Mars Flight
JJ slipped in and out of consciousness, struggling to think straight, his mind racing as he reflected
back on his monumental journey. People say your life flashes before your eyes as you re dying, but
what was JJ seeing? As he kept spiralling out of control, his memory flashed back to the beginning of
this risky journey...
Day 0: Pre launch; Earth
The moment humans have been waiting for for decades is finally here. The first manned flight to the
planet Mars, the furthest terrestrial planet from the Sun. After a century of only dreaming, it has
finally become a reality. So many years of planning went into making this first launch possible. Mars
orbit is the most eccentric of any planet in the Solar System. At it s fastest it moves at a speed of 26.50
km/s, slower than the Earth s and at it s point closest to Earth it is 55,700,000 km away [1]. All the
calculations to time it just right, all the brainpower of engineers working night and day, all the years of
selecting who would be the first man to ever get this close to our planetary neighbor.
Such a huge mission required selection of the best team. The most skilled and experienced advisors,
scientists, engineers, instrument readers gathered from all over the world to make this dream a
successful reality. This was The Team making this mission possible, but who would be the one to
actually experience it?
After multiple rounds of testing, elimination, and training, a lone astronaut was selected for this
monumental mission.

Computer Network And The World Wide Web System
Introduction
The past thirty years have seen increasingly rapid advances in the field of Database. Moreover the
amount of data being stored in electronic format has been increased dramatically. This increased gives
rise to increase accumulation of data at a very quick rate. In addition, the volume of information in the
world has been projected to doubles every two years. For example, the health care database system or
financial database system is worth instances for the types of data that are being collected and
increased dramatically. In fact we are living in a world where vast amounts of data are collected daily
and we cannot stop our live to interact with data because we are actually living in an age of the data.
There are Terabytes or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These necessities have prompted the conception of Data Mining that has been changing the live from
the data age toward the coming information age. A considerable amount of literature has been
published on Data Mining and the aim of this survey is concerned with the ideas behind the processes;
purpose and techniques of Data Mining. [1][2]
1. What is Data mining In every day live, the word Mining refer to the process that discovered a small
set of valuable pieces from a great deal of raw material as in mining process of gold from rocks or
sand. According to [3] Data Mining, or Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) as it is also known,
is the process of extraction of implicit information that previously unknown and potentially useful
from database. By using a number of different technical, such as clustering, data summarization,
learning classification, finding dependency networks, analyzing changes, and detecting anomalies.
Data Mining refers to a variety of techniques that can be used to analyses and observes database in
order to find relationships or summarize the data in ways that can be put to use in different areas such
as decision making, prediction and estimation and to do that there are a sequence of the process [2] .

The British Army And The Civil War
England, 1947. Princess Elizabeth marries George VI, Duke of Edinburgh, in one of the most lavish,
anticipated televised events of the decade. The University of Cambridge allows the acceptance of
women after nearly 750 years in existence. The British army begins to withdraw troops from the Civil
War in Mandatory Palestine. Brain May, a rock n roll phenomenon, is born. All significant in their
respective areas, these event hold their own place in history. Not one, but two of these events would
result in important rulers. More specifically, they would both result in a Queen. Brian May, born July
19, attended Hampton Grammar School during his adolescence. His parents, Harold and Ruth May,
raised him in a middle class, suburban environment and instilled the importance of an education into
their beloved only child. He furthered his schooling at Imperial College in London, England where he
studied Physics and Mathematics, with a particular focus in Astrophysics. Although his education was
of an utmost importance, it was at Imperial that he explored his interest in music. May created the
band Smile with singer and bassist Tim Staffell and drummer Rodger Taylor in early 1968. Their time
was short as the band only recorded a total of six songs in their two year run. Recognizing Smile s
inevitably unsuccessful future, the band parted ways. Brian and Roger however, remained close
friends and kept their options open in the hopes of possibly making another attempt in the music

John Bowlby s Attachment Theory
Applications of Theories on Precious Precious is a movie based on the novel Push by Sapphire
(Daniels and Fletcher, 2008). It is on the life of an illiterate 16 year old African American girl,
Claireece Precious Jones. (Natividad, 2010). I have applied John Bowlby s Attachment Theory and
Erik Erikson s Theory of Psychosocial Development on the film. These theories helped identify an
understanding of the characters, family group, and community in the film. I have primarily assessed
Precious as the chosen character. This paper will analyze the many factors in assessing her human
behavior. The main character of the movie is Claireece Precious Jones who often went by her middle

The journal article named The crisis of fair value accounting: Making sense of the recent debate is
written by Christian Laux and Christian Leuz in Accounting and Organisations and Society journal
(2009). Mr Laux works as a professor of finance at the Goethe University in Frankurt and his research
has been published in many journals. Mr Leuz works as a professor of International Economics at
University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He has done a lot of research and published his
findings in several journals while acquiring many several grants and honours. Both authors have an

There is more flexibility for manipulation of the accounting figures. The authors also points out that
this flexibility for manipulation should not be underestimated citing past loans and goodwill policies
crisis.
The article also finds after discussing the arguments for and against Historical Cost Accounting that is
could not be a good replacement for FVA and HCA has problems more severe than the problems with
FVA.
The article concludes that the debate about FVA is full of arguments that do not hold up to further
scrutiny and need more economic analysis. The authors concludes that in their view, it is better to
design prudential regulation that accepts FVA as a starting point but sets explicit counter cyclical
capital requirements.
The article concludes that trade off between transparency and financial stability as well as the
interactions between accounting and prudential regulations needs further analysis and suggest areas
for further research which includes whether FVA did in fact contribute to the financial crisis through
contagion effects, and the interactions between FVA and other important elements of the institutional
framework.
The articles also suggests the study should be done to find out the what role HCA may have played for
the banking crisis and the role of, off balance sheet vehicles and retained positions

Antisocial Personality Disorder
Every person is commonly known for their unique personality, and the traits each of us have that are
different than others. One thing many people suffer from is some Personality Disorder such as
Antisocial Personality Disorder. Antisocial Personality Disorder (APD) is a disorder that is going
against and violating other people s rights (Corner, 2014). Individuals with this disorder are more
found to link with a criminal history or showing signs of criminal activity (Corner, 2014). Researchers
are more apt to look at a person s behavior rather than personality traits and psychopathological
aspects of what caused this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A person may be known to be irritable, aggressive and quick to start fights (Corner, 2014). Signs can
come from a criminal past or criminal experience, possibly to develop due to living environment.
Once a doctor can establish the symptoms, they can diagnose and get an understanding of what may
have caused those symptoms to develop. Researchers are found to look at the behavior causes of
Antisocial Personality Disorder rather than the personality traits and psychopathological aspects
(Martens, 2000). Further research is still being done to determine the primary cause of this disorder
such as brain injuries that can occur at a young age (Martens, 2000).

This article tries to sum up the causes of Antisocial Personality Disorder. Though, researchers have not
found an exact cause of Antisocial Personality Disorder (Martens, 2000). Antisocial Personality
Disorder is known to be directed toward specific behaviors and criminal act instead of looking at
personality traits and psychopathological aspects (Martens, 2000). People that develop Antisocial
Personality Disorder are more likely to suffer from substance abuse disorder, anxiety, depression, and
schizophrenia (Martens, 2000). Researchers have done different studies especially with brain injuries,

Sexual Identity Exploration And Commitment
The very first item in the Measure of Sexual Identity Exploration and Commitment asks to evaluate on
a six point Likert type scale ranging from 1 to 6 how firm of a sense I have of what my sexual needs
are, penciling in a 4 where 6 delineate very characteristic, I begin to think of how much certainty is in
my beliefs about sex and sexuality while knowing that the survey questions to follow will surely not
be easy to answer with an absolute degree of confidence.
Do I know what my preferences for expressing myself sexually truly are? Another 4, but not a
surprise; if I already admitted to not having the firmest sense of what my sexual needs are, how could
I come to express preferences not wholly defined in my own mind. In my life, I have ... Show more

the core and cannot say to never have clearly identified the basis for the most primal of them and

morals I was exposed to in youth in and out of the parental household.
What truly surprised me as a worked my way through the survey questions, was the immediacy of the
rebuttal to the entry my sexual orientation is not clear to me. Though a heterosexual in general
practice, currently involved in a monogamous heterosexual relationship between cisgender
individuals, I am not a stranger to displays of affection of what could be considered of the homosexual
kind; never have I been involved in what I would define as a romantic relationship with another man,
but I have been more intimate with my close male friends than what I have seen other be, sharing
kisses of affection and friendly love without later engaging in more physical demonstrations of
romantic love. Like all, I d like to think, I am able to appreciate and express friendly love, valuing it
greatly as a component of my social life, and not limiting the extent of such emotion to a particular
gender; in the expression of this love, I find enjoyable the connection made by something as
innocuous as a hug, but possibly because of my upbringing in Italy, I further appreciate the intimate
kisses shared on

Mayan Religious Practices
The Mayan and American religious practices are alike and different in many ways. First of all, the
Mayans tend to be more religious and focus a lot on the gods, while the American religion we aren t as
religious, even though we still have a god. The second big thing to know is that the Mayans only had
themselves to rely on while the Americans today have many things to rely on, such as tools and
machines! That is part of why the Mayans are so religious, because they relied on themselves and the
gods. The Mayan religious practices consist of many different things. The Mayans believe that if the

Americans write with pen, pencil, marker, etc.. we often write on paper as well. Americans have an

are less demanding, they keep the country running smoothly, including laws. In most jobs today we
have employees and tools to help us solve our problems, we use machines to build, whereas the

Analyze How The Media Distort The News
Jervand Asatrjan

1. Do the media today report the news or distort the news? Do we watch news or entertainment? What
do you think CNN s role, or the BBC s should be? What about Al Jazeera? Is news reporting today
objective or is it necessarily culturally biased?
In my opinion, media today distort the news. In the book Bias: A CBS Insider Exposes How the Media
Distort the News author Bernard Goldberg discusses how CBS distorts the news and possible motives
behind such a choice (Goldberg, 2014). With today s technology advances and Internet being so
popular it is still almost impossible to find news outlets that are credible and are not biased. As a

Although I side with opponents of news as entertainment , I believe many proponents of new media
strategy do not share my point of view or perhaps recognize how much money making potential news
as entertainment provides. Arguably, news has become more of an entertainment. Just to quote some:
local news channel, the entire weekend, was reporting on the next big Halloween Party or the best
hunted house around the town. Surely this choice begs the question why is news not reporting on what
is going on in Syria, when the next Federal Reserves interest hike might happen, or what is happening
behind the closed doors of Wall Street. I can only speculate why news became what it is now. My
outlook in things might be outdated ore wrong; nonetheless, it is the product of lack of good news and
excess of entertainment news. It feels as if people are so afraid or are so confused to hear the real news
that they choose the easy way out by consuming the time on hand in hopes to guess who is going to be
the next winner of The Voice and not what is the status of global

The Pros And Cons Of The Intolerable Acts
The Intolerable Acts were a series of laws passed by British Parliament in 1774 with the intent to
suppress the colonial Boston. The series of laws closed the ports and placed it under martial law. The
Sons of Liberty were a group of colonial protestors which issues a call for a boycott. Merchant
communities were skeptical to participate unless everyone could mutually agree on terms and means
to enforce the provisions. Pressure from the groups was quickly mounting, colonial legislatures
empowered delegates to attend a Continental Congress where they would set up terms for a boycott.
Philadelphia September 5, 1774, The Congress first met. With delegates representing each of the 13
colonies except for Georgia. By the Next month, Congress had come up with a Plan. October 20,
1774, The Articles of Association were adopted by Congress. The Articles of Association stated that if
the Intolerable Acts were not repealed by December 1, 1774, the colonies began a boycott of British
goods. Inside the Articles, there were outlined plans for an embargo on exports if the Acts were not
repealed before September 10, 1775. Within the Articles of Association were fourteen different articles

Lady Macbeth Feminism Essay
Feminist issues have always been controversial throughout history and gender topics remain debatable
matters in the context of the democratic society of the 21st Century. Over and over again these
representations are revisited, seeing just how many degrading representations the modern day woman
can overcome before finally adopting these stereotypes as the norm in her everyday life. It is almost
like a game to see how many obstacles women can overcome; each obstacle yet another generalised
representation of women in literature and film. Shakespeare exampled this through the classic, 1606
play, Macbeth, as did director Sam Mendes in one of the iconic James Bond films, 2012, Skyfall.
Through classic pieces of literature and modern day film, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ironically, this is perceived through the exaggerated emotive language of having them replaced by a
direst cruelty . Lady Macbeth pleads, make thick my blood, stop up the passage to remorse ,
conveying that if her blood was made thicker the blood flow throughout her body would slow down
and natural human functions would shut down. Metaphorically she wants the flow of remorse and pity
to be cut off, and to be unhuman. Furthermore, she pleads that her breast milk is turned to bile. A
woman s breasts have the natural function to feed, and is a source of life for a growing baby, while
bile is a bitter, foul green coloured substance made in the liver which provides no nourishment.
Allegorically, this links back to Lady Macbeth s reversal of nature and challenge of gender
expectations. Shakespeare cleverly weaves this allegory through the play to symbolise a warning to
Lady Macbeth and or women of the 17th century, for what will happen if they rebel and challenge
societal expectations. Consequently, Macbeth gains in murderous masculinity, ordering killing after
killing, while Lady Macbeth lapses back into the feminine helplessness she had earlier rejected.
Madness, curiously, forces her back into the stereotypical femininity that

ABSTRACT In this paper we are going to illustrate a way to cluster similar news articles based on
their term frequency. We will using python and nltk to recognize keywords and subsequently using
hierarchical clustering algorithm. This method can be used to build news aggregation backends.
Aggregation means clustering like documents from different sources. There is fast moving data and
heterogeneity of sources in news aggregation scenarios. We need to remove the duplicates arising due
to heterogeneous sources. General Terms Hierarchical clustering, algorithms, aggregation, news, text
mining et al. Keywords Python, nltk, feedparser, news aggregation. 1. INTRODUCTION News
Aggregators can be considered a multilateral platform of interconnection [1]. In principle, news
aggregators can be a substitute or a complement to the news outlets who invest in the creation of news
stories. A policy debate centers around the decrease in the incentives for news creation that results if
readers choose to consume their news through aggregators without clicking through to the news
websites or generating any revenue for the outlets [2]. Getting these two ideas in perspective our ideas
is to get a small script in python which anyone can run on their own

Why Was The Anzac Day Important In Australia
Why is the Anzac legend important for future generations?
It was a remarkable day and a day in which it was easy to pick out the wasters, also the brave men. I
am delighted with our Australian troops, the way they take the gruel is splendid.
(T. J. Richards https://www.theage.com.au/articles/2004/04/17/1082140118215.html )
ANZAC day is a very special and important day to Australians. It is a day where we honour and
remember the soldiers who fought and died for our country. It is also a day where we come together
and appreciate our freedom and reflect back on how far Australia has come since WWI. Most
importantly, it is a day to reflect on the spirit of the ANZACs. I believe that the ANZAC legend is

During the 19th century, Australia s first involvement in the great war in 1915, meant changes to lives
of people from all walks of life, out on the battlefields and even back home, in Australia. The impact
on ultimately all aspect of Australian society, however, did not end when the guns fell silent in
November 1918. Instead, it was continued for years, when the tens of thousands of soldiers returned
with their problems because of the war which it effects on Australian life seem much more apparent.
The war s impact in Australia, in terms of food, was generally its increase in price by 32% between
1914 and 1918, which was very low compared to other European countries, where there was also
rationing, because of food shortages. WW1 also impacted them by the effected the put towards the
war and to see people to know who they were. Without WW1 we probably won t be here today under
a roof with our phones and TVs we have today.
To all Australians, ANZAC day is a tradition, paid for in blood and celebrated in our freedom. It is a
day in which not only do we salute the ANZACs, but in paying tribute to them, we also take the
opportunity to invigorate our national spirit and pride. Ever since WW1 Australia has had more
freedom then they did back in 1913. One of the main reasons why many soldiers sign up to go to the
war was to get more freedom and to be able to make their own choices. Thanks to the soldiers, today

Essay On Parker Space Challenger
The parker space probe is set to be launched in the window of 31 July and 19 August. Using Venus
gravity, the probe will orbit around the Sun with decreasing time period. After seven flybys around
Venus, this probe will achieve a speed of about 200 km/s and a distance of 8.5 solar radius from the
surface.[1] The main objective of the mission is to expand our understanding of solar corona and solar
winds which directly influences the space weather surrounding the Earth. This space weather affects
the life and society on Earth and so it is important to understand these solar winds.

This upper atmosphere and the magnetic field form a coupled system with the Sun and the geospace.
This coupled system and their interaction with each other is studied under the Sun Earth Connection
program.[4]
The Sun is a hot ball of gas made of hydrogen. Most of its gas is in the fourth state of matter known as
plasma, where the gas heats up to the point where atoms break up into plasma. The Sun s plasma is so
hot that it escapes the Sun s gravitational field. This escape of plasma from the Sun is also known as
Coronal Mass Ejection or CME. The escaped plasma forms the solar wind which blows out of the Sun
and travels across the solar system with a speed of 500 Km/s, interacting with the planets magnetic
field and atmosphere. These interactions result in the change of the planets, or in our case, the Earth s
magnetic field from the dipole magnetic field to a plasma swept magnetosphere. The interactions also
produce current to flow through the Earth s upper atmosphere and the magnetosphere causing neon
light like effect resulting in the formation of aurora.[5]The Sun s atmosphere also results in other
effects such as prominences and solar flare. The solar flares eject high energy particles and gases
which are about 13 million oC. These solar flares also cause strong space weather changes by
producing a stream of highly energetic particles which impacts Earths magnetosphere.[6] Thus, these
solar winds and solar flares are an

Parallel Support Vector Machines Is A Supervised Machine...
Parallel Support Vector Machine
Junfeng Wu Junming Chen May 6, 2016
1 INTRODUCTION
Support vector machines is a supervised machine learning alogrithom used for classification. The
problem could be written : minimize 1 |w |2 2 yi((w,xi)+b)−1≥0 where w is a linear combination of the
training data: n w = αi k(xi ) i=1 this could be further written in a dual form[5]: min 1αTQα−eTα α2
0≤αi ≤C, yTα=0,
∀i ≤n where Q is the kernel matrix.
This dual form is a quadratic programming problem with linear constraints. A solver to this problem
like SMO or IPM reuquires a time complexity of O(n3) and space complexity of O(n2), which makes
SVM hard to scale. In our final project we implemented two parallel quadratic programming solvers
for SVM and implemented a matrix factorization algorithm to improve the performance. Later we
evaluated our implementation.

Marketing, Web Design and Web Development
Web design is a blend of creativity and technicality, or graphic design and web development. As a
result of this blend the industry s necessary skills, necessary education, and job offerings can be
variable. Individuals interested in this industry should attempt to vary their skill sets as much as
possible. Companies such as a Forix, combine marketing, design and technical skills to customize
their products. Additionally, individuals should expect to discover that some careers will rely more
heavily on technical skills, while other careers rely more heavily on design skills.
The web design and development industry are relatively new. This modern industry was built off of
the inventions of 1974, when computer researchers invented the internet protocol suite (TCP/IP).
TCP/IP is somewhat like human communication: when we speak to each other, the rules of grammar
provide structure to language and ensure that we can understand each other and exchange ideas.
Similarly, TCP/IP provides the rules of communication that ensure interconnected devices understand
each other so that they can send information back and forth. (Google Chrome Team, 2010, pg. 5).
It was not until 1989 that the internet was conceived. A man named Tim Berners Lee created the
World Wide Web server through HTML or, hypertext markup language. Just like humans have a
standard of living, the internet had not reached a suitable

changes in technology. For example, ninety per cent of participants could not explain the purpose of
WiFi, which is becoming a standard feature in all new mobile phone releases. For this reason, we must

Christianity Research Paper
RESEARCH PAPER ON CHRISTIANITY AND THE MAJOR DENOMINATIONS
Christianity has been the cornerstone religion since the foretold birth of Christ, 21 centuries ago. The
religion itself has gathered a following of about 2.1 billion people, which is over a third of the world s
population. However, not all of the aforementioned can be lumped under the same name of
Christianity. Today, there are almost 40,000 denominations of Christianity practiced all over the world,
each with its own unique beliefs and practices. The 2 most popular denominations today are Roman
Catholicism and Protestantism. The purpose of this essay is to examine the historical significance of
the two most predominate sects of Christianity.

People believe that the split between Protestantism and Roman Catholicism began in 1517, when (
Ramm) Martin Luther published his ninety five Theses. Sickened by the corruption of the Roman
Catholic Church, Luther thought that the ideals of Christianity were being ignored. He believed that
the Catholic Church saw Christianity as more of a business. The activities in the Roman Catholic
Church mirrored his thoughts as they sold spots in heaven through parties, and had pastors forgive
people for their sins if offered money. Luther said that everyone should read the bible and appreciate
the religion for what it was meant to be. He daringly began spreading his ideas of Christianity to the
world. He wrote his own idea that spoke of what he believed the religion should and posted them on
the church walls itself. The message he spread was embraced by those who saw the misdoing of the
church and other that read the bible and understood its importance. Of Course there were difficulties
with the message he was trying to spread. The church and especially the bibles were almost all in
Latin and it made it difficult for the masses to have access to these tools, even if they had access to a
bible most could not read the old Latin it was written in However, luckily or by faith the printing
press, an invention from China spread to Europe and soon the bible was accessible and readable.

Knights Essay Sample
The last time the Newcastle Knights participated in finals footy, a Mitchell Pearce led Roosters side
knocked them out of a Grand Final qualifier, and they went on to win the competition.
Since that time, the Knights only have three wooden spoons to show for what has been the darkest
period in the club s history.
As the community club of the NRL, the Knights have some of the most loyal fans in the league that
continually fill McDonald Jones Stadium on a weekly basis, irrespective of their position on the
ladder.
The Knights massive recruitment drive for 2018 was recently topped off with the signature of Pearce,
who was drawn to the club by the loyal community so hungry for success.

In the last month I ve spoken to a lot of people I respect that are close to me, that want the best for you
but at the end of the day it came back to me, I had a good feeling about Newcastle.
I ve got high hopes for this season, I really believe that we can push a lot of teams this year; the sky is
the limit with this group.
Among that group of young players is Brock Lamb, who broke out last year as a rising star punching
above his weight in terms of responsibility for a 20 year old.
He shouldered that responsibility incredibly well, but his future at the club is uncertain with the
addition of Pearce and Watson, as well as current halfback Trent Hodkinson.
In a situation that seems identical to Cronk wanting Pearce to stay at the Roosters, the latter hopes to
play alongside Lamb in Knights colours next year.
I d love Brock to stay, before I came here I was a big fan of the way he played, Pearce said.
For a 20 year old the way he played in a team that was down the bottom of the ladder was a real
standout.
He s got a massive future and is a local junior so I d love to form some sort of combination there.
Before reaching a decision, Pearce sensed something special was brewing at the Knights after his first
visit to the club, even calling his father Balmain legend Wayne Pearce to tell him so.
That special feeling continued this morning for Pearce, who met the squad and

The Allocation Of School Funds
Allocation of School Funds The case study involves the allocation of school funds to employ three,
possibly six, new personnel to assist a high school as it continues to grow as part of a recruitment
effort. Being a fine arts magnet program, the school s departments have varying needs and requests for
the new positions. Specifically speaking, the fine arts department insists on adding a staff member, the
science department needs a physics instructor, the music department wants to add an experienced
strings professional, the English department has two members on the verge of retirement, and the
athletic director requests two more coaches or he will resign. (Ubben, Hughes Norris, 2011, p. 374)
The principal must employ strategies that will aid in the overall decision making process and prepare
for the implementation of the new positions while providing a solid recommendation to the district
central office all within a three week time frame. As described in the Rational Decision Making: Steps
in Systematic Problem Solving, Figure 3.1, the first step in making a rational decision is to define the
problem (Ubben, Hughes Norris, 2011, p. 48). In this case, we know this involves how the school
budget should be allocated to decide who and how many positions to create for the upcoming school
year. With the problem clearly defined, the principal must next analyze the problem. The first step
would include analyzing the current budget allocation to accurately determine

Essay on Relevancy of the Voting Rights Act in Modern Times
Ratified in 1868, the fourteenth amendment guarantees equal protection of all persons under the law.
In the 1960 s though, African Americans were still being discriminated against because of the color of
their skin. After the broadcast of 600 peaceful African Americans being attacked and beaten after
attempting to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, President Lynden Johnson decided
it was time to create some legislation to prevent incidences such as this from happening in the future.
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 have been hailed as some of the most
far reaching bills on civil rights in modern times (Schmidt et. al. 2010, 98). At that time in history,

One turning point in the campaign was when African American students gathered in Kelly Ingram
Park to walk across the park. Hoses and dogs were let loose on the crowd, and the media captured it.
After the pictures and news stories were published, many people s opinions on the campaign swayed.
The second event that prompted Kennedy to move forward with the civil rights act was George
Wallace s refusal to integrate the University of Alabama. Then Governor of Alabama, he stood outside
the University, refusing to let two African American students inside until the National Guard was sent
in. Feeling as though something needed to be done, Kennedy stepped in. The day the Senate passed
the Civil Rights Act bill, it was on the front page of the New York Times. The bill had been passed by
a vote 73 to 27, with 46 Democrats and 27 Republicans voting for it, and 21 Democrats and 6
Republicans voting against it. Although it had not yet passed the House, the chairman and ranking
minority member of the House Judiciary Committee said that they would accept the Senate version of
the bill which With the support of these two men, who were responsible for the House bill, acceptance
of the Senate bill in the House is assured (Kenworthy). The bill did pass the house, and Lyndon B.
Johnson signed the bill into law on July 2, 1964. This bill forbade discrimination on the basis of race,

Currency Act Of 1764 Essay
The central pillar of the British economy during its colonial period was its extensive trading power.
Any threat to this power would have to be remedied sooner than later. For this exact reason the
Currency Act of 1764 was birthed. In spirit the Currency Act of 1764 was intended for the betterment
of British commerce. However, in actuality the Currency Act of 1764 had a negative impact on the
lives of British colonial residents. To understand the reason, and perhaps necessity, for the conception
of the Currency act of 1764, one must have a grasp of the economic situation in the American colonies
prior to 1764. The currency used in the American colonies has always revolved around, specie or the
two types of paper currency, legislatively issued legal tender or land bank notes (Finkelstein 39).
Foreign specie was far more common than British specie, due to an export prohibition of British
specie and an unfavorable balance of trade between the American colonies and Britain that drained

local economy. All these factors combined with the complaints of British merchants to the Board of

Comparison Of Dystopias And The New Harmony Society
Utopias and dystopias are two complete opposite societies. A utopia is defined as any real or
imaginary society, place, or state that are considered to be perfect or ideal ( Utopia ). Everyone has a
different idea of what a perfect world would be. This makes creating a utopia for everyone very
difficult. One person s utopia may be a dystopia for another. Dystopias are defined as a society
characterized by human misery, as squalor, oppression, disease, and overcrowding ( Dystopia ). Both
Oceania and the New Harmony Society started out with the intention of being a utopia; over time,
these two societies changed into dystopias for more than one reason.

Both Oceania and New Harmony considered themselves to be a utopia. George Rapp founded a

of Wireless Sensor Network routing protocols. A wireless sensor network (WSN) consists of spatially
distributed autonomous sensors to monitor physical or environmental conditions and to cooperatively
pass their data through the network to a main location. Routing in
WSNs is very challenging due to the inherent characteristics that distinguish these networks from
other wireless networks like mobile ad hoc networks or cellular networks. Due to the relatively large
number of sensor nodes, it is not possible to build a global addressing scheme for the deployment of a
large number of sensor nodes as the overhead of ID maintenance is high. Thus they require careful
resource management. This paper describes various routing protocols and their comparison and
working of LEACH protocol and enhanced LEACH protocol. Keywords Wireless Sensor Networks
(WSN), Sensor Nodes,
LEACH, Enhanced LEACH Base Station (BS) Cluster Head (CH).

Portia And Calpurnia In Julius Caesar
Portia and Calpurnia in the play Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare were the wives of Brutus and
Caesar. They had many more privileges at that time than most women because they were the wives of
great noble Romans, and of course Calpurnia was the wife of the leader Julius Caesar. Since Brutus
wife, Portia, was the daughter of the successful leader Cato, she was a very powerful Roman. But,
they still were treated far from equals of their superior, their husbands. As wives of these specific
Romans, they were treated with much higher respect than most women were at that time. Portia as an
individual was described as pure in nature, youthful, and very beautiful. I believe that she took being a
Roman woman to be quite difficult, and felt very underappreciated because of it. She wanted to show
Brutus that she was worthy of his trust and to prove her worth to him, she cut open her thigh. She
expresses her feelings of being his wife and a Roman women at that time in part of her monologue;
Therefore fear not, but tell me all you are concealing from me, for neither fire, nor lashes, nor goads
will force me to divulge a word; I was not born to that extent a woman. Hence, if you still distrust me,
it is better for me to die than to live; otherwise let no one think me longer the daughter of Cato or your
wife. All in all, she felt that she was less of a person, although being the daughter of Cato and the wife
of Brutus, she still did not feel as though she would ever be able to

Essay on Ernest Hemingway s For Whom the Bell Tolls
In Hemingway s For Whom the Bell Tolls, the recurring images of the horse and the airplane illustrate
one of the major themes of the novel. The novel s predominant theme is the disintegration of the
chivalric order of the Old Spanish World, as it is being replaced by the newer technology and ideology
of the modern world. As a consummate artist, Hemingway, in a manner illustrating the gothic quality
of his work, allows the bigger themes of For Whom the Bell Tolls to be echoed in the smaller units.
He employs the tropes of the horse and the airplane to convey these larger themes, while at the same
time using them to comment upon the complex relationship that exists between the Spaniards Fascists
and Communists, alike and religion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They have abandoned religion, as they have become disillusioned by it, and, therefore, have no
mechanism for atonement. Stemming from their close attachment to the chivalric ideal of equality in
battles, the Spanish have absolutely no conception of modern warfare, until the planes begin invading
their land. They view war as a match of equals, wherein a lone soldier can look his enemy in the eye
as they battle, but, instead, they are forced to come to grips with the horrors of modern warfare.
The planes are representative of the modern mechanical accomplishments that have emerged, which
can replace the chivalric, soldier of the Old World. With the emergence of such technologies, and the
influx of new ideologies, not only has the religion, once integral to chivalry, become obsolete, but the
people, too, have become dispensable. Gone forever is the almost sacred element of one on one
battles; the planes have eradicated these chivalric ideals, by replacing them with a brand of never
before seen mass destruction. In effect, the new ideologies have become the new religion; they have
replaced the Church, just as the new mechanisms, such as planes, and mass warfare have replaced the
chivalric ideals of the medieval world.
The meaning of the horse and airplane images can be illuminated through an exploration of Chapter
27, which conveys, without a doubt, their significance. One of the very first

Belonging
Belonging is the relationship between an individual and his society, idealistically of one being in
harmony with their surrounding peers and therefore becoming accepted no matter what attributes they
possess. Belonging is an intrinsic need, it is a complex and variable state and in the end brings some
form of happiness to an individual. The film, Strictly Ballroom , produced by Baz Luhrman, focuses
upon the individual Scott who possesses the skills to win but defies the rules of the ballroom world by
adding unauthorised steps and by challenging the status quo. Similarly, The short story, A Straight Bat

towards Timothy, who is attempting to develop his own identity. Timothy s disapproval and rejection
of the bat is highlighted in the short, sharp sentences and the negative connotations of the words stared
, hard and heavy in the quote, Timothy stared hard at the cricket bat. It looked heavy . The negative
description of the bat illustrates his objection towards the interest and values in which his father
expects him to abide by. This reinforces the negativity that a sense of individuality can be removed
and affected by the expectations of belonging imposed by those around us.
The negative conformist nature to conform is represented through the use of the bat , symbolising the
need to conform in order to feel accepted. The metaphor quoted within George s quote, Everyone must
have his own bat , emphasises that each person must follow their own path in order to develop their
own identity. We realise that complying by the expectations of society is the first step to acquiring
acceptance. The destroying of the violin, represents Timothy s individuality and the ability to grow, is
halted and depleted as the expectations of his father to play cricket, is of more priority to his son s
desire. Roger Holt s use of this, just like Strictly Ballroom , reinforces the effect of the negativity of
the forcefulness to conform by the

This is significant because they all died within 1 month. The investigation into the cause showed that
the surgery instruments were not sterilized using the adequate and ideal method. Therefore, staff
nurses in cardiac surgery departments need nursing knowledge so that they can provide safe care that

cognitive disorders. Also, little research exists on the narrative discourse performance in individuals
with cognitive disorders on different narrative types. However, the literature indicates that individuals

between two sentences or ideas (Langer Smith Burke, 1982). Only cohesive ties in which the referent

material possession raises Akaky s status and opens a world of new opportunities to him. However,
Akaky is given this taste of status an in a way it begins to corrupt him. The overcoat becomes the most
important thing in his life and he becomes obsessed with it. He even makes the comparison of the coat
to having a wife, from then on it was as if his very existence became somehow full, as if he were
married, as if some other perosn were there with him, as if her were not alone... (406). Once he

The Australian Government developed a national nutrition policy in 2012 2013 to encourage citizens
to lead healthy lives and reduce nutrition related diseases (National Health and Medical Research
Council [NHMRC], 2013) such as obesity, diabetes and coronary heart disease. Good nutrition
equates to a healthy life, a study into the global burden of disease reported that 15% of global disease
was caused by lack of nutrition, in Australia in 2003, 2.1% of the burden of disease was attributed to
lack of consumption of fruit and vegetable (NHMRC, 2013). The Australian dietary guidelines states,
evidence shows that a diet high in nutritional quality consistent with national dietary guidelines
reduces the risk of death and disease (NHMRC, 2013). Nutrition is such an important aspect of our
lives that it is now taught in our schools and forms part of most educational policies such as the
Melbourne Declaration, National Quality Standards and also in the Australian Curriculum. The
Melbourne Declaration states that it is important all students develop a sense of self awareness and
self worth that allows them to make decisions in relation to their physical well being and are provided
with knowledge and understanding that allows them to establish and maintain healthy lives
(MEECYA, 2009), providing students with information in relation to the importance of nutrition will
ensure these goals are met. Vince Whitman (2001, cited in Sorhaindo Feinstein 2006 ) stated at the
1990 World Conference on Education for All: Meeting Basic Learning Needs, that in order to learn
effectively children need good health . Nutrition is an important factor in the development both
physically mentally and behaviourally for school aged children, figure 1 below outlines the
relationship between nutrition and

  • 2. Mars Flight JJ slipped in and out of consciousness, struggling to think straight, his mind racing as he reflected back on his monumental journey. People say your life flashes before your eyes as you re dying, but what was JJ seeing? As he kept spiralling out of control, his memory flashed back to the beginning of this risky journey... Day 0: Pre launch; Earth The moment humans have been waiting for for decades is finally here. The first manned flight to the planet Mars, the furthest terrestrial planet from the Sun. After a century of only dreaming, it has finally become a reality. So many years of planning went into making this first launch possible. Mars orbit is the most eccentric of any planet in the Solar System. At it s fastest it moves at a speed of 26.50 km/s, slower than the Earth s and at it s point closest to Earth it is 55,700,000 km away [1]. All the calculations to time it just right, all the brainpower of engineers working night and day, all the years of selecting who would be the first man to ever get this close to our planetary neighbor. Such a huge mission required selection of the best team. The most skilled and experienced advisors, scientists, engineers, instrument readers gathered from all over the world to make this dream a successful reality. This was The Team making this mission possible, but who would be the one to actually experience it? After multiple rounds of testing, elimination, and training, a lone astronaut was selected for this monumental mission. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Brian May, born July 19, attended Hampton Grammar School during his adolescence. His parents, Harold and Ruth May, raised him in a middle class, suburban environment and instilled the importance of an education into their beloved only child. He furthered his schooling at Imperial College in London, England where he studied Physics and Mathematics, with a particular focus in Astrophysics. Although his education was of an utmost importance, it was at Imperial that he explored his interest in music. May created the band Smile with singer and bassist Tim Staffell and drummer Rodger Taylor in early 1968. Their time was short as the band only recorded a total of six songs in their two year run. Recognizing Smile s inevitably unsuccessful future, the band parted ways. It is almost like a game to see how many obstacles women can overcome; each obstacle yet another generalised representation of women in literature and film. Ironically, this is perceived through the exaggerated emotive language of having them replaced by a direst cruelty . Lady Macbeth pleads, make thick my blood, stop up the passage to remorse , conveying that if her blood was made thicker the blood flow throughout her body would slow down and natural human functions would shut down. Metaphorically she wants the flow of remorse and pity to be cut off, and to be unhuman. Furthermore, she pleads that her breast milk is turned to bile. A woman s breasts have the natural function to feed, and is a source of life for a growing baby, while bile is a bitter, foul green coloured substance made in the liver which provides no nourishment. Allegorically, this links back to Lady Macbeth s reversal of nature and challenge of gender expectations. Shakespeare cleverly weaves this allegory through the play to symbolise a warning to Lady Macbeth and or women of the 17th century, for what will happen if they rebel and challenge societal expectations. Consequently, Macbeth gains in murderous masculinity, ordering killing after killing, while Lady Macbeth lapses back into the feminine helplessness she had earlier rejected. Madness, curiously, forces her back into the stereotypical femininity that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We will using python and nltk to recognize keywords and subsequently using hierarchical clustering algorithm. This method can be used to build news aggregation backends. Aggregation means clustering like documents from different sources. There is fast moving data and heterogeneity of sources in news aggregation scenarios. We need to remove the duplicates arising due to heterogeneous sources. General Terms Hierarchical clustering, algorithms, aggregation, news, text mining et al. Keywords Python, nltk, feedparser, news aggregation. 1. INTRODUCTION News Aggregators can be considered a multilateral platform of interconnection [1]. In principle, news aggregators can be a substitute or a complement to the news outlets who invest in the creation of news stories. A policy debate centers around the decrease in the incentives for news creation that results if readers choose to consume their news through aggregators without clicking through to the news websites or generating any revenue for the outlets [2]. The war s impact in Australia, in terms of food, was generally its increase in price by 32% between 1914 and 1918, which was very low compared to other European countries, where there was also rationing, because of food shortages. This upper atmosphere and the magnetic field form a coupled system with the Sun and the geospace. This coupled system and their interaction with each other is studied under the Sun Earth Connection program.[4] The Sun is a hot ball of gas made of hydrogen. Most of its gas is in the fourth state of matter known as plasma, where the gas heats up to the point where atoms break up into plasma. The Sun s plasma is so hot that it escapes the Sun s gravitational field. This escape of plasma from the Sun is also known as Coronal Mass Ejection or CME. The escaped plasma forms the solar wind which blows out of the Sun and travels across the solar system with a speed of 500 Km/s, interacting with the planets magnetic field and atmosphere. These interactions result in the change of the planets, or in our case, the Earth s magnetic field from the dipole magnetic field to a plasma swept magnetosphere. The interactions also produce current to flow through the Earth s upper atmosphere and the magnetosphere causing neon light like effect resulting in the formation of aurora.[5]The Sun s atmosphere also results in other effects such as prominences and solar flare. The solar flares eject high energy particles and gases which are about 13 million oC. These solar flares also cause strong space weather changes by producing a stream of highly energetic particles which impacts Earths magnetosphere.[6] Thus, these solar winds and solar flares are an ... Parallel Support Vector Machine Junfeng Wu Junming Chen May 6, 2016 1 INTRODUCTION Support vector machines is a supervised machine learning alogrithom used for classification. The problem could be written : minimize 1 |w |2 2 yi((w,xi)+b)−1≥0 where w is a linear combination of the training data: n w = αi k(xi ) i=1 this could be further written in a dual form[5]: min 1αTQα−eTα α2 0≤αi ≤C, yTα=0, ∀i ≤n where Q is the kernel matrix. This dual form is a quadratic programming problem with linear constraints. A solver to this problem like SMO or IPM reuquires a time complexity of O(n3) and space complexity of O(n2), which makes SVM hard to scale. In our final project we implemented two parallel quadratic programming solvers for SVM and implemented a matrix factorization algorithm to improve the performance. Later we evaluated our implementation. 1 i =1,...,l, 2 SMO SOLVER IN PARALLEL SMO is one of the most common ways to solve quadratic programming problem. SMO is a iterative alogrithm. Marketing, Web Design And Web Development Kira Godwin CST 300 September 23, 2014 Marketing, Web Design and Web Development Web design is a blend of creativity and technicality, or graphic design and web development. As a result of this blend the industry s necessary skills, necessary education, and job offerings can be variable. Individuals interested in this industry should attempt to vary their skill sets as much as possible. Companies such as a Forix, combine marketing, design and technical skills to customize their products. Additionally, individuals should expect to discover that some careers will rely more heavily on technical skills, while other careers rely more heavily on design skills. The web design and development industry are relatively new. This modern industry was built off of the inventions of 1974, when computer researchers invented the internet protocol suite (TCP/IP). TCP/IP is somewhat like human communication: when we speak to each other, the rules of grammar provide structure to language and ensure that we can understand each other and exchange ideas. Similarly, TCP/IP provides the rules of communication that ensure interconnected devices understand each other so that they can send information back and forth. (Google Chrome Team, 2010, pg. 5). People believe that the split between Protestantism and Roman Catholicism began in 1517, when ( Ramm) Martin Luther published his ninety five Theses. Sickened by the corruption of the Roman Catholic Church, Luther thought that the ideals of Christianity were being ignored. He believed that the Catholic Church saw Christianity as more of a business. The activities in the Roman Catholic Church mirrored his thoughts as they sold spots in heaven through parties, and had pastors forgive people for their sins if offered money. Luther said that everyone should read the bible and appreciate the religion for what it was meant to be. He daringly began spreading his ideas of Christianity to the world. He wrote his own idea that spoke of what he believed the religion should and posted them on the church walls itself. The message he spread was embraced by those who saw the misdoing of the church and other that read the bible and understood its importance. Of Course there were difficulties with the message he was trying to spread. The church and especially the bibles were almost all in Latin and it made it difficult for the masses to have access to these tools, even if they had access to a bible most could not read the old Latin it was written in However, luckily or by faith the printing press, an invention from China spread to Europe and soon the bible was accessible and readable. I ve got high hopes for this season, I really believe that we can push a lot of teams this year; the sky is the limit with this group. Among that group of young players is Brock Lamb, who broke out last year as a rising star punching above his weight in terms of responsibility for a 20 year old. He shouldered that responsibility incredibly well, but his future at the club is uncertain with the addition of Pearce and Watson, as well as current halfback Trent Hodkinson. In a situation that seems identical to Cronk wanting Pearce to stay at the Roosters, the latter hopes to play alongside Lamb in Knights colours next year. I d love Brock to stay, before I came here I was a big fan of the way he played, Pearce said. For a 20 year old the way he played in a team that was down the bottom of the ladder was a real standout. He s got a massive future and is a local junior so I d love to form some sort of combination there. Before reaching a decision, Pearce sensed something special was brewing at the Knights after his first visit to the club, even calling his father Balmain legend Wayne Pearce to tell him so.

Being a fine arts magnet program, the school s departments have varying needs and requests for the new positions. Specifically speaking, the fine arts department insists on adding a staff member, the science department needs a physics instructor, the music department wants to add an experienced strings professional, the English department has two members on the verge of retirement, and the athletic director requests two more coaches or he will resign. As described in the Rational Decision Making: Steps in Systematic Problem Solving, Figure 3.1, the first step in making a rational decision is to define the problem (Ubben, Hughes Norris, 2011, p. 48). • 26. Currency Act Of 1764 Essay The central pillar of the British economy during its colonial period was its extensive trading power. Any threat to this power would have to be remedied sooner than later. For this exact reason the Currency Act of 1764 was birthed. In spirit the Currency Act of 1764 was intended for the betterment of British commerce. However, in actuality the Currency Act of 1764 had a negative impact on the lives of British colonial residents. To understand the reason, and perhaps necessity, for the conception of the Currency act of 1764, one must have a grasp of the economic situation in the American colonies prior to 1764. The currency used in the American colonies has always revolved around, specie or the two types of paper currency, legislatively issued legal tender or land bank notes (Finkelstein 39). A wireless sensor network (WSN) consists of spatially distributed autonomous sensors to monitor physical or environmental conditions and to cooperatively pass their data through the network to a main location. Routing in WSNs is very challenging due to the inherent characteristics that distinguish these networks from other wireless networks like mobile ad hoc networks or cellular networks. Due to the relatively large number of sensor nodes, it is not possible to build a global addressing scheme for the deployment of a large number of sensor nodes as the overhead of ID maintenance is high. Thus they require careful resource management. This paper describes various routing protocols and their comparison and working of LEACH protocol and enhanced LEACH protocol. They had many more privileges at that time than most women because they were the wives of great noble Romans, and of course Calpurnia was the wife of the leader Julius Caesar. Since Brutus wife, Portia, was the daughter of the successful leader Cato, she was a very powerful Roman. But, they still were treated far from equals of their superior, their husbands. As wives of these specific Romans, they were treated with much higher respect than most women were at that time. Portia as an individual was described as pure in nature, youthful, and very beautiful. I believe that she took being a Roman woman to be quite difficult, and felt very underappreciated because of it. She wanted to show Brutus that she was worthy of his trust and to prove her worth to him, she cut open her thigh. She expresses her feelings of being his wife and a Roman women at that time in part of her monologue; Therefore fear not, but tell me all you are concealing from me, for neither fire, nor lashes, nor goads will force me to divulge a word; I was not born to that extent a woman. Hence, if you still distrust me, it is better for me to die than to live; otherwise let no one think me longer the daughter of Cato or your wife. The novel s predominant theme is the disintegration of the chivalric order of the Old Spanish World, as it is being replaced by the newer technology and ideology of the modern world. As a consummate artist, Hemingway, in a manner illustrating the gothic quality of his work, allows the bigger themes of For Whom the Bell Tolls to be echoed in the smaller units. He employs the tropes of the horse and the airplane to convey these larger themes, while at the same time using them to comment upon the complex relationship that exists between the Spaniards Fascists and Communists, alike and religion. ... Stemming from their close attachment to the chivalric ideal of equality in battles, the Spanish have absolutely no conception of modern warfare, until the planes begin invading their land. They view war as a match of equals, wherein a lone soldier can look his enemy in the eye as they battle, but, instead, they are forced to come to grips with the horrors of modern warfare. The planes are representative of the modern mechanical accomplishments that have emerged, which can replace the chivalric, soldier of the Old World. With the emergence of such technologies, and the influx of new ideologies, not only has the religion, once integral to chivalry, become obsolete, but the people, too, have become dispensable. Gone forever is the almost sacred element of one on one battles; the planes have eradicated these chivalric ideals, by replacing them with a brand of never before seen mass destruction. In effect, the new ideologies have become the new religion; they have replaced the Church, just as the new mechanisms, such as planes, and mass warfare have replaced the chivalric ideals of the medieval world. The meaning of the horse and airplane images can be illuminated through an exploration of Chapter 27, which conveys, without a doubt, their significance. One of the very first ...
