Monologue Of Woman
I think this text is about a woman, that is a dreamer and thinks less of herself. I can say this because in
the monologue, the curious woman set out various examples such as on lines 1 and 2 it says The
woman I am in my dreams is taller than i am. I think this precise sentence means that she wants to
stand tall/up for herself and support her own opinions, which leads to my first point. A another
obvious example is, on lines 24 28 she reveals The woman I am in my dreams her legs are straight and
sure, they don t fall out from under her, they don t hide under long skirts her legs and feet are well.
This is an another example of how she thinks less of herself because, the text proves that she clearly
doesn t like how her legs are straight

Language Death Essay
Main Issues: The way in which our world functions today is a result of colonialization. Language
death and linguistic endangerment is woven with colonialization and the history of oppression toward
indigenous communities. We cannot speak of language death without first acknowledging the speakers
and the systematic oppression that indigenous communities continue struggling to resist. In present
time language shifts due to economic incentive of hegemony and the mediating role of language
ideologies are two of the most important causes of language death. Language shift and language
ideologies that ultimately cause language death are current consequences of colonialization. The death
of a language has both of linguistic and cultural consequences to the particular community affected
and to the world s diversity as a whole. Languages serve as carries of cultural knowledge, as identity
and verbal art, hence when a language is lost cultural resources, identity and verbal art are lost. One of
the most important causes of language death is language shifts due to economic incentives of
hegemony. A language shift is when people adopt the language of the hegemonic society replacing
their mother tongue in both their personal and professional lives (Mithum 1998:182). The shift of
language is motivated by the hope for economic prosper as hegemonic languages like English and
French dominate the economic market place. This language shift is also understood through the terms

In July 2012, HSBC was investigated and interrogated by the U.S. senate permanent committee due to
several inadequacies in its anti laundering practices. The bank participated in the money transfer by

ABSTRACT
In the grid new renewable resources are added to extract more power. This adds more power quality
issues to grid connection. A Power quality problem is an occurrence manifested as a nonstandard
voltage, current or frequency that results in a failure or a mis operation of end user equipment. This
paper investigates the use of a static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) is connected at a point of
common coupling with Battery Energy Storage System(BESS)to overcome of a power quality issues
of a wind farm equipped with variable speed wind turbines driving Double Fed Induction Generators
(DFIG). A physical control scheme, including four control loops: ac voltage, dc voltage, ac active
current and ac reactive current controllers, is pre specified for the STATCOM. A synthetic algorithm is
proposed to embed these physical control loops in the output feedback path. The simulation results
demonstrated that under various system disturbances, the proposed mode decoupling STATCOM is
effective in regulating IG terminal voltage.

Diesel Powered Vehicles
Initial purchasing costs of gas over diesel powered vehicles is usually a large factor that consumers
take into account when purchasing a vehicle. Research has shown that on average, a diesel version
versus gasoline version of the same vehicle, is $5,045 more than the gasoline version. (Vincentric,
2012) Consumers buying on a budget have to take these factors into consideration, which generally
means that in more consumer oriented cars and SUVs, the gasoline version sells much better than the
diesel. Common reasons for this is that usually consumers associate diesel engines with the loud,
smoke blowing pickup trucks that smoke out an entire intersection. So people in the market for a
vehicle that haven t done their homework on the diesel powered version are more than likely to pick
the gasoline version. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now while diesel prices have averaged 14 percent more per gallon than gasoline over that last decade
(Staff @ WorkTruckOnline, 2011), there is an equalizer in this whole situation. The diesel s fuel
economy advantage over the gasoline powered version actually balances out the cost of the two fuels
with each s relative fuel economy. A diesel vehicle emits more greenhouse gas emissions when burnt
than gasoline, but its higher energy content per gallon results in higher fuel efficiency for the vehicle.
So, as a result, the diesel can go further on a single gallon than a gasoline truck, meaning it produces
very similar greenhouse gas emissions as the gasoline powered engine, while running nearly the same
cost for fuel per mile as a gasoline powered

Hollywood Body Standard
Has Hollywood s harsh view of the human body resulted in an unrealistic new body standard?
Throughout my life I have repeatedly heard everyone around me say Change is for the better , a
generic phrase that gives false hope to something that does not have a clear answer. The truth is that
change can be both good and bad depending on the situation. Hollywood is currently in the process of
a major change as it keeps branching further and further away from what it once was. As the
popularity of movies continues to rise, the boundaries of what is possible in the movie industry are
becoming limitless. With the help of modern technology, Hollywood has turned its attention to how
well they can make a movie look, rather than the actual acting itself. ... Show more content on

Despite all of their hard work, it may be impossible for some to achieve the looks that are desired in
Hollywood due to genetics and body structure. Many stuntmen turn to illegal drugs and steroids in
order to stay afloat in their industry. Hill discusses this issue of shortcuts by saying, So who on a
movie set would be most likely to take a risk on something unproven that could cause bodily harm?
The stuntmen, of course.... It makes some sense: If you re asked to body double for Ryan Gosling
without the benefit of his trainer and his personal chef, you ll be tempted to take a shortcut, too. (64).
Due to the lack of resources, stuntmen turn to dangerous drugs to be more successful with their career.
If stuntmen are having troubles achieving the body standard that has been set for them, imagine an
average young adult attempting to attain the looks of someone they see in a movie. It would be very
unrealistic to try to achieve such a standard. This is because average young adults don t have the time
or the resources to attain a perfect body. However, due to the amount of control Hollywood has today,
young adults are influenced by celebrities, such as movie characters, and they strive to be just like
them. A trend in both fitness and overall health seems to be occurring currently as young adults are
trying to achieve these perfect bodies that

How Did John Lennon Impact Society
Music has a unique way of impacting our lives. It often makes us wonder what inspired the artist to
say what he or she said and why they chose to put it together that way. Certain artists are capable of
leaving a lasting legacy that people pass on from generation to generation. It is easier for one to
become influenced by an artist s work if they are exposed to it at a younger age. More often than not,
people will gravitate towards a certain artist because they can find a way to connect with the writer.
The ability to decipher, process and think deeply about an artists lyrics in order to find the meaning
behind them is key to unlocking the impactfulness of the song. Although not considered a traditional
Beatles song, John Lennon is well known for his song Imagine and the impact it had on society. LIFE
OF LENNON Lennon was born in Liverpool, England on October 9, 1940 to parents Fred and Julia.
After his mother died when he was 17 years old, John started a band named The Quarrymen. With a
few additions to the group, they eventually were known as The Beatles. Although graced with
numerous Number One hits, they ended up splitting in 1970 (Laurie Ulster). This was the start of John
Lennon s solo career. He and his wife, Yoko Ono, were most productive in 1917 ... Show more content

The Based Sharing Economy Is The Community Based Online...
Technology based sharing economy is the community based online services that sharing the access to
goods and services based on peer to peer mode (Hamari, Sjöklint Ukkonen, 2015).
The widespread of mobile tablets and advanced payment ways motivate the advent of the technology
based sharing economy like Airbnb and Uber. The sharing economy nowadays is just a reengineered
consumption model consists of old processes and digital technologies (Sundararajan, 2013). In other
words, digital technologies are the powerful enablers for the rising of sharing economy.
Sharing economy opens a new door for the whole world, however, there remains some obstinate
problems and one significant issue is the fuzzy regulations. One news reported that NSW ... Show

The fuzzy regulation s promoting the development of sharing economy not only brings impressive
benefits but also causes serious problems.
1.Impact on society
Merits
1)Create further sustainable society. The fuzzy regulations provide a suitable growing environment for
sharing economy performers such as Airbnb and Uber. The application of Uber takes full advantage of
cars not only relieve the congestion but also cuts emissions, which benefits the sustainability of
society.
2)Boost economy for some cities. One study found that 14% of Airbnb customer would not visit a city
without Airbnb (Heinrichs, 2013). As Airbnb rental is cheaper than hotel services, people tend to
travel with Airbnb, which also promote the tourism in these cities.
Demerits
1)Hidden danger caused by fuzzy rules. There remain no clear rules to regulate the peer to peer
business, which will cause great danger. If a car accident occurs to Uber driver, who should take the
responsibility, the driver, the passenger, or Uber whereas Uber may just claim that it just is a
communication platform for car pooling service. Therefore, clear and corresponding rules should be
applied to avoid such flaws.
2)Uncertain service quality. As the emerging of Airbnb and Uber, there are blurred boundaries
between personal and professional services (Malhotra Alstyne, 2014). To what extent, the service
quality is affected. For instance, a noisy

The Gospel Of John And The Writing Of His Gospel
Reading through the Gospel of John can bring up many questions about the fourth canonical book and
the writing of his gospel. Some of those questions have answers and some do not. In this essay we will
take a look at some of them that has biblical answers. The first question is did John write the gospel
bearing his name? Second, who was the audience that he was writing to? Third, what was the purpose
of John writing the gospel?
Did John write the gospel bearing his name? In the gospel of John it never provides the name of the
author. There are no other indications in the bible either. There are two important factors that tell us
that John is the author. In the Gospel of John it identifies the author as the disciple whom Jesus loved.
This likely pointed to John and there are three reasons. First, John was one of the twelve disciples, he
was a witness of the actual events (John 21:14). He was part of the inner circle of the disciples
because Mary told him first of the resurrection (John 20:1 10). John was distinguished from others in
the book. The Gospel of John was discovered around AD 135. However, some scholars think that it
was written (AD 70) when Jerusalem was destroyed. This writer believes that AD 85 90 is the more
accepted time for the writing of the Gospel of John.
Who was the audience that he was writing to? John was writing to the church, I believe that he was
also writing to the people who did not believe. John focuses on the divinity of Jesus Christ. The

Dangers Of Social Cohesion
There are many different ideas about humanity and how it works and what things make it work the
best. There are some sociology theorist have a more positive view on humanity and believe that
humanity works best when people have relationships and more human interaction thus creating society
and its regulations as we know them. There are many benefits of social cohesion, but there are also
downfalls of this as well according to some theorist and these are referred to as social control. Social
cohesion is when those in a social system identify with it and feel bound to support it, especially its
norms, beliefs, and values. Social control is how a community or society regulates a person s behavior.
Ultimately, the benefits of social cohesion outweigh the dangers of social control. Without the benefits
of social cohesion, the dangers of social control would be intensified because of the lack thereof.
Durkheim, Erikson, Putnam and Collins are theorists who all take a stance on the benefits of social
cohesion. Some of their ideas are identical to one another or have some similar points and all connect
in some way. Durkheim says that social cohesion protects people from anomie and anomic suicide.
Anomie is defined as the lack of social integration and regulation or the lack of the usual social or
ethical standards in an individual or group. During a period if anomie, people feel disconnected from
their society because they no longer see the norms and values that they are

Uncertainty As A Necessary Property Of The Universe
Uncertainty as a Necessary Property of the Universe
There is a value in being uncertain about certainty; the value is seen in stress reduction, both in
science/professional life as well as in day to day mundane life. The value also exists in the
perpetuation or the drive for innovation. The common knee jerk reaction to a presentation of
uncertainty is to hold fear or contempt, but after some more careful consideration, uncertainty appears
to be very important in nature. There are even ways to capitalize, or exploit, uncertainty for benefit.
In science or professional life, embracing uncertainty allows for loosened restrictions on modeling
(not to be confused with gross negligence; not referring to introduced uncertainties), higher level
induction via empirically determined boundary conditions, and boons in funding for research. The
mathematical model only needs to apply to a specific set of conditions. As a scientist, you need not
focus on a general model that accounts for all variables. Stresses involved when pressed for resources
are then reduced because the focus can be deliberately placed on only the variables you are exploring,
or validity of the model needs to be only with a specific set of conditions. The final model can yield
nonsense acceptably when used outside the intended conditions. Additionally, boundary conditions
can be identified leading to general evolution of systems. Sometimes boundary conditions lead you to
the relative stabilities of sets of solutions

Coffee Supply Chain
Coffee The Supply Chain
INTRODUCTION
Today, a jar of instant coffee can be found in 93 per cent of British homes and increasingly consumers
are trying out different types of coffee, such as cappuccino, espresso, mocha and latte. The expanding
consumer demand for product choice, quality and value has led to an increase in the coffees being
made available to a discerning public. Value is the way in which the consumer views an organisation s
product in comparison with competitive offerings. So how does coffee get from growing on a tree

I then submitted my final draft to iNet. My topic for my research paper was technology s impact on
today s society. I talked about the positive and negative impacts technology has on our society
everyday and I was able to give evidence of my ideas with information I found when researching. I
explained that technology has helped with finding new ways to teach students including those with
disabilities and how it has helped to advance the health and medicinal field. I also explained some
downsides such as the addiction and absence of face to face interaction that come along with
technology. Each of my assignments for this class included revising and editing at the attempt to hand

were little to no grammatical or spelling errors. My biggest struggle in this area was working on
transitions and organization throughout my assignments to make sure my paper flowed better as a

Essay about Attacks and Al-Qaeda in Northern Afghanistan
According to the New York Times, the Taliban and Al Qaeda have opened a new front in the
previously peaceful northern Afghanistan. They have also stepped up attacks in their heartland,
southern provinces. To defeat the insurgents, General McChrystal, the US commander in Kabul, has
requested 40,000 additional troops and resources to persuade the moderate Taliban to abandon
violence. But this strategy is likely to succeed only with the help from key regional states.
Increased fatalities and dwindled public support have put pressure on President Obama to end the war

America and Pakistan have different goals in Afghanistan. While Washington wants to defeat the
Taliban and Al Qaeda, Pakistan wants them to stop violence in its territories and to capture power in
Kabul. Islamabad sees the Afghan war as an opportunity to strengthen its military, with Western
support, to fend off India and lean on New Delhi to resolve the Kashmir dispute. From Pakistan s
perspective, the Taliban jihadists trained in Pakistani madarsas and supported by the Inter Service
Intelligence, the military spy agency will make the best allies in Kabul and help augment the anti
Indian jihad in Kashmir.
All other neighbors, except China, had assisted the Northern Alliance to topple the Taliban in 2001
and still oppose their victory. India, the regional hegemon with broad influence in South Asia, believes
a Taliban ruled Afghanistan will support the jihadists in Kashmir and fan the fire of Islamic extremism
elsewhere. Iran fears that the Taliban will foment troubles in its Sunni areas, and Tajikistan and
Uzbekistan are afraid that a Taliban state will motivate their extremists to pursue a similar goal. All
these nations had helped the Northern Alliance to topple the Taliban in 2001. China too is now worried
that Taliban victory could further fuel Islamist militancy in Xinjiang and other western provinces.

An Attack On The Hipaa System
Medical technology gives accessibility to online hackers and the possibilities for an attack on the
Hipaa system. The way this system is set up it goes not only to public individuals but also government
individuals, so smartphones can be used to hack a server and cause delicate information to get out.
Personal information is stored in one location for convenience and accessibility, which is all the same
for an identity thief. Smart phones can also be used for other measures such as getting into personal

the way things are going for you. It also gives feed back to your doctor so they can know how you are

In this essay, I will focus on three compelling aspects of John Bowlby s attachment theory and analyze

Bowlby s own life experiences
John Bowlby was born February 26, 1907, in London. During this time in Britain, his family was

a special need school. I ve never worked in special education before but I wouldn t change it any other
way today. I connected instantly with these children, because to me they were unique in my eyes and
it made me look at teaching in a whole new perspective I came to understand that special needs
students have a huge an effect from outside of school, just similar to Bowlby s experience with

14.3% to 14.8 percent, these numbers prove that poverty in America has has increased. The topic of
my essay is: Does the Welfare System work? In my opinion,Welfare could be effective, if it s rules are
reinforced and a two year time limit is establish. Welfare affects the United States because, causes
national debt, dependency from its users and affects the middle class financially.
First of all, Welfare plays one of the major factors why the United States still in debt, there are one
hundred and twenty six antipoverty programs in America today. The nationwide welfare spending has
risen from $107 billion to $688 billion dollars, which is an average of 640% with the ultimate goal to
decrease or end poverty in America. In 1966, the poverty rate was at 14.3%, according to
www.census.gov, US poverty rate in 2014 was14.9% and last year s poverty rate was at 14.8%. In the

Let me share an example that is mind blowing to me, a person that makes annually $3,625 qualifies
for payroll income taxes, childcare cost, state income tax, Food Stamps, School Lunch Program,
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Medicaid and CHIP, Section 8 Rent, Utility Bill
Assistance, after all of these benefits, the total net income per year becomes a $31,630. Now a person
that makes $60,000 ,obviously does not qualify for any government assistance, after paying for
everything mentioned above to support their family, their net annual income becomes $34,366. So,
comparing both incomes, there is only a difference of $2,736 dollars between both individuals. This is
one of the main reasons why the middle class people are discourage and are hoping the welfare

Pollution and environmental problems of mankind
In recent years, we often hear and use the word ecology , but one can hardly assume that everyone
understands him correctly. About even the experts argue what meaning people should invest in this
concept. In the meantime, they argue, laymen have realized such ecological minimum: it means to
breathe clean air, drink clean water, eat food without nitrates and glow in the dark. The term ecology
(from the Greek oikos a house, dwelling place, and logos science) was provided in 1866 by the
German zoologist Ernst Haeckel, who introduced it into use to refer to general science about the
organisms and their environment.
But now the concept of ecology has already gone far beyond the scope of what to put in it and Ernst
Haeckel as specified in the reference books and encyclopedias. Now it is an independent science about
the environment (in terms of its interactions with living organisms and, above all people). It nourishes
not only and not so much biology, but almost all of Earth science meteorology, hydrology,
oceanography, climatology, geography, geology with the necessary for their physical and
mathematical and chemical methods, as well as sociology, psychology and economics. Such an
extension of detention of Ecology and offset of accents demanded rapid quantitative growth of
humanity, which began to realize the dangers that threaten the entire planet (nuclear disaster, potential

Effective Use Of Metaphors In Fences By August Wilson
Many people use metaphors to make an example or for people to better understand a given statement.
In the play Fences by August Wilson two main metaphors are redundant; most involving fences. Every
character is shown having their own meaning and need for their metaphorical fences. Wilson wrote a
play that would not only show deeper meaning than what is being said but one that showed a greater
insight on the lives of a small family. The first character is Troy Maxon. The significance of Troy s
metaphorical fence is built upon throughout the play. In troys case his metaphorical fence is to keep
death away from him, his things, and the ones he loves. Alright...Mr. Death. See now.... I m gonna tell
you what i m gonna do. I m gonna take me a fence around this yard. See? I m gonna build me a fence
around what belongs to me. And then you to stay on the other side. See? Stay over there until your
ready for me... (2.2). In this scene you see an insight on how Troy thinks of the fence as more than just
any fence, he thinks of it as something that could even stop the forces of death from entering his
home. Troy s efforts to wall off his home resonate with his ongoing conflict with Mr. Death by
fortifying the perimeter of his home, Troy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

mother hurting, and after arguing cory left home. Later in the play he comes back to be with his
mother so that he could mend his fence with her back together; although she accepts him back with
loving arms it still shows Cory s resentment to troy when he refuses to go to his funeral. This shows
that Cory has kept the people he loves in his fence and the ones who hurt him were left on the other

Medea Reflection
The common event made me think differently of Medea. This was through having different
actors/actresses reading the same part of the play where Medea speaks to Jason. By having different
actors/actresses reading the same scene from Medea, it allowed me to see what the purpose of the play
was as well as the personal lesson it taught me. The purpose of this play was to see the emotions of
Medea and to validate her reason for murdering her two kids. The personal lesson it taught me was to
stick up for yourself no matter how bad your situation/circumstance is. Also, this presentation allowed
me to also appreciate the character Medea. Initially, I thought Medea was evil, strange, and cold
hearted, but after the common event, I learned that Medea

The Issue Of Income Inequality Essay
Income inequality has slowly become an issue gaining momentum over the last thirty five years, did
we see it coming, I think so. It has always been an issues, only after decades of misleading political
leadership spanning decades are people finally fed up of being misled and lied to. The current election
for the next president has brought about a voice of the American people to demand a change within
our three failing political systems that govern America. Only this change, I believe is going to bring a
country to its knees, the wealth holders are not, going to just step aside and willing unlock the scales
of wealth that to encumber its poor, they are going to dig in and hold fast to what they have stolen and
hoarded since the time of slavery. Broken at the foundation Congress failed in its obligation to keep a
close watch on the small increasing hikes in taxation, that repeatedly brought sanctions on the poor,
that created a false redistribution of wealth in America, for the last three decades income disparity has
reach an all time high for selective groups of Americans. The government influenced income
inequality and growth by shifting support to ambiguous government supported programs, that
benefitted a selective groups of Americans by lessening their taxation rate, while snowballing the tax
imposed on the poorest Americans. The riches 1 10% have accumulated an increase in wealth
approximately 7.5 times over the normal working household in the US. The article

Interventions and Care for Patients
Evidence Based Practice Paper
Evidence based practice uses current research and clinical judgment to provide interventions and care
for patients (Kelly, 2012). It is important for nurses and all healthcare team members to be up to date
on current practices so patients can receive evidence based interventions that improve clinical
outcomes. According to Kelly (2012), almost half of patients that receive care, receive interventions
that are not based on evidence which can ultimately compromise the safety of patients and their health
outcomes. Peripheral intravenous therapy (PIV) is a common practice in the acute care setting and
evidence based practices have been established to drive appropriate care for this intervention.
Almost all patients that are admitted into the acute care setting require peripheral intravenous therapy.
PIV therapy is an important factor in the care of patients in the hospital and it is most often used to
maintain or correct fluid and electrolyte balances, administer medications, and replace blood or blood
products (Ignatavicius and Workman, 2013). PIV therapy is an invasive therapy that requires catheter
insertion into the vascular system and access is gained through the patient s skin. Because this is an
invasive procedure, patients are at a risk of developing catheter related infections. Catheter related
infections are preventable and as nurses it is our responsibility to maintain the PIV site and use the
appropriate protocols and interventions to

Pros And Cons Of Gun Control On A College Campus
Gun control is a major topic in today s society and It is broken into many subcategories that all have
different arguments and views. A few examples are The Second Amendment is not an unlimited right
to own guns, more gun control laws would reduce gun deaths and more gun control leads to fewer
suicides in the United States. The gun control category I am focusing on in this essay is, should
teachers and students be able to carry firearms on a college campus. I chose this since I am currently
attending college and this could have an effect directly on me or ASU. The idea of teachers and staff
being able to carry firearms on a college campus has come up many times in the media recently due to
the rise in mass shootings. Many states are now looking at this problem and voting on it. This topic is
always heavily debated due to the many different sides and varying beliefs on gun control and safety.
The NRA (National Rifle Association) has a heavy influence on the united states and who should be
allowed guns and what legislation is passed. The gun control topic of firearms on a college campus
has become politicized and is commonly drawn into political debates and has become a political tool
for winning elections. Some states have already voted and taken action on this new idea and have
allowed staff to carry guns on campuses and in cars parked and locked in secure parking lots. Another
major idea that is constantly brought up with campus carry and firearms on campuses is student

The Cause Of Generalized Anxiety Disorders
In the United States, 85% of all adults and teenagers, more females than males, have been depressed at
one point in their life. (Davey) Although the term is used loosely because people tend to incorrectly
self diagnose their sadness as depression, it is actually defined as a common and serious medical
illness that negatively affects how one feels and the way he or she thinks and acts. (Parekh). In most
cases, depression is accompanied with a type of anxiety disorder such as as generalized anxiety
disorder and social anxiety (Facts). The cause of them occurring at the same time is unknown, but
scientists believe that it is caused by a malfunction of brain chemistry. Generalized anxiety, the
leading mental illness that affects over 40 million ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although interactions may be limited, they are beneficial to a depressed person (Hagerty). Social
relationships with close friends have proved to help lower depression rates and even make it less
severe. Relationships are extremely beneficial to depression because they often help prevent severe
depression or even overcome it over time. Relationships boost confidence from their partner and
provide them with the idea that they are not alone. It has been proven that those who do not have
depression also tend to relate more with those that do have it because non depressed people tend to
have a more positive outlook on life and tend to be more giving and understanding. Overall, if a
depressed person allows for it, relationships and social support have only proved to benefit people

Seated Statue Of Nehy Analysis
The Seated Statue of Nehy is a white limestone Egyptian sculpture from the New Kingdom period
dating back to 1250 1200 BCE with the measurements of 51 15/16 x 17 3/4 x 34 9/16 inches. The
sculpture s accession number is 22.106. It was discovered in the Memphite necropolis of Saqqara and
was acquired by Henry Walters in 1924 (Egyptian Art New Kingdom 92). The sculpture exhibits
texture, large scale, and stylization, which is common in Egyptian sculpture. It is typical of Egyptian
sculpture to have an upright and stiff posture and that is exactly how Nehy is portrayed. She is
depicted like she would be in everyday life, but in an idealized and stylized manner; she has a round
face, long curls, large eyes, a small mouth, big eyebrows and big ... Show more content on

The carved inscriptions on Nehy s gown are a list of the offerings to the lords of the Necropolis.
According to the Walters Art Museum website the inscriptions translate to bread, beer, oxen and fowl,
wine, incense, libation water and all good and pure things for the Ka of the Osiris, the Mistress of the
House, the Chantress of the Mistress of Heaven, She of the Southern Sycamore, Nehy, True of Voice.
These offerings were to ensure that Nehy would have a good place in the afterlife. The mentioning of
the Southern Sycamore alludes to Hathor, which further confirms that Nehy was a musician for the
Goddess. Saying that Nehy has the Ka of the Osiris and describing her as true of voice shows that she
is worthy of a fine afterlife (Egyptian Art New Kingdom

Analysis Of Jay Gatsby s The Great Gatsby
Money Money Money
47854
AP English Hagar
3/28/15
Jay Gatsby, an exotic millionaire philanthropist, has everything and anything a man could ever need.
He lives a life most could only dream of. A life full of massive parties, sports cars, mansions, and
booze. Yet he is missing something, he is missing the only thing that could make him truly happy, to
live a life with Daisy Buchanan. He knew that when he kissed this girl, and forever wed his
unutterable visions to her perishable breath, his mind would never romp again like the mind of God.
(pg 119). He was in love with Daisy, and he opened up to her, only to lose her to Tom who had the
money to support her. Money could not buy Gatsby happiness and finally ends up destroying him.
Wealth has both benefits and dangers. Extreme wealth has the power to allow someone almost
unlimited potential, however wealth can easily corrupt and change a person for the worse. Once
someone has a taste of wealth they always want more. A prime example of this is the Wilsons, Myrtle
and George. They both die because they truly believed money could buy them happiness. [Tom] What
do you want money for, all of a sudden? [George] I ve been here too long. I want to get away. My wife
and I want to go west. Your wife does! exclaimed Tom, startled. [George]She s been talking about it
for ten years. He rested for a moment against the pump, shading his eyes. And now she s going
whether she wants to or not. I m going to get her away (pg 131).

Hesitation, Repression, and Indecisiveness in the Love...
Impotent, pathetic, inadequate, timid. Everyone knows a J. Alfred Prufrock, and everyone has a bit of
him in himself or herself. Just like Prufrock we readers have been witness to the pretentious triviality
of others, the women who come and go/ Talking of Michelangelo (lines 13 14), and the lack of
confidence which prevents the realization of desires. Eliot s careful choice of epigraph from Dante s
Inferno reverberates throughout this poem as the logic behind Prufrock sharing his feelings with his
listener. Just as Guido da Montefeltro is certain his listener shares a similar fate as himself, so to does
Prufrock believe that his listener is like himself, and will never turn back and descend the stair (line
39). Prufrock s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Death also signifies Prufrock s lack of social contact and sexual stimulation. The word etherized not
only means to numb, but is also suggestive of the word ethereal. Prufrock s repressed desire can be
seen in his frustration with the reality of social/emotional interaction and also with the ethereal,
inexpressible inner desire of his heart, not just to ask an overwhelming question , but further, to say
exactly what he means as in line 104. Unable to force the moment to its crisis leaves Prufrock
emotionally impotent. Unlike Marvell and his coy mistress Prufrock does not have all the time in the
world to malinger, stretched on the floor. Trivializing his message of desire, as in the rhyme of lines
79 80 or referring to himself as John the Baptist only further hinders the expression of his desire. And
we can only imagine in Eliot s use of religious images in which Prufrock wept and fasted, wept and
prayed that Prufrock is fervently hoping for the self confidence to express his desires. Yet after the
social banter/conventions of the cups, the marmalade, the tea , the porcelain and some talk of you and
me Prufrock is still unable to seize the moment, to turn desire into action. Presuming that Prufrock is
largely reflecting on these issues himself rather than to another listener one notices that he is unable to
even mention his desires to himself, so deeply

Read one paper about Hofstede or Kolhberg « Cultural constraints in management theories » «
Management scientists are human ». Find an example company from your country to explain the

Hofstede, « Cultural constraints in management theories »
To explain these cultural constraints in management theories, I choose the French company Renault.
Renault is an historical group, strongly present in Europe. Renault has always been a vector for
innovation. It is the 2nd French car manufacturer and possesses three brands: Renault, Dacia and
Renault Samsung Motors.

Hence, it reduces innovation and creativity among the staff. This strict chain of command slows down
decision making. Moreover, the company practises downsizing which means that it decreases the
number of employees but in the case of Renault it becomes dumbsizing since the employees work too
much and are overcontrolled.
Additionally, the employees of the company have to refer to too many managers. Thus, the
information is overloaded and employees are over busied. They become counterproductive. They don
t know what tasks to prioritize and are under pressure all the time from their different superiors. This
is due to a matrix organization.
B) Working condition and atmosphere
1) Pressure / Tension
The employees have to bear a huge pressure on their shoulders from the hierarchy. They work more
than they should (up to 10 hours a day, they work overtime and even during the weekend). Besides,
they have no professional recognition, and thus, no esteem of their work. They feel no support from
the leaders and have the same feedbacks, whether they have done good work or not.
They also feel a big tension, because as there is no communication between employees and leaders,
there is a lower knowledge of what is done, what is happening between the employees and so on. This
leads to a rise of anxiety, and the job is more and more stressful.
Employees don t see the input of all the efforts they put into their jobs. According to Adam s equity
theory diagram, even though

I can say this because in the monologue, the curious woman set out various examples such as on lines 1 and 2 it says The woman I am in my dreams is taller than i am. I think this precise sentence means that she wants to stand tall/up for herself and support her own opinions, which leads to my first point. A another obvious example is, on lines 24 28 she reveals The woman I am in my dreams her legs are straight and sure, they don t fall out from under her, they don t hide under long skirts her legs and feet are well. • 3. Language Death Essay Main Issues: The way in which our world functions today is a result of colonialization. Language death and linguistic endangerment is woven with colonialization and the history of oppression toward indigenous communities. We cannot speak of language death without first acknowledging the speakers and the systematic oppression that indigenous communities continue struggling to resist. In present time language shifts due to economic incentive of hegemony and the mediating role of language ideologies are two of the most important causes of language death. Language shift and language ideologies that ultimately cause language death are current consequences of colonialization. The death of a language has both of linguistic and cultural consequences to the particular community affected and to the world s diversity as a whole. Languages serve as carries of cultural knowledge, as identity and verbal art, hence when a language is lost cultural resources, identity and verbal art are lost. One of the most important causes of language death is language shifts due to economic incentives of hegemony. A language shift is when people adopt the language of the hegemonic society replacing their mother tongue in both their personal and professional lives (Mithum 1998:182). The shift of language is motivated by the hope for economic prosper as hegemonic languages like English and French dominate the economic market place. • 8. Diesel Powered Vehicles Initial purchasing costs of gas over diesel powered vehicles is usually a large factor that consumers take into account when purchasing a vehicle. Research has shown that on average, a diesel version versus gasoline version of the same vehicle, is $5,045 more than the gasoline version. (Vincentric, 2012) Consumers buying on a budget have to take these factors into consideration, which generally means that in more consumer oriented cars and SUVs, the gasoline version sells much better than the diesel. Common reasons for this is that usually consumers associate diesel engines with the loud, smoke blowing pickup trucks that smoke out an entire intersection. So people in the market for a vehicle that haven t done their homework on the diesel powered version are more than likely to pick the gasoline version. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now while diesel prices have averaged 14 percent more per gallon than gasoline over that last decade (Staff @ WorkTruckOnline, 2011), there is an equalizer in this whole situation. The diesel s fuel economy advantage over the gasoline powered version actually balances out the cost of the two fuels with each s relative fuel economy. A diesel vehicle emits more greenhouse gas emissions when burnt than gasoline, but its higher energy content per gallon results in higher fuel efficiency for the vehicle. So, as a result, the diesel can go further on a single gallon than a gasoline truck, meaning it produces very similar greenhouse gas emissions as the gasoline powered engine, while running nearly the same cost for fuel per mile as a gasoline powered ... Throughout my life I have repeatedly heard everyone around me say Change is for the better , a generic phrase that gives false hope to something that does not have a clear answer. The truth is that change can be both good and bad depending on the situation. Hollywood is currently in the process of a major change as it keeps branching further and further away from what it once was. As the popularity of movies continues to rise, the boundaries of what is possible in the movie industry are becoming limitless. With the help of modern technology, Hollywood has turned its attention to how well they can make a movie look, rather than the actual acting itself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite all of their hard work, it may be impossible for some to achieve the looks that are desired in Hollywood due to genetics and body structure. Many stuntmen turn to illegal drugs and steroids in order to stay afloat in their industry. It makes some sense: If you re asked to body double for Ryan Gosling without the benefit of his trainer and his personal chef, you ll be tempted to take a shortcut, too. (64). Due to the lack of resources, stuntmen turn to dangerous drugs to be more successful with their career. If stuntmen are having troubles achieving the body standard that has been set for them, imagine an average young adult attempting to attain the looks of someone they see in a movie. It would be very unrealistic to try to achieve such a standard. This is because average young adults don t have the time or the resources to attain a perfect body. It often makes us wonder what inspired the artist to say what he or she said and why they chose to put it together that way. Certain artists are capable of leaving a lasting legacy that people pass on from generation to generation. It is easier for one to become influenced by an artist s work if they are exposed to it at a younger age. More often than not, people will gravitate towards a certain artist because they can find a way to connect with the writer. The ability to decipher, process and think deeply about an artists lyrics in order to find the meaning behind them is key to unlocking the impactfulness of the song. Although not considered a traditional Beatles song, John Lennon is well known for his song Imagine and the impact it had on society. LIFE OF LENNON Lennon was born in Liverpool, England on October 9, 1940 to parents Fred and Julia. After his mother died when he was 17 years old, John started a band named The Quarrymen. The application of Uber takes full advantage of cars not only relieve the congestion but also cuts emissions, which benefits the sustainability of society. 2)Boost economy for some cities. One study found that 14% of Airbnb customer would not visit a city without Airbnb (Heinrichs, 2013). As Airbnb rental is cheaper than hotel services, people tend to travel with Airbnb, which also promote the tourism in these cities. Demerits 1)Hidden danger caused by fuzzy rules. There remain no clear rules to regulate the peer to peer business, which will cause great danger. If a car accident occurs to Uber driver, who should take the responsibility, the driver, the passenger, or Uber whereas Uber may just claim that it just is a communication platform for car pooling service. Some of those questions have answers and some do not. In this essay we will take a look at some of them that has biblical answers. The first question is did John write the gospel bearing his name? Second, who was the audience that he was writing to? Third, what was the purpose of John writing the gospel? Did John write the gospel bearing his name? In the gospel of John it never provides the name of the author. There are no other indications in the bible either. There are two important factors that tell us that John is the author. In the Gospel of John it identifies the author as the disciple whom Jesus loved. This likely pointed to John and there are three reasons. First, John was one of the twelve disciples, he was a witness of the actual events (John 21:14). He was part of the inner circle of the disciples because Mary told him first of the resurrection (John 20:1 10). John was distinguished from others in the book. The Gospel of John was discovered around AD 135. However, some scholars think that it was written (AD 70) when Jerusalem was destroyed. This writer believes that AD 85 90 is the more accepted time for the writing of the Gospel of John. Who was the audience that he was writing to? • 13. Dangers Of Social Cohesion There are many different ideas about humanity and how it works and what things make it work the best. There are some sociology theorist have a more positive view on humanity and believe that humanity works best when people have relationships and more human interaction thus creating society and its regulations as we know them. There are many benefits of social cohesion, but there are also downfalls of this as well according to some theorist and these are referred to as social control. Social cohesion is when those in a social system identify with it and feel bound to support it, especially its norms, beliefs, and values. Social control is how a community or society regulates a person s behavior. Ultimately, the benefits of social cohesion outweigh the dangers of social control. Without the benefits of social cohesion, the dangers of social control would be intensified because of the lack thereof. Durkheim, Erikson, Putnam and Collins are theorists who all take a stance on the benefits of social cohesion. Some of their ideas are identical to one another or have some similar points and all connect in some way. Durkheim says that social cohesion protects people from anomie and anomic suicide. • 14. Uncertainty As A Necessary Property Of The Universe Uncertainty as a Necessary Property of the Universe There is a value in being uncertain about certainty; the value is seen in stress reduction, both in science/professional life as well as in day to day mundane life. The value also exists in the perpetuation or the drive for innovation. The common knee jerk reaction to a presentation of uncertainty is to hold fear or contempt, but after some more careful consideration, uncertainty appears to be very important in nature. There are even ways to capitalize, or exploit, uncertainty for benefit. In science or professional life, embracing uncertainty allows for loosened restrictions on modeling (not to be confused with gross negligence; not referring to introduced uncertainties), higher level induction via empirically determined boundary conditions, and boons in funding for research. The mathematical model only needs to apply to a specific set of conditions. As a scientist, you need not focus on a general model that accounts for all variables. Stresses involved when pressed for resources are then reduced because the focus can be deliberately placed on only the variables you are exploring, or validity of the model needs to be only with a specific set of conditions. The final model can yield nonsense acceptably when used outside the intended conditions. Additionally, boundary conditions can be identified leading to general evolution of systems. I connected instantly with these children, because to me they were unique in my eyes and it made me look at teaching in a whole new perspective I came to understand that special needs students have a huge an effect from outside of school, just similar to Bowlby s experience with maladjusted children he explained, first, he found that he could communicate with the disturbed children at the school, and found, moreover, that their psychological problems seemed to be linked to their unhappy and disrupted childhood (Fear, ... • 21. Does The Welfare System Work Essay In 1935 president Roosevelt create the Welfare system as a result of the first depression, with the main goal to decrease or end poverty in America. In the last fifty years the US poverty rate has gone from 14.3% to 14.8 percent, these numbers prove that poverty in America has has increased. The topic of my essay is: Does the Welfare System work? In my opinion,Welfare could be effective, if it s rules are reinforced and a two year time limit is establish. Welfare affects the United States because, causes national debt, dependency from its users and affects the middle class financially. First of all, Welfare plays one of the major factors why the United States still in debt, there are one hundred and twenty six antipoverty programs in America today. The nationwide welfare spending has risen from $107 billion to $688 billion dollars, which is an average of 640% with the ultimate goal to decrease or end poverty in America. • 22. Pollution And Environmental Problems Of Mankind Name: Instructor: Course: Date: Pollution and environmental problems of mankind In recent years, we often hear and use the word ecology , but one can hardly assume that everyone understands him correctly. About even the experts argue what meaning people should invest in this concept. In the meantime, they argue, laymen have realized such ecological minimum: it means to breathe clean air, drink clean water, eat food without nitrates and glow in the dark. The term ecology (from the Greek oikos a house, dwelling place, and logos science) was provided in 1866 by the German zoologist Ernst Haeckel, who introduced it into use to refer to general science about the organisms and their environment. But now the concept of ecology has already gone far beyond the scope of what to put in it and Ernst Haeckel as specified in the reference books and encyclopedias. Now it is an independent science about the environment (in terms of its interactions with living organisms and, above all people). It nourishes not only and not so much biology, but almost all of Earth science meteorology, hydrology, oceanography, climatology, geography, geology with the necessary for their physical and mathematical and chemical methods, as well as sociology, psychology and economics. Such an extension of detention of Ecology and offset of accents demanded rapid quantitative growth of humanity, which began to realize the dangers that threaten the entire planet (nuclear disaster, potential ... • 23. Effective Use Of Metaphors In Fences By August Wilson Many people use metaphors to make an example or for people to better understand a given statement. In the play Fences by August Wilson two main metaphors are redundant; most involving fences. Every character is shown having their own meaning and need for their metaphorical fences. Wilson wrote a play that would not only show deeper meaning than what is being said but one that showed a greater insight on the lives of a small family. The first character is Troy Maxon. The significance of Troy s metaphorical fence is built upon throughout the play. In troys case his metaphorical fence is to keep death away from him, his things, and the ones he loves. Alright...Mr. Death. See now.... I m gonna tell you what i m gonna do. I m gonna take me a fence around this yard. See? I m gonna build me a fence around what belongs to me. And then you to stay on the other side. See? Stay over there until your ready for me... (2.2). In this scene you see an insight on how Troy thinks of the fence as more than just any fence, he thinks of it as something that could even stop the forces of death from entering his home. Troy s efforts to wall off his home resonate with his ongoing conflict with Mr. Death by fortifying the perimeter of his home, Troy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Later in the play he comes back to be with his mother so that he could mend his fence with her back together; although she accepts him back with loving arms it still shows Cory s resentment to troy when he refuses to go to his funeral. By having different actors/actresses reading the same scene from Medea, it allowed me to see what the purpose of the play was as well as the personal lesson it taught me. The purpose of this play was to see the emotions of Medea and to validate her reason for murdering her two kids. The personal lesson it taught me was to stick up for yourself no matter how bad your situation/circumstance is. Also, this presentation allowed me to also appreciate the character Medea. • 26. The Issue Of Income Inequality Essay Income inequality has slowly become an issue gaining momentum over the last thirty five years, did we see it coming, I think so. It has always been an issues, only after decades of misleading political leadership spanning decades are people finally fed up of being misled and lied to. The current election for the next president has brought about a voice of the American people to demand a change within our three failing political systems that govern America. Only this change, I believe is going to bring a country to its knees, the wealth holders are not, going to just step aside and willing unlock the scales of wealth that to encumber its poor, they are going to dig in and hold fast to what they have stolen and hoarded since the time of slavery. Broken at the foundation Congress failed in its obligation to keep a close watch on the small increasing hikes in taxation, that repeatedly brought sanctions on the poor, that created a false redistribution of wealth in America, for the last three decades income disparity has reach an all time high for selective groups of Americans. The government influenced income inequality and growth by shifting support to ambiguous government supported programs, that benefitted a selective groups of Americans by lessening their taxation rate, while snowballing the tax imposed on the poorest Americans. The riches 1 10% have accumulated an increase in wealth approximately 7.5 times over the normal working household in the US. The article ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Interventions and Care for Patients Evidence Based Practice Paper Evidence based practice uses current research and clinical judgment to provide interventions and care for patients (Kelly, 2012). It is important for nurses and all healthcare team members to be up to date on current practices so patients can receive evidence based interventions that improve clinical outcomes. According to Kelly (2012), almost half of patients that receive care, receive interventions that are not based on evidence which can ultimately compromise the safety of patients and their health outcomes. Peripheral intravenous therapy (PIV) is a common practice in the acute care setting and evidence based practices have been established to drive appropriate care for this intervention. Almost all patients that are admitted into the acute care setting require peripheral intravenous therapy. PIV therapy is an important factor in the care of patients in the hospital and it is most often used to maintain or correct fluid and electrolyte balances, administer medications, and replace blood or blood products (Ignatavicius and Workman, 2013). PIV therapy is an invasive therapy that requires catheter insertion into the vascular system and access is gained through the patient s skin. Because this is an invasive procedure, patients are at a risk of developing catheter related infections. Catheter related infections are preventable and as nurses it is our responsibility to maintain the PIV site and use the appropriate protocols and interventions to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A few examples are The Second Amendment is not an unlimited right to own guns, more gun control laws would reduce gun deaths and more gun control leads to fewer suicides in the United States. The gun control category I am focusing on in this essay is, should teachers and students be able to carry firearms on a college campus. I chose this since I am currently attending college and this could have an effect directly on me or ASU. The idea of teachers and staff being able to carry firearms on a college campus has come up many times in the media recently due to the rise in mass shootings. Many states are now looking at this problem and voting on it. This topic is always heavily debated due to the many different sides and varying beliefs on gun control and safety. The NRA (National Rifle Association) has a heavy influence on the united states and who should be allowed guns and what legislation is passed. The gun control topic of firearms on a college campus has become politicized and is commonly drawn into political debates and has become a political tool for winning elections. Some states have already voted and taken action on this new idea and have allowed staff to carry guns on campuses and in cars parked and locked in secure parking lots. The sculpture s accession number is 22.106. It was discovered in the Memphite necropolis of Saqqara and was acquired by Henry Walters in 1924 (Egyptian Art New Kingdom 92). The sculpture exhibits texture, large scale, and stylization, which is common in Egyptian sculpture. It is typical of Egyptian sculpture to have an upright and stiff posture and that is exactly how Nehy is portrayed. • 32. Analysis Of Jay Gatsby s The Great Gatsby Money Money Money 47854 AP English Hagar 3/28/15 Jay Gatsby, an exotic millionaire philanthropist, has everything and anything a man could ever need. He lives a life most could only dream of. A life full of massive parties, sports cars, mansions, and booze. Yet he is missing something, he is missing the only thing that could make him truly happy, to live a life with Daisy Buchanan. He knew that when he kissed this girl, and forever wed his unutterable visions to her perishable breath, his mind would never romp again like the mind of God. (pg 119). He was in love with Daisy, and he opened up to her, only to lose her to Tom who had the money to support her. Money could not buy Gatsby happiness and finally ends up destroying him. Wealth has both benefits and dangers. Extreme wealth has the power to allow someone almost unlimited potential, however wealth can easily corrupt and change a person for the worse. Once someone has a taste of wealth they always want more. A prime example of this is the Wilsons, Myrtle and George. They both die because they truly believed money could buy them happiness. [Tom] What do you want money for, all of a sudden? [George] I ve been here too long. I want to get away. My wife and I want to go west. Your wife does! exclaimed Tom, startled. [George]She s been talking about it for ten years. He rested for a moment against the pump, shading his eyes. And now she s going whether she wants to or not. I m going to get her away (pg 131). ... • 33. Hesitation, Repression, and Indecisiveness in the Love... Impotent, pathetic, inadequate, timid. Everyone knows a J. Alfred Prufrock, and everyone has a bit of him in himself or herself. Just like Prufrock we readers have been witness to the pretentious triviality of others, the women who come and go/ Talking of Michelangelo (lines 13 14), and the lack of confidence which prevents the realization of desires. Eliot s careful choice of epigraph from Dante s Inferno reverberates throughout this poem as the logic behind Prufrock sharing his feelings with his listener. Just as Guido da Montefeltro is certain his listener shares a similar fate as himself, so to does Prufrock believe that his listener is like himself, and will never turn back and descend the stair (line 39). Prufrock s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Death also signifies Prufrock s lack of social contact and sexual stimulation. The word etherized not only means to numb, but is also suggestive of the word ethereal. Prufrock s repressed desire can be seen in his frustration with the reality of social/emotional interaction and also with the ethereal, inexpressible inner desire of his heart, not just to ask an overwhelming question , but further, to say exactly what he means as in line 104. Unable to force the moment to its crisis leaves Prufrock emotionally impotent. Unlike Marvell and his coy mistress Prufrock does not have all the time in the world to malinger, stretched on the floor. Trivializing his message of desire, as in the rhyme of lines 79 80 or referring to himself as John the Baptist only further hinders the expression of his desire. And we can only imagine in Eliot s use of religious images in which Prufrock wept and fasted, wept and prayed that Prufrock is fervently hoping for the self confidence to express his desires. Yet after the social banter/conventions of the cups, the marmalade, the tea , the porcelain and some talk of you and me Prufrock is still unable to seize the moment, to turn desire into action. Presuming that Prufrock is largely reflecting on these issues himself rather than to another listener one notices that he is unable to even mention his desires to himself, so deeply ... Additionally, the employees of the company have to refer to too many managers. Thus, the information is overloaded and employees are over busied. They become counterproductive.
