Unit 1 Task 3 Understand legislation, policies and procedures for confidentiality and sharing
information including data protection. Why it is important to reassure children, young people and
adults about confidentiality and why it may need to be breached. For the home country England there
are many policies and procedures within the legislation that relate to safeguarding human rights, data
protection and confidentiality. These have been refined into every school policy and procedures such
as the human rights act 1998/2004, children act 1989/2004 and the data protection act 1998. Purpose

undergo a CRB check before employment commences. The forms are filled out by the person seeking

Confidentiality applies to the children act in many ways it protects children and young peoples
information from being put into the wrong hands although the children act does state that the person
can obtain the information being held themselves as because of data protection you have the right to
access your own files. By not sharing details to where they live, surnames and dates of births etc to

looking for a child or family who can be abused. This is information that can be used to obtain false
information by having personal details such as health information, medication, whether or not the
child is in care, or under the care of social services. The point is children are people to who need extra

The Roman Of Roman Empire Essay
The Roman scutum was a large body shield used in battles, sieges, and gladiator fights. The scutum
was used from the early Roman Republic until the third century CE and helped to define many of the
Roman battle tactics that made them so successful. The curved, semi cylindrical design provided full
body protection and was especially used in the testudo formation during sieges. The Roman Scutum is
a perfect example of the military genius of the Roman Legion.
The Roman Empire was created from the Roman Republic and became a huge part of Western Europe.
Considered the most advanced of its time, the powerful Roman Army dominated the Western world
for more than a thousand years due to its size and organization. Warfare was an important way of life
in both the Republic and the Empire. Rome greatly benefitted from the riches brought back from
conquered territories. The Romans believed themselves to be descendents of the war god Mars and
also believed in the superiority of their culture.
The power of the Roman military came from the professionalism of their heavy infantry. They were
highly adaptable, borrowing ideas from outsiders. They changed their tactics, formations, and even
their armor to fit the terrain or the enemy. They were also well disciplined. All troops swore an oath of
allegiance, known as the sacramentum, to the emperor himself. This loyalty and discipline resulted in
many victories on the battlefield. The Roman army used a system of rewards and

Technology In Education
Technologies role
We are living in a country that is called a technologically civilized society. The use of the Internet has
not changed the way that we think but it is making unique contributions in classrooms by providing us
with immediate and convenient access to an extraordinary amount of ideas and information. In the
world that we currently live in, technology is a very vital factor . Today most people are more familiar
with the gadget they carry in their backpack or even in their pocket; which is technically advanced.
Every other day a new software device is being brought into the marketplace that helps to improve our
knowledge in and out of school. in one way, the internet provides a much easier opportunity in
education for student everywhere with access to all kinds of books available at any time. However, it
is important to note that despite the fact that technology plays a big role in making our school lives
much easier, it is not the only role it has. The internet seems to be impairing our ability to focus and to
think deeply on any subject. The more technology continues to grow, the more improvement it
provides in education level for certain students while for others it has a very different effect in the way
we read and take in information. Furthermore, I will be discussing both pros and cons of the way
technology is used in and out of our schools today.

Tiger Moms Competitiveness In Schools
Today, many children attending public schools in high achieving districts feel pressured to do
extremely well in academics because of competition from many of their peers being raised by tiger
moms. The competitiveness in these schools are putting a strenuous amount of pressure on kids who
are already overexerting themselves and this can lead to mental instability and suicide. It has gotten to
a point where one school district in Princeton, New Jersey has to limit the amount of extra classes and
homework given at the schools due to competitiveness of the mostly Asian children and their tiger
moms. When children s safety is at stake, nothing else is more important. One fourth grader attending
the district said I m not going to amount to anything

The Major Causes Of The Agricultural Revolution
The Agricultural Revolution began as an idea of how to organize fields known as the enclosure system
to substantially produce food. Because of their colonies in the Americas, the British thrived on new
types of food brought from across the Pacific. Additionally, new technologies such as the ****
furthered the productivity of food production. After the influx of new machinery, food types, and the
enclosure system, Great Britain was able to provide more food for its people which both increased the
population while the amount of labor decreased and lowered the cost of food.
A major effect of the Agricultural Revolution was the cultivation of more food and how the cost of
food lowered. This is due to the way in which the cost of food went down. After this increase of
spending money, people of all classes in Europe were able to afford finer things, such as clothing
which is particularly accentuated in document 7. The statistics in Document 2 depict an increase of the
amount of food and productivity of fields in Britain particularly from 1650 1850. The Agricultural
Revolution lasted from the mid sixteenth to late eighteenth century, supporting the statistics. Clearly,
the amount of money acquired from producing food increased significantly and for a longer period of
time, proving that there was a larger amount of food. In document 3, and author named Arthur Young
described in detail the number of potatoes and other types of food being grown in Ireland. Not only

Antisocial Personality Disorder
Antisocial Personality Disorder is a psychological disorder in which an individual s way of thinking
and way of relating to others is dysfunctional and destructive. People with antisocial personality
disorder usually have no regard for right and wrong and often disregard the rights and feelings of
others (Mayo Clinic 1). They tend to antagonize and manipulate others for pleasure or personal benefit
and often violate the law and end up in trouble most of the time, but show no remorse or regret for
their actions. Some examples of the type of people with this disorder can include serial killers and
politicians.
Antisocial Personality Disorder symptoms may begin in childhood and become fully evident for most
people during their 20s and 30s. In children, cruelty to animals, bullying behavior, social isolation, and
poor school performance may be early signs of the disorder. Most of the people diagnosed with
antisocial personality disorder show symptoms that violate the rights of others. The Diagnostic and
Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) states all the possible symptoms of the disorder:
These individuals tend to fail to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors by
performing acts that result in arrest. They are also masters of deception because they lie repeatedly by
using aliases or by conning others for personal profit or pleasure. They rarely plan and act on impulse
when they perform their actions. They also become very irritable and aggressive,

Finishing My Education Debt Free
Finishing My Education Debt Free
(An analysis of the financial obstacles I will encounter in college and how I will overcome them)
College. Merriam Webster dictionary defines it as an institution offering instruction usually in a
professional, vocational, or technical field, but if you ask most of the students who are attending a
college right now, they may define it as a four to eight year money sucking hole. College is one of the
most expensive, and most important, things that you will ever put your money into. The average cost
of a four year degree is ten to twenty thousand dollars. Schooling beyond those four years can be as
expensive as up to thirty thousand dollars a year, based on the kind of degree you are working for.

The first and most important way that I am going to approach college without finishing with an
enormous amount of debt is earning scholarships. I have been constantly applying for every
scholarship that is available. I am a part of many different websites that alert me on what scholarships
are available in my area. All of the scholarships that I win will hopefully earn me enough money to at
least cover my tuition, and hopefully my room and board. I am applying for scholarships that have to
do with music, theatre, and my academics. I will have to accomplish many things throughout college
to maintain these scholarships, but it will all be worth it when I am able to accomplish my schooling
without any major debts. Working through school is the next way that I am going to earn money so
that I can finish my schooling without an enormous pile of debt. I will work a job or possibly even two
jobs to help pay my personal expenses and my transportation expenses. Hopefully, I will receive
enough scholarships that I won t have to work more than one job to keep up with my expenses. The
job, or jobs, that I do work will have to be flexible to work around my class and extra curricular
activities. I hope to get a job that has some type of benefit so that I can also have any of those benefits,

chemistry lab paper sherlock holmes experiment
Our objective for the Sherlock Holmes Experiment was to illustrate that some chemicals can be
identified or differentiated by simple chemical tests, such as solubility, pH, or color tests. In our group
we had to test come common powders such as Alka Seltzer, baking soda, flour, Vitamin C (ascorbic
acid), and salt. Other chemicals that were used to do this experiment were vinegar, and Iodine 2
Solution. The equipment used to do this experiment was red litmus paper, and 5 test tubes per group.
After all materials were gathered, we then had to do five different tests to determine what the powder
material does. The first test was to see what the powder materials do in water. We had to add a scoop
of each of the common powders to an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Vitamin C turned to a red/orange color with no physical/chemical reaction. For the salt the
solution turned to an orange color with no physical/chemical reaction. With the Alka Seltzer, the
solution turned to a brown color with no reaction as well. Last but not least, the Baking soda turned to
an orange/brown color with no reaction.
In the last test, we had to test out a mystery powder (powder A, B, C), in its own separate test tube, in
order to solve the Sherlock Holmes Mystery. Our group had powder C. When we mixed water in the
mystery powder, it did not dissolve. When the litmus paper was put into the test tube it turned blue.
When the vinegar was mixed it bubbled/foamed up. When we mixed the iodine solution, there was no
reaction and the solution turned to a dark brown/black color. When we mixed in the baking soda there
was no reaction and it turned to an even darker color. In conclusion, after we had tested the mystery
powder, we had to solve the mystery of who stole Jamal Jackson s iPad. There were four suspects
which were, Ruby, Ima, Manly, and Beau, who were seen at the time the iPad disappeared. I then
cancelled out all the common powders that had no comparison to the mystery powder. The flour,
vitamin C, and salt did not have any comparison which left only the Alka Seltzer and the baking soda.
The comparisons of the Alka Seltzer and the baking soda were very similar. They were just about the
same as the mystery powder. So I then

The Latin America Debt Crisis
The Latin America debt crisis
What Happened
Both internal and external for Latin Americas roller coaster economic performance in what was
known as the crisis. During the 50 s and 60 s there was favorable conditions in place to maintain
steady employment creation, capital investment and overall economic expansion. But this period
ended in 1973 amid the first world oil crisis rocked the world economy and caused an era of debt led
growth among the oil importing Latin America countries. Latin American countries were hit by a slow
down in economic growth. The import bill in these nations sky rocketed and exports saw a massive
slump as demand for Latin American products fell abruptly as the world economy slowed down.

The governments limited their costs by slashing social spending; education, health, social services,
etc.., devaluing the national currency via lowering export earnings and increasing import costs,
creating strict limits on food subsidies, cutting workers jobs and wages, taking over small subsistence
farms for large scale export crop farming and promoting the privatization of public industries. Most
countries suffered a recession and often depression; and the poorest of the poor were most affected. As
Latin America s economies stagnated, per capita income plummeted, poverty increased, and the
already wide gap between the rich and the poor widened further. The debt crisis seriously eroded
whatever gains had been made in reducing poverty through improved social welfare measures over the
booms of the 60 s and early 70 s. Poverty grew 50 percent; malnutrition 40 percent; children were
increasingly recruited into the drug trade and prostitution; long term unemployment and its adverse
social effects increased; the weakening of local communities and the growth of crime and an epidemic
of homicides, are but a few of the many dilemmas that the debt crisis caused.

5. Company s competitive strategy in entry level cameras
Fast and Furious will employ a global low cost leadership strategy and pursue a competitive advantage
by having lower costs and selling entry level cameras at low prices relative to rivals. We designed our
cameras with basic features and mid level product enhancements, to produce a two star level product.
Some of these specifications include 8mm image sensors, 230k pixel lcd display screens, 2704x1520
pix image quality, etc. By producing a lower quality camera, we were able to manufacture and sell our
product at a lower cost. This allowed us to gain a competitive advantage and outsell our competitors

Similar to our cameras, we designed our drones with basic features and mid level product
enhancements, to produce a two point two star level product. Some of these specifications include
front and rear obstacle sensors, 6 rotors, and an 8 minute battery pack, etc. By producing only three
models of low quality drones, we were able to manufacture and sell our product at a lower cost. We
produced our drone for $460.85 and sold it for $1150 to $1550. Similar to our cameras, we invested in
research and development, longer warranties, and retailer support/recruitment. Furthermore, our
investment in our website product displays and info increased in all regions over the years as we
realized a rise in e commerce for UAV drones, and reacted in order to remain competitive. Our
business strategy and operations varied globally considerably more than it did for our entry level
cameras. Since we had the lowest market share in North America, we invested a large amount of our
marketing efforts in this region. However, consumers in this region were willing to pay more for our
product, and our profit margin was highest in this region (56.9%). Our investment in search engine
advertising was also significantly higher in this region because North Americans are highly engaged
with search engines. Buyers of UAV Drones in Latin America and the Asia Pacific regions are the
most sensitive to price differences across brands, so we balanced factors like quality, profit, and
competition in order to create the ideal selling price. As a result of this, we also offered high discounts
for third party retailers in Asian pacific and Latin America, 20% and 25% respectively, which was
more than double the discount offered in North America and

Prenatal Human Development
The creation of a human being is a miraculous process. When many people hear human development,
they tend to think about infancy or adolescent years when kids go through puberty, but the most
amazing developmental processes take place in the prenatal stage. The amount of growth and change
that occurs during the nine month gestational period is almost incomprehensible. Prenatal
development is broken down into three stages, the Germinal stage, the Embryonic Stage, and the Fetal
stage. This paper will mainly focus on the embryonic stage because there is a vast amount of crucial
development that happens during this period. The embryonic stage is also exciting because it is during
this stage that the mass of cells that are supposed to be a human, starts to actually resemble a baby.
The embryonic stage begins two weeks after conception, after implantation has taken place, and lasts
until week eight. During this time, some body structure begins to appear and by week eight, the
embryo has all basic organs and body parts. They are all very fragile and ... Show more content on

teratogens. Teratogens are any harmful substances, such as drugs or toxins, or conditions, such as

exposure and the amount of exposure are key factors in teratogens affecting the embryo. The embryo
could also have a genetic disadvantage and be more vulnerable to teratogens or certain biological

takes place. By the end of the embryonic stage, the embryo is about a gram in weight and one inch in

The poem Darkness by Lord Byron (George Gordon) talks about how the world is going to shut down
and the struggles they go through. The author talks about nature, social, and of course supernatural
elements. This poem was written during the Romanism period. He starts off with a dream about the
world shutting off. It s reality but it is actually a dream, more like a vision. The author swift s through
the ways they are struggling and how they are hoping for light to restore. The author s depressing tone
overshadows the struggles that they re going through. In line one, the speaker immediately begins with

The Benefits of Attending a Community College Essay example
A look back at the institution of education over the past 20 years will reveal that once upon a time a
bachelor s degree was long since considered the marker of ultimate success, the highest level of
achievement that one could make in their lives. In those days, if for some reason you failed to march
across the stage on graduation day after an epic, four year stretch of high tuition, long nights studying,
and unrelenting professors that found great joy in riding your back, then you had indeed failed at life.
Attendance at a technical college or local 2 year school was deplorably referenced to as loser s

By taking these steps, you are in complete control of your education and which directions it will turn
in. It will be forward moving rather than stalled and undecided, which can potentially lead to higher
bills as a direct result of your extended enrollment beyond the intended 2 year stay.
This is not the only way that you can save by going to a community college. Chances are a larger
university is not near your home. A school closer to home allows you to stay home and cut your bills
another way by eliminating room and board fees and transportation expenses. Driving across town and
maintaining your sometimes drastically lower living expenses sounds much better than the usurious
bill many find themselves incurring at a larger school miles away from home.
Build a Solid Work History
Now that more people are earning degrees than they did two decades ago, employers are requiring
applicants to have some type of experience listed on their resume if they expect serious consideration
of their resume. In the past, all one needed was a crisp degree, bright and shiny, to hand over to a
prospective employer to get on a desired company in your respective field. Those days are gone. To be
competitive in today s job market, with longevity, you must have referenced experience from someone
of power to vouch for your basic job

Research Paper On Slam Poetry
Slam poetry
Slam poetry is one of the many forms of art where people express their feelings by writing them down
and sharing them with other people. In 1984 Smith a constuction worker was hosting poetry reading in
a jazz club in Chicago. Mac made up a gimmick to bring life to his open mic formal; his idea was to
match up poets against each other as in a fight. It was in 1986 when slam poetry was born and has
been going on ever since. Accoding to the Oxford dictionary (1994 : 194) slam poetry is a competition
where poets read, recite, and perform original work alone or as a team before an audience who act as
judges they are judged at a scale of 0 10.
The following essay is about slam poetry and will provide a brief biography on Maya Wegerif a South

Models of Corrections Essay
The history of correctional thought and practice has been marked by enthusiasm for new approaches,
disillusionment with these approaches, and then substitution of yet other tactics (Clear 59). During the
mid 1900s, many changes came about for the system of corrections in America. Once a new idea goes
sour, a new one replaces it. Prisons shifted their focus from the punishment of offenders to the
rehabilitation of offenders, then to the reentry into society, and back to incarceration. As times and the
needs of the criminal justice system changed, new prison models were organized in hopes of lowering
the crime rates in America. The three major models of prisons that were developed were the medical,
model, the community model, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many criminals re offend after they are released because they were put back into society with no
money and no job and no place to live. Gradually allowing criminals to reenter society and helping
them to find jobs will put many on the right track. This program allows people a second chance and
the possibility to change their lives around. This program seems to be a necessity yet it will not work
for everyone. Not all criminals should be let out on the street again. Just because you give a murderer
a job and some money and secure them a place to stay, you have no idea whether they have the desire
to kill again . This program would work for those that were ready to reenter society and would be
extremely beneficial to those who have nothing on the outside to help them. The third aim at bettering
the system of corrections in America was the idea of the crime control model. The crime control
model was based on the assumption that criminal behavior can be controlled by more use of
incarceration and other forms of strict supervision (Clear 57). This new model was designed with the
intent to incarcerate prisoners for longer periods of time. Under this program the death penalty was
reinstated in thirty seven states. This model was thought to have worked best for violent offenders
such as drug dealers and murderers. It seems as though this program was created to scare people from
committing a crime because of the strict punishment that would occur.

unpredictable behavior, and difficulty speaking. Her condition continued to worsen and ultimately
lead to her death. After his patient died he examined her brain, where he discovered an excessive
amount of unusual clumps. This was the discovery of Alzheimer s disease, and although Dr. Alois
Alzheimer didn t know it at the time, his discovery would be one that uncovered a dangerous future
for millions of individuals around the world. Slow, frustrating, heartbreaking, tragic. These are words
commonly used when someone is asked what Alzheimer s disease is. With an estimated 5.3 million
Americans diagnosed with Alzheimer s every year, this disease ... Show more content on

It is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, and is the third leading cause of death for
Americans over the age of sixty five. Almost two thirds of all Alzheimer s patients are women, and
though it seems to be much more common in females than in males, no one has discovered why.
Those who are diagnosed with Alzheimer s experience an array of troubling symptoms. It usually
begins with the person forgetting their short term memory. Because Alzheimer s begins in the
hippocampus the learning part of the brain they may have trouble remembering names when they are
introduced to new people. In the second stage of Alzheimer s disease, patients can expect to be
disoriented at times, have sudden mood and behavior changes, and often develop suspicions about
their family, friends, or caregivers. During the end of this stage, they may also experience
hallucinations, delusions, and have extreme paranoia. During the third and final stage of Alzheimer s,
patients have difficulty speaking, walking, and swallowing. In this final stage, the brain shrinks to
about one fourth the size of a normal brain, and the person will most likely pass away. Those who
have been diagnosed with Alzheimer s disease are expected to live only about eight years after their
diagnosis, due to its progressive nature and worsening over

What Is The Rising Tide Of Nationalism In Trade
Responding to the Rising Tide of Nationalism in Trade: Evolving the Nation s Role to Make Trade
Great Again
21119851
University of Western Australia
I INTRODUCTION
A resurgence of rising nationalism in recent years has prompted a slew of trade protectionist policies
defending against the perceived threat to national sovereignty by trade globalisation. Recent trends in
trade demonstrate a shifting reliance towards bilateral agreements and regional trading while shrinking
away from multilateral participation. This implementation of nationalist trade protectionism has in
solitude served to corrode the openness, trade, and global growth which vitally fuel the national
interests which these ideologies seek to defend. While ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a matter of practice, nationalism frequently entails the implementation of policy which seeks to
reclaim national resources from foreign groups, and redistribute those resources to the nation s citizens
or government. This may be achieved through trade protectionism practices: where governments
intentionally safeguard domestic industry from foreign competition, usually through policy regulation
including tariffs or import quotas. By contrast, globalisation prioritises the exchange of goods and
services, the interaction of people, and the sharing of information and technology across nations as
enabled through domestic policy and international agreement. The prosperity of any nation is therefore
intertwined with the prosperity of others, creating an environment of the shared pursuit of national
interest, which fosters the sharing of success between nations through communal global growth.
B Modern Resurgence of Nationalism
The WTO has warned that the recent global increase in nationalism may threaten the global economy
more than any time in recent history, stating that as long as global economic weakness persists,
protectionist pressure will build and could eventually become overwhelming . As economic stagnation
continues, both dominant and emerging economies are now implementing policy designed to
safeguard against the employment losses, high ratio of capital outflow, and foreign exploitation which
threaten to undermine their national economic interests.

I Am Writing With The Healing Process
Briana, I am writing this with the hopes that I may find closer. That I can find peace of mind I have
failed to discover while exploring other avenues of the healing process. Although I intend to send this
to you, I have no expectation of a reply. This is not an attempt to convince you of anything. You are
too intelligent and to stubborn to be persuaded by any words that I may extract from my head. What I
write is what I know or feel. I do not claim to understand what you are going through. Nothing that I
write is meant to hurt you or cause you any stress. My words are only an expression of my own
thoughts and feelings. As I have told you many times, I love you, and I probably always will. Brief as
our relationship was, the connection to you that I formed still holds strong. I still feel as though you
were struggling to convince yourself that you were over me. A struggle that I believe you are still
dealing with. This connection is what drove my actions for the past several weeks. It is why I have
held on so tight to a chance that we might come back to each other. It is why I was so willing to look
past all of the things that should have made me angry. It is why I am working towards forgiveness
now. In the stating that I am working towards forgiveness, I am not accusing you of any malicious
acts. We were not together, therefore I cannot and will not suggest that you cheated. You found
comfort when I failed to supply it. What I am attempting to forgive is the omission of

Walking Survey Report
Upon conducting the survey, the main population, which was interviewed was of Hispanic descent.
According to New York City (n.d.), Inwood is made up of a large community of Hispanics and
Latinos, approximately 75% of the residents in this area are of this ethnic background. A walking
survey was conducted of the elementary school area, which is located in a park that is surrounded by
the Harlem River and a stretch of the Harlem River drive. Visual inspection of the area revealed that
the school was covered in scaffolding and netting, due to construction. One could clearly see dust and
particles, as result of this construction. Due to the scaffolding, the school windows were not visible.
We were, therefore, unable to determine whether the windows were open or closed during class ...

If the windows were open, it would act as a source of pollution for the school age children, as well as,
accompanied field exposure from outside activities. The elementary school is also located within a
short distance to the highways, where there are many automobiles that account for added air pollution
and exposure. According to Google Maps (n.d.), the school is approximately 113.11 ft. (34.48 m) from
the Harlem River Drive. A walking survey was also conducted of the area outside the studied area,
where we observed a sanitation depot located on 215th Street and 10th Avenue, as well as, a bus
depot, which located on 10th Avenue between 216th Street and 218th Street. If these vehicles use the
Harlem River Drive as their main access into and out of the neighborhood, this can greatly contribute
to air pollution in the surveyed area, as well as, the emissions from

Romeo And Juliet Folly Quotes
Romeo and Juliet: Victims of Feud All teenagers have stupid ideas, especially in the play The Tragedy
of Romeo and Juliet. In the play, two star crossed lovers meet, but there is a long standing family feud
between the two. Romeo and Juliet eventually meet and fall in love despite the families hating each
other. Fate and folly are major contributing factors, but it is feud that is most to blame for the star
crossed lovers death. First and foremost, the lovers Romeo and Juliet seemed destined from the very
beginning to a sad fate. For example, in the play s Prologue, the two are described as Star crossed
lovers (prologue.6), which implies that the two lovers are doomed. While the two lovers have still yet
to meet, they plan to attend the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the beginning of the play it come clear that the two Star Crossed lovers are from two conflicting
families. For instance the prologue states Two households, both alike in dignity (In fair Verona, where
we lay our scene), From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, Where civil blood makes civil hands
unclean. (Prologue.1 4). This explains to us that the two families (The Montagues and Capulets) are of
the same social standing, and are in a uncivil family feud. Later in the story after Romeo and Juliet
have already met, Juliet cries out O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and
refuse thy name, or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and I ll no longer be a Capulet. (2.2.36 39)
Juliet is willing to give up her family name to be with her love Romeo. After Romeo kills Tybalt,
cousin of juliet, Juliet first takes the side of her family and rejects Romeo, but later taking his side.
Juliet expresses her feelings by saying Shall I speak ill of him that is my husband? Ah, poor my lord,

College Tuition Benefit Analysis
Imagine somebody having just graduated from high school, and they are trying to get into a college,
but they don t have to much say as to which college they go to because many students cannot afford to
go to a nice college let alone a cheap college. For some people it s harder to imagine, but for others
that is the life that they are living right now. According to the College Board of Education tuition has
increased by 8.6% since 2012, meanwhile average household incomes have only increased by 2.23%.
The following tuition increase trend is becoming a serious threat to American society, and must be
slowed down. At this rate families will soon have no hope of ever paying for college debt. Many
people want to blame the government to contributing greatly to the recent increase in tuition by saying
there used to be a plethora of public funding opportunities for colleges, but that they were then all
slashed. This is not even close to the reality of the situation. While people did use to be able to pay
tuition out of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though this may seem like a good thing, this too has its own cons. With the rising amount of
money given out in financial aid colleges are making less net revenue which is making it hard to fund
better educational avenues for students. Colleges are also giving some students in need a discounted
price for tuition, and it has increased to almost 48.6% of freshman who receive these discounts (Redd,
Upper Limits). This leads to even more struggle for colleges to meet demands. Small and mid size
colleges are having the most difficult time with this trend, their net revenue is having trouble
increasing proportionally to their student increase. They should be increasing their revenue by about
2% every year (Redd, Upper

Gender And Justice Throughout The Trilogy Of Orestia
Marianna Baggett
CLAS 131
Essay #2
14 November 2013
Gender and Justice Throughout Orestia The trilogy of Orestia illustrates the many tragedies that fall
upon the House of Atreus and how different characters reactions cause further tragedies and further
complications in the story. Gender is a prominent theme throughout the trilogy, as certain characters
are portrayed as gender characteristics outside of their gender stereotype, and the different genders
plea for different verdicts in the trial at the end. The idea of justice through the first two books of the
trilogy is the eye for an eye model of justice. The Greeks truly thought that justice was attained by
avenging victims by inflicting the same punishment on criminals that those ... Show more content on

The fact that she is the one giving him orders is the first male characteristic that she is given.
Normally, men would be the ones to give orders and to take charge, but here Clytemnestra is in
charge. Then he continues to describe how her heart is like that of a man s. Here he is implying that
she lacks the compassion of a woman. This line foreshadows her husband s murder. Clytemnestra
thinks highly of herself and even demonstrates some feminist qualities. She states, Don t insult my
intelligence. You treat me like a child (Agamemnon 276). First, she is clearly stating that she is
intelligent, and that she knows she is intelligent. Second, she is negatively referencing children. As a
woman, she is speaking negatively about her treatment, but one would think her maternal qualities
would kick in and she would refrain from speaking of children negatively. Her self confidence
possibly comes from the fact that her husband is away at war for many years and she is left in charge
of the household, but regardless, her actions are seen as brazen by many. Women are looked upon
negatively by society, even in this ancient Greek society. The chorus states Trust a woman to praise a
sign/ before the truth is clear (Agamemnon 483 484). The chorus is basically stating that women are
quick to believe the first thing they hear and quick to spread foolish gossip. Even before she murders
her husband, the chorus is already speaking against her. In this first book, females are portrayed as

Personal Responsibility At A Young Age By Environmental Or...
Personal responsibility starts at a young age by environmental or parental influence. You are either
taught personal responsibility as you grow into an adult by being held accountable for your own
actions or the responsibility is taken from you. As an adult, you are responsible for every action that
you take, but before that action comes a series of thoughts that lead you to taking that action.
Depending on how you were brought up, your transition into becoming an adult can either be an easy
one or a difficult one. As an adult, the one thing that I have learned is a constant is that you will be
held accountable for your actions whether you like it or not.
Holding yourself accountable and having self discipline has a lot to do with personal responsibility in
my opinion. When you hold yourself accountable for your actions you are making a conscious effort
to be a responsible person. Every action starts with a thought, whether it s a good thought or a bad
thought, it will determine the outcome of that action. For example, when you wake up in the morning
and the first thought that comes to mind is that you will have a bad day, whether you know it or not
you are subconsciously going to make it a bad day. If you stopped that thought when it happened and
told yourself that today will be a good day you have already turned the outcome around. By holding
yourself accountable you are in control, you are not aimlessly going through life reacting to what
happens to you.

How Is Voltage Used In Australia
Voltage represents electric potential energy per unit charge. If a unit of electrical charge was placed in
a location, the voltage indicates the potential energy of it at that point. Basically, it is a measurement
of the energy contained within an electric circuit or electric field at a given point.
The voltage used in households in Australia is 230V 50Hz.
How is electricity supplied to homes
Australia is self sufficient in energy resources for electricity generation. The black coal is used to
supply electricity in New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia, while the brown coal is
used in Victoria. Australia also has hydro centrals, used to produce hydro electric energy for Tasmania.

Analysis Of When Worlds Collide By Christopher Columbus
The actions of competing European nations for colonies around the world following the exploits of
Christopher Columbus according to the video When Worlds Collide from PBS include enslaving,
torturing, killing, and plundering the riches of the indigenous people of the New World. According to
When Worlds Collide, before King Charles V s even began his reign, there had been 32 tons of gold
that had been plundered by the Spaniards from the Native Americans. To add insult to injury, he used
Africans and Native Americans as slaves in mines to get him even more gold only a few years after
coming into power. In the same video, it is mentioned that under the rule of another king, King Philip,
Native Americans were used again as slaves in mines

Health Insurance History
History of Health Insurance in the United States Health insurance has a long and extensive history in
the United States. The history or beginning of health insurance can be traced back to the Great
Depression in the 1930s. The Depression affected several indigenous hospitals in the United States. In
order to ensure adequate payment for medical services during the Great Depression, hospitals and
physicians had to establish and implement different types of insurance. The health insurance was also
meant to cover different types of injuries and sicknesses at work environments. In the same period
(Great Depression), managed care and conventional insurance were also brought into existence.
Managed care was later developed in the 1980s. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also in the 1980s, the private health insurance sector witnessed drastic changes while the Prepaid
group practice plans (now generally known as HMOs) started enrolling more members on the plan. In
addition, the period also witnessed the development of point of service (POS) and the preferred
provider organizations (PPOs). One of the major events in the 1980s as regards to the history of health
insurance in the United States was the enlargement of Medicaid and Medicare for the benefit of
pregnant women and children. The major highlight of this event was when Congress made the
decision to expand (also known as SOBRA expansions) the Medicaid coverage to pregnant women
and children with total income classified below 133% of the federal poverty level. The expansion also
meant that Medicare now includes prescription drug

Eric Foner Reconstruction Summary
Eric Foner s A Short History of Reconstruction begins with a short historiography overviewing how
historians views of reconstruction has changed. He does this by introducing the first understanding of
reconstruction, and then moves to different schools of thought that progressed through time until the
latest interpretation today. The first understanding of reconstruction, in which the Dunning School had
the largest influence, pushed the idea that the South gracefully accepted their defeat, and just wanted
to rejoin the Union and govern again. Under this school, white southerners wanted freedmen to
succeed, and were ready to be cooperative. However, against Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Johnson s
wishes, Radical Republicans sought to punish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Progressives had a very unfavorable view of reconstruction. The progressives believed that Johnson
was a victim of the radical republicans, who painted themselves with the moral high ground, but only
favored black suffrage and rights as a way to control the South politically and economically. Foner
then provides some survivors and black historians, like W.E.B. Du Bois, that dissented from the
previous rendering of reconstruction. Reconstruction, for these historians, was an idealistic effort to
transition the country from slavery to a racial harmony. These writers also paint freedmen as real
changemakers in reconstruction, not just people affected by white policy. Foner then writes of the
revisionists who drew from these dissenters, and from new scholarship and evidence. Foner also notes
that this revisionary spirit could come from a change in racial attitudes, associated with the modern
civil rights movements. The revisionists go against the thought of Johnson as a victim, and instead
clear the stigma associated with the radicals who had gotten him impeached. They write that the
reconstruction legislation was not forced through by radials, and instead had public and congressional
support. They also try to erase the belief that the South was a victim, and instead wrote of the services
that the republicans brought to the South, like public schools, equal citizenship, and the rebuilding of
the southern economy and reassociates corruption with the South, instead of the

Why it is important to reassure children, young people and adults about confidentiality and why it may need to be breached. For the home country England there are many policies and procedures within the legislation that relate to safeguarding human rights, data protection and confidentiality. These have been refined into every school policy and procedures such as the human rights act 1998/2004, children act 1989/2004 and the data protection act 1998. This check was put in place to safeguard people who are vulnerable such as children and persons with a disability. The CRB check is normally carried out by the organisation whom is setting up the work placement. Anyone working with children and young persons or people with a disability will have to undergo a CRB check before employment commences. The forms are filled out by the person seeking employment and you must list if you are volunteering or paid employment. Children act 1989/2004 Confidentiality applies to the children act in many ways it protects children and young peoples information from being put into the wrong hands although the children act does state that the person can obtain the information being held themselves as because of data protection you have the right to access your own files. • 3. The Roman Of Roman Empire Essay The Roman scutum was a large body shield used in battles, sieges, and gladiator fights. The scutum was used from the early Roman Republic until the third century CE and helped to define many of the Roman battle tactics that made them so successful. The curved, semi cylindrical design provided full body protection and was especially used in the testudo formation during sieges. The Roman Scutum is a perfect example of the military genius of the Roman Legion. The Roman Empire was created from the Roman Republic and became a huge part of Western Europe. Considered the most advanced of its time, the powerful Roman Army dominated the Western world for more than a thousand years due to its size and organization. Warfare was an important way of life in both the Republic and the Empire. Rome greatly benefitted from the riches brought back from conquered territories. The Romans believed themselves to be descendents of the war god Mars and also believed in the superiority of their culture. The power of the Roman military came from the professionalism of their heavy infantry. They were highly adaptable, borrowing ideas from outsiders. They changed their tactics, formations, and even their armor to fit the terrain or the enemy. They were also well disciplined. All troops swore an oath of allegiance, known as the sacramentum, to the emperor himself. This loyalty and discipline resulted in many victories on the battlefield. The Roman army used a system of rewards and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Every other day a new software device is being brought into the marketplace that helps to improve our knowledge in and out of school. in one way, the internet provides a much easier opportunity in education for student everywhere with access to all kinds of books available at any time. However, it is important to note that despite the fact that technology plays a big role in making our school lives much easier, it is not the only role it has. The internet seems to be impairing our ability to focus and to think deeply on any subject. The more technology continues to grow, the more improvement it provides in education level for certain students while for others it has a very different effect in the way we read and take in information. Furthermore, I will be discussing both pros and cons of the way technology is used in and out of our schools today. Technology is increasingly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The competitiveness in these schools are putting a strenuous amount of pressure on kids who are already overexerting themselves and this can lead to mental instability and suicide. It has gotten to a point where one school district in Princeton, New Jersey has to limit the amount of extra classes and homework given at the schools due to competitiveness of the mostly Asian children and their tiger moms. • 7. The Major Causes Of The Agricultural Revolution The Agricultural Revolution began as an idea of how to organize fields known as the enclosure system to substantially produce food. Because of their colonies in the Americas, the British thrived on new types of food brought from across the Pacific. Additionally, new technologies such as the **** furthered the productivity of food production. After the influx of new machinery, food types, and the enclosure system, Great Britain was able to provide more food for its people which both increased the population while the amount of labor decreased and lowered the cost of food. A major effect of the Agricultural Revolution was the cultivation of more food and how the cost of food lowered. This is due to the way in which the cost of food went down. After this increase of spending money, people of all classes in Europe were able to afford finer things, such as clothing which is particularly accentuated in document 7. The statistics in Document 2 depict an increase of the amount of food and productivity of fields in Britain particularly from 1650 1850. When we mixed water in the mystery powder, it did not dissolve. When the litmus paper was put into the test tube it turned blue. When the vinegar was mixed it bubbled/foamed up. When we mixed the iodine solution, there was no reaction and the solution turned to a dark brown/black color. When we mixed in the baking soda there was no reaction and it turned to an even darker color. In conclusion, after we had tested the mystery powder, we had to solve the mystery of who stole Jamal Jackson s iPad. During the 50 s and 60 s there was favorable conditions in place to maintain steady employment creation, capital investment and overall economic expansion. But this period ended in 1973 amid the first world oil crisis rocked the world economy and caused an era of debt led growth among the oil importing Latin America countries. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The governments limited their costs by slashing social spending; education, health, social services, etc.., devaluing the national currency via lowering export earnings and increasing import costs, creating strict limits on food subsidies, cutting workers jobs and wages, taking over small subsistence farms for large scale export crop farming and promoting the privatization of public industries. Most countries suffered a recession and often depression; and the poorest of the poor were most affected. As Latin America s economies stagnated, per capita income plummeted, poverty increased, and the already wide gap between the rich and the poor widened further. The debt crisis seriously eroded whatever gains had been made in reducing poverty through improved social welfare measures over the booms of the 60 s and early 70 s. Poverty grew 50 percent; malnutrition 40 percent; children were increasingly recruited into the drug trade and prostitution; long term unemployment and its adverse social effects increased; the weakening of local communities and the growth of crime and an epidemic of homicides, are but a few of the many dilemmas that the debt crisis caused. Our investment in search engine advertising was also significantly higher in this region because North Americans are highly engaged with search engines. When many people hear human development, they tend to think about infancy or adolescent years when kids go through puberty, but the most amazing developmental processes take place in the prenatal stage. The amount of growth and change that occurs during the nine month gestational period is almost incomprehensible. Prenatal development is broken down into three stages, the Germinal stage, the Embryonic Stage, and the Fetal stage. This paper will mainly focus on the embryonic stage because there is a vast amount of crucial development that happens during this period. The embryonic stage is also exciting because it is during this stage that the mass of cells that are supposed to be a human, starts to actually resemble a baby. As a matter of practice, nationalism frequently entails the implementation of policy which seeks to reclaim national resources from foreign groups, and redistribute those resources to the nation s citizens or government. This may be achieved through trade protectionism practices: where governments intentionally safeguard domestic industry from foreign competition, usually through policy regulation including tariffs or import quotas. By contrast, globalisation prioritises the exchange of goods and services, the interaction of people, and the sharing of information and technology across nations as enabled through domestic policy and international agreement. The prosperity of any nation is therefore intertwined with the prosperity of others, creating an environment of the shared pursuit of national interest, which fosters the sharing of success between nations through communal global growth. B Modern Resurgence of Nationalism The WTO has warned that the recent global increase in nationalism may threaten the global economy more than any time in recent history, stating that as long as global economic weakness persists, protectionist pressure will build and could eventually become overwhelming . Here he is implying that she lacks the compassion of a woman. This line foreshadows her husband s murder. Clytemnestra thinks highly of herself and even demonstrates some feminist qualities. You are either taught personal responsibility as you grow into an adult by being held accountable for your own actions or the responsibility is taken from you. As an adult, you are responsible for every action that you take, but before that action comes a series of thoughts that lead you to taking that action. Depending on how you were brought up, your transition into becoming an adult can either be an easy one or a difficult one. As an adult, the one thing that I have learned is a constant is that you will be held accountable for your actions whether you like it or not. Holding yourself accountable and having self discipline has a lot to do with personal responsibility in my opinion. When you hold yourself accountable for your actions you are making a conscious effort to be a responsible person. Every action starts with a thought, whether it s a good thought or a bad thought, it will determine the outcome of that action. For example, when you wake up in the morning and the first thought that comes to mind is that you will have a bad day, whether you know it or not you are subconsciously going to make it a bad day.
