Human Nature Of Curiosity
Curiosity within
Curiosity is human nature that people are born with. From the moment someone is born they
becomes curious of all their surroundings and what they can do. Curiosity also leads to instability
because every one becomes curious sooner, and or later someone will break the rules or do
something they aren t supposed to. Also, if one realizes they aren t really happy then they will
become curious and try to find something that will make them happy. This will lead to instability
in society where a small amount of people like a certain thing and others don t. It will all lead to
people arguing and destroying the so called perfection that they have reached. Therefore, stability
will never be reached because of people s curiosity, and because of society s will of trying to be
perfect which makes it imperfect.
In the World State everyone has a certain job to do and the people are separated according to their
caste system, there are Alphas, Betas, Gammas, Deltas, and Epsilons. They are ordered from
higher class to lower class but this doesn t stop curiosity between all of them. There are some
people in the World State that experience curiosity. Bernard Marx is one of the few that are really
experiencing curiosity and want something different. A great example is when he begins to feel
something for Lenina and when they are on a date he asks Don t you wish you were free Lenina
(91). He is not the only one though Lenina is also experiencing different emotions and she is

The Destruction Of Salem By Arthur Miller
Armania Heckenmueller Mrs. Hagerty H English II 2EF 11/23/15 The Destruction of Salem
Through Greed and Vengeance in The Crucible During the time The Crucible was set, the
community of Salem was awry. It did not have the solid characteristics of what a healthy town
should look like. Instead there was no trust between people, everyone was watching out for only
themselves, and most of the townspeople were turning their backs on the disastrous deeds of the
court. The people of Salem feel like they have no one to turn to, so fear crept into their minds and
hearts. They developed hysteria which caused the town to slowly disintegrate. This panic allows
other people in their community to take advantage of them and manipulate them for their own
purposes. In his play, The Crucible, Arthur Miller shows how vengeance and greed destroy the
community through the characters of Abigail Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Putnam, and Reverend
Parris. Abigail Williams is a great example of how vengefulness undermines the court s authority.
Abigail Williams, a girl who has an endless capacity for dissembling (Act I), seeks revenge not
only through the court system, but through Tituba, her slave, and the girls she manipulates. Jealous
of Elizabeth Proctor, who she thought was a cold, sniveling woman (Act I), for firing her after
learning of her affair with her husband John Proctor, Abigail sees no other method to regain her
lover other than killing his wife. After Abigail comes to this conclusion

Doctor Who Origin
We are well within the one week countdown mark to possibly one of the most hyped series of
Doctor Who in the show s five decade history. On the face of it, the series looks to be like any
other. One with lots of monsters, mystery and adventure. Also with the important point of it being
another Moffat series to add to his collection (which isn t a terrible collection at that).
So, what makes Series 9 that much more gripping, even before it airs? What have got Whovians
the world over raving about the series during the tenth anniversary year of the revival? Well in
this article, you will find all the answers to that question in six parts, and perhaps more reasons to
declare it one of the greatest series yet if it delivers on all aspects.

However, the majority of the episodes weren t even originally written for a Doctor of Peter s ilk,
which was never really publicised at the time, so the majority didn t know. They were all Matt
Smith scripts. This meant there were inconsistencies in my opinion in the way Twelfth was played.
It was as if in certain episodes he was one way, then the next few he was something else. It was a
jumbled characterisation at the time.
That is all change this year, as it truly is the time of the Twelfth Doctor. The scripts have been
manufactured exactly to the new Doctor s character, which promises more differences, but also
more consistency in his character this time around. We will be getting a more identifiable portrayal
of the Twelfth Doctor himself.
Peter is now far more comfortable in the role, and he will no doubt be giving it the best he has
got, which is a lot! He will be sensational, and with trusted companion Clara in a less
commanding position this time around. The beauty of the Twelfth Doctor s character will shine
ever brighter. He looks to be a splendid mix of fun, dark, adventurous and damn likeable too. Get

Police Brutality And Its Effects
Police brutality is a phenomena that is documented throughout a myriad of societies from Russia,
China, Indonesia, Palestine, Egypt to the United States. Police brutality is the use of force which
exceeds what is needed in order to accomplish a legal police purpose.Throughout America s history,
minorities, specifically Black people, have been the disproportionate target of policebrutality.
Amnesty International has documented several examples of police brutality, including instances of
beatings, unjustified shootings, and excessively forceful detention methods which merit
concern (Amnesty 1999).The pervasiveness of police shootings of citizens has been widely
publicized in the media and stresses the fact that this is a national problem. While these
occurrences are relatively infrequent the lack of any solution or way to minimize brutality has
been an ongoing criticism by citizens and others of the United States police force. The term
excessive force is utilized frequently, although there is no concrete definition of this term as it
is subjective (Police Use of Excessive Force in Minority Communities). The use of force is either
appropriate or excessive depending on if the use of force is necessary and justified for the officer to
complete his job (Police Use of Excessive Force in Minority Communities). The use of deadly
force is justified by law if the officer feels he or others are under imminent threat. There are many
high profile cases of the use of excessive and

Compare And Contrast Iroquois And Delian League
Two of the most iconic confederacies in history, the Iroquois and Delian League have shaped the
cultural landscapes of North America and Greece respectively. Despite the similar democratic
principles in both regions, the confederacies incentives for their beginnings were vastly different, as
the Iroquois was seen to sustain internal safety with expansionist policies, while the Delian League
was to resist external pressure without any imperialist motives.
The beginnings of the Iroquois confederacy were triggered by the prevalent ethnic tensions between
the many nations in the North American region. Established prior to European contact in the
1450s, the idea of a confederacy was masterminded by the Peacemaker, commonly known as
Dekadawina. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kinship was traced through the female line, as the Western headed father figure consisted of the
progeny of the woman and her female descendants. On a macro scale, the family was integrated
into a system of clans, clans into nations, and ethnic groups into the confederation. This
confederation featured a system known as the Grand Council , where each associated family would
be placed in a hierarchy. The hierarchy would dictate the tasks each family or nation would be
responsible for. Within the council itself, the decision making process resembles that of a two
house congress in one body, with the older brothers , the nations of the Mohawk and Onondaga,
and younger brothers , the nations of the Cayuga and Oneida each comprising a side of the
house. Between these two distinct houses, the older brothers of the Mohawk and Onondaga
occupy an executive role, hence its name, and possess a veto that could be overridden by both
the younger brothers as part of the process. The resulting decision by the Mohawk and Onondaga
are not final, however, as the head chief of the organization, known as the Hononwiretonh, whose
duty is to sit and listen to the debate, is the final voice within this decision process. As can be seen,
this legislative system provides for numerous checks and balances of power and depends on

against Batista s forces from the Sierra Maestra. After Batista s overthrow in 1959 which resulted in
the ending of the Cuban revolution, After the Cuban revolution, Fidel Castro established a
revolutionary socialist state where he assumed military and political power as Cubas Prime Minister.
In 1960, (Growing Economic Antagonism), Castro nationalized all foreign assets in Cuba,
increased taxes on American imports, and established trade agreements with the Soviet Union. This
resulted in the slashing of import quota for Cuban sugar, the freezing of Cuban assets in America,

Analysis Of The Film Chocolat
The foreign film that I chose to review was Chocolat, which was released in 2000 and was
directed by Lasse Hallström. This film followed the story of Vianne Rocher (Juliette Binoche)
and her young daughter Anouk (Victoire Thivisol), set in France about fifteen years after World
War 2. They wandered around Europe, guided by the north wind, and they come across a small
village. There, they opened up La Chocolaterie Maya, a chocolatier. The mayor, Comte de Reyaud
(Alfred Molina) was very displeased with this since the town was steeped in strict tradition and
was just starting to observe Lent. Her chocolate began to change the lives of everyone in the
town, broke down barriers, renewed marriages, and freed people. The film ended with Vianne and
her daughter settling down in the town for the first time, instead of moving on with the north wind
and the town was changed forever. This film was based in France and the majority of the film was
shot in the village of Flavigny sur Ozerain in Burgundy, France. The language that was spoken in
the film was English with a strong French accent. There were some French words throughout the
film and all the names such as the people, the village, and the businesses were French.
There were several messages that the filmmakers were trying to communicate. One of these
messages was that stereotypes are not always correct. According to the book, Communication
Between Cultures, when people are confronted with a lack of familiarity or similarity, they

Criminal Liability To Commit Credit Card Fraud
In order for a person to commit credit card fraud they need to knowingly obtain, possess, use, or
transfer a means of identification or financial information of another person. That person can be
either living or dead, and they must do this with the intent to commit, or to aid or abet, any crime.
Either the accused or an accomplice can use the credit cardand if the total accumulated from credit,
money, goods, services, or anything else in value is greater than one thousand five hundred dollars

Furthermore, each time that person uses the credit card they can be charged with the crime. The
separate charges of identity theft for each use does not violate double jeopardy, because the unit of
prosecution for identity theft is each use of stolen personal information, not each piece of stolen
information (Leagle, 2004). Each time the person used the stolen card it is a separate charge against
them. It doesn t get grouped into one charge of identity theft. The focus of this statute suggests the
emphasis is on each use of the stolen information. This means the person can be charged with the

In the play Macbeth written by William Shakespeare, the reader can identify many themes that
correspond to the actions of the play, but one them stands out the most and this them would be
masculine vs feminine.
The person who portrays this theme the most would have to be Lady Macbeth, though she is
merely the woman of the house, she takes charge in many situations of the play and questions
Macbeth s manhood along the way. When you durst do it, then you were a man;and to be more
than what you were, you would be so much more the man () in this quote we see lady Macbeth
questioning Macbeth s manhood, asking him what kind of man he is and telling him he would be

Effects on the Boiling Point of water
Tymoteusz Merchel
Haupt, 5
The objective of my experiment is to identify the relationship between the definite boiling points of
distilled water, and water that has been mixed with our everyday table salt. In this experiment, the
Independent Variable will be the amount of salt I have added to the constant( our water), and the
Dependent Variable will be the boiling temperaturethat it reaches.
Introduction:
According to the Department of Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign,
adding salt to water increases the overall boiling point, thus reducing cooking time. It s important to
know that it does not actually speed up the boiling point, but increases the maximum temperature.
To prove this concept, we will be investigating How [does] the increase in salt (IDV) affect the
boiling temperature of water (DV)? .
Research Question:
How does the increase in salt (IDV) affect the boiling temperature of water (DV)?
Design:
Variables:
Independent:
Salt (Will be added in at different supplements)
Dependent:
Boiling Temperature ( Will hypothetically will change)
Controlled:

to rest the neck or a neck pillow at night. Physical therapy may be used and neck traction may be
used in order to reduce the compression of the nerve root. A short burst of oral steroids may be
used however no controlled studies have been done to prove their effectiveness. Dosages of
60mg of oral steroids for 7 days may be used to help alleviate inflammation (Malanga, 2016). To
further help reduce inflammation icing and nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
should be used in the initial phase of treatment. The usual dosage for cervical radiculopathy is
Ibuprofen 800mg by mouth three times daily for the next 10 14 days (Malanga, 2016). There
have also been studies showing that tricyclic antidepressants have helped have an analgesic effect
on chronic and neuropathic pain, such as Elavil or Pamelor (Malanga, 2016). If these treatments

Abstract This study aim to investigate the needlepunched nonwoven textile material based
composites. Epoxy as a bonding agent and polypropylene based needle punched nonwoven fiber
mat (PP600gsm) as a reinforced component of composites were used. The solid particle erosion
and mechanical properties of needlepunched nonwoven fiber mat reinforced composites were
investigated. The solid particle erosion wear behavior of needlepunched nonwoven polypropylene
composites was evaluated using irregular shape silica sand particles with the size of 250, 350 and
450Ојm. These sand particles were accelerated along a 50mm long nozzle of 3 mm diameter at a
varying impact velocity, angles of impingement and stand of distance. Taguchi analysis was
carried out on the basis of Design of experiments (DoE) approach to establish the inter
dependence of operating parameters. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and S/N (signal to noise)
ratios have been performed on the measured data. Eroded surfaces of composite samples were

Pros And Cons Of Pelagianism
In the years following 400 AD, the ideas of the monk Pelagius spawned a heresy that still affects
people of the church today. Pelagianism holds that a man can take the initial and fundamental steps
toward salvation by his own efforts, apart from God s Divine Grace (Slick). In a nutshell, Pelagius
heresy states that man doesn t need help from Godto be able to live a holy life and to get into
heaven. Despite the heresy seeming to have nearly died out, it merely evolved into smaller
actions that allow it to slowly take hold of our lives. As Thomas Aquinas once stated, heresies are
a species of unbelief, and like other species, heresies like pelagianism will adapt in order to
survive. Pope Francis made the comments he did about Pelagianism to make it known how it can
sneak into our lives and, in addition, presents how we personally can avoid any further confusion.
While Pelagianism may have began many years ago, it still has a large enough influence to cause
Pope Francis to speak out against it today. Pope Francis has came out and said that it s not soul
searching or constant introspection that we encounter the Lord, [but living our lives] going ... Show

While with certain institutions when a problem arises, it is swept under the carpet and ignored,
Pope Francis did the exact opposite and recognizes Pelagianism as a issue within the Church. The
Holy Father shines the light back on this heresy and presents how Christians today are not
knowingly having beliefs that are Pelagianistic. To help clear confusion, Pope Francis shows us
how we can t solely rely on ourselves for salvation and that we can always find help through God.
We have to remember that if Jesusdid not die for our sins, we would not have the chance to enter
Heaven. So if we take God out of salvation, then why would have Jesus died to save us from our

OBJECT:
The object of this experiment was to determine the density of a fluid by performing three different
methods and use that determined density to calculate the surface tension of the fluid.
THEORY:
The density of any substance is defined as the mass per unit volume and is denoted by ПЃ.ПЃ = m
/ V (1) m is the mass of a substance and V is the volume occupied by the mass. The density of a
liquid remains sensibly constant because the volume occupied by a given mass of a liquid is
almost invariable. From this it may be noted that a liquid may be taken as ... Show more content on

The apparent surface tension must undergo correction to obtain the actual value for the surface
tension of the fluid. To obtain the correction factor the equation F = 0.725 + [ 0.0004033 ( Пѓa
/ ПЃ ) + 0.04534 1.679 ( r / R ) ]1/2 (7) must be executed. F is the correction factor and (r/R) is the
ratio found on the ring container specific to the type of metal used to form the ring. Once the
correction factor is obtained, the actual surface tension for the liquid can be found by Пѓ = F * Пѓa

Difference between formal and informal imperialism
Throughout the history of the world, different kingdoms have been competing to expand their
territories. In most cases, the expansion of theses territories has been at the expense of weaker
territories that are incapable of fighting back effectively owing to different barriers . For example,
the Mongols expanded their territory in less than a hundred years to over 6,000 miles using
lightning fast archers who rode on horsebacks . An irrefutable fact about empires is the fact that
they never hold together for long as they fall apart. However, as time has been passing, changes
have been exhibited in the empires that are being formed. As such, historians normally divide
imperialism into two types , formal, as well as informal imperialism. Consequently, this article
explains the differences that exist between formal imperialism and informal imperialism by use of
examples.
To begin with, the literal meanings of the two types of imperialism act as a difference between
them. For instance, informal imperialism may be taken to signify an authority without any trace of
formality, also without any fixed rules set to control. As a matter of fact, it may be defined to be an
authority without the usual forms that symbolize authority . Clearly, this is the opposite of all the
values that formal imperialism encompasses. Formal imperialism creates a

The Effects Of Dominance Aggression On Pet Dogs
Research Methods
Assessment One Critical Report
The authors of this particular research paper are Joaquin Perez Guisado and Andres Munoz
Serrano. The title of the article is Factors Linked to Dominance Aggression in Dogs and has been
taken from the Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances, Volume 8, Issue 2. The page numbers
for the article are 336 342 and the publish date is 2009. The main aim of this study was to
determine factors that might be linked to dominance aggression in pet dogs. The research carried
out was qualitative and involves the use of surveys and interviews, and explores certain factors
relating to a topic. Qualitative methods, such as interviews, are believed to provide a deeper
understanding of social phenomena than would be obtained from purely quantitative methods (Gill
et al., 2008). There was significant association between certain dog behaviour patterns and higher
levels of dominance aggression. As a whole, the research method and survey appears to have been
considerably well done with only a few adjustments to be made if it were to be repeated or further
investigated.
The methodology for this article has both good and bad points to consider. For example the sample
size is very large and a total of 711 dogs were involved, with an equal amount (give or take a few)
of male and female dogs taking part. Only owners with dogs older than 12 months were
interviewed and there was a mixture of both pure bred and mixed breed dogs. A total of 47

Tribe.
The Ponca tribe started out in Minnesota, and in the early 1700 s they were relocated to western
banks of the Missouri River into present day Nebraska. They settled along the Ponca Creek in
Knox County Nebraska located in the northeastern part of the state. The Ponca tribe had a rough
road to finally settling in Nebraska, and Oklahoma. They were moved out by the Sioux Indians
in the early 1700 s, and faced many hardships. In 1879 the government kicked off the Ponca
Indians on their land, and the US government granted them land in the late 1900 s. The tribe s
leader was Chief Standing Bear. He was an inspiration to the Indian people. He began the trial of

offices. In 1994 the Ponca held their first ever Pow Wow after the tribes federal reinstatement in
1990. Traditionally, their Pow Wow s are a celebration for fall harvests, successful hunts, all births,
deaths, weddings of tribal members over the last year, and a gathering place for other tribes,
friends, and relatives to meet and celebrate. Dancing is one of the main traditions the Ponca Indian

The Nightmare Before Christmas Summary
The Nightmare Before Christmas begins in a small town, better known as Halloweentown. Here,
they have a Pumpkin King, who is the ruler/ most significant role model to everyone, and his
name is Jack Skellington. Jack begins to feel bored of the same holiday they have every year,
Halloween, and he soon stumbles upon trees that are embellished with carved symbols for each
holiday. He is intrigued by the door that has a bright green Christmastree on it adorned with small
ornaments and baubles. He opens the door and tumbles into the tree where he gets transported
into Christmastown. He explores the land that he was pulled into, and then he returns home to
tell his town about the place that he has just discovered. He tells them that they are going to
make their own Christmas. The town teamed up and worked on making terrifying toys to bring
joy to the children and to give Santa a year off. Jack sent 3 kids to kidnap Santa and keep him safe
while they were delivering presents to the kids of the world. Sally, who has always secretly admired
and adored Jack, told him that she had a horrendous vision that stealing Christmas was a terrible
idea, but Jack didn t listen. Jack finally got on his sleigh with his skeletal reindeer and rode off
into the darkness to begin delivering presents. Every house he delivered presents to called the
police because the toys were trying to kill them, and eventually the military tried to shoot him out
of the sky. When he was shot down, he realized

Society And Puritan Similarities
The textbook and article have numerous similarities and differences that can be seen. This is a great
advantage in trying to show the truth in what is real and what is made up about the Puritan society.
The similarities offer greater comparison in the authenticity of the articles for the Puritan
community. The Puritans try to live their life as a community, instead of as individuals. Also, the
Puritans tried to live to the godliest standard that they could, and men were held to a higher
standard than women in the community. The textbook and article do a great job in comparing
community, godliness, and superiority in regards to the Puritansociety. According to Steven Mintz

This gave little to no power to the wife or children of the family. According to Mintz and
Kellogg, Patriarchal authority in the Puritan family ultimately rested on the father s control of
landed property or craft skills (61). This shows that the family relied greatly on what the father
offered and gave the family, instead of what each person had to offer. The only way for women
to have any power was to be unwed, or be a widow. According to Mintz and Kellogg, The
experience of widowhood did give a small number of colonial women a taste of economic
independence (65). This shows that women were pretty much property in relation to their husband.
From the textbook, Almost every adult man could speak out and vote in town meetings, but all
women even church members were prohibited from voting (85). This shows that only men could
make laws and had any say in what went on in the community. According to Mintz and Kellogg,
Customarily it was the father, as head of the household, who represented his family at the poll (59).
Again, this quote shows the power that men had in the Puritan society. All of the above quotes do
not show any real independence or equality for the women of the Puritan community, but instead,
show the dominance of being a godly man. Once a woman become married, she became practically
property to the man she had wed. This inequality gave enormous power to the

These sand dunes are important to the coastline and should be protected from these natural
threats. The dunes are important because it is used as a buffer against wave damages caused by
storms, cyclones, king tides, etc. which protects the land behind from salt water intrusions. The
dunes also act as a sand storage area to replenish and maintain the beach at times of erosion. Sand
suns also provide a foundation for ecosystems made up of a wide variety of coastal life. (http:/

away by the cyclones and king tides all the protection that the dunes are providing to the inland is
slowly decreasing because of the erosion that the cyclones and king tides cause. The erosion effects
the foreshore most out of all the parts of the sand dunes. The foreshore is most affected because it is
where the waves are most frequently hitting that part of the sand dunes which means that erosion
will occur faster there. Due to the foreshore wearing away, sand from the foredune and interdune

Tennessee law on advanced directives is a document that tells your family, friends, and doctors

choices or decision. Advance directives is not only for the elderly but it can be at any age even if
you are not sick at the time of the document. This document list the details of treatment that you

In most management, employee motivation and empowerment is vital to growth of an organisation.
In the case study, the company has invested in High Performance Work System (HPWS) that
recognises the role of human capital and its value in the operations of the company, thus they
deserve appropriate incentives. The senior management protects employees from stress and anxiety
through provision of takeover information. This has resulted to flexibility among workers and
efficiency that add value by feedback within the organisation. According to the interview results in
the case study, the company was conducting regular surveys to evaluate employee satisfaction with
salaries. It is evident that employees are motivated through bonuses and a standard pay. Good
incentives address employees needs in a satisfactory manner. The firm therefore spends a good
amount of money putting into employees welfare in order to boost their performance and reward
their efforts. Another financial area of control is within self managed teams where members work
in independent teams. Here, they devote their time and produce quality work and therefore less
need for supervisors to monitor and control their performance. Incentives maximize employees
feelings for empowerment and the urge for clean and productive work. The motivation bonus

Virtual Private Network (VPN) connections are important securities connections for companies.
These connections enable corporations to keep and maintain good relationship with partners,

A REPORT TO INVESTIGATE IMPACTS CRUISING HAS ON THE CARIBBEAN.
1.0TERMS OF REFERENCE
Cruising in the Caribbean has grown rapidly in popularity over recent years, and whilst this is an
advantage from a tourism aspect, it has also brought escalated concerns for many territories in this
region. According to Nagel, G. (1999) tourism in the Caribbean had increased from 5 million to
10.6 million in the space of ten years. Since this had been found in 1996, this number has now
raised to 25 million in the past year. Growing demand for cruise travel means economic
development, environmental degeneration, growth in tourism and pollution are now effected more
predominantly. This report will investigate all impacts effecting the Caribbean and what could be
done to alter those effects that are having a negative impact.

market after the current financial crisis, let us see Russia s case before make a decision. II.
Russia Case Study In energy trade field, Russia, as one of largest energy producers and
exporters, has very similar situation with Canada in energy exports. Both countries are rich in
energy resources and energy exports share significant part of their economic growth. Canada has
largest stable and largest energy consumer U.S. while Russia has the second largest energy
market European countries. Before global financial crisis happened, energy trade is one of the
main reasons driving their economy growth. Russia s energy security depends largely on the
global demand and international energy market price. Thus, Russian energy security is
vulnerable to market forces and benefits from economic stability, particularly that of the
European countries, with whom Russia conducts the majority of its energy trade. Let us see the
history trend of Russia s energy trade during the financial crisis. Russia is the second largest oil
producer and exporter, and the first largest natural gas exporter , while China is the third largest
oil consumer in the world . However, Russia does not like to do the energy trade with China. Free
market does not work well in explaining Russia case. There is only one Russia s pipeline built in

What Internal Pressures Are Impacting On The Organization
Q1 What internal pressures were impacting on the organisation in your situation, and how did the
organisation respond to those pressures?
Kaplan International is the type of company that relies its sales growth on technology. The
organisation uses a wide range of online marketing options in order to get the attention of potential
customers and create lead generation. To create leads is the term the company uses for acquiring a
new potential customers contact details that can lead to a closed deal. As web technology is the
main tool to increase sales, Kaplan International needs to improve their websites constantly by
making them more user friendly. This improvement can go from changing the website s colour to
creating a new navigation structure. And this was the challenge Kaplan International had to face
two months ago, when its growth sales report was released to web marketing and sales department
managers, stating that the sales numbers were lower than last year. According to the report the
current website was not generating as many leads as usual. This change in numbers was the result
of people just clicking on the company s website, but never filling forms in order to request further

The main internal pressure Kaplan International had to confront was to increment its leads. As

Relationships In Shakespeare sTitus Andronicus And Henry...
Shakespeare lights a candle of conflict in the beginning of his plays and appeals to individual
opinions throughout his plot, only to cause the fire of confusion to engulf the reader s mind at
the end. He uses the themes of violence, bravery and lust in his plays, the Titus Andronicus and
Henry IV Part 1, to show the masculinity of the characters. Moreover, he portrays societal
expectations and the father s prejudices as the main culprits for the ill understanding between
the father and the son. How can a father s personal prejudice overpower his love for his child? Is
it the father s greed for respect and societal grandeur that causes a clash between him and his
son? In Titus Andronicus and Henry IV Part 1, Shakespeare sculpts unique and convoluted Father
Son relationships, which are a result of the fathers expectations and their perception of
masculinity. Titus Andronicus introduces the reader to a multifaceted relationship of a father and
a son. In the very first scene of the play, just after Titus says, What, villain, boy / Barr st me my
way in Rome? (1.1.295 96), he kills Mutius, his own son. Titus is not concerned about his daughter
eloping with Bassianus, rather he believes that the ten year long war has won him the ownership
of Rome. His pride cannot let anyone, even his son, stand between him and his prized possession.
Shakespeare uses violence to depict the masculine character of Titus. Titus ego shines more brightly
in these lines than his love for his son.

Pagodas
Pagodas are a well known kind of architectural building that is located all throughout the country of
China. Pagodas have a rich history to China as well, and they have been built all throughout
Chinese history, as many look unique and different, due to their respective dynasties having major
differences in how they built them. While other countries also have pagodas, we will be focusing
only on China s. The first type of pagoda that is considered to be one of the earliest known is
called the close eaved pagoda. A prime example of this pagoda is located at the Chongyusei
Temple in Dengfeng County in the Henan Province of China. The pagoda has twelve sides, built
entirely out of blue bricks, and stands at forty one meters tall while containing fifteen close
eaves. It was built in 523 A.D., and it has ten floors with octagon shaped rooms that are
connected by wooden stairs. It could be speculated that the pagoda was built in a special way, as
it came before concrete was dreamed of, and it is still standing after many years. The next type of
Chinese pagoda is the commonly seen tower pagoda, in which many visitors can climb up upon

Favorite Learning Experience
During my early years of life, I absolutely loved learning new things. I would wonder around the
house and garage and look for items that were interesting. I was a very tactile child, in which I
needed to touch and feel objects and items in order to learn about them. My parents and
grandparents taught me to count at a young age using money and household items. For example,
every morning, I went to McDonalds with my grandfather, and I purchased a cappuccino to take
home for my grandmother. The overall cost of the coffee would be 95 cents, and I would receive
a nickel in change. When we left McDonalds, my grandfather would give me the nickel as long as
I saved the nickels and counted them in the pickup truck. At a young age, I had already learned the
alphabet and numbers. My absolute favorite learningactivity and form of playas a young child
included spending time with my grandfather on the new land, in which I helped build the house. I
followed him around, played on the dirt pile, and was interested in the tools he would use to build
cars and furniture.
From birth to three years old, I was intrigued by toys that played music. For example, I used rattles
to make noise, and I played music with a toy xylophone. My parents and grandparents also assisted
in reading books with sounds and different textures for sensory input. My family also bought me a
musical activity gym where I could flat on my back on a mat with a variety of toys that played
music above me.

wind, dark heavy clouds filled the sky.
There were many roads closed due to flooding so I was forced to cross the towns bridge instead.
The music faded out as the radio spokesperson warned us that the roads would be extra dangerous
today, at the time I thought nothing of it pfft I would never get into any serious trouble.

The music turned back on, I tapped my foot in time with the beat as I crossed the narrow bridge.
The rain roared as it hit my car with force, I could hardly see anything as the water pounded at me.

There was nothing I could do, it was too late. The last minute of the collision was like a dance as
the two vehicles twisted and circled and then embraced each other as they slumped to the
ground with such power. The noise of the crash rang in my ears. Glass flew in every direction. I
screamed over the music. I was paralysed in terror as the heavy metal truck crushed onto the top of
my car. All I could taste in my mouth was the numbing sensation of warm, salty blood. Out of
nowhere the dark red substance was all over me, it oozed from every place of my body. I closed my
eyes and wondered if I was going to die. The last thing I could recall before I passed out was a blue
bird swooping through my car window, then blackness filled my head as it hit the steering

Metropolis Human Identity
What makes a human identity? Well, there are many philosophical suggestions to address this

For example, scientist Rotwang uses the appearance of Maria s body and made a robot Maria.
After he created the robot Maria, Fredersen uses the robot Maria to convince and tighten his
power over the workers. Because the robot Maria looks exactly like the human Maria, the
workers listened to what she had to say like they used to listen the real or the human Maria.
Here, the movie shows that it is the body what makes Maria identifiable that the scientist uses
Maria s body so that the workers see her and identify the body as Maria. The scientist s plan was
successful at the beginning because he convinced the workers to do what the robot Maria has to
say which the human Maria would not say. According to the movie, having the same body is what
makes a person s identity. Even though the workers knew Maria as a peace loving who preached in
front of the cross, when they see the same body with different characteristics that they do not
normally associate with the real Maria, the workers were convinced just by seeing her physical
body. They were fighting with each other when they see the robot Maria dancing lustfully because
they thought that the robot Maria is the human

The Definition of Cyber Attack
The Definition of Cyber Attack
The most important thing that needs to be done before taking the debate on the status of cyber
attacks under international laws of war any forward is to specifically define a cyber attack .
Scholars generally use the terms such as information warfare , cyber warfare , cyber threats ,
computer network attacks , etc as alternatives for cyber attacks without a reference to any particular
definition or limitation of scope. Perhaps this is done on a supposition that a standard definition of
this term is already prevalent. This unfortunately is not true. Speaking specifically about the
literature on cyber attacks, the term is comprehended primarily in two ways: while some talk about
technology and computer networks as instruments of the attack, others use computers and
information technology networks as the objects of the attack.
The difference in the perceptions of cyber attack is rather complicating because it makes the
nature of the operative term cyber all the more ambiguous, causing serious vagueness in any use
of force or armed attack analysis. This becomes particularly problematic when applying any
leading models on the assessment of use of force because these models employ instrumentality,
target and effects as the basis for analysis. Moreover, there must be an understanding of what
exactly is a cyber attack before discussing whether it falls under the use of force notion or not
because it will not only affect the value and

A change in the price of a complementary product (e.g., gasoline, batteries, and tires) could have

manufacturers are building electric car which is generated by batteries. Even with sufficient of

Foundation Design Lessons Learned From The Rion Antirion...
Aseismic foundation design lessons learned from the rion antirion bridge
1 Introduction
The choice of a design concept for designing foundation is decided by various factors such as
environmental conditions, information of the building, construction techniques and constraints at
finance and time. These aspects will be considered more rigid on aseismic foundation designing
which is a very broad activity requiring the synthesis of experience and technical knowledge. These
will be illustrated by an example of solutions adopted for the Rion Antiron Bridge.
2 aseismic foundation design process
The aseismic design for foundation is important so information is required and methods should be
planned at different stage: 1 investigation of environmental conditions of the soil profile
(geotechnical characterization and design seismic conditions)
2 calculation of the magnitude of the loads that will be applied to the foundation soil.
2 investigation of possible solutions 3 information about the required performance and safety
factors of the structure. 3 design phase 4 estimate of deformations. 5 consideration of constraints of
finance and time. 6 decision of the construction.
3 Description of the Rion Antirion Bridge
The Rion Antirion Bridge is located in the Region of Western Greece and crosses the Gulf of
Corinth connection the Peloponnese with mainland Greece. The bridge spans a total length of
2860m which includes a five spans cable stayed bridge 2252m in length and two

Friedrich Weber s Theory Of Psychology
PSYCHOLOGY
Psychology is defined as the study of thought and behavior. A substantial amount of people believes
that psychology is not a specific scientific discipline. Social sciences study humans as individuals or
as groups. The scientific method subsists of five processes, which include observation, prediction,
testing, interpretation, and communication.
Ernst Weber was born 1795 and died 1878, was one of the first developers who planned an
approach and prepared for what was accepted in psychophysics. For example, Weber explored the
littlest adjustment in weights or length that people could anticipate. In 1850, Weber had awareness
that one could exam the psychological and physical creations with his mentor, Gustav Fechner
(1801 1889). Fechner arranged the term psychological for this new development, and went on to
define some of Weber s principles of perception.
Wilhelm Wundt (1832 1920) created the first psychology laboratory in Leipzig, Germany in 1879,
which unfolded psychology into a science. He studied psychology as its ability from philosophy
and physiology. Creating a laboratory, Wundt constructed a place where students could study the
science of psychology. With more than 180 students and over 100 coming from different countries,
the students took in the knowledge of experimental psychology under Wundt s instruction.
William James (1842 1910) was known as the Father of American psychology, who studied with

Mobile Cloud Technology And Technology
Abstract the great emergence of mobile cloud computing has gained lots of interest in these
recent years. Mobile cloud computing consists of mobile devices and cloud computing offering
mobile cloud environment by using a huge number of different mobile devices. Any device uses
mobility such as laptops, tablets, and smart phones is considered as a mobile device. Due to the
great improvement of wireless networks like 4G and the expansion of use of mobile device, many
researchers are interested to provide different methods to use mobile resources for distributed
processes to compute many applications in mobile cloud environment. Although the last mobile
devices have improved processing power, there are some limitations in power capacity,
unpredictable network conditions, and connections availability that must be considered in order to
use mobile devices as resource. These dynamic changes may disconnect a mobile device from the
cloud computing and then prevent applications from completion. In other words, these problems
may cause a system to fault more frequently due to these changes. Therefore, in order to increase
the stability of these devices, there should be a monitoring technique to tolerate system faults. In
this paper, we focus on Markov Chain, which precisely collects and analyzes the information of
states and proactively predicts the status of future state in order to solve the volatility and instability
of mobile devices. Also, we study two fault tolerant methods,

Military Tattoos
In an attempt to rectify this, some employers will hire people who do have tattoos and certain
piercings, usually ones that do not live big gaping holes exposed on your face when you take
them out, but will then ask them to cover up. A reasonable compromise, but it still feels like a
censorship is in the works at that point, but this is suitable for now in the movement. However in
certain jobs wearing a long sleeve shirt to cover up a tattoosleeve can be harmful to the worker.
Such situations would be those who have to work in an outdoor environment during the sweltering
summers, such as my job with the city, but luckily I only have tattoos that are covered up by a
short sleeved shirt.
And some of these businesses include areas of the police force and the military. Captain Mark
Strobridge of the Orange County Sheriff s stated, What we re seeing is a trend, with younger
people coming out of the military and they re getting more tattoos. We find highly qualified
individuals, but their appearance is not in keeping with grooming standards for law enforcement
(Reed). And a dress code brought in by the military and police force may very well be endangering
the health of these forces. Corporal John Park mark remarked that, We fought long and hard to get a

In many cases, it has been the awareness that change was even happening at all, the

change in the structure and behavior of the society in which you live. I mean new philosophies as
well as new gadgets. I m not saying that the appreciation of change is easy; far from it, particularly
today. As one of your more respectable social forecasters said recently, If you understand something

Core Concepts and Theory in the Transpersonal Approach to...
ASSIGNMENT 2
What are some of the core concepts and theory when considering the transpersonal approach?
The work of the transpersonal draws largely from mainstream psychological concepts and theory in
order to ground its practice in science. However, unlike mainstream psychological paradigms, the
transpersonal acknowledges that our essential nature is spiritual (Phoenix Institute of Australia,
2012) and that as human beings we have valid urges towards the spiritual (Phoenix Institute of
Australia, 2012). The transpersonal approach is based on this notion of the spiritual self as the
foundation for our psychological structure of the self and therefore proposes that we exist
simultaneously in a multitude of realities, including ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It includes mystical, spiritual and religious experiences as well as sharing much common ground
with consciousness studies and humanistic psychology. Transpersonal experiences can be
interpreted either religiously or non religiously according to individual preference (Walsh, 1993).
Founder of Humanistic and later Transpersonal Psychology Abraham Maslowtheorized that the
approach of the transpersonal does not oppose that of Freud; it offers a complementary viewpoint,
which assists in recognizing the full range and variety of transpersonal experience (Daniels, 2005)
and focuses on the human origins, significance and value of transpersonal phenomena (Daniels,
2005). Whilst psychoanalysis was part of a biomedical, reductionist model which did not
encompass the full spectrum of states of consciousness, nor did it acknowledge the spiritual self, it
provided a basic framework for the psychological structure of the self, later understood by the
transpersonal to rest on the foundations of the spiritual self.
The notion of the psychological self and the spiritual self stems from the assumption of the
transpersonal that we exist simultaneously in multiple realities. The realities of the body, the mind,
the spirit, emotion, imagination and science are all part of a rich tapestry, which inform and shape
our life story or journey. Transpersonal work uses this

Using Utilitarian Ethicals to Determine Right From Wrong...
Introduction
In 1975 the board of directors for a company that makes transistors were presented with an ethical
dilemma. They were the last transistor company that was selling to a pacemaker company as a
result of other companies backing out of the business due to the failure of some pacemakers
leading to deaths of some of those who used them. At the time, pacemaker technology was
extremely new and had yet to develop into the ground breaking product that it is today. The ethical
dilemma presented to the board was whether or not to continue to sell their transistor to the
company and risk the negative connotation and ultimately the loss of shareholders in the company,
associated with the deaths that occurred (Shanks, 1996). This ... Show more content on

The second issue to be analyzed counters that possible result. If the transistor company were to
continue in business then there lies the opportunity to save countless lives that could benefit
greatly due to the technology. Yes, the company is putting itself at risk, but for the result of saving
people who really need pacemakers. It is known that pacemakers have failed before, but it can be
assumed that the aforementioned pacemakers did not have this company s transistor in it or else
they most likely would ve already left the contract. That being said, there is the possibility that the
other transistors that were being used were just poorly made (Shanks, 1996). As a result of this, the
main Utilitarian issue being presented is does the company end the contract and not take the
unnecessary risk associated, or do they continue the contract and potentially save countless lives?
Bentham s Advice to the Company Jeremy Bentham defined Utilitarian ethics as we are to promote
pleasure and act to reduce pain. (Driver, 2009). Bentham defined these ethics by taking into account
an array of parameters that included intensity, certainty, proximity, fecundity, purity and the amount
of people affected by a given decision (Driver, 2009).
Analyzing these parameters, it is clear to say Bentham would give the advice of staying with the
contract. By staying with the contract, the

  • 2. Human Nature Of Curiosity Curiosity within Curiosity is human nature that people are born with. From the moment someone is born they becomes curious of all their surroundings and what they can do. Curiosity also leads to instability because every one becomes curious sooner, and or later someone will break the rules or do something they aren t supposed to. Also, if one realizes they aren t really happy then they will become curious and try to find something that will make them happy. This will lead to instability in society where a small amount of people like a certain thing and others don t. It will all lead to people arguing and destroying the so called perfection that they have reached. Therefore, stability will never be reached because of people s curiosity, and because of society s will of trying to be perfect which makes it imperfect. In the World State everyone has a certain job to do and the people are separated according to their caste system, there are Alphas, Betas, Gammas, Deltas, and Epsilons. They are ordered from higher class to lower class but this doesn t stop curiosity between all of them. There are some people in the World State that experience curiosity. Bernard Marx is one of the few that are really experiencing curiosity and want something different. A great example is when he begins to feel something for Lenina and when they are on a date he asks Don t you wish you were free Lenina (91). He is not the only one though Lenina is also experiencing different emotions and she is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Destruction Of Salem By Arthur Miller Armania Heckenmueller Mrs. Hagerty H English II 2EF 11/23/15 The Destruction of Salem Through Greed and Vengeance in The Crucible During the time The Crucible was set, the community of Salem was awry. It did not have the solid characteristics of what a healthy town should look like. Instead there was no trust between people, everyone was watching out for only themselves, and most of the townspeople were turning their backs on the disastrous deeds of the court. The people of Salem feel like they have no one to turn to, so fear crept into their minds and hearts. They developed hysteria which caused the town to slowly disintegrate. This panic allows other people in their community to take advantage of them and manipulate them for their own purposes. In his play, The Crucible, Arthur Miller shows how vengeance and greed destroy the community through the characters of Abigail Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Putnam, and Reverend Parris. Abigail Williams is a great example of how vengefulness undermines the court s authority. Abigail Williams, a girl who has an endless capacity for dissembling (Act I), seeks revenge not only through the court system, but through Tituba, her slave, and the girls she manipulates. Jealous of Elizabeth Proctor, who she thought was a cold, sniveling woman (Act I), for firing her after learning of her affair with her husband John Proctor, Abigail sees no other method to regain her lover other than killing his wife. After Abigail comes to this conclusion ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Doctor Who Origin We are well within the one week countdown mark to possibly one of the most hyped series of Doctor Who in the show s five decade history. On the face of it, the series looks to be like any other. One with lots of monsters, mystery and adventure. Also with the important point of it being another Moffat series to add to his collection (which isn t a terrible collection at that). So, what makes Series 9 that much more gripping, even before it airs? What have got Whovians the world over raving about the series during the tenth anniversary year of the revival? Well in this article, you will find all the answers to that question in six parts, and perhaps more reasons to declare it one of the greatest series yet if it delivers on all aspects. Two parters ... However, the majority of the episodes weren t even originally written for a Doctor of Peter s ilk, which was never really publicised at the time, so the majority didn t know. They were all Matt Smith scripts. This meant there were inconsistencies in my opinion in the way Twelfth was played. It was as if in certain episodes he was one way, then the next few he was something else. It was a jumbled characterisation at the time. That is all change this year, as it truly is the time of the Twelfth Doctor. The scripts have been manufactured exactly to the new Doctor s character, which promises more differences, but also more consistency in his character this time around. We will be getting a more identifiable portrayal of the Twelfth Doctor himself. Peter is now far more comfortable in the role, and he will no doubt be giving it the best he has got, which is a lot! He will be sensational, and with trusted companion Clara in a less commanding position this time around. The beauty of the Twelfth Doctor s character will shine ever brighter. He looks to be a splendid mix of fun, dark, adventurous and damn likeable too. Get ready for a new take on the now classic hero to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Police Brutality And Its Effects Police brutality is a phenomena that is documented throughout a myriad of societies from Russia, China, Indonesia, Palestine, Egypt to the United States. Police brutality is the use of force which exceeds what is needed in order to accomplish a legal police purpose.Throughout America s history, minorities, specifically Black people, have been the disproportionate target of policebrutality. Amnesty International has documented several examples of police brutality, including instances of beatings, unjustified shootings, and excessively forceful detention methods which merit concern (Amnesty 1999).The pervasiveness of police shootings of citizens has been widely publicized in the media and stresses the fact that this is a national problem. While these occurrences are relatively infrequent the lack of any solution or way to minimize brutality has been an ongoing criticism by citizens and others of the United States police force. The term excessive force is utilized frequently, although there is no concrete definition of this term as it is subjective (Police Use of Excessive Force in Minority Communities). The use of force is either appropriate or excessive depending on if the use of force is necessary and justified for the officer to complete his job (Police Use of Excessive Force in Minority Communities). The use of deadly force is justified by law if the officer feels he or others are under imminent threat. There are many high profile cases of the use of excessive and ... • 6. Compare And Contrast Iroquois And Delian League Two of the most iconic confederacies in history, the Iroquois and Delian League have shaped the cultural landscapes of North America and Greece respectively. Despite the similar democratic principles in both regions, the confederacies incentives for their beginnings were vastly different, as the Iroquois was seen to sustain internal safety with expansionist policies, while the Delian League was to resist external pressure without any imperialist motives. The beginnings of the Iroquois confederacy were triggered by the prevalent ethnic tensions between the many nations in the North American region. Established prior to European contact in the 1450s, the idea of a confederacy was masterminded by the Peacemaker, commonly known as Dekadawina. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kinship was traced through the female line, as the Western headed father figure consisted of the progeny of the woman and her female descendants. On a macro scale, the family was integrated into a system of clans, clans into nations, and ethnic groups into the confederation. This confederation featured a system known as the Grand Council , where each associated family would be placed in a hierarchy. The hierarchy would dictate the tasks each family or nation would be responsible for. Within the council itself, the decision making process resembles that of a two house congress in one body, with the older brothers , the nations of the Mohawk and Onondaga, and younger brothers , the nations of the Cayuga and Oneida each comprising a side of the house. Between these two distinct houses, the older brothers of the Mohawk and Onondaga occupy an executive role, hence its name, and possess a veto that could be overridden by both the younger brothers as part of the process. The resulting decision by the Mohawk and Onondaga are not final, however, as the head chief of the organization, known as the Hononwiretonh, whose duty is to sit and listen to the debate, is the final voice within this decision process. As can be seen, this legislative system provides for numerous checks and balances of power and depends on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Analysis Of The Film Chocolat The foreign film that I chose to review was Chocolat, which was released in 2000 and was directed by Lasse HallstrГ¶m. This film followed the story of Vianne Rocher (Juliette Binoche) and her young daughter Anouk (Victoire Thivisol), set in France about fifteen years after World War 2. They wandered around Europe, guided by the north wind, and they come across a small village. There, they opened up La Chocolaterie Maya, a chocolatier. The mayor, Comte de Reyaud (Alfred Molina) was very displeased with this since the town was steeped in strict tradition and was just starting to observe Lent. Her chocolate began to change the lives of everyone in the town, broke down barriers, renewed marriages, and freed people. The film ended with Vianne and her daughter settling down in the town for the first time, instead of moving on with the north wind and the town was changed forever. This film was based in France and the majority of the film was shot in the village of Flavigny sur Ozerain in Burgundy, France. The language that was spoken in the film was English with a strong French accent. There were some French words throughout the film and all the names such as the people, the village, and the businesses were French. There were several messages that the filmmakers were trying to communicate. One of these messages was that stereotypes are not always correct. Each time the person used the stolen card it is a separate charge against them. It doesn t get grouped into one charge of identity theft. • 12. The Effect Of Boiling Points Of Distilled Water And Water... Physics IA Effects on the Boiling Point of water Tymoteusz Merchel Haupt, 5 The objective of my experiment is to identify the relationship between the definite boiling points of distilled water, and water that has been mixed with our everyday table salt. In this experiment, the Independent Variable will be the amount of salt I have added to the constant( our water), and the Dependent Variable will be the boiling temperaturethat it reaches. Introduction: According to the Department of Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, adding salt to water increases the overall boiling point, thus reducing cooking time. It s important to know that it does not actually speed up the boiling point, but increases the maximum temperature. To prove this concept, we will be investigating How [does] the increase in salt (IDV) affect the boiling temperature of water (DV)? . Research Question: How does the increase in salt (IDV) affect the boiling temperature of water (DV)? Design: Variables: Independent: Salt (Will be added in at different supplements) Dependent: Boiling Temperature ( Will hypothetically will change) Controlled: The amount of pure (distilled) water used in every experiment ... • 17. Pros And Cons Of Pelagianism In the years following 400 AD, the ideas of the monk Pelagius spawned a heresy that still affects people of the church today. Pelagianism holds that a man can take the initial and fundamental steps toward salvation by his own efforts, apart from God s Divine Grace (Slick). In a nutshell, Pelagius heresy states that man doesn t need help from Godto be able to live a holy life and to get into heaven. Despite the heresy seeming to have nearly died out, it merely evolved into smaller actions that allow it to slowly take hold of our lives. As Thomas Aquinas once stated, heresies are a species of unbelief, and like other species, heresies like pelagianism will adapt in order to survive. Pope Francis made the comments he did about Pelagianism to make it known how it can sneak into our lives and, in addition, presents how we personally can avoid any further confusion. While Pelagianism may have began many years ago, it still has a large enough influence to cause Pope Francis to speak out against it today. While with certain institutions when a problem arises, it is swept under the carpet and ignored, Pope Francis did the exact opposite and recognizes Pelagianism as a issue within the Church. The Holy Father shines the light back on this heresy and presents how Christians today are not knowingly having beliefs that are Pelagianistic. To help clear confusion, Pope Francis shows us how we can t solely rely on ourselves for salvation and that we can always find help through God. We have to remember that if Jesusdid not die for our sins, we would not have the chance to enter Heaven. So if we take God out of salvation, then why would have Jesus died to save us from our ... Fluid Properties Density and Surface Tension Expirement 1 Fluid Properties: Density and Surface Tension Table of Contents: OBJECTIVE1 THEORY2 3 PROCEDURE4 6 RESULTS7 8 DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION9 APPENDIX10 OBJECT: The object of this experiment was to determine the density of a fluid by performing three different methods and use that determined density to calculate the surface tension of the fluid. THEORY: The density of any substance is defined as the mass per unit volume and is denoted by ПЃ.ПЃ = m / V (1) m is the mass of a substance and V is the volume occupied by the mass. The density of a liquid remains sensibly constant because the volume occupied by a given mass of a liquid is almost invariable. From this it may be noted that a liquid may be taken as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The apparent surface tension must undergo correction to obtain the actual value for the surface tension of the fluid. To obtain the correction factor the equation F = 0.725 + [ 0.0004033 ( Пѓa / ПЃ ) + 0.04534 1.679 ( r / R ) ]1/2 (7) must be executed. F is the correction factor and (r/R) is the ratio found on the ring container specific to the type of metal used to form the ring. Once the correction factor is obtained, the actual surface tension for the liquid can be found by Пѓ = F * Пѓa (8) Procedure: Part 1, Density Measurement Equipment: * Graduated Cylinder * 250mL Graduated Beaker * Fresh Mountain Strawberry shampoo * Mettler Toledo MS 3002S/03 Digital Scale * Mettler Toledo PB153 S/ Fact Hanging Mass Scale * Fisher Hydrometer Cylinder 11 583 D Method 1: 1. • 20. Difference Between Formal And Informal Imperialism DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FORMAL AND INFORMAL IMPERIALISM Name University Course Tutor Date Difference between formal and informal imperialism Throughout the history of the world, different kingdoms have been competing to expand their territories. In most cases, the expansion of theses territories has been at the expense of weaker territories that are incapable of fighting back effectively owing to different barriers . For example, the Mongols expanded their territory in less than a hundred years to over 6,000 miles using lightning fast archers who rode on horsebacks . An irrefutable fact about empires is the fact that they never hold together for long as they fall apart. However, as time has been passing, changes have been exhibited in the empires that are being formed. As such, historians normally divide imperialism into two types , formal, as well as informal imperialism. Consequently, this article explains the differences that exist between formal imperialism and informal imperialism by use of examples. To begin with, the literal meanings of the two types of imperialism act as a difference between them. For instance, informal imperialism may be taken to signify an authority without any trace of formality, also without any fixed rules set to control. As a matter of fact, it may be defined to be an authority without the usual forms that symbolize authority . Clearly, this is the opposite of all the values that formal imperialism encompasses. Formal imperialism creates a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The title of the article is Factors Linked to Dominance Aggression in Dogs and has been taken from the Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances, Volume 8, Issue 2. The page numbers for the article are 336 342 and the publish date is 2009. The main aim of this study was to determine factors that might be linked to dominance aggression in pet dogs. The research carried out was qualitative and involves the use of surveys and interviews, and explores certain factors relating to a topic. Qualitative methods, such as interviews, are believed to provide a deeper understanding of social phenomena than would be obtained from purely quantitative methods (Gill et al., 2008). There was significant association between certain dog behaviour patterns and higher levels of dominance aggression. As a whole, the research method and survey appears to have been considerably well done with only a few adjustments to be made if it were to be repeated or further investigated. The methodology for this article has both good and bad points to consider. For example the sample size is very large and a total of 711 dogs were involved, with an equal amount (give or take a few) of male and female dogs taking part. Only owners with dogs older than 12 months were interviewed and there was a mixture of both pure bred and mixed breed dogs. A total of 47 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Ponca tribe started out in Minnesota, and in the early 1700 s they were relocated to western banks of the Missouri River into present day Nebraska. They settled along the Ponca Creek in Knox County Nebraska located in the northeastern part of the state. The Ponca tribe had a rough road to finally settling in Nebraska, and Oklahoma. According to Mintz and Kellogg, Patriarchal authority in the Puritan family ultimately rested on the father s control of landed property or craft skills (61). This shows that the family relied greatly on what the father offered and gave the family, instead of what each person had to offer. The only way for women to have any power was to be unwed, or be a widow. According to Mintz and Kellogg, The experience of widowhood did give a small number of colonial women a taste of economic independence (65). This shows that women were pretty much property in relation to their husband. From the textbook, Almost every adult man could speak out and vote in town meetings, but all women even church members were prohibited from voting (85). This shows that only men could make laws and had any say in what went on in the community. According to Mintz and Kellogg, Customarily it was the father, as head of the household, who represented his family at the poll (59). Again, this quote shows the power that men had in the Puritan society. All of the above quotes do not show any real independence or equality for the women of the Puritan community, but instead, show the dominance of being a godly man. Canada has largest stable and largest energy consumer U.S. while Russia has the second largest energy market European countries. Before global financial crisis happened, energy trade is one of the main reasons driving their economy growth. Russia s energy security depends largely on the global demand and international energy market price. Thus, Russian energy security is vulnerable to market forces and benefits from economic stability, particularly that of the European countries, with whom Russia conducts the majority of its energy trade. Let us see the history trend of Russia s energy trade during the financial crisis. Russia is the second largest oil producer and exporter, and the first largest natural gas exporter , while China is the third largest oil consumer in the world . However, Russia does not like to do the energy trade with China. Free market does not work well in explaining Russia case. What Internal Pressures Are Impacting On The Organization Q1 What internal pressures were impacting on the organisation in your situation, and how did the organisation respond to those pressures? Kaplan International is the type of company that relies its sales growth on technology. The organisation uses a wide range of online marketing options in order to get the attention of potential customers and create lead generation. To create leads is the term the company uses for acquiring a new potential customers contact details that can lead to a closed deal. As web technology is the main tool to increase sales, Kaplan International needs to improve their websites constantly by making them more user friendly. This improvement can go from changing the website s colour to creating a new navigation structure. And this was the challenge Kaplan International had to face two months ago, when its growth sales report was released to web marketing and sales department managers, stating that the sales numbers were lower than last year. According to the report the current website was not generating as many leads as usual. This change in numbers was the result of people just clicking on the company s website, but never filling forms in order to request further product information. The main internal pressure Kaplan International had to confront was to increment its leads. As technology affects most operations within Kaplan International, effective decision making was crucial for the company s improvement. Key questions such as: How do we ... • 40. Relationships In Shakespeare sTitus Andronicus And Henry... Shakespeare lights a candle of conflict in the beginning of his plays and appeals to individual opinions throughout his plot, only to cause the fire of confusion to engulf the reader s mind at the end. He uses the themes of violence, bravery and lust in his plays, the Titus Andronicus and Henry IV Part 1, to show the masculinity of the characters. Moreover, he portrays societal expectations and the father s prejudices as the main culprits for the ill understanding between the father and the son. How can a father s personal prejudice overpower his love for his child? Is it the father s greed for respect and societal grandeur that causes a clash between him and his son? In Titus Andronicus and Henry IV Part 1, Shakespeare sculpts unique and convoluted Father Son relationships, which are a result of the fathers expectations and their perception of masculinity. Titus Andronicus introduces the reader to a multifaceted relationship of a father and a son. In the very first scene of the play, just after Titus says, What, villain, boy / Barr st me my way in Rome? (1.1.295 96), he kills Mutius, his own son. Titus is not concerned about his daughter eloping with Bassianus, rather he believes that the ten year long war has won him the ownership of Rome. His pride cannot let anyone, even his son, stand between him and his prized possession. Shakespeare uses violence to depict the masculine character of Titus. Titus ego shines more brightly in these lines than his love for his son. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I was a very tactile child, in which I needed to touch and feel objects and items in order to learn about them. My parents and grandparents taught me to count at a young age using money and household items. For example, every morning, I went to McDonalds with my grandfather, and I purchased a cappuccino to take home for my grandmother. The overall cost of the coffee would be 95 cents, and I would receive a nickel in change. When we left McDonalds, my grandfather would give me the nickel as long as I saved the nickels and counted them in the pickup truck. At a young age, I had already learned the alphabet and numbers. My absolute favorite learningactivity and form of playas a young child included spending time with my grandfather on the new land, in which I helped build the house. I followed him around, played on the dirt pile, and was interested in the tools he would use to build cars and furniture. From birth to three years old, I was intrigued by toys that played music. For example, I used rattles to make noise, and I played music with a toy xylophone. My parents and grandparents also assisted in reading books with sounds and different textures for sensory input. There were many roads closed due to flooding so I was forced to cross the towns bridge instead. The music faded out as the radio spokesperson warned us that the roads would be extra dangerous today, at the time I thought nothing of it pfft I would never get into any serious trouble. • 45. The Definition of Cyber Attack The Definition of Cyber Attack The most important thing that needs to be done before taking the debate on the status of cyber attacks under international laws of war any forward is to specifically define a cyber attack . Scholars generally use the terms such as information warfare , cyber warfare , cyber threats , computer network attacks , etc as alternatives for cyber attacks without a reference to any particular definition or limitation of scope. Perhaps this is done on a supposition that a standard definition of this term is already prevalent. This unfortunately is not true. Speaking specifically about the literature on cyber attacks, the term is comprehended primarily in two ways: while some talk about technology and computer networks as instruments of the attack, others use computers and information technology networks as the objects of the attack. The difference in the perceptions of cyber attack is rather complicating because it makes the nature of the operative term cyber all the more ambiguous, causing serious vagueness in any use of force or armed attack analysis. This becomes particularly problematic when applying any leading models on the assessment of use of force because these models employ instrumentality, target and effects as the basis for analysis. Moreover, there must be an understanding of what exactly is a cyber attack before discussing whether it falls under the use of force notion or not because it will not only affect the value and ... • 48. Friedrich Weber s Theory Of Psychology PSYCHOLOGY Psychology is defined as the study of thought and behavior. A substantial amount of people believes that psychology is not a specific scientific discipline. Social sciences study humans as individuals or as groups. The scientific method subsists of five processes, which include observation, prediction, testing, interpretation, and communication. Ernst Weber was born 1795 and died 1878, was one of the first developers who planned an approach and prepared for what was accepted in psychophysics. For example, Weber explored the littlest adjustment in weights or length that people could anticipate. In 1850, Weber had awareness that one could exam the psychological and physical creations with his mentor, Gustav Fechner (1801 1889). Fechner arranged the term psychological for this new development, and went on to define some of Weber s principles of perception. Wilhelm Wundt (1832 1920) created the first psychology laboratory in Leipzig, Germany in 1879, which unfolded psychology into a science. He studied psychology as its ability from philosophy and physiology. Creating a laboratory, Wundt constructed a place where students could study the science of psychology. With more than 180 students and over 100 coming from different countries, the students took in the knowledge of experimental psychology under Wundt s instruction. Mobile cloud computing consists of mobile devices and cloud computing offering mobile cloud environment by using a huge number of different mobile devices. Any device uses mobility such as laptops, tablets, and smart phones is considered as a mobile device. Due to the great improvement of wireless networks like 4G and the expansion of use of mobile device, many researchers are interested to provide different methods to use mobile resources for distributed processes to compute many applications in mobile cloud environment. Although the last mobile devices have improved processing power, there are some limitations in power capacity, unpredictable network conditions, and connections availability that must be considered in order to use mobile devices as resource. These dynamic changes may disconnect a mobile device from the cloud computing and then prevent applications from completion. In other words, these problems may cause a system to fault more frequently due to these changes. Therefore, in order to increase the stability of these devices, there should be a monitoring technique to tolerate system faults. In this paper, we focus on Markov Chain, which precisely collects and analyzes the information of states and proactively predicts the status of future state in order to solve the volatility and instability of mobile devices. Our general relationship with the present accelerating rate of change reminds me of the postcard from the patient on holiday to his psychiatrist at home: Having a wonderful time. Why? • 57. Core Concepts and Theory in the Transpersonal Approach to... ASSIGNMENT 2 What are some of the core concepts and theory when considering the transpersonal approach? The work of the transpersonal draws largely from mainstream psychological concepts and theory in order to ground its practice in science. However, unlike mainstream psychological paradigms, the transpersonal acknowledges that our essential nature is spiritual (Phoenix Institute of Australia, 2012) and that as human beings we have valid urges towards the spiritual (Phoenix Institute of Australia, 2012). The transpersonal approach is based on this notion of the spiritual self as the foundation for our psychological structure of the self and therefore proposes that we exist simultaneously in a multitude of realities, including ... Transpersonal experiences can be interpreted either religiously or non religiously according to individual preference (Walsh, 1993). Founder of Humanistic and later Transpersonal Psychology Abraham Maslowtheorized that the approach of the transpersonal does not oppose that of Freud; it offers a complementary viewpoint, which assists in recognizing the full range and variety of transpersonal experience (Daniels, 2005) and focuses on the human origins, significance and value of transpersonal phenomena (Daniels, 2005). Whilst psychoanalysis was part of a biomedical, reductionist model which did not encompass the full spectrum of states of consciousness, nor did it acknowledge the spiritual self, it provided a basic framework for the psychological structure of the self, later understood by the transpersonal to rest on the foundations of the spiritual self. The notion of the psychological self and the spiritual self stems from the assumption of the transpersonal that we exist simultaneously in multiple realities. The realities of the body, the mind, the spirit, emotion, imagination and science are all part of a rich tapestry, which inform and shape our life story or journey. Transpersonal work uses this ... • 58. Using Utilitarian Ethicals to Determine Right From Wrong... Introduction In 1975 the board of directors for a company that makes transistors were presented with an ethical dilemma. They were the last transistor company that was selling to a pacemaker company as a result of other companies backing out of the business due to the failure of some pacemakers leading to deaths of some of those who used them. At the time, pacemaker technology was extremely new and had yet to develop into the ground breaking product that it is today. The ethical dilemma presented to the board was whether or not to continue to sell their transistor to the company and risk the negative connotation and ultimately the loss of shareholders in the company, associated with the deaths that occurred (Shanks, 1996). This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second issue to be analyzed counters that possible result. If the transistor company were to continue in business then there lies the opportunity to save countless lives that could benefit greatly due to the technology. Yes, the company is putting itself at risk, but for the result of saving people who really need pacemakers. It is known that pacemakers have failed before, but it can be assumed that the aforementioned pacemakers did not have this company s transistor in it or else they most likely would ve already left the contract. That being said, there is the possibility that the other transistors that were being used were just poorly made (Shanks, 1996). As a result of this, the main Utilitarian issue being presented is does the company end the contract and not take the unnecessary risk associated, or do they continue the contract and potentially save countless lives? Bentham s Advice to the Company Jeremy Bentham defined Utilitarian ethics as we are to promote pleasure and act to reduce pain. (Driver, 2009). Bentham defined these ethics by taking into account an array of parameters that included intensity, certainty, proximity, fecundity, purity and the amount of people affected by a given decision (Driver, 2009). Analyzing these parameters, it is clear to say Bentham would give the advice of staying with the contract. By staying with the contract, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 59. Important To Me ME: Is being a good team player important to you? HIM: I believe being a team player involves acting in the best interest of the company, while maintaining a stake in your own best interest and career. But in the fast paced world of Information Technology and Managed Services being a team player is crucial for many reasons. To me, being a team player is important because it creates synergy where the sum is ultimately greater than the parts, and this helps to support a more empowered way of working, removing constraints which may prevent someone doing their job properly. For my company this has also helped to promote flatter and leaner structure, with less hierarchy. ME: That s great, is there anything else you find important about being a ... Once we got the company rolling and started taking on clients my friend quickly realized that his overhead was much more than he had intended for it to be this early on. And ultimately if we didn t start taking on revenue quickly the boat was going to sink at harbor so to speak. To help with this I offered to work for a stake in the company and cut my normal salary down to almost nothing until we got the company back above water. This enabled him to bring on some lower level employees to help with the day to day operations and let us focus on building the business further and gathering more clientele. We took the company from a 150k startup to a little over 5 million in yearly revenue in a little over 3 years. But my sacrifice for the team which caused me tons of headaches and months of living on a budget ultimately payed me out very nicely when we were acquired in our fourth year of operations by the company You and I both work for ...
