The Role Of Melting Pot In America
In America there are a multitude of people that live, and are even more people migrating by the years.
Back in the earlier years of American society, the country probably would have been considered a
melting pot by most people, as the years gone by the technology, the people, and the country as a
whole has evolved becoming more diverse, making it more of a tossed salad. A few of the many things
that have been diversified in this country are the amount of races living here, the different religions,
and also the plethora of type s food. First, with the amounts of races that the United States has, many
people would likely refer it as a melting pot. While regarding the amount of races that are making a
living and or moving to the United States; I could be here all day trying to list them all. But a few of
the races are; Caucasian, African American, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Canadian, and many more
that migrate from all corners of the world. Now with all of these races together in working toward a
common goal, people would think that as a melting pot. I believe if looking closer people play many
different roles making it more like a tossed salad. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reasoning behind that is most countries have one religion or god that everyone in the country most

you would like to practice. Many people practice many different religions such as; Judaism,
Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and many more. Continuing then many of the religions have many

Mrs. Dalloway
I. Mrs. Dalloway, by Virginia Woolf, was published on May 14, 1925 in London, England. The novel
follows Clarissa Dalloway and a variety of other characters throughout the span of one day in their
lives in 1923 London. Woolf utilizes a narrative method of writing. With the novel s structure, the
narrator possesses the ability to move inside of a character s mind and compose her thoughts and
emotions immediately as events occur throughout the day. The novel s main character, Clarissa, is a
middle aged woman who belongs to the upper middle class in society and is well married to a Member
of Parliament Richard Dalloway. Clarissa s day is full of arrangements for a dinner party she plans to
host that evening. During the novel, numerous other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rather than hold lengthy conversations between characters, she frequently writes only of small talk
and leaves more serious topics to be recited in an individual s exclusive thoughts. One of her purposes
in writing the novel is to expose the hypocrisy of society. The characters in the novel range from
eccentric acquaintances to extravagant lords and ladies to vindictive tutors to suicidal veterans. One
example of this theme occurs when Rezia and Septimus attempt to settle down in the park. When the
airplane soars overhead, she writes, Tears ran down his cheeks (Woolf 21). While one may mistake
this as joy or, at worst, sorrow over the recent war, Woolf gives the reality of the action beneath the
surface, stating, They are signaling to me... this exquisite beauty... but he would not go mad. He would
see no more (21). While Septimus dwindles on the brink of insanity, Rezia chatters away about nature,
unaware of the mess resting beside her. Septimus portrays the appearance of one man yet expresses an
entirely new persona through his contemplations. Another instance of the theme transpires when Miss
Kilman and Clarissa wait for Elizabeth to retrieve her gloves before going shopping. Clarissa and
Kilman both make attempts at small talk. However, both give their attentions to a mutual disgust of
each other. Clarissa simply asks if Kilman is taking Elizabeth to the stores. Kilman replies dryly, but

Witchcraft in Contemporary African Society Essays
I. INTRODUCTION
The Enlightenment and the emerging of modern rationalism have paved the way to a worldview where
the suspicion of witchcraft is not needed to explain the mysterious phenomena of this world. This is
not the case in Africa. The belief in the existence of witches, evil persons who are able to harm others
by using mystical powers, is part of the common cultural knowledge. Samuel Waje Kunhiyop states,
Almost all African societies believe in witchcraft in one form or another. Belief in witchcraft is the
traditional way of explaining the ultimate cause of evil, misfortune or death. The African worldview is
holistic. In this perception, things do not just happen. What happens, either good or bad, is traced back
to human action, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aylward Shorter adds It is the image of unrepentant human wickedness. John S. Mbiti also concur
with Shorter and Magesa, he states Witchcraft are the greatest enemies of society. Magesa thought the
English term is misleading in a sense that In Africa, it is not a craft but the mysterious power of evil
potentially in every human being that manifests itself in all areas of life society, politics, economy,
religion, etc.
When something bad happens, people hardly ask how it occurred but who did it. It is believed that
every misfortune is caused by humans or spirits. There might be exceptions when it comes to global
catastrophes, but personal or family problems are always caused by someone. If the individual or the
clan cannot find personal faults that would justify a correction from the ancestors, witchcraft is
suspected. The offender is someone known because these powers do not function anonymously. There
has to be contact between the witch and the victim.
Characteristics of a Witch
Shorter defines witchcraft as the inborn power to harm others secretly and unjustifiably. This mean,
there is no reason, it shows that witches harm randomly because they are driven to do so. According to
Magesa, they operate psychically and project from the mind their powers on the victim. There is no
rite preformed or spell uttered. Magesa draw a dichotomy between a sorcerer and a witch thereby
states, The use

How Did The Tea Act Angered The Most During The American...
Have you ever wondered what acts angered the colonists most during the American Revolution?
During this time, the American Revolution made colonists want to have independence. After every act
Parliament passed, it made the courage of independence more wanted to the colonists. The acts that
mostly made the colonists want independence were the Tea Act, Coercive Act, and The Stamp Act.
The Tea Act angered, and led the colonists wanting independence because the East India Company
made their tea really cheap and the British tea stayed expensive as it was before. Parliament made the
East India Company tea really cheap, so the colonists would buy their tea, and make the East India
Company gain more money from all the tea bought from the colonists. The colonists thought that was
unfair so they dumped all eighteen million pounds of tea into the Boston Harbor. This was ... Show

The Tea Act, Coercive Act, and Stamp Act mostly made the colonists angered, and want

cheap tea the colonists had to buy. The Coercive Act closed the Boston Harbor, made the colonists pay
for the lost tea from the Boston Tea Party, let soldiers barge into their homes, and stay as long as they
wanted to. The Stamp Act gave a huge tax on anything that had to due with paper. This is why the Tea

Essay about Omer Fast vs. Gary Hill Video Artist
For my final I have selected Omer Fast CNN Concatenated and Gary Hill Incidence of Catastrophe
from the videos screened in class this semester. The experience from watching both Fast Hill video
was very interesting in the way how memory was mediated. These two videos used personal, and
recollection of memory, but both very far apart in how memory is conceived in their work. I will give
my views on how each video artist applied their problem of memory in the following.
In CNN Concatenated, Fast creates a monologue into a collage of different news reporters used to
narrate something they normally wouldn t read off a teleprompter. The video is edited precisely by
mixing each reporter word for word to deliver a message. A message ... Show more content on

I remember being in the ICU room on morphine to ease the intense pain not knowing that my life was
hanging by a thread. They didn t want to tell me, but it hit me after noticing that my family members
where coming and going in pairs holding back tears. Thinking about that message, I was scared at that
time but didn t want my family to notice. It was hard for me to accept so I prayed and asked if it s my
time, take me, if not, heal me. So, yeah the message sort of hit home in that manner.
Hill s Incidence of Catastrophe, was very different from what I experienced in Fast video. Hill made
himself the protagonist from the novel Thomas The Obscure by Maurice Blanchot. Hill s idea on this
video derived from what he read and recreated the story himself based on personal memory. I felt the
protagonist in the video was trapped in a bad dream and consumed by the words from the novel. There
where scenes where he found himself running frantically through the woods giving me the impression
he was trying to escape something or someone. He was attached to the novel so much that his
presence at the dinner table felt unwelcomed that everybody stopped talking to each other. It was
complicated understanding how everybody became insane near the end. The video ends with the
protagonist laying down in the fetal position naked in his own excrement and mumbling unrecognized
words.
Both videos where very different

THE THEMES OF THE TEXT ARE; 1. The injustice of existence 2. Changing ideas of social class in
Victorian England 3. Men dominating women 1. The injustice of existence: Unfairness dominates the
lives of Tess and her family to such an extent that it begins to seem like a general aspect of human
existence in Tess of the d Urbervilles. Alec was not just to Tess by raping her and subjects her to
serious challenge of live. Destiny also is not in favour of Tess because she revenge by killing Alec
which result in taken her to prison and later hanged for murder. 2. Changing ideas of social class in
Victorian England: Tess of the d Urbervilles presents complex picture of not both the importance of
social class in nineteenth century. England and the difficulty of defining class in any simple way. The
D Urbervilles pass for what the Durbeyfields truly are authentic nobility simply because the
definitions of class have changed. The issue of class confusion even affects the Clare clan, whose most
promising son, Angel, is intent on becoming a farmer and marrying a milkmaid, thus bypassing the
traditional privileges of a Cambridge education was and a parsonage. The three main characters in the
Angel Tess Alec triangle are all strongly marked by confusion regarding their respective social classes,
an issue that is one the main concerns of the novel. 3. Men dominating women: One of the recurrent

The Importance Of The Duty Of Confidentiality
Introduction
The nature of the banker customer relationship is one of agency. Amongst the duties that stem from
this relationship, the bank s duty of confidentiality is clearly an issue of great importance. The focus of
this essay is on the scope and limitations of the bank s duty, both to its customers as to the public. In
order to analyse this it is necessary to firstly consider the idea of duty of confidentiality, Secondly, it is
necessary to study the Court of Appeal s judgement in the case of Tournier. Thirdly, this essay will
take the Jack Committee report into consideration. Lastly, this paper will briefly mention the Banking
Code, it will also discuss whether the principle in Tournier may be outdated and if so, whether it is in
need of a new crystallised self, clearly stating the limits and boundaries of the bank s duties both to the
customer and to the public itself in the form of a statute. To conclude this essay will consider the
future of the duty of confidentiality.

They are labeled the efulefu which in the Igbo language it means worthless, empty men. While there

the gods in the novel. Okonkwo in the beginning of novel is shown as a strong, brave warrior. He

empty men as the others did, the missionaries saw them as if they were all equal and sons of god. The
missionaries did not see them as if they were cowards or weak because in their eyes violence wasn t
an option. That encouraged others to convert into christianity because they were always being silence
and didn t have a say in anything, they were labeled as cowards because they wouldn t want to fight in

The Five Twenty By John Cheever
The short story The Five Forty Eight by John Cheever is a fantastically told story about a mentally ill
woman done wrong by a successful man and how she gets her vengeance. The story is both thrilling
and satisfying. Elements are what make any story what it is, from the complex characters to worry for
and grow with, to the conflict keeping the reader on the edge of their seat, mind racing at how it will
be resolved. All of the elements made this story a good read, but in this case one stands out in
particular. The setting really give this story the excitement and thought provoking substance that could
enthrall anybody. The setting proves to be so important it controls character actions. Everything that
happens is determined on the setting of this story. This literary work is started out with a setting of
New York on a rainy, gloomy day. New York is known to be an exciting city that never sleeps, full of
successful people such as Blake, the main character, or people struggling just to get by, like Miss
Dent. The city being so crowded and loud makes it hard for people to really think and calm
themselves down. He noticed now how much louder the rain made the noises of the street... horns
were blowing urgently... The sidewalk was crowded... he wondered if she was following him.
(Cheever 2) Even on these rainy days the streets are still full of sounds and people. These many noises
give Blake a serious case of paranoia. Blake saw Miss Dent earlier and now the many distractions

Moral Education Essay
Moral education can be described as the guidance and teaching of good behaviour and values. It is
taught to young children in schools, providing them with a sense of politeness and lawfulness. The
critical objective of moral education is to instruct these human values in the students. When defining
moral education we are often inclined to two outwardly opposed perspectives: traditional character
education which is focused on the development of specific kinds of virtuous traits and habits
(Narvaez, 2006) and rational moral education which focuses on moral judgment and reasoning
regarding justice and fairness.
Moral decision making differs in men and women as outlined in the findings of theorists Kohlberg and
Gilligan. Kohlberg had shown that the average female attained a moral judgment rating of stage three

Art in general is undergoing several changes with artists beginning to think about spatial illusions and
human form. Despite this, the changes seem subtle and understated. This discussion seeks to highlight
the changes that are happening in art and how artists are creating space in the work they do.
For the purposes of this discussion, I select the first image that talks about the difference between the
High Renaissance and the Early Renaissance and how artists are shaping the High Renaissance from
the original early Renaissance. There are a number of ways in which artists of the High Renaissance
are doing differently from the artists of before. From the selected image, tow artists of the current
Renaissance are highlighted; Leonardo and Michelangelo.

There are many ways to define governmentality since there are so many various ways it can be
interpreted. Foucault articulated governmentality as the conduct of conduct , which can be interpreted
as how conduct is controlled or regulated, or calculated attempts to direct human behavior towards
particular ends . When discussing different academics ideas and conceptions of governmentality and
the various ways in which it is utilized, such as the use of knowledge and information or self
regulation, it is usually based on Foucault s original concept of governmentality. Mckee defines
governmentality as a fundamentally political project a way of problematizing life and seeking to act
upon it, which identifies both a territory and means of intervention. What governmentality offers is a
critical approach that doesn t focus on how a good government should operate or how moral the
conduct that arises from governmentality is, instead it merely makes the distinctions between
liberating and repressive power , just as Foucault emphasises the difference between governance and
sovereignty. Governance is the status of things such as economy, space, citizens, etc. which uses
multiform tactics to operate, whereas sovereignty is the adherence to law enforced by law. Lemke

New Public Management Model For The Nonprofit Agency,...
New Public Management and the Role of Nonprofit Organizations: Cultivating the Public Sector
The purpose of this paper is to apply the new public management model to the nonprofit agency,
Hands Across the World. First, an overview of the new public management model is provided.
Second, a brief description of the nonprofit organization, Hands Across the World is provided. Third,
the new public management model is applied to Hands Across the World.
New Public Management Today the new public management (NPM) model is the leading worldview
in the public sector. The political climate and ideology during the 1970s and 1980s served as an
impetus to migrate away from the old public administration approach and implement new policies and
procedures that would be of better service to the public interest and collective good as well as restore
trust and value in the bureaucratic process. Thus, during the mid 1990s, the new public management
worldview was realized to apply common practices used in the private sector to the public sector. The
goal of this approach was to achieve the same level of efficiency found in the private sector and
remove some of the redundancy, lack of transparency, and lack of accountability in bureaucratic
government to better serve the public interest. David Osborne and Ted Gaebler s Reinventing
Government (1992) served as a catalytic novel in the progression of implementing private practices in
the public sector. Under the NPM framework public administrators

Monarch Butterflies Population Decline
The population numbers of the beloved Monarch Butterfly are rapidly decreasing, and scientists are
working hard this September to save the species. Monarch butterflies depend solely on the milkweed
plant to survive. Milkweed, however, has been disappearing like crazy due especially to increased use

of habitat loss, various effects of climate change, and challenges like the drought in California, has
spelled out around a ninety percent population decline for monarchs in the past twenty years.

indicating that Chloe attained hurricane status while the storm was turning sharply westward.
Interaction with Hurricane Doria to the west turned Chloe more toward the northwest on September

Lucinda Ramberg Kinship
Approaching Kinship that Is Not Kinship
Imam Subkhan
Lucinda Ramberg has reignite the kinship studies through Given to the Goddess which had declined
and got less attention from anthropologists in the last two decades. Kinship as a subdiscipline became
increasingly marginal to anthropology partly because its debate had been removed from the actual
lived experiences of kinship (Carsten, 2013). They often failed to apprehend what made kinship such
an important aspect of the experiences of those whose lives were being described. Furthermore, as
Ramberg indicates in her book, anthropological accounts of kinship have all centered their analyses of
human relatedness on the conjugal pair (12) and excluded other categories which do not follow this
assumption.
Ramberg claims that the available methodological tools in anthropology are not able to capture the
complexity of the kin making which is practiced by devadasi, kinship with the goddess, Yellamma.
She argues this form of kin making exceeds: (1) the logic of kinship chart, (2) the liberal ... Show

The kinship system she explains for instance, Devadasis are described, recognized, and related to as
persons who are both women and sons. They are not either women or men, either daughters or sons.
They are both women and sons (198). Their position in natal families as sons does not affect their
embodiment of sex or gender or their recognition as women. In short, devadasis are wives to
Yellamma, sons in their family, fathers to their children, mother s brothers to their sister s children
(206). From these categories, again, Ramberg does not deduce the definition of kinship in her
ethnography. She just notices that the kinship she takes is to be systematic, as structuralist approaches
have (Lévi Strauss 1969), and inventive, as culturalist accounts do (Schneider

Implications Of Wildlife In Wildlife
Wildlife
Introduction
Purpose
I would like to briefly summarize why wildlife is important and I m examining this because it s truly
important that we as people recognize that wildlife plays a big role in how we live.
Problem
Nature is losing its wildlife! The loss can be attributed to two main causes. The first cause is human
interaction. Humans are having too much interference in nature. According to the World Wide
Federation (2017), the forests, swamps, plains, and lakes are being destroyed to make room for roads,
pipelines, and industrial development. These areas serve as the natural habitat for our wildlife.
Without a home, these animals are dying off at record numbers and becoming extinct.
According to Morris (2003), Humans are also killing the animals for food and this choice also
destroys the natural habitat. Many humans are making the choice to catch fish faster than the oceans
can restock. When people choose to destroy these animal s homes, it has a negative effect on the food
chain. When one sees the impact of human interaction on the natural habitat, society must realize that
they have a responsibility to do something because our future as a species on this planet is in jeopardy.
Procedures/Methodology
The raw data that was collected was 20 random people. You can find the collection on the next page. I
used the stratified sampling method. The survey question was Do you think wildlife is important? and
people answered either yes or no.

Principles And Methods Of Ergonomics
INTRODUCTION
Ergonomic means the understanding of the interactions among humans and other elements of a
system. This is achieved by applying theoretical principles, data and methods to design so that we can
optimise human well being and thus improving overall system performance. Ergonomists helps in
planning, designing and evaluation of tasks, jobs and products in industries. These also include
environments and systems in order to make viable to the needs, abilities and limitations of peoples.
The term Ergonomics means Greek ergo that is work and nomos means laws to denote the science of

According to International Ergonomics Association (IEA); Ergonomics is the scientific discipline
concerned with the understanding of interactions among humans and other elements of a system, and
the profession that applies theory, principles, data and methods to design in order to optimize human
well being and overall system performance(2). In countries like India where there are many industries,
they play a vital role in employing majority of industrial workers. The majority of the industrial
workers are suffering from musculoskeletal disorder(5) that are work related specially upper extremity
work related musculoskeletal disorders (UE WMSDs) are the most common form of occupational
diseases. Hence to consider this factor, operator needs proper seating arrangement such that their
problems regarding the MSDs can be reduced productivity will be increased (3). This is dealt by
ergonomics that deals with making the work place safe, comfortable, efficient, and harmless as
possible. This is achieved by proper balance between worker characteristics and task demands. In any
work setting it is important to produce high quality products and it s been a main objective also.
Labour is directly related to the productivity. Their ability, skills, productivity and performance have a

Women s Suffrage During The World
Women s suffrage in Germany 1918, sexism throughout the world, the Holocaust, and several
challenges plagued a woman throughout her entire life. Edith Stein faced never ending difficulties due
to her gender and religious affiliations. Analyzing her theologies through the course of her life and
how they changed along with sexism and anti Semitism pressures aid in giving Stein all the respect
she has earned. It can be rather surprising when individuals learn what Edith Stein s religious
upbringing and initial theologies were compared to her mature adult life. Stein was raised by her
mother as an Ashkenazi Jew and was even born on the Jewish Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur. Stein
writes, Her mother always laid great emphasis on the fact that her youngest was born on the holy day
commemorating the offering of sacrifices for the sins of the nation (Hill 192). This deep affection
would cause problems later for Stein, when she converts to Catholicism. However, as a child, the
family practiced Judaism very liberally. They attended synagogue on the holy days, obeyed some of
the dietary laws (it is unknown if they kept kosher), the family business stayed open on Sabbath, and
their prayers were spoken in their native language, German, rather than the traditional Hebrew.
Because Stein was a girl, she was given a minimal education and had limited understanding on Jewish
beliefs about salvation. Hill believes that this contributed to her leaving behind her Jewish roots and

Cuba And The United States
Introduction A lot has gone on between the United States and Cuba between 1959 and 2015. In 1959,
Cuba and the United States cut off diplomatic ties. On December 17, 2014, the United States and
Cuba announced that they would restore diplomatic ties. Diplomatic ties is defined as The art or
practice of conducting international relations, as in negotiating alliances, treaties, and agreements by
The Free Dictionary. This means that two countries work together and with other countries to talk
about alliances and make treaties and agreements. When they cut off diplomatic ties, the United States
and Cuba basically had nothing to do with each other on the international scene.
History of Cuba
Cuba was first discovered by Spanish explorers about 500 years ago. Cuba is the largest country of the
West Indies, which include Jamaica, Hispaniola, and Puerto Rico. Cuba has a population of over 11
million people. They have been shut off from the United States since 1959. They have not gotten any
new cars from the United States since then, so they keep the 1950s cars in use. Fidel Castro became
the Prime Minister of Cuba in 1959 after seizing Havana and overthrowing Fulgencio Batista.
Havana, La Habana in Spanish, is the largest city in Cuba, as well as the largest city in all of the
Caribbean, and the capital city of Cuba. Havana is also the only major city in Cuba. Havana has a

When people think of Oklahoma, they usually think about flatlands and waving wheat. The thought of
terrorism would never come into mind. This is exactly what the people of Oklahoma City would ve
been thinking if asked about terrorism. Sadly, on the day of April 19, 1995, Oklahoma and the nation
was shocked as the unthinkable happened. The rest of the world stood still, and watched as people
were rushed from the building. Families received information about their loved ones, and soon learned
that they were no longer living. Parents were also sickened by the fact that their children would never
be able to go to daycare again. As for the man in charge of this operation, his slow but authorized
death was watched by families and friends of the victims. The rest of the nation should ve been able to

Essay On Ultra Wide Monitor
5. Ultrawide VS 4k Montior Which one should I buy?
Well, they are both suitable for very different kind of users. Both of them offer a lot of screen space
for productivity. But an ultrawide is more recommended for multi tasking.
Sure, you can work with multiple applications on a 4K display, but it would be hard to read unless you
scale it. In short, more pixels doesn t mean you ll achieve higher productivity.
As for gamers, you need to know that between an ultra wide monitor or a 4K, the latter demands a
more powerful computer in order to fully enjoy the content.
With an ultrawide monitor, you won t need to upgrade your rig to enjoy the smooth gameplay

As for gamers, multiple monitors can be annoying for long gaming sessions since you ll have to
constantly move your head to enjoy everything that s happening on two or three different screens.
On the other hand, ultrawide monitor won t cause this kind of problem as a single curved screen offers
enough viewing space without the hassle of maneuvering your head all the time.
Also, unlike a multi monitor setup, ultrawide monitors will provide an immersive experience on a
giant single screen and that too without any bezels.
Moreover, you ll also get lots of features in an ultrawide gaming monitor like G Sync, Free Sync,
Gameplus Technology, Flicker Free technology, and gaming mode in the adjustment settings.
Combined, all of these features will give you a more enjoyable gaming experience than a dual or triple
monitor setup.
In short, I think buying an ultrawide unit is better than a multiple monitor setup for productivity and
gaming.
Even if it costs a bit more, the advantages of an ultrawide monitor give it an edge over a dual or triple
monitor setup.
Have you noticed that everyone is demanding for features like big screen, higher resolution, low
refresh rate and amazing picture quality in an affordable Monitor?

Polytheism In Latin America
Spain and Portugal successfully colonized South America during the 15th century and as a result
exploited the land they conquered to their benefit. The Treaty of Tordesillas divided the region
between the two great powers and allowed them to do what they wished with the land they controlled.
Religious missionaries worked to convert the natives to the scripture of the Catholic Church while
simultaneously enslaving them and claiming their resources as their own. The indigenous people were
infuriated with the arrogance of their European conquerors and found inspiration from the United
States of America and the French to lead a revolution of their own. The consequences of these series
of uprisings and the basis for their desire to possess independence is still being witnessed in modern
day Mexico, through the Zapatistas. The Aztecs, Mayans, and Incas were three prominent cultures in
South America. Polytheism, human sacrifice, agriculture, and a self governed empires were all aspects

The American Dream Is A Flawed Concept
The American Dream is a flawed concept, a deceptive motivator, which promotes fantasy and
unrealistic capitalist goals (ideals) of success, while disregarding the immense costs. The American
Dream, conceptualized among early American frontiersmen deeply impacted societal thinking and
motivation. America meant more . More ideas, more possibilities, more space, more land, and finally,
more success. This concept is timeless for Americans and aspiring American citizens. The American
Dream can be broken down into two pieces, the illusion and reality of the dream. The white picket
fence, a classic symbol which represents the American Dream of owning private (protected) property
and raising a family, was an expensive decoration during the colonial era, which many Americans
desired. This symbol was maintained through early cinema and advertisements and is well known
internationally as a symbol for new opportunity in America. This is the illusion of the American
Dream. The financial success required to purchase this dream home is far more expensive than it
looks. The Average price of a home in the United States was $361,600 in July 2015 (U.S. Census),
while the average household income of 2013 was only $52,250. Some may think highly of this
number, however, it is far from being close enough to afford an average home. This is the painful
reality of the American Dream. For most people, in order to obtain this dream, one has to enter the
workforce and dream of promotion, getting

Theme Of The Metamorrphosis And It s A Wonderful Life
The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka and the movie It s a Wonderful Life, directed by Francis Copra,
don t seem to have a lot in common at first glance. One is an old novella taught in literature classes,
and the other is a Christmas movie, but if you look closer you can see they share common themes of
unhappiness, transformation, and dependence on family support. In both The Metamorphosis and It s a
Wonderful Life the main characters are unhappy in their lives, and go through a transformation where
they see what their lives are like without them. We will examine the characters, the journeys they went
through, and the different outcomes of similar experiences. George s transformation in It s a
Wonderful Life starts with James Steward s character George s unhappiness. His job, which he never
wanted to get stuck with in the first place, is going bad, and he feels like nothing he does makes any
difference. He is about to get blamed for something he didn t do and is backed into a corner. This is
when George s transformation begins. His unhappiness is compounded when his business is failing
and he is blamed. He is threatened with prison and ruin. He is unable to keep it together for Christmas
Eve. He sees his life as a life of sacrifice for his friends, family, and the good of the town, and he sees
it as all for nothing. All his efforts are leading to his ruin. When he goes home after the money is
missing, and after realizing all the implications that are attached to that, the stress is compounded by
his family. His daughter is sick, the piano is playing the same thing over and over. He is bombarded
with questions and the problems pile up until he loses his temper. He feels that he has the weight of
the world on his shoulders and it is all crashing down. Nothing he does is good enough, and nothing
he has done would stop him from going to prison if he couldn t come up with money. That is when he
remembers his life insurance. If he died the bank would be taken care of and his family would be
taken care of. If he died he wouldn t be stuck in the same old town, with all the responsibility. He
stands on the bridge ready to jump and wishes he had never been born, He gets his wish and is shown

The Impact Of Drone Warfare On The People Of Other Countries
In the early twenty first century a new type of warfare entered the world stage, the implications and
effects of which are barely coming to fruition for those who will have to live with what has been
inflicted upon the people of other countries. Famed Chinese military strategist Sun Tzu once said, the
supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting . This is meant to act as a wise proverb
about the gruesome act of war. However, with the creation and advances in drone technology this
quote has been more than fulfilled, it has guaranteed a perpetuation of a type of war where our
government has no limits on the damage it can inflict. In our attempt to subdue, we are not fighting
with soldiers, but fighting with machines that bear no burden on the minds of the American people. To
the point where it is easy to believe that we are not fighting at all, but the reality of the situation is that
drone warfare may be the most atrocious military action inflicted upon other countries by the
American government, a monumental lie told to the American people, and a violation of basic
international and human rights laws. The likes of which are not infinitely sustainable from a modern
policy viewpoint, and will have to be dealt with if the democratic legitimacy of our country wishes to
be upheld at all. In Kaag and Kreps Drone Warfare an in depth analysis of the modern usage of drones

on Bill Clinton s first presidential campaign in 1992. (Movie Primary Colors, 2013) The movie starts
with Governor Jack Stanton meeting with an adult literacy class. There is an adult student there that

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Nanowires
transport is expected to be blocked in thin 1D nanostructures. Nonetheless, if employing an alternative
perspective, poor heat transport is useful for thermoelectric materials, which are characterized by a
figure of merit :ZT = α2T/[ρ(κp + κe)], where α, T, ρ, κp and κe represent the Seebeck coefficient,
absolute temperature, electronic resistivity, lattice thermal conductivity and electronic thermal
conductivity, respectively. It is found that as the proceeding of the phonon transport worsens, the value
of the figure would improve. In fact, the Dresselhaus research group has predicted that ZT can be
increased above bulk values in thin nanowires as long as the diameters, compositions and carrier
concentrations are carefully manipulated [14,15]. This contention has been confirmed by different

keep their members and possible members thinking that life under ISIS is better than their current

Sometimes the prizes are bigger than the other, this can be compared to ISIS s system. The worse the
crime you commit, the better the reward is. ISIS s rewards go much further than just a physical object
or some money, it pushes it further into rewards for an afterlife or in the afterlife. ISIS is so isolated
from the rest of the world, that they ve created their own currency in which it s citizens use for
everything. It s also very profitable for the people who commit the terror acts. The rewards are given
for those who, killing an unbelieving soldier or capturing an unbelieving soldier, as well as reporting
anything that goes against their religious law. (MacIntyre, Sara, 2016). Since the people in the areas
controlled by ISIS are very religious and isolated from the rest of the world s views, the rewards are
their path to rich and fame within its cities. This is a psychological motivator for them and helps them
cope with what they are doing, and continue it to please their god and prepare for a glorious afterlife.
(Blair, Leonardo, 2014). The chances of the rewards being given out to those who follow through are
slim, this encourages them to commit the killings more often to have a higher chance at getting the

Theories Of Atonement
Before answering the title question, two clarifications need to be made. Firstly, there is difficulty when
speaking of the atonement as there is seemingly no Dogma. This is an opinion held by Robert Jenson
who states, you can deny any offered construal of how the atonement works, or all of them altogether,
or even deny that any construal is possible, and be a perfectly orthodox believer . Due to this, over the
years theologians have formulated a myriad of types, models and theories. Alister McGrath helpfully
groups these into four themes (the cross as a sacrifice, the cross as a victory, the cross and forgiveness,
and the cross as a moral example). It is by these four that we will divide the atonement and address the
question. The task in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In McGrath s description, the death of Christ providing the basis by which God is enabled to forgive
sin . The confusing issue is that the atoning forgiveness is seemingly achieved in a way, barely
different to the aforementioned models. This model certainly differentiates itself in some ways but
ultimately it uses the same collection of phrases: satisfaction, substitution, representation, etc. The
aspect of this model that separates it from the others can be considered a strength. The cross and
forgiveness emphasises the desire for God to find a way to forgive, a way to make things right,
because of what God has done in Christ forgiveness is ready waiting for every sinner that repents .
This is a comparative strength, especially in the context of mission. From an external perspective the
cross as a sacrifice can be seen as a God who wants to justly kill or seeks vengeance; the cross as a
victory can be seen as a God who deceives or is not omnipotent; The cross and forgiveness can be
seen as a God who is reaching out to make things right with us, his creation. In all things God works

Integrating Special Education Children
Disadvantages of Integrating Special Education Children in Regular Classrooms Few topics have as
much controversy as inclusion of children with special needs in regular classrooms. Few professionals
question the appropriateness of inclusion of students with disabilities in regular classes. However,
significant debate about which students should form part of the general education classes and the time
they should spend in those classes persists. This has led to two groups, one for, and the other against
inclusion. There are those who think that all students belong to regular education. This group claims
that all students have a right to attend school with their peers and this can only occur within a single
system where all students form the learning community. Secondly, the group claims that all students
can benefit from education through supportive learning in inclusive settings. Third, they cite stigma as
unfavorable to the children s welfare. Lastly, they observe that the approaches used in special classes
do not significantly differ from those used in regular classes (Zwaagstra et al. 13). Conversely, the
other group believes that only students who meet certain standards should be included in regular

Back in the earlier years of American society, the country probably would have been considered a melting pot by most people, as the years gone by the technology, the people, and the country as a whole has evolved becoming more diverse, making it more of a tossed salad. A few of the many things that have been diversified in this country are the amount of races living here, the different religions, and also the plethora of type s food. First, with the amounts of races that the United States has, many people would likely refer it as a melting pot. While regarding the amount of races that are making a living and or moving to the United States; I could be here all day trying to list them all. But a few of the races are; Caucasian, African American, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Canadian, and many more that migrate from all corners of the world. • 4. Mrs. Dalloway I. Mrs. Dalloway, by Virginia Woolf, was published on May 14, 1925 in London, England. The novel follows Clarissa Dalloway and a variety of other characters throughout the span of one day in their lives in 1923 London. Woolf utilizes a narrative method of writing. With the novel s structure, the narrator possesses the ability to move inside of a character s mind and compose her thoughts and emotions immediately as events occur throughout the day. The novel s main character, Clarissa, is a middle aged woman who belongs to the upper middle class in society and is well married to a Member of Parliament Richard Dalloway. Clarissa s day is full of arrangements for a dinner party she plans to host that evening. During the novel, numerous other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rather than hold lengthy conversations between characters, she frequently writes only of small talk and leaves more serious topics to be recited in an individual s exclusive thoughts. One of her purposes in writing the novel is to expose the hypocrisy of society. The characters in the novel range from eccentric acquaintances to extravagant lords and ladies to vindictive tutors to suicidal veterans. One example of this theme occurs when Rezia and Septimus attempt to settle down in the park. When the airplane soars overhead, she writes, Tears ran down his cheeks (Woolf 21). While one may mistake this as joy or, at worst, sorrow over the recent war, Woolf gives the reality of the action beneath the surface, stating, They are signaling to me... this exquisite beauty... but he would not go mad. He would see no more (21). While Septimus dwindles on the brink of insanity, Rezia chatters away about nature, unaware of the mess resting beside her. Septimus portrays the appearance of one man yet expresses an entirely new persona through his contemplations. Another instance of the theme transpires when Miss Kilman and Clarissa wait for Elizabeth to retrieve her gloves before going shopping. Clarissa and Kilman both make attempts at small talk. However, both give their attentions to a mutual disgust of each other. Clarissa simply asks if Kilman is taking Elizabeth to the stores. Kilman replies dryly, but in ... • 5. Witchcraft in Contemporary African Society Essays I. INTRODUCTION The Enlightenment and the emerging of modern rationalism have paved the way to a worldview where the suspicion of witchcraft is not needed to explain the mysterious phenomena of this world. This is not the case in Africa. The belief in the existence of witches, evil persons who are able to harm others by using mystical powers, is part of the common cultural knowledge. Samuel Waje Kunhiyop states, Almost all African societies believe in witchcraft in one form or another. Magesa thought the English term is misleading in a sense that In Africa, it is not a craft but the mysterious power of evil potentially in every human being that manifests itself in all areas of life society, politics, economy, religion, etc. When something bad happens, people hardly ask how it occurred but who did it. It is believed that every misfortune is caused by humans or spirits. There might be exceptions when it comes to global catastrophes, but personal or family problems are always caused by someone. If the individual or the clan cannot find personal faults that would justify a correction from the ancestors, witchcraft is suspected. The offender is someone known because these powers do not function anonymously. There has to be contact between the witch and the victim. Characteristics of a Witch Shorter defines witchcraft as the inborn power to harm others secretly and unjustifiably. This mean, there is no reason, it shows that witches harm randomly because they are driven to do so. According to Magesa, they operate psychically and project from the mind their powers on the victim. There is no rite preformed or spell uttered. All of the elements made this story a good read, but in this case one stands out in particular. The setting really give this story the excitement and thought provoking substance that could enthrall anybody. The setting proves to be so important it controls character actions. Everything that happens is determined on the setting of this story. This literary work is started out with a setting of New York on a rainy, gloomy day. New York is known to be an exciting city that never sleeps, full of successful people such as Blake, the main character, or people struggling just to get by, like Miss Dent. The city being so crowded and loud makes it hard for people to really think and calm themselves down. Third, the new public management model is applied to Hands Across the World. New Public Management Today the new public management (NPM) model is the leading worldview in the public sector. The political climate and ideology during the 1970s and 1980s served as an impetus to migrate away from the old public administration approach and implement new policies and procedures that would be of better service to the public interest and collective good as well as restore trust and value in the bureaucratic process. Thus, during the mid 1990s, the new public management worldview was realized to apply common practices used in the private sector to the public sector. The goal of this approach was to achieve the same level of efficiency found in the private sector and remove some of the redundancy, lack of transparency, and lack of accountability in bureaucratic government to better serve the public interest. Lucinda Ramberg Kinship Approaching Kinship that Is Not Kinship Imam Subkhan Lucinda Ramberg has reignite the kinship studies through Given to the Goddess which had declined and got less attention from anthropologists in the last two decades. Kinship as a subdiscipline became increasingly marginal to anthropology partly because its debate had been removed from the actual lived experiences of kinship (Carsten, 2013). They often failed to apprehend what made kinship such an important aspect of the experiences of those whose lives were being described. Furthermore, as Ramberg indicates in her book, anthropological accounts of kinship have all centered their analyses of human relatedness on the conjugal pair (12) and excluded other categories which do not follow this assumption. Ramberg claims that the available methodological tools in anthropology are not able to capture the complexity of the kin making which is practiced by devadasi, kinship with the goddess, Yellamma. • 23. Implications Of Wildlife In Wildlife Wildlife Introduction Purpose I would like to briefly summarize why wildlife is important and I m examining this because it s truly important that we as people recognize that wildlife plays a big role in how we live. Problem Nature is losing its wildlife! The loss can be attributed to two main causes. The first cause is human interaction. Humans are having too much interference in nature. According to the World Wide Federation (2017), the forests, swamps, plains, and lakes are being destroyed to make room for roads, pipelines, and industrial development. These areas serve as the natural habitat for our wildlife. Without a home, these animals are dying off at record numbers and becoming extinct. According to Morris (2003), Humans are also killing the animals for food and this choice also destroys the natural habitat. Many humans are making the choice to catch fish faster than the oceans can restock. When people choose to destroy these animal s homes, it has a negative effect on the food chain. When one sees the impact of human interaction on the natural habitat, society must realize that they have a responsibility to do something because our future as a species on this planet is in jeopardy. This means that two countries work together and with other countries to talk about alliances and make treaties and agreements. This is exactly what the people of Oklahoma City would ve been thinking if asked about terrorism. Sadly, on the day of April 19, 1995, Oklahoma and the nation was shocked as the unthinkable happened. The rest of the world stood still, and watched as people were rushed from the building. Families received information about their loved ones, and soon learned that they were no longer living. Parents were also sickened by the fact that their children would never be able to go to daycare again. As for the man in charge of this operation, his slow but authorized death was watched by families and friends of the victims. Both of them offer a lot of screen space for productivity. But an ultrawide is more recommended for multi tasking. Sure, you can work with multiple applications on a 4K display, but it would be hard to read unless you scale it. In short, more pixels doesn t mean you ll achieve higher productivity. As for gamers, you need to know that between an ultra wide monitor or a 4K, the latter demands a more powerful computer in order to fully enjoy the content. With an ultrawide monitor, you won t need to upgrade your rig to enjoy the smooth gameplay experience. Whereas with a 4K monitor; video games will look more stunning, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As for gamers, multiple monitors can be annoying for long gaming sessions since you ll have to constantly move your head to enjoy everything that s happening on two or three different screens. On the other hand, ultrawide monitor won t cause this kind of problem as a single curved screen offers enough viewing space without the hassle of maneuvering your head all the time. Also, unlike a multi monitor setup, ultrawide monitors will provide an immersive experience on a giant single screen and that too without any bezels. Moreover, you ll also get lots of features in an ultrawide gaming monitor like G Sync, Free Sync, Gameplus Technology, Flicker Free technology, and gaming mode in the adjustment settings. Combined, all of these features will give you a more enjoyable gaming experience than a dual or triple monitor setup. In short, I think buying an ultrawide unit is better than a multiple monitor setup for productivity and gaming. Even if it costs a bit more, the advantages of an ultrawide monitor give it an edge over a dual or triple monitor setup. Have you noticed that everyone is demanding for features like big screen, higher resolution, low refresh rate and amazing picture quality in an affordable Monitor? • 32. Polytheism In Latin America Spain and Portugal successfully colonized South America during the 15th century and as a result exploited the land they conquered to their benefit. The Treaty of Tordesillas divided the region between the two great powers and allowed them to do what they wished with the land they controlled. Religious missionaries worked to convert the natives to the scripture of the Catholic Church while simultaneously enslaving them and claiming their resources as their own. The indigenous people were infuriated with the arrogance of their European conquerors and found inspiration from the United States of America and the French to lead a revolution of their own. The consequences of these series of uprisings and the basis for their desire to possess independence is still being witnessed in modern day Mexico, through the Zapatistas. • 33. The American Dream Is A Flawed Concept The American Dream is a flawed concept, a deceptive motivator, which promotes fantasy and unrealistic capitalist goals (ideals) of success, while disregarding the immense costs. The American Dream, conceptualized among early American frontiersmen deeply impacted societal thinking and motivation. America meant more . More ideas, more possibilities, more space, more land, and finally, more success. This concept is timeless for Americans and aspiring American citizens. The American Dream can be broken down into two pieces, the illusion and reality of the dream. The white picket fence, a classic symbol which represents the American Dream of owning private (protected) property and raising a family, was an expensive decoration during the colonial era, which many Americans desired. This symbol was maintained through early cinema and advertisements and is well known internationally as a symbol for new opportunity in America. This is the illusion of the American Dream. The financial success required to purchase this dream home is far more expensive than it looks. The Average price of a home in the United States was $361,600 in July 2015 (U.S. Census), while the average household income of 2013 was only $52,250. Theme Of The Metamorrphosis And It s A Wonderful Life The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka and the movie It s a Wonderful Life, directed by Francis Copra, don t seem to have a lot in common at first glance. One is an old novella taught in literature classes, and the other is a Christmas movie, but if you look closer you can see they share common themes of unhappiness, transformation, and dependence on family support. In both The Metamorphosis and It s a Wonderful Life the main characters are unhappy in their lives, and go through a transformation where they see what their lives are like without them. We will examine the characters, the journeys they went through, and the different outcomes of similar experiences. George s transformation in It s a Wonderful Life starts with James Steward s character George s unhappiness. His job, which he never wanted to get stuck with in the first place, is going bad, and he feels like nothing he does makes any difference. He is about to get blamed for something he didn t do and is backed into a corner. This is when George s transformation begins. His unhappiness is compounded when his business is failing and he is blamed. He is threatened with prison and ruin. He is unable to keep it together for Christmas Eve. He sees his life as a life of sacrifice for his friends, family, and the good of the town, and he sees it as all for nothing. All his efforts are leading to his ruin. When he goes home after the money is missing, and after realizing all the implications that are attached to that, the stress is compounded by his family. He feels that he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and it is all crashing down. Nothing he does is good enough, and nothing he has done would stop him from going to prison if he couldn t come up with money. That is when he remembers his life insurance. The Impact Of Drone Warfare On The People Of Other Countries In the early twenty first century a new type of warfare entered the world stage, the implications and effects of which are barely coming to fruition for those who will have to live with what has been inflicted upon the people of other countries. Famed Chinese military strategist Sun Tzu once said, the supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting . This is meant to act as a wise proverb about the gruesome act of war. However, with the creation and advances in drone technology this quote has been more than fulfilled, it has guaranteed a perpetuation of a type of war where our government has no limits on the damage it can inflict. In our attempt to subdue, we are not fighting with soldiers, but fighting with machines that bear no burden on the minds of the American people. To the point where it is easy to believe that we are not fighting at all, but the reality of the situation is that drone warfare may be the most atrocious military action inflicted upon other countries by the American government, a monumental lie told to the American people, and a violation of basic international and human rights laws. The likes of which are not infinitely sustainable from a modern policy viewpoint, and will have to be dealt with if the democratic legitimacy of our country wishes to be upheld at all. • 38. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Nanowires transport is expected to be blocked in thin 1D nanostructures. Nonetheless, if employing an alternative perspective, poor heat transport is useful for thermoelectric materials, which are characterized by a figure of merit :ZT = α2T/[ρ(κp + κe)], where α, T, ρ, κp and κe represent the Seebeck coefficient, absolute temperature, electronic resistivity, lattice thermal conductivity and electronic thermal conductivity, respectively. It is found that as the proceeding of the phonon transport worsens, the value of the figure would improve. In fact, the Dresselhaus research group has predicted that ZT can be increased above bulk values in thin nanowires as long as the diameters, compositions and carrier concentrations are carefully manipulated [14,15]. Sometimes the prizes are bigger than the other, this can be compared to ISIS s system. The worse the crime you commit, the better the reward is. ISIS s rewards go much further than just a physical object or some money, it pushes it further into rewards for an afterlife or in the afterlife. ISIS is so isolated from the rest of the world, that they ve created their own currency in which it s citizens use for everything. It s also very profitable for the people who commit the terror acts. The rewards are given for those who, killing an unbelieving soldier or capturing an unbelieving soldier, as well as reporting anything that goes against their religious law. (MacIntyre, Sara, 2016). Since the people in the areas controlled by ISIS are very religious and isolated from the rest of the world s views, the rewards are their path to rich and fame within its cities. This is a psychological motivator for them and helps them cope with what they are doing, and continue it to please their god and prepare for a glorious afterlife. (Blair, Leonardo, 2014). The chances of the rewards being given out to those who follow through are slim, this encourages them to commit the killings more often to have a higher chance at getting the rewards. This is an opinion held by Robert Jenson who states, you can deny any offered construal of how the atonement works, or all of them altogether, or even deny that any construal is possible, and be a perfectly orthodox believer . Due to this, over the years theologians have formulated a myriad of types, models and theories. Integrating Special Education Children Disadvantages of Integrating Special Education Children in Regular Classrooms Few topics have as much controversy as inclusion of children with special needs in regular classrooms. Few professionals question the appropriateness of inclusion of students with disabilities in regular classes. However, significant debate about which students should form part of the general education classes and the time they should spend in those classes persists. This has led to two groups, one for, and the other against inclusion. There are those who think that all students belong to regular education. This group claims that all students have a right to attend school with their peers and this can only occur within a single system where all students form the learning community. Secondly, the group claims that all students can benefit from education through supportive learning in inclusive settings. Third, they cite stigma as unfavorable to the children s welfare. Lastly, they observe that the approaches used in special classes do not significantly differ from those used in regular classes (Zwaagstra et al. 13). Conversely, the other group believes that only students who meet certain standards should be included in regular classes. The group supports inclusion only under unique conditions.
