Bantu The word Bantu which means people in many Bantu languages, refers to a group of about
five hundred African languages and to their speakers, today numbering ninety million. The Bantu
people of Sub Saharan Africa, lived about one thousand CE. They shifted from hunting and
gathering to settle agricultureabout four thousand years ago. The Bantu people traveled in to West
Africa and Southward into the present day Congo. As the Bantu people migrated evidence shows
that they absorbed most of the hunting and gathering population that originally inhabited the areas
they migrated to. The farming techniques used by the Bantu required them to move every few
years. The technique is called slash and burn. A patch of the forest is cut down and burned. They

is abandoned for another plot in a new location. When they moved, the Bantu speakers shared their
skills with the people they met, adapted their methods to suit each new environment, and learned

unrealistic, to connect North America from coast to coast. Manifest Destiny is a term that
describes the attitude that many Americans had during this era of transformation and

unknown world into a land where men could live and be free. However, with this movement of
progression Westward meant destruction for many Native Americans. California native s
suffered greatly due to the invasion and great influx of foreigners into their land due to the

Everyone thinks that a new place or a new identity will jump fast a new life. Caroline Leavitt. My
story starts in the year 2017 when I decided to follow up on my dream and go to a far away land,
called the United States of America. My journey is full of new surprises and discoveries of a
world so different from the one I am leaving behind, with its own beliefs and culture. This is the
story of an eighteen year boy and his first encounter with a new society, his first time away from
home and family. It was not an easy decision moving to a different country, leaving behind
everything and everybody, but I had the anxiety of traveling and seeing this new world that I
had seen only in the movies, the land of Christopher Columbus, where Indians and African
Americans lived unified on a vast territory. I still remember the feeling when my parents said

Most of their education was toward music, dance, embroidery, and how to be a good wife.
Woman did not have a voice in society, and their ideas was disregard and not valued. During the
year 1700 1900, some feminist movement for women s rightsarouse. In Europe, Mary
Wollstonecraft advocated for women s right and education. As a liberal thinker, Wollstonecraft
desired a society with equal rights for men and women. In the U.S., Jane Addamsdeveloped the
philosophy of socialized education, and was the pioneer is social work and women s right.
Born in different times and different continents, Mary Wollstonecraft and Jane Addams contributed
greatly for the women s right movement and education. Comparing and contrasting this two
women, we can notice some similarities. Both have some mental health issue, Mary
Wollstonecraft was raised in a dysfunctional family, with a alcoholic and abuse father. She
struggled with depression and have a rebellious nature. In the same perspective, Jane Addams also
suffered with depression due to physical problems and back pain, however, as young women she
was shy and reserved.
Mary Wolltonecraft was born in London, and lived from 1759 to 1797. Wolltonecraft had a short,
intense, and meaningful life. Coming from a middle class family, she attended the local school for
girls in Yorkshire from age 9 to 15. She learned math, arithmetic, needle work, music,
