Photo Shoot
Plan
What emotional impact do you
want your photography do have
upon the reader? How?
I want to attract the reader and make
them feel as though my magazine is
interesting and worth reading. I want
the photography to grab the reader and
be noticeable. However, I want the
photography to allow the textual
information featured to be easily seen
and easily noticed.
What personnel do you need?
Who are you going to
photograph?
For my photographs, I am using two
models – a female and a male. Doing
this will allow for my magazine to reach
both a male and female audience. I
also think the photographs will look
better as they can pose in more ways
than being a singular model.
What props will you need?
I will not be using any props for my
photographs as I think that the photos
will look better and be more focused on
the models rather than the equipment.
How are you going to
emphasise colour?
To emphasise colour, I plan to make
parts of the photograph in monochrome
so the colour stands out.
Have you briefed your
personnel/models?
I have briefed my models; they are
aware of how the images will be taken
and know the reasons as to why I am
taking the photographs.
What lighting will you
need? Any other
equipment?
I am using natural lighting for the
photographs. If this does not go to plan
I will use the flash on the camera to
make the photograph clearer.
Where will you shoot? Will
you need a backdrop?
I plan to take my photos in a park
therefore I will not need a backdrop as
the photos will be taken with the
scenery behind. However for the front I
plan to have a plain background, which
will be created in Photoshop during the
editing process of the images.
Make-up? Costume?
For the makeup I plan to use dark
colours but bright lipstick to make the
model stand out. For the costume, the
female model will be wearing dark
coloured clothing with maroon doc
martins and an expander in her ear.
The male will wear similar clothing so
match the genre I have chosen.
