A Comparative Study of the National Curriculum for...
Physical education has yet to become an established and important feature in Australian and English
school programs. At one level physical education has enjoyed considerable political support, acquired
support from athletes and secured a place on Australia and England s national curriculum. However on
another level physical education has been the subject of crisis meetings in Australia, on the verge of
being wiped out in later secondary school education in England and had numerous reviews. So why is
physical education important? The major factor being the increasing rise in obesity, but also children
appear to have less knowledge of physical skill, lack fitness and are very inactive is a few reasons why
physical education needs remain in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Drawing on past and present literature an analysis and comparison of the two countries will hopefully
draw some conclusions on the developments needed in physical education, but will also draw on the
positive aspects as well.
Time Allocation in Australia
Physical Education (PE) has been compulsory in the Australian national curriculum since 1946. Its
purpose and name has changed on several occasions, starting off as PE, then changing to Sport
Education, to Health, and now Health and Physical Education (HPE). Australia s curriculum is
organized into states like the American curriculum and each state is responsible for its policy and
operation of PE. However the Australian government have stated that children from ages 5 18 while at
school must undertake some compulsory PE. It is considered that children should undertake overall
200 minutes of physical education, 100 minutes of active sport and 100 minutes of PE in secondary
school. However this has seen not to be the case as the ACHPER Fitness survey of 1987 found that in
the schools surveyed an average of 116 minutes a week was being allocated to PE. Researchers
believe a minimum of 3 lessons of skill learning each 45 minutes long and 3 fitness sessions a week
each 30 minutes should be allocated to HPE, and this being the absolute minimum
(htpp://web.ceo.adl.catholic.ed.au cited 10/01/2005). However Moore 1994 feels

Peer Review Essay Examples
Without having someone else to look over your work, it is hard to realize what you are doing wrong.
When someone else reads your paper, especially having not read it before, they can easily identify
your mistakes, whether it be punctuation or spelling errors. I strongly believe that when peer review is
taken advantage of and used correctly, peer reviews are extremely helpful, but, unfortunately not
everyone takes it serious and gives you the feedback that can really help you fix your essay. I had been
rereading my Writing Project 1 essay over Philando Castile for other a week to make sure it was to
perfection. It wasn t until my paper went through peer review that I realized my mistakes. For
example, one of my first sentences in my essay made absolutely no sense because it was missing one
word, but when I had been reading it myself, I had never even noticed that it was missing the word.
The sentence had said, Castile, with his girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds, and her four year old daughter
in the car, was over for a broken brake light (Straley 1). I had been reading the sentence as if the word,

to the essay there were not commas in some important spots, for example, In fact about a third of
students who take out student loans never even graduate and receive their diploma (Straley 3). Having
a peer read your essay, can really help you find your grammatical errors. When we read our own

Brown Patch In Turfgrass Essay
Brown Patch in Turfgrass
Introduction
Brown patch, Rhizoctonia solani, is a plant disease that can have a major affect on both golf courses
and home turfgrass alike (Brown Patch, 2014). This fungal disease is most prevalent during the height
of the summer months, when heat and humidity levels are at their highest. The grass species that are
most susceptible make up the majority of cool season grasses, to include perennial ryegrass, tall
fescue, and the bentgrasses (Tredway et al, 2011). Occasionally, brown patch becomes a problem on
Kentucky bluegrasses in mid to late summer (Tredway et al, 2011).
The Pathogen The pathogen that causes the Brown patch disease is among the Rhizoctonia species,
more specifically Rhizoctonia solani, according to the American Phytopathological Society (Tredway
and Burpee, 2014). The aforementioned species are traditionally included with a group ... Show more

Turfgrass diseases are no different. One of the major cultural practices that can be modified to
effectively reduce disease severity is a balanced fertilization program. It has long been stated in
literature and professional circles that excessive N fertilization on turfgrass can dramatically increase
R. solani susceptibility. The reasoning behind this is due to the fact that N, applied at high rates and/or
at a less than optimum time of season can cause succulent turf growth. This can increase disease
incidence because turf is vigorously growing, and with higher N levels, stomata will be slower to
close (Carrow et al, 2001). Then, as conditions become favorable the fungus hyphae infiltrate the grass
plant via the stomata in the leaf blades, and because they are slower to close, the disease has a great
chance to infect the plant (Rhizoctonia Diseases of Turfgrass,

Informative Speech On Tattoos
Tattooing is a body modification practice used for centuries across the globe. Because of the multiple
origins of tattoos, there are several techniques and countless styles. Every tattoo is unique in meaning
to the person that receives it, though often they can fit into generalized categories. Tattoos have fallen
in and out of popularity over the course of history, though they have never and most likely will never
disappear.
II. Specific Purpose and Need to Know:
According to Written on the Body by Jane Caplan, Tattooing is one of many forms of irreversible
forms of body alteration... and it is probably the oldest and most widespread [of these.] Due to the age

Several tribes of Ancient Britons partook in tattooing as a sort of national pastime.
1.
In an article titled Ancient Britons: The Most Recognizable Tattoos of History that I accessed on June
12th, 2017, and was posted to Tattoo.com on February 16th, 2016, I learned that the tribes used ink
made from a plant called woad. It was diluted with urine and water, but because of the plants
antibacterial properties there was rarely ever a case of infection.
2.
We know of these tattooed tribes largely due to texts written by ancient Romans, who invaded the
British Isles, and in them they described the tattoos on the Britons as making them all the more
terrifying in battle.
C.
Evidence of tattoos is found not only on mummies or in text, but on the objects left behind by ancient
civilizations.
1.
There have been numerous images of Egyptian women depicted with tattoos as figurines dated as
early as 4000 3500 B.C. as well as in tomb scenes.
2.
Ancient tools made of bronze were discovered in Northern Egypt and were identified as tattooing
tools.

Liberalism and Conservatism
Nearly all Americans identify themselves with ideologies that don t discount another existing
ideology. Most people are Liberals or Conservatives because they have their own attitude regarding
our society. Liberalism and conservatism handle their issues with entirely different philosophies.
Liberals and Conservatives beliefs cover a wide range of issues that are influenced or established by
the kind of principles they embrace. The two most common ideologies in American politics are
Liberalism and Conservatism. Liberalism believes that they are people in the world that needs help.

institutions constrained or heavily regulated. Conservatism beliefs have influenced human rights
practices by supporting certain religious or spiritual groups over the other.
In conclusion, Liberalism and Conservatism both have the same goals for prosperity, but have
complete different ways of accomplishing them. The differences between liberalism and conservatism
are vast, but they center on the basic beliefs within each ideology. Both liberalism and conservatism
beliefs support the status quo. Both liberalism and conservatism beliefs are deep seated in America s
principles of fairness, equity, and equality. The ideology of Liberalism and Conservatism has kept this

Who Is John s Identity In Brave New World
In a futuristic utopian society in which people are grown as nearly identical embryos in bottles,
finding someone who is a complete outcast from the rest of society is rare. In Brave New World, the
author, Aldous Huxley, makes John an exception. Isolated, disengaged, and rejected, John is truthfully
not apart of the civilized World State culture or the savage Indian culture. Being the only person in the
book not born in a laboratory, John additionally stands to represent a unique human being whose
identity and family relationships violate all the other s societal ideals. His experience with exile was
alienating for his relationships with people yet enriching, at times, for his self expression. The thought
of isolating one s self is frowned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Two of the World State beliefs that John feels the strongest opposed to include soma distribution and
sex. John believes that soma is a sedating drug which the government gives to the civilized in order to
distract them from their unhappiness and noticing something is wrong within their society. The people
take soma for comfort without realizing the enslaving nature the soma withholds. John picks this up in
Chapter 15 of the novel when he throws the Delta s soma out the window saying, Don t you even
understand what manhood and freedom are. (page 213) John also disagrees with the World State s
view on sex, which can be partially attributed to his reading of Shakespeare work. In the various
books John has read, Shakespeare talks about sex as if it is a special activity for two people who love
each other and intend to marry. On the other hand, the World State strongly encourages erotic play for
people of all ages as strictly a form of entertainment. If it was anything more, such as emotional
bonding, it would destabilize the world the controllers have constructed. She was a popular girl and, at
one time or another, had spent a night with almost all of them. ( page 57) This quote supports John s
belief that sex is a casual and meaningless

The Influence Of Stereotypes
I get the new issue of Cosmopolitan every month and each issue is pretty close to being the exact
same. It s filled with ads for the clothing brands, the latest beauty products and usually advice columns
on sex or how to get a man. There was a story titled 3 Super Feminine Trends That Are Already
Dominating NYFW, and it showed several photos of models walking down the runway in New York
Fashion Week. Each one of the models looks emaciated. Their collar bones are popping out, their legs
look like toothpicks, and the clothes that they are modeling are just hanging off of them, they don t
even fit! I ve always noticed how thin models were, and I ve never understood why being extremely
thin was a requirement to be a model. Its sad that a woman that is a size 4 is considered plus size. The
clothing ads include extremely photoshopped models, with thin bodies and perfect skin. ... Show more

In the documentary Killing Us Softly, they had a quote from Cindy Crawford that read, I wish I
looked like Cindy Crawford. Societies idea of beauty sends a message that the thinner you are, the
better you look. This has affected women of all ages, sometimes even men. We look at overweight
people like they re disgusting, and praise thin people. The magazine cover of Kim Kardashian is a
great example, saying that this weight gain is Pregnant Kim s nightmare and comparing her to a killer
whale. Fat shaming is a huge problem, just like Laci Green asks, Why is fat such a big deal? (Green)
She also brings up in her video the fact that fat shaming leads to other very serious mental and health
problems, such as eating disorders. According to our lecture, as many as 10 million women and 1

Opinion
This in my opinion was a very interesting account of American Indian rituals. Lame Deer did a great
job on comparing and contrasting the white folks way of life with his own. He told us how Indian
children are typically never left alone which gives us a better understanding on why he was so afraid
of being alone on the hilltop. I feel like in this story I really got a better understanding of the Indian
way of life. They seem to be very tight knit group who value tradition above everything. Family seems
to be the most important theme as demonstrated by his grandmothers willingness to cut forty pieces of
her own flesh in order to make the rattle. This whole aspect about them is admirable but at the same
time I feel like they don t really take any actual logic into account. The whole vision determines your

never really experienced any of these things as im not a Sioux. I do think though that this story can be
related into our modern world in the sense that many kids are pushed into choosing a life career at a
relatively young age. Lame Deer was only 16 at the time but that is only a mere two years younger
than kids today. To some extent I found admirable that he at such a young age had already known
what his life s calling was. Overall the story

The Human Family Tree Chapter Summaries
The topic of where man originated from is often argued between many individuals. This video The
Human Family Tree cleared up many questions I had about where we all came from. I sometimes see
things online saying that a few centuries from now all races will intermingle and this is what we will
soon look like. The video states that technically there is no such thing as race. Race is a modern idea
that was not used back when ancient societies were one. It is crazy to think somehow we are all
related. This idea that we have all originated in Africa came as a surprise considering the physical
differences between all the different cultures that came of the original one in Africa. When you think
about all that goes on in the world today and consider the hate that has occurred in history it makes no
sense considering we are all related. The video mentions how cultural barriers have been created for

different walks of color were brought together because they shared one single tiny gene. I thought it

relationship is a bit more tangled than the cut and dry experience with Ms. Quested. Aziz only has
three meetings with Mrs. Moore. Both characters have this great fondness for the other with no

The Druids Essay
The Druids
The Celtic people have a long history. They have been portrayed in films and other such forms of
entertainment many times over. They are seen as a mystery to most. They are shrouded not only in
their hooded cloaks but also in mysticism. Since Christian times Druids have been depicted as
wizards, sorcerers, and soothsayers. In Pre Christian times, however, they were revered as
philosophers, judges, educators, historians, doctors, seers, astronomers, and astrologers. The word
druidae is Celtic in origin. It is said to be derived from the Greek word drus , meaning oak , and the

to search for what the druids looked like. Early depictions show them wearing a knee length tunic and
a hooded cloak. They were barefooted and carried a book, mistletoe and a staff. The chief sources
anyone has on the druids originated from Julius Caesar and the Romans. Much information comes
from archaeological remains and literature from early monks. Analogies can also be drawn from the
Hindu people. One such analogy would be the idea of reincarnation. The Hindu people believed that
the atman was merely reborn until it reached it final plateau. The druids believed that clouds were a
gathering of souls waiting to be reborn so that they could find the answer to get to the next evolution.
(crystalinks) Through archaeological studies scientists have found the remains of votive offerings on
lake bottoms and votive pits. This shows us a great deal about the Celtic religion. Archaeologists have
also found Celtic fortresses, habitations, temples, jewelry and tools. These finds show us what life was
like, what their technological capeability was, what food they ate, what crafts and trades they
practiced, what products they made and traded and where they travelled and how they got there. This

Life With Prohibition
Life with prohibition The prohibition can be categorized in many ways, such as it would only take
away the distribution of alcohol, but I believe that it deals with many things and all drugs. Many
people may disagree because prohibition failed when it was a law, but I feel like with the advances of
moral and social qualities in our society today, that we could accept prohibition in our society(Moore,
Mark H). Prohibition could prove to promote our society by taking away the distribution of drugs and
alcohol(Moore, Mark H). Another way it could advance our society is by making people healthier and
lowering the obesity rate with alcohol by taking away that which they overindulge themselves in. It
could also improve the health of the American ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, it did not succeed because many people were dependant on alcohol during that time because of
the depression and the people were very down and upset because just taking care of yourself was hard
much less if you had a family it was nearly impossible to take care of all of them because of the great
depression, it eventually leads to alcoholism(O Brien, Jane). Another reason that prohibition did not
succeed is because bootlegging occurred and illegal alcohol was produced and there was nothing the
law wanted to do because with prohibition being in place, the government lost a lot of money because
the government was tied into alcohol with taxes the government lost an estimated eleven billion in tax
revenue from alcohol(PBS). The government started the federal poisoning program since people
weren t slowing down with the consumption of alcohol the federal poisoning work ordered the
poisoning of industrial alcohol companies so that people would get sick and that the idea is that they
would be scared to drink alcohol. An estimated ten thousand people died from this program and it
made many people sick. (Blum Deborah). A reason prohibition did not succeed is that people did not
want prohibition during that time period because of all of the

The Stories Of Cinderella, Snow White, And Sleeping Beauty
Most of us grew up watching and reading the stories of Cinderella, Snow White and, Sleeping Beauty
all of which were produced by Disney. But what if I told you that the versions you grew up watching
and reading are far from the original versions depicted by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, better known as
the Brothers Grimm. In their tale of Cinderella there was no fairy godmother, the step sisters cut off
portions of their feet to fit into the slipper and none of the animals talked or sang, but rather plucked
out the step sister s eyes as punishment for the mistreatment of Cinderella. Which begs the question,
what inspired the brother s to write these types short stories, which are so not what is recognized today
as a fairy tale ? The rags to riches tale of Cinderella (the Brothers Grimm version) the maiden later
known as Cinderella goes from a beloved and cherished daughter, to a household slave after the death
of her mother and father s remarriage to a cruel step mother and two heartless step sisters. To which is
very similar to the Disney version most of us are familiar with today. The authors do a good job of
laying out the magical portion of the tale which was created through the tears she shed every over the
tree branch she planted at her mother s grave that flourished into a tree and produced a white bird at
each of her visits that granted her whatever she wished for.
The authors keep to a more realistic setting in the story that was true to their era and German

Music And Censorship Essay
In our society today, some musicians and their music drain and plague the moral and spiritual well
being of the people; therefore, censorship offers a necessary action that we must take to keep the
world from becoming a land of decadence. The musicians lives are not examples for the children or
the adults. The lyrics of many songs are not suitable for anyone. All types of music need some kind of
censorship. Censorship makes a person realize that music is good for the heart. Censorship totally
makes people act better, and when thinking better, this sustains a better society. The lives of some
musicians contain types of anarchy and self gratification. Once the musicians realize that people want
not just their music but them as well, they act ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The song quot;Rainy Day Woman #12 and #13, quot; blatantly says that quot;everybody must get
stoned. quot; That tells people to disobey the law and tells people to mangle the temple of God, our
bodies by perverting it with drugs and stimulants. Many musicians make a mockery of their fans. The
lead singers subsist to do this the most because of the vocal opportunities they have to express their
discontent with life and thrust their ideas upon those who hypnotize with the musician s power
position, thus, makes the listeners obey their thoughts without fully knowing. The lead singer Billie
Jo, for Green Day, says to his fans, quot; I m not going to say anything f****** intelligent, I m just
going too swear a whole d*** lot. quot; The Bible tells us that we should let everything that comes out
of our mouth praise Him, and swearing for any reason doesn t really praise Him at all and is degrading
for us as well. Almost like if he did not swear than we wouldn t like him or understand him.
In addition the lead singer for Kiss would spit on his fans. He would get the crowd to spit in a spittoon
type container, and by the end of the concert, he would drink the saliva and then he would use what
dwelled left in the spittoon to spit on the crowd. This creates a bad influence on anybody and makes a
person believe that it justifies him to do these actions because he dwells on stage, which totally in fact
creates wrong, and not right. The band would also wear face paint

Betto Bardi Analysis
I am Donato di Niccolò di Betto Bardi but my friends and family gave me the nickname Donatello. I
was born in Florence, Italy in 1386. I never married or had children of my own. I am the son of
Niccolò di Betto Bardi, a member of the Florentine Wool Combers Guild. Since my dad was a
member, I am the son of a craftsman so I was expected to continue his line of work. I was obligated
early with well known sculptors and immediately learned the Gothic style. Before 20, I was receiving
tasks for my work. According to The Famous People, being one of the greatest of all Italian
Renaissance artists, marble and bronze are my master in sculptures ( Donatello Biography ). I am

In 1408, I was back in Florence at the workshops of the cathedral and completed the life sized marble
sculpture, David. It has a Gothic style and an expressionless face. It reflects the influences of sculptors
of the time. David is probably one of my most famous works. I also developed my own style with
figures that are much more dramatic and emotional. Between 1411 and 1413, I sculpted the marble
figure, St. Mark. In 1415 I completed the marble statue of a seated St. John the Evangelist for the
cathedral in Florence. Around 1425, I began a partnership with Italian sculptor and architect
Michelozzo. WE went to Rome and made several architectural sculptor tombs, including the tomb of
Antipope John XXIII and the tomb of Cardinal Brancacci. In 1430 Cosimo de Medici assigned me to
do another statue of David but this time in bronze. Then in 1443, I was called to the city of Padua by
the family of Erasmo da Narni. In 1450, I completed a bronze statue called Gattamelata. It showed
Erasmo riding a horse with full battle dress. Finally in 1455 I returned to Florence and completed

Unfavourable economic institutions
The functioning of banks, insurance companies and stock exchanges is not up to the mark. They
cannot provide money on better interest rates which is necessary for capital formation. Primitive
techniques are used in industrial and agricultural small scale production. The law of inheritance
divides the land into uneconomic units which are not suitable for farming with modern machinery.
Social Obstacles
Population pressure
It occurs when the number of population exceeds the resources of the country. It also happens when
medical facilities decrease death rate and family planning is not so effective due to religious and
cultural values of the society. Latest population figures show that population of Pakistan is 124.45
million and growth rate is 3 percent. In 1981, total population of the country was 84.25 million

a Junior Home Office official. Robert and Edith got married in September the year of 1901 at St. John

Evaluation Of A Model Of Memory Whilst Weighing Up The...
This essay aims to make an appraisal of two models of memory whilst weighing up the strengths and
limitations of each. The two models of memory I will be evaluating are the Multy store Model of
Memory (MSM) and Level of Processing Model.
Memory is defined as the mental process of encoding, then storing and retrieving information. To
enable us to store any information out memory first needs to encode information. This require three
types of encoding which are semantic encoding, which is encoding information through the
information s meaning; acoustic encoding, which is encoding information through sound; and visual
encoding which interprets information through visual images, McDermott Roediger III (2015).
This process allows us to interpret and organise the information ready to be stored in our memories.
The second stage is the storage stage where the information enters the memory and is maintained there
for a period of time. The final stage is the retrieval stage which involves where information that is
stored in the memory being located and used, Study.com (2003 2015).
There are limits to the short term memory (STM) span, which is the longest number of items or digits
a person can recall and instantly repeat back in the correct order. Most adults can store between 5 and
9 items in their short term memory. This notion was put forward by Miller (1956) and he called it the
magic number 7, McLeod (2009). He thought that STM could hold 7 (plus or minus 2 items) because

Essay About Love And Blood
Love and Blood Methodically and carefully Clary was tearing Jace s room apart. She was still in her
tank top, though she d pulled on a pair of jeans; her hair was scraped behind her head in a messy bun,
and her nails were powdered with dust. She had searched under his bed, in all the drawers and
cabinets, crawled under the wardrobe and desk, and looked in the pockets of all his clothes for a
second stele, but she had found nothing. She had told Sebastian she was exhausted, that she needed to
go upstairs and lie down; he had seemed distracted and had waved her away. Images of Jace s face
kept flashing behind her eyelids every time she shut her eyes the way he had looked at her, betrayed,
as if he didn t know her anymore. But there was no point dwelling on that. She could sit on the edge of
the bed and cry in her hands, thinking about what she had done, but it would do no one any good. She
owed it to Jace, to herself, to keep moving. Searching. If she could just find a stele She was lifting the
mattress off the bed, searching between it and the box springs, when a knock came on the door. She
dropped the mattress, though not before discerning that there was nothing under it. She tightened her
hands into fists, took a deep breath, stalked to the door and threw it open. Sebastian stood on the
threshold. For the first time he was wearing something other than black and white. The same black
trousers and boots, admittedly, but he also wore a scarlet leather

Increasing Gun Control Legislation

Increasing Gun Control Legislation
A/intro? In 2000, nearly 30,000 people died due to uncontrollable gun violence, even though the US
has many gun laws. Gun control is now one of the main political issues because of all the shootings in
the past decade. There have been many studies taken on gun control, which shows more gun control
decreases deaths with a gun involved.
B The Second Amendment in our constitution, is one that is commonly mistaken. The Second
Amendment does not state that a single citizen has the right to protect themselves with a gun. Most
people do not know the text actually says, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a
free state, the right of the people to keep and bear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All that should happen is certain types of guns shouldn t be accessible to the public. For example, a
war zone gun like an M 16 should not be available to the general public because it is not used to hunt
and is not a reasonable gun to carry simply to bare arms. Gun control would also put more restrictions
on who can purchase a gun, because some people are not in the right state of mind to own a gun.
Manufacturers might also be required to make all guns child proof. It s simple, if guns are available to
everyone and anyone, gun violence will not be taken as seriously as it should be. Also, while more gun
legislation is needed, the already existing gun laws on the state and national levels need to be strictly
enforced. For example, it is a national law that in order to purchase a gun, a background check is
required, but not all states enforce this law properly.
Conclusion There are currently over 200 million guns in use, which means obtaining a gun in the
United States mustn t be that hard. If gun usage could be regulated more by banning certain unneeded
weapons to the public and requiring a more in depth background check, than miss usage of guns, and
deaths caused by them would decrease. However, already existing laws need to be enforced and
harsher penalties for those who don t follow the laws. If the country would agree on certain legislation
for gun control, than The United States could be a much safer

The book Queenbees and Wannabees inspired Tina Fey to create a film which soon became Mean

casting goes Lindsay Lohan first read for Regina George but feared that the mean girl would ruin her

Socialization is the lifeline social experiences by which individuals develop ways of thinking, feeling,
and acting that are essential for effective participation in a society. Major agents of socialization are
the family, school, peer groups, and the media. Expectations of society are also formed by culture.
Cady being from Africa was socialized different than teenagers in the United States. After her first day
at school you can tell that Cady is experiencing culture shock. Culture shock is feeling disoriented,
uncertain, out of place, or even fearful when immersed in an unfamiliar culture. Not only was she
socialized in a different society in a different country she was also homeschooled. Cady does not
know the cultural norms when she first comes to the states. Her teachers at her new school do not trust
her. For example, in one of the scenes she is in class and tries to go to the bathroom which in her
culture is acceptable but in the United States teachers usually think when a student asks to go to the
bathroom they are just trying to get out of class rather than actually going to the bathroom. Another
example on how culture plays a role in her socialization is when she tries to talk to people in the
school and they are rude and tell her they will beat her up just because she talked to

San Tan Valley Advertisement Analysis
The small town of San Tan Valley is plagued with horrible traffic, and it has become an enormous
burden to its residents. The town has three entrances however it seems that everyone has
simultaneously chosen one of the entrances to bombard causing havoc. According, to Suburbstats.org,
the population of San Tan Valley is 81,000 people. It is imperative that we choose are entrances wisely
otherwise this madness will continue. I used pathos to persuade my audience, the residents of San Tan
Valley, into making more strategic and beneficial choices on the roads to take on their local commute.
The top half of my ad has a very frustrating, angry tone. To many drivers the sight of bumper to
bumper traffic is extremely aggravating, and very disappointing. By using that picture it sets the
mood, and gets the audience thinking about how horrible the traffic is. I specifically chose a warm red
color for my text, because red is as very sharp serious color. It calls for action, usually portraying the
message to stop. We associate red with that meaning due to common objects like stoplights, stop
signs, and headlights. I also added in a STOP sign near the top right corner of the ad The STOP sign
pairs nicely with the tone of the top half. Due to the way our brains associate the image of the sign, it

  • 3. A Comparative Study of the National Curriculum for... Physical education has yet to become an established and important feature in Australian and English school programs. At one level physical education has enjoyed considerable political support, acquired support from athletes and secured a place on Australia and England s national curriculum. However on another level physical education has been the subject of crisis meetings in Australia, on the verge of being wiped out in later secondary school education in England and had numerous reviews. So why is physical education important? The major factor being the increasing rise in obesity, but also children appear to have less knowledge of physical skill, lack fitness and are very inactive is a few reasons why physical education needs remain in ... Drawing on past and present literature an analysis and comparison of the two countries will hopefully draw some conclusions on the developments needed in physical education, but will also draw on the positive aspects as well. Time Allocation in Australia Physical Education (PE) has been compulsory in the Australian national curriculum since 1946. Its purpose and name has changed on several occasions, starting off as PE, then changing to Sport Education, to Health, and now Health and Physical Education (HPE). Australia s curriculum is organized into states like the American curriculum and each state is responsible for its policy and operation of PE. However the Australian government have stated that children from ages 5 18 while at school must undertake some compulsory PE. It is considered that children should undertake overall 200 minutes of physical education, 100 minutes of active sport and 100 minutes of PE in secondary school. However this has seen not to be the case as the ACHPER Fitness survey of 1987 found that in the schools surveyed an average of 116 minutes a week was being allocated to PE. Researchers believe a minimum of 3 lessons of skill learning each 45 minutes long and 3 fitness sessions a week each 30 minutes should be allocated to HPE, and this being the absolute minimum (htpp://web.ceo.adl.catholic.ed.au cited 10/01/2005). When someone else reads your paper, especially having not read it before, they can easily identify your mistakes, whether it be punctuation or spelling errors. I strongly believe that when peer review is taken advantage of and used correctly, peer reviews are extremely helpful, but, unfortunately not everyone takes it serious and gives you the feedback that can really help you fix your essay. I had been rereading my Writing Project 1 essay over Philando Castile for other a week to make sure it was to perfection. It wasn t until my paper went through peer review that I realized my mistakes. For example, one of my first sentences in my essay made absolutely no sense because it was missing one word, but when I had been reading it myself, I had never even noticed that it was missing the word. The sentence had said, Castile, with his girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds, and her four year old daughter in the car, was over for a broken brake light (Straley 1). Surely when I went back to the essay there were not commas in some important spots, for example, In fact about a third of students who take out student loans never even graduate and receive their diploma (Straley 3). Having a peer read your essay, can really help you find your grammatical errors. When we read our own paper, we often read it as if the punctuation is there, even if it is not. • 5. Brown Patch In Turfgrass Essay Brown Patch in Turfgrass Introduction Brown patch, Rhizoctonia solani, is a plant disease that can have a major affect on both golf courses and home turfgrass alike (Brown Patch, 2014). This fungal disease is most prevalent during the height of the summer months, when heat and humidity levels are at their highest. The grass species that are most susceptible make up the majority of cool season grasses, to include perennial ryegrass, tall fescue, and the bentgrasses (Tredway et al, 2011). Occasionally, brown patch becomes a problem on Kentucky bluegrasses in mid to late summer (Tredway et al, 2011). The aforementioned species are traditionally included with a group ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Turfgrass diseases are no different. One of the major cultural practices that can be modified to effectively reduce disease severity is a balanced fertilization program. It has long been stated in literature and professional circles that excessive N fertilization on turfgrass can dramatically increase R. solani susceptibility. The reasoning behind this is due to the fact that N, applied at high rates and/or at a less than optimum time of season can cause succulent turf growth. This can increase disease incidence because turf is vigorously growing, and with higher N levels, stomata will be slower to close (Carrow et al, 2001). Then, as conditions become favorable the fungus hyphae infiltrate the grass plant via the stomata in the leaf blades, and because they are slower to close, the disease has a great chance to infect the plant (Rhizoctonia Diseases of Turfgrass, ... Who Is John s Identity In Brave New World In a futuristic utopian society in which people are grown as nearly identical embryos in bottles, finding someone who is a complete outcast from the rest of society is rare. In Brave New World, the author, Aldous Huxley, makes John an exception. Isolated, disengaged, and rejected, John is truthfully not apart of the civilized World State culture or the savage Indian culture. Being the only person in the book not born in a laboratory, John additionally stands to represent a unique human being whose identity and family relationships violate all the other s societal ideals. John picks this up in Chapter 15 of the novel when he throws the Delta s soma out the window saying, Don t you even understand what manhood and freedom are. (page 213) John also disagrees with the World State s view on sex, which can be partially attributed to his reading of Shakespeare work. In the various books John has read, Shakespeare talks about sex as if it is a special activity for two people who love each other and intend to marry. On the other hand, the World State strongly encourages erotic play for people of all ages as strictly a form of entertainment. If it was anything more, such as emotional bonding, it would destabilize the world the controllers have constructed. The chief sources anyone has on the druids originated from Julius Caesar and the Romans. Much information comes from archaeological remains and literature from early monks. Analogies can also be drawn from the Hindu people. One such analogy would be the idea of reincarnation. The Hindu people believed that the atman was merely reborn until it reached it final plateau. The druids believed that clouds were a gathering of souls waiting to be reborn so that they could find the answer to get to the next evolution. Prohibition could prove to promote our society by taking away the distribution of drugs and alcohol(Moore, Mark H). • 30. Evaluation Of A Model Of Memory Whilst Weighing Up The... This essay aims to make an appraisal of two models of memory whilst weighing up the strengths and limitations of each. The two models of memory I will be evaluating are the Multy store Model of Memory (MSM) and Level of Processing Model. Memory is defined as the mental process of encoding, then storing and retrieving information. To enable us to store any information out memory first needs to encode information. This require three types of encoding which are semantic encoding, which is encoding information through the information s meaning; acoustic encoding, which is encoding information through sound; and visual encoding which interprets information through visual images, McDermott Roediger III (2015). This process allows us to interpret and organise the information ready to be stored in our memories. The second stage is the storage stage where the information enters the memory and is maintained there for a period of time. The final stage is the retrieval stage which involves where information that is stored in the memory being located and used, Study.com (2003 2015). There are limits to the short term memory (STM) span, which is the longest number of items or digits a person can recall and instantly repeat back in the correct order. Most adults can store between 5 and 9 items in their short term memory. This notion was put forward by Miller (1956) and he called it the magic number 7, McLeod (2009). For example, a war zone gun like an M 16 should not be available to the general public because it is not used to hunt and is not a reasonable gun to carry simply to bare arms. Gun control would also put more restrictions on who can purchase a gun, because some people are not in the right state of mind to own a gun. Manufacturers might also be required to make all guns child proof. It s simple, if guns are available to everyone and anyone, gun violence will not be taken as seriously as it should be. Also, while more gun legislation is needed, the already existing gun laws on the state and national levels need to be strictly enforced. For example, it is a national law that in order to purchase a gun, a background check is required, but not all states enforce this law properly. Conclusion There are currently over 200 million guns in use, which means obtaining a gun in the United States mustn t be that hard. If gun usage could be regulated more by banning certain unneeded weapons to the public and requiring a more in depth background check, than miss usage of guns, and deaths caused by them would decrease.
