The Importance Of Small Business In America
Small businesses in America have existed since civilizations first settled, whether people traded goods
in the place of currency, or offered services and talents for money. Over the past 100 years, the small
businesses and entrepreneurs of America have evolved in ways no one could have predicted. From the
invention of the internet to the sliding scale that is the American economy, small businesses have seen
their times of great success and struggle alike. With the changing culture, obstacles may morph into
opportunities, and, conversely, opportunities can turn into obstacles. The presence of social media is
an opportunity for businesses today but an obstacle for businesses of the early 20th century; demand
was an opportunity for business owners in the 20th century but an obstacle today; and economic
fluctuation is an obstacle found in both time periods. Unlike small businesses in the early 20th
century, small businesses today can greatly benefit from social media platforms. Not only can
businesses run their own pages online, they can pay for ads that promote their product in a unique and
novel way. For example, social media can allow a smaller business to grow on their chosen platform
(such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and increase the amount of potential customers that view
their product(s) or service(s). Everyday, there is an abundance of advertisements uploaded and viewed
on several varieties of social media platforms and [b]ehind these staggering numbers is a

Relationship Between Admissions Committee And The...
Outline: Introduction Relationship between Admissions Committee and the composition of lawyers in
the community. Law school admissions plays an active role in shaping the future of the legal
profession, as the composition of the legal profession has been largely determined by Law School
Admissions Committees. The legal system reflects the cultural, social, and economic views of legally
trained individuals. The types of individuals who receive formal legal training shape the legal system
through their values, personal experiences, and identity. Since the legal system reflects the cultural,
social, and economic views of legally trained individuals, and is intended to benefit all members of
society , the admissions process has the greatest impact on the composition of the student body , and
arguably, the legal system as a whole. Admissions Criteria 1. Historically Traditionally, legal
education has been accessible only to majority social groups in Canada. In relying on GPA and LSAT
score, the student population was primarily young, upper middle class, unvaried in ethnicity, and
unrepresentative of Canada as a whole. 2. More Modern Approach Law school admissions committees
have adopted the simultaneous use of three admission categories: regular category, special admission,
and First Nations categories. The regular category relies on objective data through statistical
manipulation of LSAT and GPA data, and is the predominantly used method by admissions

Summary Of Matthew Condon s Brisbane
Brisbane
Brisbane deals with history, childhood and growing up. Matthew Condon s Brisbane is obsessed
with time and timelessness, it uses childhood experiences (both his and his sons) to attempt to connect
the past to the present. Condon continuously refers to himself feeling events and people of the past;
people often refer to this book as being nostalgic but Condon s writing seem to suggest more than that.
And you really live by the river? What a jolly life! By it and with it and on it and in it, said the rat. It s

The Process Of Making Flour Essay
Today, grain are collecting and threshing by harvesting machines with large headers to put it in a grain
wagon in order to transfer it to be stored (see Fig. 2). Making flour process is one of the most
important steps before bread making that is obtained by grinding the seeds in a very huge milling
machine (see Fig. 3). The process of making bread starts with collecting the ingredients like sugar,
flour, milk, malt, salt and storing them in storage. Certain types of Lorries carry flour from which
different types of bread are made of. Later on, it is put into containers that are found in a separate
place taking the form of a tower. Other ingredients are left in the storage area (see Fig. 4). Special
dough kneading machine that is provided with a powerful double screw is utilized in kneading
process. While the ingredients are mixing together, the machine starts from a low to a high speed. The
dough became ready during five minutes before transporting it to the next place where it is
proportioned (see Fig. 5). Divider is a very special machine used to divide the dough into parts of a
certain weight that are considered. These pieces are transported from the divider to machine taking the
con shape which is responsible for give them a rounded shape which in their turn are left to be
fermented for about nine minutes. After germination process, the rounded shapes are formed in a long
oval form. The spheres are kneaded flat and then rolled up (see Fig. 6). White bread is baked in a

California Gold Rush Research Paper
California: From Origins to Gold Rush The historical outline of the formation of California is
commonly portrayed as a series of romantic accomplishments shadowing the cruel reality of its
unearthing. Many people are unaware of the harsh truth that, specifically, Native Indians of the land
faced as a result of migration and colonization by Spaniards and settlers. Such migration and
colonization lead to the piñata effect, a concept developed by Dr. Daniel Cady, professor at CSU
Fresno, meaning that as people grow, resources shrink which leads to arguments and conflict,
commenced and became the basis of the formation of what California is today. California, a once

In the battle royale that developed on their own land, Indians became the weakest competitor with all
odds going against them. From 1770 1900 their population had diminished from 300 K 10K, creating
a genocide many still argue about today. California did become the most diverse location in the world,
but it had a great cost to it, the assassination of a vital culture that almost led to their extinction.

Iago s Manipulative Nature in Shakespeare s Othello Essays
Iago s Manipulative Nature in Othello
Iago s manipulative nature has a profound effect on the decisions made by other characters in
Shakespeare s Othello . Through his relations with those around him Shakespear characterizes him as
a man full of malice, vengeance and dishonesty that is wholly inspired by jealousy. Furthermore it
would appear that Iago has an exceptional ability to scheme, a talent which he uses to snake his way
into the lives of others and exploit them through their weaknesses. Whether he does this for profit or
for pleasure is a separate issue.

Act I. iii. 393 395).
In this way, Iago finds Rodrigo s soft spot and uses it to his advantage, that being his interest in
Desdemona in order to gain more useful information. Thus we can see the way in which Iago holds on
to this information and twists its innocence for his gain.
Othello is the character with whom most of Iago s methods have success. His weakness as a jealous
lover is apparent early on, but only after Iago s has planted the seeds of doubt within his mind. Such is
Othello s trust for Iago that he uses the misnomer of describing Iago as honest Iago and irony
considering the action held within the play. The trust is obvious and implicit and thoroughly
entrenched within the language. Othello surmises on the aforementioned doubts during the last act of
the play when he says;
...speak of me as I am... Then must you speak of one that loved not wisely, but too well... (Othello. Act
IV. ii. 402 404).
By taking advantage of this fact, he is able to kill two birds with one stone. Iago feeds on Othello s
jealousy by setting Casio up to look like he is conducting an extra marital affair with Desdemona,
refuting Othello s initial denial. However, eventually, Iago has Othello so angered that he accepts Iago
s offer to kill Cassio for him.
And for Cassio, let me be his undertaker. You shall hear more by midnight. (Othello. Act IV. i. 230

Deviant
Throughout the semester we have been talking about what is considered deviant. Can deviant be a
good thing or a bad thing? What we have discovered is that a deviant can be a negative or a positive
reaction in your life. Deviant is a broad subject. Some of its focus is on social rules, politics, locations
and activities you do or talents that you have. In the observation paper, we will be discussing what
makes you an insider or an outsider. How is it related to deviants, is it related to race, gender, actions,
or skilled levels? Are these thinks useful to fix in every day society. I personally am not the type of
person that just goes out and talks to strangers, unless I noticed them being quiet and distant from the

Cheating Is Not A New Conversation
Cheating is not a new conversation when it comes to sports. There are several forms of cheating such
as shaving points, using performance enhancement drugs, or sports betting. The formal definition of
cheating is to act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, especially in a game or
examination, (Merriam Webster dictionary). When it comes to college sports, it is easy for a player to
be persuaded to shave a few points for money. A typical question asked about sports is what happens if
a team or player is caught cheating? Cheating is widespread it just depends on if the team or player
gets caught. Recent examples of the cheating culture in sport includes Bill Belichick, coach of the
New England Patriots, directing his staff to videotape the defensive signals of the New York Jets and
athletes in 10 sports at Florida State University cheating on their academic work, (Lumpkin, 2011, p.
2). With cheating being so widespread, the real reason to play sports seems to be lost in all the chaos
of winning.
Cheating in sports is such an intriguing topic. Personally, this topic is interesting to me because sports
are a part of my life and whenever someone cheats just to win, I always wonder why they would do
such a thing. I understand that cheating happens in every level of sport. But what if everyone is
cheating? These questions are the reasons this topic is important to me. In addition, how will we

A pair of binoculars or a telescope makes the bird seem closer to you, making you able to see the close
up details of the bird. While on a bird watching trip, many people bring a pair of binoculars or a
telescope, sometimes even a bird guide. These bird guides will help you to spot and know what certain
bird species are. Although the majority of bird watchers are pretty well informed, a guide confirm
identification of birds spotted, and helps birders who may be traveling in land they haven t explored
before. Many bird watchers have a bird watching life list , which is a paper that they carry around that
helps them to keep up with the birds they have seen and the birds they haven t seen yet. Also, a sound
recorder would be helpful. Since it can be hard to identify some types of birds, you could record what
you hear and play it back later for identification by an expert. Extra gear that a bird watcher may find
to need include heavy weight boots for different land they aren t used to and layered clothes to help
deal with the changing weather. As for Florida, it s thought of as a birdwatcher s paradise. The
perfectly mild weather, location and diverse surroundings attract over 470 different species of birds.
Many experienced bird watchers suggest getting a field guide for the area where you would want to go

Theme Of Snow Country
The setting is the basis upon which the story of a novel develops, as it has a tremendous effect on what
happens in the story. In the novel Snow Country by Yasunari Kawabata the setting plays a pivotal role
in highlighting prominent themes such as, Loneliness, Wasted Love and Wasted Beauty. Snow country
is the literal translation of the Japanese title Yukiguni . The name comes from where the story takes
place or rather where the story is set ; a village (rural area) on an island in Japan that receives a huge
amount of snow during the season of winter . The title Snow Country it self induces a slight hint of the

Benefits Of Children Believing In Santa Claus
The Christmas Debate: Benefits of Children Believing in Santa Claus
Shortly after the trees appear barren after losing all their leaves, most houses and businesses also alter
appearances for the season. Many families drag out boxes of red and green decorations to transform
their homes for the holidays. Parents may brave the line stretching down the mall so their child can tell
Father Christmas, or Santa Claus, what he or she wishes to unwrap on Christmas morning. Some
question the effect on a child s health or morals associated with the belief in Santa Claus, but with
research and psychologists weighing in on the subject state there is no traumatic evidence apparent in
letting a child have faith in Santa Claus. Evidence gathered by these studies may suggest a benefit for
youth. Children should have the opportunity to believe in Santa Claus because it enhances creativity
and can improve mental health, shows young individuals an example of giving without expecting
anything in return, and when the time comes, forces kids to distinguish the difference between fantasy
and reality. Fraser (2015) found that the individual whose story inspired the mythical Santa, also
known as Saint Nicholas, originates from a bishop living in Turkey during the third century. Nikolaos
of Myra refused to worship the then Roman Emperor Diocletian, and was imprisoned until Emperor
Constantine freed the Christians five years later. He went on to show kindness and compassion by

Separation of Powers in the Commowealth
This doctrine was formulated by French philosopher Montesquieu who theorized that abuse of powers
by the three branches would be checked through separating the branches functionally and physically.
This means no branch should perform function of the other and no person can hold office
simultaneously in the branches.
However, there are instances where state courts have influences from the decisions of cases in the
Commonwealth courts. In the ruling made in the case Kable v Director of public prosecution1996 189
CLR51.This case forbid states court exceeding federal jurisdiction. Therefore, State Supreme courts
rely on decisions of federal courts and vice versa (Harris, 2013).
In the separation of powers there is the doctrine that courts cannot be vested with non judicial power
and federal judicial powers cannot be vested in a state court. It goes that if a court exercises non
judicial power, then separation of powers will be violated. The states do not have explicit separation of
powers in their respective constitutions. Parliament is able to vest judicial federal powers with non
judicial powers so long as they do not undermine their integrity. States courts can still exercise their
independence since they have some discretion in some matters.
Looking at the separation of powers in States such as Queensland, there are unique features.
Commonwealth Constitution confers separation of powers but States do not have constitutional
separation of powers. Influence of executive on

It grabbed my attention that Morrie has reached a thinking style, which differs from the concepts of
materialism that most people in this society believe in. He wondered why some people spend their
lives doing trivial things, such as chasing celebrities and making money only to spend it on things
void of any meaning. Morrie talked about the value of love among people and said, Love each other or
perish . In the end, Morrie began to cry. He did not cry because he was afraid of his inevitable death
but he cried because he did not cry when his mother passed and because his father died before he
could tell him that he loved him. Morrie s ideal day was not a day on the beach in Hawaii, but a day

government. People always want change, usually in the directions of freedom, peace and equality and
in the lead up to the 1917 Russian revolution; there were a variety of social, political and economic
situations that all played their part.
In the years leading up to the revolution, Russia had been involved in a series of wars. The Crimean
war, The Russo Turkish war, The Russo Japanese war and the First World War. Russia had been
defeated in all except the war with Turkey and its government and economy had the scars to prove it.

Petersburg was submitted to Nicholas II. A large group had formed in front of his palace and claimed
that they would let themselves be shot if the demands of the people were not met, saying, We do not
regret this sacrifice, we are glad to make it. Among the demands were: The immediate release of all
who have suffered for religious, political, and peasant disorders. Universal education financed by the
state. Equality for everyone. The separation of church and state. Immediate freedom for consumers
and trade unions. And the introduction of a minimum wage. It was the large number of these groups
and the constant in fighting amongst them that caused their strikes and protests to overthrow the Tsar
to fail.
The Tsar and his elite began to understand that change was required before they lost complete control.
By signing the October manifesto in 1905 Tsar Nicolas II turned Russia into a constitutional
monarchy, gave its citizens civil rights and gave the Duma, Russia s parliament legislative power. It
wasn t long before the 1905 revolution had died down, when Nicholas II disbanded the Duma and
violated many of the civil liberties promises in the October manifesto. As a result of the Tsar reneging
on his promises, by 1917 another revolution had begun, not only to highlight the lack food and civil
rights as in the 1905 revolution but also from the violations of the October manifesto. In March of
1917 workers in Petrograd went on strike. Unlike the protests of 1905, the

Case Study On Formative Assessment Practices
Formative assessment was first used by Scriven (1967), but studies focused on formative assessment
in ESL and EFL classes started in 2000. Among very few studies on formative assessment practices
includes the ones of Gattullo (2000) Ruiz‐Primo Furtak (2007), Pham (2012), Buyukkarci (2014) and
Wubshet Menuta (2015).
Gattullo (2000) conducted a case study on formative assessment in English language teaching
elementary classrooms in Italy. He observed four primary teachers performance in applying formative
assessment in their classroom. Gattullo focused on children classes and reported the methods used. He
adapted a formative assessment framework which consists of nine categories: Questioning/ eliciting,
correcting, judging, rewarding, observing, examining product, classifying, task criteria and meta
cognitive questioning. From that, he found that teachers use of ... Show more content on

The participants in the studies of Gattullo (2000), Pham (2012) and Buyukkarci (2014) are primary
school teachers while those in Ruiz‐Primo Furtak and Wubshet Menuta are teachers from secondary or
middle school. However, these studies are different in both scope and focus. Specifically, Gattullo
focused on formative strategies during instructions. Ruiz‐Primo Furtak stressed the assessment
procedures. Pham Buyukkarci highlighted the principles for developing a contextualized formative
assessment practice framework. In contrast, Wubshet Menuta emphasized the implication of formative
assessment practice in the classroom. The reasons for these differences are these studies are conducted
in different contexts and they serve different purposes. This makes a strong case for investigating EFL
teachers practices of formative assessment into some high schools in Vinh Long so that we can verify
the usefulness of formative assessment in teaching and

Story Of An Hour Character Analysis
In the short yet complex work The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, readers see a woman who goes
through a complete spectrum of emotions in the short span of an hour. When the main character learns
that her husband is dead, like most, she is shocked and utterly filled with grief. As the story continues,
a dramatic change takes place within the mind of the main character, Louise. Upon the conclusion of
her natural, wifely grief, she realizes that she is finally out from under the grasp of her husband and is
now a free woman in a time when men dominated life at home and the goings on of society. Through
his death, Louise finds the opportunity to be born again. Many of the emotions that the main character
goes through are depicted through the imagery of her constantly changing environment, and the author
specifically uses the architecture of her home as a main tool. In the story, the use of visual imagery
projects the rise and fall of the main character as her life transitions quickly back and forth. Through
an analysis of her characterization, these changes ultimately prove too much for her to handle. In
Chopin s The Story of an Hour, a character analysis can be performed based on the changes in her
environment compared to the changes in her life situation. The layout of the world around Louise is
used to show her initial grief, sudden realization of freedom, and her gateway to a new life free from
oppression of men. A wife who receives the unexpected news that her

History And Overview Of Google
History and Overview of Google In 1998, two Stanford students, Sergey Brin and Larry Page,
founded Google. Google s humble beginnings began in Page s dorm room as a search engine titled
Backrub (Hall Hosch, 2014). Search engines were initially made by other companies, however the
other search engines returned results by ranking the websites by the number of times a word or phrase
appeared on them. The founders of Google took this method a step further and designed a search
engine that would also check the number backing links this phrase had connected with it (Hall Hosch,
2014). Google was able to take a prior invention and rewrite how the main idea was formed, and they
continue to do this in their ideas today. In mid 1999, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, Google has branched out into services other than just the original Internet search engine.
In 2004, Google launched a free web based email accounted that was called Gmail. In 2005, a
mapping service, known as Google Earth, was released for public use. In 2006, Google branched out
into the online video industry by purchasing YouTube. Today, Google has had several other releases
such as Google Docs, Google Chrome, Chrome books, Google Plus, and android phone operating
software (Hall Hosch, 2014). Google had very humble beginnings, but great vision and innovative
thinking accompanied these humble beginnings. This company is now one of the most powerful and
successful companies today. This company is very young and shows great promise for growth,
advancement, and profitability. Google s business model is one to be looked at and modeled after.
Google s Philosophy There is no arguing that Google is one of the top, most successful corporations in
the world. The reason Google has had such great success is because of the philosophy on which the
corporation is founded upon and believe to be true. First, Google strongly believes if you focus on the
user than all else will follow. Whether they are designing a new Internet browser, making changes to
the homepage, or building new tools and applications, they make it a priority to ensure that they are
serving the user rather than just trying to accomplish their internal goals. Next,

Relationship Between Father And Fate In The Odyssey
Father and Son Relationships Determine Fate and Destiny The Odyssey, by Homer, is one of the most
influential texts of Western literature and it is paralleled to The Aeneid, by Virgil. Father and son
relationships are very important to Greek culture, as evident in the relationship between Odysseus and
Telémakhos in The Odyssey. Hundreds of years after The Odyssey was transcribed, Virgil continued
to recognize the importance of the father and son relationship and he incorporated it into The Aeneid
by focusing on Anchises and Aeneas. Both epics revolve around and delve into the valued father and
son relationship. This relationship is so important to Greek and Roman culture that it has an effect on
the idea of fate and destiny. Throughout The Odyssey and The Aeneid, the relationship between the
father and son is responsible for determining their fate and destiny.
The fate of Odysseus and Anchises is thoroughly influenced by their respective sons. Throughout
Odysseus s journey, Odysseus wants to give up because of all the hardships he has to face. His son,
Telémakhos, serves as his motivation for coming home and drives his will to live and fight his
hardships at sea. At one point, Odysseus considers giving up so he will not need to face the sea raging/
under such winds anymore (Homer 5.314 315). In spite of his moment of weakness, he continues to
fight for his destiny of homecoming to reunite with his son. Telémakhos encourages Odysseus to
achieve his destiny. Likewise,

The And Of The Metal Ammonia
The rapid decreases in 5V as TMD, FeSc or host material is added to the metal ammonia,
10 suggest that the fraction of solvated electron is radiply decreasing. This means that these free
solvated electrons started to immigrant to host samples valence band or fermi band(see section 2.3.1)
after that the guest spicies are nestled in the centers of the crystal structure of host spicies. The
intercalation of metal ammonia (if this clari cation is correct) enhances the lattice match, thereby
advancing the intercalation process. To enhance the lattice match, the ions size of guest material and
the d spacing or c0 of host guets should be proportional to each others. Thus, the rst one(ioniserted
guest material) should be smaller than the later one, host material. Ions size may be larger or smaller
than the neutral atom, contin gent upon the ion s charge.
At the point when an atom loses an electron to edge a cation, the lost electron no more contributes to
shielding other electrons from the charge of the core; thus, alternate electrons are all the more rmly
pulled in to the core, and the diameter of the ion decreases. So also, when an electron is added to an
atom, framing an anion, the added electron shields alter nate electrons from the nucleus, with the
outcome that the extent of the atom increments[7].
In this report, the ion s size was estimated by using X ray s data and table 2 in section 2.3 con rms the
values of di erent guest samples.

How Kitchenaid Is An American Home Appliance Brand Owned...
When you come home for the holidays, Mom is in the kitchen baking all the festive goodies. Chances
are she has her KitchenAid Mixer pulled out of the cupboard and is in the middle of dumping all the
delicious ingredients into it to create the perfect pie. KitchenAid is an American home appliance brand
owned by Whirlpool Corporation. The company was started in 1919 by The Hobart Corporation to
produce stand mixers. An entire kitchen of high performance appliances were created all with the
same attention to detail, quality craftsmanship, versatile technology and design. The KitchenAid
Mixer has turned into a timeless classic. It still remains the Cadillac, or BMW, of food preparation
appliances. The KitchenAid story begins when Herbert Johnson, he was an engineer at the Hobart
Corporation. Herbert observed a baker hard at work, mixing his bread by hand, and then he has the
idea and decided that there must be a better way. They introduced an 80 quart commercial baking
dough mixer in 1915 on which he had worked since 1908. He set out to develop an automatic mixer
and in 1914, Hobart released the 60 quart industrial H5. The H5 eventually made its way into every
ship kitchen in the US Navy. They then introduced a 65 pound domestic version in 1919, named the
Model H the KitchenAid when a housewife tester commented, I don t care what you call it, but I know
it s the best kitchen aid I have ever had. It was sold door to door for $189 and was on the market until

The Theory Of Deconstruction And Its Impact On Postmodern...

1. Deconstructionism
Deconstructionism developed in late 1980s by postmodern architecture. The core theory is

deconstruction speak of was Jacques Derrida in 1920s, after that a lot of architect influenced by him,

not as popular as the Russia s structuralism in 1920 s, the Dutch style in 1918 1928, or the German
Bauhaus design academic style in 1919 1933. Those styles become the source of a movement with no
more modernism, internationalism design that decade of power control design on the trend. However,

Mary Jane Argumentative Essay
Many researchers and voters believe Mary Jane will cause Californian students academic performance
to decline if marijuana becomes legalized; however, some do not accept this theory. While Mary Jane
is constantly put down, new sources have proven that since the legalization of cannabis, teenagers
have not increased their use of medical marijuana (Borchardt). One of the biggest worries about
legalized medical marijuana was that teenagers would smoke more pot, but it turns out those fears
were wrong (Borchardt). Since the legalization, the unincreased use of marijuana has not affected the
academic performance of students. On a report from a National Survey on Drug Use, says other
sources believe that the use of marijuana is increasing, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the upcoming vote on California Proposition 64, what will happen to the students academic
lives? While some researchers believe that the students IQ and test scores will not be affected, the
research obtained by the article, Will My Teen s Marijuana Use Affect His School Performance? ,
proves that Mary Jane will cause the loss of memories and lack of concentration she creates ( Will My
Teens Marijuana Use Affect His High School Performance ). While authors like Ingraham try to state
that marijuana levels are decreasing, other evidence shows that 1,200 freshman college students who
used marijuana spent more time getting high than studying or being in class (Schick). With the
overuse of the drug, students IQ can drop up to eight points (Schick). Under the legalization of Mary
Jane , students time spent with her and their academic performance decreased rapidly ( The
Legalization of Marijuana in Colorado: the Impact ). Also, with a student s IQ reflecting on their
academic performance, the study from Duke University found that marijuana can discursively cause a
student s academic performance to deteriorate (Neighmond). As well as academic performance, Mary
Jane also has a psychological effect on the students as well; things such as loss of confidence and
motivation to sustain high achieving goals play a factor into why Mary should not be

A Long Link Of Barricaded Police Struggles
A long link of barricaded police struggles to hold the throng in place away from the bank. Open the
doors! the crowd shouts as they propel themselves to split the links; the police sustain them back like a
stretching elastic rope. A common scene in the 1890s, citizens confronting banks for their money
though banks had none. We want our money! The poor citizens shout out in unison. Major economic
recessions of the 1890s, notably the panic of 1893, was heralded by cycles of disbeliefs that
destabilized public confidence and weakened the nation. Prominent historians of the website
ushistory.com argue that one response to the failures was an expansion in business associations.
However, they also showed that; the poorer elements of society assumed they had been ignored during
the hard times and then were left at the mercy of the trusts. (1) In reality, the same historians declare;
the reform efforts of the last quarter of the 19th century had not been sufficient; new leadership was
needed for the next century. This leadership ascended from the National Association of Manufactures
(NAM), initiated in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1895. Already affirmed, The United States was in the middle
of the recessions. Scores of the country s manufacturers wanted to export their products in other
countries. One of the NAM s endeavors was to call for the establishment of the U.S. Department of
Commerce (CC). Initially, NAM lead the attack on labor organization and government regulation.

Yellow Fever Disease
Yellow fever is a disease caused by a virus transmitted by mosquitoes. It is a disease that is mostly
found in tropical areas like South America and Africa (Cutter 2016). While scientific inquiry was
certainly one of the main reasons that yellow fever became one of the first viruses that we were able to
eradicate, it was not the only driving force. A biosocial approach to dissecting global health issues not
only takes into account all the biological aspects that come into play, but also how society, history,
culture and the political economy impact these global diseases (Farmer et al. 2013). This approach
allows for a multidimensional analysis that gives more insight than any biological or clinical study
ever could. By looking at yellow fever from a biosocial approach you can see how the Panama Canal

In order to reap the economic and international trade benefits brought about by the Canal there first
had to be an interaction and exchange of ideas and technology between people and governments of
different nations all working as one by breaking down the national, economic, social and cultural
boundaries that were in the way (Levin Institute 2015). The economic benefits that convince the US to
tackle yellow fever ultimately ended up advancing global health as well. The Panama Canal project
brought to life the first international health organization, the Pan American Health Organization,
which is still very important today. The PAHO has been able to standardize disease definitions and
serves as a model for transnational health promotion and information sharing (Farmer et al. 2013).
After the establishment of the PAHO with the help of new political policies from around the world,
new international health organizations were formed in order to address global health issues in different

  • 2. The Importance Of Small Business In America Small businesses in America have existed since civilizations first settled, whether people traded goods in the place of currency, or offered services and talents for money. Over the past 100 years, the small businesses and entrepreneurs of America have evolved in ways no one could have predicted. From the invention of the internet to the sliding scale that is the American economy, small businesses have seen their times of great success and struggle alike. With the changing culture, obstacles may morph into opportunities, and, conversely, opportunities can turn into obstacles. The presence of social media is an opportunity for businesses today but an obstacle for businesses of the early 20th century; demand was an opportunity for business owners in the 20th century but an obstacle today; and economic fluctuation is an obstacle found in both time periods. Unlike small businesses in the early 20th century, small businesses today can greatly benefit from social media platforms. Not only can businesses run their own pages online, they can pay for ads that promote their product in a unique and novel way. For example, social media can allow a smaller business to grow on their chosen platform (such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and increase the amount of potential customers that view their product(s) or service(s). Everyday, there is an abundance of advertisements uploaded and viewed on several varieties of social media platforms and [b]ehind these staggering numbers is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Relationship Between Admissions Committee And The... Outline: Introduction Relationship between Admissions Committee and the composition of lawyers in the community. Law school admissions plays an active role in shaping the future of the legal profession, as the composition of the legal profession has been largely determined by Law School Admissions Committees. The legal system reflects the cultural, social, and economic views of legally trained individuals. The types of individuals who receive formal legal training shape the legal system through their values, personal experiences, and identity. Since the legal system reflects the cultural, social, and economic views of legally trained individuals, and is intended to benefit all members of society , the admissions process has the greatest impact on the composition of the student body , and arguably, the legal system as a whole. Admissions Criteria 1. Historically Traditionally, legal education has been accessible only to majority social groups in Canada. In relying on GPA and LSAT score, the student population was primarily young, upper middle class, unvaried in ethnicity, and unrepresentative of Canada as a whole. 2. More Modern Approach Law school admissions committees have adopted the simultaneous use of three admission categories: regular category, special admission, and First Nations categories. The regular category relies on objective data through statistical manipulation of LSAT and GPA data, and is the predominantly used method by admissions ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Summary Of Matthew Condon s Brisbane Brisbane Brisbane deals with history, childhood and growing up. Matthew Condon s Brisbane is obsessed with time and timelessness, it uses childhood experiences (both his and his sons) to attempt to connect the past to the present. Condon continuously refers to himself feeling events and people of the past; people often refer to this book as being nostalgic but Condon s writing seem to suggest more than that. And you really live by the river? What a jolly life! By it and with it and on it and in it, said the rat. It s brother and sister to me, and aunts, and company, and food and drink, and (naturally) washing. It s my world, and I don t want any other. • 6. The Process Of Making Flour Essay Today, grain are collecting and threshing by harvesting machines with large headers to put it in a grain wagon in order to transfer it to be stored (see Fig. 2). Making flour process is one of the most important steps before bread making that is obtained by grinding the seeds in a very huge milling machine (see Fig. 3). The process of making bread starts with collecting the ingredients like sugar, flour, milk, malt, salt and storing them in storage. Certain types of Lorries carry flour from which different types of bread are made of. Later on, it is put into containers that are found in a separate place taking the form of a tower. Other ingredients are left in the storage area (see Fig. 4). Special dough kneading machine that is provided with a powerful double screw is utilized in kneading process. While the ingredients are mixing together, the machine starts from a low to a high speed. The dough became ready during five minutes before transporting it to the next place where it is proportioned (see Fig. 5). Many people are unaware of the harsh truth that, specifically, Native Indians of the land faced as a result of migration and colonization by Spaniards and settlers. Such migration and colonization lead to the piñata effect, a concept developed by Dr. Daniel Cady, professor at CSU Fresno, meaning that as people grow, resources shrink which leads to arguments and conflict, commenced and became the basis of the formation of what California is today. • 9. Iago s Manipulative Nature in Shakespeare s Othello Essays Iago s Manipulative Nature in Othello Iago s manipulative nature has a profound effect on the decisions made by other characters in Shakespeare s Othello . Through his relations with those around him Shakespear characterizes him as a man full of malice, vengeance and dishonesty that is wholly inspired by jealousy. Furthermore it would appear that Iago has an exceptional ability to scheme, a talent which he uses to snake his way into the lives of others and exploit them through their weaknesses. Whether he does this for profit or for pleasure is a separate issue. Throughout the course of the play, Iago crosses the path of each major character we encounter. Though his effect varies according to characters, he is a presence in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Act I. iii. 393 395). In this way, Iago finds Rodrigo s soft spot and uses it to his advantage, that being his interest in Desdemona in order to gain more useful information. Thus we can see the way in which Iago holds on to this information and twists its innocence for his gain. Othello is the character with whom most of Iago s methods have success. His weakness as a jealous lover is apparent early on, but only after Iago s has planted the seeds of doubt within his mind. Such is Othello s trust for Iago that he uses the misnomer of describing Iago as honest Iago and irony considering the action held within the play. The trust is obvious and implicit and thoroughly entrenched within the language. Othello surmises on the aforementioned doubts during the last act of the play when he says; ...speak of me as I am... Then must you speak of one that loved not wisely, but too well... (Othello. Act IV. ii. 402 404). By taking advantage of this fact, he is able to kill two birds with one stone. Iago feeds on Othello s jealousy by setting Casio up to look like he is conducting an extra marital affair with Desdemona, refuting Othello s initial denial. However, eventually, Iago has Othello so angered that he accepts Iago s offer to kill Cassio for him. And for Cassio, let me be his undertaker. You shall hear more by midnight. (Othello. Act IV. i. 230 231.) This manipulation in character from someone who we sympathy with, to someone who

What we have discovered is that a deviant can be a negative or a positive reaction in your life. Deviant is a broad subject. Some of its focus is on social rules, politics, locations and activities you do or talents that you have. In the observation paper, we will be discussing what makes you an insider or an outsider. How is it related to deviants, is it related to race, gender, actions, or skilled levels? Are these thinks useful to fix in every day society. I personally am not the type of person that just goes out and talks to strangers, unless I noticed them being quiet and distant from the environment. Being a military kid I have personally experienced and knowledge on how to go out there and try new things, but field work was a bit different. When I travel to different countries I know I m not the only tourist, but when trying new things where you re not new to the country it gives you the feeling like you re under a magnifying glass, which can feel a bit awkward. • 12. Cheating Is Not A New Conversation Cheating is not a new conversation when it comes to sports. There are several forms of cheating such as shaving points, using performance enhancement drugs, or sports betting. The formal definition of cheating is to act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, especially in a game or examination, (Merriam Webster dictionary). When it comes to college sports, it is easy for a player to be persuaded to shave a few points for money. A typical question asked about sports is what happens if a team or player is caught cheating? Cheating is widespread it just depends on if the team or player gets caught. Recent examples of the cheating culture in sport includes Bill Belichick, coach of the New England Patriots, directing his staff to videotape the defensive signals of the New York Jets and athletes in 10 sports at Florida State University cheating on their academic work, (Lumpkin, 2011, p. 2). With cheating being so widespread, the real reason to play sports seems to be lost in all the chaos of winning. Cheating in sports is such an intriguing topic. Personally, this topic is interesting to me because sports are a part of my life and whenever someone cheats just to win, I always wonder why they would do such a thing. I understand that cheating happens in every level of sport. But what if everyone is cheating? These questions are the reasons this topic is important to me. In addition, how will we remember these athletes if they are labeled cheaters for the rest of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Everyone congregates on the porch or dock snacking and sipping at hot coffee. An early pontoon ride gets the day started. Upon return the kids flee to the cottage changing into their bathing suits, which is followed by racing down the hill towards the warm lake waters. This is a place where waves lap at the shore like a parched dog at water. Where the air smells quite fishy, but no one seems to mind. Seagulls kaw at each other, neighbors wave politely, and children squeal with delight in the shallows. We all laugh and talk merrily, boats rides fill up the day; only stopping for replenishments. While on a bird watching trip, many people bring a pair of binoculars or a telescope, sometimes even a bird guide. These bird guides will help you to spot and know what certain bird species are. Although the majority of bird watchers are pretty well informed, a guide confirm identification of birds spotted, and helps birders who may be traveling in land they haven t explored before. Many bird watchers have a bird watching life list , which is a paper that they carry around that helps them to keep up with the birds they have seen and the birds they haven t seen yet. Also, a sound recorder would be helpful. Since it can be hard to identify some types of birds, you could record what you hear and play it back later for identification by an expert. Extra gear that a bird watcher may find to need include heavy weight boots for different land they aren t used to and layered clothes to help deal with the changing weather. As for Florida, it s thought of as a birdwatcher s paradise. The perfectly mild weather, location and diverse surroundings attract over 470 different species of birds. Parents may brave the line stretching down the mall so their child can tell Father Christmas, or Santa Claus, what he or she wishes to unwrap on Christmas morning. Evidence gathered by these studies may suggest a benefit for youth. Children should have the opportunity to believe in Santa Claus because it enhances creativity and can improve mental health, shows young individuals an example of giving without expecting anything in return, and when the time comes, forces kids to distinguish the difference between fantasy and reality. Fraser (2015) found that the individual whose story inspired the mythical Santa, also known as Saint Nicholas, originates from a bishop living in Turkey during the third century. Therefore, State Supreme courts rely on decisions of federal courts and vice versa (Harris, 2013). In the separation of powers there is the doctrine that courts cannot be vested with non judicial power and federal judicial powers cannot be vested in a state court. It goes that if a court exercises non judicial power, then separation of powers will be violated. The states do not have explicit separation of powers in their respective constitutions. Parliament is able to vest judicial federal powers with non judicial powers so long as they do not undermine their integrity. Story Of An Hour Character Analysis In the short yet complex work The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, readers see a woman who goes through a complete spectrum of emotions in the short span of an hour. When the main character learns that her husband is dead, like most, she is shocked and utterly filled with grief. As the story continues, a dramatic change takes place within the mind of the main character, Louise. Upon the conclusion of her natural, wifely grief, she realizes that she is finally out from under the grasp of her husband and is now a free woman in a time when men dominated life at home and the goings on of society. Through his death, Louise finds the opportunity to be born again. Many of the emotions that the main character goes through are depicted through the imagery of her constantly changing environment, and the author specifically uses the architecture of her home as a main tool. In the story, the use of visual imagery projects the rise and fall of the main character as her life transitions quickly back and forth. Through an analysis of her characterization, these changes ultimately prove too much for her to handle. In Chopin s The Story of an Hour, a character analysis can be performed based on the changes in her environment compared to the changes in her life situation. Relationship Between Father And Fate In The Odyssey Father and Son Relationships Determine Fate and Destiny The Odyssey, by Homer, is one of the most influential texts of Western literature and it is paralleled to The Aeneid, by Virgil. Father and son relationships are very important to Greek culture, as evident in the relationship between Odysseus and Telémakhos in The Odyssey. Hundreds of years after The Odyssey was transcribed, Virgil continued to recognize the importance of the father and son relationship and he incorporated it into The Aeneid by focusing on Anchises and Aeneas. Both epics revolve around and delve into the valued father and son relationship. This relationship is so important to Greek and Roman culture that it has an effect on the idea of fate and destiny. Throughout The Odyssey and The Aeneid, the relationship between the father and son is responsible for determining their fate and destiny. The fate of Odysseus and Anchises is thoroughly influenced by their respective sons. Throughout Odysseus s journey, Odysseus wants to give up because of all the hardships he has to face. His son, Telémakhos, serves as his motivation for coming home and drives his will to live and fight his hardships at sea. At one point, Odysseus considers giving up so he will not need to face the sea raging/ under such winds anymore (Homer 5.314 315). This means that these free solvated electrons started to immigrant to host samples valence band or fermi band(see section 2.3.1) after that the guest spicies are nestled in the centers of the crystal structure of host spicies. The intercalation of metal ammonia (if this clari cation is correct) enhances the lattice match, thereby advancing the intercalation process. To enhance the lattice match, the ions size of guest material and the d spacing or c0 of host guets should be proportional to each others.
