Abstract
Due to rapid urbanization and uncontrolled growth rate of population, solid waste management has
become acute in India. The current practices of the uncontrolled dumping of waste on the outskirts of
towns/cities have created a serious environmental and public health problem. Plastic waste which is
biggest problem in waste management is recycled in India in an unorganized way. 60% of the plastic
waste collected and segregated gets recycled back into materials for further processing into consumer
products, while the balance is left unutilized. The focus of the conference is to evaluate the present ...

Incineration with or without energy recovery can also be used for processing wastes in specific cases.

Municipal authority or the operator of a facility wishing to use other state of the art technologies shall
approach the Central Pollution Control Board to get the standards laid down before applying for grant
of authorization.
Disposal of municipal solid wastes
Land filling shall be restricted to non biodegradable, inert waste and other waste that are not suitable
either for recycling or for biological processing. Land filling shall also be carried out for residues of
waste processing facilities as well as pre processing rejects from waste processing facilities. Land
filling of mixed waste shall be avoided unless the same is found unsuitable for waste processing.
Under unavoidable circumstances or till installation of alternate facilities, land filling shall be done
following proper norms.
Managing Non biodegradable solid waste (NBDSW)
Non biodegradable solid waste (NBDSW) or refuse is a carpet word. It covers a variety of materials
ranging from asbestos to Zinc batteries. Polythene and its related compounds are the most commonly
found solid waste materials in urban environs. Many non biodegradable solid waste materials are
known to cause considerable environmental hazards when released into land, water and atmosphere.

The Leadership Of A Volunteer Adult Leader
1. You are the new Leading Petty Officer , a phrase uttered to me by a volunteer adult leader as a 15
year old Naval Sea Cadet following the division s tragic loss of two petty officers, in what the media
dubbed as the Hail Mary Murder (reference a). A year into my experience as a Sea Cadet, when the
senior youth leader died at the hands of another cadet petty officer. A third senior cadet, who s
relationship was close to the other two, dropped out of the program as he couldn t bear the trauma of
coming back to the division. That left me next in the cadet chain of command. At 15 years old, this
unfortunate event put me in charge of about 20 other teenagers, all reeling from the loss of our friends
and youth leaders. To say nothing of the fact that getting a new role in this manner is terrible, it
happened, and together we needed to help the unit recover and move on with our teenaged lives.
2. The moments that shaped my lens through which leadership is pulled into focus are plentiful and
occurred over time. The first, shared above, was being thrust into a leadership role, completely
unprepared for the job. The next was my becoming a Coast Guard (CG) Boat Coxswain. This is a
matter of great responsibility; CG asset, CG people, CG mission, all the responsibility of the
coxswain. Amazingly, my coxswain certification was complete simultaneously with my undergraduate
graduation. Consequently, becoming a teacher of science as a civilian job was the next leadership

Freedom Of Religious Freedom
Freedom of religion When we say freedom of religion what is that exactly means? The First
Amendment describe the right of religion like this, everyone in the United States can practice to any
religion or not practice a religion. (Your Right to Religious Freedom) In the united states, there is no
an official religion and the government do not give any support for any religion institution because of
the government want to encourage and promoting religion in any ways. In addition to that, nobody can
penalize any citizen because of their religious beliefs. It s always best to keep the government out of
religion to protect religion liberty. The three United States founders were different religious
backgrounds. As most of us know the public schools are run by the government and they obey the
First Amendment. When any public education institution teach about the impacts of religion in
literature, history and philosophy they can t indorse religious beliefs or practices as part of the
catalogue. In the United States no one can prayer, theological reading and loudspeaker spiritual breach
in any public area that runs by government because they promote religion and this is protected by the
First Amendment, but when we say this we it s not including individuals. Individual have the right to
practice their religion, pray when and where ever they want to, as long as they don t interrupt other
people or activities for example, by forcing others to pray with them or practice their religion.

Parody In Medusa
The classical tradition in the medieval times has an articulate work of art should stand by itself
without the need of interpretation. As one literally scholar would state, the classical era states that
interpretation is ambiguous, and does not always prevail . Yet, now in our society, art s interpretation
can be one or all: a parody, an abstract, a pastiche, or non art. Pain and suffering constituted things
with which for him to identify. His own family had made a grueling transition from the war and
turmoil ravaged areas of Prussia (now Czech) Although many of his works have become instantly
recognizeable, famous in their own right, the distinct themes of the classical tradition s work have no
direct meaning. The classical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Gericault referenced a tragic, contemporary event in The Raft of Medusa from 1819, The classical
tradition referenced events at the very time they occurred (see 127 Die in Jet , Tunafish Disaster ) . For
him, the borderline between simulated time and actual time was blurry and often nonexistent. Whether
events, people and things were real or not became debatable However flip and casual his observations
may have been, their credence (in this light) cannot be denied. The act of parody had very nearly
become his denouemont, an all too shocking reality, as well as History. As such, The classical tradition
had left his mark for the ages. The term, under this tradition became the rise of the Avant Garde is seen
widely used in the field of visual art and literature. The term derives from the military term, advanced
guard or vanguard and it reflects this movement s role in art history as well. By nature, this movement
was meant to be controversial desiring to challenge the traditional art and the society as a whole. In
the realm of the arts world, works of the Avant Garde carried characteristics which represented
pushing of the boundaries of what is accepted as the norm as well as tearing down the status quo.
Began in 1850 in France, this movement led many artists to initiate works that are experimental,
innovative and unconventional. The three essential features of an

Variations and Characteristics of Mental Retardation Essay...
Mental Retardation is an old fashioned term for people who have problems learning and developing,
but is defined as a disability characterized by significant limitations both in intellectual functioning
and behaviors in expressing conceptual, social and practical skills in approximately one to three
percent of the United States (Sue, Sue, Stanley, 2010). Mental retardation is categorized by the DSM
IV TR as being a genetic disorder usually first diagnosed in infancy, childhood or adolescence, and is
not considered to be a cognitive disorder. The following criteria is required for diagnosis of mental
retardation under the DSM IV TR, Intellectual functioning under the IQ score of 70, concurrent
deficiencies in adaptive behaviors and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These features include a long narrow face with a large head, protruding forehead, large ears, flat feet
and flexible joints (NIH, 2012). Learning is difficult for people with Fragile X Syndrome because the
syndrome affects the ability to think, learn and reason, with problems ranging from mild learning
issues to severe developmental disability (NIH, 2012). Other characteristics include behavioral, social
and emotional problems including anxiety in new situations, problems making eye contact, attention
disorders and aggresive behavior (NIH, 2012). Speech, and language problems also exist with Fragile
X Syndrome, including trouble speaking clearly, stuttering, speech may come later than others their
age, few may never speak. Lastly, many children with Fragile X Syndrome have sensory issues and
can be bothered by bright lights, loud noises, or the way clothing feels on their skin, which can cause
the child to act out (Sue, Sue, Stanley, 2010).
Down Syndrome is a condition caused by the presecnce of an extra chromosome called trisomy 21
(t21), which is a non sex chromosome and results in mental retardation and distinct physical
characteristics (Sue, Sue, Stanley, 2010). Trisomy 21 means that each cell in the body has three copies
of the chromosome 21, instead of the normal 2 copies received, one from each parent (NLM, 2012).
Most cases of Down Syndrome are not hereditary but occur as random events, affecting the genes

The Awakening Of The Dark Corridor
Shattering across the floor, glass shards fly everywhere and the door creaks from no distinct origin, all
common occurrences of the tale tell signs of the supernatural, who haunt by creeping behind the lone
wanderer of the dark corridor. Most do not investigate the source of these sounds; however, as humans
the thirst for discovering the unknown lurks inside. To quench thrillers thirst without actual
confrontation, The Awakening takes viewers into a spaceous, eerie boarding school that used to be a
private mansion. This ghost movie derives from typical characteristics of the subgenre haunted
houses. Unexpected sounds, intense music, and a ghostly monster scare the viewer as this movie plays
out, but the twist is finding out the monster is not the ghost. The Awakening s twist in plot allows the
movie to surpass the layout of a haunted house movie by making the movie more interesting, suprising
to the viewer. To begin, haunted movie s subgenre characters usually come in five types known as the
skeptic, the ghost or spirit, the defender, the instigator, and the outsider. Mr. Malloy, also known as the
defender, asks Florence, a novelist and ghost hunter during the 1920s, into the school because he
wants her to find the ghost and ease the other children s minds. Florence Cathcart, the protagonist and
skeptic, assist the boarding school in finding a mysterious spirit lurking the halls after an attending
student turns up murdered a day after seeing this ghost. The ghost, who is a

Analysis Of The Great Dictator And Alphaville
Movie is a medium to express the ideology of the time. Different movies from different time may
show different central ideas because of the different political and social environment. The social
settings decide the central ideas of the movie and the image shown in the movie. Therefore, social
environment is an important factor to consider when analyzing a movie. This essay uses The Great
Dictator and Alphaville as examples to show how the political and social environment influence the
central ideas of serious movies.
The movie Alphaville tells the audience a story of liberation through the genres of dystopian science
fiction and film noir . The secret agent Lemmy Caution sneaks into Alphaville, a city controlled by
artificial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Indeed, when receiving the invitation from the generals, the action of the Jewish barber is so unnatural
that the audience will burst into laughter. In Alphaville, the factors of black comedy are implicit, but
the audience can still notice some humorous details in this movie. For example, the life of people in
Alphaville is so absurd and ridiculous that can be considered as humorous. The audience can feel the
unnatural in such an unrealistic setting. As for the degree of fun, The Great Dictator more satisfies the
genre of a comedy .
To dig out the central idea of a movie, the audience should pay attention the themes and symbolism
the movies try to portray. The Alphaville shows the audience a dystopian picture. Alphaville is a city
controlled by the A.I. Alpha 60, there is no democracy nor freedom here. When Johnson kills
professor von Braun and destroys Alpha 60, he gives the city a rebirth. This movie presents a
fustigation to the totalitarianism and a yearning for free will. How about The Great Dictator? This
movie presents a similar picture. The Hynkel in this movie is similar to the Alpha 60 in Alphaville.
The speech given by the Jewish barber in the ending of the movie shows a desire for freedom and
democracy. Of course, The Great Dictator shows something more. It advocates for sympathy to the
Jewish group, which suffers misfortune in WWII.
For any serious movie, its image and central idea depend on the time and social environment when

Textbooks Vs Textbooks In Textbooks
Portable technology such as iPads and tablets in the classroom have become such a norm in today s
society, and students and parents are believing that this is a good thing. Are they really considering all
of the effects of technology and how often it is being used? What is it doing to the education in
schools? Chou et al. states that as of 2012, there were over 2000 school districts that have adopted
different types of electronical devices and this amount is growing rapidly (11). According to the
National Center for Educational Statistics, that is about 11,000 schools as of 2000. If this trend
continues, almost all schools will have switched to using technology such as iPads and tablets in the
classroom. Teachers and administrators believe that this technology increase has helped students learn
more effectively, and more importantly, they believe that it is more cost effective than staying with the
hard copy textbooks. Teachers in K 12 schools should continue to use traditional textbooks instead of
replacing them with tablets because of the student s ability to retain more information, have a lesser
chance of being distracted, and the cost effectiveness of staying with textbooks. One important reason
to stay with traditional textbooks is that students retain information more effectively when they read
from print rather than reading from a screen. Naomi Baron, a linguist who has done a lot of research
on the use of social media points to a study that let each student

Rainman Essay
Barry Levinson brings us a Raymond, very moving character in the movie Raymond Babbitt.
Raymond is a grown man that is Autistic. Raymond may be grown up but he lacks certain sociable
skills, making communication very difficult. He has a hard time understanding and answer questions.
Because of Raymond s handicap he is unable to progress into a new person. Raymond s limitations
give the movie boundaries. Levinson uses the idea of not allowing this character to change to affect
the other characters in this story. The character that is most affected is Raymond s brother, Charlie. At
the beginning Charlie is frustrated and short on cash, his father has died and Charlie received no
inheritance, his father had left it all to Charlie s unknown ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to obtain this money Charlie finds it necessary to remove Raymond from the institute that is
taking care of him and in theory use him as leverage to get the money. In order for Charlie to do this
he has to make changes and accommodate for Raymond s needs. Charlie isn t used to Raymond s
requirements, such as watching TV shows are certain times, being asleep by a certain time, seating
odd amounts of food and need for attention to make sure he doesn t get hurt. Charlie starts to get to
know Raymond, and the more he does the more Charlie changes. Charlie completely alters his
lifestyle to provide for Raymond. At the beginning when Charlie is still getting to know Raymond
they to out for breakfast and there is no syrup on the table, and this is not what Raymond is used to.
He always had the syrup on the table before they got the pancakes. Raymond makes a be deal about it
and Charlie tries to tell him that they will bring the syrup with the pancakes but Raymond doesn t like
this and creates and issue about it. Charlie is frustrated by this is doesn t understand. This is another
example of how Charlie is not able to change, he is used the repetition and a set procedure. If Charlie
is going to get along with his brother he is going to have to adapt.
Charlie ends up spending about a week living with Raymond, getting to know him learning his likes
and dislikes, his habits and so on. Every place that they stay, Charlie has

Innovation At Ike The Congruence Model
Innovation at Ikea
The congruence model includes useful components for developing a strategy that identifies and fixes
organizational problems. Santoku, 2013 describe this model as a roadmap for developing strategy
reflective of a competitive environment and considering the role of the company in supporting any
overall execution . The first step in the organizational design is to understand the components: the
environment, the resources, and the history, and how they relate.
For the first input component, environment, we have seen how Ingvar Kamprad, IKEA s founder, used
his environment situation to start his furniture business. His business maneuvers were influenced by
the needs of the residents in his small village. He moved from selling belt buckles to self assembled
tables and remains competitive through simplicity and price bargains for its customers. Essentially,
Kamprad s environment provided new market opportunities.
It is also noted that the success of the firm was influenced by its external environment in such ways:
terrorist threats alarmed many people and they found it essential to renovate their home into a safe
haven, furthermore, lagging economies contributed to a certain thriftiness in redecorating or
renovation. These factors imposed a demand for easily assembled and inexpensive furniture, which
IKEA offers.
Next, resources, which I believe IKEA signifies as important to the organization, because they have a
close corporate culture in place. At this

brother. John owned a computer company which he built into a billion dollar company in a span of
five years. On December 26, 1996, the morning after Christmas Patsy Ramsey the mother of Jon
Benet Ramsey woke up suddenly about five a.m. She begins to walk downstairs headed towards the

We Are All Familiar With Bible Stories And Fairy Tales
We are all familiar with Bible stories and fairy tales. They typically began as verbal stories, passed
down from generation to generation, before they were put down on paper or made into a film. Stories
which use outlandish situations to, ideally, teach the readers how to live as good people. Stories such
as Cinderella, The Three Little Pigs, Snow White, Jonah and the Whale, Noah s Ark, Hansel and
Gretel, and The Adventures of Pinocchio include situations which could not have possibly happened.
These stories may help lull children to sleep but, at the same time, teach morals in a harsh or even
violent manner. Like fairy tales, the Bible was written to teach stories to impressionable minds.
Unlike fairy tales, Bible stories are still read today, they are not only read by children, but by adults
with or without children. Many Christians today will argue that the Bible stories, such as Jonah and
the Whale, Noah s Ark, Adam and Eve, and such, were not written to take literally. If they are correct
in assuming those stories are not literal encounters, then how would someone venturing through the
bible know what to take literally and what to take as the word of God? If the stories of the Bible were
never meant to be accepted as real events, then can they be considered fairy tales? If all stories in the
bible are, in fact, the word of God and meant to be taken literal, then scientists need to re evaluate
almost everything they know about the world and how it works. It is

Perfect Steak Dinner
Cooking the Perfect Steak Dinner
Steak is one of the most popular foods to eat throughout the world. People will celebrate special
gatherings by eating luxurious foods like steak. Nobody wants to eat a poorly cooked steak though.
Learning to properly cook steak is a great way to get a good job in the future or make more friends
because of your good cooking.
First thing you want to do when cooking a steak is to pick out what kind of steak you are going to
cook. Personally, my favorite steak is filet mignon, but choose any steak of your choice. Once the
steak of your choice is picked out, the steak needs to be taken out of the freezer and left out until the
steak is room temperature. Then you can begin prepping the steak.
The next step, which is my favorite part of the process, is preparing the steak for cooking. First thing
you will want to do with steak is make sure that it is room temperature like mentioned previously. The
reasoning for this is because if you do not do this then the steak will not get properly cooked and it
will taste atrocious. I like to take the steak and put cold butter on top of each part of the steak. This is
so that when the butter melts it will make the steak juicier when you bite into it. This gives it more of

butter. Now you just won t have steak to eat. While making your meal you can choose different steak
toppers, such as potatoes or fries. Then you can pick out your favorite sauce. I like A1 steak sauce, but
another common sauce is Worchester sauce. Once you have your meal properly made you can start

A Fluorescent Mirna Sensor For The Study Of Exrna And Drug...
A Fluorescent miRNA Sensor for the Study of exRNA and Drug Delivery
Abstract: Increasing evidence suggests cell to cell communication is possible through extracellular
RNAs (exRNAs). RNA (including mRNA, miRNA, or lincRNA) has, on many accounts, been found
packaged inside extracellular vesicles (EVs) which may traverse through a variety of bodily fluids to
be taken up by a recipient cell. The biological significance of exRNAs is largely unknown. However,
preliminary studies suggest they may play a role in a variety of important biological processes,
including stem cell maintenance, apoptosis, and cancer metastasis. Furthermore, there is much hope in
eventually utilizing EVs as a drug delivery vector to supply damaged tissues with therapeutic RNAs.
Such a system could overcome the immunological challenges associated with viral vectors. Advances
in understanding the biology of exRNA transfer have been hindered by a lack of dynamic methods for
detecting changes in RNA concentration in vivo. Northern blotting, microarray, and PCR based
approaches are invasive, and sometimes lack sensitivity when dealing with small quantities of RNA.
While evidence of their significance is growing, to date no exRNA has been shown to enter and
function in a cell in vivo. To address these issues, I have been working on the development of a sensor
system for detecting exogenous small RNAs. This molecular sensor will exploit the ability of
microRNAs (miRNAs) to bind to, and repress, target

Modern Techniques Like Cloning And Restriction Enzymes
Introduction:
Humans have interfered with organisms throughout the past, present and will still continue to do so in
the future. In January 1995 14 wolves were captured in Canada to be reintroduced in Yellowstone
changing the biodiversity.
The biological traits change as human s interfere with wildlife, it has affected the population and the
reproduction of species (Mary A. Orland, 2014). Modern techniques like cloning and restriction
enzymes allow genetic material to be transferred from one organism to another to exchange genetic
material. This then puts a permanent change in an organism s gene making it an artificial species like
the Belgian Blue, Featherless chickens and the Enviropig. Although making it cheaper and easier to
produce such as making it simple selecting traits and crops utilizing less applications to reproduce,
GMO s allow farmers to receive more product from the organism allowing them to make more money.
Evolution is how one form of life develops into a different form. Evolution is a change in the genetic
composition of a population over geological time*. It helps explain why living organisms such as
animal, human or plant act and look a certain way. An organism s genotype is the set of genes that it
carries*. Phenotype is the observable characteristic which is usually influence by the organisms
genotype and its surrounding environment. Charles Darwin discovered the theory of evolution in 1836
he states that All species of organisms arise and develop

Essay on Tay-Sachs
Tay Sachs
Abstract
Tay Sachs is a disease caused by a mutation to the gene which codes for Hex A. Without Hex A, a cell
cannot degrade GM2 ganglioside into GM3 ganglioside. This results in a build up of ganglioside s in
lysosomes of neurons. The result is varying degrees of mental deterioration. New DNA based
screening is currently being developed to replace the enzyme based screening techniques that have
been used since 1969. This will not only speed up the diagnosis, but also allow for earlier detection of
Tay Sachs by using the parents genotypes.

Should Human Cloning Be Allowed In The USA
My topic was that I researched was Should Human Cloning be Allowed in the USA. I am for this
because it can be a medical breakthrough. I am for it because it can cure many things the people
struggle with every day. For example, I will talk about how people die from cancer and how we can
stop it. And I will also be talking about how cloning can make transplants and saves even more
people. And how human cloning can be bad and how it can affect us in the real world and how it can
affect our supplies on this world.
For example, Simon Smith from the article The Benefits of Human Cloning say, Skin for burn victims,

Creative Self Efficacy
Creative self efficacy, which refers to the employee s beliefs about his/her ability to perform the job
creatively, may relate to company image (Aragón Correa et al., 2007, Wang and Lin, 2012, Gong et

Thirdly, we plan to engage in the outreach of this populated and diverse section of London through
one on one and group discussions and studies of Christ and His Word, developing a strong presence,
relationship, and service in the community, and by showing the city of London the beacon of light the
Stratford congregation is and can continue to be.
The Stratford congregation is a congregation of passionate Christians who have a desire to fulfill the

The Stratford congregation is going to be able to support us with £500 a week, which is roughly $633

the congregation financially is to be completely self supporting in the future. Until that time, we will

Factors Influencing the Prevelence of Addiction Essay
Addiction Everyday we see and hear news articles and reviews that say: I cannot put down Twilight...
it s addicting! or I m a Breaking Bad addict! The way the term addiction is used in the media these
days, many would overlook its actual significance and the trouble it causes for millions across the
globe. Recently, many individuals have referred to addiction as anything that is a compulsive need or
habit forming, which could involve everything from substances, like nicotine or alcohol, to activities
such as reading a compelling book or getting hooked on a popular television series. Unfortunately, the
word has become overused, over diagnosed, and even used as an excuse for one s wrong behavior.

The article s authors counter the Choice Model, explaining that a person cannot choose whether to be
addicted or not. They outline the path leading to addiction by emphasizing the cause as a physical
malfunction in the reward circuitry of the brain. They claim that an addict s abnormalities in his or her
reward system causes the addict to achieve the state of euphoria or high by ingesting substances or
addictive behaviors. In addition, one s compulsive behaviors and substance abuse can hurt the reward
system and result in impaired impulse control and addiction (Matesa and Bickman), so it is a
deleterious cycle. Lastly, the article espouses that the Choice Model is in some way blaming the
individual and is a setup for relapse (Matesa and Bickman). Viewing addiction as a disease, the ASAM
says, will make it easier for addicts to receive help and conquer addiction. Proponents of the Choice
Model disagree, explaining that viewing addiction as a disease is more of a self fulfilling prophecy
than a way to draw help. Alternatively, the Choice Model counters the belief that addiction is a
disease, but rather believes it is all a choice when using substances or taking part in compulsive
behaviors. Educator, ex addict, and researcher Steven Slate first compares the Disease Theory to real
diseases in his blog, Addiction Is Not A Brain Disease, It Is A Choice. Slate comments that: In a true

How Social Media Has Revolutionized The Way People Live
The term social media generally refers to communication technologies and interactive platforms, such
as Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. A further definition is given by Kaplan and Haenlein (2010) who
described it as a group of Internet based applications that allow the creation and exchange of User
Generated Content, and emphasizes that any user of social media can be a content creator and can
distribute to a network of users. In a broad term, social media is the social interaction via online
information and communication technologies
For many recruiters, utilising social media for business has become part of a strategy of human
resource management in hiring process (Madia, 2011). Internet and technology has revolutionised the
way people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2.2.2. Social Media and Employee Voice
However, until recently, most of the organisations s social media strategy of human resource
management put emphasis on recruitment and neglect an important audience within the organisation:
their own people (CIPD, 2013). Social media could be a power tool not only for establishing external
interaction between employers and job seekers, but also for maintaining internal relationships between
employers and employees. Furthermore, technology has blurred the physical boundaries between work
and home and the recent years have seen the development of various type of employment such as
teleworkers or outsourcing (Mustafa and Gold, 2013). For example, employees knowledge,
experience, and talent are often underutilized when a workforce is dispersed over functional areas,
departments, and the globe. Moreover, the multinational corporation in the global community has
increased dramatically which means employees might have a great possibility to work across the
globe. Given the emergence of teleworkers and global workforce, an effective communication system
plays a pivotal role in managing relationship with both traditional and non traditional workers within
organisations. Thus, many businesses have increasingly adopted a virtual approach to workspace

Essay On Deque
A deque object is similar to a stack or a queue and is initialized left to right from an iterable value (or
empty). In case you re wondering, deque is pronounced deck and is short for a double ended queue.
Deques are thread safe and memory efficient. They can be appended, extended or popped from either
side. The performance when performing these operations from one side to the next is roughly the
same. Lists of course are faster since they are immutable but deques are slightly faster than standard
tuples.
If you don t specify a size (using maxlen or the 2nd positional argument of deque()), deques can be as
large as you want them to be. If you do specify a size, you can still use add and delete operations but
when one side is added, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eventually, it will get the last element from the deque of another processor and execute it until all
deques are cleared (though usually with a processor, the work is continuous and more efficient due to
the algorithm).
No worries though, we will just go through some simple examples from the Python interpreter.
The datatype deque comes from the collections package. So we need to import it from there:
from collections import deque
Much like the namedtuple type, we can give it a string and it will be extended into an array like
structure like so:
my_deque = deque( long )
print(type(my_deque))
print(my_deque) deque([ l , o , n , g ])
If we want to add to the right, we can use append() just like you would with a normal tuple:
my_deque.append( d )
We can also add to the left side with appendleft():
my_deque.appendleft( s ) and continue on from there:
my_deque.append( e )
my_deque.appendleft( i )
my_deque.append( q )
my_deque.appendleft( h )
my_deque.append( u )
my_deque.appendleft( t )
my_deque.append( e )
print(my_deque) deque([ t , h , i , s , l , o , n , g , d , e , q , u , e ])
We can also make shallow copies with the copy() method:
deque_copy = my_deque.copy()
print(deque_copy) deque([ t , h , i , s , l , o , n , g , d , e , q , u , e ])
We can then clear them from all elements by using clear():
deque_copy.clear()
print(deque_copy) deque([]) To get a

Herodotus Alvar Nunez Cabeza De Vaca
Egyptians and Indians
(An Analysis of the way the Egyptians lived to the way the Avavares lived)
Herodotus is considered by most to have been the first Greek historian which would make him the
first European historian as well. He wrote many books in his time and History contains Observations
on Egypt. Alvar Nunez Cabeza De Vaca was one of the first Europeans to explore the American
Southwest. He wrote La Relacion that talks mostly of the few months that he spent with the Avavares.
Herodotus talks about the way the Egyptians see different animals, perform different ceremonies, and
De Vaca focuses mainly on the lifestyle of the Avavares.

The Avavares have a lot to do with religion and they base their lifestyle on the healers of the tribe. De
Vaca prayed a lot and that helped with a lot of what they were doing in the tribe. He managed to bring
one man back from the dead . From paragraph 4 of Chapter Twenty two of From La Relacion, I
removed a mat with which he was covered, and as best I could prayed to Our Lord to restore his
health, as well as that of all the others who might be in need of it, and after having made the sign of
the cross and breathed on him many times they brought his bow and presented it to me, and a basket
of ground tunas, and took me to many others who were suffering from vertigo. This is one of the many
examples of how they really respected their healer of the

Personal Privacy or National Security
Personal Privacy or National Security
William Shelton
ENG122: English Composition
Prof. Lisa Clark
August 7, 2012
Defining National Security VS Personal Privacy is a matter of looking at the basic nature of each.
From research collected there is a consensus that we need balance. Too much of one hurts the other
and vise versa. There are a couple of articles that range from Civil Liberties to the birth of public right
to know that support the overall claim. Talks about the effects of censorship in different situations like
war and peace will help prove that a balance needs to be forged. The problem here isn t the definition
of personal vs national security, but the survival of each in light of each other. There is history in our
nation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This kind of action is completely unnecessary and undermines our Fourth Amendment. National
security is the ability to protect our borders through homeland security while upholding the rights of
nation. Privacy when openly tampered with is distorted. Nobody acts the same knowingly being
watched. Information finds another way. There have been studies on lesser issues like workers. There
is more productivity when people think they are being watched. The same when our liberties are at
stake. What are people to do when it s done for the wrong reasons? Like when an African American
see s a sign that separates white and color bathrooms. Another would be when the Jews were forced to
where a star then live separately in their own projects. The US jokes about our nation being like
fraternity. Every new group gets picked on. The Jew s for being good with money. The Mexicans for
being illegal s and now it s the Arab s turn. But Arab s are all terrorist somehow. We have seen terror
before from the Unabomber, the KKK, and columbine shooting. How do we keep up with inflation?
The government finds one way to gather information and terrorist adapt. When civil liberties get
trampled in the process more anti American groups rise to the occasion creating more danger inside
America and out. A different example can be Adolf Hitler as a ruthless dictator and his main success
as a dictator was propaganda. It

Marcus Ulpius Nerva Personality
Marcus Ulpius Nerva Traianus, Trajan for short, was a highly successful Roman general and Emperor
in the early part of the first millennium. He started his career as a successful general, expanding the
Roman Empire. He was later the first Roman Emperor not to be Italian and successfully extended the
Roman Empire to its greatest extent as well as initiated many public building projects, some of which
survived into the present day.
Trajan was born into a non practician family on the 18th of September at Italica near Seville, Spain in
53 CE and he died on the 9th of August in Selinus in Cilicia in 117 CE. His Dad was a senator and a
general. This gave him a start in his political and military career. As a young man, he rose through the

Trajan s main military achievement was that he greatly increased the size and wealth of the Roman
Empire by either Annexing or taking over neighbouring areas. Trajan s biggest campaign was against
the Dacia, a powerful kingdom north of modern Romania. In 101, he launched the first campaign
against the Dacians and their king, Decebalus, who lived in modern day Romania. After defeating the
Decian Army in 102, Trajan returned to Rome, only to fight them again in 105. This time the Dacians
were utterly destroyed and they officially became part of Rome in 106. He also conquered Armenia
and the whole of Mesopotamia. While Trajan was emperor, Rome expanded farther than it ever had,
going all the way from Scotland to the Caspian

You are the new Leading Petty Officer , a phrase uttered to me by a volunteer adult leader as a 15 year old Naval Sea Cadet following the division s tragic loss of two petty officers, in what the media dubbed as the Hail Mary Murder (reference a). A year into my experience as a Sea Cadet, when the senior youth leader died at the hands of another cadet petty officer. A third senior cadet, who s relationship was close to the other two, dropped out of the program as he couldn t bear the trauma of coming back to the division. That left me next in the cadet chain of command. At 15 years old, this unfortunate event put me in charge of about 20 other teenagers, all reeling from the loss of our friends and youth leaders. To say nothing of the fact that getting a new role in this manner is terrible, it happened, and together we needed to help the unit recover and move on with our teenaged lives. 2. The moments that shaped my lens through which leadership is pulled into focus are plentiful and occurred over time. The first, shared above, was being thrust into a leadership role, completely unprepared for the job. The next was my becoming a Coast Guard (CG) Boat Coxswain. This is a matter of great responsibility; CG asset, CG people, CG mission, all the responsibility of the coxswain. • 11. Textbooks Vs Textbooks In Textbooks Portable technology such as iPads and tablets in the classroom have become such a norm in today s society, and students and parents are believing that this is a good thing. Are they really considering all of the effects of technology and how often it is being used? What is it doing to the education in schools? Chou et al. states that as of 2012, there were over 2000 school districts that have adopted different types of electronical devices and this amount is growing rapidly (11). According to the National Center for Educational Statistics, that is about 11,000 schools as of 2000. If this trend continues, almost all schools will have switched to using technology such as iPads and tablets in the classroom. Teachers and administrators believe that this technology increase has helped students learn more effectively, and more importantly, they believe that it is more cost effective than staying with the hard copy textbooks. Teachers in K 12 schools should continue to use traditional textbooks instead of replacing them with tablets because of the student s ability to retain more information, have a lesser chance of being distracted, and the cost effectiveness of staying with textbooks. One important reason to stay with traditional textbooks is that students retain information more effectively when they read from print rather than reading from a screen. Santoku, 2013 describe this model as a roadmap for developing strategy reflective of a competitive environment and considering the role of the company in supporting any overall execution . The first step in the organizational design is to understand the components: the environment, the resources, and the history, and how they relate. For the first input component, environment, we have seen how Ingvar Kamprad, IKEA s founder, used his environment situation to start his furniture business. His business maneuvers were influenced by the needs of the residents in his small village. He moved from selling belt buckles to self assembled tables and remains competitive through simplicity and price bargains for its customers. Essentially, Kamprad s environment provided new market opportunities. It is also noted that the success of the firm was influenced by its external environment in such ways: terrorist threats alarmed many people and they found it essential to renovate their home into a safe haven, furthermore, lagging economies contributed to a certain thriftiness in redecorating or renovation. These factors imposed a demand for easily assembled and inexpensive furniture, which IKEA offers. • 15. We Are All Familiar With Bible Stories And Fairy Tales We are all familiar with Bible stories and fairy tales. They typically began as verbal stories, passed down from generation to generation, before they were put down on paper or made into a film. Stories which use outlandish situations to, ideally, teach the readers how to live as good people. Stories such as Cinderella, The Three Little Pigs, Snow White, Jonah and the Whale, Noah s Ark, Hansel and Gretel, and The Adventures of Pinocchio include situations which could not have possibly happened. These stories may help lull children to sleep but, at the same time, teach morals in a harsh or even violent manner. Like fairy tales, the Bible was written to teach stories to impressionable minds. Unlike fairy tales, Bible stories are still read today, they are not only read by children, but by adults with or without children. Many Christians today will argue that the Bible stories, such as Jonah and the Whale, Noah s Ark, Adam and Eve, and such, were not written to take literally. If they are correct in assuming those stories are not literal encounters, then how would someone venturing through the bible know what to take literally and what to take as the word of God? If the stories of the Bible were never meant to be accepted as real events, then can they be considered fairy tales? If all stories in the bible are, in fact, the word of God and meant to be taken literal, then scientists need to re evaluate almost everything they know about the world and how it works. It is ... First thing you want to do when cooking a steak is to pick out what kind of steak you are going to cook. Personally, my favorite steak is filet mignon, but choose any steak of your choice. Once the steak of your choice is picked out, the steak needs to be taken out of the freezer and left out until the steak is room temperature. Then you can begin prepping the steak. The next step, which is my favorite part of the process, is preparing the steak for cooking. First thing you will want to do with steak is make sure that it is room temperature like mentioned previously. The reasoning for this is because if you do not do this then the steak will not get properly cooked and it will taste atrocious. • 17. A Fluorescent Mirna Sensor For The Study Of Exrna And Drug... A Fluorescent miRNA Sensor for the Study of exRNA and Drug Delivery Abstract: Increasing evidence suggests cell to cell communication is possible through extracellular RNAs (exRNAs). RNA (including mRNA, miRNA, or lincRNA) has, on many accounts, been found packaged inside extracellular vesicles (EVs) which may traverse through a variety of bodily fluids to be taken up by a recipient cell. The biological significance of exRNAs is largely unknown. However, preliminary studies suggest they may play a role in a variety of important biological processes, including stem cell maintenance, apoptosis, and cancer metastasis. Furthermore, there is much hope in eventually utilizing EVs as a drug delivery vector to supply damaged tissues with therapeutic RNAs. Such a system could overcome the immunological challenges associated with viral vectors. Advances in understanding the biology of exRNA transfer have been hindered by a lack of dynamic methods for detecting changes in RNA concentration in vivo. Northern blotting, microarray, and PCR based approaches are invasive, and sometimes lack sensitivity when dealing with small quantities of RNA. While evidence of their significance is growing, to date no exRNA has been shown to enter and function in a cell in vivo. To address these issues, I have been working on the development of a sensor system for detecting exogenous small RNAs. This molecular sensor will exploit the ability of microRNAs (miRNAs) to bind to, and repress, target ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. Modern Techniques Like Cloning And Restriction Enzymes Introduction: Humans have interfered with organisms throughout the past, present and will still continue to do so in the future. In January 1995 14 wolves were captured in Canada to be reintroduced in Yellowstone changing the biodiversity. The biological traits change as human s interfere with wildlife, it has affected the population and the reproduction of species (Mary A. Orland, 2014). Modern techniques like cloning and restriction enzymes allow genetic material to be transferred from one organism to another to exchange genetic material. This then puts a permanent change in an organism s gene making it an artificial species like the Belgian Blue, Featherless chickens and the Enviropig. Although making it cheaper and easier to produce such as making it simple selecting traits and crops utilizing less applications to reproduce, GMO s allow farmers to receive more product from the organism allowing them to make more money. Evolution is how one form of life develops into a different form. Evolution is a change in the genetic composition of a population over geological time*. Social media could be a power tool not only for establishing external interaction between employers and job seekers, but also for maintaining internal relationships between employers and employees. Furthermore, technology has blurred the physical boundaries between work and home and the recent years have seen the development of various type of employment such as teleworkers or outsourcing (Mustafa and Gold, 2013). For example, employees knowledge, experience, and talent are often underutilized when a workforce is dispersed over functional areas, departments, and the globe. Moreover, the multinational corporation in the global community has increased dramatically which means employees might have a great possibility to work across the globe. Given the emergence of teleworkers and global workforce, an effective communication system plays a pivotal role in managing relationship with both traditional and non traditional workers within organisations. Thus, many businesses have increasingly adopted a virtual approach to workspace (Kayworth and Leidner, 2000; ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Essay On Deque A deque object is similar to a stack or a queue and is initialized left to right from an iterable value (or empty). In case you re wondering, deque is pronounced deck and is short for a double ended queue. Deques are thread safe and memory efficient. They can be appended, extended or popped from either side. The performance when performing these operations from one side to the next is roughly the same. Lists of course are faster since they are immutable but deques are slightly faster than standard tuples. If you don t specify a size (using maxlen or the 2nd positional argument of deque()), deques can be as large as you want them to be. If you do specify a size, you can still use add and delete operations but when one side is added, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Eventually, it will get the last element from the deque of another processor and execute it until all deques are cleared (though usually with a processor, the work is continuous and more efficient due to the algorithm). No worries though, we will just go through some simple examples from the Python interpreter. The datatype deque comes from the collections package. So we need to import it from there: from collections import deque Much like the namedtuple type, we can give it a string and it will be extended into an array like structure like so: my_deque = deque( long ) print(type(my_deque)) print(my_deque) deque([ l , o , n , g ]) If we want to add to the right, we can use append() just like you would with a normal tuple: my_deque.append( d ) We can also add to the left side with appendleft(): my_deque.appendleft( s ) and continue on from there: my_deque.append( e ) my_deque.appendleft( i )

  • 46. Herodotus Alvar Nunez Cabeza De Vaca Egyptians and Indians (An Analysis of the way the Egyptians lived to the way the Avavares lived) Herodotus is considered by most to have been the first Greek historian which would make him the first European historian as well. He wrote many books in his time and History contains Observations on Egypt. Alvar Nunez Cabeza De Vaca was one of the first Europeans to explore the American Southwest. He wrote La Relacion that talks mostly of the few months that he spent with the Avavares. Herodotus talks about the way the Egyptians see different animals, perform different ceremonies, and De Vaca focuses mainly on the lifestyle of the Avavares. The Avavares have a lot to do with religion and they base their lifestyle on the healers of the tribe. De Vaca prayed a lot and that helped with a lot of what they were doing in the tribe. He managed to bring one man back from the dead . From paragraph 4 of Chapter Twenty two of From La Relacion, I removed a mat with which he was covered, and as best I could prayed to Our Lord to restore his health, as well as that of all the others who might be in need of it, and after having made the sign of the cross and breathed on him many times they brought his bow and presented it to me, and a basket of ground tunas, and took me to many others who were suffering from vertigo. This is one of the many examples of how they really respected their healer of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Personal Privacy or National Security Personal Privacy or National Security William Shelton ENG122: English Composition Prof. Lisa Clark August 7, 2012 Defining National Security VS Personal Privacy is a matter of looking at the basic nature of each. From research collected there is a consensus that we need balance. Too much of one hurts the other and vise versa. There are a couple of articles that range from Civil Liberties to the birth of public right to know that support the overall claim. Talks about the effects of censorship in different situations like war and peace will help prove that a balance needs to be forged. The problem here isn t the definition of personal vs national security, but the survival of each in light of each other. There is history in our nation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This kind of action is completely unnecessary and undermines our Fourth Amendment. National security is the ability to protect our borders through homeland security while upholding the rights of nation. Privacy when openly tampered with is distorted. Nobody acts the same knowingly being watched. Information finds another way. There have been studies on lesser issues like workers. There is more productivity when people think they are being watched. The same when our liberties are at stake. What are people to do when it s done for the wrong reasons? Like when an African American see s a sign that separates white and color bathrooms. Another would be when the Jews were forced to where a star then live separately in their own projects. The US jokes about our nation being like fraternity. Every new group gets picked on. The Jew s for being good with money. The Mexicans for being illegal s and now it s the Arab s turn. But Arab s are all terrorist somehow. We have seen terror before from the Unabomber, the KKK, and columbine shooting. How do we keep up with inflation? The government finds one way to gather information and terrorist adapt. When civil liberties get trampled in the process more anti American groups rise to the occasion creating more danger inside America and out. A different example can be Adolf Hitler as a ruthless dictator and his main success as a dictator was propaganda. It ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
