In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge
forms and conventions of real media products?

2. Comparisons
I believe that these magazine covers and contents pages are
very similar toward my product, as the colours, music artists
on the cover and the position of the music artists are very
similar compared to my front cover. Also they have the same
genre of magazine

3. The colours that are used don’t represent what gender
is specified for the magazine. For example, the
RollingStone cover has a very limited set of colours,
which are bland and dull, as if its not trying to capture
the readers attention. However for the NME front
cover the colours are bright and very eye catching, this
could imply the target audience is teenagers or young
adults.
The artists on these front covers
are very involved with Pop/Rock
music. This makes these front
covers very similar toward my
product.
The position that Lilly Allen relates more to the NME
readers, for example she has an attitude facial
expression, that can be related toward the readers of
NME as they are young readers. Whereas on the
RolingStones cover has Britney just casually laugh,
this can suggest that the readers are more
sophisticated and are of an older age compared to
the NME cover.

4. The colour are very similar to one another, using black,
white and red, these are very plain and simple, these are
very different toward my product as I have used brighter
colours to stay with the colour scheme from the front
cover. The text has a normal font to it, which gives the
reader a familiarity toward the audience, I have also done
this on my product .

to try to be sophisticated, the
images, text and advertisements
seem to align with each other

dominated, this is the same magazines. My product has a
