As Americans, we are granted rights in this country and these rights, according to the Declaration
of Independence, grant us Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness . So tell me why someone
that is terminally ill cannot use these rights to end their life of pain and suffering. Some states
have rallied and given those who are terminally ill the right to die. However, some simply see this
means of ending a life, inhumane, unethical, immoral, and just plain wrong. As a citizen of the
United States where we simply have our rights, should we not be granted the right to die? A big
controversy on the news in the United States is having the right to die. People see this as something
wrong due to various cultural and religious beliefs. This means of having the right to die is simply
termed assisted suicide or human euthanasia. Only a few states have legalized assisted suicide by
means of the Deathwith Dignity Act. The four states that assisted suicide is legal in is: California,
Oregon, Vermont, and Washington. However, in order to take act in assisted suicide there are

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in gender portrayal in children s
television commercials. The hypothesis that stated, if an observed television program is
determined to be intended for girls, then the colors used in the commercials would be
predominantly intended for girls, is strongly supported. To do content analysis, we first gathered a
sample of 50 television commercials aired on children s television channels between 8 to 10
PMпјЊ then we coded each of the predictor and criterion variables and conducted a chi square test.
Our results indicate that most girl oriented television programs presented commercials that
incorporated girl stereotypical colors. Furthermore, girls are often associated with bright and pastel
colors while boys are associated more with neutral colors.

Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the
foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve

the sleeping giant that was America and forced America to form into a great country again. Events
in the 2000 s such as the signing of Bush Doctrine, creation of homeland security, Google, the

launched, all helped improve our country. Between politics, american values, foreign affairs
/conflicts, popular culture, the economy, and technology/ innovation all make this century worth
studying.
Politics is something that has been around since the start of times and usually is the talk of the
town. During the 2000 s there were three presidential elections the first one took place in 2000. The
Republican candidate was George W. Bushand the Democratic candidate was Al Gore. This race
was extremely close. The final state, Florida, which was the deciding factor, was so close there
was a recount. This became so big it went to the supreme court, Bush vs. Gore. But in the end
George W. Bush won with only 5 more electoral votes than Al Gore. This marked the fourth
election in U.S. history in which the eventual winner failed to win at least a plurality of the popular

The prescription filling process of the health maintenance organization (HMO) consists of the
doctor sending the prescription to the pharmacy via paper with the patient, paper to the nurse who
calls in the prescription with instructions, or faxing the prescription to the pharmacy. From there,
the personnel at the pharmacy fill the prescription by inputting the information given to them into
their computer in order to print the instructions and medication labels for the prescriptions. They

Handwriting has always been, and will remain, a problem in medicine. A 1979 study showed that it
was difficult to interpret about half of all physicians handwritten orders. Little has changed since
then, (In the long run, penmanship classes for doctors won t do much for patient safety, 2001).
This has been an ongoing problem since inception. Therefore, the beginning of the process should
be changed in this day and age of technology to have prescriptions entered into computers and
handheld devices by the doctor, to ensure accuracy of the medication that is needed to be filled,
and electronically sent to the pharmacy. Having a nurse call in prescriptions is a non value added
activity that can be eliminated. This may be expensive at the start to implement, but in the long
term, it will save both organizations time, help reduce errors, and add value to the level of service
the organization gives. With this change, label errors should also be reduced as well, ensuring the
patient receives the correct medicine and dosage.
After implementing the technological advancements, the pharmacy will be required to keep a log
of all medications brought back or called saying that they are the wrong medicine. These logs will
be collected monthly to measure the amount of prescriptions filled wrong to determine if the
changes are working.
