 4 levels to the tropical rainforest; emergent, upper
canopy, understory, and forest floor. The rainforestreceived it s name because of it s self watering
system. Plants release water into the atmosphere through transpiration. This moisture usually has no
place to go which creates a thick cloud cover over the rainforest causing the humid, hot,
atmosphere. In the the rainforests are large rivers that branch off into smaller rivers that help to
provide water for the entire forest.
Location/ Landscape
Rainforest are located around the equator. Known for their hot humid climates rainforest easily
thrive around the equator without issues.
Ecosystem Services
Tropical rainforest have many ecosystem services that they provide for the earth daily. Because of
the large amounts of plants, tropical rainforest are capable of helping to clean the air of pollutants.
Plants take in the bad air and produce air that is not filled with harmful pollutants. Tropical
rainforests also increase rainfall. The H2O that is released into the air has to go somewhere
eventually. It can not just stay in the cloud that surrounds the forest forever. So, it comes back
down as precipitation. The tropical rainforest allows humans to benefit financially. Humans are
constantly cutting down rainforest to use the lumber to

How Does Theseus Value The Giver
The Greeks valued Theseus nobility and bravery, and even today, his traits would be still be
valued. We live in a world where so much time is spent on building a future for ourselves, that it
doesn t give us much time to be adventurous. This is seen in a number books, including Divergent
and The Giver. Divergent revolves about this character who looked down on for being different in
a community where all is standardized. In The Giver, everything is regulated, but one character has
a special gift which makes him stand out. These books are fairly modern, which makes me believe
that Theseustraits would still be valued. Bravery is not something that is common and sticking to
your morals can be difficult when you live in such an opinionated world.

consisting of fine ash and gravel sized rock debris. Erosion proved to be a positive process for
plants, improving their habit. Vast trees that once covered the forest are gone, as new sunlight

Peekay Character Analysis
Peekay s Trait Formation Life does not always take the easy path for all of us. Bryce Courtey
writes about Peekay, who is an English boy, that does not have the easiest life although it may
seem like it. Peekay goes through a lot of heartbreaks, in the form of death, but ends up coming
out on top. With Peekay traveling around and forming new relationships he grasps the traits
everyone would love to have. Peekays independence could not have come from nowhere, with
him being alone most of his life, or being with older people who already could take care of
themselfs, he had to take care of himself. Most of the time when Peekay got picked on he had to
stand up for himself because no one was there to help him out or no one care. I was a fairly quiet
sort of a guy and had no trouble getting on with things (333). In this he is saying how he always
could fit in because he had to uses his camoflage, just like in his prevouis boarding school. As he
grows up Peekay learns to live life on his on time. Peekay had a strict schedule that started at five
thirty for boxing, at seven he had breakfast, talked, and had pianolessons, at eleven he would go to
Miss Bornstein s house for a game of chess, and he would spend the rest of his day with Mrs.
Boxall or Grandpa (381 384). Peekay did not have his mom to take him anywhere due to being poor

Impact of over ten years of war on the military

Bush, declared the war against the Taliban, more precisely against Osama Bin Laden, Who was the

The service members are not the only ones that the feel pain of these injuries and illnesses alone.
Most of them are married and have dependent children. Some service members are married to
another service member, making more difficult for the children, when both parent are deployed.
During the past thirteen years these families have suffered extensive and multiple deployments,
frequent relocations, and the very real threat of harm occurring to their loved one. Adversities and
stress do not necessarily remit when service members return home. Dealing with with and
managing a service member s physical or psychological disability, occupational and financial
challenges, and altered family roles represent common and sometimes permanent stressors.
Definitely, many of the children in these families have never known life without the difficult
realities of war.
Military Families face a number of challenges before, during, and after deployment. The issues
start when service member bring the news of a possible deployment to the spouse and the rest of
the family. It starts with emotions, such as fear because of the possibility of the service member
no coming back and anger for the reason that the spouse will have to stay at home dealing with
everything alone. As the day of the deployment gets closer, the service member start a period of

The Life Of Nicole s Spiritual Journey
Nicole is a 21 year old female, who grew up in the church all of her life. Her parents held very
traditional views, which was reflected in her upbringing. She was dedicated as a baby, she
attended church every Sunday, was baptized at the early age of seven years old, and accepted
Christ as the head of her life and the foundation of her existence. She was active in the church very
early on, participating in Sunday school, the usher board, and singing in the youth choir. Even so,
Nicole s spiritual journey has not been smooth sailing as she has encountered many detours along
the way. Oftentimes turning to secular behaviors and activities, seeking self gratification, not
attending church for years at a time, and ultimately becoming a single unwed mother. Through it
all, the highs and the lows, Nicole is still a devout Christian; on a journey to rededicate her life to
Christ, removing unhealthy people and situations from her life, focusing on God, and fully going
after the life that God intended for her. Over the course of religious and faith development, there
will be times that each individual steps outside of the will of God, as no one is perfect. Through
these obstacles and rebellious acts, God corrects and reforms one s behaviors as the individual
draws nearer to him. In this way, faith development is similar to the social learning theory. The
social learning theory deals with observational learningand how individuals learn through imitating

How To Make Walt Disney World
If you can dream it, you can do it, Walt Disney once said. This man certainly stuck to his word
and proved it with all he did, but especially by creating Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
Walter Elias Walt Disney came into the world on Thursday, December 5th, 1901, in Hermosa
Illinois as a product of Flora and Elias Disney. Flora and Elias Disney had 5 children together,
with Walt being the 4th born last boy the couple had together. As a child and teen, Walt loved

Secrets of Disney are truly shocking and intriguing. Every year, 2.5 million of those iconic
mouse ears are sold; when placed end to end would stretch across a span of 175 miles. Most
people come to Disney World for the rides, but others come just for the food, Each year they
gobble or drink more than 75 million cokes, 300,000 pounds of popcorn, 10 million hamburgers, 6
million hot dogs, 9 million pounds of French Fries, 13 million bottles of water, 1 million pounds of
watermelon, 2.6 million chocolate covered Mickey Mouse ice cream bars, and 1.6 turkey

Marijuana Should Be Legal
Marijuana is a greenish gray mixture of the dried, shredded leaves and flowers of Cannabis sativa
the hemp plant (What is marijuana?) Researchers say, Marijuana is the third most popular
recreational drug in America, behind only alcohol and tobacco, and has been used by nearly 100
million Americans (About Marijuana). The main mind altering chemical in marijuana is delta 9
tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC (Marijuana). Marijuana is not harmful to the human body; there has
never been a known death because of marijuana. Marijuana is also known as; cannabis, weed, and

Marijuana is illegal because it gives you a high, and being high is considered under the influence.
Therefore, if tobacco is legal then marijuana should be too. Some say that both tobacco and
marijuana have damaging effects. Those who smoke both cigarettes and marijuana suffer the
compound consequences of two different drugs destroying their health simultaneously. Marijuana
users are widely viewed as nonproductive drains on society. Cigarette smokers are frowned upon
due to the effects of second hand smoke, the litter caused by discarded cigarette butts and the drain
on the health system caused by their addiction things. Marijuana contains 50 to 70 percent more
carcinogenic hydrocarbons than tobacco smoke, and thus has the potential to cause cancer.
However, Donald Tashkin, M.D., professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at
UCLA in Los Angeles, has found that marijuana use is not linked to an increase in lung, head or
neck cancers. Tashkin surmises that this is due to a chemical within marijuana that kills off cells

Analysis of Chapters 1 through 8 of Great Expectations
Plot and Setting The plot starts out with a little boy name Phillip Pirrip. It is a first person
narrative about a boy back in the nineteenth century. The first eight chapters deal mostly with Pip
s childhood years. It also deals with who Pip is, and his family. In the beginning of the story Pip
introduces himself, and introduces his dead parents. He is in the graveyard, and then a scary
looking man comes up. The man threatens him. The plot of the story I think is good because it deals
a lot with the struggles in a child. He has no one to turn to. The author really helped us relate to the
story.

Miss Havisham secretly wants Estella to break Pip s heart. She is a very obscure lady. Biddy is a
character that cares very much for Pip. She understands Pip more than Pip does. Pip doesn t like
Biddy, because she is to common. She is the better girl though.
Personal Response So far I really enjoy the book. Charles Dickens really pulls me into the book.
He uses great figurative language that makes you feel sorry for a character. The people in this
book seem so innocent and harmless. Well, except the guy that threatened Pip. They all also
seem to live hard lives. They don t have all the benefits that we have today. They have to scrounge
around for stuff we never would have to scrounge around for. What is really neat about it, is that
they get an enjoyment out of life. They are not well off either. I can t wait to read on further into
Charles Dickens novel.
Vocabulary So far in this novel there is no vocabulary that really comes to mind. I though I
would use this section to talk about figurative language. Charles Dickens uses a lot of figurative
language. He says that when Pip goes up into his room, he is in the dark. Literally that means he
does not have a candle, so therefore he is in the dark. Figuratively we can interpret it in many
ways. One way is to say that Pip isn t a very smart kid. He is and ignorant person. When someone
says that someone is in the dark, they usually mean that they are naГЇve. Later on in the story, Pip

Description And Rationale Of Research Methodologies
III. RESEARCH METHODS USED IN STUDY
A. Description and rationale of research methodologies The focus of my research relied on
numerous different sources, including surveys of the city, interviewing the manager, questioning
the employees while asking them to fill out a survey. I used various resources to obtain my
information using surveys, interviews, and questioning the employees of the store. The primary
goal of the survey was to enhance my understanding of the imperative issues they face when trying
to motivate them to work hard. In other words, I tried to understand how the workers viewed
management and analyze the different ways I can inspire them to be more productive.
Forms of Research Goals of Research
Secondary1.Gather background information on the store s services and operations. 2.Gain insight
into the current market segments and growing sectors of the population, along with generational
data. 3.Find out what customers and the market think about the store s current state.
Primary1.Information about the store s current productivity enhancing program, target market, and
other basic yet necessary numerical and qualitative data to develop a conception of the current state
of the store 2.Find out the manager s opinion on employee engagement strategies and how it affects
the stores productivity. 3.What customers and current employees think of the management and find
possible ways to create a more productive environment for the employees to work in.

England for medical treatment, but never bothered to return to Jamestown. Both colonies were
helped by the native Americans by using their workforce and receiving supplies and food from

Quote Response
He recognized that he was feeling something he had never experienced before: the desire to live
in one place forever. With the girl with the raven hair, his days would never be the same again.
(Coelho 8)
Personality: This quote shows Santiago s determination to marry the merchant s daughter since he
knows that the father probably would not let her marry someone like him, a shepherd who s
always away selling his wool.
Conflict/s: I think that this contributes to his conflicts because his love for her will make him
reluctant to seek his personal legend.
Foreshadowing/Guess/Question: I am guessing that the merchant girl might hold him back from
leaving Andalusia.
One afternoon, on a visit to his family, he had summoned up the courage to tell his father that he
didn t want to become a priest. That he wanted to travel. (Coelho 11)
Personality: This quote tells me Santiago is stubborn. Stubborn because he refuses to follow his
father s higher judgement to become a priest as well as going to the heights of becoming a
shepherd which is looked down upon.
Conflict/s: Because of his nature, he went against his dad s wishes.
Foreshadowing/Guess/Question: I think that he will value his dreams to travel more than the love
he has for the merchant girl.
The people who come here have a lot of money to spend, so they can afford to travel, his father
said. Amongst us, the only ones who travel are the shepherds.
Well, then I ll be a shepherd! (Coelho 11)
Personality: Santiago is very inquisitive because he wants to know more about the world he lives in
through traveling.
Conflict/s: In disobeying his father, he lost the girl he liked and had to sell his herd of sheep. He
had to sacrifice a lot being a shepherd.
Foreshadowing/Guess/Question: I am guessing he won t stop at nothing to achieve his personal

Goodman Brown Allegory
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me (Psalm 23:4, NASB). This is the verse Christians use
when referring to dark times or when their faith as Christians is being challenged by non believers
and the forces of Satan himself. This is the mentality seen in Nathaniel Hawthornes Young
Goodman Brown. Young Goodman Brown is an allegory about the Christian walking through the
wilderness and facing temptation from the Devil, along with many other symbolic images that go
along with the allegory. However, instead of becoming a stronger Christian through his journey
through the wilderness, he becomes bitter and prideful from his experience and lives... Show more

The woods represent the devil s playground, a journey into sin and darkness; a path Brown takes
on his journey. He had taken a dreary road, darkened by all the gloomiest trees of the forest,
which barely stood aside to let the narrow path creep through, and closed immediately behind
(Hawthorne p.387). As mentioned earlier, Brown wants to strengthen his faith with Christ and
Believes a journey into the forest is the best way to do it. However, he does not anticipate
members of his own community participating in black masses and other sinful acts in the forest.
Kim Becnel delves deep into the historical context of Young Goodman Brown and discusses how
trying to look for the evil in others can lead to destruction, as he explains in the following quote
Young Goodman Brown is set in this dark period of Puritan history. The story makes reference to
two historical figures from the witch trials, Goody Cloyse and Goody Cory, as well as to another
historical incident, the lashing of a Quaker woman which occurred in Salem in 1693. Reading
Goodman Brown s dissent into darkness and distrust with these references in mind, we are
reminded of the sad reality that an overzealous desire for goodness and purity can be so perverted
as to ultimately result in violence and death (Becnel). Because of this mentality that Brown has, as
Becnel believes, he has been persuaded to believe that the holiest and righteous members of his
municipal have been dancing with the devil himself. Thus, causing him to believe that everyone,
including his own family, contains nothing but evil and wickedness inside them, living out the rest
of his days in skepticism and

Fahrenheit 451 Nature Analysis
In the article Nature , Emerson displays the values of nature, and why man cannot grasp the true
significance of nature without being in solitude. By presenting the real beauty of nature in a
multitude of ways, the author supports his reasoning with valid evidence. Ultimately, the article is
intended to render the reader various thoughts about the value of nature. First and foremost, relating
to the novel Fahrenheit 451, Montag s journey into nature reflects the one depicted by Emerson in
varied ways. For example, Montag took time when he was alone to really look at the stars, is
described by Emerson when he states, If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how

The Tesla Model Of Electric Cars Essay
Over 325,000 reservations have been placed for the upcoming release of the Tesla Model 3. Those
waiting for their new luxury Tesla, however, will need to patiently wait until 2019 for their electric
cars.
There is fantastic news when it comes to the variety of electric cars though. There are some
seriously compelling electric cars currently on the market that you can get behind the wheel of.
There are even some new models to be launched onto roadways later this year as well.
Another bonus for electric car fans is that the three year wait period is just long enough to lease a
new vehicle while waiting in vain. The wealth of options you can consider in regards to the
$35,000 Model 3 opening price is very encouraging. Especially if you re wetting your taste buds for
electric cars with multiple companies throwing their green thumb into the mix.
It will be hard to compete with the Tesla Model S and Model 3 though. The Model S is designed
with safety, luxury, and hair blowing exhilaration in mind. The Tesla all electric powertrain that
will bring you from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds is pretty mind blowing. The Tesla Model S also
comes with an autopilot feature.
The Model S 70 has an MSRP price tag of $71,200 and the AWD 70D is $76,200. This is a far cry
from the value you get with the Ford Focus Electric and Nissan Leaf. Even the BMW 330e and i3
are less expensive.

Analysis Of The Movie The Rye
Catcher in the Rye was a phenomenal work of literature. The novel has been able to withstand
the test of time without ever making it to the big screen. Present day with a movie of the
bestselling novel is coming soon, every detail must amaze the avid reader of the book. This
includes, lighting, a flawless director, a cluster of A list actors, outstanding scenery, and last but
certainly not least, a soundtrack that will knock the viewer of the movie into a sense of
amazement. A soundtrack can completely devastate a movie. If there is a scene where a
character in the scene is crying because they lost their friend, it would definitely be strange if
music in the background was Can t Touch This by M.C. Hammer. Soundtracks tell the audience
what to feel whether it would be fear or excitement. With a soundtrack playing a critical position
in a movie, the songs that have been chosen have transcended more than just the scenes they are
played in, and turned into the embodiment of some of the major themes in the movie. A great
selection for the opening song would be a song by Chance the Rapper called Finish Line . In this
song, Chance the Rapper appears to just spout sentences that just come to head like the stream of
consciousness like Holden. When Holden goes on his particular tangents he usually is trying to get
to a specific point, a finish line. Coincidentally, Holden during the entire book has been trying to
come to some finish line . With this song as the opening, it

How Is Chris Brander Presented In Just Friends
The characters in the 2005 film, Just Friends are a very interesting bunch. They are all different
in many ways but, somehow share some of the same qualities. The movies stars Ryan Reynolds,
who portrays Chris Brander. Chris Brander is a well rounded character who somehow evolves as
the movie goes on. Chris was in love with Jamie Palamino portrayed by Amy Smart; Jamie was a
somewhat a flat characterwho did not change much at all. A character whose transformation was
similar to Chris s was Dusty Dinkleman who was portrayed by Chris Klein. While it seems that
Jamie and Samantha James have a one similarity by the name of Chris Brander. The main
character Chris Brander was an evolving character he went through some pretty big changes both
mentally and physically. As the movie starts, Chris is seen as this overweight, unpopular nerd in
high school. He is in love with his best friend Jamie Palamino, a popular girl, who has officially

Alprazolam
One example of a type of benzodiazepine is alprazolam. Alprazolam is a scientifically proven
effective benzodiazepine for generalized anxiety disorders and panic disorders (Griffin, Kaye,

(Griffin, Kaye, Kaye, 2013). Due to its short elimination half life, a prevalent issue found with
alprazolamis that high levels of anxiety occur abruptly after discontinuing the drug (Griffin,

(Xanax, 2014). The presence of an OH group make compounds less lipophilic and thus are

Executive Summary (Benchmark Assessment)
The purpose of the program The nosocomial infection prevention program has been developed to
serve as basic practical resource to all health care individuals, as well as for those who work in the
infection control department in our health care facility. The program will provide helpful

This program will assist our hospital administrators, infection control personnel and, those involved

The target population or audience Disturbing to many is that most infection related deaths are

How Does Macbeth Change Throughout The Play
In the play The Tragedy of Macbeth by William Shakespeare, it starts off describing Macbeth as a
loyal thane of Glamis and very loyal to his king. Throughout the okay, he will transform from this
loyal warrior to a very evil, power hungry tyrant. He did not reach this transformation alone
however, there were a few ugly sisters who helped with this transformation.
Obviously the three witches that are introduced in the beginning play a major role in what Macbeth
and his wife Lady Macbeth would do throughout the play. The play opens up with the Three
Witches being the first to talk, so we meet them very early and actually before anyone else. At
this point, they sort of set the mood of the play by displaying the weather and mood of what s
going on. One way they set the mood of the play with weather is by what they said in Act 1, Scene
1 in the first two lines, When shall we three meet again? In thunder, lightning, or in rain? .
The Three Witches are often referred to as The Weird Sisters by many of the characters. Throughout
the play, the witches lurk around to persuade characters Macbeth and Lady Macbeth to evil

and not paid so much attention to them as he did after they told him he would be named Thane of
Cawdor and ended up being correct. Obviously from here on out, he would listen to them because
he wanted power and if the witches could help him get it, why not let them do it? The witches

He swung his sword, a giant blade bigger than the man wielding it, from atop the horse he rode

the grace of a fencer and the ferocity of a starving lion. Those that saw him fight, friend or foe,

There is a strong contrast in this poem between the old, weary, lonely poet and the apparently
ever youthful, energetic and powerful swans. Yeats journey to Byzantium in Sailing to
Byzantium is due to the fact that he wishes to become immortal, to flee the dreaded progression
of ageing. He rejects Ireland as it is no country for old men and criticizes those who get too
caught up in the wonders of life and who have no concerns about growing old Caught in that
sensual music all neglect, Monuments of unageing intellect . The poet claims that one, namely,
an aged man , can only break free from the spell of ageing if he is allow his spirit to break free A
tattered coat upon a stick, unless soul clap its hands and sing and louder sing . Yeats obviously
wants to bypass old age and become immortal in this poem and begs the sages to allow him to
break away from his body, a dying animal , and to gather him into the artifice of eternity . In both
The Wild Swans at Coole and Sailing to Byzantium, a strong contrast is made. However, in The
Wild Swans at Coole , Yeats merely seems envious of the youthful swans, in contrast to Sailing to
Byzantium where he seems angry with the young who appear to waste their youthfulness. I found
this theme very thought provoking and therefore an entertaining theme to read about.

This theme appears in September 1913 and

Real Estate Aerial Shot Look From the Above
The best view comes from the sky!

This will prove that a view from the sky is unsurpassed and no one can have the potential to deny
this fact. The aerial shot is akin to it. Checking out your property from the above will give you a

How?
The aerial view embraces the ultimate significance when you have to sell your property. Covering

the resale value of the property. It will happen only in the case, when you will hire an expert or

if you rent an amateur or unprofessional person, then it will degrade the value of the property, as

If you ask that whether an aerial photography helps in the competent advertising of your property,

Analysis Of A Lesson Before Dying
I agree with the statement, At the end of A Lesson Before Dying, desolation prevails over
consolation, because the last chapters of A Lesson Before Dying had a negative and depressing
tone. According to Sidney deRogers, He didn t pay any close attention to the black truck with
the gray tarpaulin cover, but he would tell the people at the Rainbow Club that he did feel a cold
chill when the truck went by. Basically, Sidney is saying that he felt that something was awry, or
that something wrong or evil was in that truck. The whole town knew what was happening that
day and everyone had an opinion, whether that opinion was indifferent, uneasy, or disgusted
/sickened by what was going to happen on that day. Grant says that It was a nice day. Blue sky.
Not a cloud, but there was an overlying notion of sorrow and fear that laid over everyone in the
quarter. One could argue that the end of A Lesson Before Dying prevailed with consolation rather
than desolation since according to Paul, He was the strongestman in that crowded room, Grant
Wiggins. Paul s point is that Jefferson died a man as a result of Grant. Despite what someone
might say, I still consider this argument to be wrong considering that Grant is still upset because
Jefferson did not have a Jury of his peers; everyone on that jury was white and had no concern for
Jefferson s life. At the end, it seems to me that Grant feels alone since he has spent much of the
past six months with Jefferson. He developed a strong

Social Cognitive Theory, And Social Cognitive Theory
Social cognitive theory, also known as social learning theory, a theory of learning that focuses on
changes in behaviour that result from observing others (Bandura 2001 as cited in Eggen,Kauchak,
2013). According to Simons(1994, p.43) Social learning Theory is the view of psychologists who
emphasize that behaviour is learned through experiences with the environment and that cognitive
factors influence learning. Albert Bandurais the theorist behind this psychological theory.
According to a survey conducted in 2002, Bandura was ranked as the third most frequently cited
psychologist of all time (Eggen,Kauchak, 2010). Social Cognitive Theory emphasizes the roles of
beliefs, self perceptions, and learner expectations (Eggen,Kauchak.2010). According to social
cognitive theorists learning is viewed as a change in a person s mental processes that stimulates the
capacity to demonstrate different behaviours (Hill, 2002 as cited in Eggen,Kauchak, 2010).
Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) continues to emphasize that learning occurs in a social context and
that much of what is learned is gained through observation. SCT has been applied broadly to such

(Eggen, Kauchak, 2013). A closely related assumption within the SCT is that people have an
agency or ability to influence their own behavior and the environment in a purposeful, goal
directed fashion (Bandura, 2001). In other words, it can be said that those influences take place in
a two directional and reciprocal fashion. Bandura created the Triadic reciprocal causation model
which can be used to explain how learning results from the interactions among three factors: (1)
personal and cognitive factors, (2) behavioural patterns and (3) social environment. Example of
personal factors are self control and

Volcanoes In Ecuador
Ecuador is a small country on the Pacific coast of South America. It is bisected laterally by the
equator, and longitudinally by the Andes. The Andes divide the country s mainland into three
distinct regions, the coast to the west, the mountains, and the rainforest to the east. The Ecuadorian
Andes are extremely volcanic, containings most of the active volcanoes in the Northern Andes
Volcanic Zone. Of these volcanoes, one of the most well known is Cotopaxi. Easily visible and
recognizable from the capital city of Quito, Cotopaxi is one of the most historically active
volcanoes in the country, with eruptions happening on average every 120 years (Aguilera,
Pareschi, Rosi, and Zanchetta, 2004, p. 187). It is also one of the most dangerous... Show more

When the volcano has an eruption, the hot material issued from the crater melts portions of the
glaciers on the summit, inevitably triggering lahars. Cotopaxi is known for having syn eruptive
lahars. According to Aguilera et al, (2004), pyroclastic surges and flows that swept over the
glacier ice cap are probably the most effective at melting large amounts of snow and ice, which
can result in quasi instantaneous release of large masses of water and volcanic debris (p. 165).
About 4,500 years ago, Cotopaxi experienced the Chillos Valley Lahar, the largest debris flow in
the Northern Andes during the Holocene period (Mothes, Hall, and Janda, 1998, p. 233). The total
volume of the lahar is estimated to have been about 3.8 km3, and it travelled about 326 km from
the volcano, all the way to the Pacific Ocean (Mothes et al, 1998, p.

Global Almond Market Vs. California
Part #1 GLOBAL ALMOND MARKET vs. CALIFORNIA S WATER DROUGHT California
Almonds are crunchy, delicious, and healthy and currently are becoming one of the world s
favorite snacks. Almonds are currently consumed about 1000% more than they did a decade ago
by people from around the world and became the most exported crop in the nation s top agriculture
state (While California FightsDrought, Almonds Using More Water Than Residents, 3). In
addition, almonds are tremendously profitable, generating approximately $11 billion to the state s
economy in 2014 alone (Philpott, T., Lurie J., 3). However, the huge success of almonds results a
water crisis in California. The issue of drought in California has continued to worsen since 2011
and one of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to a youtube video from Tandrea, Tree T Pee is proven to save water from 10,000
gallons annually per tree to only using 800 gallons annually per tree. Also, it saves 300% 600%
fuel costs, fertilizers, and herbicides and help grows young trees faster. The secret of this
containment system is forcing the water to focus around a 24 inch diameter and keep the soil
moist rather than sprinkling water in a 10 foot diameter, wasting most of the water (Tandrea,
December 2014). Hence, from my calculation, instead of consuming 1.07 trillion gallons of
water annually in California for almond, farmers could only use 85.6 billion gallons of water
annually in California and also have the benefit of saving fuel costs, fertilizers, and herbicides.
Moreover, engagement of stakeholders is needed to make this solution go smoothly and achieve
success of preventing the drought issue in California to continue. The master plan is to have all
farmers in California to use Tree T Pee to all of their plantations to reduce water usage and
alleviate the issue of drought. In order for this plan to be a reality, several stakeholders need to
work together and engage with each other, which include the government, the farmers, and the
environmentalist. I would start by interacting with several farmers in California directly by going to
their farm and conduct an interview regarding the best way to limit the water usage and

Diagnosis Thyroid Cancer
Diagnosis of Thyroid Cancer: It is important for patients to understand how thyroid cancer is
detected and then officially diagnosed. What usually occurs is that a physician will remove a
thyroid nodule or take a tissue sample of the nodule for futher investigation. A pathologist then
closely examines the tissue sample or nodule under a microscope and decides if the nodule is
benign (95% to 99% of all nodules that are biopsied are benign) or malignant (less than 1% of all
nodules, and about 1% to 5% of nodules that are biopsied)1. The physician and pathologist conclude
whether a diagnosis of thyroidcancer is warranted, and also the type of thyroid cancer the patient
has: papillary, follicular, medullary, or anaplastic. Once a diagnosis

Pharisees Double Standards
Jesus realizes that the Pharisees have a double standard. The Pharisees believe that they are exempt
from the rules listed in the commandments and rely on their lineage for salvation. Jesus notices that
the Pharisees have a strict interpretation of the commandments, which prevents them from seeing
the purpose of the commandments. Before Jesusarrives, John the Baptist says to the Pharisees,
You brood of vipers!...Bear fruit worthy of repentance. Do not presume to say to yourselves, We
have Abraham for our ancestor ; for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children
to Abraham (Matthew 3.7 3.9). John brings to light one of the fundamental teachings of Jesus that
no one is special. He says that everyone is bound to sin, or bear a bad fruit, but it is the repentance...

Like Jesus, John the Baptist, dismisses the importance put on lineage. For Jesus and John, anyone
can be the child of Abraham. John emphasizes the extent of God s power, which the Pharisees
overlook. Additionally, Jesus warns his disciples of the actions of the Pharisees, The scribes and the
Pharisees sit on Moses seat; therefore, do whatever they teach you and follow it; but do not do as
they do, for they do not practice what they teach. They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay
them on the shoulders of others; but they themselves are unwilling to lift a finger to move them
(Matthew 23.2 23.4). He points out the irony of the Pharisees actions. To him, the Pharisees are
hypocrites because they say one thing and do another. According to Jesus, the Pharisees have been
taking shortcuts because of the power they associate with their lineage. They have a strict
understanding of the commandments that they order others to follow, but refuse to obey
themselves. Instead of implementing the lessons found in the commandments, they preached the
commandments to

shown in them. They ban the books because they contain themes that they think teens shouldn t
be able to read. They don t look closely and there are many lessons tens can learn about, by
simply reading books.Like the book Lailah it contains many powerful lessons through a story
that isn t real.Teens should be allowed to read Lailah because it teaches teens how to have
courage in dangerous situations,it shows teens that you shouldn t trust someone even if they

why teens should be able to read this book is because it shows Cessie having courage on a

Comparing Eveline And The Storm
Since the dawn of the Age of Enlightenment, feminism became an ideology and movement that
inspired feminist to establish equal political, economic, cultural and social rights for women.
However, during its first years, women are restrained by the power of men that they cannot have
their own happiness. Particularly in English literature, such as the short story Eveline by James
Joyce and The Storm by Kate Chopin, both authors demonstrate a different type of female
character at their time that follow through the generic cycle of women being the property of
men, as well as their response to the feudal society of male dominance. In Eveline , Eveline is a
19 years old girl with tedious and miserable life. Despite her chance to start a new life with Frank
in Bueno Ayres, she bail out from the opportunity and continue her suffering life, therefore loses her
chance of being content. On the other hand, Calixta from the Storm was able to fulfill her lust; the
basic, instinctual drives personality that is present from birth. It is because their personalities are

  • 3. Existentialism in Art Existentialism is highly regarded when it comes to artists and artwork. Sartre is a well known prominent advocate in the post war period. Sartre wrote essays about artists work which helped viewers translate philosophy into visual art and by doing this viewers are able to understand the reasons behind the artwork and along with the understanding comes a deeper appreciation for the art. If man is unexplainable it is because we make ourselves so if he is indefinable it is because at first he is nothing (Sartre) he must create who he will be.( www.theartstory.org) Sartre spoke these words to the artwork of the post war period. Jean Dubuffet and Wols art work is able to address the coexistence of mind and body on which humans need. Ponty believes that art does not have to be perfect and symmetrical its science does not have to be exact as long as it captures the eye of the observers than it has done its job correctly. Existentialismin art is for the artist to be completely free with every stroke of the hand. The art of the artist is dependent on the time and place in which the artist is born. Following the first and second World Wars, the decades of fighting and relentless political turmoil it comes as no surprise that a philosophy that invokes man, the individual s existence at its core had such an extensive following. This is why existentialist art flourishes after times of war because people want to express their feeling of freedom and the importance of the individual. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Chemistry Lab On And Electric Vehicle I ve learned so much from working and competing in Science Olympiad. There were four competitions that were scheduled for me to compete in: Forensics, Chemistry Lab, Game On and Electric Vehicle. There was a lot of preparation and commitment that had to be put in. A slight mishap happened in Forensics we found out that only two teams could compete, so my team had to drop out , ChemistryLab was mainly basic kinetics and gas laws during GameOn we had to learn Scratch and then use that knowledgeto create a game, The last event was Keltic Vehicle, in this event we had to pre design a vehicle. It would be scored by how accurate it was. I am glad I was able to pick the events to see if would really enjoy that class or occupation.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It helped working together because we could share ideas to each other. The Scratch program was simple and easy to master. We did really well at studying and mastering the program. There were some issues with designing the background and characters. The limited time made it hard to make a complicated and interesting game. The game wasn t as accurate as we had hoped but it was one of my favorites. We also actually knew what we were doing. With the knowledge in Scratch I know that I ll do better next year. Doing gome on made me realise how much I enjoyed programming, and I know that skill will come in handy later in life. For Electric Vehicle I learned that time is very important with designing and programming but working on the vehicle was different we remodeled it about three times to make it work correctly and stop swerving to the left. The rules were simple: make the vehicle come to a complete stop when it hits the set distance. Our way of building the vehicle was to base it on a click system; in the system we had buttons that had a certain amount of time it would make the motors go for. The rules stated that the vehicle had to be between nine to twelve meters , (in distance of which it could travel), but at the competition it was eleven meters. When preparing for the distance runs we had to figure out how many clicks it took to go one meter. Unfortunately, it was a little more complex; it accelerated so it didn t go at a linear rate, ... • 5. Barnett Shale Case Study The Barnett Shale in southeastern New Mexico and West Texas was deposited during the Mississippian period (Osagean to Chesterian) in a basinal setting (Hass, 1953; Lane, 1974; Hamilton and Asquith, 2001; Broadhead, 2006; Ruppel and Kane, 2006; Osterlund, 2012). Deposition was below storm wave base and also beneath the oxygen minimum zone (OMZ) (Gutschick and Sandberg, 1983; Ruppel and Kane, 2006; Miall, 2008). Yurewicz (1977) estimated water depths between 300 to 750 ft (90 and 230 m) for the age equivalent Rancheria Formation in New Mexico. A modified sea level curve (Figure 1) Ross and Ross 1987) suggests that Barnett deposition (Osagean to Chesterian) occurred during a second order sea level highstand with multitude of third order sea level ... • 6. Symptoms And Symptoms Of Antibiotics And Streptococcus... Some common pathogens that cause HEENT infections are H. influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Staphyloccoccus aureus. All three pathogens can cause conjunctivitis, H. influenza and Streptococcus pneumoniae are the main two pathogens that lead to acute otitis media (AOM), and H. influenzae and Staphylcoccus aureus are known to cause sinusitis (Cash Glass, 2014). I would recommend a limited use of antibiotics in treatment of these diseases and other unconfirmed bacterial illness, due the increase chance of antibiotic resistance. Symptom management may be all that is required, and most children will improve without being prescribed antibiotic therapy. Watchful waiting for 48 72 may be the best choice to allow the patient to improve without antibiotic treatment (Cash Glass, 2014). As providers, getting a whole history of the presenting symptoms and the duration of the symptoms will lead to better treatment outcomes for the patient. Antibiotics should only be used in the pediatric population when there is a known presence of a bacterial infection and the benefits will outweigh the harms of administering the antibiotic (Murray Amin, 2014). The practice of prescribing antibiotics when not necessary leads to drug resistance and adverse reactions, which is a major public health concern in the pediatric population. In the United States, it is estimated that well over 50 million ineffective and unnecessary antibiotic prescriptions are written for children each ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Status Of A Woman Essay I d like to start my Essay with famous quote of Virgina Woolf, which goes as, Women have served all these centuries as looking glasses possessing the magic and delicious power of reflecting the figure of man at twice it s natural Size The topic that I ve chosen for my essay is The Status of A Woman in South Indian or specifically Malayalam Cinema. The first question the arises in my mind while watching any Malayalam movie is why does the nationally and internationally acclaimed Malayalam or for that matter any South Indian Cinema fail to represent women s experiences, Why are The Female leads just subjected to basic chores, or as an object of desire? Me being a Woman find it very disturbing to see woman being labelled in the same umbrella. Indian cinema has always been under the line of fire for its potrayal of women as objects of desire. Be it in the case of Mandakini, Parveen Babi or the current crop of actresses. From Sheila Ki Jawaani to Munni ki Badnaami , its usually women who are utilized as objects of desire and sexual objects. The situation is no different in Indian culture where In reality the birth of a girl child is frowned and looked down upon with disrespect in some parts of India and shockingly even among elite and educated Indians, whereas the Birth of a boy is celebrated. Indian Cinema as a whole is the biggest culprit here as the reach and impact by Commercial films is the most and it is very disheartening that such an industry still uses or turns ... • 8. Tsar Nicholas Ii Nicholas II abdicated the throne in 1917 up until then, the Russian Royal family had ruled for over three hundred years. Throughout this period, they faced many problems and uneasy predicaments, a lot of these centering on Nicholas II as Tsar. A combination of long and short term problems led to the decline and eventual fall of the Romanov dynasty. Tsar Nicholas II ignored these issues, staying true to his coronation vow to uphold Autocracy, and therefore played a critical role in the plummet of the Empire. A flaw in Tsar Nicholas II Autocratic style of ruling was his conflicting personality. He was a family orientated man, and they often took priority over ruling and looking after his country especially his son, Alexei who suffered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Russian people also resented the influence Gregory Rasputin had over Alexandra, The people viewed him as immoral and he brought huge disrepute on the Romanov family. The impacts of The War placed an unbearable on Russia s weak government and economy, the improper handling of these affairs turned the people against the Tsar and the growth of political opposition to the Tsar a direct link in the downfall of the empire. The effects of World War One on Russia were profound. Russia s once remarkable financial stability was demolished by the War, the disruption of their transport system, the shortage in food supplies and the rapidly rising price in supplies created a foundation for a revolution, and also, a considerable loss in confidence of the Tsar. On the 23rd February, International Women s Day, the women of Petrograd led a riot through the workers districts. • 9. The Failure Of Power In Animal Farm, By George Orwell Imagine a world where the people holding power always did what was good for everyone. As history has taught us, this doesn t always happen. Animal Farm, by George Orwell, is a complex story about the dangers of too much government power, and the ones in power are definitely not doing things for the good of others. When the pigs take control of the farm, they become greedy, dishonest, and deceitful. Orwell lived in Europe during the time of the Russian Revolution, when there were countless dictatorships around the world. He wrote this story to symbolize (and mock) the Russian Revolution; which includes Karl Marx, Leon Trotsky, Joseph Stalin, and Vyacheslav Molotov. Orwell uses this story, where the oppressed become the oppressors, to warn the world about the power of the government. He also warns the reader not to let the corrupt control and not stand by and let it happen. He shows that the abuse of absolute power can lead to corruption, violence, and finally, chaos. The first warning Orwell introduces to the reader is that standing by passively while a would be tyrant rises to power will end up in a birth of a dictatorship and a loss of personal freedom. At the beginning, the animals attempt to establish a democracy where everyone can vote and have a say, but when the animals vote for Snowball as their leader, Napoleon becomes jealous and runs Snowball off the farm with his vicious dogs, which symbolizes the military that a dictator uses. All of this represents how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Theme Of Self Reliance In The Glass Castle To be self reliant means to rely on your own powers and resources rather than those of others. I find that Self reliance is a recurring theme in The Glass Castle. Jeanette Walls and her siblings had to be self reliant to make up for the lack of basic care they received from their parents. Walls was resilient, strong, and continued to grow despite the struggles she faced. While driving through the Californian desert the Walls family comes across a Joshua tree. The tree grew despite the whipping wind and scorching heat of the desert. Walls mother, Rose Mary thought the tree was beautiful because of the struggle to grow. It s the Joshua tree s struggle that gives it it s beauty (Walls 38). The Joshua tree symbolizes the struggle to grow in the midst of chaos. Walls struggles helped her to become self reliant, strong, resilient, and unique. Walls and the tree are great examples of the unique beauty that can come from dysfunction. Walls was left to her own devices for the majority of her childhood. Rex and Rosemary put their wants before their children. Rex was an alcoholic whose addiction became worse over time. Rosemary was an artist who seemed like she didn t even want to be a mother. Both parents were irresponsible and neglectful. Walls describes an event of when she was badly burned while trying to make herself something to eat. As walls counties to describe the event of being burned and staying in the hospital, the reader gets a glimpse of what the family is like. Wall s parents believed their kids should be self reliant so that the outcome of their persistence is worth the struggle they experienced. The Wall s wanted their children to fend for themselves and overcome all the difficulties they encountered. Many of the struggles that Walls encountered as a child was because of her parents negligence. Rex and Rose Mary created a life of imagination and fantasy to cover up how bad their life really was. Rex was to blame for majority of the fantasy. FBI agents, demon hunting and the glass castle, are all examples of the imagination and fantasy Rex created for his children. Rosemary embraced the wild life too, but even she saw through some of Rex s fantasies. The Walls children learned to fend for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The NFL today has tv ratings off the charts, breaking records every Super Bowl(Coming Soon.com). But what started out as an American staple, actually was a mix of different sports. The first football game was actually just an altered soccer game between Rutgers and Princeton, but no one would realize the revolution it would bring to America. It then evolved with the help of rugby. Twenty years later the NFL was born and football went from a simple college game to a professional sport. The NFL was growing to be something huge in America then, a new league came along. The American Football League began in 1959, looking to become a rival league to the NFL(Pro Football HOF). The American Football League or AFL, was founded in 1959 by Lamar Hunt, a sportsman(Pro Football HOF). Although, the AFL lived past the expectancy the NFL gave them and they had a bit of growth in their league with new teams and relocations. But, the NFL and AFL got into a big disagreement over college players entering the draft. The NFL thought they d haul them in like nothing until surprisingly the AFL Kansas City Chiefs signed Heisman Trophy winning running back, Mike Garrett. This turned out to be huge for the AFL because Garrett would end up helping the Chiefs reach the AFL championship, and a Super Bowl berth. • 12. Abiotic Factors Of Tropical Rainforest Mahayla Griggs Abiotic Factors Tropical Rainforest make up a total of 6% of all of earth s land surface. Not surprisingly though, it produces 40% of all of earth s oxygen. There are 4 levels to the tropical rainforest; emergent, upper canopy, understory, and forest floor. The rainforestreceived it s name because of it s self watering system. Plants release water into the atmosphere through transpiration. This moisture usually has no place to go which creates a thick cloud cover over the rainforest causing the humid, hot, atmosphere. In the the rainforests are large rivers that branch off into smaller rivers that help to provide water for the entire forest. Location/ Landscape Rainforest are located around the equator. Known for their hot humid climates rainforest easily thrive around the equator without issues. Ecosystem Services Tropical rainforest have many ecosystem services that they provide for the earth daily. Because of the large amounts of plants, tropical rainforest are capable of helping to clean the air of pollutants. Plants take in the bad air and produce air that is not filled with harmful pollutants. Tropical rainforests also increase rainfall. The H2O that is released into the air has to go somewhere eventually. It can not just stay in the cloud that surrounds the forest forever. So, it comes back down as precipitation. The tropical rainforest allows humans to benefit financially. Humans are constantly cutting down rainforest to use the lumber to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. How Does Theseus Value The Giver The Greeks valued Theseus nobility and bravery, and even today, his traits would be still be valued. We live in a world where so much time is spent on building a future for ourselves, that it doesn t give us much time to be adventurous. This is seen in a number books, including Divergent and The Giver. Divergent revolves about this character who looked down on for being different in a community where all is standardized. In The Giver, everything is regulated, but one character has a special gift which makes him stand out. These books are fairly modern, which makes me believe that Theseustraits would still be valued. This living laboratory (US Department of Agriculture, 2005) is located 96 miles south of Seattle in the Gifford Pinchot National forest. This ecosystem yields 140 inches of rain per year with temperatures ranging from28 degrees in Jan to 59 degrees in July. Soil is made up of weathered tephra deposits; consisting of fine ash and gravel sized rock debris. Erosion proved to be a positive process for plants, improving their habit. Vast trees that once covered the forest are gone, as new sunlight emerges it gave way for new species to exist. A new ecosystem had emerged since the devastation of the eruption. Moreover, scientists have learned that the timing and season of the eruption played an important role in the survival and re growth of the ecosystem. • 16. Peekay Character Analysis Peekay s Trait Formation Life does not always take the easy path for all of us. Bryce Courtey writes about Peekay, who is an English boy, that does not have the easiest life although it may seem like it. Peekay goes through a lot of heartbreaks, in the form of death, but ends up coming out on top. With Peekay traveling around and forming new relationships he grasps the traits everyone would love to have. Peekays independence could not have come from nowhere, with him being alone most of his life, or being with older people who already could take care of themselfs, he had to take care of himself. Most of the time when Peekay got picked on he had to stand up for himself because no one was there to help him out or no one care. Her parents held very traditional views, which was reflected in her upbringing. She was dedicated as a baby, she attended church every Sunday, was baptized at the early age of seven years old, and accepted Christ as the head of her life and the foundation of her existence. She was active in the church very early on, participating in Sunday school, the usher board, and singing in the youth choir. Even so, Nicole s spiritual journey has not been smooth sailing as she has encountered many detours along the way. Oftentimes turning to secular behaviors and activities, seeking self gratification, not attending church for years at a time, and ultimately becoming a single unwed mother. Through it all, the highs and the lows, Nicole is still a devout Christian; on a journey to rededicate her life to Christ, removing unhealthy people and situations from her life, focusing on God, and fully going after the life that God intended for her. Over the course of religious and faith development, there will be times that each individual steps outside of the will of God, as no one is perfect. In the beginning of the story Pip introduces himself, and introduces his dead parents. He is in the graveyard, and then a scary looking man comes up. The man threatens him. Personal Response So far I really enjoy the book. Charles Dickens really pulls me into the book. He uses great figurative language that makes you feel sorry for a character. The people in this book seem so innocent and harmless. Well, except the guy that threatened Pip. They all also seem to live hard lives. They don t have all the benefits that we have today. They have to scrounge around for stuff we never would have to scrounge around for. What is really neat about it, is that they get an enjoyment out of life. They are not well off either. I can t wait to read on further into Charles Dickens novel. Vocabulary So far in this novel there is no vocabulary that really comes to mind. I though I would use this section to talk about figurative language. Charles Dickens uses a lot of figurative language. He says that when Pip goes up into his room, he is in the dark. Literally that means he does not have a candle, so therefore he is in the dark. Figuratively we can interpret it in many ways. One way is to say that Pip isn t a very smart kid. With the girl with the raven hair, his days would never be the same again. (Coelho 8) Personality: This quote shows Santiago s determination to marry the merchant s daughter since he knows that the father probably would not let her marry someone like him, a shepherd who s always away selling his wool. Conflict/s: I think that this contributes to his conflicts because his love for her will make him reluctant to seek his personal legend. Foreshadowing/Guess/Question: I am guessing that the merchant girl might hold him back from leaving Andalusia. One afternoon, on a visit to his family, he had summoned up the courage to tell his father that he didn t want to become a priest. That he wanted to travel. (Coelho 11) Personality: This quote tells me Santiago is stubborn. Stubborn because he refuses to follow his father s higher judgement to become a priest as well as going to the heights of becoming a shepherd which is looked down upon. Conflict/s: Because of his nature, he went against his dad s wishes. Foreshadowing/Guess/Question: I think that he will value his dreams to travel more than the love he has for the merchant girl. The people who come here have a lot of money to spend, so they can afford to travel, his father said. Amongst us, the only ones who travel are the shepherds. Well, then I ll be a shepherd! (Coelho 11) Personality: Santiago is very inquisitive because he wants to know more about the world he lives in through traveling. Conflict/s: In disobeying his father, he lost the girl he liked and had to sell his herd of sheep. He had to sacrifice a lot being a shepherd. Foreshadowing/Guess/Question: I am guessing he won t stop at nothing to achieve his personal legend. Before the boy could reply, a butterfly appeared and fluttered between him and the old man. This is the verse Christians use when referring to dark times or when their faith as Christians is being challenged by non believers and the forces of Satan himself. This is the mentality seen in Nathaniel Hawthornes Young Goodman Brown. Young Goodman Brown is an allegory about the Christian walking through the wilderness and facing temptation from the Devil, along with many other symbolic images that go along with the allegory. The woods represent the devil s playground, a journey into sin and darkness; a path Brown takes on his journey. He had taken a dreary road, darkened by all the gloomiest trees of the forest, which barely stood aside to let the narrow path creep through, and closed immediately behind (Hawthorne p.387). As mentioned earlier, Brown wants to strengthen his faith with Christ and Believes a journey into the forest is the best way to do it. However, he does not anticipate members of his own community participating in black masses and other sinful acts in the forest. Kim Becnel delves deep into the historical context of Young Goodman Brown and discusses how trying to look for the evil in others can lead to destruction, as he explains in the following quote Young Goodman Brown is set in this dark period of Puritan history. The story makes reference to two historical figures from the witch trials, Goody Cloyse and Goody Cory, as well as to another historical incident, the lashing of a Quaker woman which occurred in Salem in 1693. Reading Goodman Brown s dissent into darkness and distrust with these references in mind, we are reminded of the sad reality that an overzealous desire for goodness and purity can be so perverted as to ultimately result in violence and death (Becnel). Because of this mentality that Brown has, as Becnel believes, he has been persuaded to believe that the holiest and righteous members of his municipal have been dancing with the devil himself. Those that saw him fight, friend or foe, called him a monster on the battlefield, because of his horrifying demeanor and impeccable fighting ability. He continued to carve a path directly through the enemy forces, the horse he was riding upon had taken an arrow to its side so he had dismounted and left it behind. He drew his short sword and began to take the enemy out one by one, once his short sword had broken, he used his knives and once those to had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Your voice is too high for a man, but too different to that of a young boy, you must be a woman he paused for a moment, strange to see one like yourself on the battlefield. Well, it s also quite strange to see a man walking the battlefield with a blade as long as he is tall isn t it? she said with a chuckle, then her face seemed to lose all emotion, I saw what you did, to these helpless people, you slaughtered them you goddamn monster; and because of that, I cannot let you leave here alive! If that s how you wish to die, then so be it he echoed throughout the courtyard without a second s thought. He swung first, his giant sword quickly dodged by the cloaked woman, she retaliated by throwing knives towards him, he quickly moved his sword in the path of the blades, blocking two of them but a third hit him directly on the side. Support your points by reference to or quotation from, the poems that are on your course. In my opinion and from the sample of his poetry which I have studied, I would say that the poetry of W.B Yeats is very enjoyable to read. The themes of his poems are often easily identified with and his simple style of writing makes his poetry easy to interpret and understand. Although easily engaging with the themes of his poetry contributes to my liking of Yeats poetry, it is his gift of writing that has an impact on me. His use of powerful contrasts and breath taking imagery easily make Yeats one of the greatest poets of the twentieth... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is a strong contrast in this poem between the old, weary, lonely poet and the apparently ever youthful, energetic and powerful swans. Yeats journey to Byzantium in Sailing to Byzantium is due to the fact that he wishes to become immortal, to flee the dreaded progression of ageing. He rejects Ireland as it is no country for old men and criticizes those who get too caught up in the wonders of life and who have no concerns about growing old Caught in that sensual music all neglect, Monuments of unageing intellect . The poet claims that one, namely, an aged man , can only break free from the spell of ageing if he is allow his spirit to break free A tattered coat upon a stick, unless soul clap its hands and sing and louder sing . Yeats obviously wants to bypass old age and become immortal in this poem and begs the sages to allow him to break away from his body, a dying animal , and to gather him into the artifice of eternity . In both The Wild Swans at Coole and Sailing to Byzantium, a strong contrast is made. However, in The Wild Swans at Coole , Yeats merely seems envious of the youthful swans, in contrast to Sailing to Byzantium where he seems angry with the young who appear to waste their youthfulness. I found this theme very thought provoking and therefore an entertaining theme to read about. A final theme which appeared in the poetry of Yeats which I studied was that of historical events. This theme appears in September 1913 and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Analysis Of A Lesson Before Dying I agree with the statement, At the end of A Lesson Before Dying, desolation prevails over consolation, because the last chapters of A Lesson Before Dying had a negative and depressing tone. According to Sidney deRogers, He didn t pay any close attention to the black truck with the gray tarpaulin cover, but he would tell the people at the Rainbow Club that he did feel a cold chill when the truck went by. Basically, Sidney is saying that he felt that something was awry, or that something wrong or evil was in that truck. The whole town knew what was happening that day and everyone had an opinion, whether that opinion was indifferent, uneasy, or disgusted /sickened by what was going to happen on that day. Grant says that It was a nice day. Blue sky. Not a cloud, but there was an overlying notion of sorrow and fear that laid over everyone in the quarter. One could argue that the end of A Lesson Before Dying prevailed with consolation rather than desolation since according to Paul, He was the strongestman in that crowded room, Grant Wiggins. Paul s point is that Jefferson died a man as a result of Grant. Despite what someone might say, I still consider this argument to be wrong considering that Grant is still upset because Jefferson did not have a Jury of his peers; everyone on that jury was white and had no concern for Jefferson s life. At the end, it seems to me that Grant feels alone since he has spent much of the past six months with Jefferson. He developed a strong ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Social Cognitive Theory, And Social Cognitive Theory Social cognitive theory, also known as social learning theory, a theory of learning that focuses on changes in behaviour that result from observing others (Bandura 2001 as cited in Eggen,Kauchak, 2013). According to Simons(1994, p.43) Social learning Theory is the view of psychologists who emphasize that behaviour is learned through experiences with the environment and that cognitive factors influence learning. Albert Bandurais the theorist behind this psychological theory. According to a survey conducted in 2002, Bandura was ranked as the third most frequently cited psychologist of all time (Eggen,Kauchak, 2010). Social Cognitive Theory emphasizes the roles of beliefs, self perceptions, and learner expectations (Eggen,Kauchak.2010). According to social cognitive theorists learning is viewed as a change in a person s mental processes that stimulates the capacity to demonstrate different behaviours (Hill, 2002 as cited in Eggen,Kauchak, 2010). Also, it saves 300% 600% fuel costs, fertilizers, and herbicides and help grows young trees faster. The secret of this containment system is forcing the water to focus around a 24 inch diameter and keep the soil moist rather than sprinkling water in a 10 foot diameter, wasting most of the water (Tandrea, December 2014). Hence, from my calculation, instead of consuming 1.07 trillion gallons of water annually in California for almond, farmers could only use 85.6 billion gallons of water annually in California and also have the benefit of saving fuel costs, fertilizers, and herbicides. Moreover, engagement of stakeholders is needed to make this solution go smoothly and achieve success of preventing the drought issue in California to continue. The master plan is to have all farmers in California to use Tree T Pee to all of their plantations to reduce water usage and alleviate the issue of drought. In order for this plan to be a reality, several stakeholders need to work together and engage with each other, which include the government, the farmers, and the environmentalist.
