Synthesis Essay-Survival Is Insufficient
Survival is Insufficient
What makes you human? Functioning organs and flowing blood would be a good answer but outside
of that what actually makes you human? It s the interactions that you make with others. It s you not
just surviving, but it s you living. When it comes down to the end of the day and you think back you
will realize that survival is not enough.
Even though you may not see it right away this same thought process is put in a lot of texts. One is
example is Teeth. This is a poem about how a boy has one American grandfather and one Japanese
grandfather. The American grandfather bombed Japanese homes, where the Japanese grandfather
lived, in 1945. Now that the years have passed the children of the families have gotten married and
given birth to Phil Kaye, the author of the poem. The thing that is surviving is Phil s grandfather. He

she wants. Juliet is just surviving for the sake of everyone else. Eventually she meets Romeo at a party
and they fall in love. They get married a couple of days later but she doesn t tell her parents. She
makes the decision to fake her own death in order for her to start living the life she wants with Romeo.
The text says O, bid me leap, rather than marry Paris, From off the battlements of yonder tower; Or
walk in thievish ways; or bid me lurk Where serpents are; chain me with roaring bears; Or shut me
nightly in a charnel house, O er cover d quite with dead men s rattling bones, With reeky shanks and
yellow chapless skulls; . This is Juliet saying that she would rather die than marry Paris because she

Smallpox Vaccines Argumentative Analysis
Ever since the invention of the first smallpox vaccine by Edward Jenner (In 1788, the scientist Edward
Jenner inoculated a healthy, 8 year old boy with cowpox, a disease caused by a virus that closely
resembles variola, this eventually led to the development of the smallpox vaccine), there has been
much controversy since then over the morality, ethics, effectiveness, and safety of vaccination and
immunization. It has recently been argued whether laws should be introduced that render some or all
vaccines obligatory for all school age children (Singer, 2009). Parents, physicians, school nurses,
teachers and children all have an important voice in this issue. Parents rightfully argue that it is they
who should have the ultimate decision making ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It wasn t until a year later, when the Food and Drug Administration recommended removing
thimerosal from childhood vaccines as a precautionary measure, stressing that it could find no positive
link with autism. Then the American press picked up on the debate.
In 2010, after a thorough investigation that revealed not only bad science but also financial conflicts of
interest, the original Lancet paper was retracted by the journal. Part of the costs of Dr. Wakefield s
research were paid by lawyers for parents seeking to sue vaccine makers for damages, Gardiner Harris
wrote in the New York Times. Dr. Wakefield was also found to have patented in 1997 a measles
vaccine that would succeed if the combined vaccine were withdrawn or discredited.
An investigation performed by the journalist Brian Deer found that not one of the 12 cases reported in
the 1998 Lancet paper was free of misrepresentation or undisclosed alteration.
It appeared that data had clearly been distorted
By 2011, the editors of the BMJ, a prominent medical journal, were calling the study fraudulent and

Thousands of people were fired from work and could not end up finding a job after. The

Dostoevsky Compare Contrast Essay
Renowned Russian Writers, Yevgeny Zamyatin and Fyodor Dostoevsky, implement the same ideas of
a dystopian society in their novels We and Brothers Karamazov. The two disturbing societies have a
profound effect on all characters, which creates different reactions from the protagonists of each
novel, D 503 and Ivan. Zamyatin introduces a dominating society in We, that forces views upon its
vulnerable people who are not emotionally stable enough to acknowledge their own lack of power and
freedom. Dostoevsky, author of Brothers Karamazov, specifically presents a character s intricate,
fictional story of the Grand Inquisitor that explains how God created a problem by the choices he
made, allowing the church to be influenced by the devil while also making the simulated society
accept control by the upper class. Although the Grand Inquisitor was a fictional story made up by the
main character, Ivan allows the fake ideas to consume his mind, altering how he sees the real world.

to consume the apple, is what ultimately leads to the destruction of society. By Adam and Eve

order would be restored. This explanation of temptation is depicted in We when D 503 meets I 330.
She introduces him to an alternative world of drugs, drinking, and free choice that pushes the
boundaries of the One State. When describing her, D 503 claims, I 330...She irritates and repels me,
she almost frightens me. But this is exactly why I said, Yes (Zamyatin 25). This rebellious attitude

The Causes Of Mass Violence And Video Games
Over the past couple years, mass crime has been a rising issue. Many experts have desperately been
seeking answers as to why these outbreaks have been occurring. However, maybe the answer is closer
than it appears. Across the country, mass violence has been a tragic and frequent problem. Video
games have been a popular topic when it comes to the investigation of the criminals committing these
cynical acts. But could it be possible that these violent video games actually are enabling an outlet to
unwind and shed the stress rather than influencing crime? In America, violent episodes over the years
have skyrocketed due to psychological stress. Video Games and other various forms of media,
however, offer a person an outlet or coping mechanism when facing emotional pressure. Therefore, by
making these forms of entertainment more affordable and accessible to all, American leaders could
greatly reduce episodes of mass violence. Experts have been hunting explanations for the outbreaks
across America. Many fingers cannot help but to point towards video games. Video games over the
years have advanced tremendously when it comes to their realistic qualities. Because some of these
video games have such dark content, it raises concern in certain people. However in an article written
by Ryan Dube, he states that. Although it is a big claim to make, it is proven many times over that
playing video games can relieve your stress, reduce your depression, and make you feel better . By

Memory Database And Cloud Computing
Consider In memory Databases and Cloud Computing In Memory Database / Cloud Computing
Approach The industrial use of databases is advancing to the point where modern and fast solutions
are required in most industries. Plattner (2011) states that Sub second response time and real time
analytics are key requirements for applications that allow natural human computer interactions. We
envision users of enterprise applications to interact with their software tools in such a natural way, just
like any Internet user interacts with a web search engine today by refining search results on the fly
when the initial results are not satisfying (Plattner, 2011). Keeping up with the South River hospital
and pharmacy s growth requires keeping up with this database technology. Subsequent queries are the
second, third, and so on, queries similar to when web users perform a search using their search engine,
only to refine the specifics to remove results non sequitur from their intended query. A sub second
response from the database is needed to keep the users mind on the task at hand and to not wander off.
As Plattner states: Any interval sufficiently longer than the speed of thought interval will be detected
as waiting time and the user s mind starts wandering to other topics, which is a process that cannot be
consciously controlled. How this affects our users be they clinical or pharmacy, is increased accuracy
to healthcare through technological advancement. Plattner further states

The Positive And Negative Aspects Of Social Media
As defined by the Merriam Webster dictionary, social media is: forms of electronic communication
(such as websites for social networking and microblogging) through which users create online
communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content (Merriam Webster s
online dictionary 2017). Social media is commonly used in today s society. Platforms like Facebook,
Instagram, and Twitter have taken over, building a community with many active users. Social media is
especially popular among adolescents. (Radovic et al.). Further, such sites as these allow for an easy
way to communicate and stay updated on the latest trends. However, it comes with many problems as
well. With all the time that is spent on social media, it can make people less concentrated on the real
world , and the access to an abundance of information can lead to self esteem issues. Therefore, social
media has more negative aspects than positive for the younger generations in particular. As mentioned
previously Social media does indeed have positive aspects, with the main one being easy
communication with the vast majority of the world. Moreover, Social media platforms make it so
simple to access unlimited information and to keep in touch with many more people than was thought
ever possible. Even though online interactions do differ from seeing someone in person, social media
platforms allow an easy form of interaction (Noor Al Deen and Hendricks 12). Communicating

The Use Of Nanomedicine
The essence of pharmaceutical treatment is for the administered drug to be present at the site of action
in a concentration that exceeds the minimum effective concentration. This is not always the case most
times because of some unchallengeable properties of the drug. As a matter of fact, there have been
several effective therapies made available for many disease conditions that have failed in their
effectiveness because of their inability to reach the site of action. The possible reasons for the poor
bioavailability of these drugs at the required site of action include; their inability to permeate
biological membranes, poor solubility in water as well as the drugs been rapidly broken down through
metabolism and cleared from the body ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nanocellulose are an excellent choice material because they are obtained from cellulose which is
abundantly available in nature, renewable, biodegradable, with low cost, low density, low ecological
toxicity risk, low cytotoxicity to a range of animals and human cells and unique mechanical
properties. It is an evolving renewable polymeric nanomaterial that holds promise in diverse
applications including food and pharmaceuticals. Interest in the production and utilization of
nanocellulose have in recent times attracted a lot of attention from both academic and industrial
researchers resulting from their mechanical strength, transparency and proven biocompatibility. This
attention is mirrored in the flow of publications in scientific literature in recent years. Exceptional
discussions on the chemistry, preparation, and the general properties of nanocellulose are obtainable
from numerous literatures. The surface chemistry of nanocellulose materials makes them an interesting
podium for ready and easy functionalization because they are almost entirely made of hydroxyl
groups. This tendency coupled with their biocompatibility is propelling their use within different
(bio)materials. Nanocellulose materials are in three categories depending on whether the cellulose is
of bacterial origin or derived from the

(LITA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA). This journal reviews and publishes
articles in the following areas related to library automation, the Internet and other aspects of
information technology (American Library Association, 2015).
The purpose of this study was to examine Content Management System (CMS) usage within the
academic library market and to provide librarians quantitative and qualitative knowledge to help make
decisions when considering switching to, or between, CMSs. (Connell, 2013) The author s purpose
was concisely and clearly stated and was in agreement with the title of the article.
The objectives of this study were four folds, namely to determine (1) the level of saturation of CMSs
in the academic library community; (2) the most popular CMSs within academic libraries, the reasons
for the selection of those systems, and satisfaction with those CMSs; (3) if there is a relationship

Sherman Alexie s Ten Little Indians
Sherman Alexie s writing contains irony and dark humor in order to draw attention to the ongoing
issues Native Americans face. Throughout Ten Little Indians, Sherman Alexie illustrates the journeys
of modern day Spokane Indians and the struggles they face while trying to find their true identity. The
struggles include the stereotype of a Spokane Indian and pursuing a life outside of the reservation.
Corliss, the main character of the chapter, believes in the nonconformity of people, fighting against
social expectations, and not following stereotypes. This feeling of nonconformity is heavily present
throughout this chapter, especially when Corliss is talking about herself. Fight your stereotypes! she
exclaims when she notices how easy it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Search Engine is a pun and engine is a play on words of the racial slur injun which proves that the
title symbolizes Corliss determination and passion. She is a searching injun trying to find where she
belongs whether it be in her Native American society or in the world outside of her reservation.
Corliss has always known that Indians were obsessed with authenticity. Colonized, genocided, exiled,
Indians formed their identities by questioning the identities of other Indians, (Alexie 40). Corliss is
authentic in her own way because she chooses to pursue a different life than what is expected of her
from her family. She is much more determined to find a life that fits her and brings her pure joy. Also,
it s ironic that Harlan Atwater poses as a Spokane Indian. He writes about the poor living conditions
on an Indian reservation, but in reality he has no connection to the Spokane reservation. Being raised
by a white family eliminates Harlan s authenticity as a Native American writer, thus making him an
outsider in Spokane society. Harlan also relates to the title of the chapter. He has been searching for
his identity as either a Spokane Indian or as a white male. He wants to know the feeling of being an
Indian who lived on a reservation which made him create this fake Spokane Indian character. After his
book fails, he decides to accept his

who, as it turned out, were all his good friends from battle school. Then all of a sudden it switched to

The Creation Of The Church
The landscape of the church has changed greatly since the early days of the 1st century. The small
groups, seen in the Book of Acts, have been replaced by large centralized denominations and religious
institutions, and in the process, the idea that the Body of Christ is a family has been relegated into
large groups of strangers. The early church was a family unit that extended far beyond the ideals and
principles experienced in the church today (Sprinkle, 2015). The 1st century church exemplified
fellowship, commitment, and service to others and was held together by an unconditional bond made
possible by Jesus Christ (Sprinkle, 2015). The church in Acts was also devoid of hierarchy and actual
buildings, except for synagogues. Christians, in the 1st century, were neither militaristic nor voracious
for power; instead, they looked to the cross and overcame evil through suffering and love, rather than
weaponry (Sprinkle, 2015). Early Christians took the church to the people as Christ intended, as such;
it was not uncommon for many to gather in the homes of others or any other place suitable for
fellowship, worship, and the study of God s Word. The church was more about people, rather than the
four walls containing the people of the modern day church (Sprinkle, 2015). Characteristics of the
early church comprised of total acceptance of others, complete fellowship with God, and the spiritual
dynamics of teaching, eating together, praying together, singing together, and even

From 1930 through 1960 the Chilean economy was highly protected with import and export quotas,
import permits, tariffs, noninterest bearing import deposits and multiple exchange rates imposed by
the government. The Central Bank negotiated, with each importer, which exchange rate to apply to
each transaction. Moreover, imports included only intermediate and capital goods and a few essential
consumer goods. Guidelines to approve products from other countries were followed and several
goods were prohibited for importation. Because of this situation, there were three attempts to

Killer Queen Description
Killer Queen by Queen is very intriguing to me for one big reason, depending on how I look at the
lyrics; I cannot decide whether the song is about a classy prostitute or a homosexual man; however,
before going into this ambiguity, I must establish some background for the song and its history. Queen
is a British rock band formed in 1970; at the time of this song being written, the lineup was: Freddie
Mercury, on lead and backing vocals; Brian May, on electric guitar and backing vocals; Roger Taylor,
on drums and also backing vocals; and John Deacon on bass guitar. Though the band started out with
heavier rock, this song marked their transition towards a more glam rock or pop rock tone of music; a
change that proved extremely successful for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As an example we can look at the first verse; it opens by informing listeners that this queen keeps a
very fancy wine (Moët et Chandon) in her cabinet, showing that she is a person who wants to come
across as refined and fancy, and then moves into saying that she recites the famous Let them eat cake
quote, Just like Marie Antoinette , the queen of France before the French Revolution. This line is
where it starts alluding to the fact that she is not simply the refined and high class lady she appears to
be. Marie Antoinette is famously misattributed to that quote, and while initially well received and
liked by the French populace, people grew to dislike her and accused her of being promiscuous in
addition to other accusations. So while the line seems to just be painting her as a refined person, it is
actually alluding to her true nature. The song goes on in many other lines to describe this Killer Queen
; she appears to be a high class woman who is at times, as Mercury himself put it, a whore. This forms
the basis of the most accepted (and perfectly valid) interpretation of the song; however, as it is already
well accepted, it is not the interpretation I would like to focus on getting

and fast food restaurants make it possible for their customers to still get a chance to eat no matter what
the situation may be. Even worse, if a parent is taking his or her child to school in the morning, they

In A Room with a View, author E.M. Forster contrasts Florence, Italy and Surrey, England in an
attempt to reveal the interests and desires of Lucy Honeychurch, the main character. Forster does this
through showing differences between what each country represents, Lucy s suitors, and the
expectations of men and women in each location. The differences between the countries show how the
life Lucy wants to live and the life she is expected to live differ, and how these differences ultimately
contribute to the meaning of the work.
Each country in the novel represents a conflict in Lucy s life. While in Italy, Lucy is given the freedom
to roam and explore as she pleases. On page 30 it states, I think I shall go out, said Lucy. I want to go

Cecil, on the other hand, believes women are the lesser sex and wants to offer Lucy less independence
because of it. So ran her thoughts, while her faculties were busy with Cecil...When he was cross he
was always elaborate, and made long, clever answers where Yes or No would have done, as stated on
page 109. This passage shows Cecil s unnecessary pretentiousness, and it reveals that Lucy not only
notices his attitude, she finds it distasteful. George, on the other hand, is proven to be joyous and free.
This can be shown on page 105, He smiled, flung himself at them, splashed them, ducked them,
kicked them, muddied them, and drove them out of the pool. The actions listed describe George s
behavior in the pond. He is out there simply enjoying life, and that is the personality Lucy finds
herself wanting. That is the kind of personality that matches Italy, as it fosters independence and joy.
This contradicts England and Cecil, both of which foster pretentious behavior and a stuffy
environment.
Once Part II of the novel is reached, the book transitions from Italy to England. The attitude and
atmosphere shifts, but so do expectations of women. On page 96 it states, At last she longed for
attention, as a woman should, and looked up to him because he is a man. This sentence is referring to
Lucy and Cecil. This is a representation of England because sentences like this are not found in Part I
of this book, only in Part

Thich Nhat Hanh s A Little History Of Philosophy
Today I am reading A Little History of Philosophy. The book talks about philosophical ethics which
are mainly views a person could use to determine who or what is good or bad, and assessing ideas that
others have proposed. Ethics is important because it lays the foundation of reality and the basis of the
way we should live our lives. It is a vital key to living a more happy, healthy, and discerning life.
People who live a more ethical life tend to be more dependable, understanding, honest, caring, and
happy. The study of philosophy is very useful in the daily lives of nursing and allied health majors.
The three philosophers whose ideas will be useful to me in a nursing and allied health setting are
Buddha and his teaching of right mindfulness, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His views on true happiness were different then what we think happiness entails. Aristotle thinks that
when we are children, we don t know what happiness is, therefore children couldn t be happy. I think
he was trying to help us understand the reason for this is, happiness to them is more of luxury, such as
playing outside or playing video games. Children haven t endured stressors or any other life problems
to fully gain happiness. As we mature in life, we see and understand the value of life and we find what
makes us truly happy. These are the things we need, not desire. Aristotle s way of seeking happiness is
defined in a more deeper meaning of life. He used the Greek word Eudaimonia, which is occasionally
translated as flourishing or success rather than happiness (Warburton, 2012 pg.11). The choices we
make, such as the type of person we want to be and the things we want to do in life is how we flourish
and succeed. Although, our Eudaimonia can be affected by of life happenings, such as losing a loved
one, our moral character, the way we respond and deal with these events is how we continue to have

Manhattan Country Club Job Analysis
For our final team project our group has decided to analyze and look at a Food and Beverage Manager
at the Manhattan Country Club. According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics in 2014 there were
305,000 Food and Beverage Managers that made an average salary of $48,690 per year. Some of the
important duties of the job we found were overseeing employees to hire, fire, and train them. They
need to ensure employees are complying with health/food safety rules. It is also important for Food
and Beverage Managers to take food and beverage complaints and handle them properly. They also
need to schedule staff and assign duties and responsible to each person. A big part of any job is also

If we are looking to fill the position of a Food and Beverage Manager it would be particularly smart to
recruit from the inside. We think it would be in the company s best interest to recruit from the inside
because in the restaurant industry is hard to get thrown into the environment and dynamic when you
are on the outside. When recruiting internally it is easiest to let employees know there is a job opening
by word of mouth. We think it is important to send a notice out to all employees to ensure they all
have a fair opportunity to apply for the position if they feel fit. This is a good idea to recruit internally
because it shows everyone inside the company that they can move forward and advance if they meet
the standards. It would be typical for an assistant manager to advance into the position of an active
manager. When we are recruiting internally it is important to keep employees feelings in check.
Jealousy could arise and it has to be clear that everyone has a chance to apply for the position, but not
everyone is as qualified as we need them to be. Some of the criteria we need for this position is
experience, problem solving skills, and knowledge of profit and loss statements. ServSafe
certifications with alcohol and food safety would be helpful. It is also important to be educated with
CPR. Among safety concerns it is important to have physical qualifications for the job. These
qualifications include being able to lift at least 50 pounds, and being able to be on feet for around 12
or more hours a day. This job can be very demanding at times. It might be unusual for some of these
physical demands, but since we are dealing with a smaller staff sometimes situations arise where help
isn t always going to be available. Our group went to the Manhattan Country Club to interview our
Food and Beverage Manager to get a list of qualifications needed to fit the job description and

Summary Of The Enslavement Of Equally Capable People By...
The Enslavement Of Equally Capable People In addition to becoming one of the greatest challenges to
the US Constitution, slavery played a significant part of American history. The controversy of whether
or not the practice was constitutional became a leading cause of the bloodiest war in American history.
Benjamin Banneker, the African American farmer, astronomer, mathematician, surveyor, author, and
son of former slaves, writes to Thomas Jefferson in an attempt to claim African American equality to
whites and change Jefferson s pro slavery stance by emphasizing equality in education and religion,
forming an appeal to empathy, and creating a respectful yet critical tone. Part of the pro slavery
argument includes the idea that African Americans are inferior to whites genetically and culturally.
Through subtle implications in his writing, Banneker addresses this ideology without directly claiming
his equality to Jefferson and whites in general. Banneker writes long, complex sentences that take up
entire paragraphs. Additionally, Banneker uses complex words and phrases to express his ideas such
as providential preservation as well as abhorrence thereof . In creating a complex style of writing
through long sentences and educated words, Banneker argues his point that he and his people are
equal intellectually to whites without even having to state it explicitly. An overwhelming majority of
African Americans had no opportunity to become educated due to their suppression; thus, Banneker
suggests that if all his people had the educational opportunity as he had, all could be on his level of
literacy and intelligence. Furthermore, Banneker alludes to the Bible constantly, most notably while
quoting the Bible to aid his appeal to empathy: and as Job proposed to his friends, put your souls in
their souls stead . The fact that Banneker was able to reference the Bible in a way that supplemented
his appeal to empathy emphasizes his biblical knowledge and accordingly cultural and religious
equality to Jefferson, who additionally was a well learned christian. Banneker now argues his point
through the persona of another Christian, which adds even more weight to his perspective compared

was wrong, as most of the attendees were from group homes around Ames and they were there as part
of their recovery process. This shocked me a little but in just the short amount of time I spent with

Gonorrhoeae
Virulence of N. gonorrhoeae is associated with pili, which demonstrate a crucial function in the
forming of the initial attachment to the host cell. Pili twitching motility assist the pathogen in its
upstream migration of the non motile gonococci, which allows for the colonization and ascendance to
the mucosal surfaces. CD46 also plays an important role as it is a complement regulatory protein and
can be associated with having properties of a membrane cofactor receptor. CD46 is specific to
humans, and is expressed by all nucleated cells of trans membrane proteins. CD46 has been identified
as having a receptor for gonococcal pilus. N. Gonorrhoeae posse piliated gonococci that adhere to a
host by synthesis of dense microcoloniess on the cell s surface. The Opa proteins as well as

COP 3330 Object Oriented Programming

Object oriented programming at its core is a practice of strategic thinking. Essentially, in OOP we tend
to focus on objects rather than actions and data rather than logic. A key step in OOP is identifying the
objects one wants to manipulate and observing how they relate to each other. The basic idea of OOP
involves breaking up the code into objects that can message each other, which proves to be very
beneficial. To better understand and use object oriented programming as intended, I decided to
investigate two different languages that implement the object oriented approach to programming. I
chose Java because I am already familiar with the syntax and its ... Show more content on

C# is a general purpose programming language as part of Microsoft s .NET initiative. It was designed
for the Common Language Infrastructure (CLI). C# applications are compiled into bytecode that can
run on implementations of the CLI. The fact that Microsoft own Visual Studio means that the IDE is
not easily accessible to anyone, as Java is. That is later mentioned in the differences between the two.
From an article that suggests that C# is an evolution of Java, I was able to gather evidence on the
similarities between them and understand the ways that C# actually improves upon, when compared to
Java. An interesting discovery in my research was that the keywords in Java language are very similar
to the ones in C#; for example, new, bool, this, break, static, class, throw, virtual, and null. But they
are a few different keywords in C# that simply are not the same as in Java. Furthermore, C# and Java
share the same primitive data types, with the exception that C# uses the System namespace regarding
those objects. In C# and Java, there is built in garbage collection, it helps prevent memory leaks by
removing objects that are no longer being used by the application. Basically, this means that, although
memory leaks can occur, memory management is pretty much taken care for you. From an article that

Enlightenment Era Research Paper
The Enlightenment is marked as a period in time that challenged people to think for themselves. While
it did not mean removing a belief in God from a person s life, it usually meant refraining from reliance
on God and instead relying on oneself. Prior to the Enlightenment, there stood few influential people
in America who branched away from the Puritan lifestyle; however, that quickly changed as changed
during the Enlightenment period. J. Hector St. John de Crèvecoeur, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas
Jefferson, and Thomas Paine were important figures in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries who
exhibited an enlightened way of thinking, which helped to inspire the thoughts of future generations.

Jefferson eschewed the idea of absolute authority and tyrannical rule as he wrote, that whenever any

ascribed heartily enough to the progressive ideas of individualism and freedom that they were willing

Literary Argument On Willy Loman From Death Of A Salesman
Researched Literary Argument on Willy Loman from Death of a Salesman
Death of a Salesman by the author Arthur Miller revolves around one family and the troubles they are
facing due to growing older and becoming senile. Willy Loman was born on May 13, 1889, and in
1949 when the story is set, he was 60, this is during post WW1 America, this was a different time with
different social cues and norms that will be evident throughout the story. Willy s ambition is to take
part in the American dream and strike it rich by the sweat of his own brow. The kind of success Willy
is looking for is not merely being able to provide for his family but having people know who he was
what he was about and what a great character he had. Once Willy starts lacking the success he is used
to he becomes disconnected with the world and this is when his senile tendencies start to show these
things hint at a deeper medical problem; things like having flashbacks to when he was happy and
satisfied with his performance and the still unsquandered potential of his progeny.
At a certain point in life once you ve been beaten down and stepped on you will reach rock bottom,
although not enjoyable, once there the only progression is an improvement to your current situation.
Willy has a hard time facing the music and accepting what is inevitable. this manifests itself in the
story through willy s inability to stay grounded in what s happening in the current moment, his mind
always wandering to a time in which

Analysis Of The Grizzly Man By Werner Herzog
Grizzly Man
Werner Herzog directed a documentary film called Grizzly Man to show viewers how much interest
Timothy Treadwell demonstrated towards human nature and how he demonstrates human nature
through himself. Timothy Treadwell spent thirteen long summers in Alaskan Peninsula. He went to go
portray his love and protection to the wild life and grizzly bears, which lead him to his miserable
death. Herzog creates a sequence of scenes, comments, and interviews from people who is well
connected directly or indirectly with Treadwell. His purpose of directing the Grizzly Man
documentary through Treadwell s own film was to convey the viewers the difference of human beings
and the wild life animals. Herzog s main effective argument was to convey how courageous and how
insane Treadwell was to spend thirteen summers in the wild life of grizzly bears. Werner Herzog
created this documentary of Treadwell s films because he was not your ordinary type of guy. He was
very bold, brave, adventurous. Herzog introduces Treadwell with one of Treadwell s shots that he
films during his grizzly bear journey. Treadwell states,

In 1932, King Abd al Aziz established the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Though he passed away in 1953,
the monarchy continued through his sons. The Kingdom is located in the Middle East, with the
Persian Gulf to the East and the Red Sea to the West. At 2,149,690 km2 it is the 13th biggest country
in the world. Its location provides it with strong shipping capabilities particularly for oil through use
of the Gulf and the Suez Canal. The land is mostly uninhabited with dry sandy deserts, plateaus and

Comparison Of Soccer Balls
Background
Although a soccer ball may look like a sphere is not a real sphere. When you look closely at the actual
ball you will see that it is polyhedron made of different shapes. A polyhedron is a three dimensional
object composed of flat polygon sides typically connected at the edges (Wolfram 1999). The most
common shape of modern soccer balls is called a truncated icosahedron. Icosahedron is a shape made
up of 20 triangles. To create a more round object the icosahedron is truncated. Here, truncated applies
to cutting off the edges which makes the icosahedron look more round ( Icosahedron, 2014). The
truncated icosahedron has 32 total faces including 12 regular pentagons and 20 regular hexagons with

How Did Vincent Van Gogh Influence The World
Vincent was an important figure in American History because he helped inspire many great artists
know today. To this day he is described as the Greatest Dutch Painter as well as a strong influential
that inspired many great artists like Gauguin, Pissarro, Monet, and Bernard. If you hear a voice within
in you say you cannot paint , then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced . This was one of
Van Gogh s inspirational quotes stating that everything in this world can be overcome and how you
can do anything you put your mind to. Anna Carbentus Van Gogh gave birth to her first son, Vincent
Van Gogh on March 30, 1853 in Zundert Netherlands where he also grew up. He was the oldest out of
6 kids and lived with his parents Theodorus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Van Gogh was taken to a nearby hospital and his doctors sent for Theo, who arrived to find his brother
sitting up in bed and smoking a pipe. They spent the next couple of days talking and then van Gogh
asked Theo to take him home. On July 29, 1890, Vincent van Gogh died in his brother s arms at age
37. Theo, who was suffering from syphilis and was emotionally unstable after his brother s death, died
six months later in a Dutch asylum. He was buried in Utrecht, but in 1914 Theo s wife, Johanna, who
was a dedicated supporter of van Gogh s works, had Theo s body reburied in the Auvers cemetery next
to Vincent. Johanna then collected as many of van Gogh s paintings as she could, but discovered that
many of them had been destroyed or lost, van Gogh s own mother having thrown away crates full of
his art. On March 17, 1901, 71 of van Gogh s paintings were displayed at a show in Paris, and his
fame subsequently grew enormously. His mother lived long enough to see her son hailed as an artist
and a genius. Today, Vincent van Gogh is considered the greatest Dutch painter after Rembrandt. He
completed more than 2,100 works, consisting of 860 oil paintings and more than 1,300 watercolors,
drawings and sketches. Several of his paintings rank among the most expensive in the world; Irises
sold for a record $53.9 million, and his Portrait of Dr. Gachet sold for $82.5

Use of Generalist Fair Use Defence in Australian...
The objective of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) is to protect those who create works, such as artistic
works or literary works, as well as those other subject matter, such as films or sounds recordings, from
those who would serve to exploit or profit from their labor, skill and creativity. But, what about those
who use these protected works and other subject matter for interests different to the above? Such as
for educational purposes or for broadcasting? Under the act, there are listed many defences to protect
an individual or a corporation from infringement of copyright, or in other words, directly or indirectly,
infringing those exclusive rights that the copyright owner possess, also listed under the act . These

photographs. Other international conventions include General Agreement on Trade and Tariffs
(GATT), first signed in 1947, and Agreement on Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property
(TRIPS), signed in 1995, which covers trade related areas of copyright. In the UK, the Copyright Act

major influence on Australian copyright law was adopted into Australia by virtue of the Copyright Act
1912 (Cth). This UK piece of legislation also recognized the importance of legislating in this area. In
the United States, this area is legislated by the Copyright Act 1976 (USA). This piece of legislation
will be discussed below when dealing with fair use defences. It is clear, that on an international scale,
the importance of protecting intellectual property is paramount. Works of an individual s skill,
independent thought and labour needs to be protected, to prevent exploitation, rip offs, and encourage
future individuals to create new works or other subject matter other than works.
The Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), as stated above, was introduced in response to the growing need to

Over the years Gansberg s article brought about debunkers that claimed fewer than thirty eight people
actually saw what happened to Kitty. Pelonero researched for herself through police reports, trail
transcripts and reading through statements made by witnesses. In doing so Pelonero found that instead
of bringing a new light on the case it their statements produced a watered down version of the murder.
Pelonero s article does a good job stiffing through Gansberg article presenting the errors within his
article like the fact that he stated there were three attacks, but Winston Moseley confessed in court that
he attacked her twice. Pelonero speaks about the origin of the number thirty eight which is a big point
used by people who believe Gansberg article to be stuff of myth which seemed to fall in a gray area.
A.M. Rosenthal claimed in his book, Thirty Eight Witnesses, that the police commissioner Michael
Murphy was the first to mention the number. People close to Gansberg who has passed away say that
Gansberg counted the witnesses himself. Looking through police reports Pelonero found that thirty
night was a understatement because sixty nine people admitted hearing screams. Many of them did not
see anything but about thirty did admit to seeing Kitty s attack. A closer look at the police log
Pelonero found the claims that anyone called the police

Research Question:
Does the concentration of Potassium Iodide (KI) affect the rate of its reaction with hydrogen peroxide
(H2O2) (of a fixed concentration)?
Introduction:
There are several factors that affect the rate of a reaction. Some of them being Pressure (if the
reactants are Gases), Temperature, Presence of a Catalyst, Surface Area of the reactant, and
Concentration. According to the Collision Theory, during a reaction, particles collide with each other
and react if the geometry of the collision is correct. In this Experiment, we will investigate the effect
of varying concentrations of Potassium Iodide on its reaction with ... Show more content on

The Potassium Iodide particles will increase and the frequency of their collisions with Hydrogen
Peroxide particles will also increase, causing them to react quicker.
I hypothesize that as I increase the concentration of the Potassium Iodide Solution, the rate at which
the blue black starch complex covers the X marking on the tile, will also increase until a point where
the rate will remain the same due to all the particles having already finished reacting.

One of the heaviest themes used in the novel, The Joy Luck Club , is immigration. Immigration is
mainly mentioned during the times of the four mothers. Each mother had come from china because the
Japanese were causing damage and destruction across China. This is very like the article named, U.S.

Not all but a handful of Hispanic immigrants are criminals along with the cartel to make money and
easily survive as an immigrant in the U.S. In the novel, the mothers were mainly stay at home moms
who took care and fed the children while the men went out to work for the money. It much easier now
as an immigrant to get into crime as it was before because there are much more options that pay large
amounts of cash for those willing to take the job. The women in the novel didn t have lives of crime as
easily accessible to them as it is now. Immigration is a very problematic and debatable topic in many
ways. Its isn t easy being an immigrant no matter what country you come from or where you settle.
The novel shares stories of Chinese immigrants and the article shares how it is as a Hispanic
immigrant. Although being very differing culture, they are still share many similarities.

The Pros And Cons Of Reproduction Of Art
Reproduction
Reproduction of art is something that has been done throughout history. As technology advances, so
does the way that people reproduce art. From early ages to current times the reproduction of art has
had a varying opinion as to whether it should or should not be done. Some groups believe that art
should be kept in a small elite community. They are the ones who believe art should not be reproduced
and spread throughout the world. On the other hand, there are those who believe art is meant to be
seen by everyone. This group believes art should be reproduced so that the masses have an equal
opportunity. Time has improved technology, which has aided the ability to reproduce art.
Art has been recreated in many ways over the ages. In the past, the main means of recreating would
have been to be in front of the original and then to attempt to make an identical copy. The downside is
that there would always be some flaw or difference. On the positive side, this would still allow far
more people to view it. Overtime as technology advanced we have developed new ways to reproduce
art. The next major jump in technology lead us to the invention of the camera. The camera allowed
someone to take a picture of the original, which was far more accurate version of reproduction. The
camera also allowed people to create multiple prints of the photo, meaning a greater amount of people
could to view the image. Berger did not care for what the camera has done for art as he suggests The
uniqueness of every painting was once part of the uniqueness of the place where it resided.
(Berger,114) Technology has advanced even further since John wrote this literature, but I believe he
would be even more disgusted by digital media. With digital media, we are capable of spreading an
image across the world in seconds, and anyone can view it.
John Berger makes a numerous amount of remarks in Ways of Seeing towards what the reproduction
of art has done to the art community. As Berger expresses his opinion in his essay, he states What the
modern means of reproduction have done is to destroy the authority of art and to remove it. (Berger,
page 126) This makes it clear that Berger is against the reproduction of art. This connects him

  • 2. Synthesis Essay-Survival Is Insufficient Survival is Insufficient What makes you human? Functioning organs and flowing blood would be a good answer but outside of that what actually makes you human? It s the interactions that you make with others. It s you not just surviving, but it s you living. When it comes down to the end of the day and you think back you will realize that survival is not enough. Even though you may not see it right away this same thought process is put in a lot of texts. One is example is Teeth. This is a poem about how a boy has one American grandfather and one Japanese grandfather. The American grandfather bombed Japanese homes, where the Japanese grandfather lived, in 1945. Smallpox Vaccines Argumentative Analysis Ever since the invention of the first smallpox vaccine by Edward Jenner (In 1788, the scientist Edward Jenner inoculated a healthy, 8 year old boy with cowpox, a disease caused by a virus that closely resembles variola, this eventually led to the development of the smallpox vaccine), there has been much controversy since then over the morality, ethics, effectiveness, and safety of vaccination and immunization. It has recently been argued whether laws should be introduced that render some or all vaccines obligatory for all school age children (Singer, 2009). Parents, physicians, school nurses, teachers and children all have an important voice in this issue. Parents rightfully argue that it is they who should have the ultimate decision making ... Part of the costs of Dr. Wakefield s research were paid by lawyers for parents seeking to sue vaccine makers for damages, Gardiner Harris wrote in the New York Times. Dr. Wakefield was also found to have patented in 1997 a measles vaccine that would succeed if the combined vaccine were withdrawn or discredited. • 5. Dostoevsky Compare Contrast Essay Renowned Russian Writers, Yevgeny Zamyatin and Fyodor Dostoevsky, implement the same ideas of a dystopian society in their novels We and Brothers Karamazov. The two disturbing societies have a profound effect on all characters, which creates different reactions from the protagonists of each novel, D 503 and Ivan. Zamyatin introduces a dominating society in We, that forces views upon its vulnerable people who are not emotionally stable enough to acknowledge their own lack of power and freedom. Dostoevsky, author of Brothers Karamazov, specifically presents a character s intricate, fictional story of the Grand Inquisitor that explains how God created a problem by the choices he made, allowing the church to be influenced by the devil while also making the simulated society accept control by the upper class. Although the Grand Inquisitor was a fictional story made up by the main character, Ivan allows the fake ideas to consume his mind, altering how he sees the real world. Though Zamyatin and ... This explanation of temptation is depicted in We when D 503 meets I 330. She introduces him to an alternative world of drugs, drinking, and free choice that pushes the boundaries of the One State. When describing her, D 503 claims, I 330...She irritates and repels me, she almost frightens me. But this is exactly why I said, Yes (Zamyatin 25). • 6. The Causes Of Mass Violence And Video Games Over the past couple years, mass crime has been a rising issue. Many experts have desperately been seeking answers as to why these outbreaks have been occurring. However, maybe the answer is closer than it appears. Across the country, mass violence has been a tragic and frequent problem. Video games have been a popular topic when it comes to the investigation of the criminals committing these cynical acts. But could it be possible that these violent video games actually are enabling an outlet to unwind and shed the stress rather than influencing crime? In America, violent episodes over the years have skyrocketed due to psychological stress. Video Games and other various forms of media, however, offer a person an outlet or coping mechanism when facing emotional pressure. Therefore, by making these forms of entertainment more affordable and accessible to all, American leaders could greatly reduce episodes of mass violence. Experts have been hunting explanations for the outbreaks across America. Many fingers cannot help but to point towards video games. Video games over the years have advanced tremendously when it comes to their realistic qualities. Because some of these video games have such dark content, it raises concern in certain people. Memory Database And Cloud Computing Consider In memory Databases and Cloud Computing In Memory Database / Cloud Computing Approach The industrial use of databases is advancing to the point where modern and fast solutions are required in most industries. Plattner (2011) states that Sub second response time and real time analytics are key requirements for applications that allow natural human computer interactions. We envision users of enterprise applications to interact with their software tools in such a natural way, just like any Internet user interacts with a web search engine today by refining search results on the fly when the initial results are not satisfying (Plattner, 2011). Keeping up with the South River hospital and pharmacy s growth requires keeping up with this database technology. Subsequent queries are the second, third, and so on, queries similar to when web users perform a search using their search engine, only to refine the specifics to remove results non sequitur from their intended query. A sub second response from the database is needed to keep the users mind on the task at hand and to not wander off. As Plattner states: Any interval sufficiently longer than the speed of thought interval will be detected as waiting time and the user s mind starts wandering to other topics, which is a process that cannot be consciously controlled. How this affects our users be they clinical or pharmacy, is increased accuracy to healthcare through technological advancement. Plattner further states ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Positive And Negative Aspects Of Social Media As defined by the Merriam Webster dictionary, social media is: forms of electronic communication (such as websites for social networking and microblogging) through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content (Merriam Webster s online dictionary 2017). Social media is commonly used in today s society. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter have taken over, building a community with many active users. Social media is especially popular among adolescents. (Radovic et al.). Further, such sites as these allow for an easy way to communicate and stay updated on the latest trends. However, it comes with many problems as well. With all the time that is spent on social media, it can make people less concentrated on the real world , and the access to an abundance of information can lead to self esteem issues. Therefore, social media has more negative aspects than positive for the younger generations in particular. As mentioned previously Social media does indeed have positive aspects, with the main one being easy communication with the vast majority of the world. Moreover, Social media platforms make it so simple to access unlimited information and to keep in touch with many more people than was thought ever possible. Even though online interactions do differ from seeing someone in person, social media platforms allow an easy form of interaction (Noor Al Deen and Hendricks 12). The struggles include the stereotype of a Spokane Indian and pursuing a life outside of the reservation. Corliss, the main character of the chapter, believes in the nonconformity of people, fighting against social expectations, and not following stereotypes. Corliss has always known that Indians were obsessed with authenticity. Colonized, genocided, exiled, Indians formed their identities by questioning the identities of other Indians, (Alexie 40). Corliss is authentic in her own way because she chooses to pursue a different life than what is expected of her from her family. She is much more determined to find a life that fits her and brings her pure joy. Also, it s ironic that Harlan Atwater poses as a Spokane Indian. He writes about the poor living conditions on an Indian reservation, but in reality he has no connection to the Spokane reservation. Being raised by a white family eliminates Harlan s authenticity as a Native American writer, thus making him an outsider in Spokane society. Harlan also relates to the title of the chapter. • 14. The Creation Of The Church The landscape of the church has changed greatly since the early days of the 1st century. The small groups, seen in the Book of Acts, have been replaced by large centralized denominations and religious institutions, and in the process, the idea that the Body of Christ is a family has been relegated into large groups of strangers. The early church was a family unit that extended far beyond the ideals and principles experienced in the church today (Sprinkle, 2015). The 1st century church exemplified fellowship, commitment, and service to others and was held together by an unconditional bond made possible by Jesus Christ (Sprinkle, 2015). The church in Acts was also devoid of hierarchy and actual buildings, except for synagogues. Christians, in the 1st century, were neither militaristic nor voracious for power; instead, they looked to the cross and overcame evil through suffering and love, rather than weaponry (Sprinkle, 2015). Early Christians took the church to the people as Christ intended, as such; it was not uncommon for many to gather in the homes of others or any other place suitable for fellowship, worship, and the study of God s Word. The church was more about people, rather than the four walls containing the people of the modern day church (Sprinkle, 2015). Characteristics of the early church comprised of total acceptance of others, complete fellowship with God, and the spiritual dynamics of teaching, eating together, praying together, singing together, and even ... Queen is a British rock band formed in 1970; at the time of this song being written, the lineup was: Freddie Mercury, on lead and backing vocals; Brian May, on electric guitar and backing vocals; Roger Taylor, on drums and also backing vocals; and John Deacon on bass guitar. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As an example we can look at the first verse; it opens by informing listeners that this queen keeps a very fancy wine (Moët et Chandon) in her cabinet, showing that she is a person who wants to come across as refined and fancy, and then moves into saying that she recites the famous Let them eat cake quote, Just like Marie Antoinette , the queen of France before the French Revolution. This line is where it starts alluding to the fact that she is not simply the refined and high class lady she appears to be. Marie Antoinette is famously misattributed to that quote, and while initially well received and liked by the French populace, people grew to dislike her and accused her of being promiscuous in addition to other accusations. So while the line seems to just be painting her as a refined person, it is actually alluding to her true nature. The song goes on in many other lines to describe this Killer Queen ; she appears to be a high class woman who is at times, as Mercury himself put it, a whore. The restaurants are advertising toys to children; this will bring them in. Some fast food restaurants are the world s largest distributors of toys. A survey of American school children found that 96% could identify Ronald McDonald. Once the children are in the restaurant, they buy the fast food to get a toy. The high fat foods taste good to these youngsters, which in turn makes them believe that fast food is quick, easy and satisfying. • 22. Analysis Of A Room With A View By E. M. Forster In A Room with a View, author E.M. Forster contrasts Florence, Italy and Surrey, England in an attempt to reveal the interests and desires of Lucy Honeychurch, the main character. Forster does this through showing differences between what each country represents, Lucy s suitors, and the expectations of men and women in each location. The differences between the countries show how the life Lucy wants to live and the life she is expected to live differ, and how these differences ultimately contribute to the meaning of the work. Each country in the novel represents a conflict in Lucy s life. While in Italy, Lucy is given the freedom to roam and explore as she pleases. On page 30 it states, I think I shall go out, said Lucy. So ran her thoughts, while her faculties were busy with Cecil...When he was cross he was always elaborate, and made long, clever answers where Yes or No would have done, as stated on page 109. This passage shows Cecil s unnecessary pretentiousness, and it reveals that Lucy not only notices his attitude, she finds it distasteful. George, on the other hand, is proven to be joyous and free. This can be shown on page 105, He smiled, flung himself at them, splashed them, ducked them, kicked them, muddied them, and drove them out of the pool. The actions listed describe George s behavior in the pond. He is out there simply enjoying life, and that is the personality Lucy finds herself wanting. That is the kind of personality that matches Italy, as it fosters independence and joy. This contradicts England and Cecil, both of which foster pretentious behavior and a stuffy environment. Once Part II of the novel is reached, the book transitions from Italy to England. The attitude and atmosphere shifts, but so do expectations of women. On page 96 it states, At last she longed for attention, as a woman should, and looked up to him because he is a man. This sentence is referring to Lucy and Cecil. The book talks about philosophical ethics which are mainly views a person could use to determine who or what is good or bad, and assessing ideas that others have proposed. People who live a more ethical life tend to be more dependable, understanding, honest, caring, and happy. I think he was trying to help us understand the reason for this is, happiness to them is more of luxury, such as playing outside or playing video games. Children haven t endured stressors or any other life problems to fully gain happiness. As we mature in life, we see and understand the value of life and we find what makes us truly happy. These are the things we need, not desire. Aristotle s way of seeking happiness is defined in a more deeper meaning of life. He used the Greek word Eudaimonia, which is occasionally translated as flourishing or success rather than happiness (Warburton, 2012 pg.11). The choices we make, such as the type of person we want to be and the things we want to do in life is how we flourish and succeed. If we are looking to fill the position of a Food and Beverage Manager it would be particularly smart to recruit from the inside. We think it would be in the company s best interest to recruit from the inside because in the restaurant industry is hard to get thrown into the environment and dynamic when you are on the outside. When recruiting internally it is easiest to let employees know there is a job opening by word of mouth. We think it is important to send a notice out to all employees to ensure they all have a fair opportunity to apply for the position if they feel fit. This is a good idea to recruit internally because it shows everyone inside the company that they can move forward and advance if they meet the standards. It would be typical for an assistant manager to advance into the position of an active manager. When we are recruiting internally it is important to keep employees feelings in check. Jealousy could arise and it has to be clear that everyone has a chance to apply for the position, but not everyone is as qualified as we need them to be. Some of the criteria we need for this position is experience, problem solving skills, and knowledge of profit and loss statements. ServSafe certifications with alcohol and food safety would be helpful. It is also important to be educated with CPR. Among safety concerns it is important to have physical qualifications for the job. These qualifications include being able to lift at least 50 pounds, and being able to be on feet for around 12 or more hours a day. This job can be very demanding at times. It might be unusual for some of these physical demands, but since we are dealing with a smaller staff sometimes situations arise where help isn t always going to be available. • 25. Summary Of The Enslavement Of Equally Capable People By... The Enslavement Of Equally Capable People In addition to becoming one of the greatest challenges to the US Constitution, slavery played a significant part of American history. The controversy of whether or not the practice was constitutional became a leading cause of the bloodiest war in American history. Benjamin Banneker, the African American farmer, astronomer, mathematician, surveyor, author, and son of former slaves, writes to Thomas Jefferson in an attempt to claim African American equality to whites and change Jefferson s pro slavery stance by emphasizing equality in education and religion, forming an appeal to empathy, and creating a respectful yet critical tone. Part of the pro slavery argument includes the idea that African Americans are inferior to whites genetically and culturally. Through subtle implications in his writing, Banneker addresses this ideology without directly claiming his equality to Jefferson and whites in general. Banneker writes long, complex sentences that take up entire paragraphs. Additionally, Banneker uses complex words and phrases to express his ideas such as providential preservation as well as abhorrence thereof . In creating a complex style of writing through long sentences and educated words, Banneker argues his point that he and his people are equal intellectually to whites without even having to state it explicitly. An overwhelming majority of African Americans had no opportunity to become educated due to their suppression; thus, Banneker suggests that if all his people had the educational opportunity as he had, all could be on his level of literacy and intelligence. Furthermore, Banneker alludes to the Bible constantly, most notably while quoting the Bible to aid his appeal to empathy: and as Job proposed to his friends, put your souls in their souls stead . The fact that Banneker was able to reference the Bible in a way that supplemented his appeal to empathy emphasizes his biblical knowledge and accordingly cultural and religious equality to Jefferson, who additionally was a well learned christian. Banneker now argues his point through the persona of another Christian, which adds even more weight to his perspective compared one of an intellectual son ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A key step in OOP is identifying the objects one wants to manipulate and observing how they relate to each other. The basic idea of OOP involves breaking up the code into objects that can message each other, which proves to be very beneficial. From an article that suggests that C# is an evolution of Java, I was able to gather evidence on the similarities between them and understand the ways that C# actually improves upon, when compared to Java. An interesting discovery in my research was that the keywords in Java language are very similar to the ones in C#; for example, new, bool, this, break, static, class, throw, virtual, and null. B) Create a regular hexagon To draw a regular hexagon we followed the instructions provided online (Hartley, 2013). 1) Set the radius of the compass to 5 cm. It is critical that it stays at this length. Throughout the process check that the length stays at 5 cm. 2) Draw a line 5 cm long and label the points A and B (. 3) Draw 2 small arcs centered at point A and point B towards the center of the line AB. Label the point where the two arcs cross as point 1. This is the center of the regular hexagon and the vertices of the hexagon will be on a circle centered at this point. 4) Initially draw a full circle centered at point 1. In future steps you only need to draw arcs near where the vertices occur. 5) Using point B as the center, draw a short arc that crosses the circle. Label the point of intersection point ... They spent the next couple of days talking and then van Gogh asked Theo to take him home. On July 29, 1890, Vincent van Gogh died in his brother s arms at age 37. Theo, who was suffering from syphilis and was emotionally unstable after his brother s death, died six months later in a Dutch asylum. Johanna then collected as many of van Gogh s paintings as she could, but discovered that many of them had been destroyed or lost, van Gogh s own mother having thrown away crates full of his art. On March 17, 1901, 71 of van Gogh s paintings were displayed at a show in Paris, and his fame subsequently grew enormously. Pelonero researched for herself through police reports, trail transcripts and reading through statements made by witnesses. In doing so Pelonero found that instead of bringing a new light on the case it their statements produced a watered down version of the murder. Pelonero s article does a good job stiffing through Gansberg article presenting the errors within his article like the fact that he stated there were three attacks, but Winston Moseley confessed in court that he attacked her twice. Pelonero speaks about the origin of the number thirty eight which is a big point used by people who believe Gansberg article to be stuff of myth which seemed to fall in a gray area. A.M. Rosenthal claimed in his book, Thirty Eight Witnesses, that the police commissioner Michael Murphy was the first to mention the number. People close to Gansberg who has passed away say that Gansberg counted the witnesses himself. Looking through police reports Pelonero found that thirty night was a understatement because sixty nine people admitted hearing screams. Many of them did not see anything but about thirty did admit to seeing Kitty s attack. A closer look at the police log Pelonero found the claims that anyone called the police ... • 47. The Pros And Cons Of Reproduction Of Art Reproduction Reproduction of art is something that has been done throughout history. As technology advances, so does the way that people reproduce art. From early ages to current times the reproduction of art has had a varying opinion as to whether it should or should not be done. Some groups believe that art should be kept in a small elite community. They are the ones who believe art should not be reproduced and spread throughout the world. On the other hand, there are those who believe art is meant to be seen by everyone. This group believes art should be reproduced so that the masses have an equal opportunity. Time has improved technology, which has aided the ability to reproduce art. Art has been recreated in many ways over the ages. In the past, the main means of recreating would have been to be in front of the original and then to attempt to make an identical copy. The downside is that there would always be some flaw or difference. On the positive side, this would still allow far more people to view it. Overtime as technology advanced we have developed new ways to reproduce art. The next major jump in technology lead us to the invention of the camera. The camera allowed someone to take a picture of the original, which was far more accurate version of reproduction. The camera also allowed people to create multiple prints of the photo, meaning a greater amount of people could to view the image. Berger did not care for what the camera has done for art as he suggests The uniqueness of every painting was once part of the uniqueness of the place where it resided. (Berger,114) Technology has advanced even further since John wrote this literature, but I believe he would be even more disgusted by digital media. With digital media, we are capable of spreading an image across the world in seconds, and anyone can view it. John Berger makes a numerous amount of remarks in Ways of Seeing towards what the reproduction of art has done to the art community. As Berger expresses his opinion in his essay, he states What the modern means of reproduction have done is to destroy the authority of art and to remove it. (Berger, page 126) This makes it clear that Berger is against the reproduction of art. This connects him ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
