Social, Justice, Equality, And Social Justice
Social justice is mutually a practice and a goal. The goal of social justice is complete and equal
contribution by all people in a society that is equally designed to meet their needs. Social justice
allows for all members of society to be physically and psychologically safe and secure. It is a set of
values that allow us to understand what is right and wrong in our world regardless of race, culture and
economic status. That we take care of those in need of help, so that they can take care of themselves.
Social justice allows equal rights and opportunities to everyone in society. Economic justice is the
belief that we are all entitled to equal opportunities to work. That you receive equal pay for equal
work. That we have a fair and open job market. That even if you are an unskilled worker you can still
make a living wage. Economic justice is good for everyone because it allows for us to be able to buy
the goods made and keeps the economy steady. Social work supports the use an ecological and
systems approach to help people with their problems, however for a long time no one paid much
attention to the earth. Environmental justice also shines a light on racism and economic injustice.

The Fortune at the Bottom of Pyramid
Lessons from the Field:
Sales at the Bottom of the Pyramid
By Heidi Krauel and Joel Montgomery, 2009 Acumen Fund Fellows April 2010
Summary
Enterprises serving bottom of the pyramid (BoP) markets have tremendous opportunity to create
commercial and social impact, but are often illequipped to do so. A particular question that needs to be
studied is: how can we sell more effectively to BoP consumers? In this piece, Acumen Fund Fellows
Heidi Krauel and Joel Montgomery draw on their field experiences and research to explain how we
can build more effective sales organizations to serve the BoP.

Dark Matter and Dark Energy Essay
Dark Matter and Dark Energy
Dark Matter and Dark Energy are important. They can help us know how the universe began. These
two are the mysteries of the universe; they compose about 90% of the universe. They are mysteries
because we believe that they exist but we can t see them or detect them. People question whether they
manifest to be the same thing. Astronomers know very little about their constitution so they cannot
assume they are related. Dark Energy is a mysterious force that drives the expansion of the universe.
Astronomers states that the universe is expanding and the expansion is accelerating, so the unknown
anti gravity force at work is termed dark energy. Dark energy has important consequences for ... Show

Once the temperature of the Universe dropped below the neutron proton mass difference, neutrons
began decaying into protons. If the early baryon density was low, then it was difficult for a proton to
find a neutron with which to make helium before too many of the neutrons decayed away to account
for the amount of helium we see today. So by measuring the He/H ratio today, they can calculate the
necessary baryon density shortly after the Big Bang, and, consequently, the total number of baryons
today. It turns out that you need about 0.05 M total baryonic matter to account for the known
proportion of light isotopes. So only 1/20 of the total mass of the Universe is baryonic matter. This is
probably the reason why Astronomers claim that Dark matter must exist to account for the gravity that
holds galaxies together. If the only matter in the universe was matter we could directly detect, galaxies
would not have had enough matter to have ever formed. The galaxies we observe today would fly
apart because they wouldn t have enough matter to create a strong enough gravity to hold themselves
together. Dark matter is also responsible for amplifying small fluctuations in the Cosmic Microwave
Background back in the early universe to create the large scale structure we observe in the universe
today. Astronomers are still in the hunt of the Dark energy and dark matter but they haven t found
none. They are undetectable which makes it

My Dad
When I woke up the morning of June 11th, 2008, I thought it was going to be a normal day, but, I was
wrong. Growing up, my mom told my sisters and I about my Uncle. How he was hot tempered and did
things that were crazy when he didn t get his way. My mom and his relationship has always been
tense. From what I ve seen, and from what she has told me. When she got shot by him that day, it
proved to me that she was right. It was just a normal day. My mother sister, and I, driving around. My
uncle had called and told us how he had gotten a new pit bull puppy, and he invited us over to come
see it. We arrive, and this puppy is the cutest pup I ve ever seen. She was brindle with blue eyes. My
mom wanted to talk to my uncle about us keeping her. While lying on the couch playing with the
puppy, I look over and see my mom, sister, aunt and uncle sitting on the other couch. We were
laughing, smiling, telling jokes. You wouldn t think a bad thing would ever happen in the room. I
know my mother and uncles relationship, an argument was bound to spark over something simple.
They began their routine of arguing back and forth. Meanwhile, from what I could understand, they
were fighting about the pup. Now, I know that might sound outrageous but, the arguing continues. The
argument ended and my uncle walks off to the back room with a creepy smile on his face. In my mind
I m thinking, Ok everything is fine, they just had a moment. Just like that, I see my uncle come from

Pneumonia: A Multicenter, Cross Sectional Survey Study
Title of Article:
The title of the article Attitudes of Respiratory Therapists and Nurses About Measures to Prevent
Ventilator Associated Pneumonia: A Multicenter, Cross Sectional Survey Study clearly identifies the
purpose of the study. It clearly identifies the dependent variable as Ventilator Associated Pneumonia
(VAP) rate, the independent variable of staff compliance to prevention measures, and the population of
Respiratory Therapists (RTs) and Registered Nurses (RNs).
Objective:
The authors clearly state the objective is to understand reported practices and adherences to evidenced
based guidelines by RTs and RNs. The methods mentioned are; multicenter, cross sectioned survey,
non identifiable geographic information, and questions concerning practices to prevent VAP based on
evidence supported guidelines. The authors report three major findings; participants frequently
practiced VAP prevention measures, the rate of adherence to ineffective measures is relatively high,
and a substantial portion did not know the VAP rate for their institutions. The authors concluded
consumers, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other organization s efforts to implement
mandatory reporting of hospital infections, including VAP, the need for a VAP definition suitable for
individual organizations, a need for a

The Emotional Brain Overpowering The Thinking Brain
In the psychopathologies mentioned above, one thing is common the emotional brain overpowering
the thinking brain. Therefore, in dealing with these psychopathologies, the main goal is to somehow
wake the thinking brain up so that it could fire the needed neurons to finally control the emotional
brain. It can be as simple as trying to talk some sense into the person. This is because when a person is
listening, it is the neocortex that is being used and will therefore fire up more neurons. Just like the
child who is throwing a random tantrum, instead of giving him or her at once the thing that he or she
wants, tell the child to calm down, tell him or her that he or she does not need to cry or shout or to

Historical and Ongoing Construction of Aboriginal Women in Canada as a Problem Population
In August of 2014, Tina Fontaine, a 15 year old from the Sagkeeng First Nation in Winnipeg, was
murdered. Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper s response was not to regard it as a sociological
phenomenon but as a crime against an individual that should be investigated (Canadian Press, 2014).
Harper is virtually alone in this. Those demanding an inquiry and the treatment of this singular murder
as part of the larger concern of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are a variety of theories that are useful in understanding this issue. The theories that will be used
here to explain the state of murdered and missing women in Canada and Harper s response to it are
societal reaction perspective and Spitzer s Marxian theory of deviance.
In order to understand the constructed identity of Aboriginal women in Canada today and in the past,
it is necessary to discuss ideas of empire, including Manifest Destiny and Terra Nullius. These
European concepts were and generally still form the ideology operating in Canada. Expansion of the
ruling class empire is taken for granted and divinely supported. This is the basis for European
exploration of the globe, claiming of already occupied lands and colonization of existing peoples.
Manifest Destiny was the 19th Century settler belief that it was their destiny to expand throughout
North America. Terra Nullius is the concept that land determined to be empty, in other words not
being used productively by a civilized people, could be occupied by those Europeans who found it. Of
course, both of these concepts belong to the ideology of European empire expansion which
indisputably devalued the existing Aboriginal communities. The French and English settlers pushed
their Christian beliefs onto Aboriginal peoples and succeeded in altering Aboriginal communities from
their matrilineal nature into

Comparison Of The Italian Opera, Oratorio, And Cantata
Comparison of the Italian Opera, Oratorio, and Cantata Music during the Baroque period was diverse
and composers began to rebel against the styles that were popular during the Renaissance. In the
Baroque era music was driven by the text and the emotions behind it. Vocal and sacred music
developed greatly during the Baroque period. During the mid 17th century the Italian phenomenon
opera dominated most of the theatres in Europe. Sacred music was deeply influenced by the opera,
contributing to the development of the oratorio and cantata genre. The opera, oratorio, and cantata
contain musical similarities; among all three genres they feature recitative, soloist orchestras, and duet
arias. The Italian opera was a form of dramatic entertainment, ... Show more content on

Persuasive Essay About Makeup
Holidays such as Halloween seem to allow deviant acts to be committed with no consequences.
However, I committed a deviant act that would have been okay for Halloween but not two weeks
before Halloween. I did my makeup like a deer. Nothing extreme, yet bold enough to get a few stares
and people to notice. This change in makeup although subtle seemed to make a great change in how
people looked at me and treated me. Makeup seems normal and like it s overall been accepted as a
society, however, the current makeup trends call for on fleek or no makeup looks, not quite for random
animals. Within the United States, beauty is a high standard. That is why many choose to wear
makeup to enhance their beauty not makeup to make themselves appear ... Show more content on

The perception people have of OfficeMax as an expensive school supply store is inaccurate. If prices
were actually compared to other stores they would be much lower and if they weren t the store would
price match them. This perception might more have to do with how the majority of clients that are
within the facility work in office jobs. This is a logical explanation since most come to buy large
quantities of office supplies or get 100 s of copies done. This perception of the store being a high
maintenance store with nice clientele is why it was a great choice to break some norms. I began by
working the floor. I would greet customers and ask if they needed any help finding anything. I mostly
got stares back and a simple no. Most people did not want my help, which is quite odd since on a
Friday night we are usually pretty packed and I m flooded with questions. After a while of waiting for
a lady finally taps my shoulder in need of assistance. I turn to her and ask what she needs help with. I
turn to see a startled face that wasn t expecting a girl pretending to be a deer. She suddenly becomes
uncomfortable and comments on how she wasn t expecting that. She then asks me if it s something all
the employees are doing. I explain that it s not and that I chose to do this. Which leaves her confused.
She then says that she has forgotten what she needed and leaves the store. This shows how once
conformity is lost people seek another form of dealing with this

New Orleans Police Department – Recent Challenges. Problem
New Orleans Police Department Recent Challenges
Problem Statement Even before the disaster brought on by Hurricane Katrina, the New Orleans Police
Department had serious organizational and reporting issues. According to the United States
Department of Justice Civil Rights Division (2011), several patterns were clearly discoverable in the
organization, including the excessive use of force, under reporting of internal issues, discriminatory
policing, and the number of misconduct complaints were high. The issues that the Police Force faced
for long years before 2005 were, however, only revealed after the flood receded, and an investigation

Government intervention was needed, and an investigation had to be started. Thomas E. Perez,
Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division, in a press release, focusing on the findings of
the investigation, stated: Our findings show that the problems facing the NOPD are wide ranging,
systemic, and deeply rooted in the culture of the Department (The United States Department of
Justice, 2011). A sustainable reform was needed. The investigation report (United States Department
of Justice Civil Rights Division, 2011) identified the main organizational deficiencies as the lack of
clear policies, recruitment practices that failed to prioritize high quality candidates, the lack of training
and support provided for the members of the Force, the lack of supervision, and the Paid Details
system. Further, there were several failings in the organization related to performance evaluation and
promotions, complaint handling and investigation, adjudication, and NOPD lacked a vision of
community oriented policing. The cross examination practices of the Police Force were likewise seen
to be insufficient. Victim sensitivity was another issue that weighed on the New Orleans Police
Department: people group were not included in policy making needs, and there was no connection
with its occupants. As a result, people stopped trusting NOPD. Some of the complaints brought

Building Clock Speed Vs. Processor s Errand
(CPU) or processor s errand is to Fetch guidelines, and to decode what to do, execute the appeal, and
Store the results. To build clock speed, these three stages must be separated. This is with the goal that
you don t need to hold up for each line in the processor to settle for the aftereffect of each direction.
Much like a sequential construction system, each one piece of the guideline is decoded and sent
through the processor in stages along the pipeline. More stages means speedier clock speed, yet then
that likewise implies more issues when the code obliges a hop (if, else, switch, case), if the execution
would be quicker in an alternate request, or data required for another guideline is still in the pipeline.
It s a fragile parity where there is no immaculate arrangement. Designers are compelled to attempt
outlines and mimic which one will finish the shopper s requests the speediest. It s generally won t a
straightforward race of recurrence. Memory construction modeling depicts the techniques used to
actualize electronic machine information stockpiling in a way that is a blend of the speediest, most
dependable, most solid, and slightest costly approach to store and recover data. Contingent upon the
particular application, a bargain of one of these necessities may be fundamental so as to enhance an
alternate necessity. Case in point, dynamic memory is ordinarily utilized for essential information
stockpiling because of its quick get to speed. However alert

The Influence Of The Nose Hill
As I prayed and made an offering at the Nose Hill location, again I saw the land as I often do, as it was
before recent human influence. As I sat before the rock the fences and the sounds of the car in the
distance gave way to the wind. And as the wind came I could smell a camp fire and see the teepee atop
the east facing ledge about one kilometre south of the rock. And also with the wind came the bison,
stampeding over the hill coming for the rock with great anticipation to shed their winter coats and
graze along the hill. As they came they stormed around the rock with glee, hopping, kicking, shoving
for room against the large rocks in the heat of the day after their never ending wander across the
prairies. As a dog walker walked by with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

and tip toe past the buffalo and off into the night. After watching the stealth of the fox, he prayed to
the creator for a moment of being as stealthy as the fox. The little boy slid silently down from the
rock, and silently into the buffalo herd. His footsteps were so soft and subtle, that as he held is breath
he knelt down to pet a baby buffalo that continued sleeping peacefully. The little boy continued on and
returned to his people, including his very worried mother. He told them of the rock and the buffalo and
the fox, and as the early spring sun began to light the sky and some of the stars began to fade, they
gathered their weapons and approached the rock. The hunters spotted their prime targets, the bulls,
laying closest to the rock. Like the fox and the boy the hunters snuck past the bison and atop the rock.
As the sun broke the horizon one hunter atop the rock used an old bulls horn to sound off in
preparation for the hunt. As the buffalo began to stir the hunters shot the four big bulls laying on either
side the rock and the other hunters came out of the bush and shot 5 more big bison bulls. The tribe, as
they had all been hungry quickly dressed and moved the meat back to their camp, where it was

Cool Hand Luke By Stuart Rosenberg
Those inclined to think about religious matters embrace distinctly different images of God such as in
the film Cool Hand Luke Directed by: Stuart Rosenberg, a central component to making the film what
it is, is the subtle use of religious imagery. The way Luke Jackson is presented as a character,
embodies this very likeness to Jesus through his actions, speech and posture. The way Luke starts a
bond with the other prisoners is through a boxing match and a poker game. During the boxing match,
Luke gets beaten up by his soon to be right hand Dragline. While playing poker, he wins the game by
bluffing a hand worth nothing and comments that sometimes nothing can be a real cool hand and also
during the poker game is when he attained his nick name Cool Hand Luke . During his sentence in
jail, Luke s family came to visit him so that he could say good bye to his mother because she was not
breathing to well on the account that she smoked a lot and developed this horrible cough in which she
and her family realized that she might not last until Luke got out of jail. After his mother visits, Luke
becomes more optimistic about his situation and because of this, the other prisoners begin to idolize
him. This is where we start receiving subtle images of Jesus and the 12 disciples because of the way
that they all began to follow him and be his support group. Such as the disciples were to Jesus. One
day while working on the road to Luke s leadership is truly shown, he leads the group

Addicted To Love Essay
Addicted to Love
In Gottfried Von Strassburg s retelling of the ancient romance, Tristan, love s portrayal as a
psychological disease is considerable. For Rivalin and Blancheflor, Tristan and Isolde, and also King
Mark, the affliction causes them to act in a way that they would normally shun. Love changes the
perspective on life of those who become intoxicated by its power; whether it s shared as a couple or
entirely unreciprocated, the lust to attain and secure its presence is consuming.
Love s torment of Tristan and Isolde is a sweet torment that noble lovers endure. Grieves are shared,
blessings are doubled, and embraces are electrifying on both the physical and emotional levels. One
sided love is a hell like no other. Here, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For both Rivalin and Blancheflor the danger involved in consummating their love is twofold. Bearing
a bastard child would result not only in the cataclysmic loss of societal position, but quite possibly her
death. Rivalin, less prudent then his future son, risks the wrath of an angry Mark by out right eloping
with his true love. Under the influence of love s tyrannical reign, both disregard their reservations and
good sense; blinded by passion they escape to Parmenie to be legally wed. Like a wounded cowboy in
a classic western film who downs whiskey to avoid the pain of a gunshot wound or snake bite, love
appears to ease the pain of Rivalin s wounds after a battle. Although on what is almost his death, the
passion for Blancheflor numbs his hurt and allows Tristan to be conceived.
As perfect lovers, Tristan and Isolde s addiction to Cupid s opiate is surpassed by none. This is proven
by the trials Brangane endures, the disregard for Isolde s personal acts of treason, and also the blows
to Tristan s honor and loyalty to his uncle. Once Isolde has the epiphany that the killer of her Uncle
Morold is bathing in the next room, she is enraged. However, she is unable to extract revenge on
Tristan. Gottfried suggests this is due to a feminine instinct; simply, that Isolde was too refined to
commit such an uncouth act. This delicate characterization of Isolde would not last long. Upon the
accidental ingestion of the love potion,

Society As An Outsiders
In William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily and Sherwood Anderson s Hands, both authors present main
characters who is isolated in their respective societies. In Faulkner s work, Emily is an outsider
because she chooses to remove herself from mainstream society by not interacting with other people.
Similarly, in Anderson s work, Wing Biddlebaum chooses to remove himself from society since he has
been falsely accused of being a child molester. In this way, both characters are outsiders in their
communities by choosing to remove themselves of their own free will. First, there are several types of
outsider based on different reasons. A person who decides to take himself away from the society, or
one who different from most people can be said to be an outsider. a person not belonging to a
particular group, set, party, etc. An outsider can also mean someone who is not within boundary or
enclosure. a person not belonging to a particular group, set, party, etc. (OutsiderDictionary.com. Web.
Pg.1). Though the dictionary has already described what an outsider meant, an outsider can also be
when one is trying really hard to succeed at a particular thing but is having difficulty doing that; like
in the case of a student who is having difficulty in passing a course while most of the students seem to
be having no problem with the class. Such student can be said to be an outsider. While this is the case
for students, a homeless is said to be an outsider too. There are various kinds of

The Errors And Its Effects On The New Way Of View Life
The errors I am most guilty of committing frequently would be, filtering out the positive, unreal ideal,
and labeling. I never know the terminology for these habits until now. When reading the article, I
could picture scenarios when I committed these errors.
I have tendency of labeling everything! When I first moved to America, labeling/grouping items,
people and so on really helped to simplify this new journey. Over the years I am realizing that that s a
poor way of view life. I tend to label people, places, and etc. with little or no interacting. The last year
there has been a lot in the media about police brutality and unfair treated for African American and
minorities in general. When watching the news, I would make a state like these police officers are evil
and out of control. , these officers are all racist and so on. Stating comments like these are completely
unfair. Putting all officers in the same category is small minded and doesn t solve the problem facing
us today. On top of that am implanting those false beliefs onto my little brother.
Filtering out the positive was my second one. It doesn t matter how much I accomplish or do, all I
focus on is what I could of them better. The first week of the semester I had to give a speech in a
communication class. I was really nervous and shy, but the speech went really well until the end. For
some reason I looked and froze, I then started to stutter on some of the words. Although the overall of
the speech went well

3.1.1 German Credit Datasets This is a nancial dataset which is made up of 1,000 instances. This

categorical). The german.data numeric an edited copy of the original dataset which consist of 24
numeric attributes. The german.data numeric which has 24 input variable basically represents 19
attributes with 4 of these attributes changed to dummy variables. The 20 attributes in the German.data

How Does Dickens Use Settings In His Novel Great Expectations To Revel Character And Status?
The novel Great Expectations is opened straightaway with one of its main characters Pip. His abusive
sister and her husband, Joe Gargery, the kindly village blacksmith brings up Pip. Magwitch, an
escaped convict confronts Pip in the churchyard on the Kent marshes and demands food and a file to
break his chains. Out of fear Pip complies and Magwitch escapes. He is later recaptured and

Pip sister, Mrs Joe Gargery has been attacked by Rollick, a journeyman blacksmith in Joes shop. She
lingers in a state of sensibility and later dies. He later sees Estella s who he still adores at Miss
Havisham houses. One stormy night, Pip is home alone and is visited by a man who seems to know
him, but whom Pip does not recognize. Finally, to his horror, Pip recognizes the convict Magwitch and
to his further horror, Magwitch relates that it was he who has provided Pip great expectation. Estella
will marry the heated Beatley Drummel who later dies by the mistreatment of a horse. Miss Havisham
s clothes get on fire and Pip helps but she dies. The convict is caught and injured and is tried and
sentenced to death but dies of his wounds before the execution can be carried out. Pip has learned that
Magwitch is Estella s father and, now softened towards the convict, tells him of his daughter just
before Magwitch dies. Pip s dilemma was so for the majority of young people in the 19th century,
there was a distinctive contrast between the upper and lower classes. The community was faced with
many issues including over crowdedness, diseases, poverty and status, because of this, boys like Pip
and girls like Estella had a great urgency to become a gentleman or urbanize young ladies. There were
many other major problems like wealth. This obvious divide between poor was visible through
property, belongings, and clothes between the two classes

How Did Hagia Sophia Change Over Time
* to add foot notes
Constantinople, a great city founded by Constantine the Great, was an advantageous site which lied
between Europe and Asia with strategic importance. Acropolis or the City of Byzantion, a Greek city,
had already been established in 7th century B.C. long before Constantinople was founded.
Around 2nd century AD the city fell into the Romans and became the Roman city of Byzantium.
Constantine became the sole emperor(* time period) of the Roman Empire and this city was chosen as
his new capital and became known as New Rome or Constantinople.
It was during his reign that Hagia Sophia, the Church of the Holy Wisdom of God, became the grand

Time as a mosque
In 1453 AD, the Ottoman troops led by Sultan Mehmet II after more than a month in siege. When the

sultan made was to convert Hagia Sophia church into a mosque. It was named Aya Sofya and the
change became the first step to convert Christianized Constantinople to an Islamic city.
Numerous changes befitting a mosque were made to the building.
Islam forbids images and virtual representation of figures. So of course when Hagia Sophia was
changed into a mosque, all the mosaics and figures were covered with plaster. They were still kept
intact however. The sultan apparently loved and valued the art and ordered that the mosaics and the
visual depictions relating to Christianity were to be kept instead of being taken down.
Minarets, another necessity in a mosque, were added in separate times. The first sultan to rule
Constantinople, Sultan Mehmet II(*) added in the first minaret. Sultan Bayezid added another in and
Sinan, a famous architect, under the reign of Sultan Murad III added in the last 2 minarets. Mihrab

The Islamic Religious Laws Practiced By Muslim
The Islamic religious laws practiced by Muslim s around the world that belong to the traditional legal
system known as Sharia has made headlines around the world for its barbaric, harsh and inhumane
punishments and reasoning. The terms Quran, Zina , Sharia, Fiqh, Kanunname, Qadi and Ijtihad are
all terms that represent some sort of aspect of traditional Islamic components, laws and or ways of life.
I argue that over time, some of the terms stated above have changed and others not so much depending
on the way they are applied and practiced. The comparisons of punishments and fines within different
social classes and genders in the different era s significantly addresses proof of evolution of the terms
previously stated is true but only according to the circumstances attributed to the term in question and
how it is practiced.
Over time, in most cases, things change for the better. A combination between ethical societies,
modernized non violent punishment tactics and human rights obligations are the fundamentals of
freedom a functional society. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same for the traditional Islamic legal
system, which is known as Sharia. Sharia is seen by most non Muslim s to be intolerable and
inhumane because the codes and punishments are often too severe for the average non Muslims to
comprehend without knowing the historical understanding of the laws that where implemented way
back when but that are still practiced and followed by Muslims. Sharia is seen as

Disadvantages Of Occupational Information
An occupational information data base of occupational information help individuals identifies with
specific skills, tasks, and occupations that are available. Individuals have the opportunity to explore
employment opportunities that are suitable to the skills they possess. In addition, it inform individuals
of the necessary skills they may need to attain, improve for a specific job and notify the level of
education needed to seek employment. Advantages of the data base allows the individual to become
more actively involved in the career guidance process (Zunker, 2012, p.180). Individuals will have the
opportunity to seek more information, receive adequate feedback immediately, and can access the data
base anywhere at any given time. Also, it offer support to individuals when trying to decide on a

develop skills and increase and broaden general and industry specific knowledge (Zunker, 2012, p.

As with all things, it takes some hard work and effort to keep your garden looking good. However,
there are a few ways to make your maintenance work in the garden quick and easy. 1. Get the pH of
your soil by taking it to your local garden center or even your agriculture department of the local
college or county co op. By formulating your soil to fit your needs, you will have the best looking
garden around. Adding compost and even organic fertilizers are a great choice for maintaining your
garden soil. If you can get the pH right, your plants should last for ages. 2. Keep like minded plants
together based on needs. You should try to keep plants that need water in one particular area while
plants with fewer water needs should be planted in another place. The same principle goes for
sunshine as well. Some plants just need a little bit of sun while others need the shade. Keeping like
minded plants together takes the guessing out of maintenance. 3. Choose raised bed containers for a
controllable approach to gardening. The raised beds allow for easier weed control as well as the proper
drainage, fertilizer, watering and more. Plus, you don t have to get on your hands and knees to care for
your plants. 4. Mulching is important to plants. Not only is it a material that looks good but also does

In Sun, Jake Barnes would like to assert himself by having sex with Brett. Half of the procreation

The poet, David Meltzer once said: Superman came not out of our strength but out of our
vulnerability. Superman became a symbol of hope and a reassurance of safety. Superman represents

Restorative Justice And The Justice Centres
Restorative Justice(RJ) is a process in by which it takes an alternative form from the traditional CJS
and aims to prompt resolution with offender, victims and the wider community in a safe setting. RJ
looks at crime in terms of violation against the community and individual rather than a violation
against the law (Gabbay, 2005). As with the traditional CJS, the voices of the victims and offenders
are very minimal and not adequately addressed to a large extent; restorative justice centres its main
attention on these parties. Since the adoption of RJ practices, there have been different types of RJ
created by various different countries that have also resorted to this practice, such as Family Group
Conferencing (NZ and Australia) and Sentencing Circles (Canada) and victim offender mediation.
Since, one of the main stakeholders of these conferences are victims, it is vital that their needs and
wants are being heard and met and victim satisfaction is also one of the key restorative values in these
conferences, thus it is important know whether their needs are being adequately met. This essay will
critically discuss the principle of restorative justice, how restorative justice effectively addresses the
concerns of victims using examples illustrated from Canada and New Zealand and the limitations of
RJ in certain crime cases in addressing victim concerns. . The concerns will be based on the different
proponents of RJ and the overall satisfaction that arises for victims out

Breastfeeding Duration Paper
Breastfeeding Duration Related to Education and Support from the Maternity Nurse The standard for
exclusive breastfeeding after birth is six months to one year (Briere, Cong, Cusson, McGrath, 2014),
but the percentage of mothers breastfeeding for the full duration is low. Specifically, the percent of
newborns receiving any breast milk for six months is 43% and only 23% receive it for the full year
(Beaman, Bernaix, Schmidt, Harris, Miller, 2010). There are many factors responsible for these
statistics and multiple research studies have and are being conducted to fully understand which factors
have the biggest impact. Throughout these studies, education and support from the nurse during
pregnancy and after birth influence how mothers perceive breastfeeding, and a positive maternal
perception will lead to longer exclusive breastfeeding. In order to achieve this, nurses need to facilitate
a comfortable and knowledgable foundation starting during pregnancy and extending after discharge.

Personal Statement On Self Promotion
The self is constantly changing throughout our lifetimes. Every experience has the opportunity to
change how we will behave and think from then on. We discover our selves through different ways,
and every journey of discovery is unique for each person. Introspection, self promotion, self
verification, self esteem, as well as social comparisons all factor into how we view ourselves. When
we engage in introspection, we are taking a moment for ourselves to meditate upon who we think we
are. This can be challenging for some people. Asking close friends and family for their view is an
alternative to better understand who you are as a person. As everyone has his or her own personal
schema, our own one might be too clouded to properly view ourselves. Self promotion is one
technique that adolescents engage in order to boost their self image to other adolescents; adults use
this technique throughout their lives as well. It is frequently used at company functions, job
interviews, even at family reunions. No one wants to be that cousin. Self verification is also important
in the life of high school students. One student may agree with the alpha male or female that the item
of current inspection is lame or out of fashion simply to get an in with the head of the group. Self
esteem is the level of how we view ourselves. It is common to hear about this person or that person
having low self esteem or high self esteem. Their respective social standing seems to correlate with
their level of

Lead in our Drinking Water
All the controversy about the lead problems in Flint, Michigan has stirred up questions across the
country. Every day there are several news stories about cities across the country discussing the lead
issue and how they meet the requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act. While the average person
may feel comforted by these news stories, it doesn t mean that every home served by the water supply
has lead below the EPA s recommended action level. It s the job of water treatment professionals to
educate those served by municipal water about the regulations surrounding lead and copper and what
those consumers can do to protect themselves further.
The rules for lead and copper have changed over the years, so let s start at the beginning. Lead was
originally regulated under the Public Health Service Act of 1962, which established a guideline of
0.050 mg/L (ppm) for lead in drinking water. This was carried over into the Safe Drinking Water Act
of 1974. It wasn t until 1991 that regulation changed significantly under the Lead and Copper Rule.
This rule regulates how public water supplies must deal with the potential of lead and copper in the
drinking water. Additionally, there is also the Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act, which
regulates the amount of lead that can be in products that could come into contact with drinking water,
like pipes, plumbing fitting, fixtures, solder and flux.

Government Is An Instrument Of The State Essay
At times confuse is made among state and Government and the two words are used on the other hand.
Government is an instrument of the state through which it does its inspirations. A state, as we have

stated The first was an observation that the number of children diagnosed with Autism increased
dramatically right around the same time the MMR combination vaccine was introduced in the United
States and Great Britain. The second was based on a study by Dr. Andrew Wakefield in 1998
Published in the respected scientific journal Lancet. The third is based on the fact that children with
Autism were first diagnosed with the condition right after they received the MMR vaccine. (Leslie

not credible and his license is under legal indictment. (Leslie 69) Since Dr. Wakefield as found

Cocaine smuggling in containers fell off the charts for a while, but now they are back on the rise. NY

Shipping fees are inconsequential compared to the tens of thousands of dollars demanded by

The Customs Service is in charge of fighting cocaine smugglers, but they are also in charge of keeping

try to prevent the other team from doing the same thing. If you would ask 10 people who has a little
bit of a basketball knowledge, 8 out of them would invariably (3) pick MJ, and they would have
veracity (4)in this decision and they would justify it by just simply looking at the championship and
individual award numbers. However, I believe that if they faced each other in their primes, I would
have Kobe winning over MJ. To be eloquent (5), I must give some proofs. First of all, the speed of the
game, strength of the defenders and basketball itself

Vertical Collaboration Vs Vertical Coordination
According to Reframing Organizations the benefits of a formal structure helps a company to not waste
time and money especially on training products in an effort to solve problems that deal with social
architecture instead of people. Structure, basically a blueprint for internal management/ employees
and external constituencies like clients and competitors to follow. It has been said that structural form
enhances and constrains what an organization can accomplish. Originations that are successful
incorporate a variety of methods to coordinate individual and group efforts and to link local initiatives
to worldwide goals. They accomplish this by using both vertical and lateral coordination, they both
support growth in the organization. Vertical coordination is more through the chains of command.
Higher ups maintain the work of subordinates through authority, policy procedures, and planning
control. A great example of vertical coordination is farming. Ensuring each stage in the production,
processing, and marketing of a product is appropriately managed and interrelated to the next, so that
decisions about what to produce, and how much, are communicated as efficiently as possible from the
consumer to the producer (Vertical coordination. (n.d.). Retrieved March 12, 2016, from

Lateral forms are less formal and more flexible than authority systems and rules (Bolman, L. G., Deal,
T. E. (2013). Reframing organizations: Artistry, choice, and leadership (5th ed.). San Francisco, CA:

player but there a team captions in place for defense and offense. Although lateral is more relaxed

Children On The Waitlist For Licensed Nursery School
Title: Children on the Waitlist for Licensed Nursery School in Tokyo.
From: Public Secretary of the Governor in Tokyo Metropolitan Government
Preface:
According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) report, there are 8,466 children on the
waitlist for nursery schools in Tokyo as of April 1st 2016, Japan . The number has been increased by
652 from last year. This situation is the problem from viewpoints of two perspectives.
First, it will lead to the delay of women participation in labor force, and it can be serious from the
viewpoint of human rights. According to the report of Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare
(MHLW) in Japan, the ratio of female and male workers who took the child care leaves are 81.5% and
2.7% respectively . This comes from the traditional notion that men are breadwinners. Therefore, the
nursery shortage prevents mainly women from returning to their jobs, leading further gender
inequality.
Another perspective is the economic issue. The delay of women participation in labor force could be
serious in the long run. Japan is an aging society, and percentage of the population aged 65 and over is
now 26.0%, and this ratio is expected to go up to 36.1% by 2040 . In order to achieve further
economic growth, McKinsey Company points out that labor force participation of female in the 25 44
age should go up to about 80 percent by 2040, from 71 percent .
Summary:
The problem comes from the gap between the demand and supply for licensed nursery school,

Bendectin Case
Their conclusions were based upon in vitro (test tube) and in vivo (live) animal studies that found a
link between Bendectin and malformations; basically that the chemical structure of Bendectin was
similar to other other substances known to cause birth defects; and the reanalysis of previously
published epidemiological (human statistical) studies. In neither essence the submitted documents
were never published nor peer reviewed articles demonstrated a link between Bendectin and birth
defects. Merrell Dow had introduced evidence that no epidemiological study ever performed had
concluded that the use of Bendectin by pregnant women significantly correlated with the incidence of
birth defects in those women s children (Atikian, 1994 p.1516). ... Show more content on

137, 141 (1999). Patrick Carmichael blew out the right rear tire of a minivan and in the incident one of
the passengers died, and others were seriously injured. A diversity suit was brought against the tire
maker, Kumho Tire Co., and its distributors, claiming that the tire was defective. Rule of Law: Federal
Rules of Evidence (FRE) Rule 702 gives the district judge discretion to determine reliability of
evidence in regards to the circumstances and facts of a particular case. Dennis Carlson Jr. testified as
an expert witness for the petitioners as a tire failure analyst, intending that the tire s manufacture or
design caused the blow out. Whereas his opinion was based on visual and tactile inspection of the tire;
upon this theory this sort of tire failure was the result of a defect and not tire abuse. The petitioner s
moved to exclude Mr. Carlson s testimony on the ground that his methodology failed to satisfy Federal
Rules of Evidence Rule 702. The District Court granted the petitioner s summary judgment motion
arguing that in examining the factors set out in Daubert v Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals. Inc. Mr.
Carlson s methodology is not reliable. (Kumho Tire Co., 2015). The Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals
reversed, held that the District Court erred as a matter of law in applying Daubert, and held that the
Daubert factors did not apply to Mr. Carlson s testimony. (Kumho Tire Co., 2015). Judge Stephen
Breyer delivered the opinion for the United States Supreme Court holding that the Daubert factors
may apply to the testimony of engineers and other experts who are not scientists. The District Courts
decision to not admit Mr. Carlson s expert testimony was lawful because it found his methodology
unreliable after appropriate examinations (Rule 702,

  • 2. Social, Justice, Equality, And Social Justice Social justice is mutually a practice and a goal. The goal of social justice is complete and equal contribution by all people in a society that is equally designed to meet their needs. Social justice allows for all members of society to be physically and psychologically safe and secure. It is a set of values that allow us to understand what is right and wrong in our world regardless of race, culture and economic status. That we take care of those in need of help, so that they can take care of themselves. Social justice allows equal rights and opportunities to everyone in society. Economic justice is the belief that we are all entitled to equal opportunities to work. That you receive equal pay for equal work. That we have a fair and open job market. That even if you are an unskilled worker you can still make a living wage. Economic justice is good for everyone because it allows for us to be able to buy the goods made and keeps the economy steady. Social work supports the use an ecological and systems approach to help people with their problems, however for a long time no one paid much attention to the earth. Environmental justice also shines a light on racism and economic injustice. Look at places like Flint, where poor mostly black people were drinking lead laced water. Without natural resources such as clean drinking water we can t have good health and proper nutrition. Exposure to lead leads to cognitive disabilities and medical concerns. This leads to more need for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These two are the mysteries of the universe; they compose about 90% of the universe. They are mysteries because we believe that they exist but we can t see them or detect them. People question whether they manifest to be the same thing. Astronomers know very little about their constitution so they cannot assume they are related. Dark Energy is a mysterious force that drives the expansion of the universe. Astronomers states that the universe is expanding and the expansion is accelerating, so the unknown anti gravity force at work is termed dark energy. Dark energy has important consequences for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once the temperature of the Universe dropped below the neutron proton mass difference, neutrons began decaying into protons. If the early baryon density was low, then it was difficult for a proton to find a neutron with which to make helium before too many of the neutrons decayed away to account for the amount of helium we see today. So by measuring the He/H ratio today, they can calculate the necessary baryon density shortly after the Big Bang, and, consequently, the total number of baryons today. It turns out that you need about 0.05 M total baryonic matter to account for the known proportion of light isotopes. So only 1/20 of the total mass of the Universe is baryonic matter. This is probably the reason why Astronomers claim that Dark matter must exist to account for the gravity that holds galaxies together. If the only matter in the universe was matter we could directly detect, galaxies would not have had enough matter to have ever formed. The galaxies we observe today would fly apart because they wouldn t have enough matter to create a strong enough gravity to hold themselves together. Dark matter is also responsible for amplifying small fluctuations in the Cosmic Microwave Background back in the early universe to create the large scale structure we observe in the universe today. Astronomers are still in the hunt of the Dark energy and dark matter but they haven t found none. They are undetectable which makes it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Therefore, in dealing with these psychopathologies, the main goal is to somehow wake the thinking brain up so that it could fire the needed neurons to finally control the emotional brain. It can be as simple as trying to talk some sense into the person. This is because when a person is listening, it is the neocortex that is being used and will therefore fire up more neurons. These European concepts were and generally still form the ideology operating in Canada. Expansion of the ruling class empire is taken for granted and divinely supported. This is the basis for European exploration of the globe, claiming of already occupied lands and colonization of existing peoples. Manifest Destiny was the 19th Century settler belief that it was their destiny to expand throughout North America. Terra Nullius is the concept that land determined to be empty, in other words not being used productively by a civilized people, could be occupied by those Europeans who found it. Under the influence of love s tyrannical reign, both disregard their reservations and good sense; blinded by passion they escape to Parmenie to be legally wed. In Faulkner s work, Emily is an outsider because she chooses to remove herself from mainstream society by not interacting with other people. Similarly, in Anderson s work, Wing Biddlebaum chooses to remove himself from society since he has been falsely accused of being a child molester. In this way, both characters are outsiders in their communities by choosing to remove themselves of their own free will. First, there are several types of outsider based on different reasons. I never know the terminology for these habits until now. When reading the article, I could picture scenarios when I committed these errors. I have tendency of labeling everything! When I first moved to America, labeling/grouping items, people and so on really helped to simplify this new journey. Over the years I am realizing that that s a poor way of view life. I tend to label people, places, and etc. with little or no interacting. The last year there has been a lot in the media about police brutality and unfair treated for African American and minorities in general. When watching the news, I would make a state like these police officers are evil and out of control. , these officers are all racist and so on. Stating comments like these are completely unfair. Putting all officers in the same category is small minded and doesn t solve the problem facing us today. On top of that am implanting those false beliefs onto my little brother. Filtering out the positive was my second one. It doesn t matter how much I accomplish or do, all I focus on is what I could of them better. Originations that are successful incorporate a variety of methods to coordinate individual and group efforts and to link local initiatives to worldwide goals. They accomplish this by using both vertical and lateral coordination, they both support growth in the organization. Vertical coordination is more through the chains of command. Higher ups maintain the work of subordinates through authority, policy procedures, and planning control. A great example of vertical coordination is farming. Ensuring each stage in the production, processing, and marketing of a product is appropriately managed and interrelated to the next, so that decisions about what to produce, and how much, are communicated as efficiently as possible from the consumer to the producer (Vertical coordination. • 46. Children On The Waitlist For Licensed Nursery School Title: Children on the Waitlist for Licensed Nursery School in Tokyo. From: Public Secretary of the Governor in Tokyo Metropolitan Government Preface: According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) report, there are 8,466 children on the waitlist for nursery schools in Tokyo as of April 1st 2016, Japan . The number has been increased by 652 from last year. This situation is the problem from viewpoints of two perspectives. First, it will lead to the delay of women participation in labor force, and it can be serious from the viewpoint of human rights. According to the report of Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) in Japan, the ratio of female and male workers who took the child care leaves are 81.5% and 2.7% respectively . This comes from the traditional notion that men are breadwinners. Therefore, the nursery shortage prevents mainly women from returning to their jobs, leading further gender inequality. Another perspective is the economic issue. The delay of women participation in labor force could be serious in the long run. Japan is an aging society, and percentage of the population aged 65 and over is now 26.0%, and this ratio is expected to go up to 36.1% by 2040 . In order to achieve further economic growth, McKinsey Company points out that labor force participation of female in the 25 44 age should go up to about 80 percent by 2040, from 71 percent . Summary: The problem comes from the gap between the demand and supply for licensed nursery school, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bendectin Case Their conclusions were based upon in vitro (test tube) and in vivo (live) animal studies that found a link between Bendectin and malformations; basically that the chemical structure of Bendectin was similar to other other substances known to cause birth defects; and the reanalysis of previously published epidemiological (human statistical) studies. In neither essence the submitted documents were never published nor peer reviewed articles demonstrated a link between Bendectin and birth defects. Merrell Dow had introduced evidence that no epidemiological study ever performed had concluded that the use of Bendectin by pregnant women significantly correlated with the incidence of birth defects in those women s children (Atikian, 1994 p.1516). ... Patrick Carmichael blew out the right rear tire of a minivan and in the incident one of the passengers died, and others were seriously injured. A diversity suit was brought against the tire maker, Kumho Tire Co., and its distributors, claiming that the tire was defective. Rule of Law: Federal Rules of Evidence (FRE) Rule 702 gives the district judge discretion to determine reliability of evidence in regards to the circumstances and facts of a particular case. Dennis Carlson Jr. testified as an expert witness for the petitioners as a tire failure analyst, intending that the tire s manufacture or design caused the blow out. Whereas his opinion was based on visual and tactile inspection of the tire; upon this theory this sort of tire failure was the result of a defect and not tire abuse. The petitioner s moved to exclude Mr. Carlson s testimony on the ground that his methodology failed to satisfy Federal Rules of Evidence Rule 702. The District Court granted the petitioner s summary judgment motion arguing that in examining the factors set out in Daubert v Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals. Inc. Mr. Carlson s methodology is not reliable. (Kumho Tire Co., 2015). The Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals reversed, held that the District Court erred as a matter of law in applying Daubert, and held that the Daubert factors did not apply to Mr. Carlson s testimony. (Kumho Tire Co., 2015). Judge Stephen Breyer delivered the opinion for the United States Supreme Court holding that the Daubert factors may apply to the testimony of engineers and other experts who are not scientists. The District Courts decision to not admit Mr. Carlson s expert testimony was lawful because it found his methodology unreliable after appropriate examinations (Rule 702, ...
