The different use of medium is the first indication of their difference. The sculptor of the Bodhisattva
from Gandhara, Fig. 2, was able to carve and sculpt in greater detail because of the Schist that they
used. Schist is darker in color, almost black, smoother in texture and looks harder that sandstone. This
type of medium allowed sculptors to have a totally different style and approach than that of sculptors
from the Mathura region. With the ability of being able to carve even more details comes a totally

spring return and animals rear their young, one cannot help but see beauty in nature. Some people find
beauty even in the smallest of creatures and things. The earth is full of wonder. At the same time,
driving across certain places, where humans have scarred the landscape, ugliness appears. The marred
landscapes in which humans have clear cut a forest, obliterated a mountain, or dumped waste can
destroy the natural beauty that nature once exhibited. In this paper I will argue that the nonhuman
world exhibits beauty of its own and that humans can either enhance or deface this beauty.

in the eye of the beholder and based on personal experiences and varies from person to person; it is

Existentialists focus on the question that is a concrete human existence, and the conditions of such
existence; they do not dwell on a hypothesis for human essence, instead they stress that this essence is
determined by an individual s own life choices. Although humans live in the world, a distance is
created in order to add meaning to the disinterested world; however, this meaning is fragile and can be
disturbed by tragedy or insight. When this disturbance occurs, and human s precarious lives crumble,
the true nature of the world is revealed; a nature that shows little importance for humans; this way of
thinking created the, post WWII era, worldwide explosion of ambiguous literature, and the sensory
perception of art and music; heavily influenced by the idea of human worthlessness.
Literature Existentialism, though it had been present since the 19th century, came of age in the mid
20th Century. This was largely through the scholarly and fictional works of the French existentialists,
Jean Paul Sartre, Albert Camus and Simone de Beauvoir. The heavily influenced post WWII
movement spurred up a whole new way of thinking. Sartre made the movement popular in that he
defined Existentialism and wrote many works solely centered on his views.

La Luna La Luna is a short film made by Pixar in 2011. It is a sweet animation movie in the drama
genre about coming of age, traditions and responsibility being passed through generation to
generation. It is a very moving short film that is succinct with no dialogue. The prominent stars who
have voice overs in this film are Krista Sheffler who plays the kid, Tony Flucile who plays the father
and Phhil Sheridan who plays the grandfather.
La Luna tells the story of a young boy joining his father and grandfather for the first time to learn
about his family s unusual line of work. The y are paddling out to sea in an old wooden boat but little
deos the boy know that a surprise awaits him as they anchor in the middle of the sea. While trying to
please both his father and grandfather the boy is absorbed by the magic of the new world.
The music in the film reminds you of a Spanish Guitar which links in perfectly with the Spanish

In the short time of six and a half minutes the film .The movie successfully narrates of finding your
own path while listening to your elders. It clearly depicts that being different brings out the best in
people. This is especially evident towards the end when the boy solves a problem on his own proving
to his father and grandfather that there is more than one right way to do something. Not only did I find
this movie stunning visually but I found that the movie made me feel like I was there in the moment
with the boy following his discoveries and exploring the new land which made me feel more
connected to the story and the timing of interesting plot twists and new discoveries was perfect. Even
