media product and why?

2. What is a Media Institution?
A company that owns large numbers of companies in
various mass media such as television, radio, publishing,
movies, and the Internet.

Distributors
 IPC Media
 Bauer Media
 BBC Media

4. IPC Media Institution
The IPC is the UK’s leading magazine and digital
publisher, they were formed in 1963. They have more
than 60 iconic media brands. 42% of their main target
audience is based around males and the rest are females
because when the magazines were first published in
1968, the main stories were based around shooting,
sports and trains. IPC is owned by time warner, a print
corporation company in America and distribute their
magazines to a much wider population.

5. Bauer Media Institution
 Bauer Media Group is a European-based media
company, headquartered in Hamburg, Germany that
manages a portfolio of more than 600 magazines, over
400 digital products and 50 radio and TV stations
around the world.
 They work worldwide across 15 different countries and
was first foundered in 1875.
 They cater for a wide target audience including males,
females and teenagers.

6. BBC Media
 The BBC is a big and widely used industry across
Britain. The business produces a wide variety of
different media including music magazines.
 They publish a wide range of magazines in order to
target a much wider audience over the country.
 The music magazine that the business produces is Top
of the Pops and this magazine is mainly targeted at
audiences from the age of 8.

7. Which Magazine Institution would be
most suitable for my Magazine?
I would like IPC media to be the institution who publishes my music magazine
because of the fact I believe my magazine will stand out from the rest of the
magazines they published as the majority of the other magazines target a
male audience whereas my magazine is more suited to the female audience.
I also believe that IPC would be most suitable for my magazine as I would
like it to go wide spread rather than just staying as a small scale magazine. I
believe this institution would allow this to happen because the IPC is the UK’s
leading magazine and digital publisher.
Being the UK’s leading publisher would mean that the institution would also
have a large scale budget which will mean they have a lot of money that they
can use to promote the magazine to the public.
