Introduction
Professional Flooring Supply (PFS) is a wholesale distributor of flooring installation supplies and
sundries. PFS currently has 15 branches located in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Colorado,
Utah and Idaho. Each of these locations serves as a distribution point for resale customers as well as a
retail store front for flooring installers. PFS was founded in 1977 with a location in Houston and in
Fort Worth Texas. The company remained fairly small until 2005 when they began expanding rapidly.
PFS in the past has always used a hub and spoke model when it come to distribution of inventory. The
majority of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, another major area of concern is when the inventory counts in the system do not match what is
physically on hand in the warehouse. This can occur for a number of different reasons. The main cause
however is poor cycle counting. PFS has implemented the use of cycle counts to insure that inventory
counts are done regularly to make sure everything matches and is correct. These counts are being done
in the middle of the day when the warehouse workers are trying to pull inventory for deliveries,
receiving in inventory, and picking inventory for customers who are there. As previously mentioned a
lot of times these items are not located properly so this worker is rushing through the list trying to
count the goods while performing all the other tasks and often times misses items that may be in stock,
just improperly located. That worker will then have to write off that inventory causing the purchasing
department to reorder the needed quantities to satisfy customer orders.
Literature Review
The main focus of the solutions needed for PFS revolve around the management of the supply chain
and how that can be made into a more automated process that will lower the amount of possible
manual errors. Talib, Rahman, and Qureshi discuss the similarities of Total Quality Management
(TQM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) and how they each are used in business processes.
They state The extant review of literature revealed that

Analyzing Countries Through Data Accumulations
Analyzing countries through data accumulations is a popular way to make informed decisions on the
behalf of the inhabitants and to understand the demographic situations of those areas. Population
Pyramids are one of the several types of methods utilized to observe conditions in a clear, efficient
fashion. These graphs provide accurate information for the purpose of predicting future issues, making
reasonable choices, and can express implications to birth rates, death rates, and other important ideas
concerning the demographics.

Commonly found in developed countries, nations usually have long life expectancies, stable
governments, and quality health support. One example of this is the United States of America (shown
right).
Next, there is Declining Growth, in which a country s pyramid is shaped much like a diamond. The
middle section bulges the most in terms of population, and youth as well as elderly are in lower
numbers. Nations with negative growth population most likely have birth rates that are too low.
Nevertheless, these countries are often developed and posses long life expectancy, balanced, secure
government systems, and quality health care. Japan is a clear example of being in this state (shown
left).
Finally, Rapid Growth is the third and most typical form of a population graph. Iraq expresses this
structure and stage of demographic transition, in which a large base become less wide as you increase
the age range. Normally, Rapid Growth populations point to poor conditions, poor health care, and
low life expectancy. It also is linked with developing, or underdeveloped nations.
For this reason, from Iraq s population pyramid I would instantly assume that Iraq is currently
undergoing stages of a developing country or not yet forming country. This is because the high birth
rate and low life expectancy are probably outcomes of the country s underdevelopment as they are not

step in establishing a robust advertising process. We will take for our example dental advertising in an
effort to spotlight the significance of a target audience.
When a dental company seeks to establish clientele firstly, they will have just a few chances to make
an individual consumer, and only one danger to make a first influence. Realizing this makes it
essential for dental companies to make an notably spectacular first impact. A method for dental
organizations to achieve this is by means of direct mail advertising and marketing.

The Gravitational Slingshot Essay
The Gravitational Slingshot
The gravitational slingshot is a way that scientists have truly harnessed the gravitational pull of a
planet by using it to launch satellites and other useful projectiles towards their desired locations. This
method was developed through the use of Newton s Laws of Gravity and Kepler s Laws of Planetary
Motion. When these ideas of gravity and the shape of a planet s orbit were brought together piece by
piece, this new theory changed how a projectile traveling through space could simply cross an orbital
pattern, which would in turn change the path of the moving object. The change in the path accelerates
the object at a higher rate and sends it speeding off in its proper direction. The gravitational ... Show

Kepler established the Laws of Planetary Motion. The first Law states that the orbit of every planet is
an ellipse with the Sun at one of the two foci. The second law states that a line joining a planet and the
Sun sweeps out equal areas during equal intervals of time. And the final Law tells that the square of
the orbital period of a planet is directly proportional to the cube of the semi major axis of its orbit.
Kepler s Laws also come into play with the use of the gravitational slingshot, because Kepler believed
that the orbit that a planet takes around another body follows an elliptical pattern, instead of traveling
in a perfect circle. Of course each planet has a specific elliptical orbit, just as humans have different
fingerprints to identify them. Before launching their equipment into space, each planet must have its
pattern identified to ensure accurate results for the launch. This knowledge helps scientists identify
where the ellipses are in relation to the paths of orbit so that they can launch satellites in the proper
direct, at the proper time, with the proper velocity. Combining both of these sets of theories together
has lead the way to the effect we know as the gravitational slingshot effect.
Today, the gravity assist effect is used extremely often by NASA and the Air Force. It is the most fuel
efficient, naturally occurring booster in

Osmosis in Potatoes
AT1 Osmosis In Potatoes
Aim: Investigate the movement of osmosis through a selectively permeable membrane, in this case
potato.
Introduction: Osmosis is the movement of water through a semi permeable membrane, separating
solutions of different concentrations. The water passes from a region of high concentration to a region
of low concentration, until the two concentrations are equal in concentrations of water.
Many cell membranes behave as semi permeable membranes, and osmosis is a vital mechanism in the
transport of fluids in living organisms, for example, in the transport of water from the soil to the roots
in plants.
If a cell is in contact with a solution of lower water concentration than its own contents, ... Show more

Method After having done our preliminary work, we knew exactly which measurements we needed to

For organisation s sake, we set up all of the test tubes at once, and labelled them individually to avoid

potato chips, each weighing around 1 gram, and measuring 33mm by 5mm. In order to make it as

After 30 minutes, we emptied each test tube, leaving only the potato chips inside. Before we measured
and weighed each chip, we dabbed them with paper towel. If we had of left excess water on the chips,
the weights would not be accurate. We then measured the chips in mms because they are a more

Introduction
This assignment is the analysis of comparison of Common Law System and the existing Pakistani
laws. It will help to understand the similarities or differences in the Common Law System and the
existing Pakistani laws. It will help to understand the basis on which the Pakistani laws were made. It

introduced many changes in Pakistan s criminal justice system. Through a series of presidential
decrees, the criminal justice system was started to regulate by the Pakistan Penal Code of 1860 and the
Code of Criminal Procedure (1898). A comparable court system was established by him. These courts
contained Sharia courts, and amended the laws that were deprived of the Islamic laws. The most of the

Theory of Acute Pain Management Essay
Theory of Acute Pain Management
Marion Good, PhD, RN, has focused her study, A Middle Range Theory of Acute pain Management:
Use in Research, on complementary medicine for pain and stress, acute pain, and stress immunity. The
purpose of this theory is to put into practice guidelines for pain management. Good, 1998, noted the
need for a balance between medication usage and side effects of pain medications. The theory also
promoted patient education related to pain management following surgery and encouraged plan
development for acceptable levels of pain management. This theory was developed through deductive
reasoning. Chinn Kramer, 2008, defined deductive reasoning as going from a general concept to a
more specific concept. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Non pharmacological adjuvants are non medicinal elements which could include music, relaxation,
breathing techniques, imagery, distraction, and massage (Sylvia, Carol, LeeAnn MSN, 2011).
Assessments of pain and side effects refer to the examination of a patient at regular intervals of time.
Intervention and reassessment is based on changes related to previous pain and side effect
assessments. Patient education is training individuals on how to manage or prevent pain with
medication and activity. Goal setting is designed to aid in maintaining and reducing pain by allowing
the patient, nurse, and doctor to work together in order to form a plan of pain management. All
concepts work together to promote a balance between analgesia and side effects.
The major concepts of this theory are defined theoretically since the use of these definitions is from a
broader theoretic concept. Therefore, an operational concept could be developed from them. There is
consistency in the use of these concepts throughout the theory of acute pain management with
examples given using the same language as well as maintaining the integrity of the concepts.
Description of Theory
Multimodal intervention along with attentive care and patient participation is necessary to achieve a
balance between analgesia and side effects. Assumptions to the conceptual framework must be
identified to understand the specific relevance of the theory to pain

Virginia Woolf Excerpt
Virginia Woolf, in the excerpt from her memoirs, reflects upon her childhood summers, expressing the
significance of the perfect lesson that impacted her life. Woolf captivates her reader by painting a
vivid picture of a summer day spent on the luggar with her father before utilizing a metaphor to reveal
how the experience had a profound impact on her. She does this in order to reveal how this memory
left a lasting impression on her subsequent path through life. Woolf addresses to all who have an
interest in her persona as a writer in a nostalgic and passionate tone. Woolf commences the excerpt by
recounting her experience on a luggar with her brother and father. She recalls her father being proud
of Thoby for safely steering the luggar around the corner because he had usual trust and pride in him.
Woolf illustrates the amount of trust her father had in Thoby, indicating that he lacked trust in her. She
then utilizes colorful imagery to describe the sea which was filled with pale jellyfish that had

fond of the moment until her father opinionated that he [doesn t] like to see fish caught. Instead of
reasoning with her father, she realizes that it was simply a statement of his own feeling and ultimately
it was her decision if to continue fishing. She claims her passion for fishing slowly extinguished from
the words of her father. Woolf s ability to possess a memory that was gained from that significant

The Game Of Baseball Was Invented By Abner Doubleday Essay
The game of baseball was invented by Abner Doubleday, in 1839 177 years ago from today. Baseball
has been, and is still today, known as America s favorite pastime; additionally, due to its extensive
history and partaking it monumental events, it can as well serve as a great topic to use in a story or
poem. Poet Dale Ritterbusch, uses the game of baseball along with metaphors in his poem as a vehicle
to write about a more substantial subject in poetry, the Vietnam War. His poem, Behind the Plate , can
be simply over looked to one as just a poem about an overweight catcher; nonetheless, when closely
examined, it has a deeper meaning. Authors Michael Cocchiarale and Scott Emmert, both agree with
the statement that baseball is a great outlet for further analysis of a more important subject: Writers
have seen sports, particularly baseball, as a useful vehicle for cultural and epistemological analysis
(Cocchiarale). The poem, Behind the Plate , starts off with the line: Always the dumbest and fattest kid
played catcher (Ritterbusch, Behind ); however, Dale Ritterbusch chose to start this poem with that
statement for a reason it sets a tone for the rest of the poem to have a certain meaning. The fat catcher
is known to specifically represent America in the Vietnam War; the catcher is fat because, well, in
history catchers in baseball are often overweight. Additionally, in general one who is fat in sports
often has a disadvantage, even in the case of being a catcher, and

Tyranny And The Nature Of Rape In Verginia, Lucretia
The tyrannical connection between all the above rape stories relates to the nature of rape. Tyranny, like
rape, is an improper expression of dominance. Aggression is turned inward upon its own society; in
Verginia s story, for example, asks what was the use of safeguarding a city in which one s children
must suffer the horrors they would face had the enemy captured it? (Livy, 3.47). Here, rape is the
perfect symbol of tyranny and the disorder it causes. Following the restoration of order, this
aggression is turned outward, to a proper expression of dominance: conquest. Joshel writes Assured at
home that their wives and children will not be treated as the conquered, these men can go forth [and]
conquer and empire. In Lucretia s story, Brutus further focusses on a tyrant s theft of the Roman man s
dominance by stating the men of Rome, victorious over all their neighbours, had been turned into
drudges and quarry slaves (Livy 1.59). The rape inspires men to regain their dominance. Similarly, the
Sabines rape resolves the insult to Rome, which is ultimately victorious over the Sabines sexually and
politically, restoring their rightful political dominance. Thus, rape acts as a metaphor for Roman
dominance, which during times of chaos is misplaced, but is returned to a proper expression of
dominance when order is restored. Essentially, each rape story uses rape to represent a turning point
between chaos and order, because rape, by its very nature, is a liminal action. Rape

The Soldier Of The Army
The skills required to be an officer in the US army have changed dramatically over the course of the
army s lifetime. The training, or lack of training, shaped the officers into what the army decided it
needed at the time, while also shaping the officer s own combat experiences as they were shipped to
their respective wars. These things created an atmosphere of leadership that were radically different
from each iteration of the US army, producing different kinds of officers for each. The first thing that
set apart each of these officers was the training they had as officers and soldiers before being shipped
off into combat. The stories of each of the officers shows a progression of the idea of the professional
soldier overtaking the idea of the citizen warrior that dominated the culture of the army during the
earlier years of American history. This culture of the citizen warrior is easily seen during the Civil War
and the training Rhodes recieved both as a soldier and an officer. The army seemed wholly
unprofessional at the time as it seemed to rely on the grunts as much as the officers for direction.
During Rhode s first few days in the army he was elected First Sergeant by the company he was
serving with at the time. He was clearly chosen simply because the men around him liked him and
certainly not due to any experience he had in the field. Just what a First Sergeant s duty might be I had

One application of magnetic fields in household appliances.
One thing that uses magnetic fields is the electric motor, which is used in many household appliances,
such as electric fans, microwave ovens, and other small appliances. In this instance the electric motor
has an electric current, giving it also this magnetic field. An electric motor converts electricity into
mechanical motion. Most electric motors work by electromagnetism, but motors based on electrostatic
forces also exist. The overarching concept is that a force is generated when a current carrying element
is subjected to a magnetic field. In a cylindrical motor, the rotor rotates because a torque is developed

The fundamental principle upon which electromagnetic motors are based is that there is a mechanical

Resolving the Social Problem of Crime
Resolving a Social Problem: As mentioned in the first assignment, one of the main social problems in
the modern society is crime, which is basically defined as an offense against public law. Since it is a
major social problem, crime has significant effects on victims, the society, and social institutions.
Crime is a multi faceted social problem because it involves personal responsibility as well as social,
cultural, and political aspects that contribute to it. It is also a social problem that should be understood
from a social context because it does not occur in a social vacuum. Due to the social nature of crime
and its impact on the society, there are several organizations that seek to address this social problem.
These organizations range from governmental agencies to community based organizations with
different ways for addressing the problem. Some examples of organizations committed to this social

There was considerable labour unrest and strikes were common. There were also occasional bomb
attacks. On the 21st march, in Langa, Cape town. a mass march to langa police station was organised.
The plan was to surrender themselves guilty of not carrying their passes, and as there were so many of
them the police could not arrest them all. At this time an identical plan was created in sharpville and
turned into what would be known as the sharpville massacre. Due to the event in sharpville the march

1646 1649 , Assess the validity of this statement.
In January 1649, King Charles I was executed after being charged with high treason due to political
and religious reasons, some of which contributed to his refusal in accepting the peace settlements
given to him by Parliament. Charles refusal to compromise was supported by the division that had
emerged within Parliament on how to fight the civil war between the Political Presbyterians and
Political Independents. The main factors of the failure to reach a settlement were religion, politics,
Charles intransigence, the New Model Army and the emergence of radical ideas; all of which ... Show

Still Ireton spoke for the grandees which did include Cromwell and insisted that the franchise should
be restricted to those with a permanent fixed interest in the kingdom as Seel 2 says, and that the vote
should go to those who possessed property or there would otherwise be a disturbance to a good
constitution of the kingdom . This was seen as important because the views of the religious radicals
made settlements more difficult and furthermore increased the tension of division among those in the
army and in parliament.
The politicisation of the New Model Army also played a significant role in the failure to reach a
settlement in the years 1646 to 1649 between Charles and Parliament. What made the army politicised
was the concerns of their wages of £3 million in arrears and the possibility of being faced with the
charges of committing offences from the First Civil War, as Parliament had not passed an indemnity
act. The army presented Charles with the Heads of The Proposals in 1647, which links back to
religious division in parliament, , under Cromwell and Ireton s influence, putting forward more stricter
terms such as religious toleration was to be more effective to a wider degree and that the army was to
be controlled by parliament for only ten years instead of twenty, making the army seem like a

Social Penetration Essay
Social Penetration Theory The Social Penetration Theory is an explanation by two communication
theorists, Irwin Altman and Dalmas Taylor. This theory attempts to explain how relational closeness
develops. Since we all have hundreds of different relationships, with thousands of different people
during our lifetime, it is an important theory to study and understand. The Social Penetration Theory
can be compared to an onion. The comparison stems from the idea that an onion has many layers, just
like a human s personality. There is an outside layer that is visible to everyone, but underneath that
there are several layers that get deeper and deeper. All of us have met people for the first time, and
have formed our first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first stage of the Social Penetration Process is the orientation stage which occurs at a public level,
revealing small parts about ourselves. Rose and Jack enter this stage when Jack sees Rose standing at
the edge of the boat. He approached her for the first time and talked her out of committing suicide.
The only interaction they have at this stage is an introduction. The next day, Rose finds Jack and
thanks him for helping her. While talking they seem to disclose more and more information about each
other. They now enter the exploratory stage. They now expand to public areas about themselves about
their hobbies and personal situations. Jack and Rose were quite comfortable with each other and
entered the third stage of the process; the affective exchange stage. Social penetration in this stage is
spontaneous and comfortable. They begin to show reciprocity, which is when one person s openness
leads to the others openness. Jack does this by asking if she loves her fiancé, a very personal question.
It seems as if the more they disclose about each other, the more they like each other, and the more they
seem to have in common. This leads Jack and Rose into the stable exchange stage which pertains to
complete openness and spontaneous. At this point in the movie it is evident that both Jack and Rose
have feelings for each other. At this layer in the relationship, we can look at the cost and rewards of
the situation. The cost of Rose

Henry Jekyll is a fake person. Meaning he acts different in different places. There are two sides to
him. One in public and one in private. Publically he is a good guy and friend, and a doctor. Privatly he

Mr.Hyde so that they both can experiment on jekyll and try to get rid of both his sides so that he only

Democracy, Demagoguery, And Critical Rhetoric

Demagoguery
Throughout history, when it comes to a national crisis, many leaders and politicians tend to advance
towards what the people want to hear. In order to gain their audience s support, most political leaders
and public speakers use the practice of demagoguery to have useful influence held towards their
argument. In Patricia Roberts Miller s article Democracy, Demagoguery, and Critical Rhetoric,
analyzes what demagoguery is and how it affects the audience. Speakers or authoritative figures that
engage with demagoguery use strategies such as scapegoating and polarization in order to establish a
separation between in groups and out groups; in groups tend to form hateful discrimination on out
groups and define them with negative features. An example of demagoguery that Roberts Miller uses
is in Adolf Hitler s speech about how he wanted German people to change their views and beliefs on
the Jewish. Her article however, also consists of several fallacies and may seem somewhat unethical.
Throughout Wayne LaPierre s speech on the Newtown Tragedy in 2012, there is usage of what
Roberts Miller claims to be demagoguery. Wayne LaPierre is the Vice President of the National Rifle
Association (NRA). After the shooting that occurred at Sandy Hook elementary, LaPierre expresses
his sympathy for the families of the loss and he then gathers the attention of parents who may be
uneasy about their children s safety at school. Throughout

Essay on Ernest Hemingway s For Whom the Bell Tolls
In Hemingway s For Whom the Bell Tolls, the recurring images of the horse and the airplane illustrate
one of the major themes of the novel. The novel s predominant theme is the disintegration of the
chivalric order of the Old Spanish World, as it is being replaced by the newer technology and ideology
of the modern world. As a consummate artist, Hemingway, in a manner illustrating the gothic quality
of his work, allows the bigger themes of For Whom the Bell Tolls to be echoed in the smaller units.
He employs the tropes of the horse and the airplane to convey these larger themes, while at the same
time using them to comment upon the complex relationship that exists between the Spaniards Fascists
and Communists, alike and religion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They have abandoned religion, as they have become disillusioned by it, and, therefore, have no
mechanism for atonement. Stemming from their close attachment to the chivalric ideal of equality in
battles, the Spanish have absolutely no conception of modern warfare, until the planes begin invading
their land. They view war as a match of equals, wherein a lone soldier can look his enemy in the eye
as they battle, but, instead, they are forced to come to grips with the horrors of modern warfare.
The planes are representative of the modern mechanical accomplishments that have emerged, which
can replace the chivalric, soldier of the Old World. With the emergence of such technologies, and the
influx of new ideologies, not only has the religion, once integral to chivalry, become obsolete, but the
people, too, have become dispensable. Gone forever is the almost sacred element of one on one
battles; the planes have eradicated these chivalric ideals, by replacing them with a brand of never
before seen mass destruction. In effect, the new ideologies have become the new religion; they have
replaced the Church, just as the new mechanisms, such as planes, and mass warfare have replaced the
chivalric ideals of the medieval world.
The meaning of the horse and airplane images can be illuminated through an exploration of Chapter
27, which conveys, without a doubt, their significance. One of the very first

The Ride Home From Church
The ride home from church wasn t much different from any other day. My mom was lecturing me
about sports. This time it was about soccer. We would be starting games this week and my mom was
worried, just like she usually is.
Are you sure you want to keep doing this? She annoyingly asked me. I had gotten used to this because
of the countless times before that she asked it
There are so many other things you could do with yourself. You are in band, clubs, and have some
amazing grades. You don t have to do this.
Please stop. I said to her, like I normally would.
I wish you could just do something safer, Gab. Especially after last year.
At this point I ve heard all of it before and I had enough of it. I looked out the window, ignoring every
word she said after that. Finally she decided it would be best if she left me alone. She must have
finally come to her senses and realized that I wasn t going to change my mind.
My eyes start to water slightly, You taught me never give up and I never will. We can t believing that
something bad is going to happen. We have to have faith that everything will okay now. Anyway, you
know how much I ve worked this. I m finally where I want to be and I can t let go now. I already lost
cheer.
My mom nods, choking on the words she wishes to say. She doesn t say another word the rest of the
ride home.

Yes, and our first game is Thursday. I answer.

Forensic Entomology Procedures
Summarizing a Forensic Journal article: Forensic Entomology Procedures
The field of Forensic Entomology is essentially a type of scientific study of utilizing insects and
arthropods for a criminal investigation. These small creatures are very useful to forensic professionals,
because they are naturally attracted to decomposing bodies. The bugs might even lay eggs in the
corpse. By examining the insects and their maturing larval stages, modern forensic experts can assess
the postmortem indications, and detect any changes in the dead body, leading to evidence of the likely
cause of death. Forensic entomologists are very often called upon to assist cops in crime scene
investigations. Because of this, police and investigators should be mindful of the many potential
benefits that this field of forensic entomology has to offer them. It can be used as an accessory to
standard methods of forensic crime scene investigation.

How To Put My Incapacitated Dog
On Wednesday, June 18, 2003, I had finalized the decision to put my incapacitated dog to rest. It
became a reality. I clearly remember the warm, breezy day that occurred two weeks ago. As I sat in
the freshly cutgrass of my front yard, I paid no attention to the sounds of the birds that were singing or
the leaves that were dancing on the trees. All that was on my mind was the details of the last 13 years
and remembering the times we shared together. As I kept trying to convince myself that he would not
have to suffer another day from his ailments, I kept thinking of the first day that he came into my life.
I was 15 years old when I got Valen. It was Valentine s Day in 1990. Earlier that week my mother was
near Port Jervis, New York on a business trip. She had some free time before she had to come home to
Pennsylvania so she decided to stop at the local SPCA. Her intentions were to simply look at the
animals and then leave. She made her way to the area that housed the dogs. There she found a shy, but
friendly, golden retriever. He was a bit apprehensive at first, almost as if he was neglected and abused,
but it didn t take much of my mom s gentle touch and her soft, subtle voice before this dog realized
she was his savior. She decided that she would like to adopt this dog however, the policy was strict,
and there was a seven day waiting period before you could adopt an animal. This was in place to allow
ample time for the owner to claim their animals if they got astray. As much as my mom wanted to
leave that day with the dog, she had to wait. It was on Tuesday, February 13, 1990 that my mom
received a call from the SPCA. They were pleased to have the opportunity to offer her the dog through
adoption since no one had come forward to claim him. She decided that she would go back to New
York the next day to pick him up. On Valentine s Day, I got home from school and to my surprise I
was greeted at the door by this vivacious, brown eyed golden retriever. I was so excited and I
immediately sat down on the cold, ceramic floor and played with my new friend. We rolled all over
the floor and I was giggling as he licked my face, and at the same time, he was whimpering with
happiness. We did this for about an hour until I

Self Management In Nursing
Every year approximately 795,000 people in United States are diagnosed with stroke. Stroke is one of
the leading causes of severe long term disability in the US (American Stroke Association [ASA],

(Mozaffarian et al., 2015). Integration of self management by healthcare systems into the discharge

Solution Focused Brief Therapy And Its Goals
This paper defines the Solution Focused Brief Therapy and its goals, strategies and techniques. This
approach focuses on individuals devising solution for problems rather than solving problems. Solution
building is a collaborative effort between therapy and client. SFBT concentrates on the clients
strengths and resources and belief that the therapist is not the expert but rather client is the expert.
SFBT was developed by Steve De Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg and their team at the Brief family
Therapy Center in Milwaukee doing the 1970 s. This approach is directed for immediate relief from a
problem using a range of techniques such as; the miracle questions, pretherapy change, exception
questions, summary feedback and scaling questions. The desire of this approach is for the therapist
and client to form a partnership in order to create personal meaningful goal that will guide the therapy
process in a short period of time. Attention is mainly given to affirm what the client is doing and what
the client and working that will lead to a better future. The central concept of SFBT is a movement
from talking about problems to talking about and creating solution. Therapy is kept simple and brief.

Music And Music Therapy
Music is present in our everyday lives, in many different forms, yet we are oblivious to its therapeutic
values. Individuals with mental illnesses have hardships that they face daily. Patients will mental
illnesses may use music therapy to improve the extremity of their mood swings and ultimately, their
way of life. What is music therapy? Music therapy is the skillful use of music and musical elements by
an accredited music therapist to promote, maintain, and restore mental, physical, emotional, and
spiritual health (Ulbricht, Psychology Today). Since the beginning of time, music therapy has been
documented in multiple ways. In the Old Testament of the Bible, David was found comforting Saul
with his harp. Also, Plato and Aristotle both wrote of the virtues of music to calm and soothe, as well
as for stimulation and motivation. On the contrary, music therapy wasn t a professional discipline in
the United States until the 1940s. In the 21st century, it has broadened even further and is used in
diverse areas of medicine, such as cancer, palliative and pain control for surgical patients. Even with
countless experiments and evidence, there are plenty of people that are still suspicious of the
therapeutic benefits of music. As a result of this, music has been found as one of the least funded
activities in schools and universities. One of the biggest areas that music needs to be referred to is
mental illnesses. What necessarily makes someone have a mental illness? A mental

My intention with the story I told was to talk on the brief period in former world heavyweight
champion James Douglas s life, circa 1993 1994, where he was indulging after getting a twenty four
million dollar payday for his only championship defense against Evander Holyfield, a fight he lost by
third round stoppage. Much exists on his stunning victory over unbeaten champion Mike Tyson and
the comatose state he slipped into after the post boxing indulgence saw his weight escalate to four
hundred pounds. The comatose state motivated him to get back into fighting shape upon waking up
and make another run at the heavyweight crown, a comeback in which he went eight and one, losing
only to Lou Savarese. But little exists detailing the short span in which he lived in luxury. I wanted to

Examples Of Tone In The Birth Of The Jongleur
Literature has enabled all living life to communicate and build significant jobs since the dawn of time.
Likewise, reading and writing provide us with impeccable information and allows individuals to
liberally express their valid and unique opinions with different uses of toneーdetail, syntax and
imagery . This powerful addition to our communication allows society to thoroughly comprehend the
attitude in which an individual is speaking with. Regarding this, Mistero Buffo s story, The Birth of
the Jongleur initiates these values. To commence, Tone is a quality, feeling, or attitude expressed by
the words that someone uses in speaking or writing (Merriam Webster). Within this powerful passage,
readers can come to a conclusion that tone is a crucial structure of literature. Mistero Buffo exquisitely
showcases that tone defines the overall theme through detail, the mindset of the author s point of view
towards the fundamental topic presented and simply how imagery is used effectively so that readers
may envision the plot while reading. To commence, the word theme is defined as: The main subject
that is being discussed or described in a piece of writing, a movie, etc. or a particular subject or issue
that is discussed often or repeatedly (Merriam Webster). The themes associated with The Birth of the
Jongleur are Struggle and Aspiration, which is indicated through how the character preceded from a
peasant to a Jongleur with the help of Christ. Struggle is implied in the

Analysis Of The Play A Funny Thing Happen On The World
The play A Funny Thing Happen On the Way to the Forum took place in the streets of ancient Rome,
in front of three houses. The play took place during the first century A.D. during the early years of the
Roman Empire. First house belongs to the house of Marcus Lycus, a buyer and seller of beautiful
women. Next is the house of Senex, a Roman senator, his wife Domina, their son Hero, and his slave,
Pseudolus, who is attempting to raise enough money to buy his freedom. Last is the house of Erronius,
a blind man that continuously complain about the unsolved kidnapping long ago of his son and
daughter who were stolen by pirates while they were infants. The basic plot of the play consists of a
slave (Pseudolus) trying to buy his freedom from his owner, Hero, who happens to be the son of Senex
(the father) and Domina (the mother). Luckily for Pseudolus, Hero has fallen in love with Philia, a
virgin who is waiting for Captain Miles Gloriosus to come and claim her, because she has been sold to
him by the proprietor of the House of Pleasure, Marcus Lycus. Hero would give anything in order to
make Philia his; so he promised Pseudolus his freedom if and only if he could get Philia to be his. The
majority of the play revolves around Pseudolus trying to arrange for Hero and Philia to be together
forever. He runs into numerous obstacles, including a hysterical Hysterium, the slave in chief, and a

Roe V Wade Case Summary
1. The issue before the Supreme Court on the case of Roe v. Wade was on abortion. In august 1969 a
single pregnant woman based in Texas wanted to get rid her pregnancy through an abortion. But her
doctor denied the request on a reason that it was against the Texas law. Then Jane Roe identified by
the media as Norma McCorvey sued her doctor for refusing to abort her baby she sought legal help
and filed against henry wade, district attorney for Dallas County, Texas. Jane Roe argued that the law
of Texas was unconstitutional. She later on requested an injunction to restrain Henry Wade. Roe s
lawyer claimed Texas abortion law violated her rights under due process clause of the 14th
amendment.
2. The facts of the supreme court in a 7 2 decision declared that it was the legal right to an abortion
under the fourteenth amendment the case filed by McCorvey against her doctor. The district attorney
of Dallas County from 1951 1987 he enforced a Texas law which prohibited abortion. Even though
Roe v. Wade was the defining abortion case in the United States, McCorvey never actually had the
abortion. The case took three years to reach the Supreme Court, during which time McCorvey gave
birth to her baby and put her up for adoption. Norma McCorvey eventually became a Christian, left
her job at an abortion clinic, and would go on to become a powerful pro life voice. McCorvey had the

Pyramus And Thisbe Vs. Romeo And Juliet

CAMS 045 Final Paper/Final Draft
August 15, 2014
Pyramus Thisbe vs. Romeo Juliet
Tragic love stories have always been appealing to the literary world. This would be seen in Ovid s
Pyramus and Thisbe and William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet . Ovid, one of Rome s greatest
poets, was famous for The Metamorphoses. His love stories were deeply emotional, yet very tragic.
The story of Pyramus and Thisbe is the most emotional story in The Metamorphoses and the most
referenced in love tragedy. William Shakespeare s best plays were his tragedies, starting with Hamlet
all the way through to Macbeth. No one knows exactly which source Shakespeare directly drew from
to create the well known tragic romance, Romeo and Juliet , but it s pretty clear that somewhere along
the way there was some major influence from Pyramus and Thisbe. Both stories, although written in
different era share one key theme: love and tragedy. We fall in love and when once we do something
rare and beautiful is created. Unfortunately not all love stories have happy endings. The lesson learned
in both Pyramus and Thisbe and Romeo and Juliet stories will be the focus of this essay.
Pyramus and Thisbe were lovers whose houses side by side to each other. They were considered so
beautiful that If you searched all the East, you d find no girl with greater charm than Thisbe; and no
boy in Babylon was handsomer than Pyramus (Ovid 111). Overtime from living

Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, And Hinduism
Many religions are practiced throughout the world. The most common ones are l Christianity,
Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism. Each of these have their own views, preachers and
followers. Every religion is independently known because of its distinguishing holy being and god to
be worshipped. Religions give their followers the particular strategies and rules in which to lead their
lives. These rules and strategies give the distinctive identity to the followers of the particular religion.
The religion assists the followers in improving and making better the sense of the world in which they
are spending their lives. Thus religion gives their followers the particular way and teachings to follow
in order to guide their lives.
In today s multicultural societies there is cold war among people because of religion issues. The way
religions are interpreted and practiced makes for significant changes and distinctions. However it is
also the matter of fact that each religion wants the people of other religions to accept and adopt their
religions because all religions believe that their religion is the greatest religion in the world. Though

  • 2. Quality Management Issues of Shipping and Receiving Quality Management Issues of Shipping and Receiving GM588 Managing Quality, Michelle Gardner October 16, 2011 Introduction Professional Flooring Supply (PFS) is a wholesale distributor of flooring installation supplies and sundries. PFS currently has 15 branches located in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Utah and Idaho. Each of these locations serves as a distribution point for resale customers as well as a retail store front for flooring installers. They state The extant review of literature revealed that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Commonly found in developed countries, nations usually have long life expectancies, stable governments, and quality health support. One example of this is the United States of America (shown right). Next, there is Declining Growth, in which a country s pyramid is shaped much like a diamond. The middle section bulges the most in terms of population, and youth as well as elderly are in lower numbers. Nations with negative growth population most likely have birth rates that are too low. Nevertheless, these countries are often developed and posses long life expectancy, balanced, secure government systems, and quality health care. Japan is a clear example of being in this state (shown left). Finally, Rapid Growth is the third and most typical form of a population graph. Iraq expresses this structure and stage of demographic transition, in which a large base become less wide as you increase the age range. Normally, Rapid Growth populations point to poor conditions, poor health care, and low life expectancy. It also is linked with developing, or underdeveloped nations. For this reason, from Iraq s population pyramid I would instantly assume that Iraq is currently undergoing stages of a developing country or not yet forming country. • 5. The Gravitational Slingshot Essay The Gravitational Slingshot The gravitational slingshot is a way that scientists have truly harnessed the gravitational pull of a planet by using it to launch satellites and other useful projectiles towards their desired locations. This method was developed through the use of Newton s Laws of Gravity and Kepler s Laws of Planetary Motion. When these ideas of gravity and the shape of a planet s orbit were brought together piece by piece, this new theory changed how a projectile traveling through space could simply cross an orbital pattern, which would in turn change the path of the moving object. The change in the path accelerates the object at a higher rate and sends it speeding off in its proper direction. The gravitational ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kepler established the Laws of Planetary Motion. The first Law states that the orbit of every planet is an ellipse with the Sun at one of the two foci. The second law states that a line joining a planet and the Sun sweeps out equal areas during equal intervals of time. And the final Law tells that the square of the orbital period of a planet is directly proportional to the cube of the semi major axis of its orbit. Kepler s Laws also come into play with the use of the gravitational slingshot, because Kepler believed that the orbit that a planet takes around another body follows an elliptical pattern, instead of traveling in a perfect circle. Of course each planet has a specific elliptical orbit, just as humans have different fingerprints to identify them. Before launching their equipment into space, each planet must have its pattern identified to ensure accurate results for the launch. This knowledge helps scientists identify where the ellipses are in relation to the paths of orbit so that they can launch satellites in the proper direct, at the proper time, with the proper velocity. Combining both of these sets of theories together has lead the way to the effect we know as the gravitational slingshot effect. Today, the gravity assist effect is used extremely often by NASA and the Air Force. It is the most fuel efficient, naturally occurring booster in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Introduction: Osmosis is the movement of water through a semi permeable membrane, separating solutions of different concentrations. The water passes from a region of high concentration to a region of low concentration, until the two concentrations are equal in concentrations of water. Many cell membranes behave as semi permeable membranes, and osmosis is a vital mechanism in the transport of fluids in living organisms, for example, in the transport of water from the soil to the roots in plants. We set up 14 test tubes, because in order to save time, we intended on doing repeats at the same time as the original experiments were going on. For organisation s sake, we set up all of the test tubes at once, and labelled them individually to avoid confusion later on. In order to make it as much of a fair test as possible, we added the potato chips very quickly, to make sure one chip didn t have a longer amount of time in the solution than another. We then left each one for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, we emptied each test tube, leaving only the potato chips inside. Before we measured and weighed each chip, we dabbed them with paper towel. Baseball has been, and is still today, known as America s favorite pastime; additionally, due to its extensive history and partaking it monumental events, it can as well serve as a great topic to use in a story or poem. Poet Dale Ritterbusch, uses the game of baseball along with metaphors in his poem as a vehicle to write about a more substantial subject in poetry, the Vietnam War. His poem, Behind the Plate , can be simply over looked to one as just a poem about an overweight catcher; nonetheless, when closely examined, it has a deeper meaning. Authors Michael Cocchiarale and Scott Emmert, both agree with the statement that baseball is a great outlet for further analysis of a more important subject: Writers have seen sports, particularly baseball, as a useful vehicle for cultural and epistemological analysis (Cocchiarale). The poem, Behind the Plate , starts off with the line: Always the dumbest and fattest kid played catcher (Ritterbusch, Behind ); however, Dale Ritterbusch chose to start this poem with that statement for a reason it sets a tone for the rest of the poem to have a certain meaning. • 13. Tyranny And The Nature Of Rape In Verginia, Lucretia The tyrannical connection between all the above rape stories relates to the nature of rape. Tyranny, like rape, is an improper expression of dominance. Aggression is turned inward upon its own society; in Verginia s story, for example, asks what was the use of safeguarding a city in which one s children must suffer the horrors they would face had the enemy captured it? (Livy, 3.47). Here, rape is the perfect symbol of tyranny and the disorder it causes. Following the restoration of order, this aggression is turned outward, to a proper expression of dominance: conquest. Joshel writes Assured at home that their wives and children will not be treated as the conquered, these men can go forth [and] conquer and empire. In Lucretia s story, Brutus further focusses on a tyrant s theft of the Roman man s dominance by stating the men of Rome, victorious over all their neighbours, had been turned into drudges and quarry slaves (Livy 1.59). The rape inspires men to regain their dominance. Similarly, the Sabines rape resolves the insult to Rome, which is ultimately victorious over the Sabines sexually and politically, restoring their rightful political dominance. Thus, rape acts as a metaphor for Roman dominance, which during times of chaos is misplaced, but is returned to a proper expression of dominance when order is restored. Essentially, each rape story uses rape to represent a turning point between chaos and order, because rape, by its very nature, is a liminal action. Rape ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The training, or lack of training, shaped the officers into what the army decided it needed at the time, while also shaping the officer s own combat experiences as they were shipped to their respective wars. These things created an atmosphere of leadership that were radically different from each iteration of the US army, producing different kinds of officers for each. The first thing that set apart each of these officers was the training they had as officers and soldiers before being shipped off into combat. The stories of each of the officers shows a progression of the idea of the professional soldier overtaking the idea of the citizen warrior that dominated the culture of the army during the earlier years of American history. This culture of the citizen warrior is easily seen during the Civil War and the training Rhodes recieved both as a soldier and an officer. In Patricia Roberts Miller s article Democracy, Demagoguery, and Critical Rhetoric, analyzes what demagoguery is and how it affects the audience. Speakers or authoritative figures that engage with demagoguery use strategies such as scapegoating and polarization in order to establish a separation between in groups and out groups; in groups tend to form hateful discrimination on out groups and define them with negative features. An example of demagoguery that Roberts Miller uses is in Adolf Hitler s speech about how he wanted German people to change their views and beliefs on the Jewish. Her article however, also consists of several fallacies and may seem somewhat unethical. Throughout Wayne LaPierre s speech on the Newtown Tragedy in 2012, there is usage of what Roberts Miller claims to be demagoguery. Wayne LaPierre is the Vice President of the National Rifle Association (NRA). After the shooting that occurred at Sandy Hook elementary, LaPierre expresses his sympathy for the families of the loss and he then gathers the attention of parents who may be uneasy about their children s safety at school. • 25. Essay on Ernest Hemingway s For Whom the Bell Tolls In Hemingway s For Whom the Bell Tolls, the recurring images of the horse and the airplane illustrate one of the major themes of the novel. The novel s predominant theme is the disintegration of the chivalric order of the Old Spanish World, as it is being replaced by the newer technology and ideology of the modern world. As a consummate artist, Hemingway, in a manner illustrating the gothic quality of his work, allows the bigger themes of For Whom the Bell Tolls to be echoed in the smaller units. He employs the tropes of the horse and the airplane to convey these larger themes, while at the same time using them to comment upon the complex relationship that exists between the Spaniards Fascists and Communists, alike and religion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They have abandoned religion, as they have become disillusioned by it, and, therefore, have no mechanism for atonement. Stemming from their close attachment to the chivalric ideal of equality in battles, the Spanish have absolutely no conception of modern warfare, until the planes begin invading their land. They view war as a match of equals, wherein a lone soldier can look his enemy in the eye as they battle, but, instead, they are forced to come to grips with the horrors of modern warfare. The planes are representative of the modern mechanical accomplishments that have emerged, which can replace the chivalric, soldier of the Old World. With the emergence of such technologies, and the influx of new ideologies, not only has the religion, once integral to chivalry, become obsolete, but the people, too, have become dispensable. Gone forever is the almost sacred element of one on one battles; the planes have eradicated these chivalric ideals, by replacing them with a brand of never before seen mass destruction. In effect, the new ideologies have become the new religion; they have replaced the Church, just as the new mechanisms, such as planes, and mass warfare have replaced the chivalric ideals of the medieval world. The meaning of the horse and airplane images can be illuminated through an exploration of Chapter 27, which conveys, without a doubt, their significance. One of the very first ... Forensic Entomology Procedures Summarizing a Forensic Journal article: Forensic Entomology Procedures The field of Forensic Entomology is essentially a type of scientific study of utilizing insects and arthropods for a criminal investigation. These small creatures are very useful to forensic professionals, because they are naturally attracted to decomposing bodies. The bugs might even lay eggs in the corpse. By examining the insects and their maturing larval stages, modern forensic experts can assess the postmortem indications, and detect any changes in the dead body, leading to evidence of the likely cause of death. Forensic entomologists are very often called upon to assist cops in crime scene investigations. • 30. How To Put My Incapacitated Dog On Wednesday, June 18, 2003, I had finalized the decision to put my incapacitated dog to rest. It became a reality. I clearly remember the warm, breezy day that occurred two weeks ago. As I sat in the freshly cutgrass of my front yard, I paid no attention to the sounds of the birds that were singing or the leaves that were dancing on the trees. All that was on my mind was the details of the last 13 years and remembering the times we shared together. As I kept trying to convince myself that he would not have to suffer another day from his ailments, I kept thinking of the first day that he came into my life. I was 15 years old when I got Valen. It was Valentine s Day in 1990. Earlier that week my mother was near Port Jervis, New York on a business trip. She had some free time before she had to come home to Pennsylvania so she decided to stop at the local SPCA. Her intentions were to simply look at the animals and then leave. She made her way to the area that housed the dogs. There she found a shy, but friendly, golden retriever. He was a bit apprehensive at first, almost as if he was neglected and abused, but it didn t take much of my mom s gentle touch and her soft, subtle voice before this dog realized she was his savior. She decided that she would like to adopt this dog however, the policy was strict, and there was a seven day waiting period before you could adopt an animal. This was in place to allow ample time for the owner to claim their animals if they got astray. As much as my mom wanted to leave that day with the dog, she had to wait. It was on Tuesday, February 13, 1990 that my mom received a call from the SPCA. They were pleased to have the opportunity to offer her the dog through adoption since no one had come forward to claim him. She decided that she would go back to New York the next day to pick him up. On Valentine s Day, I got home from school and to my surprise I was greeted at the door by this vivacious, brown eyed golden retriever. I was so excited and I immediately sat down on the cold, ceramic floor and played with my new friend. We rolled all over the floor and I was giggling as he licked my face, and at the same time, he was whimpering with happiness. We did this for about an hour until I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Individuals with mental illnesses have hardships that they face daily. Patients will mental illnesses may use music therapy to improve the extremity of their mood swings and ultimately, their way of life. What is music therapy? Music therapy is the skillful use of music and musical elements by an accredited music therapist to promote, maintain, and restore mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health (Ulbricht, Psychology Today). Since the beginning of time, music therapy has been documented in multiple ways. In the Old Testament of the Bible, David was found comforting Saul with his harp. Also, Plato and Aristotle both wrote of the virtues of music to calm and soothe, as well as for stimulation and motivation. On the contrary, music therapy wasn t a professional discipline in the United States until the 1940s. In the 21st century, it has broadened even further and is used in diverse areas of medicine, such as cancer, palliative and pain control for surgical patients. Even with countless experiments and evidence, there are plenty of people that are still suspicious of the therapeutic benefits of music. As a result of this, music has been found as one of the least funded activities in schools and universities. One of the biggest areas that music needs to be referred to is mental illnesses. Much exists on his stunning victory over unbeaten champion Mike Tyson and the comatose state he slipped into after the post boxing indulgence saw his weight escalate to four hundred pounds. The comatose state motivated him to get back into fighting shape upon waking up and make another run at the heavyweight crown, a comeback in which he went eight and one, losing only to Lou Savarese. Romeo And Juliet Kevin Lord Josue Prof. Elizabeth Fogle CAMS 045 Final Paper/Final Draft August 15, 2014 Pyramus Thisbe vs. Romeo Juliet Tragic love stories have always been appealing to the literary world. This would be seen in Ovid s Pyramus and Thisbe and William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet . Ovid, one of Rome s greatest poets, was famous for The Metamorphoses. His love stories were deeply emotional, yet very tragic. The story of Pyramus and Thisbe is the most emotional story in The Metamorphoses and the most referenced in love tragedy. William Shakespeare s best plays were his tragedies, starting with Hamlet all the way through to Macbeth. No one knows exactly which source Shakespeare directly drew from to create the well known tragic romance, Romeo and Juliet , but it s pretty clear that somewhere along the way there was some major influence from Pyramus and Thisbe. Both stories, although written in different era share one key theme: love and tragedy. We fall in love and when once we do something rare and beautiful is created. Unfortunately not all love stories have happy endings. The lesson learned in both Pyramus and Thisbe and Romeo and Juliet stories will be the focus of this essay. Pyramus and Thisbe were lovers whose houses side by side to each other. They were considered so beautiful that If you searched all the East, you d find no girl with greater charm than Thisbe; and no boy in Babylon was handsomer than Pyramus (Ovid 111).
