An electric circuit is a path in which electrons from a voltage or current source flow. The point where those electrons enter an electrical circuit is called the "source" of electrons.
The Over and Under Voltage protection circuit can protect electrical appliance from in the condition of power surges.
The project theme was to design an economical and efficient power protection circuit that could be capable of safely isolating the power of machine incase of power surges in mains.
A 30mV input battery-less power management systemjournalBEEI
This paper presents a fully-integrated on chip battery-less power management system through energy harvesting circuit developed in a 130nm CMOS process. A 30mV input voltage from a TEG is able to be boosted by the proposed Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) voltage booster and a dynamic closed loop power management to a regulated 1.2V. Waste body heat is harvested through Thermoelectric energy harvesting to power up low power devices such as Wireless Body Area Network. A significant finding where 1 Degree Celsius thermal difference produces a minimum 30mV is able to be boosted to 1.2V. Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM) digital control oscillator is the key component for the gate control of the proposed voltage booster. Radio Frequency (RF) rectifier is utilized to act as a start-up mechanism for voltage booster and power up the low voltage closed loop power management circuit. The digitally control oscillator and comparator are able to operate at low voltage 600mV which are powered up by a RF rectifier, and thus to kick-start the voltage booster.
Combined Efficiency Calculation of Bismuth Telluride and Lead Telluride in Th...IJMERJOURNAL
Abstract:- The heat rejected from an internal combustion engine is dumped into the atmosphere as waste heat. If this waste heat energy is tapped and converted into usable energy, the overall efficiency of an engine can be improved. The percentage of energy rejected to the environment through exhaust gas is approximately 30-40%.The thermoelectric generators are used for power generation . Thermoelectric modules which are used in thermoelectric generators are solid state devices that are used to convert thermal energy from a temperature gradient to electrical energy and it works on basic principle of Seebeck effect. The objective of this project is to include fin effect to increase cooling rate , to reduce the temperature by increasing the temperature difference and to use long fin and avoid accumulation of heat in between fins . The TEG system is directly connected to the exhaust pipe and the amount of electricity generated by the thermoelectric material is directly proportional to their heated area . The materials used in TEG are Bi2Te3 - Bismuth Telluride and PbTe - Lead Telluride . Bi2Te3 module TEG is highly efficient in room temperature , but heat withstanding capacity of Bi2Te3 is less than PbTe.The combination of these thermoelectric materials are used for better efficiency . The testing is done for above conditions and experimental results with this setup are performed and presented.
IjEVOLUTION OF POWER SUPPLY AND ITS APPLICATION TO ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC ...IAEME Publication
Electricity can be produced using chemical effect where the movement of ions constitutes a flow of current through the electrolyte. Electrochemical cells are used as storage cells where chemical energy can be converted into electrical energy. The most efficient and widely used method for the generation of electricity is based on the laws of Electromagnetic Induction. According to this law electromotive force is induced in a conductor whenever the conductor cuts across magnetic lines of flux. The invention of the Diode Valve in 1904 and the invention of the triode valve in 1906 and their largescale production from 1920 onwards helped to manufacture electronic products and instruments. The invention of the galena-based Cat’s whisker detector in 1906 was the milestone of manufacturing crystal radio receivers. Cuprous oxide rectifier was invented in 1926 and was used for the rectification of power supply frequencies. Selenium rectifier was invented in 1933 and it was also used for the rectification of power frequencies but selenium rectifier was more efficient and was best in low-voltage, heavy current applications. Commercial manufacturing of germanium crystal diode was started in 1946. Then invention of the bipolar junction transistor in 1948 had replaced the valves because of low power, low cost, small size and long-lasting. Electrical products are generally operated from the mains power supply. But electronic products are operated by D.C supply and nowadays most of the communication devices are designed to be operated by the low-watt power supply. Scientists and researchers are developing low power, low heat dissipation, low dropout, miniature and energy harvesting efficient power supply.
HEAT ABSORPTION IN FLUID USING INDUCTION HEATING TECHNOLOGYelelijjournal
Induction heating (IH) is a technique of heating electrically conducting materials by the application of electromagnetic induction. The heat generated in the object using eddy current itself in the object , instead of by an external heat source via heat conduction. This technique obeys contactless heating. Using this technique objects can be heated very rapidly. Ferromagnetic material and its alloys like iron, stainless steel responds best to induction heating. This technique has good efficiency up to 94%. This technique is in practice at industries for annealing, brazing, welding, melting of metals. Due to the large evolution in technology this technique became much popular food processing at day to day life.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
2. A circuit consists of: SUPPLY A topic by itself LOAD CONTROL PROTECTION CONNECTING CABLES 8/9/2011 Revision02 2
3. Load We want many forms of energy to make our lives easier. The load in a circuit converts electrical energy to: heat magnetic chemical This is then used to serve us. Sometimes converted again: a motor converts magnetic to mechanical 8/9/2011 Revision02 3
4. We need to control this conversion. Discuss why using these examples: lights fridge stove the trigger on the MIG starter motor in a car indicators the volume of a radio a coal conveyor lift 8/9/2011 Revision02 4 Control
5. The cables need to be big enough to carry the current. A cable will heat when current flows through it. H = I2Rt A thin cable has a higher resistance, and a smaller surface area reducing the effective cooling. A larger cable has less resistance (less heat) and improved cooling. The insulation is affected at relatively low temperatures. 8/9/2011 Revision02 5 Cables
6. We need to consider protection as: protection of equipment protection of people The protection of equipment is achieved using either: fuses circuit breakers A common protection of people is an RCD. (discussed in safety) 8/9/2011 Revision02 6 Protection
7. Overload causes heating. Short duration overloads are not a problem. Longer duration overloads cause heat build up, and insulation failure. Short Circuits are always a problem, even short duration. The strong magnetic fields around the conductors produce high forces and stress. 8/9/2011 Revision02 7 Over current
