Pompeii s Destructive Evening In Pompeii
A loud noise like a gun went off from the volcano exploding as people ran for their lives. This is
probably what one destructive morning in Pompeii looked like in 79 AD. Pompeii is important
because of its destruction, rediscovery, and because it provided information about the ancient world.
Mt. Vesuvius gave Pompeii a warning earthquake in 62 AD (Goor 8). In 79 AD, a loud bang warned
the city that Vesuvius was about to explode (Cartwright par.12). The explosion covered over 200
square miles, including not only Pompeii, but a couple other towns (List25). The eruption lasted about
a day, but the ash, rocks, and pumice blanketed the city for about two days. Pompeii was buried about
twenty feet deep (List25). After the eruption, some people tried to dig to their homes (Goor 13). The
eruption was one day after the festival of the Roman god of fire (List25).
Pompeii was founded in 7th century BC and was at the peak of it s existence. It was even popular for
rich Roman tourists to stay there (List25). Even Nero, a Roman emperor, had one of his summer
houses in Pompeii, and one of his wives was born there (Cartwright 3). After August 24, 79 AD,
Pompeii was forgotten. Soon, grass and flowers covered the city (Etienne 11). After a while, Pompeii
was called Civias or ancient city (Goor 13). Pompeii s name was ... Show more content on

The archeologists didn t care if they smashed holes in the walls with paintings on them (Etienne 16).
As they dug, they put plaster in the gaps that once I hald dead bodies. This way, when they took them
out of the plaster, they can see how the people looked when they died (List25). Soon scholars started
going to Pompeii. It even became a stop on the Grand Tour of Naples (Etienne 16). Pompeii is thought
to be the world s most valuable insight of the Roman world (Cartwright 1). It s even possible to

The Many Uses of the Element Cobalt
The Many Uses of the Element Cobalt There are many elements in the world and one of them is
cobalt. It is a silvery blue metal with a blue coat. It is element number twenty seven on the table which
means that it has twenty seven protons and electrons. One mole or its atomic weight is 58.9 grams. It
has a relatively high melting and boiling point, the melting point being 1,495 degrees Celsius or 2,723
Fahrenheit and the boiling point being 2,927 degrees Celsius or 5,301 Fahrenheit. The top three
countries that mine this element are the District Republic of the Congo, Cuba, and Australia in that
order. Cobalt has had and still has many uses in the world today. Cobalt is an element that has many
uses that include alloys, electronics, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cobalt is used in these fields for many reasons. The main reason though is that cobalt has a high Curie
temperature. A Curie temperature is basically how hot a metal can be heated while maintaining its
magnetism. Cobalt s Curie temp is 1,121 degrees Celsius. Cobalt also has a high magnetic power and
tesla (magnetic density) (Cobalt Facts). Cobalt is also used in various electronics. Cobalt is used
because it has the power to carry and direct currents like other metals. Cobalt is used in circuits and
semi conductors because of this. Cobalt is also used in batteries. Cobalt is used as a powder in
batteries to raise the power while stabilizing the battery at the same time. One of the main visual uses
of cobalt though, is in chemistry. Cobalt has many uses in the aspect of Chemistry. One of the main
uses is a catalyst in petroleum. Specifically, CoMoO4 is used to help change petroleum into gas
(Newton). This chemical removes the sulfur in the oil to make it a useable fuel source. Also cobalt is
used as a catalyst to speed up the resin process when making plastics (Cobalt Facts). Cobalt is also
used to produce bright blue colors in paints (Cobalt Periodic). They are also in many other chemical
dyes and paints and they can help determine how quickly these paints dry which can be very important
to artists (Cobalt Facts). They are also used in dyes for glass, glazes, cosmetics, inks, and pottery

Cameron Jackson Interview
If you re anything like me, there s a sense of accomplishment that comes when you work tenaciously
to bring something about, and once you have achieved what many may have doubted, you can just sit
back and smile. And that is exactly how I feel about my interview with Cameron Mathison. From the
moment I first requested the interview to the moment it happened, it was nearly five months, and there
were times I wondered if my continued petitions were more irritating than anything else and would
even bring my hopes to fruition. I mean, I actually had the audacity to say I was #TeamNorman and
would remain so until I interviewed him! (For the record, that was all a ruse.) Well, as you will see,
dogged determination did bring about extraordinary results, and so I now share with you an interview
with this kind, considerate, talented man who took the time out of his insanely busy schedule to chat
with me. cameron 6RH: I am so glad our interview worked out at last! CM: Everything in my life is

The Influence Of Playing Pokemon Go
Participating in the survey were 193 high school and middle school aged students from a mid sized
southeastern school. Forty four percent of the respondents were male, and 56% were female. Seventy
eight percent of the respondents were between the ages of twelve and fifteen, while 22% of the
respondents were between the ages of sixteen and eighteen. Only about 1 of 10 students (9.8%) said
that when Pokemon Go was popular they played every day. However, roughly 3 in 10 students
(31.6%) answered that when it was popular their friends played every day. The hypothesis stated:
Males play video games significantly more than females. As the results demonstrate, there was a
significant difference between males and females with respect to playing Pokemon Go while it was
popular ( t= 4.507, p .05). More specifically, males played Pokemon Go at a much higher rate (M=
2.00) than females (M=1.38). Although the results were not as strong, there was also a large difference
between males and females with respect to perception of their friends playing (t=2.627, p=.009). The
results of this question show that males believe their peers play much more (M= 2.77) than females
(M= 2.31).

Social Disorganization Theory On Urban Ecology And Burgess...
Social Disorganization
Nicole Hofmann
Criminological Theory University of Tampa Abstract
Social Disorganization theory has its roots in urban ecology and Burgess s concentric model. As part
of the positivist paradigm of criminology, it poses a scientific examination of the connection of social
disorganization and crime mediated by structural factors. The macro level research concludes that a
weakening of social bonds between an individual and institutions of socialization will lead to
delinquency. Over time, there has been much empirical support for the theory and extensions have
been made to include more reliable measures of social disorganization within a community. This paper
will discuss the origins of the theory developed by Shaw and McKay, then move forward to prominent
empirical support, social disorganization research on suburban areas and lead up to valid criticism of
the theory. Finally, there will be an examination of the policy implications originally posed and a
proposal towards a more integrated approach addressing causes for social disorganization through the
critical paradigm of criminology.
Introduction
Social disorganization theory is part of the positivist paradigm of criminology, a scientific approach to
crime causes, and part of the Chicago School of crime. While trait theories under the positivist
approach assume that crime is cause by internal factors, social disorganization theory relies on the
assumption that crime is caused by environmental

1.) In chapter 1, Black women slaves were defined as either a jezebel or mammy . In detail define the
characteristics of a jezebel and mammy . Why were black women defined in these two extreme ways?
By contrast, how were Southern white women characterized? * One of the most standout images of
black women in white slavery America was of a woman who ran entirely off of her sex drive, a
Jezebel. A jezebel was considered to be the complete opposite of a proper white woman. She was
thought to have little to none religious affiliation. A jezebel took no instances to cover her body, and
showed no signs of prudery. The idea that black women were over sexualized first ... Show more

Because of her expertise in all domestic matters, she was the premier house servant and all others
were her subordinates. This, therefore, is the broad outline of Mammy. She was a woman completely
dedicated to the white family, especially to the children of that family. She was the house servant who
was given complete charge of domestic management. She served also as friend and advisor. She was,
in short, a surrogate mistress and mother, giving into the modern day nanny. The Mammy image is
fully as misleading as that of Jezebel. Both images have enough instances in reality to lend credibility
to stereotypes that would profoundly affect black women. For instance, Black women served in all
capacities, from cook to waiting maid, or seamstress. In very wealthy Southern households there were
many female servants. Children grew very attached to Mammy, as she was seen as their primary
caregiver. Being a Mammy was idyllic for a slave women, for they were given better care and the
work wasn t as tasking. Hard as cleaning, cooking, sewing, dairy work, and child care were, they were
not as physically taxing as a sun up to sun down day in the cropbe it sugar, rice, or cotton. On the
whole, house women could expect to eat better, dress better, and get better medical care than field
women, if only because they were more familiar to the master and mistress, not to mention nearer to
the kitchen and potential handmedowns. Still

in shaping his perspective? In the early 1980 s Howard Schultz, became captivated and saw

His belief was that wherever there was a cluster of customers ordering his product it would make good
business sense to establish an outlet somewhere around the cluster. Another of Schultz critical drivers
were the layout and design and fixtures. Schultz had invested time and money to ensure that each
outlet was identical to each other as it forms a part of the experience which he wanted to create for his
business. To achieve this Schultz had hired an architect as his businesses expanded to ensure that the
design was achieved in all his stores. To ensure that this was achieved Schultz would be in attendance
at all locations during the opening and the start up of each outlet. Schultz tried to standardize his
business practices so as to achieve quality in all his outlets. Training of his employees was a critical
driver for Schultz business as he was of the opinion that they should be knowledgeable about the
service product and the service delivery offered to customers. He further believed that without his
employees being knowledgeable about the product and how to offer quality service to customers so
that they will not return. Also, Schultz wanted to educate his customers about the origin of the product
and get them knowledgeable about the product they purchase. Schultz competitors had not included
this activity in their sales strategy, for example Peet s. This he opined

Summary Of Crito By Plato
In Crito by Plato, Socrates faces a difficult dilemma. Socrates has been wrongfully charged of impiety
and corrupting the children and is approached with an offer from his close friend Crito who says he
will help Socrates escape and give him a nice place to live away from Athens where he can flee from a
wrongful execution. Socrates should stay in prison and face his execution in order to prove he is
innocent. Socrates wants to do no wrong at all and comes to the conclusion that escaping would do
more harm than facing a wrongful execution. He feels that escaping would be wronging those who
wronged him which is still doing wrong. The laws have not wronged Socrates but the people of
Athens have. These laws helped him grow into the man he is and he feels he would be doing a
disservice to them by going against what he swore to stay true to. When Crito tells Socrates that
people will see him as a bad friend Socrates replies, But why, my dear Crito, should we care about the
opinion of the many? Good men, and they are the only persons who are worth considering, will think
of these things truly as they happened . Basically, Socrates is explaining that what people think is
irrelevant and that good men will understand Socrates decision and will not think poorly of Crito as
they will see things as they truly happened. If Socrates were to leave he would be breaking his
agreement to obey the laws. Socrates swore an oath to accept the verdict and penalty and if he left
now he would

Introduction
Kidnapping means the forcible and unlawful abduction and conveying away of a man, woman, or
child, from his or her will or consent, and sending such person away, with an intent to deprive him or
her of some right. This is an offence at common law.
Kidnapping is of two kinds kidnapping from India and kidnapping from lawful guardianship.
Whoever conveys any person beyond the limits of India without the consent of that person, or of some
person legally authorized to consent on behalf of that person, is said to kidnap that person from India.
Kidnapping from lawful guardianship. Whoever takes or entices any minor

The Grunge Band In The 90 s
Robert Waldo Emerson once said, The biggest challenge in life is to be yourself in a world that is
trying to make you like everyone else (Emerson). This quote accurately depicts the intention of
creating music for others. In the 90s, the grunge and rap communities would express annoyance
towards how society functioned during this chaotic decade. The United States was undergoing an
economic boom which affected the music world. In terms of political change, the government and
society had disagreements over the scandals and controversial issues being discussed throughout
communities around the country. The 1990s revolutionized the grunge and rap music genre and its
society during that time by creating a sense of rebellion, self expression, a ... Show more content on

Its mixture of punk and heavy metal truly displayed their sense of frustration, anger, depression and
drug addiction ( Grunge Music ). However, as Shannen Doherty said The music felt real and honest
and true, and they captured what youth was going at that time ( Nirvana in the Nineties ). Based on
this statement, regardless of their messages, this anger infused band truly believed that citizens should
be fully aware of the toxic problems that were going on in society. Examples of societal issues
included several crimes such as assault, prostitution, and robbery that were committed under the
influence of drugs (USA, DEA 91). Drugs, specifically heroin, were a major issue at the time. Heroin
was previously smuggled into the United States from Asia, but it had a new source during the 90s
South America. The percentage of Southeast Asian heroin from the DEA s Heroin Signature Program
rose from 9 percent in 1977 to 58 percent in 1991 (USA, DEA 95). Because of this increase in heroin,
it became more common to find in the United States. Even Kurt Cobain, the lead singer of Nirvana,
had a heroin addiction. When he committed suicide in 1994, it was shown that he had heroin in his
bloodstream. Several other grunge artists at the time were involved with drugs such as Alice in
Chains, Sublime, and Hole (Rosier). Because of this, parents began to hate the type of music teenagers
were being absorbed in during this time. For example, in the introduction of Grunge: Music and
Memory Catherine Strong recalls her experience of grunge and said, The rough metal boys and the
soft, ballad loving girls all got Nirvana, and agreed that it was good, and our parents hated it, (Strong
1). Teenagers felt very isolated at this time, but became united through grunge. Teens felt like they
could look up to artists such as Kurt Cobain because [Kurt Cobain] sang the fear, and the anger, and

The History Of GDP Growth Sweden
Economist s Explanation
The article begins with outlining the record of GDP growth Sweden since 2009 and speaks to how
Sweden s current monetary stimulus contrasts with what would typically be expected during a period
of sustained and increasing GDP growth. Typically, following a period of successful loose policy to
stimulate the economy, the central bank would move to increase interest rates and decrease the money
supply, such that money growth is equivalent to GDP growth (in the Classical view) and inflation rises
in a relatively controlled fashion. Increasing interest rates would discourage borrowing and spending
while also encouraging increased saving. Increased rates might also serve to divert funds out of equity
markets and into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Fed is currently concluding its period of quantitative easing and increasing interest rates thereby
potentially tightening the money supply as borrowing and spending will decrease while savings and
the rate of inflation increases.
The ECB continues its monetary stimulus through quantitative easing buying long term bonds to flood
the economy with money in the hopes of increasing inflation to the ECB target of just shy of 2%
(currently at 1.73% according to the ECB). The article notes the impact that foreign investment can
have on the exchange rate by discussing the Swiss Franc becoming overvalued, in part due to the drop
in oil prices coupled with a failing Russian economy (Revill). This has caused the currency to
appreciate forcing the SNB to take action against the rising exchange rate using quantitative easing to
reduce the upward pressure on the Swiss Franc .
The article also addresses the core reasons why the Riksbank is hesitant to reduce its monetary
stimulus. Swedish economists are acting conservatively with many believing that the increase in
inflation is due increased energy prices and airfares rather than the Riksbank s monetary stimulus.
They believe the rate of inflation would decrease should there be any changes in energy prices or
airfares. Ideally, the rate of inflation would remain from significantly fluctuating due to changes in
economic sectors and

Since the consumer is indifferent among all points on an indifference curve, when moving along it any
increase in satisfaction from gaining one good must be matched by an equal decrease in satisfaction
from a loss in the other good. An indifference curve is bowed toward the origin because the more of
good x that is consumed the less you are willing to give up of good y to get more of good x and
remain indifferent. 3. What do we call the magnitude of the slope of an indifference curve? The
magnitude of the slope of an indifference curve is called the marginal rate of substitution (MRS). The
MRS measures the rate at which the consumer gives up one good to get more of another good, while
remaining on the same indifference curve (keeping the consumer indifferent about the changes). The
ratio of the quantity of one good needed to replace the quantity of the other good and remain
indifferent is the slope of the indifference curve. The bowed in shape of the indifference curve is due
to the assumption of diminishing MRS. 4. What is the key assumption about a consumer s marginal
rate of substitution? The key assumption about the marginal rate of substitution is that it is diminishing
as a consumer moves down an indifference curve, creating the bowed in shape. Page 214 1. When a

A Comparison Of A Woman In Blue And A Beetle In Gold
A Woman in Blue and a Beetle in Gold
Many things can determine the differences between 2 paintings, so the two works by Yvonne Estrada
and Steven R. Kutcher, are very different in many ways, very similar. These two paintings mostly
differ in painter, and medium, but are similar in their use of color. They painters of these two works
are very different, so different that Steven R. Kutcher wasn t really the one who painted Sunrise No.1.
The real painter of Sunrise No.1 was an unnamed darkling beetle. A beetle who paints. Kutcher is
what you may call, a bug guy . He has helped with many bug related movies, including James and the
Giant Peach, so when director, Steven Spielberg needed a shot of a fly walking through ink, Kutcher
was happy to help, which started his interest in insect art. Yvonne Estrada is a woman, who is most
famous for her collection of works entitled Blue. She gets her inspiration for Blue through nature,
which is why many of her pieces include shapes that look to be flowers or leaves. Estrada and Kutcher
(or darkling beetles), do not have a whole lot in common. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In all of Estradas works she uses a paint called Gouache, which is similar to watercolor, but more

a neat effect. Kutcher gets paint on his insects, and sets them on a course for

A Species of Grass is E. Elymoides
The life form of E. elymoides is considered graminoid, which it is a plant with narrow leaves that
grow out from a base (Simonin 2001). E. elymoides has a height growth between 10 and 45 cm tall
where hollow stems, culms, protrude out from the base of the grass. The leaf blade thickness is
anywhere from flat to curved ranging from 1 to 6 mm; whereas the complete flower head, or
inflorescence of the grass, is a spike ranging from 2 to 17 cm long not counting the bristle like
structures at the end of the leaf. The internodes on each inflorescence structure are between 2 to 10
mm with branching on each side of the stem. The bristle like structures that grow out from the leaves
are anywhere from 2 to 10 cm long, and often become purple as the plant matures (USDA 2006). To
get a better idea of what E. elymoides looks like, the image below gives you an idea of what the bristle
like structures look like as well as the size and appearance of the inflorescence. Furthermore, the awns
(bristle like structures) help protect the plant from getting eaten by grazing animals because they
puncture flesh around the mouth which causes irritation and could potentially cause eye or ear injury
(Simonin 2001).
E. elymoides is able to tolerate moderate fire because of its rough texture, small size, and very little
leafy material that is difficult to catch fire (Simonin 2001). The likelihood for E. elymoides to catch
fire increases as the amount of dead and dry material increases from previous

Empowering People in the Workplace
James C. Sciascia
University of Phoenix
November 14, 2005 Empowering People in the Workplace Managers are studying in depth for
different ways to implement empowerment techniques into their organizations. The term
empowerment is making its way in today s corporations because all levels of management are cutting
back the number of employees in their organizations. Management is reducing the volume of
employees while the volume of work is increasing. A manager s ability to empower his workforce is
expected in order for him to succeed. However, most managers have a hard time with empowering
their employees. If empowerment is a challenge to implement in an organization, then read on.

277). In relation to my organization, empowerment is vital to the success of our department. Due to
cutbacks in our department, we have fewer employees to do the job. Spreading out the daily task was
difficult with only six employees. Therefore, the answer to the problem was to make up two teams.
Our director divided us into teams with a supervisor and she gave the teams the power to perform all
of the tasks that where needed to run the department. Everyone s ideas and skills were evaluated and
put into action in one way or another. By having the entire department working together as two teams,
we were able to complete the job with the power resting on the supervisors to get the job done. In
conclusion, it is evident that originations and management are faced with different problems everyday
in our changing business world. The idea of empowerment in the workplace could be implemented in
these originations as a possible solution to their problems. Different situations where empowerment
can be implemented were explained with the different steps in how to apply them in the organization.
Lastly, a shared personal experience showed how my department has used empowerment to help our
department become successful in today s changing world. The understanding of empowerment can be
helpful in any challenging business situation and can help organizations

For developing a QSPM, there are six major steps as follows:
Step 1
Make a list of the firm s key external opportunities/threats and internal strengths/weaknesses. As we
have done in SWOT analysis before.
Step 2
Assign weights to each key external and internal factor. This part is already done in SWOT analysis.

The Medicines Company What is the value of Angiomax to a hospital? Both Angiomax and Heparin
are widely used as an anticoagulant in acute coronary heart treatment. Since Angiomax is a potential
substitute for Heparin, Angiomax can be of great value to a hospital. Angiomax has three significant
advantages over Heparin. First, the effects of Angiomax are more accurate and dependable which
makes the product more predictable. Second, Angiomax doesn t require a 2 3 hour wait time for
results whereas Heparin does. Last but not least, Angiomax is safer for patients that are at risk for
bleeding. In all, it is effective in reducing complications or death in a hospital, which lead to a

Also, the company will want to educate the market and buyers. Angiomax should be seen as the

model of rescuing abandoned drugs? Just as anything, the company does face the risk of failure. The
fact that they are abandoned drugs should be a red flag as well. There is a reason and probably
multiple reasons why other companies abandoned these drugs. The list could include cost, profit,
safety, effectiveness, and much more. You have to wonder why this company thinks they can make a
difference in these abandoned drugs. Lets say Angiomax does become a success. Does this mean the
other drugs that they promote will be successful as well? Definitely not. Since the Medicines
Company doesn t have much history, they are more at risk with no accountability. Not to mention,
they don t have other drugs on the market that are or attaining FDA approval. I don t think that the
Medicines Company is ready to pursue this business model. Their focus should remain on Angiomax.
If Angiomax is a success, how much will this business model change? If Angiomax is a success, I
would expect the business model to change slightly. Their plan with rescuing abandoned drugs could

The Ways We Lie, By Ericsson
Most of the people lies and doublespeak when they are desperate to escape from situations that they
can t say the truth. For example, a dad can t say that his wife died to his children because they can be
shocked in a young age. In this book, The Ways We Lie , Ericsson talks about the types of lies and
how they are used. The other book, The World of Doublespeak , Lutz shows the types of double
speaking and the examples. A lie is a false statement or action especially made with the intent to
deceive and doublespeak is language that pretends to communicate but really doesn t. Both of them
are saying the false statement to someone but doublespeak is making the people to be understood in
several ways. Whereas, lying is just saying a false statement, doublespeak is half false and true

There are several Biblical references to candles, and the Emperor Constantine is reported to have
called for the use of candles during an Easter service in the 4th century. Candles also served a
religious purpose as well, with traditions going back into Hebrew tradition and adapted by Christians.
A candle was always kept lighted in a church to symbolize the presence of God as well as to light
other candles when needed. Alter candles were also used as symbols as well as helping the priest
saying mass to read the scriptures and prayers.
Votive candles were and still are often to be found in churches, which for a small donation, would be

information, connect communicate, accomplish the business transactions, and foster creativity and

the new Web 2.0 focuses more on user that allow us, varied participants, to create, design, and control
the content of the Web while deliberately interacting with other creator and sharing our thoughts, our

controversy increases. Personally, Web 2.0 made the online experience more convenient, enjoyable
and free than ever before.
First and foremost, one of the most notable breakthrough of the Web 2.0 is the improvement in search
engines including Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Tim O Reiley convincingly stated about the new
experiences that Google brought into our life in his article Web 2.0: Design Patterns and Business
Models rather than providing information though selling an owner product of the older company like

service. None of the trappings of the old software industry are present.

Essay about Deception in William Shakespeare s Twelfth Night
Deception in William Shakespeare s Twelfth Night
In William Shakespeare s comedic play, Twelfth Night, a recurring theme is deception. The characters
in the play used deception for a variety of purposes. Viola s use of deception involves her disguising
herself as a man in order to obtain a job with the Duke of Illyria, Orsino. On the other hand, Maria,
Olivia s servant, writes a letter to Malvolio in Olivia s handwriting to make Malvolio act foolishly
because of his love for Olivia. While some use deception as a means of survival, others use deception
to trick others and make them act foolishly.
The first example of deception in this play was when Viola decides to disguise herself as a man. Viola

She feels pity for Olivia and herself with the statement Poor lady, she were better love a dream (2.2.

Another example of deception is when Maria, Olivia s servant writes a letter to Malvolio, Olivia s
head servant and Maria s coworker. Maria deceives Malvolio by writing in Olivia s handwriting. In
the letter she says that Olivia loves men in yellow stockings. Remember who commended thy yellow
stockings, and wished to see thee ever cross gartered (2.5. 143 145). Maria knows that Malvolio will
follow this ridiculous deed because of this love for his lady Olivia. Sir Toby Belch says, He shall think
by the letters that thou wilt drop that they come from my niece, and that she s in love with him (2.3.
154 156). Maria places the letter in her garden where Malvolio will definitely find it. Thinking Olivia
will fall in love with him because of his clothing, Malvolio dress up in yellow stockings and goes to
see Olivia. When Olivia sees Malvolio and the way he is acting, she isolates him for fear that he is
insane.
Shakespeare s use of cross dressing and deceitfulness extends beyond the actual writings in the plays
and goes onto the stage. Women were not allowed to perform on stage in Shakespeare s time. . ..all the
great women s roles in Elizabethan and Jacobean plays, from Juliet and Lady Macbeth to the duchess

Violence As Fun By Randall Sullivan Summary
The article Violence As Fun by Randall Sullivan brings up this issue, arguing that parents need to be
educated on the dangers of allowing their children to watch violent TV programs. The author supports
this with evidence from a report conducted by The American Psychological Association, where they
concluded that early substance abuse, access to weapons, isolation, and widespread display of
violence in media; the latter being greater, contributes to the violent behaviors in adolescents. He also
points out that since the 1950s, aggravated assaults have increased seven times. The passage further
emphasizes that many TV outlets know the damaging effects that violence in media has on juveniles,
yet only a few acknowledge this fact. Sullivan s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because they view it all the time, so it becomes commonplace to where they are no longer
affected by it. This can cause them to embrace these acts, which can lead to them becoming
aggressive. The disadvantages of adolescents being desensitized to violence are being less likely to
help someone in a life threatening situation, lack of empathy and encouraging violent behaviors. This
is supported by Sullivan, stating The media s influence on young people is arguably the most
corrosive of all factors cited and by far the most difficult to contain. (Sullivan 619). This shows that
not only is the media a dominating force, it s detrimental and problematic to contain and refrain from.
When children are watching cartoons like Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner and the popular
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; where the characters blow each other up with TNT and fight with
swords and daggers, they are not wincing at the mayhem, instead they re laughing and applauding the
antics because they think it s funny and cool. Because their children seem to be entertained, parents
are not intervening for the reason that their kids now have something to occupy their time. As a result,
this may send mixed signals to adolescents causing them to believe that these outrageous acts are

A Research Report On Dual Career Couples Essay
Six primary source research reports were examined for this Review of Literature and it became
evident that there were two common themes. These two common themes were shown to negatively
affect dual career couples in five out of the six primary source research reports that the student has
studied over a period of time. Theme one is occupational issues that lead to dual career marital
conflict. Theme two is support/psychological issues that lead to marital conflict.
Theme 1
The first common theme that the student has found is the occupational issues that lead to conflict in
dual career marriages. One of the major issues that the student had to consider during this process was
occupational similarities and differences. In the research from Reed and Reed, Werbel and Hames, and
Rochlen and O Brien studied the negative effects that an occupation can have on a marriage when
both spouses work in the same company. Researchers Reed and Reed study occupational mobility;
researchers want to find how dual career couples who work within the same governmental position
will react to relocations. While researchers Werbel and Hames examined the attitudes and views that
supervisors and employees have on dual career couples who work in the same company. Finally,
researchers Rochlen and O Brien study the occupational problems that men have and why they will or
will not seek career advice; they evaluate how this can cause conflict within a marriage.

use of marijuana and the drug marijuana should be legalized. I believe this, because no one is forced
to grow it, sell it, or smoke it. They do it because they want to. Yes, it causes bodily damage, but so
does cigarettes and alcohol. The legalization of this drug would benefit the economy and will allow
police to go after the drugs that are actually taking people s lives, instead of the one that really isn t
doing any more harm than alcohol and cigarettes do. I believe that prostitution should never be
legalized. Most prostitution is going on because of a man who wants money, and has decided that he
will take women from their homes and families and is forcing them to do things that they shouldn t, so
they can make some good money out of it. Of course this happens to men as well, but you mostly only
see woman selling themselves and I believe that there should be more help out there for those women
and men, instead of

The Power of Superstition Essays
The Power of Superstition
A superstition is the belief or practice resulting from ignorance, fear of the unknown, trust in magic or
chance, or a false conception of causation. Superstition is also an irrational abject attitude of mind
toward the supernatural, nature, or God or a notion maintained despite evidence to the contrary
(Merriam Webster). Superstitions are the most common relic of the past handed down from the ages.
When where did superstition come from? There is an abundance of superstitions to date.
Basic superstitions can be broken down into three broad categories: Predictive, Causative and
Conversion. Predictive superstitions are when people believe that a particular superstition will predict
an oncoming event. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The history of superstition states that the ladder and ground forms a triangle representing a holy
symbol from Egyptian times or a holy trinity from Christianity, therefore, by walking through the
triangle is denoted as bad luck (Origin).
Throwing salt over your left shoulder is the most known conversion superstition. Throwing salt over
your left shoulder diverts the bad luck; you received when you spilt the salt. This superstition started
in 1881, it states you have spilt salt on the table, and then thrown over your left shoulder the bad luck
is averted (Opie, Tatem 343).
Another common superstition is Friday the 13th. Many reasons exist for why Friday the 13th was
deemed to be unlucky. It is believed to have started at the expelling of Adam Eve from Garden of
Eden. People believe that they were sent from paradise on Friday.
It is also believe that the Noah s flood started and Jesus was crucified on a Friday. It is also known that
there were 13 at the Last Supper when Judas betrayed Jesus. Judas was the thirteenth guest at the table
for the Last Supper (Origin).
Friday is regarded to be the most superstitious day compared to all of the other days of the week.

Comparing My Last Duchess And The Cask Of Amontillado
William Shakespeare s Othello presents the dangers of evil when it s in the form of jealousy. In the
play Othello, Shakespeare uses the characters of Iago, Othello and Roderigo to prove that jealousy is
at the root of all evil. Within the play, Shakespeare uses the emotion of jealousy to motivate the
destruction of Othello. Iago s jealousy towards Cassio being Othello s lieutenant is proof of how
jealousy can take the form of evil by causing competition, sexual suspicion and death for the other
characters in the play. The concentration of jealousy and evil in Othello is similar to the theme of
jealousy and evil in Robert Browning s My Last Duchess and The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar
Allan Poe. In Robert Browning s My Last Duchess the theme of jealousy motivated the Duke to
murder his wife, he couldn t support the way the Duchess treated other people and the thought that
other people had the same power as him over his wife. In The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allan
Poe, the relationship between appearance and reality and that appearance can be deceiving becomes a
proof of evil within the character of Monstresor. William Shakespeare Othello has shown the power of
evil when is in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is consumed with jealousy of Cassio and with hatred of Othello because he was not chosen as
lieutenant, Cassio was. Iago is a man blinded by envy, jealousy and anger, with an objective in mind
for everyone to become equally jealous. Shakespeare uses Iago s jealousy to move the force of the
play and with Iago s betrayal and manipulation Shakespeare shapes the play as a study of how
jealousy can consume you, leading to the destruction of others. Iago s plan is to get revenge on Cassio
while destroying Othello. Iago s jealousy towards Cassio leads him to invent a lie about Cassio having
an affair with Desdemona, Othello s wife. Iago is evil, he is the definition of

Careers At Lodging And Food And Beverage 2
CAREERS IN LODGING AND FOOD AND BEVERAGE 2
Lodging, food and beverage is becoming popular in the world today. A lot of people are going to
college in order to be in this type of work. They learn how each field work and also how challenging
the field has become over the years. It is fascinating how much these fields are so vast but yet similar.
Many people that want to get into this field find that it can be helpful to learn firsthand how these
industries have functioned economically in the past and figure out how they will function in years to
come. Lodge Management requires a person to have great communication skills and must be diverse.
The Key management functions are planning, organizing, decision making, communicating, human
resources and motivating and controlling (Introduction to hospitality pg.539). These functions can be
stressful. Lodge management roles require a person to be on their feet all day, sometimes more than a
regular 8 hour day, they usually require them to work during the day and then have to come back on
another shift if necessary. Most managers that work in the lodging fields are on call most of the time;
even if it s the front desk manager, the housekeeping manager or food and beverage. They must be
able to handle customer complaints in a timely manner to satisfy the customer. General Managers are

Children aged five or six would not be able to play on playground apparatus that is only suitable for
children over 8 years of age because the apparatus would be too high or have more complex climbing

should be available to aid their development. Apparatus/equipment for a child with special educational

Salvadoran Immigration Policy
Caught in the crosshairs of a vicious war fueled by military aid from the United States, Salvadorans
throughout the 1980s and 1990s strived to make a life for themselves. Running from El Salvador in
hopes of a better future, they found themselves deadlocked in a marginalized life north of the US
Mexico border in Los Angeles. Without the law on their side, many Salvadorans struggled to obtain
legal admittance to the United States due to inconsistent and inadequate immigration policies
implemented throughout President Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan s administrations. In Los
Angeles during the mid 80s, a young group of Salvadorans emerged and called themselves the Mara

Jane Addams And Gloria Steinem
Feminism has been a controversial topic since as early as the 19th century. Feminism has had a
profound effect on women s roles in society as well as their everyday life. There are countless
feminists whose achievements are still recognized and remembered today. Jane Addams is a historical
feminist who changed the lives for the women of her time, and is still talked about to this day. While
feminism was huge in the earlier years of America, there are contemporary feminists who fight for the
rights and equality of women that are still not met. In recent years, Gloria Steinem has spoken up for
the equality of women and pushed for social reform. Jane Addams and Gloria Steinem are more than
feminists, they are activists with many accomplishments that changed the lives for every woman of
their time. Jane Addams is a well known historical feminist, activist, social worker, and leader in
women s suffrage whose legacy still lives on today. Although she was considered radical for her time,
she thought of ways to push for social and political reforms in socially acceptable ways. Her
achievements created an abundance of opportunities for women that would change their roles in
society.
September 6, 1860 Addams was born in Cedarville, Illinois to a family with a great amount of money.
Since her teens, Addams had big dreams to do something useful in the world. Addams was full of
ambition that stemmed from her childhood experiences. Her mother passed away when Addams was

The Search for Identity in Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man...
The Search for Identity in Ralph Ellison s Invisible Man
It is through the prologue and epilogue, that we understand the deeper meanings of Ralph Ellison s
Invisible Man. The prologue is essential, laying down a foundation that allows us to understand the
meaning and reason behind the symbolism and relevance of events the that follow. The prologue
allows us to understand the extent and level of intensity the novel is trying to achieve. Acting in the
same way, the epilogue further illustrates the importance of different parts of the novel allowing us to
truly see what the Invisible Man wants us to notice and take from the telling of his life.
In the prologue the narrator introduces himself as the Invisible Man, simultaneously ... Show more

His free electricity and rent free existence prove the power of his invisibility. By not being visible the
Invisible Man learns he does not have to live by the rules of visible people, showing us the deeper
meaning of his invisibility.
The narrator also reveals his current living situation in the prologue. He emphasizes the 1,369 lights
he has in his abandoned basement; speaking metaphorically of how the light represents truth; more
importantly the truth of his existence. He needs the light to confirm his own being, showing how the
inability of society to see him affects him and makes the Invisible Man blind as well. This idea of how
the blindness of the world causes him to be blind as well, is constantly referred to in the book, and it is
only thought the prologue we understand the full meaning.
The most important thing that we can take from the prologue is his symbolic hibernation , the
Invisible Man s life in his hole or basement. His hole represents imprisonment, for he feels he is held
prisoner by his lack of identity and by the society that refuses to see him. Keeping this ending of his
life in mind, we are able to look into the events in the book and see that they all lead to him trying to
escape the hole by being noticed as a person in the world. Even the point of him writing and retelling
his life is an escape route, giving him hard evidence that he

Naval Academy
In fall, 2017, 20 million students will attend colleges and universities in America alone. For me and
many other people this will be the next step after high school. The United States Naval Academy or
simply the USNA is one of the five service academies in the U.S. and is the one I will be focusing on
today. Through my research, I have found that the Naval Academy has very interesting Alumni/post
school experiences, wonderful extracurriculars and an extensive history. Many colleges and
universities have unique alumni and a unique after college experiences, but none are quite as daring
and interesting as those of the USNA. At graduation, you are commissioned as a Ensign in the navy or
a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps. After their commision, midshipmen have to serve five years,
and then are able to pursue other jobs. Some notable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The academy was founded on October 10, 1845, making it the second oldest of the five service
academies, but wasn t given it s current name until 1850. Along with the name change, new
curriculum was set causing midshipmen to study 4 years and go aboard ships in the summer. This
would later change to two years of study preceding and following three years aboard a ship. In 1933
the academy started giving out bachelors in science followed by a new present core curriculum
including 18 major fields of study and many elective courses. The student body has grown from 50 to
now 4,000 and will continue on this track. The campus, located in Annapolis, MD, has also had major
improvements, growing from a mere 10 acres to a breathtaking 388 acres of space fit for a king. In
1976 the academy first accepted women, making the school have total equality. The 2020 class size is
projected to have 331 women, making 28% of all students female. Without the Naval Academy s rich

Team Work Essay
Introduction
Teamwork is essential to the smooth running of many projects, organisations and companies. Much
research has been conducted into the effectiveness of teams and their contributions to organisational
success.
This essay considers one particular team consisting of two student nurses (members A and B) and 4
student radiographers (members C, D, E, and F), all 3rd year degree level, whose task was to produce
a poster for assessment over a one week period.
Theory and models of teamwork will be used to discuss all aspects of this team including team roles,
communication, conflict and decision making. Conclusions will then be drawn as to how the team
could have been more effective in their completion of the task. ... Show more content on

Research has shown that teamwork increases efficiency (Thylefors et al, 2005 in Newson, 2006). A
team can pool knowledge and skills and, if well motivated, create energy increasing a team s
efficiency beyond that of the individuals.
Modern views on teamwork also consider the satisfaction of the workforce by becoming more
autonomous and reducing hierarchical structures (Ovretveit et al, 1997).
5 Team Development
The most commonly used model to discuss team development is Tuckman s (1965) (in Huczynski
Buchanan, 2001) forming, storming, norming and performing model. However, the team concerned
more closely followed the Cog s ladder model (see appendix 1. for full description) (Walton, 1984).
1. Polite stage (day 1)
The initial introductions of the team members took place during a coffee break, however, the task was
not clearly discussed at this stage and so roles were not yet defined. The members worked at a
distance from each other to complete a treasure hunt task.
2. Why are we here? (day 2)
The goals were established and two subgroups (student nurses, A and B and student radiographers, C,
D, E and F) emerged.
3. Bid for power (day 2/3)
Conflict and rivalry within the group prevailed. At this stage two members of the group, A and C,
became identifiable as leaders.
4. Constructive phase (day 3/4)
The team did eventually reach this stage with activities being divided amongst members and all
members participating.

Drug Decriminalization
The Alcohol and other drug (AOD) field is dynamic and fluid and is constantly being shaped by a
variety of forces (The Department of Health, 2004). Illicit drug use is a widespread issue around the
world, posturing significant social and economic costs to the health care system, justice department
and social welfare systems in both developing and developed countries (Damrongplasit, Hsiao, Zhao,
2012). Criminal Justice and addictive drugs have been tangled in Australia and internationally for a
century or more. Ever since the addictive and destructive properties were discover within certain
drugs, officials have declared the production, distribution, sale and possession of drugs to be illegal
(Sherman Valenta, 2015). Throughout this article, there will be a focus on firstly, drug legislation and
decriminalisation with a focus on marijuana, followed by harm minimisation Firstly, Drug related
crimes take up a large portion of the work of police, prisons and the courts (Ritter, 2017) In many
countries, including Australia, the issue of varying the laws regarding marijuana use has received
growing attention in the media and the scientific community (Lenton Ovenden, 1996). There have
been many discussions made in favor for and against the legalization and/or decriminalization of
drugs. The legalization of drugs means, you are able to acquire, possess and use the said drug without
criminal charges (Clausen, 2016) while Decriminalization can be defined as a reduction of

  • 2. Pompeii s Destructive Evening In Pompeii A loud noise like a gun went off from the volcano exploding as people ran for their lives. This is probably what one destructive morning in Pompeii looked like in 79 AD. Pompeii is important because of its destruction, rediscovery, and because it provided information about the ancient world. Mt. Vesuvius gave Pompeii a warning earthquake in 62 AD (Goor 8). In 79 AD, a loud bang warned the city that Vesuvius was about to explode (Cartwright par.12). The explosion covered over 200 square miles, including not only Pompeii, but a couple other towns (List25). The eruption lasted about a day, but the ash, rocks, and pumice blanketed the city for about two days. Pompeii was buried about twenty feet deep (List25). After the eruption, some people tried to dig to their homes (Goor 13). The eruption was one day after the festival of the Roman god of fire (List25). Pompeii was founded in 7th century BC and was at the peak of it s existence. It was even popular for rich Roman tourists to stay there (List25). Even Nero, a Roman emperor, had one of his summer houses in Pompeii, and one of his wives was born there (Cartwright 3). After August 24, 79 AD, Pompeii was forgotten. Soon, grass and flowers covered the city (Etienne 11). After a while, Pompeii was called Civias or ancient city (Goor 13). Pompeii s name was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cameron Jackson Interview If you re anything like me, there s a sense of accomplishment that comes when you work tenaciously to bring something about, and once you have achieved what many may have doubted, you can just sit back and smile. And that is exactly how I feel about my interview with Cameron Mathison. From the moment I first requested the interview to the moment it happened, it was nearly five months, and there were times I wondered if my continued petitions were more irritating than anything else and would even bring my hopes to fruition. Forty four percent of the respondents were male, and 56% were female. Seventy eight percent of the respondents were between the ages of twelve and fifteen, while 22% of the respondents were between the ages of sixteen and eighteen. Only about 1 of 10 students (9.8%) said that when Pokemon Go was popular they played every day. However, roughly 3 in 10 students (31.6%) answered that when it was popular their friends played every day. The hypothesis stated: Males play video games significantly more than females. As the results demonstrate, there was a significant difference between males and females with respect to playing Pokemon Go while it was popular ( t= 4.507, p .05). More specifically, males played Pokemon Go at a much higher rate (M= 2.00) than females (M=1.38). Although the results were not as strong, there was also a large difference between males and females with respect to perception of their friends playing (t=2.627, p=.009). The results of this question show that males believe their peers play much more (M= 2.77) than females (M= 2.31). • 8. Social Disorganization Theory On Urban Ecology And Burgess... Social Disorganization Nicole Hofmann Criminological Theory University of Tampa Abstract Social Disorganization theory has its roots in urban ecology and Burgess s concentric model. As part of the positivist paradigm of criminology, it poses a scientific examination of the connection of social disorganization and crime mediated by structural factors. The macro level research concludes that a weakening of social bonds between an individual and institutions of socialization will lead to delinquency. Over time, there has been much empirical support for the theory and extensions have been made to include more reliable measures of social disorganization within a community. This paper will discuss the origins of the theory developed by Shaw and McKay, then move forward to prominent empirical support, social disorganization research on suburban areas and lead up to valid criticism of the theory. Finally, there will be an examination of the policy implications originally posed and a proposal towards a more integrated approach addressing causes for social disorganization through the critical paradigm of criminology. Introduction Social disorganization theory is part of the positivist paradigm of criminology, a scientific approach to crime causes, and part of the Chicago School of crime. While trait theories under the positivist approach assume that crime is cause by internal factors, social disorganization theory relies on the assumption that crime is caused by environmental ... In detail define the characteristics of a jezebel and mammy . Why were black women defined in these two extreme ways? By contrast, how were Southern white women characterized? * One of the most standout images of black women in white slavery America was of a woman who ran entirely off of her sex drive, a Jezebel. A jezebel was considered to be the complete opposite of a proper white woman. She was thought to have little to none religious affiliation. Because of her expertise in all domestic matters, she was the premier house servant and all others were her subordinates. This, therefore, is the broad outline of Mammy. She was a woman completely dedicated to the white family, especially to the children of that family. She was the house servant who was given complete charge of domestic management. She served also as friend and advisor. She was, in short, a surrogate mistress and mother, giving into the modern day nanny. The Mammy image is fully as misleading as that of Jezebel. Both images have enough instances in reality to lend credibility to stereotypes that would profoundly affect black women. For instance, Black women served in all capacities, from cook to waiting maid, or seamstress. In very wealthy Southern households there were many female servants. Children grew very attached to Mammy, as she was seen as their primary caregiver. Being a Mammy was idyllic for a slave women, for they were given better care and the work wasn t as tasking. Hard as cleaning, cooking, sewing, dairy work, and child care were, they were not as physically taxing as a sun up to sun down day in the cropbe it sugar, rice, or cotton. • 11. Summary Of Crito By Plato In Crito by Plato, Socrates faces a difficult dilemma. Socrates has been wrongfully charged of impiety and corrupting the children and is approached with an offer from his close friend Crito who says he will help Socrates escape and give him a nice place to live away from Athens where he can flee from a wrongful execution. Socrates should stay in prison and face his execution in order to prove he is innocent. Socrates wants to do no wrong at all and comes to the conclusion that escaping would do more harm than facing a wrongful execution. He feels that escaping would be wronging those who wronged him which is still doing wrong. The laws have not wronged Socrates but the people of Athens have. These laws helped him grow into the man he is and he feels he would be doing a disservice to them by going against what he swore to stay true to. When Crito tells Socrates that people will see him as a bad friend Socrates replies, But why, my dear Crito, should we care about the opinion of the many? Good men, and they are the only persons who are worth considering, will think of these things truly as they happened . Basically, Socrates is explaining that what people think is irrelevant and that good men will understand Socrates decision and will not think poorly of Crito as they will see things as they truly happened. If Socrates were to leave he would be breaking his agreement to obey the laws. Socrates swore an oath to accept the verdict and penalty and if he left now he would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This quote accurately depicts the intention of creating music for others. In the 90s, the grunge and rap communities would express annoyance towards how society functioned during this chaotic decade. The United States was undergoing an economic boom which affected the music world. In terms of political change, the government and society had disagreements over the scandals and controversial issues being discussed throughout communities around the country. Its mixture of punk and heavy metal truly displayed their sense of frustration, anger, depression and drug addiction ( Grunge Music ). However, as Shannen Doherty said The music felt real and honest and true, and they captured what youth was going at that time ( Nirvana in the Nineties ). Based on this statement, regardless of their messages, this anger infused band truly believed that citizens should be fully aware of the toxic problems that were going on in society. Examples of societal issues included several crimes such as assault, prostitution, and robbery that were committed under the influence of drugs (USA, DEA 91). Drugs, specifically heroin, were a major issue at the time. Heroin was previously smuggled into the United States from Asia, but it had a new source during the 90s South America. The percentage of Southeast Asian heroin from the DEA s Heroin Signature Program rose from 9 percent in 1977 to 58 percent in 1991 (USA, DEA 95). Because of this increase in heroin, it became more common to find in the United States. Even Kurt Cobain, the lead singer of Nirvana, had a heroin addiction. When he committed suicide in 1994, it was shown that he had heroin in his bloodstream. Several other grunge artists at the time were involved with drugs such as Alice in Chains, Sublime, and Hole (Rosier). Because of this, parents began to hate the type of music teenagers were being absorbed in during this time. For example, in the introduction of Grunge: Music and Memory Catherine Strong recalls her experience of grunge and said, The rough metal boys and the soft, ballad loving girls all got Nirvana, and agreed that it was good, and our parents hated it, (Strong 1). The History Of GDP Growth Sweden Economist s Explanation The article begins with outlining the record of GDP growth Sweden since 2009 and speaks to how Sweden s current monetary stimulus contrasts with what would typically be expected during a period of sustained and increasing GDP growth. Typically, following a period of successful loose policy to stimulate the economy, the central bank would move to increase interest rates and decrease the money supply, such that money growth is equivalent to GDP growth (in the Classical view) and inflation rises in a relatively controlled fashion. The article notes the impact that foreign investment can have on the exchange rate by discussing the Swiss Franc becoming overvalued, in part due to the drop in oil prices coupled with a failing Russian economy (Revill). This has caused the currency to appreciate forcing the SNB to take action against the rising exchange rate using quantitative easing to reduce the upward pressure on the Swiss Franc . The article also addresses the core reasons why the Riksbank is hesitant to reduce its monetary stimulus. Since the consumer is indifferent among all points on an indifference curve, when moving along it any increase in satisfaction from gaining one good must be matched by an equal decrease in satisfaction from a loss in the other good. An indifference curve is bowed toward the origin because the more of good x that is consumed the less you are willing to give up of good y to get more of good x and remain indifferent. 3. What do we call the magnitude of the slope of an indifference curve? The magnitude of the slope of an indifference curve is called the marginal rate of substitution (MRS). The MRS measures the rate at which the consumer gives up one good to get more of another good, while remaining on the same indifference curve (keeping the consumer indifferent about the changes). The ratio of the quantity of one good needed to replace the quantity of the other good and remain indifferent is the slope of the indifference curve. The bowed in shape of the indifference curve is due to the assumption of diminishing MRS. 4. What is the key assumption about a consumer s marginal rate of substitution? The key assumption about the marginal rate of substitution is that it is diminishing as a consumer moves down an indifference curve, creating the bowed in shape. Page 214 1.
