2. Time Inc. is an American New York-based publishing company. It publishes over 90 magazines and also owns the UK
magazine house Time Inc. UK, which publishes Indie Music Magazine, NME. In 1990, Time Inc. merged with Warner
Communications to form the media conglomerate Time Warner. This merger lasted until the company was spun off on June
9, 2014.I believe Time Inc would be the perfect company to publish my music magazine, due to my magazine being of the
same music genre as NME, but with a female audience instead which would be something to be published alongside NME,
with a wide male audience. Most music magazines have a mostly male audience so for a music magazine to feature strong
female music artists trying to make it into the music industry, it a new and fresh product that could have a popular niche
market.Female fans of NME looking for a specific magazine for women between 16 and 25 years old could be the basis of a
new readership for ‘EMERGE’. The huge name of Time Warner and Warner could attract a teenage audience who watch
programmes by Warner, and be recognising the name of the company, would want to try out their new magazine for a
teenage audience.
3. SpinMedia (formerly Buzz Media) is an American digital publisher which owns a number of pop culture websites, including
Buzznet. Buzznet is BuzzNet is a social media network. Like other social networking sites, Buzznet is a platform for
members to share content based on their personal interests. The biggest users of social media networks are teenagers who
could use the social media network and hear about the magazine through the name of SpinMedia. SpinMedia also has
owned Vibe Magazine since April 2013, a magazine originally published by Time Inc. Vibe magazine, a magazine that
features hip hop and RnB artists. It might be possible SpinMedia could look at the success of buying out Vibe Magazine and
want to publish another magazine with a different genre to attract a different niche audience. Through Vibe and Buzznet, it
has shown that they are able to successfully attract a wide teenage audience so could have teenagers who use their social
network to buy EMERGE.
