Democratic And Republican Candidates For President Of The...
As I write this book, Democratic and Republican candidates are getting in position to run for the
President of the United States in 2016. Hillary Clinton was the first Democrat to throw her hat in the
ring and right away the Republican Party began attacking her for using her personal email and
business email together. They also more than insinuated that she had deleted some of the emails from
the server she had at her home and accused her of lying about it. However, whether she did or didn t
delete some of her emails is irrelevant to me because most if not all politicians lie in one form or
another to protect their interest. That s just a fact! I know some of you will raise your eyebrows and
say, I can t believe she said that...well, I did and I mean it. In Hillary s position, I don t believe I would
have turned all my emails over to anyone. I can remember coming in late to my job one day and found
that my computer had been hijacked by the compliance and auditing department. I was given some lie
about someone had gone to the press and put out bad or negative information about the company and I
was told that I and a few others were thought to be among the culprits. At the time, I can recall feeling
a tremendous invasion of privacy and I didn t believe I had done anything to raise any suspicion about
me. However, it took me ten years, after leaving the company, to figure out that I was told a lie and
that I was in fact, being investigated. Why, well it all goes

Bridgestone Opportunity Assessment
Dr. Deming, The IT Project Management Office at Bridgestone Americas Inc. has possible
opportunities for improving organizational performance. I will provide an opportunity assessment in
the six major areas. First, in the area of communication network, everybody has to be on the same
page for the network effectiveness. In my department we an opportunity to improve the who needs to

Essay on French Colonialism and Vietnam
Unlike many other European countries that sought out the territory in Southeast Asia merely for
increasing their power through trade, the French first began interactions with the region as early as the
17th century. Alexandre De Rhodes began an expedition to the Southeast Asia region with the desire
to expand the Jesuit missionaries throughout the region to further their belief. For many years until the
18th century, the Jesuits expanded and created many missionaries throughout the region. The 18th
century had brought an astronomical expansion in the trading markets throughout Europe and Asia as
all the European superpowers began colonizing all of Southeast Asia to further their trading empires.
The French would also begin to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
De Genouilly was found to be using inappropriate war strategies during his campaign, especially
while undertaking Saigon, which resulted in his dismissal in 1859. De Genouilly would be replaced by
Admiral Page who had been instructed by the French government to not make any more territorial
gains in Vietnam for the French. Page was to only use military action if the catholic missionaries in
the region were under any threat. Even though this was what he was ordered to do, this did not last
very long as the French under Page began to take over more provinces. On April 13th, 1862 the
Vietnamese ceded three additional provinces to the French. Then just a year later, the king of
Cambodia exchanged control over the Battambang and the Siem Reap for French protection over
Cambodia from the threatening Asian powers. Things would remain relatively under control for the
French until 1884 when the Chinese would challenge the French s ambition to control the Tonkin
region (Northern Vietnam.) The first of many wars to follow in between the 19th and 20th century for
the French was the Sino French war which lasted between 1884 and 1885. The French believed that
the Northern region of Vietnam, Tonkin, should be placed under their control as they had control over
the regions surrounding it. The Chinese who controlled Tonkin disputed this claim and a very short

Language Loss
As we increasingly realize that our own self destruction is inevitable in the destruction of the planet,
the insular notion of Western modernity as the height of human progress is finally being questioned.
However, the resultant paradox is that although we realize the resultant flaws of depending on one
form of progress, the only alternatives that we could turn to are dying off of the face of the earth. Thus
the global trend of language loss is an issue incredibly worthy of long overdue attention; it may in fact
be our last meaningful alternative to rescue the plight of humanity s survival. As a repository of
knowledge, an expression of culture, and a symbolic embodiment of a way of life, the loss of a
language speaks for itself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As both a by product of their amalgamated colonial imagination and their equally delusional scientific
minds, Canada became a laboratory to be poked, measured, defined and prepared for extraction back
to continue the fervent industrialization of Europe (Rigney 1999: 109). The colonial mentality is
highlighted in their sense of property. Colonialists believed that property had to be enacted; it is as
much a physical reality as it is constant aspiration to control. In their minds, property is a verb that
must be put to work in order to define it (Blomley: 566). This is in accordance of the influential
perspective of John Locke, who helped to ingrain the belief that if the land was not being used, it is
being wasted. Thus the divine commons was rendered private property, Eden sank to grief and our
natural world was at the mercy of man s endless attempt to control and accrue all that they could from
their surroundings (Blomey: 561).
Just as Language is a creation of the natural world, it is the architect of sustaining meaning for a
culture. Therefore in its use, language is also a system of power that allows the meanings imparted by
cultural hegemony to endure and endure themselves (Focault: 22). Although this cultural lineage now
dominates the world s sense of progress, not all people believe in this once sense of reality. On the
margins of modernity, some people s resilient existence stands as testimony

Noah And The Frogs Essay
Despite the fact that several fables and the bible were written in two completely different time periods
they are still are relatable in the sense that one of their main purposes is to teach the individuals
reading or listening to them a moral lesson or a cardinal virtue. The presence of the cardinal virtue
prudence is evident in both Genesis book six, the story of Noah, and the fable Jupiter and the Frogs.
From these stories we are able to distinguish that when prudence is found at just the right amount
characters find themselves in rewarding situations, on the other hand, if too much prudence (vanity) is
retained then punishment tends to follow. The story of Noah and the Frogs are very similar in the
sense that several characters seem ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Upon receiving their gift the frogs ... showered their king with shame and scorn... (Aesop 626), a clear
sign of vanity perceiving that they deserve more than they had received, in turn becoming ungrateful.
Similarly, as the human race is growing and flourishing, ... the lord saw that the evil of the human
creatures was great on earth (Alter 163). Both Jupiter and God saw it fit to punish their creations for
their despicable behavior by sending things to kill them. However, Jupiter gave his creations an
opportunity to prove that they were demanding and dissatisfied before he made a rash decisions. Once
he was aware that they were indeed selfish he sent the message you rejected what s good in order to
get something bad, you had better put up with it or else something even worse might happen (Aseop
626). Jupiter severs this message to the frogs and the readers, he informs us that we better be grateful
for what we ve been given because we often become unaware of just how good our lives are. God, on
the other hand, took precautionary measure to ensure that the evil wouldn t spread more than it already
had. He made the decision to start over with humans with the hopes of getting it right the second time.

Working Memory Experiment
Working memory is defined as memory that is involved in our everyday tasks. It is the active and
temporary representation of information that is maintained for the short term in one s mind to help
decide what to do next (Gluck, 344). Working memory is a very pivotal part of our lives, because it is
this memory that helps us stay on our feets. Working memory works in different ways with every
individual. It has its own processes and there are significant working memory differences in every age
group from younger adults to older adults. This memory can also be called short term memory. This
paper will investigate the differences of working memory between younger and older adults, use
articles to show how various experiments explain the deficits of working memory in older adults, and
show how working memory is strongly needed in mathematical tasks with schoolchildren. Let s start
with some background information about working memory and how it is utilized in everyday life.
Working memory refers to a brain system, or mental workspace, responsible for temporarily storing
and manipulating information. It is different from short term memory, where information is stored and

short term intervals, experiment 2 utilized mixed and blocked test designs to examine the effect of test

test blocks. Finally, an age related associative deficit was found in Exp. 3, under both sequential and
simultaneous presentation conditions. Even while accounting for some methodological issues, the
associative deficit of older adults is evident in short term/working memory.

Dont Judge a Book by the Cover Essay
You Can t Tell
Many people feel that you can tell a lot about a person by observing what they wear and what they eat.
This is not the case. Choice of clothing and eating habits, in no way, allow you to pass judgment on a
person. Judging people based on these factors is extremely shallow. What one wears and eats in no
way depicts character, behavior, or even intelligence. One simply cannot know a person by looking at
them and observing what they eat. Such a thought is ridiculous.
Instead of looking at clothing and what one is eating, character should be the basis for opinion.
Judging a book by the cover only leads to surprises, and in this case, judging a human by dress can
lead to surprises as well. Just ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wearing nice clothes and eating fancy food means nothing if the person behaves like a child. A person
wearing dirty clothes and eating out of the garbage may behave better. This is why prejudging people
can often wrong. A bum with good manners and behavior would be more pleasant to be around than a
rich, snob with no manners and horrible behavior. One cannot have a full outlook on an individual by
just viewing their dress and eating habits. Looking at someone s clothing or what is in their
refrigerator does not depict behavior.
By seeing what one wears and eats in no way allows you to know if the person is intelligent. Crazy as
it sounds, some bums are educated, smart people. These bums eating from garbage s may even carry a
conversation better than someone wearing a business suit and eating Red Lobster every night. An
intelligent person could simply choose not to care about dress. Not all smart people conform to what
society feels is appropriate. Some may choose to dress like bums simply because they don t care. It
doesn t mean they re any less smart or have less money. It could mean that such petty things do not get
to this person. To me this shows tremendous strength. Intelligence cannot be judged by observing one
s clothing and eating habits.

Christian Belief Research Paper
Sources for Christian belief are those things that deliver information about God and act as vehicles for
what God reveals. Norms are standards by which any information is tested to be accurate and true.
Charles Wesley describes these sources and norms for Christian belief as Scripture, Tradition, Reason,
Experience.1 Although he was not the first, what he articulated came to be known as the Wesleyan
Quadrilateral. To sum this up, Christians believe in many things for a wide variety of reasons and the
importance of sources and norms are vehicles to a Christian s way of thinking in what to belief in and

Jesus declared to his disciples the Holy Spirit will teach you all things and will remind you of
everything I have said to you. 3 The writings of those apostles and their associates came to be
considered by the churches as possessing the same authority as the Law and Prophets (Old Testament).
However, the Bible is for Christianity the most authoritative and respected source directly available
for correct theological information. It acts as a standard by which none can contradict. Just as it would
be unthinkable for a U.S. Supreme Court judge to say, The constitution says all Americans should
have the freedom of speech, but disagree! 4 So it would be unthinkable for a Christian to deny the
teaching of Scripture. To be faithful to Christian doctrine one must be faithful to Scripture.
The ultimate source and norm would be for all Christian faith and practice through Jesus Christ
himself. God s revelation to the Hebrew prophets and in the apostolic witness to Jesus Christ as
carried forth in God s written, inspired Word, the Bible, and as distilled in the essence of the Rule of
Faith is Christianity s ultimate source and final norm for faith and life.5 Luther described Christ as the

The Struggles of Families in Poverty in The Jungle, by...
In twentieth century America the history of poverty begins with most working people living on the
edge of destitution, periodically short of food, fuel, clothing, and shelter (Poverty in 20th Century
America). Poverty possesses the ability to completely degrade a person, as well as a family, but it can
also make that person and family stronger. In The Jungle, by Upton Sinclair, a family of immigrants
has to live in severe poverty in Packingtown, a suburb of Chicago. The poverty degrades the family
numerous times, and even brings them close to death. Originally the family has each other to fall back
on, but eventually members of the family must face numerous struggles on their own, including
hoboing it and becoming a prostitute. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Language further hinders the family.
Poverty also has detrimental effects on families. Poor children possess a greater risk for iron
deficiency, stunted growth, and asthma. For parents struggling to raise a child, poverty adds extensive
stress to the family (Driscoll). As a result of constantly working, Jurgis rarely spends time with his
son, Antanas. However, when he suffers an injury he finally gets this opportunity, So Jurgis would
begin to forget and be happy, because he was in a world where there was a thing so beautiful as the
smile of little Antanas (Sinclair 134 135). While the family remains intact, they do not remain that
way for very long. Jonas leaves the family before long, and eventually Jurgis leaves the family as well.
No , she answered, I don t blame you. We never have any of us. You did your best the job was too
much for us (Sinclair 332). Marija clearly gave up hope for their family long ago.
Another aspect of poverty remains the way a person looks at the family. Regardless of a person s self
confidence and secureness, one cannot help but to care about another person s opinion. The family
receives the evil eye all the time. Jurgis even gets blacklisted from Packingtown, taking away his
ability to get a job and support the family. This occurs as a result of Jurgis protecting his wife from her
boss who imposed his will on her. They gazed at him with pitying eyes poor devil, he was
blacklisted!... he could never

Companionship In Guardians Of The Galaxy
I have lived most of my life surrounded by my enemies, I will be grateful to die among my friends,
(Guardians of the Galaxy). Gamora exclaims this to her worried friends as they are about to battle
against Ronen. When she makes this statement it sets the overall theme of companionship.
Companionship is the good feeling you get when you are with someone else (Companionship). It is
having someone by your side that makes you feel cared for. Family, friends, and lovers are people who
promote the feeling of companionship. They are by your side when you need them and they help you
in your struggles. In the movie Guardians of the Galaxy companionship is shown through expressions
and actions of the characters, soundtrack, and the repetition of the importance of family.
First of all, the movie Guardians of the Galaxy is a film about a group of unique characters who take
on a villain, and save their galaxy. The main character Peter Quill, who goes by the name Star lord,
was abducted as a child, and taken into a new galaxy. He is raised by a bandit, named Yondu, ... Show

Fast And Slow By Daniel Kahneman
In selected chapters of Thinking, Fast and Slow, Daniel Kahneman challenges the traditional
economic utility model by presenting the prospect theory, where pecuniary variables are no longer the
only determinants. George A. Akerlof and Richel E. Kranton support this challenge by providing two
economic analysis models that include identity as an important variable. While Kahneman focuses
primarily on individuals inability to make decisions based on profit determined utility values, Akerlof
and Kranton emphasize that motivation associated with identity is the missing component of the
traditional utility model.
In order to demonstrate flaws of the traditional view, Kahneman supports three principles of prospect
theory with various examples. First, by pointing out errors in Bernoulli s model and the indifferent
model, Kahneman emphasizes the broad range of the reference point, that it is not only the change of
wealth, but also the context and the mindset. Second, Kahneman analyzes loss aversion, one of the
dominant mindsets. Third, Kahneman argue that sensitivity has great impact on decision making by
providing gambling cases of rare and risky events. With the knowledge of these three principles,
Kahneman further implies that people can be trained to against these intuitive system one thinking
patterns.
While acknowledging the limitation of the prospect theory, that it fails to deal with disappointment
and regret, Kahneman neglects the effect of emotions that human

Beyond Fear, Beyond Death, By J. K. Rowling
J.K. Rowling once said, There s always room for a story that can transport people to another place.
This is a quote from a very famous author saying how people who don t read should start reading
because in your mind you can picture how the story goes and it will teach you something. People do
need to start reading more often because sometimes the books you will read if their fiction or
nonfiction it can help you in school. Some people don t understand how reading is important. There
are several relationships that caused J.K. Rowling s adverse situation as well as helped. One
relationship that caused Rowling s adversity was with her family. According to the website Beyond
Fear, Beyond Death, when J.K. Rowling was born July 31, 1965, her parents Peter and Anne Volant
Rowling were expecting a boy. When they found out they got a girl instead they were not happy about
it. Then two years later her parents had another daughter and they named her Dianne but they cared
more for her then Joanne, and that made her feel that no one cared about her. She felt sad, and the
quote she said. I went up to my room and wept (Wirawan n.pag). Because of how her life was going,
she had suicidal feelings and nothing got after years went on. Another relationship was with her ex
husband Jorge Arantes. She stopped writing Harry Potter for awhile, moved to Portugal and worked as
an English teacher, and then she married Jorge in 1992. They had a daughter together the same year.

Failure Is Failure
Failure is an option Every successful entrepreneur must be have this traits which is failure is an option
. Failure is an option can be define as when you do something wrong, you learn from it, and try to

Theme Of The Signalman And The Signalman
In Gothic Literature, writers are able to choose between traditional and contemporary. This style of
writing typically relates back to fiction that gives an atmosphere of uncertainty by featuring horror,
death, curses or the supernatural. In The Signalman written by Charles Dickens, we can depict that his
writing falls under the category of traditional gothic literature as he chooses to stress the fear of the
unknown whether it be the setting or the supernatural. On the contrary, Roald Dahl who wrote Lamb
to the Slaughter chooses to write under the category of contemporary gothic literature, as we are
introduced to a familiar setting, and common issues that arise when we face reality. Nevertheless, both
stories choose to emphasize the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For Dickens, the recurrence of insanity would make sense as his style of writing tends to include the
supernatural and the paranormal, however, for Dahl, the recurrence of insanity would come as a shock
to many since contemporary gothic literature includes more events that familiar and realistic. Dickens
characters insanity can be seen in the quote How your imagination misleads you because once the
Signalman saw the individual that appeared to him, his mind began racing with thoughts that seemed
to overwhelm him. He couldn t think straight as his mind was focused on figuring out what it was and
why it seemed to warn him, and this ultimately led to his demise. By zooming in on the word misleads
, it evidently shows us how he was involuntarily submerged with thoughts that drowned him and how
failing to control his sanity led to his downfall, and later, his death. Additionally, the quote May have
been infection in his mind similarly shows us how the appearance of the individual almost triggered
this thought that infected his mind and rid him of thoughts that were unperturbed. He thought that he
was seeing things, and not experiencing them, and because of that, he had a strenuous yet continuous
fight with his judgment and let it overcome him easily. By zooming into the word infection , we see

The Pros And Cons Of The Schlieffen Plan
The Schlieffen Plan The Germans thought that they might have to go to war with Russia. If this would

Schlieffen Plan was a plan to avoid a war on two fronts against Russia and France. The plan itself

Familiarity Principle/ Mere Exposure Effect
One example of how evolutionary perspectives can inform social psychological research is the

The Causes and Effects of Deforestation in Tropical Rainforests
Tropical rainforests are the most alive places on earth. Covering less than 12% of the land s surface,
the rainforests are home to more than half of all living species (Lewis, 4). 90% of all non primates
reside in tropical rainforests. Two thirds of known plants, 40% birds of prey, and 80% of all insects are
found only in tropical rainforests. Of the 2.5 to 5 million animals species thought to exist, only about
one half have been identified to date. The vast majority of rainforests are found in Brazil (Amazon),
South Asia, Africa, and Central America. (WRM, 16).

Most rainforest life grows and dwells in this layer. It is a tangled mass of vines, treetops, and other
plants, and rises about 100 130 feet above the floor. The understorey rises about 50 80 feet, and it is
made up of shrubs, bushes, seedlings, and saplings. Because of a lack of light, the forest floor is
typically bare. Only some scattering of leaves, decaying plant matter, and other small plants can be
found on the rainforest floor. (Lewis, 16).
Each layer of the rainforest is a unique habitat, and animals from one layer rarely venture into another
one. Mammals such as elephants, deer, and tiger dwell on the forest floor. Primates such as gibbons,
howler monkeys, and chimpanzees dwell in trees. Other tree dwellers include sloth, squirrels, mice.
One out of three bird species in the world nest in rainforests about 2,600 species in all. These exotic
birds, such as toucans, hornbills, and fly catchers, form a massive array of color against the green
background. (Lewis, 20 21).
Relationships between organisms in the rainforest is a complex web of intimate connections and
interdependencies. For example, insects pollinate a large variety of plants, which in turn are food for
other insects and herbivores. Insects and herbivores are food for birds and carnivores. These predators
keep populations in check as well as recycle nutrients to plants

Narrative Essay On A Little Birdie
A Little Birdie My doubles partner, Nicole, and I were in the middle of our championship game. At
this break our coach came over to us and said, This is the last game you two will play together, make it
memorable. We did a quick laugh, but then reality hit us. That phrase was all we needed. We could
faintly hear the other players gym shoes squeaking on the gym floor the sound of scampering mice.
Mostly though, we heard silence. Our parents, coaches, and teammates were dead silent, but we knew
they were screaming nervously on the inside. The plastic scent of birdies engulfed the air around us.
The birdie shot passed me. Out! I yelled. As I picked up the birdie, the corky material of it just sat in

would have one heck of a story to tell. We lost the first game. Thank God it s best two out of three, I
said to Nicole. That first game was so close, we definitely have this one, said Nicole. Standing there
on the court, mid game, I was experiencing a mixture of fear, hope, and a little nausea. I awaited the

We would lose. Little did we know that that was not the case. I hit the bird. They returned. My partner
comes around the side and smashes it right back. It s our turn to show them what we are made of I
thought. Nicole and I turned around for a few seconds after receiving the point to chat about our next
strategy. We decided to change up the pace. One serve slow, the next fast. We continued the different
paces but in an irregular, random order to keep the opponents confused and off guard. This was the
best choice we ever made I thought to myself. Within minutes we had stolen the game. The match was

American Culture Vs Vietnamese Culture
The United States and Vietnam have almost opposite cultural systems under Hofstede s cultural
dimensions. There are four main categories which is a power distance, uncertainty avoidance,
masculinity or feminine, and individualism or collectivism. Vietnamese has a high power distance
when the US have much lower power distance. For instance, they respect others by their ages because
of their culture. Usually an elder man is the most powerful person in a family and a decision maker.
Parents didn t used to allow to speak up anything from their children and also some physical violence

They don t call other s name without Mr. Ms. in Vietnamese. Even for younger people, they have a
word for it. They have very interesting verbal communication style which is they avoid to say no in
their conversation because it would be disrespectful. For instance, if someone invites you to a party
and you won t be able to go, but still you should say yes at the moment. Even if they said yes, they
might not show up. The host won t get mad or upset in a situation. In their culture, it s better for them
just not showing up with yes answer instead of saying no in person because they want to keep their

The Sonnet By Sir Thomas Wyatt
Many people are familiar with poetry; they understand their basic concepts and know that some differ
in their size and how they rhyme. What some people may not know is that poems are categorized and
there are many different types of groups within poetry. There are various types of poetry which
include the sonnet. The sonnet was introduced by an Italian poet named Francesco Petrarch (1304
1374) who introduced the creation in the 13th century (Applebee 295). He wrote over 300 love
sonnets, a great number of them were dedicated to a woman named Laura. Centuries passed in which
sonnets were not as popular; his work was later rediscovered by two lovelorn poets. Their names were
Sir Thomas Wyatt (1503 1542) and Henry Howard, earl of Surrey (1517 1547). They changed some of
the rhyme scheme to tie in with the English language; Shakespeare went on to write many sonnets, he
was very good and left a huge impact on the style of poetry.
Later, an already famous poet, Edmund Spenser, kept the love based poems alive by continuing to
write in the 15th century; he went on to change how they poem rhymed and had his style of writing
named after him. Enough with its history, a sonnet is a structured poem that consists of 14 lines. There
is no limitation on how long each line has to be in size; but they do all have one thing in common,
there must be ten syllables per line. The poem is then divided into three quatrains; which is just a big
word for a four lined unit. The final two lines are

Compare And Contrast Fodo And Beowulf
Often, people do not see Frodo as the hero in The Fellowship of The Ring. Some see the hero being
Aragon. He fits the more typical hero standard of strong, courageous, and strategic. Aragon can be
compared to Beowulf. He is the main character, in the epic Beowulf, that Tolkien translated. An article
describes Beowulf as, He is peerlessly noble, brave, and strong. Each of his hands have a grip equal to
that of thirty men. He is alone in the World (Acocella). Both characters seem as they could take on the
world by themselves. Aragon perhaps could not. He knew he was not strong enough to withstand
temptation of the ring. Like Aragon, Beowulf had a weakness too. It was his ego. He would often get

The Negative Effects Of Animal Testing
Animal testing has been around since 500 BC starting with dissecting animals in ancient greece.
French animal testers believed that animals were automata and could not feel pain or emotions. There
was no public objections to animal testing until the 19th century when there was an increase of
adopting domestic pets. Nowadays public opinion is split down the middle on whether or not animals
should be tested on. The animals are generally tested on for cosmetics, health, commercial,
biomedical, space and military purposes. People for animal testing think of it as a way to save human
and animal lives, and that there is no other way to get this good of data. They also believe that the
strict rules prevent any mistreatment of the animals. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With only using petri dishes scientists are not able to find all the affects, for example loss in eyesight
can not be tested with only using it on tissue sample(Kara Rogers). Animal testing benefits the animals
themselves too. The American Veterinary Medical Association actually supports animal testing, in
many cases the tests on animals have saved many species from becoming extinct like the california
condor, and the tamarins(American Association).
People opposed to animal testing will say that it is inhumane and cruel. Animals in the tests are said to
be force feed, and forced inhalation, they also are forced to have cosmetics dropped into their eyes to
see the outcome. The US Department of agriculture said that around 97,123 animals in 2010 suffered
during testing, and were not given antithetic. We can now test in other ways that do not include
animals, like in vitro testing. We can also use human volunteers, and only use enough that it does not
severely damage them. There are also computer simulations that will show how it affects the body.
Drugs that pass animal testing are not necessarily safe, like in the 1950 s a sleeping pill was shown to
cause birth defects even though it had been tested by animals.
Although the opposing side has many intriguing arguments, animal testing is still the most plausible
way to better the general health of the population. In order to better the conditions of the

Why Did Tsar Nicholas II Survive The 1905 Revolution
Tsar Nicholas II and 1905 Revolution
The Tsar (Nicholas II) survived the 1905 revolution. However, the revolution in 1917 did remove him
from power. When asking why Nicholas II survived 1905 there are numerous factors to examine. Both
revolutions had extremely similar conditions. Levels of dissatisfaction, strikes and the country moving
towards a wartime economy are all examples. It is also important to see small differences which gave
the two events such contrasting outcomes and determined the survival and the fall of the Tsar.

in the Tsar was ill founded.
The same conditions did not exist in 1917. The people were under no illusion as to how the Tsar felt
about them. During the February Revolution, strikers carried slogans such as Down with the autocracy
written on them. With no support from the masses, Nicholas II had lost a key ally in his battle to
remain in power.
On the 30th of October he issued the October Manifesto , this proved enough to satisfy many,
especially the middle class who withdrew their support for the strike leading to its collapse. The
apparent release of some of his total power proved to be crucial to the Tsar s survival, as the people

Maybe one needs to catch this reality of continuous changing by remembering that companies can no
more stand to freeze structures and frameworks into a permanent state. Weick and Quinn (1999) used
the term episodic to allude to change that are rare, intermittent and deliberate. As per Weick and Quinn
(1999), pictures of associations that are better with rambling change incorporate those constructed
around the thought of Punctuated Equilibria. The focal dispute of the punctuated equilibrium model is
that change includes moving over and over again between long stretches of dependability and short
blast of radical (far reaching) change. The punctuated balance model is in the forefront of educational
theory it is out of sight of the knowledge of numerous firms. Truth be told, numerous firms contend by
evolving persistently. For some associations, the capacity to change quickly and consistently,
particularly by presenting fresher ideas is rising as a center skill. (Jackie Jeffery Rebecca Mathews,

disconnected. It is here where uniqueness between the associations begins to happen, bringing about
slackening of their connections; as a radical period is experienced; say as far as a sudden innovative

Persuasive Essay On Black Footed Ferrets
Black footed ferrets are finally making a comeback! Almost thirty years, organizations have been
helping the black footed ferrets regain status. You will be learning about the amazing black footed
ferrets, the objectives of the Endangered Species Act, strategies to help the ferrets, threats of the
ferrets, who is helping them, and how they are helping the ferrets.
There are approximately 750 wild ferrets and roughly 350 in captivity around North America. They
have a long tan body with black legs and feet; they also have a black head with a little bit of black on
the back of their bodies. The black footed ferrets rely on prairie dogs and their colonies to provide
shelter and food. These animals live mostly in a grassland habitat. A grassland habitat is basically an
open prairie with minimal rainfall. Black footed ferrets are part of the weasel family. There used to be
tens of thousands of black footed ferrets but by the 1960s they became almost extinct. Most frequent
meals for a ferret are prairie dogs. They will also dine on rodents, different types of squirrels, birds,
and rabbits. They once lived throughout the United States (U.S.), Canada, and Mexico. Now the new
population has been introduced to 8 U.S. states, Canada, and Mexico.
Most of a ferret s life is spent underground. 90% of the time they are underground eating, sleeping, or
raising their young. They are also nocturnal which means that they only go out of their homes at night.

A study conducted by Bohdanowicz shows that and average hotel produces more than one kilogram of
waste per guest per day and that approximately thirty percent of this waste can be reused or recycled.
The first step to minimising waste management within the context of house keeping is by
implementing an extensive waste management system to sort recyclables from general waste,
Bohdanowicz (2005) claims that such an implementation can minimise unsorted waste from three
kilograms per guest per night to half a kilogram. Another prominent example of how the Luxor
Melbourne can minimise their waste output is by offering their unwanted furniture, linen and towels to
charities or those who are less fortunate who would put the materials to better use and minimise
operational costs.
The final aspect of the Luxor Melbourne will be focusing on to create a sustainable hotel environment
is its energy consumption. According to Gossling (2005 pp.426) the average energy consumption per
bed per night in hotels is in the order of 130 mega joules to facilitate energy intense facilities such as
restaurants and pools. Gossling s (2005) studies have determined that major hotels can emit on
average 20.6kg of carbon dioxide per night, which is a staggering number in which the Luxor
Melbourne hopes to diminish.

Bioindicators of Strawberry Creek Edar Liu, Cindy Sandoval Espinoza, Ethan Schlatter, Weirui Xiao
October 9, 2016 Biology 1B, Section 224, Group 1 Abstract: Through our research we aimed to
determine if there were any differences in water quality of both the north and south forks of
Strawberry Creek. As time progresses and the environment changes it is important to keep track of
how certain species are being impacted by these features, and how they cope with change. We
hypothesized that due to the lack of pollution, the south fork will promote a greater diversity of
macroinvertebrates. This was due to the fact that there was less runoff and trash that could be
introduced to the water in the south fork, than there was in the north fork. We gathered data by
analyzing the different organisms living in both forks. We collected a total of fifty vials composed of
five organisms from each fork, and inspected them under microscopic view. After gathering data and
identifying the different kinds of organisms living in the different forks we assessed whether the
organisms from the samples could live in high or low resolution water. We also took a t test to assess
the probability of these differences being due to relevant factors or by chance. Our major findings
suggest that organisms in the south fork showed a higher demand to living in cleaner water indicating
that our hypothesis was correct. Introduction: Urbanization has a longstanding legacy of affecting

only has an impact on kids, since they lose the person they were connected with, but it also costs the

Flower Still Life Painting by Rachel Ruysch
The exquisite colorful painting of Rachel Ruysch s Flower Still Life painting represents the Dutch
tradition of flower painting in Amsterdam during the 17th century. Ruyshch s still life paintings are
examples of the significant advances made in botany during the 17th century. Rachael Ruysch is a
Dutch painter from (1664 1750) from Amsterdam. Her flower pieces were highly prized and during
her 70 year career, she became one of the most highest paid still life painters in Europe. The Flower
Still Life painting was created after the 1700s. Ruysch created this masterpiece with oil on canvas
with the height of 30 X 24 (76.2 X 61 cm).
The Flower Still life painting is a two dimensional piece. There are no dominant shapes; instead each
one has different shape creating more of a realistic flower. The reason for this was because; flower
painting in the 17th century was almost never a depiction of actual fresh flowers. Each flower has its
unique shape that exemplifies a life of a flower. Some are still blooming and the others are in the
process of dying, the circle of life. This painting has no geometric form but more of a naturalistic
view.
To balance the painting Ruysch placed highlighted blossoms and leaves against the dark left half of
the canvas and silhouetted them against the light wall area on the right. The artist uses light coming
from the left side of the painting, which creates a main view of the center of the image. The light hits

Sports Night here at the University of Texas. Prior to arriving to the event a couple of prejudgments I
had was that, majority of the athletes there would be from recreational sport teams in the area and that
the games would be pretty simple to understand. Essentially, I thought that they would show me how
to play different sports and how they are adapted to their wheelchairs or their particular disability. I
believe that these assumptions came from not realizing that adapted sports is more than just playing
basketball or rugby in a basic wheelchair.
Sammy s house was the second environment in which I completed ASL hours at. Sammy s house is a
childcare center that provides inclusion of children without disabilities and children with disabilities
and medically fragile children. Upon my first day at Sammy s House I did not have many
prejudgments other than I expected that children who attended Sammy s house would be composed of
mainly disabled children. The reason I thought this was because I saw Sammy s House as a childcare
location for medically fragile and disabled children and even though I

Tora Tor Tora Research Paper
Tora Tora Tora is a Japanese movie that portrays their side of things in World War II. The title, Tora
Tora Tora, was the Japanese codeword used to show that complete surprise had been achieved. In
August 1939, a US trade embargo was depriving Japan of raw materials. The Japanese were preparing
for war by forming an alliance with Germany and Italy. The Japanese Commander in Chief ordered
the planning of a surprise attack on the U.S. anchored fleet at Pearl Harbor. Meanwhile the U.S. had
managed to break the Japanese code and secret messages. These messages indicated increased naval
activity. This led to an increase in U.S. navy patrols. As months passed, tensions increased. On the day
of the attack, the U.S. decoded a message that talked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With Tora Tora Tora being a Japanese movie, we all had to read subtitles. After a while of reading
subtitles it got boring. Pearl Harbor also had more of a storyline to it. Not only did it have romance in
it, which I enjoyed besides Evelyn doing Rafe wrong and going after his best friend, it also had action
it. The actual bombing scene was interesting to watch. Yes, at times it was gruesome, but it kept you
interested. I feel that the romance helped make the movie as good as it was. The romance took away
from some of the gruesome parts of the movie and helped lighten the mood. The only bad thing about
Pearl Harbor, in my opinion, was that Evelyn and Danny did Rafe wrong. If you love somebody you
don t go after their best friend as soon as you find out they are dead. Danny also disrespected bro code
and went after his best friend s girl. But, Pearl Harbor overall was just a better movie than Tora Tora

Examples Of Heroism In The Incredibles
The Incredibles is a film about heroism. Walt Disney Pictures released The Incredibles in 2006. The
film is about a superhero family who all have super powers. The government of Municiberg are
rolling out a new program which is relocation of super hero s this is because the town of Municiberg
are sick of super hero s always beaning there to save them when something is wrong. The family The
Incredibles are finding it extremely hard to stop using their super powers, but are trying very hard to
stop. There super powers are Elasta Girls whop can stretch as far as she can, Mr Incredible who can do
everything, violet who can be invisible and dash that can run very fast that no one can keep up with
him.
The mark of a true hero is a piece of text ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is demonstrated by the picture on the cover of the article out of The age. The way that this is
demonstrated in The Incredibles is in the film when what ever the super hero s do, whether it s saving
someone or stopping someone from breaking into a bank the super hero s of Municiberg where always
remembered for what they did. I agree with the people on the train that is Ben Cousin is not a true
hero because in the limelight he got caught up with drugs and alcohol and significantly down grated
himself because he could have been a true hero if he focused on football, not on the money. But l do
believe with the other person in the conversation who said Peter Carey is the greatest football hero.
Peter Carey has played in more than 440 games and has kicked more than 500 goals he has also
played in three Premiership games. Dmetri Kakmi believes that you have to be more than just a sports
hero. A hero must be someone who exhibits extraordinary bravery, fortitude or greatness of soul.
Dmetri Kakmi says that the sports people who should be hero s are Cathy Freeman and Nicky
Winmar. Cathy freeman defiantly fits all the categories wrapping herself in the Aboriginal flag in the
1994 Commonwealth Games. Nicky Winmar also fits all the categories with her famous proud to be

What Does Something Mean To You Essay
In society, we tend to anticipate one s possibilities to the greatest extent. As Henry David Thoreau
stated, One is not born into the world to do everything, but to do something. I believe my something is
to impact my community by helping those who are either in need of help, or who are in quest for
clarification.
This journey will not be a easy task, but I am determined with ambition and dedication to helping
those who seek guidance. The smallest gestures can have the most significant influence on someone s
life whether it means helping a student with their homework, or gathering ideas for a group project.
The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don t wait for good things to happen
to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will
fill yourself with hope, as stated by our President. Acknowledging the difference in one s behavior
because you ve provided them with something they once didn t have, should make a difference to you.
The fondness of knowing that I ve helped at least ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I ve made it my mission that whatever I do, it would come from the heart because the greatest gifts
comes from within. The winter of 2013, my mother and I gave our old coats to a homeless family
sleeping inside a bank. Their bodies trembled on the cold tile floor as they tried to fall asleep. I
remember it being midnight because there were no cars nor people on the streets of this cold winter
night. They tried to make the best out of what they had which wasn t plenty. Feeling sorrow for the
pain they ve endured, my mother and I traveled back to our home and gathered items such as coats,
socks, shoes, and blankets we no longer thought were useful to us. Supplying this family with the gift
of warmth was the greatest gifts of all because it provided a cozy

Did Popular Culture Become Indaganda During World War One
How did popular culture become propaganda during World War One?
Popular culture plays an active role in everyone s life. For instance, everyone has, at least twice in a
lifetime, watched a movie, or listened to a song. The recurring role of cinema, music and dance has
always been relevant, but when did it meet with politics? This essay is aimed at proving that this
relation took place during World War One, the moment in which allies and followers were especially
needed. In the first paragraph, the reader will receive a detailed overview on propaganda and how
important it became during the Great War. Then, the effects on music and dance during the conflict
will be described. Thirdly, minor issues like sports and fashion will be discussed. Next, ... Show more

Mass media became a type of weapon of warfare , the British government even enlisted celebrated
authors to promote the allied cause to the world. As time went by, individual artists, authors and
illustrators started creating to mobilize public opinion behind war efforts.
Don t waste bread! Save two slices every day and defeat the U boat .
This is a quote from a common, well known propaganda poster. It is directly speaking to the viewer,
and is trying to convince him to save bread, which can be used to feed soldiers. This is a way of
making civilians feel special, it makes them believe they can actually do something to help their
country.
World War One was a true transition point for music genres. During the conflict, patriotic odes were of
vital relevance. A good example is the anti german: Bing! Bang! Bing Em on the Rhine . Lyrics
include the sentence: And then we all go swimming in the rhine, we ll hang out clothes in Hidenburg s
old lines , which shows how music was influenced by the desire for the destruction of opponents.
Some other songs depict the everyday lives of soldiers. For example Oh how I hate to get up in the
morning by Irvin Berlin, which is written from an upset soldier s point of view. The change in music
also influenced dance, which became less popular as the war went on. Men were now overseas and
dance floors were

Police Force In Canada In 1867 To Present Time
Canada has a long history of policing and keeping up with the changing times; starting with the
Dominion of Canada in 1867 to present time. As Canada evolved as a Nation so did the Police forces
of Canada. The first Police force in Canada was 1868 the Dominion Police Force ; it was federal in
nature and its main responsibility was to take care of the federal buildings in Ottawa. With increasing
guidance and control needed their jurisdiction extended to policing of central and eastern parts of
Canada. As Canada expanded to the west and Northwest Territories, Prime Minister Macdonald
created North West Mounted Police (NWMP) in May of 1873 due to the Mets uprising and to control
the whisky trade. The Metis uprising was due to the push of settlers

Gustave Faubert Research Paper
This biography of Gustave Flaubert focuses on Orientalism throughout Flaubert s life and literature.
However, instead of showing how Flaubert s life influenced his writing, Gavin Murray Millar gave
insight to how Flaubert s writing influenced his life. The essay is organized into different books
Flaubert wrote, which causes events in Flaubert s life to be out of order, but most are marked with
dates. He uses many secondary sources and a few primary sources, making the biography a reliable
source for major life events in Flaubert s life. Gavin Murray Miller is a lecturer at Cardiff University,
but he received his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia in 2011. He studies primarily French politics
in the 1800 s as well as colonial North Africa. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was a middle child with an older brother, Achille, and a younger sister, Caroline (Haig). The
siblings created a loving environment, despite the fact that they was raised in a hospital (Haig). After
growing up with a father who was a doctor, he grew accustomed to the reality of death. Throughout
school, he read classic novels, which he enjoyed rewriting as scripts to perform with his siblings and
friends (Haig). Eventually, Flaubert enrolled as a law student in 1841 to please his father, but later quit
to write. Existentialist ideas appear in his life as he finds his meaning of life in literature and science.
This type of thinking is found in his book Madame Bovary. Emma fills her life with whatever desire
she feels, trying to find a purpose. Existentialism claims that humans want purpose in life, found by
following desire. Flaubert also developed as a perfectionist while his schooling continued. Even
though he did not enjoy his studies in law school, he worked hard and achieved scholarly awards for
being best in his class during his first year (Haig). However, he failed his second year exams and
began to write Education Sentimentale. When he started his writing career, perfectionism took over
the way he wrote. La Tentation de Saint Antoine took Flaubert thirty years to perfect, which he
considered his masterpiece (Murray Miller). Flaubert s obsession with perfection was evidence of how
serious he took his work. His dedication and existentialist way of living contributed to his lifestyle and
success as an

  • 2. Democratic And Republican Candidates For President Of The... As I write this book, Democratic and Republican candidates are getting in position to run for the President of the United States in 2016. Hillary Clinton was the first Democrat to throw her hat in the ring and right away the Republican Party began attacking her for using her personal email and business email together. They also more than insinuated that she had deleted some of the emails from the server she had at her home and accused her of lying about it. However, whether she did or didn t delete some of her emails is irrelevant to me because most if not all politicians lie in one form or another to protect their interest. That s just a fact! I know some of you will raise your eyebrows and say, I can t believe she said that...well, I did and I mean it. In Hillary s position, I don t believe I would have turned all my emails over to anyone. I can remember coming in late to my job one day and found that my computer had been hijacked by the compliance and auditing department. I was given some lie about someone had gone to the press and put out bad or negative information about the company and I was told that I and a few others were thought to be among the culprits. At the time, I can recall feeling a tremendous invasion of privacy and I didn t believe I had done anything to raise any suspicion about me. However, it took me ten years, after leaving the company, to figure out that I was told a lie and that I was in fact, being investigated. Why, well it all goes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Essay on French Colonialism and Vietnam Unlike many other European countries that sought out the territory in Southeast Asia merely for increasing their power through trade, the French first began interactions with the region as early as the 17th century. Alexandre De Rhodes began an expedition to the Southeast Asia region with the desire to expand the Jesuit missionaries throughout the region to further their belief. For many years until the 18th century, the Jesuits expanded and created many missionaries throughout the region. The 18th century had brought an astronomical expansion in the trading markets throughout Europe and Asia as all the European superpowers began colonizing all of Southeast Asia to further their trading empires. De Genouilly would be replaced by Admiral Page who had been instructed by the French government to not make any more territorial gains in Vietnam for the French. Page was to only use military action if the catholic missionaries in the region were under any threat. Even though this was what he was ordered to do, this did not last very long as the French under Page began to take over more provinces. On April 13th, 1862 the Vietnamese ceded three additional provinces to the French. Then just a year later, the king of Cambodia exchanged control over the Battambang and the Siem Reap for French protection over Cambodia from the threatening Asian powers. Things would remain relatively under control for the French until 1884 when the Chinese would challenge the French s ambition to control the Tonkin region (Northern Vietnam.) The first of many wars to follow in between the 19th and 20th century for the French was the Sino French war which lasted between 1884 and 1885. The French believed that the Northern region of Vietnam, Tonkin, should be placed under their control as they had control over the regions surrounding it. • 5. Language Loss As we increasingly realize that our own self destruction is inevitable in the destruction of the planet, the insular notion of Western modernity as the height of human progress is finally being questioned. However, the resultant paradox is that although we realize the resultant flaws of depending on one form of progress, the only alternatives that we could turn to are dying off of the face of the earth. Thus the global trend of language loss is an issue incredibly worthy of long overdue attention; it may in fact be our last meaningful alternative to rescue the plight of humanity s survival. As a repository of knowledge, an expression of culture, and a symbolic embodiment of a way of life, the loss of a language speaks for itself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As both a by product of their amalgamated colonial imagination and their equally delusional scientific minds, Canada became a laboratory to be poked, measured, defined and prepared for extraction back to continue the fervent industrialization of Europe (Rigney 1999: 109). The colonial mentality is highlighted in their sense of property. Colonialists believed that property had to be enacted; it is as much a physical reality as it is constant aspiration to control. In their minds, property is a verb that must be put to work in order to define it (Blomley: 566). This is in accordance of the influential perspective of John Locke, who helped to ingrain the belief that if the land was not being used, it is being wasted. Thus the divine commons was rendered private property, Eden sank to grief and our natural world was at the mercy of man s endless attempt to control and accrue all that they could from their surroundings (Blomey: 561). Just as Language is a creation of the natural world, it is the architect of sustaining meaning for a culture. Therefore in its use, language is also a system of power that allows the meanings imparted by cultural hegemony to endure and endure themselves (Focault: 22). Although this cultural lineage now dominates the world s sense of progress, not all people believe in this once sense of reality. On the margins of modernity, some people s resilient existence stands as testimony ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Noah And The Frogs Essay Despite the fact that several fables and the bible were written in two completely different time periods they are still are relatable in the sense that one of their main purposes is to teach the individuals reading or listening to them a moral lesson or a cardinal virtue. The presence of the cardinal virtue prudence is evident in both Genesis book six, the story of Noah, and the fable Jupiter and the Frogs. From these stories we are able to distinguish that when prudence is found at just the right amount characters find themselves in rewarding situations, on the other hand, if too much prudence (vanity) is retained then punishment tends to follow. It is the active and temporary representation of information that is maintained for the short term in one s mind to help decide what to do next (Gluck, 344). Working memory is a very pivotal part of our lives, because it is this memory that helps us stay on our feets. Working memory works in different ways with every individual. It has its own processes and there are significant working memory differences in every age group from younger adults to older adults. This memory can also be called short term memory. This paper will investigate the differences of working memory between younger and older adults, use articles to show how various experiments explain the deficits of working memory in older adults, and show how working memory is strongly needed in mathematical tasks with schoolchildren. Choice of clothing and eating habits, in no way, allow you to pass judgment on a person. Judging people based on these factors is extremely shallow. What one wears and eats in no way depicts character, behavior, or even intelligence. One simply cannot know a person by looking at them and observing what they eat. Such a thought is ridiculous. Instead of looking at clothing and what one is eating, character should be the basis for opinion. One cannot have a full outlook on an individual by just viewing their dress and eating habits. Looking at someone s clothing or what is in their refrigerator does not depict behavior. By seeing what one wears and eats in no way allows you to know if the person is intelligent. Crazy as it sounds, some bums are educated, smart people. These bums eating from garbage s may even carry a conversation better than someone wearing a business suit and eating Red Lobster every night. An intelligent person could simply choose not to care about dress. Not all smart people conform to what society feels is appropriate. Some may choose to dress like bums simply because they don t care. It doesn t mean they re any less smart or have less money. It could mean that such petty things do not get to this person. • 10. The Struggles of Families in Poverty in The Jungle, by... In twentieth century America the history of poverty begins with most working people living on the edge of destitution, periodically short of food, fuel, clothing, and shelter (Poverty in 20th Century America). Poverty possesses the ability to completely degrade a person, as well as a family, but it can also make that person and family stronger. In The Jungle, by Upton Sinclair, a family of immigrants has to live in severe poverty in Packingtown, a suburb of Chicago. The poverty degrades the family numerous times, and even brings them close to death. • 12. Fast And Slow By Daniel Kahneman In selected chapters of Thinking, Fast and Slow, Daniel Kahneman challenges the traditional economic utility model by presenting the prospect theory, where pecuniary variables are no longer the only determinants. George A. Akerlof and Richel E. Kranton support this challenge by providing two economic analysis models that include identity as an important variable. While Kahneman focuses primarily on individuals inability to make decisions based on profit determined utility values, Akerlof and Kranton emphasize that motivation associated with identity is the missing component of the traditional utility model. In order to demonstrate flaws of the traditional view, Kahneman supports three principles of prospect theory with various examples. First, by pointing out errors in Bernoulli s model and the indifferent model, Kahneman emphasizes the broad range of the reference point, that it is not only the change of wealth, but also the context and the mindset. Second, Kahneman analyzes loss aversion, one of the dominant mindsets. Third, Kahneman argue that sensitivity has great impact on decision making by providing gambling cases of rare and risky events. With the knowledge of these three principles, Kahneman further implies that people can be trained to against these intuitive system one thinking patterns. This style of writing typically relates back to fiction that gives an atmosphere of uncertainty by featuring horror, death, curses or the supernatural. In The Signalman written by Charles Dickens, we can depict that his writing falls under the category of traditional gothic literature as he chooses to stress the fear of the unknown whether it be the setting or the supernatural. • 28. The Sonnet By Sir Thomas Wyatt Many people are familiar with poetry; they understand their basic concepts and know that some differ in their size and how they rhyme. What some people may not know is that poems are categorized and there are many different types of groups within poetry. There are various types of poetry which include the sonnet. The sonnet was introduced by an Italian poet named Francesco Petrarch (1304 1374) who introduced the creation in the 13th century (Applebee 295). He wrote over 300 love sonnets, a great number of them were dedicated to a woman named Laura. Centuries passed in which sonnets were not as popular; his work was later rediscovered by two lovelorn poets. Their names were Sir Thomas Wyatt (1503 1542) and Henry Howard, earl of Surrey (1517 1547). They changed some of the rhyme scheme to tie in with the English language; Shakespeare went on to write many sonnets, he was very good and left a huge impact on the style of poetry. Later, an already famous poet, Edmund Spenser, kept the love based poems alive by continuing to write in the 15th century; he went on to change how they poem rhymed and had his style of writing named after him. Enough with its history, a sonnet is a structured poem that consists of 14 lines. There is no limitation on how long each line has to be in size; but they do all have one thing in common, there must be ten syllables per line. The poem is then divided into three quatrains; which is just a big word for a four lined unit. The final two lines are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bioindicators of Strawberry Creek Edar Liu, Cindy Sandoval Espinoza, Ethan Schlatter, Weirui Xiao October 9, 2016 Biology 1B, Section 224, Group 1 Abstract: Through our research we aimed to determine if there were any differences in water quality of both the north and south forks of Strawberry Creek. As time progresses and the environment changes it is important to keep track of how certain species are being impacted by these features, and how they cope with change. We hypothesized that due to the lack of pollution, the south fork will promote a greater diversity of macroinvertebrates. This was due to the fact that there was less runoff and trash that could be introduced to the water in the south fork, than there was in the north fork. We gathered data by analyzing the different organisms living in both forks. We collected a total of fifty vials composed of five organisms from each fork, and inspected them under microscopic view. After gathering data and identifying the different kinds of organisms living in the different forks we assessed whether the organisms from the samples could live in high or low resolution water. We also took a t test to assess the probability of these differences being due to relevant factors or by chance. Our major findings suggest that organisms in the south fork showed a higher demand to living in cleaner water indicating that our hypothesis was correct. Ruyshch s still life paintings are examples of the significant advances made in botany during the 17th century. Rachael Ruysch is a Dutch painter from (1664 1750) from Amsterdam. Her flower pieces were highly prized and during her 70 year career, she became one of the most highest paid still life painters in Europe. The Flower Still Life painting was created after the 1700s. Ruysch created this masterpiece with oil on canvas with the height of 30 X 24 (76.2 X 61 cm). The Flower Still life painting is a two dimensional piece. There are no dominant shapes; instead each one has different shape creating more of a realistic flower. The reason for this was because; flower painting in the 17th century was almost never a depiction of actual fresh flowers. Each flower has its unique shape that exemplifies a life of a flower. Some are still blooming and the others are in the process of dying, the circle of life. This painting has no geometric form but more of a naturalistic view. To balance the painting Ruysch placed highlighted blossoms and leaves against the dark left half of the canvas and silhouetted them against the light wall area on the right. The artist uses light coming from the left side of the painting, which creates a main view of the center of the image. The light hits the center of the bouquet that ... • 40. Academic Service Learning ( Asl ) Questions Academic Service Learning (ASL) Questions 1. Describe the environment in which you observed. Before you interacted with the agency s clients or school s students, what expectations, assumptions, and prejudgments do you have? Where did these come from, and why do you think you have them? For my ASL hours I observed two different environments. The first environment was an Adapted Sports Night here at the University of Texas. Prior to arriving to the event a couple of prejudgments I had was that, majority of the athletes there would be from recreational sport teams in the area and that the games would be pretty simple to understand. Essentially, I thought that they would show me how to play different sports and how they are adapted to their wheelchairs or their particular disability. I believe that these assumptions came from not realizing that adapted sports is more than just playing basketball or rugby in a basic wheelchair. Sammy s house was the second environment in which I completed ASL hours at. Sammy s house is a childcare center that provides inclusion of children without disabilities and children with disabilities and medically fragile children. Upon my first day at Sammy s House I did not have many prejudgments other than I expected that children who attended Sammy s house would be composed of mainly disabled children. The reason I thought this was because I saw Sammy s House as a childcare location for medically fragile and disabled children and even though I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Tora Tor Tora Research Paper Tora Tora Tora is a Japanese movie that portrays their side of things in World War II. The title, Tora Tora Tora, was the Japanese codeword used to show that complete surprise had been achieved. In August 1939, a US trade embargo was depriving Japan of raw materials. The Japanese were preparing for war by forming an alliance with Germany and Italy. The Japanese Commander in Chief ordered the planning of a surprise attack on the U.S. anchored fleet at Pearl Harbor. Meanwhile the U.S. had managed to break the Japanese code and secret messages. These messages indicated increased naval activity. This led to an increase in U.S. navy patrols. As months passed, tensions increased. After a while of reading subtitles it got boring. Pearl Harbor also had more of a storyline to it. Not only did it have romance in it, which I enjoyed besides Evelyn doing Rafe wrong and going after his best friend, it also had action it. The actual bombing scene was interesting to watch. Yes, at times it was gruesome, but it kept you interested. I feel that the romance helped make the movie as good as it was. The romance took away from some of the gruesome parts of the movie and helped lighten the mood. The only bad thing about Pearl Harbor, in my opinion, was that Evelyn and Danny did Rafe wrong. If you love somebody you don t go after their best friend as soon as you find out they are dead. Danny also disrespected bro code and went after his best friend s girl. But, Pearl Harbor overall was just a better movie than Tora Tora ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I agree with the people on the train that is Ben Cousin is not a true hero because in the limelight he got caught up with drugs and alcohol and significantly down grated himself because he could have been a true hero if he focused on football, not on the money. But l do believe with the other person in the conversation who said Peter Carey is the greatest football hero. Peter Carey has played in more than 440 games and has kicked more than 500 goals he has also played in three Premiership games. Dmetri Kakmi believes that you have to be more than just a sports hero. As Henry David Thoreau stated, One is not born into the world to do everything, but to do something. I believe my something is to impact my community by helping those who are either in need of help, or who are in quest for clarification. This journey will not be a easy task, but I am determined with ambition and dedication to helping those who seek guidance. The smallest gestures can have the most significant influence on someone s life whether it means helping a student with their homework, or gathering ideas for a group project. The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope, as stated by our President. I remember it being midnight because there were no cars nor people on the streets of this cold winter night. They tried to make the best out of what they had which wasn t plenty. This is a quote from a common, well known propaganda poster. It is directly speaking to the viewer, and is trying to convince him to save bread, which can be used to feed soldiers. This is a way of making civilians feel special, it makes them believe they can actually do something to help their country. World War One was a true transition point for music genres. During the conflict, patriotic odes were of vital relevance. A good example is the anti german: Bing! Bang! Bing Em on the Rhine . Lyrics include the sentence: And then we all go swimming in the rhine, we ll hang out clothes in Hidenburg s old lines , which shows how music was influenced by the desire for the destruction of opponents. Some other songs depict the everyday lives of soldiers. For example Oh how I hate to get up in the morning by Irvin Berlin, which is written from an upset soldier s point of view. Emma fills her life with whatever desire she feels, trying to find a purpose. Existentialism claims that humans want purpose in life, found by following desire. Flaubert also developed as a perfectionist while his schooling continued.
