Summary Of Quiet Night
After interviewing primarily night shift nurses, PCNAs, patients, patient families, the floor nursing
manager and all five assistant nurse managers about Quiet Night , I was able to pick up on what was
the root cause of the low score on Quiet Night on the HCAHPS survey score for the unit. * Initially
interviewed 24 patients and families, 2 assistant nursing managers, the floor manager, 4 PCNA s and
10 night shift nurses and 3 day shift nurses on the floor. * Patient and family stated that they do not get
any information about Quiet night ; in fact, they did not know what quiet night is. * Patient s states the
main problem with their quite a night is not so much the noise unless they are by the nursing station
but so much of

Essay About Ferdinand Magellan
While Ferdinand Magellan was still living he had once said, The sea is dangerous and its storms
terrible, but these obstacles have never been sufficient reason to remain ashore...unlike the mediocre,
intrepid spirits seek victory over those things that seem impossible...it is with an iron will that they
embark on the most daring of all endeavors...to meet the shadowy future without fear and conquer the
unknown. A what he means by this is, to achieve your goal you have to work hard in order to make it
happen.
On February 3, 1480, Ferdinand Magellan was born to mother, Alada de Mesquita, and father, Rodrigo
de Magalhães, in Villa Real, Province of Traz os Montes in Portugal, Spain. For education, he was
well tutored at home, then spent years at the Portuguese court. When he was just 10 years of age, he
became an orphan after both of his parents passed away in 1490. He was educated at the Queens
School of Pages, Libson, and was fortunate to get used to subjects such as, astronomy, cartography,
and celestial navigation, which was useful for his life as an adult. Ferdinand was given the job of
messenger in the queens court. He also learned about ships while working there. In 1505, Magellan
joined the expedition of Francisco d Almeida to India. Also in 1512, Ferdinand decided to try sailing
around the world. Sadly Portugal refused to finance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Raise The Driving Age To 18
Driving mishaps can happen to anyone, but they happen all too frequently to teenage drivers because
of their lacking significant experience behind the wheel...in recent years, safety experts, elected
officials, and public policy experts have focused on strengthening such state laws with the goal of
making the roads safer for teens. (Andrews, 2) New laws should be made to keep teens and the road a
safer place. The driving age should be raised to 18 to reduce many dangers.
The first reason is so we can lower teen deaths. Just a few years ago 2,270 teens died from car
accidents, and 221,313 were sent into the emergency room. Not only that but teens were accounted for
11% of the total cost for car accident injuries. This information supports the text because it shows how
motor vehicles deadly impact teen lives and how we should raise the age limit to keep themselves and

This will help make teens less distracted on the road. Phones and technology is a big distraction and
danger, once they are 18 drivers will be more responsible to stop. The human brain is fully matured at
20 years old, so starting to drive at 18 years old, they will be more mature and responsible which
makes them safer. Also, studies have shown that it is impossible to truly multitask . This is important
because that means teens are taking most of their attention of the road and putting their attention on
the electronics. This is significant because now that teens have switched their attention to other
distraction, this dangers other drivers around them. Stopping the unhealthy multitasking can make the
road a more trustworthy place.
To conclude, raising the driving age will reduce many dangers in teen s life. This will lower teen
deaths, decrease obesity, and end certain road distractions. We need to let our legislators know that
you support the driving age being raised to 18. This law can safe generations to

Internet Service Providers Essay
We think we can do whatever we want to on the Internet, but can we really? In this day and age,
people log on and surf the web without a second thought, and often take the freedoms of the Internet
for granted. One of the most valuable things about the Internet is that it s open and equal. Anyone can
access or create new websites, and as of now, each website is treated the same. Unfortunately, this
freedom is being threatened and the Internet as we know it could change for good.
Net Neutrality is the idea that Internet providers should treat all websites and Internet services the
same. Major internet providers are now making the argument that they should be allowed to charge
their customers more money, depending on what the customer uses ... Show more content on

This new policy would introduce hurt more then it would help. Institutions like public libraries,
schools and other places that offer Wi Fi for use would have to pay tremendous costs. Schools, for
example, are having a hard enough time obtaining the funding for materials like school supplies or for
qualified teachers, and to add the cost of individual websites that students need access to is unfair and
in some schools, impossible.
This proposal would also allow ISP s to block certain websites all together. For example, Verizon
could block Google completely, forcing their customers to pay for the Verizon search engine. Not only
would it add extra costs to your internet bill, but it would also create a tiered internet. This means that
not only would customers have to pay for certain websites, but those same costly sites would have to
pay the ISPs as well. A tiered internet means that a few websites would get high speed priority and be
favored over other sites. To be placed in these high speed tiers, the websites would have to pay huge
amounts of money to the ISPs. Why should the Internet Service Providers have full, unrestricted
access to control everything that goes on online?
A tiered Internet would effect everyone, and not always in a good way. If you are an avid Netflix user,
and are constantly watching shows, then the fact that their Internet service speed was lightning fast
would be enjoyable. But if you had to go on a smaller site that was less widely

Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy ( Ftir )
In vitro dissolution studies Relative in vitro dissolution behaviour of pure docetaxel and optimized
SNEP was assessed in simulated gastric fluid without enzyme (500 mL; pH 1.2; 37±0.5°C) as
dissolution medium using USP type II paddle apparatus (Electrolab, India) at a paddle rotation speed
of 50 rpm. At predetermined time points, an aliquot of 5 mL was withdrawn and equal volume of the
fresh dissolution medium was replaced to maintain the medium volume constant. All the samples were
filtered using Millipore membrane filter (0.45 µm, Millipore, USA), diluted and the concentration of
docetaxel was assayed by HPLC. Various dissolution parameters such as dissolution efficiency (DE),
mean dissolution time (MDT), initial dissolution rate (IDR), and mean dissolution rate (MDR) were
calculated to assess the dissolution profiles [29,30]. Solid state characterization Fourier transform
infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) FTIR spectrum of the samples was recorded by KBr disc method using
Perkin Elmer FT IR Spectrometer (Paragon 1000, PerkinElmer, Waltham, Massachusetts, USA) to
illustrate the promising interactions among components used in the formulation. Powder sample (4

How To Write A Personal Memoir

(Rebecca McNutt, Smog City) Over the course of my life, I ve moved several times, and each time I

When I first entered school and had to start making friends, I tried very hard but always seemed to had
issues socializing. Somehow, I ended up being the target of bullies all the time as a kid, with few
friends who always stuck around. As I moved around the first few times between towns in Upstate
New York, this kept happening. It seemed I just didn t know how to make good friends, or at least not
many. But, this all ended when I moved out to California halfway through Middle School. I made a
few very good friends after I came to Larchmont, and they helped me open myself up to more people.
I made more friends than I ever had in my life, and began to spend time outside of school socializing
something I d never done before. Through all of this change, my closest friends were still the same
type of people I d always sought out my entire life; it had always been more creative type people.
Whether they focused their creative efforts towards games, art, writing or music, that was always the
main thing that connected my closest friends to me. Also, despite my more extroverted approach now,

Character Analysis Of Mrs. Dalloway, By Virginia Woolf
Written by Virginia Woolf, Mrs. Dalloway is a fictional novel that concentrates on the daily
encounters of Clarissa Dalloway and her flashbacks. Woolf s stream of consciousness technique and
third person narration gives the reader an insight into the doings and feelings of the various characters
in the novel. Woolf s commentary focuses on the oppression that resulted from World War I. This is
seen primarily in Septimus Warren Smith, who suffers from shell shock and serves as a double of
Clarissa. On a Wednesday in June, Clarissa, who is currently 52 years old, introduces the readers to a
plethora of streets in Westminster and also the up scale guests who will be attending her party that
evening. Clarissa is known for her lavish parties, thrown for the purpose of allowing important people
to chat, while maintaining her upper class image that was gained through her marriage with Mr.
Dalloway. The plot of the novel is simple, yet readers know intricate details about the characters
through their thoughts. In Mrs. Dalloway, Virginia Woolf uses Clarissa s isolation, her realization of
life and death, and the relationships between the characters in a single day during the post World War I
era to express the feelings and thoughts of Clarissa, who hears the striking of Big Ben and reflects
upon her past. Mrs. Dalloway, although married to Richard Dalloway and living in an apartment with
Sally Seton, displays signs of isolation and loneliness. Her parties are a way for her to

Force Of Natural Selection
. In my own words when I think of natural selection I think that it means that the fittest survive. Also
that when the fitness survive they are automatically given the opportunity to keep their genes going.
This process of the weak dying off and the strong moving on is what makes everything living thing
evolve into the best. The next force of evolution is genetic drift I think that this means that just sheer
chance the weak genes actually move on and some strong genes do not move on. The third force of
evolution is gene flow and I describe this force as a change in a group because of certain genes that
came into their group from migration or immigration. The last force is mutation and I describe it as a
change in the gene that results in different

The Transnational Crime Of Drug Trafficking
In this research paper I will discuss one transnational crime, and compare the contrast of two nations
for their definition of the crime rate, and tools used to measure the crime. I will give each country s
legal tradition and their major influences on crime definition, rate, and measurement. In this
assignment I will analyze the extent to which crime statistics collected in different nations can
adequately be compared. I have chosen to address the transnational crime of drug trafficking in Japan
and China. The Japanese legal custom is emulated after the European Civil Law, but is persuaded by
the English American legal customs. Japan is generally considered to be a constitutional monarchy.
The judicial branch is led by a Supreme Court whose members are approved by the cabinet. A court
whose members is appointed by the cabinet such as France and Britain, Japan is a unitary state; that is,
it does not hold a federal system of government with division of powers between states and the federal
government. The crime rate in Japan is low compared to crime rates in other countries. The crime
statistics in Japan are compiled by individual criminal justice agencies and summarized by the
Ministry of justice into a statistical yearbook called the White Paper on Crime. You might ask yourself
what is White Paper on crime? It involves the research of the system wide method of arbitration,
deterrence and prosecution, with a thought to reducing offending and

1. How would you describe the competitive strategy of the ALLTEL Pavilion? Given the firm s
strategy, what are the most important Key Performance Indicators (e.g., quantitative measures) for the
Pavilion to track and manage if it is to achieve its goal of continuous annual growth in operating
income?
ALLTEL Pavilion is operated by SFX Entertainment in an outdoor atmosphere for its customers.
ALLTEL attempts to create a competitive advantage as the major outdoor concert venue in the
Triangle area of North Carolina consisting of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. The amphitheater has
art like acoustics and video differentiating the venue with trying to keep costs budgeted for each

B. How many tickets must ALLTEL Pavilion sell to earn $30,000 operating income after taxes,
assuming a 40 percent tax rate?
Is it reasonable to assume this level of operating income will be achieved? Briefly explain. $30,000 /
(1 0.40) = 4x($40.08 $3.05) + 1x($13.09 $3.05) $263,245 $30,000 / (1 0.40) = x($158.16) $265,245
$30,000 = x($94.896) $157,947 $187,947 = x($94.896) x = 1980.5577 tickets 1(1980.5577) = 1981
comp tickets 4(1980.5577) = 7923 paying tickets in order to earn $30,000 Operating Income after
taxes The total number of 7923 paying tickets is reasonable to be achieved, although it is above the
number of 7000 tickets that the reserved seating can actually hold at ALLTEL Pavilion.
3. What should be the average ticket price (for all ticket types combined A through D) for the KFBS
concert if the fixed pay fee is $200,000 (rather than $160,635) and the Pavilion expects to sell 7,000
tickets and wants to earn $30,000 operating income after 40 percent in taxes?
After you estimate the average ticket price for all ticket types combined (which is $22.12 for the
situation depicted in Exhibit 2), estimate the price for each type of seat (i.e., in Exhibit 2: A $36.29, B
$22.22, C $11.31, D $4.92). [Hint: assume the sales mix for A, B, C, and D seats remains the same as
the mix in the Flash Report (Exhibit 2).] $30,000 / (1 0.40) = 7000 ($13.09 $3.05)

The American Automotive Industry Incurred A Major Crisis
Between 2008 and 2009, the American automotive industry incurred a major crisis, on the heels of the
housing market collapse occurring in 2007 (Klier Ribenstein, 2013). General Motors was already in a
financial vulnerable situation at this time, having already filed a $10.6 billion dollar loss three years
earlier (United States Securities and Exchange Commission, 2005). In 2007, General Motors losses
for the year were $38.7 billion and its sales had dropped a full forty five percent from the year before
(Weardenm, 2009; Usborne, 2008). By the end of 2008, the company was in such bad shape that
analyst predicted that the company would have the liquidate or discontinue operations without any
assistance from the government (Bosco Plante, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This restricting led to the death of three of its brands, Saturn, Pontiac, and Hummer, and the selling of
another (Sweden s Saab) to Spyker, a Dutch auto group (Krebs, 2009; Ahlander Bailey, 2010). The
company was left with five business segments and only four brands (Chevy, Cadillac, Buick, and
GMC) (Senter McManus, 2013; Maynard, 2009b). This decision to file for bankruptcy and restructure
the company was an excellent one because studies have shown that restructuring of the internal
workings of an organization increases both the efficiency of the company and its value to the
stockholders (Brickley Van Drunen, 1990). The positive effects of this restructuring is evidenced by
the ability of the government to successfully sale the entirety of its GM stock in 2013 for a total price
of $39 billion and General Motors realizing a 19% increase in sales in 2014 (McGrath, 2015; Isidore,
2013). To determine which vehicle models in the remaining brands of Cadillac, Buick, Chevy, and
GMC to continue producing, the new General Motors would have needed to undergo some research
process to determine which brands had the most growth potential and were the most value
maximizing. There are three types of research that I would propose for General Motors to undergo: a
statistical analysis, a consumer survey, and a dealership survey. The statistical analysis would study

Psychological Analysis of Skipping School
Psychological Analysis of Skipping School Education is what survives when what has been learned
has been forgotten. (Skinner) Skipping school and class among students at Glebe Collegiate Institute
has become a pressing issue. It not only affects the personal education of those who skip, but the other
students and teachers around them. Burrhus Frederic Skinner knew that obtaining a healthy education
can have a great impact on someone s future. By using and applying psychological theories and
perspectives, such as B.F. Skinner s theories of operant conditioning and Milgram s theory of
obedience, the number of students skipping class can be greatly decreased, and therefore promote a
better, healthier learning environment. As mentioned above, skipping school is a real issue amongst
students that does not go without consequence. However at Glebe the only real consequence for
students that skip is a delay or set back in their education. Which in the long run could have a
damaging effect on their overall high school career. It has been found that students who miss more
than 10 days of school each year are 20% less likely to graduate and have a 25% less chance of ever
enrolling in college or university. (Time) The problem with this consequence is that it s not great
enough; students who skip do not release their personal consequences to themselves so they do not
view it as an issue. Teachers at Glebe make it too easy to miss class; they do not offer any real

Spotlight Reflection
Recently in Journalism class, we watched the movie titled Spotlight which was based on the story of
the 87 priest molestation cases that occurred in Boston alone. This movie followed a team of
Journalists, the Spotlight Team, who worked for the Boston Globe. This team tracked down 87
molester priests and cultivated a story to bring attention to the issue. While there were a lot of
important concepts highlighted in this movie, the three main concepts of the film were on why this
issue has been happening for such an exaggerated period of time, preposterous events can occur in the
most unexpected places and that vulnerable people are effortlessly taken advantage of. The world let
these incidents go on for too long. For years, the priests not just in these Boston churches, but around
the globe had been performing inappropriate acts on powerless children in their churches. It was even
made known that these churches were fully aware of these events and masked the truth from their
communities. The church essentially wanted so desperately to believe that it was a minor flaw in the
system. In reality, it was happening in an exuberant amount of religious areas. It is partially based on
the statement that no one wants to cuff a priest because they feel that in a way, it would make them
look atrocious.
To keep muted on these events, people were put under restraint by their own family and friends. They
were told not to speak out about their molestation cases. The belief in the

Behavior, Socioeconomic Status, And Parental Stress
Conduct Disorders (CD) are affecting at least 3.5% of children in the United States today (Perou, et
al., 2013). Parenting style, Socioeconomic Status, and parental stress contribute to the development of
CD in young children (Harvey and Metcalfe, 2013).
According to (Rolon Arroyo, Arnold, Hunt 2014), CD is characterized by behavior that violates the
rights of others which affects 10% of the youth. CD symptoms emerge during preschool years and are
often confused with typical development in young children. Researchers have conducted studies with
families that are experiencing behavioral issues in young children. often these behaviors resembled
normal development and it is unclear when to label these physical and aggressive behavior in young
children as early onset of CD. When symptoms of CD are present it is a sign that other disorders are
emerging, such as Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) and Attention Hyperactive Deficit Disorder
(ADHD). Researchers have gathered data and studies have been conducted to help identify what are
the contributing factors for the development of these disorders in children. Data gathered in the last
ten years found that ODD is the most common prevalent childhood disorder (Pederson Fite 2014).
Researchers found that negative parenting affects the behavior of children and can be identified as
early as infancy. When early onset of CD is present, it leads to other externalizing of negative
behaviors and can lead to early onset of

Freedom Writers Toast For Change
Freedom Writers is a case study of traditional authority, deviance, race, and class because it shows
how customs recognize authority figures, how some practiced behaviors differ from society, and the
differences between classes. Freedom Writers is a movie created from the sociological perspectives of
a community that is covered in social inequality. The systematic study of human social behavior is
conveyed in the story of this group of teens, who are taught to fend for their own ethnicity.
Unfortunately, teens that are raised in poor economic conditions tend to turn to gangs, where they
readily identify themselves. For adolescents, it is important to discover whom they identify themselves
with.

The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night
The idea of Trust can be seen in the texts: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, Job, the
Truman Show and Inigma, each text is connected by the idea that Trust has effects on relationships.
From these texts, we learn that trust can have both positive and negative effects on people and
relationships in a range of texts.
Paragraph 1
In the novel the Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time, (Curious Incident) by Mark
Haddon, Christopher deals with the theme of Trust has positive and negative effects. This is shown
when he finds evidence about the truth of his mother and the truth that his father lied to him. This
causes Christopher to feel distrustful towards the relationship between him and his father. This is
illustrated when Christopher quotes his negative feelings after his father shouted at him I do not like

in both a positive and negative way such as how the damage of trust in the relationship between
Christopher and his father led to a negative effects in their relationship. Trust has positive and negative

Loan Proposal For Payday Loans
What if you were down on your luck, and short a couple hundred dollars for an electricity bill, and the
power company was threatening to turn off your power and none of your friends or family members
could help you out? What if you went to your employer and asked for an advance on your pay, and
they denied you? With the looming threat of losing power and the fees laid on top to get reconnected,
it may be easy to lose hope. There is, however, an entire financial industry set up to help with such
problems. A payday lender is probably nearby that will provide you a small, short term loan to help
you get back on your feet. Payday loans come in many forms, but generally speaking, they are small
($375 on average), short term (one to two weeks), high interest (391% API average) loans. Advocates
for payday loans argue that the loans are available for people who have emergencies like sudden
medical expenses, and are available when alternate sources of money are unavailable, or when the
alternatives may be more expensive. Opponents of payday loans point out the fact that a broad
majority of payday loans are not used for unexpected expenses, but are rather used for recurring
expenses. Opponents also argue that, while the loans are advertised as being short term, in reality, a
significant fraction of customers use payday loans repeatedly, and get trapped in a cycle of debt that is
exploitative. These people argue for state and sometimes federal regulations to curb the exploitative

Effects Of Reconstruction On African Americans
The Civil War caused mass destruction in the South as the Northern troops won battles and gained
power over the south, they destroyed everything in their path. After the Civil War, the south had
started to rebuild. This time period was called Reconstruction. Reconstruction was a hard time in the
South as the price of land was cheap and the price of crops was very low. As a result, many of the
southerners were poor. One group of people who were in danger of losing a large amount of money
during Reconstruction were slave owners, as the end of the Civil War freed all of the African
Americans from slavery. African Americans were greatly effected by Reconstruction. Reconstruction

Many whites still saw the blacks as slaves and treated them just the same. There were riots, where the

rights away from the blacks and caused them to be greatly segregated. Many of the whites in the North

The Human Development Index Is Vast Improvement on...
The critical difference between most development models and human development index is that most
development models exclusively focus on the expansion of income while the human development
index embraces embraces the enlargement of all human choices economic, political, social and
cultural which all affect income. Comparing countries GNP (or GDP) per capita is the most common
way of assessing their level of development. This model of economic growth was based on a very
weak foundation that was not sustainable over the long term politically, economically or ethically.
Higher per capita income in a country does not always mean that its people are better off than those in
a country with lower income, because there are many aspects of human ... Show more content on

It does not replace GDP, but it adds considerably to an understanding of the real position of a society
in several aspects, it is multi dimensional.
Poverty promotes vulnerability. By focusing on improving the education, health and skills of people, it
enables people to participate in the economy because there is a more equitable distribution of income
and assets, which results in a growth process as well as a share of benefits, particularly through
employment. Basically, if a country has already built up considerable human capital then by choosing
the correct policies and frameworks that allow the exploitation of these capabilities, room for progress
is created. Income is influx, consumption that at the end of a period will leave an individual with the
same amount goods as from the beginning of that particular period, with expectations of future goods.
This definition continues to embody my theory that the development of human capabilities is a source
of income. The human development index represents the presumed link between expanding income
and expanding human choices. In terms of longevity and stability, quality and distribution of
economic growth is more important than the rate of economic growth over a short period of time. A
link between growth and human lives must be created, government spending on social services, and
fiscal policies that allow social safety nets to be created within a

Benefits Of Small Class Size
Smaller Class Sizes Imagine being in a classroom filled with 30 or more students and being unable to
concentrate due to the loud, obnoxious students. Children from ages 5 10 are known to get easily
distracted. Elementary school students fall into this category. Reducing the class size for this age
group is a solution to this matter. Providing smaller class sizes can allow students to participate in
higher achievements and build a stronger bridge to success. Elementary schools should have smaller
class sizes. One reason why elementary schools should have smaller class sizes is because students are
able to receive more one on one time with their teacher. Students are allowed to enhance their learning
by being able to concentrate fully and receive the proper engagement with their teacher. According to
Garrett Delavan, 12 students per class is more beneficial. He proclaims that, Common sense and
research suggest that there is an optimal grouping size range where peer and adult interaction mutually
benefit one another (94). While agreeing with Delavan, students should be given the chance to be
more familiar with their peers and teacher. Allowing 12 students per class, provides students the
chance to interact with each other regularly. This is beneficial to both the student and the teacher s by
allowing them to build a stronger relationship. Teachers can easily split these 12 students into groups
and have more time to recognize each student. Students are also allowed to focus

who becomes conflicted upon his duties after meeting Colonel Joll. As the antagonist of the novel,
Colonel Joll coincides with the depraved actions of the Empire, one of the most prominent being

Through this comparison, however, he subliminally reveals that he is actually aware the girl at the inn
has an interior, one that he admits he deliberately disregards. Likewise, the Magistrate is completely
aware that the barbarian girl, too, has an interior. He degrades her by saying she does not, yet his quest
to figure her out consumes him. Also, instead of blatantly stating that she has no interior, he uses the
words as if. In this way, he suggests that there is an interior, perhaps one that he just has not found yet.
His failed attempts, then, bring him to refer to her as a body that has fallen into his bed that he seems
responsible [for], or so it seems, otherwise why do I keep it? Unlike how he refers to the inn girl
specifically as a sexual object, the barbarian girl is only sought as an object because the Magistrate
grows frustrated from her reluctance to open up to him. When he says, But of this one there is nothing
I can say with certainty, he refers to the barbarian girl as this one. This shows that he thinks of women
as attainable objects that he can easily control. In contrast to the girl at the inn, the barbarian girl is
impervious to his force. Because the Magistrate is not able to assert his dominance to gain control
over the barbarian girl, he grows frustrated and his curiosity morphs into an obsession. The

Metaethics, Normative, And Applied Ethical Theories
Ethical theory which can also be called moral philosophy is defined as the drive to analyze or
construct a system which can be anything that follows some type of rules. Defending and
recommending ideas of right and wrong behavior, ethical theories are usually divided into three
different subject areas which are metaethics, normative ethics, and applied ethics. Metaethics goes into
looking at where we get the ethics even come from and what do they mean, are they something that
we just made up, does it have do with more than just own emotions and feelings. The metaethical
answers that come out of this usually has to do with what God wants, universal truths, and what these
ethical terms mean within themselves.
Applied ethics usually looks at things that are widely give rise to public disagreement, these issues can

The reason that metaethics is important for determining moral judgements is because it is important
for everyone to be able to correctly tell you with logic Their metaethics position. Metaethics allows
you to dive deeper into what ethics is, it s important to go into the why something may be good or bad,

Why Do People Have Not Involvement With Wildlife
I believe that humans should have no involvement with wildlife. People affect the wildlife in bad
ways. Humans need to keep a closer eye on the animals if they decide to put them in a zoo. We need to
make sure that the animals that are there aren t getting bored or going crazy. People have died because
of this. Humans also shouldn t hunt animals for things that they have, such as an elephant s tusks.
Here are some reasons why we should have no involvement with wildlife.
We need to keep a closer eye on zoo animals. We take animals out of their natural habitat and put them
in smaller enclosements. Because they are used to being in big, open fields, they may get a little bored
or resort back to their natural instincts. Animals such as tigers

Water Fluoridation Research Paper
Water fluoridation came about in 1945 when Grand Rapids, Michigan came to be the first foremost
town in the world whose water was artificially fluoridated. The lead up of fluoridation of water started
in 1901, when dentist Dr. Frederick McKay discovered the natives of Colorado had brown stains
covering their teeth. In 1902, Dr. J.M. Eager also became aware of a similar condition in Naples. Over
the next few years, McKay came to learn of multiple cases suggesting that the water supply may be
accountable for the discolouration.
In 1931, a chemist by the name of H.V. Churchill, who was involved with the Aluminium Company of
America (ACOA), believed that there could be a connection between the mottling and the existence of
the element aluminium in the water. However the water was tested where the ALCOA extracted the
majority of the aluminium and found extremely high levels of fluoride were encountered, that being
13.7 ppm. Churchill advised McKay on the matter who immediately collected more water samples
from various towns where dental problems were an issue. From his recordings McKay found that the
high concentration of fluoride found in the water was in fact resulting in the discolouration of teeth.

getting a decent speaker at an affordable price. However, because these were private label models,
they were never advertised. You also cannot find product reviews for these speakers and Bose releases
no specs for their products generally, other than power rating. Thus, it is difficult to find any
information about this line.
However, they ve remained a solid, reliable part of many home theater systems. Typically people also
add center, surrounds, and subs to fill it out. These speakers were made in USA, something that is no
longer commonplace. This makes them not only a solid addition to your home audio setup, but also an
interesting bit of vintage Americana.

Abstract:
In order to cope up with the growing problem of traffic congestion several means and methods have
been implemented. For reducing this problem,an efficient method for traffic monitoring can be
implemented by providing the availability of the parking spaces in advance. Since there exist no such
system we intend to develop one using sensors and RFIDs.In proposed system, we consider car park
equipped with sensors(IR) which checks for the availability of parking slots and updates the
information periodically. This updated information is provided to the user via an android application.
Using this application user gets directed towards the parking slot by using the shortest path
algorithm(Dijikstra s). Also to avoid traffic congestion due to parking charges, car is associated with a
unique RFID tag for the wallet parking.

The Death Penalty Is A Form Of Cruel And Unusual Punishment
The death penalty till this day remains to be a very controversial topic. Some people may argue that it
should be considered a form of cruel and unusual punishment; others may rebuttal in saying that the
death penalty is capital punishment. When visiting the idea of placing someone to death one must bear
in mind the possibility of condemning an innocent person through such torture, the brutalizing effect
on society it may leave, and the serious psychological trauma that a defendants family and friends may
face. Is this really what the justice system is willing to place on the line in order to gain a form of so
called justice. I mean reasonably speaking what will anyone gain from such an action. It definitely
will not bring the harm to be undone. As stated in the encyclopedia under the theory of judicial torture
the use of torture was confined to capital crimes, for which the death penalty or mutilation could apply
(PIHLAJAM, 2004). Looking at how the death penalty is conducted people should not be treated like
animals, given a due time to be put down. No human being deserves such treatment whether or not his
or her offense was so horrific and traumatic. Is that not the lesson being taught to society when the
criminal is captured? Yet, the law as a jury of peers, men just like the accused, may cast the same sin
upon him. Why should this action be considered in any way to be fair or believed to be capital
punishment?
If we look back from 1927 until 2011 there have been

College Binge Drinking Epidemic
College Binge Drinking Epidemic Throughout the years, drinking alcohol in excessive amounts has
become somewhat synonymous with the college experience. It has become an expected occurrence for
college aged students to drink and party regularly, and overtime has transformed into an accepted
social norm of college life. Extreme drinking has been a consistent social problem that has
substantially grown on college campuses all around the United States for the past few decades. In fact,
binge drinking is consistently voted as the most serious problem on campuses by collegiate presidents
(College Binge Drinking Facts). Thus, most campuses have recognized binge drinking as a serious
problem, yet this epidemic continues on, and many seem to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

I believe excessive drinking has been defined as a social problem on the UMass Amherst campus
because programs and campaigns have been established to help reduce the amount of binge drinking
among students. For example, BASICS (Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students) is a
program for students found in violation of the UMass liquor code. The program includes two 50
minute counseling sessions with a drug and alcohol prevention specialist. About 1,000 students a year
go through the program, mostly students who have violated the campus alcohol rules, but students
may also attend on their own free will.
Furthermore, freshmen at UMass are required to take a 75 minute online course about alcohol
consumption (Drake). UMass also offers many other activities on campus to give extra opportunities
for students to participate in rather than illegal drinking. The lifecycle of binge drinking has been
established through the NIAA s definition of binge drinking which defines the problem. The public
has transformed it into a public issue with organizations such as SADD and Alcoholics Anonymous.
The lifecycle of the binge drinking problem continues with a debate over the cause of it, and finally
finishes with coming up with a solution to reduce the amount of binge drinking on campuses
(Lundquist Lecture January 25). UMass Amherst has a history of binge

songs, stories, films and television. Its didactic use is innumerable since it appears constantly in
educational articles. After the battle, the culture of Sparta has become an object of inspiration and
emulation throughout the world, creating several monuments in favor of the battle.
Battle of Salamis
The battle of Salamis was very important, it was a great victory for the Greeks who managed to finish

The battle of Chaeronea is considered one of the most decisive in the ancient world. The armies of
Athens and Thebes were annihilated and could not continue their resistance, so the war came to an

Naps In The Workplace
The young boys heavy eyelids flutter as he tries to finish his college application a few minutes until
the deadline. He had not had a nap that day and struggled through time trials at cross country practice.
A few hours later he glanced at the clock and he noticed that he was far past the deadline. Had he
taken a nap he would have finished his college application and would have the chance to attend his
dream college. Americans are afraid of naps because they are afraid that the world around us will
leave us behind and we don t have enough time. We just don t have time to nap is a point that
Bridgette Uhde elaborates on, As you age you don t need as many naps... And I just don t have time.
She tries to excuse her lack of naps for her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s the culture of the USA where people feel required to put in a number of hours or work more than
others, Aaron Uhde states during his interview. Although this may be true, America is trying to change
this through major corporations such as Nike and Google. They have nap rooms and encourage
meditation and relaxation. Another reason that it is a good idea for the workplace to be relaxed and not
too structured so that when the employees do work, they are focused and not messing around. Aaron
Uhde states that A lot of people waste time on electronics, so my observation is that someone is
working 60 hours a week, they are probably not as productive as they could be.
It has been proven by Holland, France lunched, and then slept. So did Spain. So did much of the
civilized world (Holland). Holland is trying to prove that civilized people should nap because it is
what everyone else does. It may be good to nap, but if the US has been doing so well without them, is
it really necessary? And what about the way adults sleep, does that affect the need for naps? Adults
have different sleep patterns and demands. Aaron mentions, opposing Holland s passage.
In conclusion, naps scare americans because they think that time will pass them by. Even a short nap
can improve your ability to focus and pay attention. Although naps can be very helpful, in America,
they go against the competitive spirit because naps are relaxation. Additionally, electronics take up

Activity Based Costing Essay
Numerous articles have been written about Activity Based costing (ABC) system since it was first
introduced back in mid 1980 s. It was generally characterized as the only costing system that could
accurately depict and represent product cost in a highly relative complex and complicated business
environment. Combined with Activity Based Management (ABM), ABC aligns the company s
strategic objectives with its product costing system as it distinguishes non value added activities and
determines areas where costs can be possibility reduced (Hughes Gjerde, 2003).
As aforementioned by Ness and Cucuzza in their article, activity based management helps
organizations to overpower and outperform other existing organizations. Making them the company ...

Critical analysis of the weaknesses of the model revealed that ABC system led to over precision in
processes in collecting the data, which resulted in comparably expensive maintenance. To save costs,
the figures were not always updated. As a consequence of this weakness, there is a build up of the lack
of trust to the system. Hence, managers established their decisions on marginal thinking and good
intuition that were scarcely fostered by data and information. In conclusion from the interviews, senior
managers are convinced that ABC system did not provide them sufficient support for strategic
decision making and instead resorted to implementing the global decision making methodology
(GDM); a simple practical method for organizational decision making (Geri Ronen, 2005).
In contrast to the fall of activity based costing system as stressed above, some may still find it as a
beneficial tool that accountants can use to promote better management reporting and decision making.
Nonetheless, one must understand the intrinsic underlying assumptions of ABC, from which it
assumes homogenous cost drivers drive the costs in each pool and the costs in each pool are strictly
proportional to the activity , and how contravening these assumptions might result to cost distortions
that may negatively affect management decisions (Latshaw Cortese Danile,

Danakil Depression s Mirror And Seeing Mars Stare Back
New York Times publisher, Amy Yee in her article Gazing Into Danakil Depression s Mirror, and
Seeing Mars Stare Back suggests that places on Earth have the same characteristics as that of other
planets and moons in our solar system. She supports this by stating that the region has extreme
climates not too different to Mars climates. Yee s purpose is to portrait that places with extreme
environments on Earth can help prepare us for the environments of other planets. She takes on a
scientific tone for people interested in the geography of other planets.
First of all, Amy supports that there are places on Earth that can compare to other planets by stating
that the climate of the Danakil Depression has extreme climates that are not very different

Comparing Plato s And Aristotle s Speculations
Whether the situation involves a child and a parent, or a ruler and a peasant, the stipulation of power is
in pivotal question. The act of governing another can go from as lenient as free range disregard to
complete dominance. These ranges for imposing control changes the outcome of the allowed
contribution in its citizens. Domination over another is never justified, despite Plato s and Aristotle s
speculations, because it does not allow the fulfillment of the individual on a personal and State level.
The pinnacle of an individual means they are able to be the most sound person mentally, physically,
and emotionally onto others, themselves and the State. When they have attended to their personal
needs, they can also effectively and accurately attend to others and issues bigger than themselves. The
individual s fulfillment for themselves cannot be reached under complete control, because they are not
the best person they can be when their wants and needs aren t addressed. Plato and Aristotle aim to
outline a citizen that helps the State to run at its finest, but set their basis under the wrong conditions.
To look at justice in the soul, Plato used the bigger idea of the State to compare it to an individual.
From his reasoning, there s a strong relationship between State and citizen and every person has a role
that contributes to the bigger piece of a whole. Plato, however, doesn t regard the individual s wants
and needs, only the wants and needs of the State. In his utopia,

Essay About Ferdinand Magellan While Ferdinand Magellan was still living he had once said, The sea is dangerous and its storms terrible, but these obstacles have never been sufficient reason to remain ashore...unlike the mediocre, intrepid spirits seek victory over those things that seem impossible...it is with an iron will that they embark on the most daring of all endeavors...to meet the shadowy future without fear and conquer the unknown. A what he means by this is, to achieve your goal you have to work hard in order to make it happen. On February 3, 1480, Ferdinand Magellan was born to mother, Alada de Mesquita, and father, Rodrigo de Magalhães, in Villa Real, Province of Traz os Montes in Portugal, Spain. For education, he was well tutored at home, then spent years at the Portuguese court. When he was just 10 years of age, he became an orphan after both of his parents passed away in 1490. He was educated at the Queens School of Pages, Libson, and was fortunate to get used to subjects such as, astronomy, cartography, and celestial navigation, which was useful for his life as an adult. Ferdinand was given the job of messenger in the queens court. He also learned about ships while working there. In 1505, Magellan joined the expedition of Francisco d Almeida to India. Raise The Driving Age To 18 Driving mishaps can happen to anyone, but they happen all too frequently to teenage drivers because of their lacking significant experience behind the wheel...in recent years, safety experts, elected officials, and public policy experts have focused on strengthening such state laws with the goal of making the roads safer for teens. (Andrews, 2) New laws should be made to keep teens and the road a safer place. The driving age should be raised to 18 to reduce many dangers. The first reason is so we can lower teen deaths. Just a few years ago 2,270 teens died from car accidents, and 221,313 were sent into the emergency room. Not only that but teens were accounted for 11% of the total cost for car accident injuries. • 7. Internet Service Providers Essay We think we can do whatever we want to on the Internet, but can we really? In this day and age, people log on and surf the web without a second thought, and often take the freedoms of the Internet for granted. One of the most valuable things about the Internet is that it s open and equal. Anyone can access or create new websites, and as of now, each website is treated the same. Unfortunately, this freedom is being threatened and the Internet as we know it could change for good. Net Neutrality is the idea that Internet providers should treat all websites and Internet services the same. This new policy would introduce hurt more then it would help. Institutions like public libraries, schools and other places that offer Wi Fi for use would have to pay tremendous costs. Schools, for example, are having a hard enough time obtaining the funding for materials like school supplies or for qualified teachers, and to add the cost of individual websites that students need access to is unfair and in some schools, impossible. This proposal would also allow ISP s to block certain websites all together. For example, Verizon could block Google completely, forcing their customers to pay for the Verizon search engine. Not only would it add extra costs to your internet bill, but it would also create a tiered internet. This means that not only would customers have to pay for certain websites, but those same costly sites would have to pay the ISPs as well. A tiered internet means that a few websites would get high speed priority and be favored over other sites. To be placed in these high speed tiers, the websites would have to pay huge amounts of money to the ISPs. Why should the Internet Service Providers have full, unrestricted access to control everything that goes on online? A tiered Internet would effect everyone, and not always in a good way. If you are an avid Netflix user, and are constantly watching shows, then the fact that their Internet service speed was lightning fast would be enjoyable. • 10. Character Analysis Of Mrs. Dalloway, By Virginia Woolf Written by Virginia Woolf, Mrs. Dalloway is a fictional novel that concentrates on the daily encounters of Clarissa Dalloway and her flashbacks. Woolf s stream of consciousness technique and third person narration gives the reader an insight into the doings and feelings of the various characters in the novel. Woolf s commentary focuses on the oppression that resulted from World War I. This is seen primarily in Septimus Warren Smith, who suffers from shell shock and serves as a double of Clarissa. On a Wednesday in June, Clarissa, who is currently 52 years old, introduces the readers to a plethora of streets in Westminster and also the up scale guests who will be attending her party that evening. Clarissa is known for her lavish parties, thrown for the purpose of allowing important people to chat, while maintaining her upper class image that was gained through her marriage with Mr. Dalloway. The plot of the novel is simple, yet readers know intricate details about the characters through their thoughts. In Mrs. Dalloway, Virginia Woolf uses Clarissa s isolation, her realization of life and death, and the relationships between the characters in a single day during the post World War I era to express the feelings and thoughts of Clarissa, who hears the striking of Big Ben and reflects upon her past. Mrs. Dalloway, although married to Richard Dalloway and living in an apartment with Sally Seton, displays signs of isolation and loneliness. Her parties are a way for her to ... (Skinner) Skipping school and class among students at Glebe Collegiate Institute has become a pressing issue. It not only affects the personal education of those who skip, but the other students and teachers around them. Burrhus Frederic Skinner knew that obtaining a healthy education can have a great impact on someone s future. By using and applying psychological theories and perspectives, such as B.F. Skinner s theories of operant conditioning and Milgram s theory of obedience, the number of students skipping class can be greatly decreased, and therefore promote a better, healthier learning environment. As mentioned above, skipping school is a real issue amongst students that does not go without consequence. However at Glebe the only real consequence for students that skip is a delay or set back in their education. Which in the long run could have a damaging effect on their overall high school career. It has been found that students who miss more than 10 days of school each year are 20% less likely to graduate and have a 25% less chance of ever enrolling in college or university. According to (Rolon Arroyo, Arnold, Hunt 2014), CD is characterized by behavior that violates the rights of others which affects 10% of the youth. Loan Proposal For Payday Loans What if you were down on your luck, and short a couple hundred dollars for an electricity bill, and the power company was threatening to turn off your power and none of your friends or family members could help you out? What if you went to your employer and asked for an advance on your pay, and they denied you? With the looming threat of losing power and the fees laid on top to get reconnected, it may be easy to lose hope. There is, however, an entire financial industry set up to help with such problems. A payday lender is probably nearby that will provide you a small, short term loan to help you get back on your feet. Payday loans come in many forms, but generally speaking, they are small ($375 on average), short term (one to two weeks), high interest (391% API average) loans. Advocates for payday loans argue that the loans are available for people who have emergencies like sudden medical expenses, and are available when alternate sources of money are unavailable, or when the alternatives may be more expensive. Opponents of payday loans point out the fact that a broad majority of payday loans are not used for unexpected expenses, but are rather used for recurring expenses. Opponents also argue that, while the loans are advertised as being short term, in reality, a significant fraction of customers use payday loans repeatedly, and get trapped in a cycle of debt that is exploitative. These people argue for state and sometimes federal regulations to curb the exploitative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A political cartoon from 1865 written in a Northern magazine shows how many people let (Document 2). Northerners believed they spent a large amount of money and had endured many causalities just to get the African Americans freed. The effects of reconstruction on blacks were similar to the ways that the immigrants were treated. Many of the immigrants were seen as unequal and treated unfairly just as the African Americans were. Children from ages 5 10 are known to get easily distracted. Elementary school students fall into this category. Reducing the class size for this age group is a solution to this matter. Providing smaller class sizes can allow students to participate in higher achievements and build a stronger bridge to success. Elementary schools should have smaller class sizes. One reason why elementary schools should have smaller class sizes is because students are able to receive more one on one time with their teacher. Students are allowed to enhance their learning by being able to concentrate fully and receive the proper engagement with their teacher. According to Garrett Delavan, 12 students per class is more beneficial. He proclaims that, Common sense and research suggest that there is an optimal grouping size range where peer and adult interaction mutually benefit one another (94). Is this really what the justice system is willing to place on the line in order to gain a form of so called justice. I mean reasonably speaking what will anyone gain from such an action. • 46. Naps In The Workplace The young boys heavy eyelids flutter as he tries to finish his college application a few minutes until the deadline. He had not had a nap that day and struggled through time trials at cross country practice. A few hours later he glanced at the clock and he noticed that he was far past the deadline. Had he taken a nap he would have finished his college application and would have the chance to attend his dream college. Americans are afraid of naps because they are afraid that the world around us will leave us behind and we don t have enough time. We just don t have time to nap is a point that Bridgette Uhde elaborates on, As you age you don t need as many naps... And I just don t have time. She tries to excuse her lack of naps for her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s the culture of the USA where people feel required to put in a number of hours or work more than others, Aaron Uhde states during his interview. Although this may be true, America is trying to change this through major corporations such as Nike and Google. They have nap rooms and encourage meditation and relaxation. Another reason that it is a good idea for the workplace to be relaxed and not too structured so that when the employees do work, they are focused and not messing around. Aaron Uhde states that A lot of people waste time on electronics, so my observation is that someone is working 60 hours a week, they are probably not as productive as they could be. It has been proven by Holland, France lunched, and then slept. So did Spain. So did much of the civilized world (Holland). Holland is trying to prove that civilized people should nap because it is what everyone else does. It may be good to nap, but if the US has been doing so well without them, is it really necessary? And what about the way adults sleep, does that affect the need for naps? Adults have different sleep patterns and demands. Aaron mentions, opposing Holland s passage. In conclusion, naps scare americans because they think that time will pass them by. Even a short nap can improve your ability to focus and pay attention. • 47. Activity Based Costing Essay Numerous articles have been written about Activity Based costing (ABC) system since it was first introduced back in mid 1980 s. It was generally characterized as the only costing system that could accurately depict and represent product cost in a highly relative complex and complicated business environment. Combined with Activity Based Management (ABM), ABC aligns the company s strategic objectives with its product costing system as it distinguishes non value added activities and determines areas where costs can be possibility reduced (Hughes Gjerde, 2003). As aforementioned by Ness and Cucuzza in their article, activity based management helps organizations to overpower and outperform other existing organizations. Making them the company ... Critical analysis of the weaknesses of the model revealed that ABC system led to over precision in processes in collecting the data, which resulted in comparably expensive maintenance. To save costs, the figures were not always updated. As a consequence of this weakness, there is a build up of the lack of trust to the system. Hence, managers established their decisions on marginal thinking and good intuition that were scarcely fostered by data and information. In conclusion from the interviews, senior managers are convinced that ABC system did not provide them sufficient support for strategic decision making and instead resorted to implementing the global decision making methodology (GDM); a simple practical method for organizational decision making (Geri Ronen, 2005). In contrast to the fall of activity based costing system as stressed above, some may still find it as a beneficial tool that accountants can use to promote better management reporting and decision making. Nonetheless, one must understand the intrinsic underlying assumptions of ABC, from which it assumes homogenous cost drivers drive the costs in each pool and the costs in each pool are strictly proportional to the activity , and how contravening these assumptions might result to cost distortions that may negatively affect management decisions (Latshaw Cortese Danile, ... • 49. Comparing Plato s And Aristotle s Speculations Whether the situation involves a child and a parent, or a ruler and a peasant, the stipulation of power is in pivotal question. The act of governing another can go from as lenient as free range disregard to complete dominance. These ranges for imposing control changes the outcome of the allowed contribution in its citizens. Domination over another is never justified, despite Plato s and Aristotle s speculations, because it does not allow the fulfillment of the individual on a personal and State level. The pinnacle of an individual means they are able to be the most sound person mentally, physically, and emotionally onto others, themselves and the State. When they have attended to their personal needs, they can also effectively and accurately attend to others and issues bigger than themselves. The individual s fulfillment for themselves cannot be reached under complete control, because they are not the best person they can be when their wants and needs aren t addressed. Plato and Aristotle aim to outline a citizen that helps the State to run at its finest, but set their basis under the wrong conditions. To look at justice in the soul, Plato used the bigger idea of the State to compare it to an individual. From his reasoning, there s a strong relationship between State and citizen and every person has a role that contributes to the bigger piece of a whole. Plato, however, doesn t regard the individual s wants and needs, only the wants and needs of the State. In his utopia, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
