Comparing Aquinas And St. Bonaventure
Theology in the middle ages, was the leading fascination to the human minds especially the
theologians or more specifically the scholastics. Some of the scholastics who were fascinated by God
are well known and those people are St. Bonaventure and Thomas Aquinas. Thus far, the two
scholastics have interesting theories on knowing god but only one is better than the other to prove that
god exists. Thomas Aquinas (while disliking the idea) and St. Bonaventure try to establish this by
pointing out reason, revelation and eventually knowing god. Therefore, the idea of reason should be
well established by either one of the theologians.
The idea of knowing god through the method of reason is how these two theologians attack this
subject. Thomas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aquinas uses the five ways to prove of the God s existence by indicating; the motion that makes
things possible and makes things work, of efficient cause things happen because of a cause so that
cause is God, for possibility and necessity things cannot be created so quickly therefore God is
responsible for this creation of the universe, for the gradation of things anything that is created is not
really perfect because of things that happen God is responsible and the final way is the governance of
the world how things are ordered in the world because of God. In which this is his version of pursuing
the idea of divine illumination. Bonaventure has merely the different aspect but in his way he
describes how he exists is by stating the fact that we are created in God s image in this contemplation
consists the perfect illumination of our mind, when, as it were, on the sixth day it sees man made to
the image of God. The idea expressed by Bonaventure indicates that from the moment humans were
created resembles how the people have the divine illumination of the mind. Thomas Aquinas and
Bonaventure has two different minds for the unity or the separation of the divine

Loewen Case Study (Memo Format)
Mr. Loewen After some careful consideration and examination, I recommend that we accept SCI s bid
of $43 per share. My recommendation is based upon my assessment of four things: * Our position
after the Mississippi case settlement * Our financial situation * Our business model * SWOT and
Industry Analysis First, the Mississippi case has somewhat damaged our company s image and may
portray us as a company that does not honor legal agreements. Not only was a contract broken that
brought the case originally, but so was the settlement as a number of the subject to provisions were not
met. If this be the case, then it could stand to reason that we may be viewed as untrustworthy in other
agreements. Being that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These financial issues lead me to my next point; our business model and its effect on our financial
situation. While our model of leaving as much individuality of our acquisitions in place as possible;
allowing previous business arrangements, staffing levels and management to continue has been
effective in building our reputation, efficiency has suffered. By not standardizing things such as
automobile fleet usage and sharing facilities, we are incurring more administrative expense than is
really necessary. By not centralizing purchasing across the board the company is not taking full
advantage of economies of scale. As growth continues the administration of costs and the different
contracts will become nightmarish. Expenses as % of total revenue are beginning to move up and
currently stand at their highest level (18%). A move away from this model, especially after the image
issues I mentioned earlier, may further damage our reputation as being the preferred acquirer. To
further complicate such a move is our acquisition of numerous rural homes which will present a
problem to the logistics of integrating services, etc. efficiently. Finally, SWOT and Five Forces
analysis point to an increasingly competitive industry that will be experiencing substantial profit
margin pressure as buyers gather more power due

Causes Of The Opium Wars
The Opium Wars were a series of conflicts that eventually led to China s decline through the trade and
abuse of the drug opium. The first of the Opium Wars (1839 42) was fought between China and
Britain, and the second war (1856 1860) involved France as well. In both wars, the foreign powers
triumphed over China, causing havoc, causing the fall of the Qing dynasty. Prior to the Opium Wars,
China was full of rich culture, remarkable goods, and useful inventions. They had invented
gunpowder, kites, and porcelain, all of which were in demand. The Qing dynasty had believed that
they were superior to other countries, and refused to let any foreigners access any Chinese territory.
There was only one area where trade was permitted, and it was ... Show more content on

The amount of people using the drug soon increased as well due to the large amount of opium that
soon became available throughout the country. The addictive nature also began to cause people to
want, or even need, more and more of the drug, ensuring that it would be a continuous market for
Britain. The amount of addicts skyrocketed to 12 million at one point, which soon led to a ban on the
drug by Lin Zexu, commissioner of China. Zexu arrested dealers, seized crates of the drug, and then
dumped 2.6 million pounds of it into the ocean. This was another cause for the opium war, as his
actions angered British traders who were not able to get compensation from the British government.
Overall, China s strict trading techniques, in addition to the way they responded to the problem was
one of the main causes of the opium wars. Another main cause for the opium wars was China s unfair
trade superiority. Prior to the opium wars, China was the leading trade nation for the world, with its
long distance trade reaching many different area of the world, such as Southern Asia, the Middle East,
and even Europe. China had the most commercial ships out of anybody in the world up to the 19th
century, which helped expand its already large economy. China s goods were in high demand, as they
had paper, firearms, tool, silk, tea, porcelain, and much more, making them the world s superpower for
trade. By only accepting silver for these items, China began to have

The Arab Spring During The Middle East And North African...
The Arab Spring brought revolutionary changes to the Middle East and North African region s
authoritarian republics while bypassing its autocratic monarchies. The monarchical exceptionalism
that has allowed these states to remain intact is due to a set of three overlapping factors crosscutting
coalitions, hydrocarbon rents, and foreign patronage. Collectively, these factors explain why most of
the royal autocracies never experienced widespread protest.
The eight Arab monarchies Jordan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and the Persian Gulf states of Bahrain,
Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the UAE hold near absolute power. According to the Gause article, none of
the states qualify as constitutional kingships in which the enthroned incumbent exercises only
ceremonial influence while an elected parliamentary government makes policy. The region s kings and
emirs not only reign but they also rule. They are the lead decision makers in naming cabinets,
determining major domestic and foreign policies, controlling the state s coercive apparatus, and
allowing parliaments and judiciaries limited authority (Gause). According to Gause, the first element
of the strategic explanation for monarchical exceptionalism is one that links the historical legacy of
domestic choices with a permissive international environment. The majority of the monarchies have
used the tool of crosscutting coalitions thereby linking alliances of different social constituencies to
the ruling family. In general, dictators cannot

Fate and Free Will in Harry Potter
One of the most pondered questions in human existence is whether our lives are determined by forces
which are beyond our control or by our own free will. It is widely believed that one s own destiny is
created by fate. However, some also consider the possibility that one s own choices can determine the
reality of one s existence. In Harry Potter, JK Rowling uses fate and choice as forces which shape the
events revolving around her protagonist, Harry Potter, as well as the other characters in the story.
Rowling does not side with one idea over the other, but instead, argues that both fate and choice are
significant factors that determine the events which happen during the course of an individual s
development. Although Rowling lays out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of

Each of the students share the common goal of winning the House Cup for their house. Individualism,
therefore, is constrained and each student is forced to act in a particular way in which they are
expected to. Aside from the Sorting Hat, other forces of fate also take part in determining the students
house associations. For example, Harry is sorted into Gryffindor, the same house his parents belonged
to. Similarly every member in the Weasley family had been a Gryffindor, while every member in the
Malfoy family had been a Slytherine. This reinforces the idea that the events in each character s life

assigned to a particular house based on forces beyond their control.

The Truman Show
1. The Truman Show included multiple scenes of people reading newspaper headlines. The headlines
had secret meanings to them that an unknown viewer would not notice.
Crackdown on Homeless: This headline appeared the day after the presumed homeless man identified
himself as Truman s father. After he did this, random people took him away. The intent of the
newspaper was to convince Truman that the person he encountered was a homeless man and that
SeaHaven is trying to get the homeless out.
Travelers Beware: After Truman decided that he wanted to travel to Fiji, he went to a traveling agency
to book a flight. While he was waiting for the agent, he looked over and saw the sign headline. This
sign wanted to heighten Truman s fear of travel.

addition, Truman had moments of resemblance to Jesus Christ which also ties into the names Christof
and Santa Maria.

was so the viewer had complete satisfaction. They used reasonable angles such as store security
cameras, picture frames, and mechanical equipment. In contrast, the show used angles from inside
vending machines, pencil sharpeners, and buttons on other actor s clothing. When Christof and
Truman were in a shot together, Christof would always be bigger in one way or another, except for
one shot. This was to showcase that Christof overpowers Truman.

Tsarist Autocracy In Russia
The Tsarist regime, an often barbaric feudal system, was balancing on the eve of collapse even before
the outbreak of World War One in 1914. Tsarism has a long and troubled history frequently changing
its views and opinions whilst demanding full dedication from its citizens. Tsarism s woes were
amplified at the dawn of the 20th century. Tsarism refused modernisation in a modern world which led
to events of historical merit such as the Bloody Sunday Massacre, and the Lena Goldfields massacre.
However, World War One did play a significant role in inciting revolution against the Tsarist regime.
The Tsarist autocracy inflicted its brutality upon the Russian people since Ivan III (Oxley, 2001) until
the death of Tsar Nicholas II, a reign spanning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Russia was performing dismally in the Russo Japanese war which took a heavy toll on the standard of
living in Russia. An immense amount of supplies and able bodied soldiers were being carted away on

economy (Wormald, 2017). Father Gapon, a charismatic priest living in St. Petersburg, ran the

knowledge, truth, the nature and meaning of life. Before truly choosing ones path into nursing, it is
important to explore personal values and principles that will guide such nursing practice. Her
philosophy in nursing incorporates the nursing metaparadigm of person, health, environment and

explore values she feels are important and necessary in the delivery of holistic nursing care. Nursing
as a Person A person can be an individual, family, community or all mankind. It is the focus of nursing
practice (George, 2011). Providing compassionate and patient centered care is imperative. Maintaining
an efficient nurse patient relationship is instrumental to the care of a person. A nurse theorist that she
relates this too is Hildegard Peplau whose theory greatly emphasizes the importance of the nurse
patient relationship. The nurse patient relationship starts when there is a need. Therefore, through

Economic Development Strategy For The City Of Sydney
Basic Summary
Sydney is Australia s worldwide city, and the main learning based economy in the country. More than
$100 billion for each annum is produced in Sydney. That is more than half of what the whole mining
part creates, and double the span of the horticultural division at the farm gate.
In the course of the most recent five years our city economy has demonstrated its flexibility by
withstanding the worldwide financial recession. About 2000 organisations were added to the city since
2007. Major urban restoration ventures over the City of Sydney are giving occupations and lodging.
Green Square, Australia s biggest urban redevelopment task, is only 3.5kms from the downtown area.
The $8 billion redevelopment will give homes to 11,000 new inhabitants and 22,000 new labourers.
Economic Development Strategy for the City
The City of Sydney s 10 year Economic Development Strategy will help convey a realistic vision for a
significantly more dynamic, earth feasible economy, and a liveable city that works for inhabitants,
labourers, guests and understudies. Activity arrangements will bolster our current monetary qualities,
for example, the fund, tourism and retail areas; and develop new, rising parts, for example, the evening
time economy and green economy divisions. We are as of now putting $1.9 billion in a 10 year
framework project including Light Rail and the change of George Street; diminishing administrative

Persuasive Essay On Security And Security
Crime is not new to the world; as a matter of fact, the crime rate is gradually increasing and terrorist
attacks are still rampant since the 9/11 bombing incident. In response, the government created ways to
prevent such wickedness to happen with technology such as data encryption, information gathering,
and electronic surveillance. This raises concern from the community on how much and should the law
enforcement agencies have access to such information. Even though security and safety was the main
goal for such response, limits should be considered on to what extent are they able to gather
information on people. The privacy of an individual should be of higher priority than their security in
the eyes of the law. By its very nature, law enforcement is an information rich activity. One example
of this is the battle between the FBI and Apple company in February 2016. The FBI called on Apple to
help them hack an iPhone belonging to Islamic State inspired terrorist Syed Rizwan Farook, who had
opened fire on a local government office building in San Bernardino in December 2015, killing 14
people. This is for the FBI to be able to see and trace the motives and any other plans of the terrorist.

iPhone to the extent that they wanted it encrypted. Yet, the Apple refused to comply with the FBI s

What is Stress Essay
Stress is the combination of psychological, physiological, and behavioral reactions. Most people have
a response to events that challenge or threaten them. Stress good and bad. Good stress is called
eustress.
According to Hans Selye, a series of physiological reactions to stress occurring in three phases. Those
phases are alarm, resistance, and exhaustion. This is also known as the general adaptation syndrome.
General adaptation syndrome describes the body s short term and long term reaction to stress.
Stressors in humans include physical stressors, such as starvation being hit by a car, or suffering
through severe weather. Additionally, humans can suffer emotional or mental stress, such as the loss of

In short, stress might allow persons to change the way they think and act for the better.
Stress is the cause of general adaptation syndrome and it can manifest as fatigue, irritability, difficulty
concentrating, and difficulty sleeping. Persons may also experience other symptoms that are signs of
stress. Persons experiencing unusual symptoms, such as hair loss, without another medical explanation
might consider stress as the cause.
Stress is often not helpful and can even be harmful when not managed effectively. Moreover, stress
can increase the risk of developing health problems, such as cardiovascular disease and anxiety
disorders. This bad kind of stress is called distress, the kind of stress that people usually are referring
to when they use the word stress.
Although most people would say that stress is a bad thing, they are mistaken. There is good stress that
is positive and productive. Competing in an athletic event or falling in love are examples of good
stress. These stressors are good providing the body with short term energy (410).
Stressors are events that threaten or challenge people. They are the sources of stress, such as having to

`` The Love Song Of J. Alfred Prufrock, And Nick From...
Thomas Stearns Eliot and Ernest Hemingway both captured the essence of the modern man during a
time in history that the world was changing with the characters they created and the symbols used.
Modernism was the name given to different styles of literature and art after World War I. This war was
so horrific that many of the writers used their own experiences when creating their stories and poems.
T.S. Eliot and Ernest Hemingway both created characters that embody the modern man in two
different, but similar ways. J. Alfred Prufrock from T.S. Elliot s The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock
and Nick from Hemmingway s Big Two Hearted River . Both Prufrock and Nick share the
characteristics of loneliness, anxiety, and finding their place, that represent the modern man during
this era. Even though not all modern men are lonely, the characteristics, commonalities, and
differences that both of these characters share are represented in these pieces of work. The time period
before and leading up to World War I, the literary world took a more imaginative approach when
writing stories and poetry. During this war the world changed. The destruction that civilization caused
to each other was brutal and many artists and writers thought of the world as mechanical and
impersonal. A common theme and characteristic of the modern man was loneliness, and this became a
theme in many of the stories and poetry with this Modernism time period. Prufrock and Nick both

Traditionally, the low performing label has been applied with a broad brush to bad schools having a

Organizations need ideas, energy, and talent; people need careers, salaries, and opportunities. Political
views organization as a complex web of individual and group interests. Symbolic embodies and
express an organizations culture: the interwoven pattern of beliefs, values, practices, and artifacts that
define for members who they are and how they are to do things (Bolman Deal, 2003). The leadership
component concentrates on the principals role in executing the strategic plan. Phase I (symbolic) will
focus on a needs assessment of the school. Phase II (structural) aligns the planning and development
around the needs of the school. Phase III (human resource) covers the implementation of the areas
covered in the planning and development stage. Phase IV (political) is centered on the accountability
component. Leadership
Leadership is vital to the effectiveness of a school. James Burns, the founder of modern leadership
theory discusses the ideal of transformational leadership. Transformational leaders form a relationship
of mutual stimulation and elevation that converts followers into leaders and leaders into moral agents
(Burns, 1978, p. 4). Four factors characterize the behavior of transformational leaders: individual
consideration, intellectual stimulation, inspirational motivation, and idealized influence (Bass, 1985).

Duality And Duality In The Call Of The Wild
Duality in The Call of the Wild In the novel Call of the Wild, Buck, the protagonist struggles with the
constant duality between his Love of a Man and his pull towards savagery. The civilization that
greeted Buck in the Santa Clara Valley was one that was based on Southern Hospitality, but the
savagery that slowly ripped and consumed Buck was one of an unforgiving nature, destroying anyone
or anything that was unfortunate enough to see it. One major confliction Buck battles with is his Love
of a Man while he is in the presence of civilization. In the beginning of the novel, while Buck is still
on Judge Miller s place, London states, His father, a huge saint bernard, had been the judge s
inseparable companion, and Buck bid fair to follow in the way of his father (12). Buck enjoyed being
in the company of the Judge s family and was comfortable in the ways of civilization. On page 23, the
novel states, Francois s whip snapped less frequently, and Perrault even honored Buck by lifting up his
feet and carefully examining them. When Perrault did this, it made Buck feel that love of a man that
he strives for. Later in the novel, John Thornton saved Buck from his previous owners Hal,
Charles, and Mercedes, and took care of Buck until his wounds healed and he regained his strength.
But love that was feverish and burning, that was adoration, that was madness,it had taken John
Thornton to arouse (58). Buck had never experienced true love for a man, all his previous

Hardware and Project Considerations When Implementing A New CRM System The most effective
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems are deliberately designed to align and enhance
the strategic initiatives and programs of a given business or enterprise. They must take into account
customer preferences, needs and wants as well, and strive to create a foundation of shared information
and insight over time There are a myriad of studies that show how effective CRM systems are in
transforming businesses and making them more customer centric, profitable and responsive to rapidly
changing market requirements. The level of adoption and continued use of CRM systems also assures
a company s culture stays agile enough to respond to changing market conditions while also keeping
the level of expertise and knowledge about customers continually growing (Chen, Chiu, 2010).
Having a single system of record pertaining to all customer interactions give companies a competitive
advantage in that they have greater insight into how prospects make buying decisions (Wang, Feng,
2012). When implementing a CRM system there are five critical success factors that are essential to its
success and these include cost, risk, scope, time, and quality. The most effective CRM
implementations that deliver the greatest value balance all five of these factors and synchronize them
together to create strategies that deliver consistently profitable results. These five critical success
factors are essential

was elated! Today was February 4th, 2005; it was the day! This was the day that I got to finally play
dress up with my mother and baby sister. I expected this day to be the best day of my life! However, it
was also the day that changed my life for the worst.
As soon as I reached the last step, I dashed straight forward into the living room. I found my mom

I slipped out of my pajamas and put the frilly dress over my head. I skipped around the room while
watching the dress twirl around in majestic circles. After minutes upon minutes of prancing around the
room, I began to hear my stomach striking up a conversation with me. The growls could be heard a
mile away. In order to tame the hungry beast inside of my belly, I turned to my mom and asked her to
make me a bowl of Nissin Ramen noodles.
When I was younger, I believed that nothing was better than eating a tub of chicken noodles for
breakfast! My mom agreed to make me the soup, yet she gave me a simple warning before she left the
room. Tyra, she began, don t get that food from the microwave. You re gonna hurt yourself. Okay? She
always asked this of me before she cooked me a hot meal. All the other times, I actually listened to her
warning. This time, the warning went through one ear and out the other. For that reason, I recklessly
agreed to do what she had told me to do. Thinking that I would actually follow through with that
command, she headed downstairs with my sister to prepare my meal.
Since my room was upstairs and directly above the kitchen, I could hear my mom pulling glass dishes
out of one of the cabinets. I decided to change out of the princess dress because I did not want to risk
spilling soup all over it. I was a very messy eater! I took off the princess dress and shoved it back into
the trunk. While in search

Evolution Scientific Theory
What is a theory in science?
A scientific theory is an explanation of an aspect of the world, based on facts that have been frequently
confirmed through observation and experiment or is often just speculations. Is evolution just a theory?
Evolution is considered a valid scientific theory as it cannot be expressed in a concise mathematical
equation so it is referred to as a theory, which does not make it more accurate than a law. Natural
selection, comparative embryology, comparative anatomy, DNA and scientific contributions all
support the theory of evolution.
Natural selection
Natural selection is a process in nature by which organisms are better adapted to their environment
tend survive and reproduce more likely than those who are not fit for their environment. For example,

For example, embryos of many animals, from fish to humans each show similarities, which suggest a
common ancestor. In humans, it is obvious that embryos begin to develop what would have formed
into gills that our ancestors had. Embryos also develop a tail, which by the time they are born it is
gone which shows that ancestors were born with tails but we have evolved to no longer be born with a
tail. Comparative embryology also shows that many different life forms experience similar stages of
development, which points to common origins. Comparative anatomy is the study of similarities and
differences in the anatomy of different species. It is closely related to evolutionary biology and
phylogeny (evolution of species). Comparative anatomy has served evidence for evolution, which
indicates various organisms share a common ancestor. Comparative anatomy is the first line of
reasoning in determining the connection of

Madonna And Child Analysis
Portraits of the Madonna and Child depicting Mary holding the infant Christ provide a recurrent image
in art throughout the ages. In prevalent portrayals over the span of centuries, artists reflect a wide
diversity in their representations of the iconic duo. In particular, two works found in the National
Gallery of Ireland in the early Italian Renaissance gallery, The Virgin and Child, Saint John the Baptist
and Prophets by an unknown artist (1325 1450) and The Virgin and Child by Paolo Uccello (1435
1440), highlight the transition between Byzantine and early Renaissance paintings of the Madonna
and Child, particularly in relation to subject matter, composition, material, style and meaning.
Although each of these paintings of the Madonna and Child depicts the same Christian iconography of
Mary and Jesus, their differences in composition and style influence their meaning, with each painting
reflecting the individual artist who painted it and the different time period during which it was created.
The subject matter of both of these National Gallery of Ireland Madonna and Child works is
unmistakably Mary, who was assumed into heaven upon her death, and her son, Jesus Christ, born free
of original sin through the Immaculate Conception. A central icon of Christianity, Mary traditionally
exemplifies love, passion and devotion. As Mary represents universal motherhood, the subject of the
Madonna appeals to all people. Although both Madonna and Child paintings depict Mary holding

documentary is filmed with high quality cameras that made the video very interesting, the pictures that
taken from the space are very clear to see, it made it easier to observe the work of the astronomer. As
many people know the Universe is huge and it is hard for the astronomer to observe the Universe from
the Earth. However, in the documentary 400 years of Telescope the astronomer used a magnifying

To No Chujo Superiority
Superiority is defined as the state of being superior, or a supercilious manner or attitude. Murasaki
Shikibu uses the conversation between To no Chujo and Gengi in The Tale of Genji to show modern
day superiority of wealthy people. To no Chujo makes statements about the personality and wellbeing
of wealthy, middle class, and low class women throughout the conversation. He implies that only the
people in the wealthy community are worthy or significant, and that lower class individuals do not
matter at all. In chapter II, To no Chujo states, My point is that a woman who is born into nobility is
raised with the greatest care, which includes concealing her faults. So of course she s going to look
superior to other women. To no Chujo insinuates that a woman born into nobility is a better woman
than any other woman of any other social class. He thinks that women of higher class should be cared
for more and given more attention, possibly because they possess more power. In today s society,
individuals who are wealthy are put on a higher level and treated as if they are better people or citizens

no Chujo s attitude toward lower class individuals and the attitude of many people in today s society is

many people have no interest in learning about the poor which leads to a lack of knowledge about the
lower class. This may be one reason that many people look down upon poor

Diversity Reflection
The implications and understandings developed in class were a gateway in applying it to real world
work. Being given the opportunity to volunteer at The Continuum, I was able to understand the
meaning of disability in the lives of others. I saw firsthand how access, knowledge, and care can
transform a person s daily life in all aspects. With educative modules on assistive technology, culture
and care, family issues, and many others, I was able to transform my perspective and practice what I
am currently learning in the classroom. The Continuum provides a ReGenerations Adult Day Club for
individuals who may deal with Alzheimer s disease, Dementia, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Stroke
Recovery, Parkinson s disease, and M.S. . This program is fundamental in providing an array of
different care, and I found it to be beneficial for more than just their members. Through my 15 hours
of volunteer experience with The Continuum, I analyzed how a person s disability can be managed
and addressed using a variety of techniques and methods, in caring for individuals.
My first day volunteering had me nervous, but with an excited anticipation of being able to help
others, while learning. I immediately assessed the location for how they incorporated accessibility in
their framework, in regard to, the layout, doors, and general environment. It is interesting how once
you are aware of something, it easily becomes incorporated in simple daily life. I was given a brief

Compare And Contrast The Scarlet Ibis And Simon Birch
People with physical disabilities have with setbacks that make it harder for them to live normal lives
like most of the people around them. Some of these individuals learn to cope with them, try to keep a
positive mindset that helps them become better and stronger in their bodies and mind. In the story The
Scarlet Ibis and the movie Simon Birch, two boys who suffer from growing setbacks, learn to live
with their complications and persevere through their short lives while living them to the fullest and
navigating their way to accept themselves for who they are. Simon and Doodle are very similar boys
who both have the same disabilities and lifestyle, but the way they act on them and the people around
them act as a result of it is somewhat different. Both Simon and Doodle have companions by their side
throughout all or most of their lives. Simon had a best friend named Joe, who loved him for who he
was. He did not mind having a best friend who had disabilities and was not the same as everyone else.
For example, when Joe was riding his bike with Simon next to him in a cart, some men laughed at
them. Simon and Joe did not let them phase their good moods and instead answered them with a rude
remark and laughed themselves. This showed that Joe valued his friendship more than the acceptance
of society. Brother, on the other hand, hated that his brother was different. He was always trying to
change things about his younger sibling Doodle and make him more like everyone else:

Analyzing The Poem The Frog Prince
Is a poem without any specific sound easy to understand? Possibly not! In most poems, a poet uses
assonance or consonance to draw special attention to specific parts of the poem. A poem with
assonance or vowels tells the reader about how low or high the sound is, giving them a sense of the
emotion of the character or the poet at that specific part. On the other hand, consonance determines the
friction or tone of a word or line, telling the reader when to slow down or when to read faster.
Assonance and consonance helps to create rhyme in poems; a rhyme is a repeated sound at the end of
each line that unifies the structure of the poem. In the poem, The Frog Prince by Robert Pack,
assonance and consonance are repeated to create a smooth rhyme. ... Show more content on

Pitch is defined as the quality of the sound. He uses words and sounds with same pitch at the end of
every line to form a unified structure to easily catch the reader s consideration. For instance, the first
four lines end with surprise , frame , body , and name (lines 1 4, p735) and all of these words have the
sound of se (ee), me (ee), y (ee), me (ee) at the end. Since e has a high pitch, these words are very
quick to pronounce and they create a unified structure. However, line 5, The joy she must have felt to
learn , disrupts the unity of the structure, because it has an ugh sound in it which is low pitch it doesn t
rhyme well with the first four lines. To recapture, the reader s attention Pack ends line 6 and 8 with
phases such as wonder and under. These words create a rough er or rh sound which indicates a major
and drastic change in the princess life. Moreover, line 10, 12, and 14 end with a heavy dah sound. For
example, it takes a lot of energy to pronounce the following words: read , bed , and said. Overall, the
dah sound beautifully executes the dramatic shift in mood, from the frog s transformation into a prince
to the princess mother s confrontation of the prince and princess in the

Compare And Contrast Judaism And Abrahamic Religions
Christianity, Islam, and Judaism are observed throughout the world in great numbers and have many
similarities and differences. All three religions believe in the existence of a single god, but they differ
on the incarnations of the divine being. The Abrahamic religions agree on the existence of Jesus;
however, they differ on his importance. The religions also seem to differ on the idea of the afterlife.
Although the religions share many central ideas, the differences between them are what define them.
Although all three religions believe in the existence of a single god, the form that God takes differs
throughout the Abrahamic religions. In Christianity, God is perceived as the Holy Trinity. The text
describes the Holy Trinity as three equal persons within one divine being: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
(p. 201). The first pillar of Islam argues against this Christian ideal professing the unity of God saying
there is no god but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God (p. 249). Judaism agrees with Islam
with the singularity of God and believes that God is formless and ultimate holiness... (p. 169). ... Show

Hip Hop Music Mirrors All Urban Society
Hip Hop Music Mirrors All Urban Society
From 1950 to the late 1980 s, social conflicts all over the world encouraged the success of Hip Hop
due its ability to mirror the negative and positive aspects of society, and in doing this, the concept of
Hip Hop s real lyrics were very easily translated and adopted overseas. To understand Hip Hop s
ability to migrate around the world, it must be understood what Hip Hop was created out of. First,
American Urban society, from the Civil Rights Era until now has matured, creating Hip Hop s lyrics in
both its negative recap of the destruction of South Bronx and the new AIDS epidemic and positive

building innovators within its organizations.
The second leadership model that could benefit Intuitive Surgical and help with innovation in
organizations is behavioral leadership. This type of leadership moved away from who leaders where to

Introduction
The name of this article is called, Cognitive, Social and Psychological Determinants of Emotional
State. In 1962, Schachter and Singer put their two factor theory of emotion to the test. Schachter and
Singer believed that physical arousal played a huge role in emotions. They came up with one of the
earliest cognitive theories of emotion. In the experiment, they provide three main hypotheses, which
were derived from the aim of the study. The first one asks, if a person experiences a state of arousal

This was an experiment with many manipulated variables. There were two independent variables are
the information given to the subjects about the injection they were given and the situation they had to
experience. The Dependent variable is the emotional arousals of the participant. From the results, the
epinephrine had the desired effect of raising heart rate and subject ratings of tremors and palpitations.
Also, the misinformed people didn t experience any sympathetic symptoms of headaches or itchiness.
In the euphoria condition, it was clear that the subjects were drawn more to the stooge s mood and
consequently more euphoric when they had no explanation of their own body s state. Based on
behavior observations they found the same results. In the anger condition, the self report data was
suspicious because the students didn t want to express anger to the experimenter about participating in
the test. But based on behavior scores, people who were ignorant were a lot angrier than the informed
and placebo. From the results, it shows that people will assign an emotion to a physiological change
based on the available emotions in the social situation.
Analysis
In this experiment, Schachter and Singer were able to manipulate the amount of control they had. An
example of this is how they were able to assign different participants to the different conditions. They

skiddmore was extremely jelous of his older brother. The majority of the reasoning behind this is the
fact that he was allergic to bubble gum and he saw his older brother flaunting it as an insult. The fame

Carmichael s Theory Of Black Power
More than fifty years after two simple words black and power captured the nations attention, many
people still struggle with what to make of them. The concept of Black Power, despite being around for
decades, still elicits ambivalent reactions in different groups of people ranging from outright
fascination to heightened, emotionally charged memories or ideas. Oftentimes torn between
veneration and vilification of the public and private politics of Black Power adherents, much of the
middle ground is still to be conquered by great parts of the public and scholars alike. These disparate
views illustrate that after almost twenty years of revision, the new scholarship on the Black Power

Published in 2006, Peniel Joseph s first comprehensive account of the history of the Black Power
movement in the United States was written against a historiographical backdrop that paid little or
selective attention to the distinct ideological and activist roots of the Black Power advocates who rose
to influence in the late 1960s. Addressing a narrative that at best illustrated the young activists as
naïve and mislead, and at worst as criminal and self centered demagogues to be blamed for the
dissolution of the interracial civil rights coalition, Joseph centers his works around the emergence of a
rather apolitical Black Nationalism that turns its focus increasingly toward a more activist stance.
Concurrent with the evolution of Malcolm X, the politics of Black Power, Joseph argues, became
more and more politicized, culminating in separate parties, which, independently of the political
mainstream, pursued a politics of African American self determination. In contrast to those scholars
who consider the Black Power phase as part of the long civil rights movement, Joseph defines it as a

organisations exist and function within society and consequently are subject to a variety of social
influences. These influences, which include demography, social class and culture, can change over
time and affect both the demand and supply side of the economy. Marketing organisations recognise
and make use of these factors when segmenting markets for consumer goods and service Worthington,
I (2009) p.135. The social demand for chocolate varies for several reasons. One of which is a change
in the level of the population. The population of the UK is aging, people are living longer and there
are a lower percentage of children. This would indicate that although the population is increasing
because of people living longer there are fewer children, which is the main consumer for the chocolate
industry resulting in less demand for the product. Another factor is the nation becoming more health
conscious. There have been recent concerns in the press regarding the increase of type two diabetes
and its link to excess sugar in our diets. This as well as the obesity rate showing no sign of declining
has increased consumer awareness and is affecting the decisions that are made in respect to the foods
they are purchasing. People will not just buy anything that is on offer but will look for healthier

John Locke Law Of Nature
The Law of Nature is the universal concept at which most philosophers would refer to when
describing the natural state of society and humans (Joseph, 1999). The meaning of the Law of Nature
also differs from one philosopher to another. Here, Hobbes describes it as something humans of
rational thinking would try to escape even if it means subjecting oneself to absolute authority
(Baumgold, 2010).
The Social Contract has taken up a new meaning under Hobbes. Social Contract has become the
means by which Man, defined to be self interested and reasonable, escapes the Law of Nature which

prevalent ideas in England (Dienstag, 1996). For Locke, the Law of Nature, contrary to Hobbes, is a
state of perfect and complete liberty to lead one s life as best as one sees it fit; that it should be free
from any kind of interference from others (Dienstag, 1996). This is under the belief of Locke that

  • 2. Comparing Aquinas And St. Bonaventure Theology in the middle ages, was the leading fascination to the human minds especially the theologians or more specifically the scholastics. Some of the scholastics who were fascinated by God are well known and those people are St. Bonaventure and Thomas Aquinas. Thus far, the two scholastics have interesting theories on knowing god but only one is better than the other to prove that god exists. Thomas Aquinas (while disliking the idea) and St. Bonaventure try to establish this by pointing out reason, revelation and eventually knowing god. Therefore, the idea of reason should be well established by either one of the theologians. The idea of knowing god through the method of reason is how these two theologians attack this subject. Thomas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Aquinas uses the five ways to prove of the God s existence by indicating; the motion that makes things possible and makes things work, of efficient cause things happen because of a cause so that cause is God, for possibility and necessity things cannot be created so quickly therefore God is responsible for this creation of the universe, for the gradation of things anything that is created is not really perfect because of things that happen God is responsible and the final way is the governance of the world how things are ordered in the world because of God. In which this is his version of pursuing the idea of divine illumination. Bonaventure has merely the different aspect but in his way he describes how he exists is by stating the fact that we are created in God s image in this contemplation consists the perfect illumination of our mind, when, as it were, on the sixth day it sees man made to the image of God. The idea expressed by Bonaventure indicates that from the moment humans were created resembles how the people have the divine illumination of the mind. Thomas Aquinas and Bonaventure has two different minds for the unity or the separation of the divine ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Loewen Case Study (Memo Format) Mr. Loewen After some careful consideration and examination, I recommend that we accept SCI s bid of $43 per share. My recommendation is based upon my assessment of four things: * Our position after the Mississippi case settlement * Our financial situation * Our business model * SWOT and Industry Analysis First, the Mississippi case has somewhat damaged our company s image and may portray us as a company that does not honor legal agreements. Not only was a contract broken that brought the case originally, but so was the settlement as a number of the subject to provisions were not met. If this be the case, then it could stand to reason that we may be viewed as untrustworthy in other agreements. Being that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These financial issues lead me to my next point; our business model and its effect on our financial situation. While our model of leaving as much individuality of our acquisitions in place as possible; allowing previous business arrangements, staffing levels and management to continue has been effective in building our reputation, efficiency has suffered. By not standardizing things such as automobile fleet usage and sharing facilities, we are incurring more administrative expense than is really necessary. By not centralizing purchasing across the board the company is not taking full advantage of economies of scale. As growth continues the administration of costs and the different contracts will become nightmarish. Expenses as % of total revenue are beginning to move up and currently stand at their highest level (18%). A move away from this model, especially after the image issues I mentioned earlier, may further damage our reputation as being the preferred acquirer. To further complicate such a move is our acquisition of numerous rural homes which will present a problem to the logistics of integrating services, etc. efficiently. Finally, SWOT and Five Forces analysis point to an increasingly competitive industry that will be experiencing substantial profit margin pressure as buyers gather more power due ... • 5. Causes Of The Opium Wars The Opium Wars were a series of conflicts that eventually led to China s decline through the trade and abuse of the drug opium. The first of the Opium Wars (1839 42) was fought between China and Britain, and the second war (1856 1860) involved France as well. In both wars, the foreign powers triumphed over China, causing havoc, causing the fall of the Qing dynasty. • 6. The Arab Spring During The Middle East And North African... The Arab Spring brought revolutionary changes to the Middle East and North African region s authoritarian republics while bypassing its autocratic monarchies. The monarchical exceptionalism that has allowed these states to remain intact is due to a set of three overlapping factors crosscutting coalitions, hydrocarbon rents, and foreign patronage. Collectively, these factors explain why most of the royal autocracies never experienced widespread protest. The eight Arab monarchies Jordan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and the Persian Gulf states of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the UAE hold near absolute power. According to the Gause article, none of the states qualify as constitutional kingships in which the enthroned incumbent exercises only ceremonial influence while an elected parliamentary government makes policy. The region s kings and emirs not only reign but they also rule. They are the lead decision makers in naming cabinets, determining major domestic and foreign policies, controlling the state s coercive apparatus, and allowing parliaments and judiciaries limited authority (Gause). According to Gause, the first element of the strategic explanation for monarchical exceptionalism is one that links the historical legacy of domestic choices with a permissive international environment. The majority of the monarchies have used the tool of crosscutting coalitions thereby linking alliances of different social constituencies to the ruling family. In general, dictators cannot ... It is widely believed that one s own destiny is created by fate. However, some also consider the possibility that one s own choices can determine the reality of one s existence. In Harry Potter, JK Rowling uses fate and choice as forces which shape the events revolving around her protagonist, Harry Potter, as well as the other characters in the story. Murasaki Shikibu uses the conversation between To no Chujo and Gengi in The Tale of Genji to show modern day superiority of wealthy people. To no Chujo makes statements about the personality and wellbeing of wealthy, middle class, and low class women throughout the conversation. He implies that only the people in the wealthy community are worthy or significant, and that lower class individuals do not matter at all. In chapter II, To no Chujo states, My point is that a woman who is born into nobility is raised with the greatest care, which includes concealing her faults. So of course she s going to look superior to other women. To no Chujo insinuates that a woman born into nobility is a better woman than any other woman of any other social class. With educative modules on assistive technology, culture and care, family issues, and many others, I was able to transform my perspective and practice what I am currently learning in the classroom. Through my 15 hours of volunteer experience with The Continuum, I analyzed how a person s disability can be managed and addressed using a variety of techniques and methods, in caring for individuals. My first day volunteering had me nervous, but with an excited anticipation of being able to help others, while learning. Simon and Doodle are very similar boys who both have the same disabilities and lifestyle, but the way they act on them and the people around them act as a result of it is somewhat different. Both Simon and Doodle have companions by their side throughout all or most of their lives. Simon had a best friend named Joe, who loved him for who he was. He did not mind having a best friend who had disabilities and was not the same as everyone else. For example, when Joe was riding his bike with Simon next to him in a cart, some men laughed at them. Simon and Joe did not let them phase their good moods and instead answered them with a rude remark and laughed themselves. This showed that Joe valued his friendship more than the acceptance of society. Brother, on the other hand, hated that his brother was different. • 30. Analyzing The Poem The Frog Prince Is a poem without any specific sound easy to understand? Possibly not! In most poems, a poet uses assonance or consonance to draw special attention to specific parts of the poem. A poem with assonance or vowels tells the reader about how low or high the sound is, giving them a sense of the emotion of the character or the poet at that specific part. On the other hand, consonance determines the friction or tone of a word or line, telling the reader when to slow down or when to read faster. Assonance and consonance helps to create rhyme in poems; a rhyme is a repeated sound at the end of each line that unifies the structure of the poem. All three religions believe in the existence of a single god, but they differ on the incarnations of the divine being. The Abrahamic religions agree on the existence of Jesus; however, they differ on his importance. The religions also seem to differ on the idea of the afterlife. Although the religions share many central ideas, the differences between them are what define them. Although all three religions believe in the existence of a single god, the form that God takes differs throughout the Abrahamic religions. In Christianity, God is perceived as the Holy Trinity. The text describes the Holy Trinity as three equal persons within one divine being: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (p. 201). The first pillar of Islam argues against this Christian ideal professing the unity of God saying there is no god but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God (p. 249). Oftentimes torn between veneration and vilification of the public and private politics of Black Power adherents, much of the middle ground is still to be conquered by great parts of the public and scholars alike. Addressing a narrative that at best illustrated the young activists as naïve and mislead, and at worst as criminal and self centered demagogues to be blamed for the dissolution of the interracial civil rights coalition, Joseph centers his works around the emergence of a rather apolitical Black Nationalism that turns its focus increasingly toward a more activist stance. Concurrent with the evolution of Malcolm X, the politics of Black Power, Joseph argues, became more and more politicized, culminating in separate parties, which, independently of the political mainstream, pursued a politics of African American self determination. • 40. John Locke Law Of Nature The Law of Nature is the universal concept at which most philosophers would refer to when describing the natural state of society and humans (Joseph, 1999). The meaning of the Law of Nature also differs from one philosopher to another. Here, Hobbes describes it as something humans of rational thinking would try to escape even if it means subjecting oneself to absolute authority (Baumgold, 2010). The Social Contract has taken up a new meaning under Hobbes. Social Contract has become the means by which Man, defined to be self interested and reasonable, escapes the Law of Nature which was described to be intolerable. That Man, is willing to give up his freedom just to lead a civil life which is more conducive for his self interests. Locke John Locke is one of the most influential thinkers of his time. His work, Two Treatises on Government, inspired the founding fathers of the United States of America and contradicted the prevalent ideas in England (Dienstag, 1996). For Locke, the Law of Nature, contrary to Hobbes, is a state of perfect and complete liberty to lead one s life as best as one sees it fit; that it should be free from any kind of interference from others (Dienstag, 1996). This is under the belief of Locke that everyone is equally created by God and therefore has equal freedom to pursue his personal interests. Although, this does not mean that anyone is free to harm and trespass one another. This is for the same reason that only God has the right to take away ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
