2. Image Comparisons
To make my product appeal to the correct target audience, my front
cover model would have to represent an idealized version of the
reader, this would include the visual effects for example, the fashion
that is worn, the way that they are positioned and the way they look at
the camera. Also they must appear mainstream and non-threatening. I
will be using these images as examples.
Artist Representation
3. I believe that the characters in my images have
a really big effect on the readers. For example
how they look at the camera can make the
readers feel as if they have a person connection
with the model. I chose the image on the left as
I feel the audience will respond to it more,
However the second image have the models
looking away from the camera and that they are
fooling around, as if the camera isn’t there. This
can make the reader feel isolated and not involve,
however it can give off a friendly vibe toward the
audience, this image is more of an article image
and not a front cover.
The positioning of the models are also very
important. For example, the first image there is
one model to the front and one slightly behind,
as if shadowing the front model. Also the reader
can see the full view of both models.
However the second images has both models
standing next to each other, this doesn’t give
mush room on the front cover for promotions
and articles. Also the fashion doesn’t represent
the genre of the magazine as well.
