This document discusses the development and eruption of primary and permanent teeth. It provides details on the chronology of tooth development, such as the order and average ages of eruption. Tooth development begins in utero, with primary teeth fully formed by age 3 and complete primary dentition by 30 months. The transitional mixed dentition period begins around age 6 with the eruption of the first permanent molars. The permanent dentition is fully developed by the late teens to early twenties. Understanding tooth development and eruption has applications in clinical practice, forensics, anthropology and more.

It is a presentation in detail about the strongest structure of the oral cavity "ENAMEL". It is a simple topic but people find it difficult to learn about it. I hope my presentation is a simple method to learn about it. I would like to thank my professors for assign me this project and i learn't a lot from it and still learning my basics daily.
Amelogenesis is the formation of enamel. During amelogenesis, the ameloblast (enamel-forming cells) undergo various stages i.e the life cycle of ameloblast.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

3. During infancy dental age is estimated by
1. No. of teeth present in the oral cavity
2. Stages of eruption of teeth
3. Formation of crowns & roots of the teeth at each
chronological age
During the period of mixed dentition , it is
assessed on the basis of
1. Erupted teeth present
2. The amount of resorption of the roots of
the primary teeth
3.The amount of development & presence of
permanent teeth
www.indiandentalacademy.com
4. Eruption : it is a process by which tooth moves within
the jaw bones, comes out into the oral cavity & comes
up to the occlusal contact & maintains its clinical position
or
continuous tooth movement from the dental bud to
occlusal contact
Clinical considerations
• Diagnosis & management of most disorders
involving the size, shape, number, arrangement of teeth
• Malformations : enamel hypoplasia
www.indiandentalacademy.com
5. Development of primary teeth
Enamel organs do not all develop at the same
rate resulting in different times of eruption
for different groups of teeth
Not all the primary teeth are lost at the same time
Primary dentition is completely formed about the
age of 3
Calcification of the primary teeth begins in utero - 13
-16 weeks postfertilization
Primary tooth crown formation – 2-3 years from initial
calcification to root completion.
Crown formation of primary teeth continues after birth
3 months – CI, 4 months – LI, 7 months – 1 M
8.5 months – C, 10.5 months – 2M

12. Primary dentition is completed – 30 months or second
primary molars in occlusion
No changes from about 30 months – 6yrs of age
Decidiuous teeth are most important during first years of
greatest physical & mental development
Important factors in the intiation & development of
abnormal occlusion
1. Insufficient space
2. Early loss of decidiuous teeth
3. Overretention of decidiuous teeth
4. Congenital absence of teeth
5. Dental anamolies
www.indiandentalacademy.com
13. Transitional ( Mixed)dention
period
• First transition dentition begins with eruption of
mandibular first permanent molars
• Transition ends with loss of lost of last primary teeth at about
the age of 12 yrs
• Transition period lasts – 6 - 7yrs
• Eruptive movements of permanent teeth begin after crown
completion.
• During eruption, permanent mandibular first molars is guided
by the distal surface of second primary molar
www.indiandentalacademy.com
15. Permanent dentition
Initiation of the formation of permanent dentition takes place
in 3 steps
1. CI, LI, C, M1 – 1st yr
2. premolars & second molars – 2-4 yr
3. Third molars – 5-7 yrs
First molars are the first teeth of permanent dentition to
emerge through the gingiva
First molars often called – „ 6 years molars‟
They emerge distal to the decidiuous second molar
Second permanent tooth to emerge – CI
Permanent mandibular CI erupts before the maxillary CI
www.indiandentalacademy.com
17. Ligual to the roots of decidiuous inscisors are the follicles
of the developing incisors & canines
Developing premolars are within the bifurcation of primary
molar roots
Permanent incisors, Canines& Premolars are called
Succedaneous teeth.
After mandibular CI, LI erupts soon followed by maxillary
CI
Maxillary LI erupts after about a year
Premolars follow the maxillary laterals in sequence at the
age of 10 - 11 yrs
Mandibular canines appear at the same time
After 1yr second premolar erupt & the maxilary canine follow
www.indiandentalacademy.com
18. Second molars erupt at the age of about 12 yrs
Second molars are called as “ 12 year molars”
Third molar erupt at the age of 17 –25 yrs
