Fourth Amendment Of United States Constitution
ASSIGNMENT 1
Somalaraju Sateesh Kumar Raju

1.
Fourth amendment of United States Constitution protects people from being undergone unwarranted
searches and prevent their things from being taken away by authorities without proper authorization. If
any government official or agent want to search an individual or their belongings, they should have
proper reason to do that and get permission from the judge.
Fourth amendment of United States constitution states that it is the right of the people to be secure in
their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be
violated; and no Warrants shall issue but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and
particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. (Fourth
Amendment U.S. Constitution, n.d.)
The fourth amendment was proposed on September 25th, 1789 along with eleven other amendments
and ratified in 1791 by three fourths of the state legislatures. (Bill of Rights Transcript)

For a police officer to search a car, he should reasonably believe that passengers might be carrying
something. They do not need a warrant because cars are not houses. (Maryland v. Dyson, U.S Sup. Ct.
1999) (Searches and Seizures: The Limitations of the Police, n.d.)
If officers have a probable cause to search the car, they can frisk remaining passengers and their
belongings also. If they found any incriminating evidence like narcotic

Rheumatology Personal Statement
One of my earliest memories, is watching a small figure hobble across the stones with disfigured feet
and toes. This was my grandmother and as she dragged her body riddled with what I now believe to be
rheumatoid arthritis I always wonder how her life might have been changed with proper treatment.
Just when I thought Internal Medicine was my field, I was introduced to Rheumatology. It was during
my intern year when working in the Rheumatology Clinic. The core of my initial attraction was the
very proximity between Rheumatology and IM. Even as the mode of treatment hinged on working
with inherent uncertainty and innate complexity, you also needed to turn to IM fundamentals to
determine a diagnosis. Moreover, I found myself highly intrigued ... Show more content on

In that osteoporosis is a huge societal problem, causing a large number of fractures in the elderly
population and thus leading to a poor quality of life and worse, it was clear that education of
healthcare professionals was a must. Since the USPSTF guidelines state that all women over age 65
should get dexa scans to screen for osteoporosis and start on appropriate therapy to prevent these
fractures, it soon became clear that in our resident run outpatient clinics we were doing a very poor job
in this area. As such, with two colleagues, we designed an intervention protocol based on provider
education on osteoporosis for all residents, attendings, nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
Succinctly, the intervention increased the rate of dexa scan ordering by 34% and this trial is now in its
second phase.
There have been other equally important turning points to date. In my rotation at Georgetown, I
sought to explore the field of rheumatology at a tertiary level and in doing so, gained experience in
common autoimmune conditions and some rare ones as well all which served to solidify my interest in
the field. One of the most pleasant aspects of my duties at Georgetown was the opportunity to work
with children. In taking pediatric rheumatology consults, I realized that as a rheumatologist I may be
able to care for patients of all age groups, leading to an interesting and highly diversified

Federal Government Expansion of Authority
Introduction The role of the institution has grown tremendously over the centuries ever since the
founders of the United States desired a Federal Government with limited powers whose aim was
primarily concerned with promoting the civil liberty of the Americans. According to Savage (2008),
during the reign of George Washington, the federal bureaucracy had only three cabinet departments;
however, the federal government has since grown not only to more than eight cabinet departments, but
also with other numerous bureaus, agencies, government authorities, administrations, and
corporations. Between the periods of independence and the civil war, the federal government
performed limited duties with regards to the daily lives of the American ... Show more content on

From this point on, the influence of the interest groups has been great within the political circles of the
occupants of the white house. Another example of the increasing expansion of the Federal
Government was evident in the passage of the Antitrust Act. Prior to the enactment of the Antitrust
Laws in 1890, the Federal Government had created the Interstate Commerce Commission in 1887 that
was supposed to curtail the autonomy of the local and state governments in supervising businesses
(Holcombe, 1996). While these two laws were important in the Federal Government s increased
involvement in the daily lives of the American people, perhaps it was Sherman Antitrust Act of 1890
that clearly demonstrated the increasing expansion of the federal authority in an unprecedented way.
The enactment of the Antitrust Act was prompted by the need to protect the public from the
exploitation of businesses and business owners. In other words, through the Antitrust Act, the Federal
Government hoped that it would limit the economic powers enjoyed by businesses. While the
enforcement of the laws may have taken a little longer (Holcombe, 1996), the passage of the law in
itself was a pointer that the

Money With Affiliate Marketing Online Essay
How to make money with affiliate marketing online is a topic that a lot of people come to Stuart Ross
with. Stuart is millionaire digital entrepreneur and co founder of the Six Figure Mentors (SFM) and
Digital Experts Academy (DEA), a Premier Business and Entrepreneur Online Education Service and
one of the fastest growing exclusive private communities on the internet today.
People tend to approach Stuart with a question like this, Stuart, I m thinking of getting started online. I
want to live the internet lifestyle. I want to create my digital empire, but I just don t know what sort of
products to create? What they re saying is that they ve been looking in the market place and can see
there s a variety of programs out there to make money with affiliate marketing online.
The question is usually, Can you recommend any of the programs out there? or What types of products
shall I be selling? The mistake people often make when they first get started online is that they look
for affiliate programs that have the highest commission payouts or are quite low cost. The reason for
this is that they think that these are going to be the easiest products to sell because of their low cost.
They then go and sign up to any old affiliate program and go out and start trying to make affiliate
commissions. The problem with this is that so often people are not that passionate or bothered about
the products they are selling. I will tell you this straight no course, training

William Morris Influence
This essay will aim to discuss how William Morris has influenced the art and design world and how
he still continues to in contemporary art today. The analysis of the essay will focus on a brief overview
of the arts and crafts movement, then lead on to the impact Morris made during the era and the
theories of John Ruskin, as well as examining artists like David Mabb who have been influenced by
Morris heavily in their work, whether that be by using Morris s designs or by his ideologies. The Arts
and Crafts movement began around 1880 in Britain and quickly spread across the world, eventually
developing into Mingei Japanese Folk art. The movement was built upon growing concern of the
effects that industrialisation was having on art and design and the traditional skills that people had
learnt through the trade were being replaced by machines. One of the most influential people of this
era was William Morris who Above all... was an artist an identity that for him involved being a

The Impact Of Political Change On Russia
How significant was war in bringing about political change in Russia in the year 1856 1964?
War had a huge political impact on Russia from 1856 to 1964, but it was not the only factor that
brought about political change. Political change was influenced by many aspects. A big part of what
brought about political change was the different wars that took place which included; The Crimean
war of 1853, The Russo Japanese war of 1904 and lastly the First World War that began in 1914.
These Wars were all significant in motivating political change for Russia from the years 1856 to 1964,
but again they cannot be seen as the only factor which had led to a political turning point. Reforming
leaders such as Alexander II, Nicholas II, Stalin and Khrushchev all played significantly big roles in
also bringing about some political change for Russia. Although events such as War and the acts of
leaders did accelerate political change for Russia, we must not forget the impact that Revolutionary
movements such as the Murder of Alexander II and the Bolsheviks revolution had.
The Crimean war of 1853 1856 was fought at Crimean Peninsula, where Russia was fighting mainly
against Britain, France and the Ottoman Empire. The war was known as a long bloody war, as a result
of poor organisation, leadership and communication of both Russia and the allies. Russia also known
as the Police of Europe due to the Vienna Treaty of 1814 was responsible in keeping peace in Europe,
but this all changed when

Effective communication is important when working with children to develop relationships, childcare
workers must make contact with children to be understood. Two different forms of communication
are; verbal and non verbal. Verbal communication involves a child care worker using written or
spoken words to communicate with a child. Non verbal communication is the use of body language
including gestures, touch and eye contact which would most often go alongside verbal communication
to make communication with children more effective.
Early years practitioners should use verbal communication when communicating with children, this is

Influences Of Beauty, Fashion, And Music In The 1900s
The 1900s were known as both an influential and memorable century when talking about the
inspiration on how the American culture is today. This paper will mainly discuss the influences of
beauty, fashion, and music from specific decades that are deemed to show the changes in American
culture today. The first factor to be considered is beautification and how it played a significant role in
the shaping the trends of the beauty world today. Next will be beauty s right hand the fashion industry,
which has changed as much as the beauty trends throughout time. These trends will be exampled by
the beauty and makeup trend from the first years of the 1900s all the way up to the 1950s decade.
Lastly, we will explain how music, from heavy metal all the way to psychedelic rock, has always been
a big influence on many aspects of a person s life, and just how big of an impact music can have in the
1900s of America. The music that will be discussed will start in the 1960s and continue on to the year
of 1999 (Insert Prince song here). This paper will first go back to the first years in the 1900s to truly
give a background of what beauty was considered to be in this new century for America. In the very
early 1900s, the clothing was extravagant, while the makeup simple. Yes, it still did take a crew of

The nurses visited the patients mornings and afternoons until recover them not to getting worst. Out of

characteristics, however pneumonia as a cause of acute decompensation was most frequent in the
hospitalized group versus the hospital at home group. In the hospital at home group 18 subjects or
69.2% responded well and eight required hospitalization. These eight subjects were all older and
suffered from ALS which is an advance form of NMD and also had a history of more hospitalization

encumbrance and severe hypoxemia and eventually needed a tracheotomy. Three other subjects
required full time ventilatory dependence and a 24 hour surveillance in respiratory ICU.

puzzles of ecology and evolution (Hutchinson, 1961). Different species had evolved from their
ancestral and were not created in their present forms (Darwin, 1859).

Mutation is a change in the nucleotide sequence of an organism s DNA thus forming new alleles. Even
it involves only change in a single base, whether it be insertion, deletion or substitution the effects are
significant. The severity of the frame shift depends on how far down the DNA base sequence the
mutation occurs (Crick, 1961). It gives rise to the changes in genotype and therefore different
phenotype will be expressed. Sometimes mutations can occur in noncoding proteins region and bring
no effect to the phenotypic characteristic. This is known as neutral variation. Mutation is a random and
spontaneous process during DNA duplication. The formation of a harmful protein may be
disadvantageous to the organism. Selection pressure will remove these alleles and it will not be passed
on the next generations. On rare occasion, a mutant allele brings advantage to the bearer by making it
better adapted to the environment thus increasing the reproductive success. For example, Patagona
gigas living in Andean Highlands, an oxygen poor region in South Africa which is 16,000 feet above
sea level, experienced identical mutation independently and not by interbreeding. The mutation
change their haemoglobin gene make it easier for oxygen to bind (Projecto Garcia, 2013). Hence high
altitude hummingbirds have adaptive oxygen binding traits to live in higher elevation zone.

Investigation trainees with the adequate information they need to prepare them to know what to look
for when looking for blood and hair samples at a crime scene. This also instructs the trainee the
significance of how to avoid tampering with evidence and how to properly collect a sample. The men
and women trainees have classroom tutorials on the subject as well as a hands on interactive tour of a

they provide the knowledge to identify and collect evidence at a real life crime scene, supervised by
experienced investigators Detective Gates and Morgan. The videos and real life case trainings are
necessary for the trainees to properly know how to handle evidence and their surroundings during an
investigation. Trainees need classroom as well as hands on training, when learning how to handle

The Importance Of Intercultural Dialogue In Canada
Multi culturalism pervades Canada as a nation, a predominately immigrant driven and sustained
country that seems at times to indicate overtly and in part covert inferences from those who slip
through the cycle of immigration without the opportunity of engaging and by extension impacting the
conversation on intercultural dialogue in Canada. One can cite that majority of Canada s population is
comprised of diverse ethnic and cultural background of immigrants yet the term visible minority has
been harnessed to dichotomize its immigrant community, bit of oxymoron possibly. Luzviminda, an
extremely creative expression of dialogue between Canada and the various ethnicities that seek to
improve or enrich there lives and those of there love ones. Its epitomizes another avenue of
communicative osmosis of cultures that s enhances and penetrates the social, political and cultural
platform from which they initiate and exchange dialogue. I cannot negate the that fact, while Canada
frames the space for such migration to be possible for immigrant population, it goes without say that
the benefit is dual in nature. Canada s socio economic paradigm is by virtue very much at a perpetual
advantage as a result of its expeditious growth from the immigrant community. Luzvinminda, stands
as a representation of this intercultural dialogue. Dr. Patrick Alcedo, Associate Professor of the
Department of Dance at York University states that, A portmanteau , Luzvinminda represents the three

In the case when it is necessary to converse with other human service professionals about one of our
clients in your caseload, one can only share the necessary information when asking for advice on how
to come up with a solution for that client. Guidelines for Making and Evaluating Referrals When
working with clients and making referrals on their behalf, it is key to follow up with clients on a
regular basis. There are several different ways that human service professionals can accomplish this.
We must make sure that we keep updated contact information like phone numbers, addresses and
email addresses for each client so that they can be reached. An appointment can be set up for the client
to come into the office and then the human service professional can inform the client about the types
of services available and the referrals that will be made. To track the success of the referral a case
manager can call the client or the agency to check in. A different way to track a referral is to set up an
appointment with the client to discuss how the referral is progressing. This way you are able to assess
the how the client is feeling about the referral and see if the client is in need of additional services.
Identifying Barriers To best serve our clients human service professionals must be able to take

What Is The Situationist Perspective In Lord Of The Flies
Dr. Zimbardo uses a situationist perspective on the ways through which anti social behavior is
understood, treated and prevented. This view contrasts with the traditional dispositional perspective,
which locates evil within individual predispositions and looks at a person s internal factors and traits.
The situationist perspective is different in that, unlike the dispositional perspective, it often uses
experimental and laboratory research to demonstrate vital phenomena, whereas other perspectives
may only use archival or correlational data to suggest such answers. The main example that illustrates
through experimental research and social analysis is the ease by which ordinary, good people are
induced into behaving in evil ways. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We live in a world cloaked with evil; it is ironic how humans are capable of committing the most

Lord of the Flies and the Psychology of Deindividuation
This section is mainly about The Lord of the Flies by William Golding and how it illustrates that one s
external physical appearance can lead to a tremendous change in one s mental state. It is really
interesting how in the book, once the boys get over the initial moral dilemma of whether to kill a pig
and live or whether to let the pig live and die themselves, they have no problem with killing pigs. With
every killing, the death of the pig seems to become more brutal and demoralizing. At one point, they
even impale the pig with a stick in the anus, proclaiming their deed in horrific valor. This goes back to
sexual aggression because it can be viewed as the raping and killing of a female pig. I can justify the
gradual ease of killing pigs with an example. My friend, who goes hunting often, told me about how
he can manage to kill a dear without feeling bad inside. He said that the actual killing is only hard the
first time and that the other times, it is relatively easy because one simply stops thinking about it. One
thinks about the deer as the prey, not as an innocent animal minding its own business. As for the
experiment with the deindividuated and individuated women, it seems to make a lot of sense

It is quite interesting to me that as times change, the general idea of beauty changes. The sad thing is
that it seems to follow money. Back then, pale, plump people were seen as more beautiful than skinny,
tanned people. Back then, pale skin and a little bit of extra blubber meant that someone had enough
money that they could stay inside and get enough to eat. Now, it seems that the opposite is true.
Healthy food is more expensive than the alternatives such as McDonald s. Having tan skin may mean
that a person has enough money to go lay in a coffin looking thing, get an artificial sunburn, and get
nice leathery skin. Who doesn t like leathery skin? Wow, this got off topic quickly. I like the skipper

Catharsis was theorized by the Greek philosopher Aristotle, in which he believed we purge our

believed that the person will purge their violent tendencies and thoughts while watching a horror film,

2.2 Dashboards * This subset of reporting includes the ability to publish formal, Web based or mobile
reports with intuitive interactive displays of information, including dials, gauges, sliders, check boxes
and traffic lights. These displays indicate the state of the performance metric compared with a goal or
target value. Increasingly, dashboards are used to disseminate real time data from operational
applications or in conjunction with a complex event processing engine. *
2.3 Ad hoc query * This capability enables users to ask their own questions of the data, without
relying on IT to create a report. In particular, the tools must have a robust semantic layer to allow
users to navigate available data sources. These tools should include a disconnected analysis capability
that enables users to access BI content and analyze data remotely without being connected to a server
based BI application. In addition, these tools should offer query governance and auditing capabilities
to ensure that queries perform well. *
2.4 Microsoft Office integration * In some use cases, BI platforms are used as a middle tier to manage,

cases, it is vital that the BI vendor provides integration with

Social Forces Research Paper
Social forces can be perceived either bad or good depending on what and who they affect. Such social
forces as who we choose to marry, where we are employed, and how much education we receive are
all components of our culture, personal environment, and history. Depending on how you were raised,
your view of these social forces will be either positive or negative because in most cases they either
affect your status in society, when you will choose to have a family, or how much money you will
have for the future. From a young age, I was told by my parents and grandparents to receive good
grades in school because that would allow me to have a bright future. Along with this, I was told that I

small two bedroom house and a loaf of bread for dinner. This image of poverty was the single most

Kohlberg s Theory Of Moral Development Essay
Lawrence Kohlberg is best known for his theory of moral development. This is a psychological theory
which Kohlberg was influenced by psychologists Jean Piaget and John Dewey stage of development.
Kohlberg developed most of his ideas based on Piaget s theory of cognitive development.
Accordingly, the theory of moral development consists of three levels of moral reasoning: pre
conventional, conventional, and post conventional. Additionally, it is broken down into two stages per
level. Pe conventional is stage one of obedience and punishment; stage two is individual interest.
Conventional is stage three of interpersonal and stage four is about authority. Lastly, post conventional

Their explanation was It s against the law or It s inferior to steal according to Crain, a professor at The
City College of New York. In stage two individual interest children commence recognizing the right
viewpoint. In contrast with stage one: stage two punishments are simply a risk that one wants to avoid
(Crain). Studies show boys want to avoid punishment because of their own interest. On of stage two s
characteristics is to act of someone s own attentiveness. Level one of moral development involves the
authorities laws and one s own interest. (Crain). The subsequent level in the theory of moral
development is conventional morality. The stages included in this level: interpersonal and authority.
Children that are typically in stage four are pre teens that are starting to understand morality with a
better comprehension of what it actually means. Children want the approval of others, so they can
have the desire of being a generous person. Preteens react this way in the sense of getting something
vigorous out of it, in this case being an exceptional person. An example of this stage is: a child gives
away her lunch to a street peasant because she thinks doing so means being nice (Sincero). The
following stage authority, law, and order involves respecting the law and following the obligations of a
duty. Nevertheless, members of a community tend to maintain in this stage

Essay about The Establishment of Globalization
Traditional international trade involves a complex system of trade barriers to ensure the protection of
domestic industry and its workers interests. The trade impediments and subsidies include protective
tariffs, import quotas, non tariff barriers such as licensing, and export subsidies. Originally, a country s
economy acted independently of other nations. The growing trend since the establishment of GATT in
1947 is globalization.
Introduction
In globalization, a country acts as a part of a free trading community consisting of member nations
around the globe. As a trading community, trade problems can easily be resolved through negotiations
rather than a trade war (McConnell 104 105). The US government employs the use of protective ...

The House Home Exhibit
Do you remember playing with dollhouses as a child, or how about building homes out of Lego s or
Lincoln Logs? The concept of home is something we experience from a very young age, after all, as
the new long term exhibit House Home at the National Building Museum points out, We all live
somewhere. The House Home exhibit explores a subject so wide and so fundamental to the American
way of life that it resonates with visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
A visit to any of the Washington, D.C. based National Building Museum s exhibit starts with taking in
the grandeur of the museum itself. Located in the historic Pension Building, a towering Italian Revival
structure, the museum opened in 1980, with a mission to to advance the quality of the built
environment by educating people about its impact on their lives (About the National Building
Museum, 2016). The museum s great hall features 75 foot high corinthian columns, as well as a 1,200
foot long, 3 foot high frieze designed by Caspar Buberl in 1899. The very structure of this museum is
an exhibit in and of itself, and it sets the stage for discussions about the evolution of American
architecture, investigations into why we live where we do, and explorations of work and play.
House Home is the National Building Museum s newest long term exhibit, which opened in 2012 to
positive public and critical reception. The Washington Post summary and review of the exhibition

Connectivity And Topology Of Wireless Networks
Connectivity and topology control: Some approaches tried to improve the system reliability by
carefully designing the connectivity or topology of wireless networks. Paper [50] addresses the
problem of fault tolerant deployment of wireless ad hoc networks. Based on the pre assumed
transmission range, the authors propose a scheme to calculate the probability that a given network is k
connected. Based on the intensive deployment, the redundant sensor nodes are used to cope the
random working nodes failure. Following the similar idea, a distributed algorithm is proposed in [52].
By deploying calculated necessary number of extra nodes in the given network, the objective of fault
tolerant topology control can be achieved. However, due to the limited space and cost constraint,
adding redundant nodes to a deployed WSN may not always be an acceptable solution. Another fault
tolerant topology control algorithm is presented by Li and Hou in [53], in which a spanning subgraph
is computed by each node. If a pair of vertices is not k connected, an extra edge will be added between
these two vertices. The authors further prove that the resultant global network is k connected. In [54],
by considering the mobility of nodes, the author shows the mobility resilient topology control
protocols. The author classifies the topology control protocols into two types. 1) In this case, the
topology is built and maintained by each node based on its own knowledge about its neighbors.

College Music Majors and Non Music Majors: Hearing Thresholds and Distortion Product
Otoacoustic Emission Results
Introduction
Studies have shown that noise induced hearing loss (NIHL) can be caused by repeated loud exposures
to music (Miller, Stewart, Lehman 2007; Phillips, Henrich, Mace 2010). Miller et al. (2007) found that
university student musicians are a high risk population for hearing loss. In 2010, Phillips et al. found
that of 329 student musicians, 45% had a NIHL. This study will focus on the differences in hearing
thresholds and Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emission results (DPOAEs) between college music
majors and non music majors. This will help determine if steps and precautions need to be taken to
avoid NIHL in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Su Hyun et al. (2013) included giving information to the marching band members about the use of
hearing protection devices but over 50 percent of students reported not using the ear plugs during
rehearsals. Schmidt et al. (2014) included that hearing protection devices are a good idea, but did not
include whether or not this information was given to the participants. As a result of Phillips et al.
(2010), the university implemented a hearing conservation program. Jansen et. al (2009) also
incorporated information about giving musicians access to learning about the risks of noise exposure.
These studies have all concluded that continuing education about the risks of noise, use of hearing
protection devices, and the repercussions of hearing loss is important for musicians and should be
implemented in music programs.
Rationale Halevi Katz et al. (2015), Phillips et al. (2010), and Schmidt et al. (2014) have linked
hearing loss to musicians. Miller et al. (2007) and McBride et al. (1992) have shown that musicians
are an at risk population for hearing loss. Further research should be done to further develop if student
musicians are only an at risk population for hearing loss or are experiencing some form of hearing loss
when in comparison to their non music major related peers. This will help prove that hearing
conservation programs are needed on college campuses

The Battle Of Malvern Hill
The Battle of Malvern Hill:
Field Artillery played a significant role in many battles during the Civil War. The Battle of Malvern
Hill is one such instance. Located in Henrico County VA, Malvern Hill sits South East of Richmond
just north of the James River. This battle is part of The Peninsula Campaign (March September 1862)
and more specifically the Seven Days Battle. The Seven Days Battle was a series of six battles starting
on June 25, 1862 at The Battle of Oak Grove and ending at Malvern Hill on July 1, 1862. During the
battle, artillery in both armies had a drastic effect on the outcome whether good or bad. In this paper,
we will discuss the initial disposition of troops as well as the challenges faced by each army, the
actions taken once hostilities initiated and the outcome of the battle. In conclusion, we will discuss the
lessons learned from this battle as it pertains to the Field Artillery as well as the relevance of the
lessons learned to the modern day battlefield.
Union Forces At this time, Major General George B. McClellan commanded the Union Army of the
Potomac although he would be relieved of command soon after this battle by President Abraham
Lincoln despite the battle being a Union victory. M.G. McClellan was relieved because of a difference
in tactical decision making between M.G. McClellan and President Lincoln. At the beginning of this
battle, he had 89,000 men under his command although not all of that number saw action in this battle.

Sorry Not Sorry By Rowan Blanchard Summary
As evidenced by Rookie s article Sorry, Not Sorry, and Rowan Blanchard s essay about white
feminism, Rowan Blanchard is both ambitious and honorable in her ways of learning to stop
apologizing when she does not live up to societal norms for a teenage girl and starting to slowly
become a young feminist icon. Rowan is a 14 year old actress in the Disney Channel show Girl Meets
World , in addition, she is also a writer and activist. Yet from reading any of her writing, she is far
beyond her years and sounds like a woman with college level knowledge. She is an intersectional
feminist, i.e., feminism that includes women of all colors, races, sexuality, and gender spectrum
identities and the oppression they face in society. For such a small girl, she is not afraid to voice her
opinions and educate others on important women s rights topics, shying away from the white
feminism becoming more mainstream daily.
In Rookie s article Sorry, Not Sorry, Blanchard wrote In order to quit apologizing to other people, you
must first and foremost learn to stop apologizing for being yourself to yourself. [..] You can only do
your best YOU. (Blanchard 1). I believe, the concept of loving yourself unapologetically is one of the
truest forms of ambition a person can have. Before being comfortable with who you are, you have to

The Negative Effects Of Too Much Schoolwork
Have you ever heard your child complain that their school gives to much homework? Is your child
losing sleep because of how much schoolwork they have? Have you noticed your child s grades have
been suffering? Well maybe you are on to something. Some kids may say that homework takes away
their free time, or the school gives so much that it causes insane amounts of stress for them, and
homework can even cause kids to get worse grades. These symptoms are all linked to too much
schoolwork. You know when you hear your kid say that all they do is homework, and you just roll
your eyes? Some schools give so much work that even the most focused kids cannot seem to get it
done with time to spare. This means that children are spending all their time on work. This does not
leave any time for themselves. As a kid, I know how important time to ourselves is. That time can
allow us to unwind and play with friends. If a child does not have enough free time, they may become
grumpy or irritable. This can cause them to not focus, which may lead to getting less work done.
Excessive amounts of schoolwork can even cause kids to become so stressed that they give up. This is
one of the worst things that could happen. Researchers have discovered that when children spend too
much time on homework, they experience extreme stress and different health problems. If a child is
over stressed, they will start to have a high temper. This can happen when someone is working so
hard, they build up so much stress. If someone tries to talk to them, they might snap and become
extremely angry because they were interrupted. They may also start to not care about their grades, or
about what they do with friends. Too much homework can cause family stress. Some parents try to
help their kids with work. They may not know how to do the work themselves, or have the time and
energy after working all day. This will cause stress, not only for the parents, but also for the kids. If
the parents do not understand the work, they cannot help their kids understand it. Children also may
not be able to spend time with their friends and family because they are spending too much time
working. When you were a kid, you probably played with your friends after homework.

Obesity And The Body Weight Ideals
During conversations, one will realizes that the term obese is used by people to describe those
appearing to be fatter than a criteria they consider as being normal. This then leads to the following
question; what do the terms average weight or normal size refer to? Does the term average refer to
average weight, width or the fat content in the body? Whether the definition is based on human width,
abdominal diameter or weight, etc., the point of reference or datum depends on the observer and may
vary from one individual to another. What is referred to as normal may not have definite dimensional
measures but just arbitrary. Obesity to most people globally may be based on societal body weight
ideals. Whatever be the definition of obesity any society, the fact remains that, when has a BMI of
over twenty nine, health problems begin to pile up. The following data on obesity is quoted from the
National Institute of Diabetes and digestive diseases (2012). Adults Age 20 and Older 2 More than two

Bertrand Delanoe, Mayor of Paris.
(Quoted shortly after the inauguration of the Vélib system, July 2007.)
According to his inauguration, the Vélib system appoints the need of both personalized and mobility
and low carbon solutions for urban transport passenger system. The main modal for this system is to
provide low environments that reduce the impact of mobility service for large cities and urban centers.
For this application, Vélib use Cyclocity as the basic ideas to be user friendly as possible.
The main components of the system are the bike, the stations where they are attached and the software
that can track the bikes journey and the rental time of each journey made. One of the common
rationales cited by bike programs is that they provide an effective substitute for at least some of the
large numbers of short distance trips made by cars in urban areas, often with only one person in the
car. Such trips make poor use of scarce public resources, and of course carry with them a heavy
environmental burden.
If many passengers tend to use private vehicle, this objective cannot be achieved. However Paris has

Technology In The Cold War Essay
Technologies of the Cold War Technologies played an important role in our lives before and right now.
The development of the science and technology promoted the progress of the society. The wide spread
of using electricity boosted economy around the world; the invention of the telephone made people s
communication become easier; airplanes make people travel longer distances in shorter times. As
same as other time period in the history, during the Cold War, the great inventors from different
countries invented better weapons and things to make their country win the war. Those new weapons
and technologies changed the strategies used by the commanders, the way the soldiers fight, and the
form of the war. Technologies certainly affect the war.
The Cold War period was a time that a lot of countries needed to develop their science and technology.
They needed new weapons to win the war, and their commanders could not confine themselves with
those old tactics that were already known by their enemies. In order to win, lots of changes were made
and they affected not just the arms race and the space race, but also research in agriculture,
biomedicine, computer science, ecology, meteorology, and other fields. Many people find that ... Show

Under the leadership of President John F. Kennedy, they launched Apollo program and put the first
man on the moon in 1961. Later, a Gemini program was also launched, under which the Americans
learned how to change the orbit of a spacecraft and how the human body would be affected. Another
significant development would be the launch of Apollo 11 spacecraft to the space on July 16, 1969,
with crew astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins who moved to the Lunar
module, called the Eagle, and began their descent to the Moon. With this fist step on the moon,

Summary Of The Sorrows Of Young Werther
The human race is but a monotonous affair. Most of them labour the greater part of their time for mere
subsistence; and the scanty portion of freedom which remains to them so troubles them that they use
every exertion to get rid of it. Oh, the destiny of man! Werther s offhanded comment in The Sorrows
of Young Werther provides insight on how people perceive work and freedom during his time, and
how that relates to the way modern society perceives it as well. People like to assume society has
progressed in many ways in the last 200 years, but in some ways, habits have not changed much. The
working and recreational habits of the middle class man as revealed through Sorrows are not far
removed from the way college students and working adults treat the same time. Werther makes a point
of saying that the people he meets in Walheim are like the type one would meet everywhere. Much of
their time is spent working for survival, whether that be in a more gentleman like job or as simple as
farming. Some, like Werther, are exempt from this sort of life style because of their status. He, like
Lotte and Albert, are upper middle class, typically because of the status of their parents. In the 1700 s,
it was difficult for most people not already around that social range to suddenly rise up into it. Due to
changing ideas concerning social hierarchies and the increased freedom in colonies slowly wore down
this well established barrier, but it had not yet broken down to the point it is

The Importance Of Executive Agreements In Foreign Policy
In foreign policy, there are two types of executive agreements, treaties and international agreements or
executive agreements. The president is able to create a treaty with another country but needs two
thirds of the U.S. Senates advice and consent for the treaty to pass. Joint possession of the power in
question, by the President and Senate, would afford a greater prospect of security than the separate
possession of it by either of them (Milkis and Nelson, 2016). The Constitution believed that it would
be safer for the United States if both the executive and legislative branches worked together to create
treaties. An example of a treaty is the Jay Treaty. The Jay Treat was between the United States and
Great Britain, but there were some issues with this treaty. Other politicians and citizens did not like
what the treaty stated. They believed the Jay Treat unconstitutionally undermined the separate of
powers (Demmer, 2015). But they could not take any action because senate already gave the two
thirds approval. For treaties, Congress has the power to accept or decline what the president writes.
The Constitution of the United States, has empowered Congress, and not the president (Demmer,
2015). This means Congress has more power in leading foreign policy. Then there is the executive
agreement which brought into force with respect to the United States on a constitutional basis other
than with the advice and consent of Senate ( Treaty vs. Executive Agreement ).

The Mining Industry And Its Effects On The Environment
1. INTRODUCTION
The world as we know it, is continuously evolving. With an increase in population, there exists a great
deal of economic and social needs. The earth is enriched with a vast of diverse precious minerals
which play a significant role in our lives. These minerals are used in many sectors such as medicine,
construction, agriculture etc. To extract these precious minerals from the earth s crust, extensive
mining operations are carried out daily. These operations comprise drilling and blasting of ores to
attain the minerals. During these operations great harm and damage is being done on the environment.
The mining industry is by far the most influential industry with regards to setting a country s economy
in motion. Different mines extract different minerals from coal to diamond and gold. These resources
are embedded within ores which have to be drilled and blasted to be extracted. After retracting the
resources the waste rock and waste that is detached from the ore during processing, is dumped away
from the pit onto a surface waste dump which is commonly known as mine tailings. Mine tailings are
the largest mine wastes on earth and can reach several hundred meters in elevation. This type of waste
results to countless environmental effects.
Excluding water, concrete is the mostly used material on earth. It is considered as the most important
material in the Building Environment due to its extensive usage in the construction industry. Concrete
is primarily used

What Is Social Cohesion
Social cohesion refers to setting the correct mind set of the people to bond together regardless of
religion and race. Social cohesion plays an important role in a country as it brings peace and harmony
to the people. When there is social cohesion in a country, it was said that the people often share the
same beliefs and values. However, it is not necessary that their lifestyles and beliefs have to be exactly
the same.
For example, in relation to religion, it is possible that the people can pray to the individual gods they
believe rather than everyone in the community to be part of the same beliefs. It is what they referred to
as a social contract. A social contract defines as the understanding of the people in a society that is
able to keep up the certain standard for the well being of the whole society. This includes being able to
have the privileges of political responsibilities like voting and payment of taxes. Also they have to
make sure that they are up to the moral values such as keeping a high level of respect as well as
mutual trust for one another. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An important example of communal harmony is the country India. It is the only country where people
are living in peace and harmony for a very long period of time. There were no fights or arguments
over unfairness treatment among the people of different religions. Even with a minor racial fights or
arguments, it usually end up with tensions and violence between the two parties, leading to distrust
and more unnecessary protests or riots. It might also result in injuries and deaths when the fights

The Ebola Virus
The Ebola Virus
A virus is an ultramicroscopic infectious organism that, having no independent metabolic activity, can
replicate only within a cell of another host organism. A virus consists of a core of nucleic acid, either
RNA or DNA, surrounded by a coating of antigenic protein and sometimes a lipid layer surrounds it as
well. The virus provides the genetic code for replication, and the host cell provides the necessary
energy and raw materials. There are more than 200 viruses that are know to cause disease in humans.
The Ebola virus, which dates back to 1976, has four strains each from a different geographic area, but
all give their victims the same painful, often lethal symptoms. The Ebola virus is a member of a

Close contact and dirty needles spread the Ebola virus. The center of the epidemic in Zaire involved a
missionary hospital where they reused needles and syringes without sterilization. Most of the staff of
the hospital got sick and died. This outbreak infected 318 with a death rate of 93% (Le
Guenno et al. 1271). Another fatal case was reported one year later in Zaire but nothing major ever
became of it. The most recent case recorded was the infamous breakout in Kikwit, Zaire. This
breakout had the world in an uproar about the possibility of this virus spreading out globally. This
outbreak appeared to have started with a patient who had surgery in Kikwit on April 10,
1995. Members of the surgical team then developed symptoms similar to those of a viral hemorrhagic
fever disease (Ebola Info. from the CDC 2). From there, the disease spread to more than 300 others.
The most frequent symptoms at the onset were fever (94%), diarrhea (80%), and server weakness
(74%); other symptoms included dysphagia (41%) and hiccups (15%). Clinical signs of bleeding
occurred in 38% of cases (JAMA 274: 373). The World Heath Organization declared on
August 24, 1995 that the outbreak of Ebola Zaire in Kikwit was officially over after killing 244 of its
315 known victims ( Ebola Outbreak Officially Over 1).
This outbreak had a rate of death over 75%. Ebola Sudan also occurred in 1976 about the same time as
Ebola Zaire.
The number of cases was 284 with a death rate of 53% (Le

Theme Of Baptism In To Kill A Mockingbird
Connection: The biblical story, Jonah and the Whale, is an example of Baptism. God gave Jonah a job,
but he set off in another direction. Suddenly, there was a storm. The boat was tossing in the middle of
the sea. No one on the boat knew what to do. Jonah knew that the storm was because of him. God was
with him. Everyone prayed for forgiveness and they threw Johan into the water. The storm
immediately stopped. God heard Jonah s prayers and sent a fish to rescue him. Jonah lived in the fish s
stomach for three days. He prayed to God for help. When it was safe, the fish spit Jonah out onto the
land. Jonah was cleansed when he returned back to the land. Being tossed into the water was
symbolic. He was reborn after the incident.
Connection: In this section, Foster talks about the importance of geography. It can define a character.
An example of when geography defines a character is in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. The
character Boo Radley s house is described as a scary, threatening place. The reader infers the that the
character who lives in the house is also scary and someone to avoid. The mysterious Boo Radley
keeps the reader engaged throughout the book, but by the end we learn that he is not as mean as we
originally believed.
Connection: Pure originality is impossible when writing. When it comes to fairytales, ideas seem to
often overlap. Often times in fairytales characters good overcomes evil. This is true for Aladdin,
Cinderella, and Snow White. In Aladdin, Jazmine and Aladdin fall in love, but since Aladdin is not a
prince, he cannot marry Jazime. When he discovers the Genie, he turns himself into a prince. In return,
Jafar tries everything to kill Aladdin so he can marry Jazmine for her wealth. Ultimately, Jafar s
behavior catches up to him and he loses his freedom, as he is trapped in a lamp.
Connection: A character s physical qualities tell the reader a lot about the character. In Frankenstein,
the creature s deformity depicts his nature. He is scary, powerful, and cunning. He acts out of
isolation. People are afraid of him and beat him, so he is forced to retreat to places where he cannot be
seen by people. He is only able to come out at night. His deformity dictates how other

What Is My Culture Essay
I am familiar with my culture because my grandparents were able to impose their customs onto my
parents and their children. Without them I would not be eating traditional foods, celebrating the
Hispanic culture, or be aware of my family history. I am 100% Mexican, and I admire the Latin
culture to the fullest. The Mexican culture consists of a tight family, plentiful cuisine, Spanish
language, Latin music, and the Catholic religion. Growing up in a Mexican household has definitely
influenced my morals, values, and character. Although I remain living in a Hispanic household I
sometimes forget how important the culture influences the person I am today.
In the Mexican culture, we cook with many different spices, vegetables, and meats.

I would visit every day afterschool and it was the best adventure running through multiple gardens
with different crops. My grandparents grew cactus, lemons, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and aloe vera
plants. It is a small reminder of their ranch in Zacatecas, Mexico and it is also their getaway from the
city. My grandparents grow their own crops because to them it is a hobby, and they are able to sell
them when there is an exceeding amount of harvest. Agriculture is common in most Hispanic families,
whether it is owning a simple lemon tree or growing a small aloe vera plant, there is always something
sprouting. I found it unusual that no matter what oppression we were put through we were still able to
preserve our most important customs and values. Many other cultures were stripped of their identities,
and till today we are able to pass down our traditions. Learning about how my family traveled from
deep into Mexico to Southern California brining their culture with them is amazing. Being able to
speak a different language with people that share the same ethnicity reminds me of how special my
cultural identity is. The Mexican culture is rich of culture has not been affected by newer

  • 2. Fourth Amendment Of United States Constitution ASSIGNMENT 1 Somalaraju Sateesh Kumar Raju 700628655 1. Fourth amendment of United States Constitution protects people from being undergone unwarranted searches and prevent their things from being taken away by authorities without proper authorization. If any government official or agent want to search an individual or their belongings, they should have proper reason to do that and get permission from the judge. Fourth amendment of United States constitution states that it is the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated; and no Warrants shall issue but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. (Fourth Amendment U.S. Constitution, n.d.) The fourth amendment was proposed on September 25th, 1789 along with eleven other amendments and ratified in 1791 by three fourths of the state legislatures. (Bill of Rights Transcript) 2. For a police officer to search a car, he should reasonably believe that passengers might be carrying something. They do not need a warrant because cars are not houses. (Maryland v. Dyson, U.S Sup. Ct. 1999) (Searches and Seizures: The Limitations of the Police, n.d.) If officers have a probable cause to search the car, they can frisk remaining passengers and their belongings also. • 3. Rheumatology Personal Statement One of my earliest memories, is watching a small figure hobble across the stones with disfigured feet and toes. This was my grandmother and as she dragged her body riddled with what I now believe to be rheumatoid arthritis I always wonder how her life might have been changed with proper treatment. Just when I thought Internal Medicine was my field, I was introduced to Rheumatology. It was during my intern year when working in the Rheumatology Clinic. The core of my initial attraction was the very proximity between Rheumatology and IM. Even as the mode of treatment hinged on working with inherent uncertainty and innate complexity, you also needed to turn to IM fundamentals to determine a diagnosis. Moreover, I found myself highly intrigued ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In that osteoporosis is a huge societal problem, causing a large number of fractures in the elderly population and thus leading to a poor quality of life and worse, it was clear that education of healthcare professionals was a must. Since the USPSTF guidelines state that all women over age 65 should get dexa scans to screen for osteoporosis and start on appropriate therapy to prevent these fractures, it soon became clear that in our resident run outpatient clinics we were doing a very poor job in this area. As such, with two colleagues, we designed an intervention protocol based on provider education on osteoporosis for all residents, attendings, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Succinctly, the intervention increased the rate of dexa scan ordering by 34% and this trial is now in its second phase. There have been other equally important turning points to date. In my rotation at Georgetown, I sought to explore the field of rheumatology at a tertiary level and in doing so, gained experience in common autoimmune conditions and some rare ones as well all which served to solidify my interest in the field. One of the most pleasant aspects of my duties at Georgetown was the opportunity to work with children. In taking pediatric rheumatology consults, I realized that as a rheumatologist I may be able to care for patients of all age groups, leading to an interesting and highly diversified ... • 4. Federal Government Expansion of Authority Introduction The role of the institution has grown tremendously over the centuries ever since the founders of the United States desired a Federal Government with limited powers whose aim was primarily concerned with promoting the civil liberty of the Americans. According to Savage (2008), during the reign of George Washington, the federal bureaucracy had only three cabinet departments; however, the federal government has since grown not only to more than eight cabinet departments, but also with other numerous bureaus, agencies, government authorities, administrations, and corporations. Between the periods of independence and the civil war, the federal government performed limited duties with regards to the daily lives of the American ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From this point on, the influence of the interest groups has been great within the political circles of the occupants of the white house. Another example of the increasing expansion of the Federal Government was evident in the passage of the Antitrust Act. Prior to the enactment of the Antitrust Laws in 1890, the Federal Government had created the Interstate Commerce Commission in 1887 that was supposed to curtail the autonomy of the local and state governments in supervising businesses (Holcombe, 1996). While these two laws were important in the Federal Government s increased involvement in the daily lives of the American people, perhaps it was Sherman Antitrust Act of 1890 that clearly demonstrated the increasing expansion of the federal authority in an unprecedented way. The enactment of the Antitrust Act was prompted by the need to protect the public from the exploitation of businesses and business owners. In other words, through the Antitrust Act, the Federal Government hoped that it would limit the economic powers enjoyed by businesses. While the enforcement of the laws may have taken a little longer (Holcombe, 1996), the passage of the law in itself was a pointer that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Stuart is millionaire digital entrepreneur and co founder of the Six Figure Mentors (SFM) and Digital Experts Academy (DEA), a Premier Business and Entrepreneur Online Education Service and one of the fastest growing exclusive private communities on the internet today. People tend to approach Stuart with a question like this, Stuart, I m thinking of getting started online. I want to live the internet lifestyle. I want to create my digital empire, but I just don t know what sort of products to create? What they re saying is that they ve been looking in the market place and can see there s a variety of programs out there to make money with affiliate marketing online. The question is usually, Can you recommend any of the programs out there? or What types of products shall I be selling? The mistake people often make when they first get started online is that they look for affiliate programs that have the highest commission payouts or are quite low cost. The reason for this is that they think that these are going to be the easiest products to sell because of their low cost. They then go and sign up to any old affiliate program and go out and start trying to make affiliate commissions. The problem with this is that so often people are not that passionate or bothered about the products they are selling. I will tell you this straight no course, training ... • 8. The Impact Of Political Change On Russia How significant was war in bringing about political change in Russia in the year 1856 1964? War had a huge political impact on Russia from 1856 to 1964, but it was not the only factor that brought about political change. Political change was influenced by many aspects. A big part of what brought about political change was the different wars that took place which included; The Crimean war of 1853, The Russo Japanese war of 1904 and lastly the First World War that began in 1914. These Wars were all significant in motivating political change for Russia from the years 1856 to 1964, but again they cannot be seen as the only factor which had led to a political turning point. Reforming leaders such as Alexander II, Nicholas II, Stalin and Khrushchev all played significantly big roles in also bringing about some political change for Russia. Although events such as War and the acts of leaders did accelerate political change for Russia, we must not forget the impact that Revolutionary movements such as the Murder of Alexander II and the Bolsheviks revolution had. The Crimean war of 1853 1856 was fought at Crimean Peninsula, where Russia was fighting mainly against Britain, France and the Ottoman Empire. The war was known as a long bloody war, as a result of poor organisation, leadership and communication of both Russia and the allies. Different species had evolved from their ancestral and were not created in their present forms (Darwin, 1859). Even it involves only change in a single base, whether it be insertion, deletion or substitution the effects are significant. The severity of the frame shift depends on how far down the DNA base sequence the mutation occurs (Crick, 1961). It gives rise to the changes in genotype and therefore different phenotype will be expressed. Sometimes mutations can occur in noncoding proteins region and bring no effect to the phenotypic characteristic. This is known as neutral variation. Mutation is a random and spontaneous process during DNA duplication. The formation of a harmful protein may be disadvantageous to the organism. Selection pressure will remove these alleles and it will not be passed on the next generations. On rare occasion, a mutant allele brings advantage to the bearer by making it better adapted to the environment thus increasing the reproductive success. For example, Patagona gigas living in Andean Highlands, an oxygen poor region in South Africa which is 16,000 feet above sea level, experienced identical mutation independently and not by interbreeding. The mutation change their haemoglobin gene make it easier for oxygen to bind (Projecto Garcia, 2013). Hence high altitude hummingbirds have adaptive oxygen binding traits to live in higher elevation zone. Significance of variation within species Wide combinations of alleles from ... The Importance Of Intercultural Dialogue In Canada Multi culturalism pervades Canada as a nation, a predominately immigrant driven and sustained country that seems at times to indicate overtly and in part covert inferences from those who slip through the cycle of immigration without the opportunity of engaging and by extension impacting the conversation on intercultural dialogue in Canada. One can cite that majority of Canada s population is comprised of diverse ethnic and cultural background of immigrants yet the term visible minority has been harnessed to dichotomize its immigrant community, bit of oxymoron possibly. Luzviminda, an extremely creative expression of dialogue between Canada and the various ethnicities that seek to improve or enrich there lives and those of there love ones. Its epitomizes another avenue of communicative osmosis of cultures that s enhances and penetrates the social, political and cultural platform from which they initiate and exchange dialogue. I cannot negate the that fact, while Canada frames the space for such migration to be possible for immigrant population, it goes without say that the benefit is dual in nature. Canada s socio economic paradigm is by virtue very much at a perpetual advantage as a result of its expeditious growth from the immigrant community. Luzvinminda, stands as a representation of this intercultural dialogue. There are several different ways that human service professionals can accomplish this. We must make sure that we keep updated contact information like phone numbers, addresses and email addresses for each client so that they can be reached. An appointment can be set up for the client to come into the office and then the human service professional can inform the client about the types of services available and the referrals that will be made. To track the success of the referral a case manager can call the client or the agency to check in. • 18. What Is The Situationist Perspective In Lord Of The Flies Dr. Zimbardo uses a situationist perspective on the ways through which anti social behavior is understood, treated and prevented. This view contrasts with the traditional dispositional perspective, which locates evil within individual predispositions and looks at a person s internal factors and traits. The situationist perspective is different in that, unlike the dispositional perspective, it often uses experimental and laboratory research to demonstrate vital phenomena, whereas other perspectives may only use archival or correlational data to suggest such answers. The main example that illustrates through experimental research and social analysis is the ease by which ordinary, good people are induced into behaving in evil ways. ... We live in a world cloaked with evil; it is ironic how humans are capable of committing the most heroic, selfless acts and also the most vile and horrific ones. Lord of the Flies and the Psychology of Deindividuation This section is mainly about The Lord of the Flies by William Golding and how it illustrates that one s external physical appearance can lead to a tremendous change in one s mental state. It is really interesting how in the book, once the boys get over the initial moral dilemma of whether to kill a pig and live or whether to let the pig live and die themselves, they have no problem with killing pigs. With every killing, the death of the pig seems to become more brutal and demoralizing. At one point, they even impale the pig with a stick in the anus, proclaiming their deed in horrific valor. This goes back to sexual aggression because it can be viewed as the raping and killing of a female pig. I can justify the gradual ease of killing pigs with an example. My friend, who goes hunting often, told me about how he can manage to kill a dear without feeling bad inside. He said that the actual killing is only hard the first time and that the other times, it is relatively easy because one simply stops thinking about it. One thinks about the deer as the prey, not as an innocent animal minding its own business. As for the experiment with the deindividuated and individuated women, it seems to make a lot of sense ... Back then, pale, plump people were seen as more beautiful than skinny, tanned people. Back then, pale skin and a little bit of extra blubber meant that someone had enough money that they could stay inside and get enough to eat. Now, it seems that the opposite is true. Healthy food is more expensive than the alternatives such as McDonald s. Having tan skin may mean that a person has enough money to go lay in a coffin looking thing, get an artificial sunburn, and get nice leathery skin. Who doesn t like leathery skin? • 27. Connectivity And Topology Of Wireless Networks Connectivity and topology control: Some approaches tried to improve the system reliability by carefully designing the connectivity or topology of wireless networks. Paper [50] addresses the problem of fault tolerant deployment of wireless ad hoc networks. Based on the pre assumed transmission range, the authors propose a scheme to calculate the probability that a given network is k connected. Based on the intensive deployment, the redundant sensor nodes are used to cope the random working nodes failure. Following the similar idea, a distributed algorithm is proposed in [52]. By deploying calculated necessary number of extra nodes in the given network, the objective of fault tolerant topology control can be achieved. However, due to the limited space and cost constraint, adding redundant nodes to a deployed WSN may not always be an acceptable solution. Another fault tolerant topology control algorithm is presented by Li and Hou in [53], in which a spanning subgraph is computed by each node. If a pair of vertices is not k connected, an extra edge will be added between these two vertices. The authors further prove that the resultant global network is k connected. In [54], by considering the mobility of nodes, the author shows the mobility resilient topology control protocols. The author classifies the topology control protocols into two types. 1) In this case, the topology is built and maintained by each node based on its own knowledge about its neighbors. Is your child losing sleep because of how much schoolwork they have? Have you noticed your child s grades have been suffering? Well maybe you are on to something. Some kids may say that homework takes away their free time, or the school gives so much that it causes insane amounts of stress for them, and homework can even cause kids to get worse grades. These symptoms are all linked to too much schoolwork. You know when you hear your kid say that all they do is homework, and you just roll your eyes? Some schools give so much work that even the most focused kids cannot seem to get it done with time to spare. This means that children are spending all their time on work. This does not leave any time for themselves. As a kid, I know how important time to ourselves is. That time can allow us to unwind and play with friends. If a child does not have enough free time, they may become grumpy or irritable. This can cause them to not focus, which may lead to getting less work done. Excessive amounts of schoolwork can even cause kids to become so stressed that they give up. This is one of the worst things that could happen. Researchers have discovered that when children spend too much time on homework, they experience extreme stress and different health problems. If a child is over stressed, they will start to have a high temper. This can happen when someone is working so hard, they build up so much stress. If someone tries to talk to them, they might snap and become extremely angry because they were interrupted. They may also start to not care about their grades, or about what they do with friends. Too much homework can cause family stress. Some parents try to help their kids with work. They may not know how to do the work themselves, or have the time and energy after working all day. This will cause stress, not only for the parents, but also for the kids. If the parents do not understand the work, they cannot help their kids understand it. Children also may not be able to spend time with their friends and family because they are spending too much time working. When you were a kid, you probably played with your friends after homework. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Naturally, as with every innovation, it will take to adapt and I have to emphasis that the rules must be respected where necessary to ensure the safety of everyone, especially the most vuinerable among us, pedestrians and cyclist! Bertrand Delanoe, Mayor of Paris. (Quoted shortly after the inauguration of the Vélib system, July 2007.) According to his inauguration, the Vélib system appoints the need of both personalized and mobility and low carbon solutions for urban transport passenger system. The main modal for this system is to provide low environments that reduce the impact of mobility service for large cities and urban centers. For this application, Vélib use Cyclocity as the basic ideas to be user friendly as possible. The main components of the system are the bike, the stations where they are attached and the software that can track the bikes journey and the rental time of each journey made. One of the common rationales cited by bike programs is that they provide an effective substitute for at least some of the large numbers of short distance trips made by cars in urban areas, often with only one person in the car. Such trips make poor use of scarce public resources, and of course carry with them a heavy environmental burden. If many passengers tend to use private vehicle, this objective cannot be achieved. However Paris has been established as one of the country that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. Summary Of The Sorrows Of Young Werther The human race is but a monotonous affair. Most of them labour the greater part of their time for mere subsistence; and the scanty portion of freedom which remains to them so troubles them that they use every exertion to get rid of it. Oh, the destiny of man! Werther s offhanded comment in The Sorrows of Young Werther provides insight on how people perceive work and freedom during his time, and how that relates to the way modern society perceives it as well. People like to assume society has progressed in many ways in the last 200 years, but in some ways, habits have not changed much. The working and recreational habits of the middle class man as revealed through Sorrows are not far removed from the way college students and working adults treat the same time. Werther makes a point of saying that the people he meets in Walheim are like the type one would meet everywhere. Much of their time is spent working for survival, whether that be in a more gentleman like job or as simple as farming. Some, like Werther, are exempt from this sort of life style because of their status. He, like Lotte and Albert, are upper middle class, typically because of the status of their parents. In the 1700 s, it was difficult for most people not already around that social range to suddenly rise up into it. Due to changing ideas concerning social hierarchies and the increased freedom in colonies slowly wore down this well established barrier, but it had not yet broken down to the point it is ... • 44. The Importance Of Executive Agreements In Foreign Policy In foreign policy, there are two types of executive agreements, treaties and international agreements or executive agreements. The president is able to create a treaty with another country but needs two thirds of the U.S. Senates advice and consent for the treaty to pass. Joint possession of the power in question, by the President and Senate, would afford a greater prospect of security than the separate possession of it by either of them (Milkis and Nelson, 2016). The Constitution believed that it would be safer for the United States if both the executive and legislative branches worked together to create treaties. An example of a treaty is the Jay Treaty. The Jay Treat was between the United States and Great Britain, but there were some issues with this treaty. Other politicians and citizens did not like what the treaty stated. They believed the Jay Treat unconstitutionally undermined the separate of powers (Demmer, 2015). But they could not take any action because senate already gave the two thirds approval. For treaties, Congress has the power to accept or decline what the president writes. The Constitution of the United States, has empowered Congress, and not the president (Demmer, 2015). This means Congress has more power in leading foreign policy. Then there is the executive agreement which brought into force with respect to the United States on a constitutional basis other than with the advice and consent of Senate ( Treaty vs. Executive Agreement ). ... • 45. The Mining Industry And Its Effects On The Environment 1. INTRODUCTION The world as we know it, is continuously evolving. With an increase in population, there exists a great deal of economic and social needs. The earth is enriched with a vast of diverse precious minerals which play a significant role in our lives. These minerals are used in many sectors such as medicine, construction, agriculture etc. To extract these precious minerals from the earth s crust, extensive mining operations are carried out daily. These operations comprise drilling and blasting of ores to attain the minerals. During these operations great harm and damage is being done on the environment. The mining industry is by far the most influential industry with regards to setting a country s economy in motion. Different mines extract different minerals from coal to diamond and gold. These resources are embedded within ores which have to be drilled and blasted to be extracted. After retracting the resources the waste rock and waste that is detached from the ore during processing, is dumped away from the pit onto a surface waste dump which is commonly known as mine tailings. Mine tailings are the largest mine wastes on earth and can reach several hundred meters in elevation. This type of waste results to countless environmental effects. Excluding water, concrete is the mostly used material on earth. It is considered as the most important material in the Building Environment due to its extensive usage in the construction industry. • 46. What Is Social Cohesion Social cohesion refers to setting the correct mind set of the people to bond together regardless of religion and race. Social cohesion plays an important role in a country as it brings peace and harmony to the people. When there is social cohesion in a country, it was said that the people often share the same beliefs and values. However, it is not necessary that their lifestyles and beliefs have to be exactly the same. For example, in relation to religion, it is possible that the people can pray to the individual gods they believe rather than everyone in the community to be part of the same beliefs. It is what they referred to as a social contract. A social contract defines as the understanding of the people in a society that is able to keep up the certain standard for the well being of the whole society. • 47. The Ebola Virus The Ebola Virus A virus is an ultramicroscopic infectious organism that, having no independent metabolic activity, can replicate only within a cell of another host organism. A virus consists of a core of nucleic acid, either RNA or DNA, surrounded by a coating of antigenic protein and sometimes a lipid layer surrounds it as well. The virus provides the genetic code for replication, and the host cell provides the necessary energy and raw materials. There are more than 200 viruses that are know to cause disease in humans. The Ebola virus, which dates back to 1976, has four strains each from a different geographic area, but all give their victims the same painful, often lethal symptoms. The center of the epidemic in Zaire involved a missionary hospital where they reused needles and syringes without sterilization. Most of the staff of the hospital got sick and died. This outbreak infected 318 with a death rate of 93% (Le Guenno et al. 1271). Another fatal case was reported one year later in Zaire but nothing major ever became of it. The most recent case recorded was the infamous breakout in Kikwit, Zaire. This breakout had the world in an uproar about the possibility of this virus spreading out globally. This outbreak appeared to have started with a patient who had surgery in Kikwit on April 10, 1995. Members of the surgical team then developed symptoms similar to those of a viral hemorrhagic fever disease (Ebola Info. from the CDC 2). From there, the disease spread to more than 300 others. The most frequent symptoms at the onset were fever (94%), diarrhea (80%), and server weakness (74%); other symptoms included dysphagia (41%) and hiccups (15%). Clinical signs of bleeding occurred in 38% of cases (JAMA 274: 373). The World Heath Organization declared on August 24, 1995 that the outbreak of Ebola Zaire in Kikwit was officially over after killing 244 of its 315 known victims ( Ebola Outbreak Officially Over 1). This outbreak had a rate of death over 75%. Ebola Sudan also occurred in 1976 about the same time as Ebola Zaire. The number of cases was 284 with a death rate of 53% (Le ... • 48. Theme Of Baptism In To Kill A Mockingbird Connection: The biblical story, Jonah and the Whale, is an example of Baptism. God gave Jonah a job, but he set off in another direction. Suddenly, there was a storm. The boat was tossing in the middle of the sea. No one on the boat knew what to do. Jonah knew that the storm was because of him. God was with him. Everyone prayed for forgiveness and they threw Johan into the water. The storm immediately stopped. God heard Jonah s prayers and sent a fish to rescue him. Jonah lived in the fish s stomach for three days. He prayed to God for help. When it was safe, the fish spit Jonah out onto the land. Jonah was cleansed when he returned back to the land. Being tossed into the water was symbolic. He was reborn after the incident. Connection: In this section, Foster talks about the importance of geography. It can define a character. An example of when geography defines a character is in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. The character Boo Radley s house is described as a scary, threatening place. The reader infers the that the character who lives in the house is also scary and someone to avoid. The mysterious Boo Radley keeps the reader engaged throughout the book, but by the end we learn that he is not as mean as we originally believed. Connection: Pure originality is impossible when writing. When it comes to fairytales, ideas seem to often overlap. Often times in fairytales characters good overcomes evil. This is true for Aladdin, Cinderella, and Snow White. In Aladdin, Jazmine and Aladdin fall in love, but since Aladdin is not a prince, he cannot marry Jazime. When he discovers the Genie, he turns himself into a prince. In return, Jafar tries everything to kill Aladdin so he can marry Jazmine for her wealth. Ultimately, Jafar s behavior catches up to him and he loses his freedom, as he is trapped in a lamp. Connection: A character s physical qualities tell the reader a lot about the character. In Frankenstein, the creature s deformity depicts his nature. He is scary, powerful, and cunning. He acts out of isolation. People are afraid of him and beat him, so he is forced to retreat to places where he cannot be seen by people. He is only able to come out at night. His deformity dictates how other ...
