Foot Locker: Second major competitor of Dick s Sporting Goods is Foot Locker. According to Yahoo

and was founded in 1974. The company operates as a retailer of athletic footwear. Foot Locker sells
more athletic shoes than any other retailer in the U.S. As of January 28, 2012, it operated 3,369 stores
in 23 countries including North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. The company employs
13,080 associates as of 2012. According to Wiki Invest, in 2006, Foot Locker s company wide
operating margin dropped; so the company decided to close numerous stores in order to improve
profitability. The company developed a strategy to open new stores, relocate existing stores, and close
down the weak stores. The strategy continued throughout 2007 and 2008. However, Foot Locker
experienced another decrease in 2008, generating only $5.24 billion in total revenue, which was a
3.7% decrease from their 2007 sales. Struggles continued in 2009 as retail revenue dropped to $4.85
billion, however, its net income increased compared to the $ 80 million the previous year. Finally,
Foot Locker experienced a strong third quarter due to a combination of strong

Why Kids Should Not Participate In Extreme Sports
According to the study of seven X Game sports the extreme athletes suffer about four million injuries
between 2000 and 2011.Children should not participate in extreme sports. Children could get hurt.
Tarshis states Jeff Eaton attempted a move and nearly died. Jeff Eaton suffered a series of injuries
such as a fractured skull, a concussion, and a bruised brain. He also had a seizure caused by a trauma
to his brain. As a result, he got injured badly. Tarshis states kids tend to think what is happening this
minute, not what could happen from an hour from now. Says phychologist Jesse Mathews. As a result
kids will just think about the fun that minute and not an hour from now so kids may get injured.

Planaria Regeneration Lab Report

Dr. Jones Held
This article studies the ability of regeneration possessed by the planaria. Morgan (1898) observes in
different methods how the planaria are cut into smaller pieces, and then he observes the pieces to see
if the planaria will regenerate. When the planaria are cut near the head, the pieces do not appear to
regenerate, and the pieces cut too small also do not possess the ability to regenerate (Morgan, 1898).
Pieces cut from the middle and the end piece of the planaria, however, have shown results of
respawning from within the old tissue. When the author tried to fuse two sampled pieces together, he
observed that the pieces formed a union (Morgan, 1898). However, the fusion did not last long, and
the pieces died long after fusing together (Morgan, 1898). It is likely that the samples were not able to
complete the regeneration after the union emerged. I will be able to use this report for my lab report as
a reference to the process of taking samples from a live planaria, sampled from the likely ... Show

The Goldsmith (1934) study analyzes the separation of multiple samples of DNA from one planaria

planaria regeneration process have the ability to cause new flesh, in this case the possibility of another
limb or head, to grow during the regeneration of a planaria. I would be able to use this in my lab report

The Article Being Poor, Black And Americ Impact Of...
Introduction
The article Being Poor, Black and American: The Impact of Political, Economic, and Cultural Forces
written by William Julius Wilson is about the struggles and inequalities African Americans living in
poverty encounter. Wilson discussed political, economic and cultural forces that have an impact on
American impoverished communities. The author suggested the natural disaster of Hurricane Katrina
brought the media and world attention to poverty in the United States. Prior to Katrina, the author
believes Americans did not focus or sympathize with poor communities. This unsympathetic attitude
stems from the belief that people are poor because they did not work hard enough, or are not doing
anything to get out of that situation. After Katrina, Americans started to notice and care about the
impoverished communities because the hurricane was a natural disaster and out of their control.
Overall, the author explains how politics, economics and cultures forced many families into poverty,
and diminishes the idea that people live in poverty because of their own shortcomings.
Political Force
The author explained how the government established policies and initiatives that created ghettos and
suburbs. The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) is a program that helped citizens become
homeowners by lending loans. However, only certain neighborhoods qualified for those loans.
Research and data were used to prove that certain areas were considered a loss of investment. The

Meaning Of Happiness In Brave New World
The true meaning of happiness is different for everyone. For most people, it is feeling satisfied with
every aspect of their life. The society of Brave New World does not know the true meaning of
happiness because they have never had any form of true conflict show up their lives. When trouble
comes up in their life, they avoid fixing it by taking soma. By taking soma, they base their happiness
off a fake reality, therefore, it creates no true relief. Not having any form of conflict in their life creates
a problem within itself because then they never get to experience true joy. People of the World State
have no feelings because they were conditioned from birth to not value or worry about anything. In
the scene when Lenina was telling Fanny that she was not comfortable with promiscuity, Fanny
deemphasized Lenina s feelings and told her it was wrong to have sentimental value towards one
another: Everybody belongs to everyone else. (Huxley 43). In other words, Fanny told Lenina that she
does not need to value anyone, nor does anyone need to value her. The government has established
that having feelings towards another person causes social instability. The ... Show more content on

says to them one of the chants they use to provide demand for industrial goods: Ending is better than
mending (Huxley 49). Explaining that phrase further, they would rather act like the problem is not
there instead of mending the situation. They will never be able to feel satisfaction and relief because
the situation has not been solved. If people that lived in the 1930s ignored the problem of the
Holocaust, it would most likely still be going on today with an even more damaging outcome. Since
the community of the World State were conditioned to not have feelings, they do not feel any reason

Breastfeeding Is A Controversial Topic Over The Years
The practice of breastfeeding has become a very controversial topic over the years due to the creation
of alternatives to breast milk, increase in working mothers, and other reasons. Much research shows
that due to a variety of cultural, ethical, and economic reasons women should be encouraged to
breastfeed for a specific duration of time, while others believe that this is unnecessary. Based on these
three societal sectors, should women be encouraged to breastfeed? If so, for how long should they
breastfeed? Since the beginning of humans/ mankind breastfeeding has been practiced by mothers.
Stevens and colleagues (2009) tell us the following information (pp. 32 39): Since the beginning of
humans life on Earth, there have always been a number of alternatives used to provide nutrients to
infants. For example, in 2000 BC women fed animal milk to their children. More recently, in the 18th
century many women were encouraged to stay home, breastfeed, and care for their children and
husband (Stevens et al., 2009, 33). Some areas of the world even believed that breast milk provided
the child with wisdom. Then in the 19th century, it was a common idea that women were only
equipped to breastfeed if she had a good diet, exercised, and was mentally fit, but breastfeeding was
highly encouraged. However, European women during this time had wet nurses, or other women that
would breastfeed the child that wasn t biologically theirs (p. 35). People soon began to realize that this

Fortunato Research Paper
For the past week, investigators have reported that a man by the name of Fortunato has suddenly
disappeared from the city of Rome. Fortunato was a rich, nice man who has been living in Rome for
the past twenty seven years. He was loved by his family and friends who thought of him at the light of
the party . He was always a very curious and adventurous man who wanted to explore the world.
Fortunato was last seen with his best friend Montresor at the Rome Carnival two weeks ago.
Investigators have claimed from different sources that Fortunato was on his way home when he
disappeared walking home with Montresor. Montresor said, We were walking to my house that was

Basic Problem Of The Warehouse
1. Basic Problem In this case, the basic problem is that the current two Hiram Miller Office Products
Division warehouses are outdated. These warehouses are structurally unsound to be handling all
distributional activities. The old warehouses cannot meet the company s high level of sales of $33
million. The management team will need to source a solution to either relocate or cut back service
some classes of customers in the near future. 2. Support for Basic Problem The outdated warehouses
have been operating in a disorganized logistical fashion. There are three elevators in the main
warehouse, which are most often out of service, and when it is operational the high volume of
movements from each floor creates a bottleneck at the elevator. This forces the stock people to use the
stairwells. The six story, 80,000 sqaure foot warehouse on Jefferson Street, which was built in early
1950 s, was one of the oldest offices supply dealerships in the U.S. In this warehouse there are no
mechanized material handling equipment that is accompanied by weak floors. There are six docks that
are unable to accommodate 53 foot trailers. This small dock capacity creates a back up in the street of
8 10 trucks that resulted in violating traffic laws. Although the police department would turn their
heads the other way in exchange for a free shopping trip in the retail store. The limited dock space
forces shippers to be called once an order was complete to receive and ship. These space constraints

The Origins Of The Origin Of Philosophy
The origins of philosophy began with the dynamic question of What if? followed by intellectual
reasoning for the ways of the world. To look past the general purpose of life and the things that come
with it; is when a new philosophy is discovered. The first recorded philosopher came about early on in
the sixth century B.C.E. His name was Thales of Miletus or what is now Turkey. The first three
philosophers, Thales, Anaximander, and Anaximenes, are known as the Milesians because they all
came from the Greek colony of Miletus on the Persian coast and because they constitute the first
school of philosophy. (Pg. 24) However, little is known about Thales due to the fact, there weren t any
pieces of literature connecting to him. However, he did make it known that everything is
fundamentally made up of water. This belief went against the theological perspectives of Greek
mythology, introducing a more scientific view of the cosmos. Thales made it known that he wanted to
find the Arche or unifying principle that linked every aspect of life together. According to Thales,
water is the one and only Arche.
Two of Thales successors and fellow Milesians, Anaximander and Anaximenes based their beliefs off
of Thales philosophy. However, they didn t seem to agree with Thales ideology of everything being
broken down to water. Anaximander completely dismissed the idea of the four primary elements,
earth, wind, fire, and water being the Arche. He believed the elements could not be the Arche,

Important Aspects Of Music Education
Education should enhance understanding of the world, of oneself, and of one s own experience (Kelly
2009). What is important about music education? There are many important aspects in music
education like pedagogy and performance. For me, music education is about letting the students
express themselves. Having the ability to give an idea or to vent is a vital tool in today s society. This
concept influences music because expression is not only in how to connect a phrase, but also how to
tell a story. With my time in college, Dr. Joseph Frye will always tell me to tell a story with music. He
will also ask me what I want to feel after playing a piece. This is what I believe is important in music
education. What is it about expression that makes it so important for music education? Firstly,
expression is the main source to music because you have all these different ways to create music.
Music can make a person feel great or can make a person feel down in the dumps. Music could not do
this to people if it did not have a little expression in it. Secondly, expression is important to the
emotional development. In an NAfME article, it states that students who were involve with music are
more emotionally developed (NAfME 2014). This statement is important because with emotions most
people need to express it, but it is usually harder to talk to someone about it. So why not utilize music
to do it? This ties back to music education because without music education no one will know

Controlling Language In Animal Farm
Controlling language is a more powerful utility of communication because it fears and manipulates the
listener into what you want them to do or follow. Like many sovereigns through the ages who have
ruled with fear and control retain supreme power. One example is the pig Napoleon from George
Orwell s book, Animal Farm. Napoleon uses controlling language to force animals into kicking out
their farmer Mr. Jones, even if not everyone wants to rebel. The book Animal Farm is an extended
metaphor for the Russian revolution. Animal Farm is about a farm where the animals that the farm
contains take over, and kick out their farmer Mr. Jones. By working and keeping a stamina of power,
the animals are able to contain well working, rising farm.Throughout the book there are many
contradictions with who will withstand supreme power. Napoleon from the book uses manipulation
through controlling language to hold all power. As Niccolo Machiavelli explains in his book The
Prince, every ruler should not even try to be nice because the leaders who do rule with fear and control
will crush the ones who try to be good and fair. These are all examples of how people who dominate
with controlling language. Although there is uplifting language, it does not work as well as controlling
communication because it usually has less potency. Napoleon from Animal Farm used controlling
language to gain the rule of the animals. Napoleon is a power hungry nuisance in the form of a pig. He

Types Of Sleep, Rapid Eye Movement ( Nrem )
College students are among the most sleep deprived people in the country. According to a 2001 study,
only 11% of college students have good sleep quality and 73% have occasional sleep problems
(Brown, 2014). Many college students misjudge the need for a good night s sleep. There are many
factors that contribute to a pattern of poor sleeping habits such as, stresses of classes and jobs, being
independent and living on your own for the first time, and being surrounded by a very active social
scene that can be found on almost all campuses. Most people need to sleep eight hours each night, this
being especially true for college students. There are two types of sleep, rapid eye movement (REM)
and non rapid eye movement (NREM). NREM sleep is divided into four stages, stages three and four
are referred to slow wave sleep. REM is a very active type of sleep where the brain is almost as active
as if it was awake. Deep sleep is essential for restoring energy and allowing the body to undergo
maintenance. When in NREM wounds are healed, white blood cells are created to aid your body s
defenses, muscles are restored, and the growth hormone is released. Without enough deep sleep, all of
these processes will be lacking (Rama, Cho, Kushida 2005). NREM sleep accounts for 75 80% of
sleep time. Stage one makes up 3 8 % of sleep time and mostly occurs in transition from alertness to
the other stages of sleep. Stage two begins approximately 10 12 minutes of stage one and
compromises 45 55%

Third-Degree Assault
Sometimes, arguments between people in Greeley, and throughout Colorado, may become physical.
Depending on the circumstances, those involved in physical confrontations with others may be
charged with assault. A serious criminal offense, being convicted of this crime could carry severe
penalties with lasting implications.
Colorado state law establishes three variations of assault offenses third degree, second degree and first
degree assault. Each of these charges has differing levels of severity and carry different penalties for a
conviction.
Third degree assault
The least severe of the assault variations is assault in the third degree. According to the Boulder
County Bar Association, people may be accused of third degree assault if they knowingly, negligently
or recklessly cause others to suffer injuries using deadly weapons. Additionally, causing a law
enforcement officer, firefighter or emergency medical service worker to come into contact with certain
bodily or hazardous fluids may also qualify as third degree assault.
Under most circumstances, third degree assault is a class one misdemeanor. As an extraordinary risk
crime, people may be subject to enhanced penalties if convicted of this crime. Colorado state law

typically constitutes this level of offense. Giving others drugs or other substances without their

lawful duties. People who are legally being held in jail or prison and use violent force against
detention facility employees, law enforcement officers, firefighters, court officers or judges may also

Perestroika And Glasnost
How Perestroika/Glasnost Helped the Dissolution of the Soviet Union
Perestroika and glasnost played an important part in shaping today s Russia by its role in the
dissolution of the U.S.S.R. Perestroika was the reconstruction of the Communist party and the
economy, which Mikhail Gorbachev thought would fix the economic mess he came into. Perestroika
also loosened government control over individual enterprises and businesses. Gorbachev also
introduced glasnost which released government information and allowed more people to openly give
their opinion about the Soviet government. In the book Russia s Sputnik Generations by Donald

information began later. Back then it was looked upon as a breath of fresh air. Arkadii Darchenko s

Symbolism and Repression in The Yellow Wallpaper
Symbolism and Repression in The Yellow Wallpaper
Charlotte Perkins Gilman s story, The Yellow Wallpaper is as a wonderful example of the gothic
horror genre. It was not until the rediscovery of the story in the early 1970 s that The Yellow
Wallpaper was recognized as a feminist indictment of a male dominated society. The story contains
many typical gothic trappings, but beneath the conventional façade hides a tale of repression and
freedom told in intricate symbolism as seen through the eyes of a mad narrator.
It is difficult to discuss the meaning in this story without first examining the author s own personal
experience. The Yellow Wallpaper gives an account of a woman driven to madness as a result of the ...

Many of the passages concerning the husband can be interpreted as containing sarcasm, a great many
contain irony, and several border on parody (Johnson 528). It is true that the husband s language is
exaggerated at times, but dismissing the husband s character as caricature seems extreme. He is
instead the natural complement to the narrator s madness and uncontrolled fancy: the character of John
is control and sanity as defined by Victorian culture and is therefore the narrator s opposite. Greg
Johnson notes that John exhibits a near obsession with reason, even as his wife grows mad. He is the
narrator s necessary counterpart, without whose stifling influence her eventual freedom would not be
gained. And he is also transformed at the end of the tale in a reversal of traditional gothic roles
because it is he, not a female, who faints when confronted with madness (529).
Central to the story is the wallpaper itself. It is within the wallpaper that the narrator finds her hidden
self and her eventual damnation/freedom. Her obsession with the paper begins subtly and then
consumes both the narrator and the story. Once settled in the long empty ancestral estate, a typical
gothic setting, the narrator is dismayed to learn that her husband has chosen the top floor nursery room
for her. The room is papered in horrible yellow wallpaper, the design of which commit[s] every artistic
sin (426). The design begins to fascinate the narrator and she

The Heart Of The Sea By Nathaniel Philbrick
In the Heart of the Sea by Nathaniel Philbrick, the crew on the Essex was pushed past their limits. The
crew s racism, prejudices, and tolerances effected the journey on the Essex. The crew on the Essex
grew together, but sadly throughout the journey many did not make it and the others were forced to do
unspeakable things just to try and survive the journey.
From the beginning of the journey the Essex crew was grouped off. The crew was grouped off by
social standing: Nantucketers, Non Nantuketers, and African Americans. Nantucketers had the highest
rankings captain, George Pollard, first mate, Owen Chase, and second mate, Matthew Joy. George
Pollard has been on the water for almost three years now with little time off. After this trip Owen
Chase will be able to the captain of his own ship. Although Chase was the first mate he, felt he already
mastered everything he needed to know to preform Pollards job, 1which lead Pollard and Chase to

crew members dreamed of the day they would be able to go on their journey, like fourteen year old
Thomas Nickerson. From the beginning of their journey Nickerson, for the first time realized that [he]
was alone upon a wide and unfeeling world. 2The crew that was made up of different background and

The owner of the company wants to grow the company rapidly but knows that without formal
processes and systems in place, the likelihood of losing control of projects is high. In order to support
the contractor, we would like to address the design and deployment of formal processes encompassing
two (2) of the CII practices i.e. Materials Management and Change Management.
We have stated the processes and procedures to be used by the contractor in order to gain the control
of his projects, pertaining to material management and change management. By implementing the
procedures of materials management, he will be able to improve cash flow, reduce bulk supplies,
improve supplier performance, improve craft labor productivity, reduce risk etc. and by implementing
the procedures of change management, he will notice a minimum number of changes on future
projects, enables anticipation of project changes and corrective actions that proven to be effective,
increases project safety, job quality and team inter phase relationships, reduces cost and schedule etc.

Why Is Dedication Important
Being a senior in high school, I am just discovering the secret to being a successful athlete; one cannot
just show up to practice and expect a desired outcome. Dedication is the willingness and drive to go
beyond one s boundaries for one s desires. Playing for a softball team that has 19 state championships
and 27 consecutive regional titles, I have always been taught that dedication was the key. A lot of time
has been put into practices to prepare for all the great titles the team and I have won. Practice, effort,
and teamwork are the main reasons on why dedication is the real secret to success. Showing up to a
sporting event that you participate in, just to be present will not make someone a successful athlete. As
a young athlete my parents always forced me to attend practice, or at least I felt that way. Looking
back it was all because of the potential they saw in me as an athlete. Playing on the varsity level in the
eighth grade was a challenge, but it really opened my eyes to the fact that dedication is the secret.
Practicing day in and day out really drilled that into my head. If I wanted to be good, I had to work for
it. Others always say practice makes perfect, but really if you do ... Show more content on

It s Time to Put an End to Corporal Punishment in Schools
Seven countries Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Austria, Italy and Cyprus have laws making it
illegal for parents to use physical punishment on their children. Corporal punishment in schools has
been banned in all the countries in Europe, South and Central America, China and Japan. The United
States has outlawed corporal punishment from our prisons as cruel and inhumane treatment, as well as
wife beating, once thought to be the right of a husband. Why don t we afford the same protection to
our children?
Our culture sanctions the use of corporal or physical punishment as a way for parents to discipline
their children. Just a few weeks ago Marvin Munyon, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It doesn t teach them self control or ways to change their behavior other than not getting caught
misbehaving. One of the ways kids learn is by watching and mimicking the world around them,
especially their parents. They are quick to learn when words and actions don t coincide, for example,
when a parent spanks a child because the child hits someone else. Being a parent is not an easy job
and it takes time and patience to discipline children.
After a year of implementing a specific discipline for my daughter s temper tantrums, I witnessed my
daughter exercise self control at the age of three. Temper tantrums were her specialty. When my
daughter flew out of control I would put her in her room until she calmed down. Then she was
allowed to rejoin the family and finish the task she was asked to do, or apologize depending on the
circumstances. In this particular instance, when my daughter got angry she picked up her blanket and
stomped upstairs crying without me saying a word other than she couldn t play her musical
instruments in the same room while her sister was watching television. She stayed upstairs for about
ten minutes. After that, she came downstairs and proceeded to play quietly. I sat there in utter
amazement! She had disciplined herself.
To discipline a child we must first consider the problem and why the child is misbehaving. Are we
expecting too much from the child at their age?

Saki s Stories and the Impression they Create about Adult Child Relationships
In order to answer this question I am going to be focusing on three of
Saki?s stories; the story teller, the lumber room and the open window.
Children at the time Hector Munro (Saki) was writing these stories would have had very vivid
imagination; this is shown in Saki s story
The Open Window when the niece makes up the saga of Mr Sappleton s death, illustrates how
imaginative children can be, and that adults are very easily fooled. Fooling adults is a key theme in
Saki s stories; another time when it occurs is in the story The Lumber Room when Nicholas dupes his
aunt into believing that he is somehow trying to get into the gooseberry garden, ... Show more content

This is shown in Saki?s story
?The Open Window? when the Mr Nuttel believes the nieces story because he has no reason to think
that a fifteen year old girl has any reason to lie, especially about something as horrible as death. Again
these also relates to the theme of children being able to fool adults, because they are seen as innocent.
I am now going to write about the characters in Saki?s stories. Each story contains an Aunt, who is
perceived a strict and a person who follows the rules of Edwardian society very closely, and children,
who tend to break the regulations that Edwardian society has, and by some other characters, like the
Batchelor in the story ?The Story Teller? and Mr Nuttel in the story ?The Open Window?
Firstly I am going to concentrate on the Bachelor in ?The
Story Teller?. He is different to the rest of the adults in the early stories because he tells the children a
story about a young girl is
?horribly good?. The concept of someone been horribly good is alien to
Edwardian society. Furthermore in the same story he also mentions that the girl who is ?horribly
good? gets killed by a wolf. This is another idea that would not have been thought possible to happen
in Edwardian society, because they believed that you can never be too good. Saki has invented the
character of the Bachelor in order to help him to ridicule Edwardian society. An example of the
Bachelor ridiculing
Edwardian society is

Effects Of Physical Abuse
Violence or in another word, abuse is a serious matter where these days it keeps increasing especially
not just in working environment but also at home and in relationship where it supposed to provide the
most happiness in the world for everyone. Generally, violence can be a domestic or international and
when it comes to violence, the only ideas that come out of people mind are that it only involves
physical and sexual since those two are the most popular cases that frequently reported in mass media
but it is actually more than that, where all those types of violence and abuse will include these kind of
behaviours such as manipulate, humiliate, isolate, blame, giving pain, bully or injuring someone. No
matter what behaviours being projected, the main purpose of people doing this violence and abuse is
to gain or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The physical violence does not end just because the beating stop, it moves to the next stage known as
recovery stage where the victims have to endure all the psychical effects that have rain down upon
them specifically for the long term physical abuse. Tracy (2014) stated that there are various kind of
effects from physical abuse such as physical and psychological effects. Unfortunately, the experience
from the long term of physical abuse affects how the victim grows later on and it does not only give
an impact to the physical appearance but also on mentally and emotionally aspects. In psychology,
there is a term known as nurture where development of the human beings is affect by the environment
and this theory proven by Albert Bandura, a psychologist in his famous Bobo doll experiment, that
shows the aggression is acquired through observation and imitation of the surrounding. If a child were
physically abused for a long term, that child might become the next abuser or in worst case,

Herniated Disk Research Paper
Introduction/Overview When somebody gets back pain they don t think much about it, maybe it s just
a sore muscle or I just threw my back out. That s what we all think but there could be something much
bigger, like a herniated disk or bulging disk. When I didn t do any research on a herniated and bulging
disk I thought they were the same things. I learned fast that they aren t close to the same thing, yes
they have a few things in common. The extremes of a herniated disk can result in surgery, which leads
to removing the inflamed nerve or as simple as ice/heat and therapy. A bulging disk isn t really all that
painful but it can turn into a herniated disk if conditions get bad enough. Basically for a bulging disk
all you can do is see a physical therapist to get a home workout to help the bulge to get ... Show more

cord. The spine gives stability, gives moment in all direction and still returns back to normal shape,
gives a place for attachment for flexible bands and elastic cords, is a shock absorber. An exaggerated
curve in the thoracic region is referred to as kyphosis, and one in the lumbar region to as a kyphosis,
and one in the lumbar region is referred to as a lordosis. Kyphosis curves have a backward convexity.
Lordotic curves have a forward convex curve. A lateral deviation of the spine is called scoliosis.1

Essay On Eliminating Non-Degree Credit Courses
Eliminating Non degree Credit Courses Eliminating personal gain courses such as sculpting and tennis
that don t count toward degrees would be beneficial to your institution. Several factors led to this
recommendation, the first being funding. A breakdown of current and future funding will be explored
along with ways to utilize funds to effectively serve the students, as intended, and the community.
Federal budget cuts are the biggest concern for future planning and continuing to fund non degree
courses would not be the best use of your limited resources.

Without adequate preparation from high schools, colleges would need to appropriate money to
services that alleviate these setbacks.
Next, one of the criterion for accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission of Northcentral
Association of Colleges and Schools is that the institution must provide continuous resources,
structures, and processes that are sufficient to fulfill its mission. This includes the quality of its
educational offerings and ability to respond to future challenges and opportunities.
The college mission statement determines the institutions direction and organization to remind them
why they exist and what makes them successful. Moreover, college mission statements must be clear
and created with public input, it guides the institutions operations (Merren, p.16). For example, the
mission of Spokane Falls Community College is to meet the needs of their community by advancing
student achievement through quality, accessible learning opportunities. Mesa Community College is
committed to excel in teaching, learning, and empowering students to succeed.
The main focus, or mission, of most community colleges is to provide quality education to promote
success and readiness for the world around them including the next steps to universities.

Essay on Slave Ship
The Slave Ship by Marcus Rediker is a great fiction novel that describes the horrifying experiences of
Africans, seamen, and captains on their journey through the Middle Passage. The Middle Passage
marked the water way in the Atlantic Ocean between Africa and the Americas. The use of slaves
provided a great economy for the European countries due to the fact that these African slaves provided
free labor while cultivating sugar cane in the Caribbean and America. Rediker describes the slave
migration by saying, There exists no account of the mechanism for history s greatest forced migration,
which was in many ways the key to an entire phase of globalization (10). This tells us that African
enslavement to the Americas causes a complete ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some Africans did not go without putting up a fight. For instance, Captain Tomba led many villagers
in burning huts and killing neighbors who cooperated with slave traders (14). He was later captured
and sent to the slave ship where he would be sold in the New World. The slaves also resisted by
refusing to eat. Most of them decided they would rather have death than to live the lifestyle on the
slave ships. The captains punished those who refused to eat by giving them lashes to the bare skin
until they decided to eat. Olaudah Equiano could be considered one of the more fortunate Africans
involved in the slave trade. Rediker uses Equiano to show how Africans were kidnapped and brought
to the slave ship. Equiano was home alone with his sister when he was snatched by a neighboring
enemy tribe. Tribes were kidnapping each other to sell to the slave traders for goods and even
weapons. Equiano was separated from his sister and sold off to merchants before actually boarding the
slave ship. He mentioned several times how he would rather die than be on the slave ship. He noticed
right away that the slave ship was equipped with nettings to prevent precisely such desperate rebellion
(109). Equiano went to the Americas and was left alone when none of the merchants purchased him.
He was sold to a captain and boarded his ship back to England. On this slave ship, he was treated
much better. He got to stay on the deck and eat better food than he had

Dubuque Case Study Essay
Introduction (Jeremy Jensen) Dubuque, Iowa is a city of approximately 60,000 residents that sits on
the banks of the Mississippi River. Currently Dubuque is a diverse city that strives for complete
sustainability. However, it wasn t always that way recession hit in the late 80 s early 90 s. The town
was a homogenous community and relied on two major industries for employment a famous t shirt
coined the catchphrase Will the last one to leave turn off the lights? Mike Van Milligan was introduced
to the town in 1993 as the city manager and he was expected to lead the community in change. The
city has come a long way in 20 years from almost depression thanks to the concepts of Van Milligan
whose methods are similar to Kotter s and Cohen s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Van Milligan said he could only do this by establishing what he was about individually, then clearly
communicating the expectations on this vision to every employee within the city (Cohen, 2005, p. 65).
Van Milligan immediately started his change initiative within the city organization. He wanted to
make the government aspect of this vision more effective and efficient. To do this he cut a layer of
bureaucracy out. This layer consisted of seven upper management level jobs. By doing this, he
streamlined the organization and started building his guiding team, which consisted of the people that
needed to be a part of the change and those that wanted to change.
Readiness for Change (Jeremy Jensen) Van Milligan next required each department to justify their
existence based on whether they could do the job effectively and efficiently. All levels of employees
were encouraged to be involved in this process. According to Van Milligan it went over like a lead
balloon . Employees recognized something needed to be done, the economic stress was hitting home,
and they were seeing and feeling the urgency to change (Kotter Cohen, 2002, p. 10). Even though this
urgency existed, the employees were comfortable and resistant to the change. It really came down to

Good Time By Adam Young Ft. Carly Rae Jepsen
The social group I have chosen to observe is my family. My family is larger than the average
American family with fourteen people currently living in the same home, and an average American
family being made up of 3.14 people (argis.com). With so many people living under one roof this
group is generally loud and can sometimes be overwhelming for an outsider. This group loves to have
fun and wherever we go we know how to entertain ourselves and have an enjoyable time, in fact, we
consider our theme song Good time by Adam Young ft. Carly Rae Jepsen. This group values quality

Extrinsic versus Intrinsic Motivation
Extrinsic motivation involves external incentives such as rewards and punishers. When we are
extrinsically motivated we engage in a behavior for an external payoff or to avoid an external
punishment. Intrinsic motivation is based on internal factors such as organismic needs as well as
curiosity, challenge, and fun. When we are intrinsically motivated, we engage in a behavior because
we enjoy it (King, 2014, p. 338). I observed both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in the same
situation. With so many people living in the house we must take turns cooking dinner and in this
instance, it was my brother and sisters turn to cook. My sister loves cooking, she was experiencing
intrinsic motivation. Whereas my brother does not enjoy this task, but my brother knows that he will
not get to go out with his friends if he does not help with dinner. My brother was extrinsically
motivated in this situation.
Episodic Memory
Episodic memory is the retention of information about the where, when, and what of life s happenings
(King, 2014, p. 228). I observed episodic memory, multiple times during my observations. One
example of this was when we were all at the dinner table and someone was

patient with the food. Indeed, Karen Carpenter needs to change her way of thinking in order to treat
her disorder, and in order to do so, punishment need to be associated to losing weight and
reinforcement to gaining weight. Even if most anorexic patients deny their disorder, hospitalization is
always the best way to keep the person alive by imposing weight restoration (Davison et al., 2013).
Then, the cognitive behavioural therapy can come into play by reinforcing eating with a reward. For
instance, patients are totally isolated and the only moment they see their family or have access to any
divertissements is when they eat. In that case, divertissements positively reinforce gain weight. At a

According to Davison et al., (2013), disorders are the result of unconscious conflicts in the individual .
The psychoanalytic paradigm concentrates on childhood and defines what the individual has been
through during childhood is reflected in his/her adulthood. Davison et al., (2013) stated that anorexia
nervosa disorder usually starts to develop in adolescence due to past unstable relationships between
parents and the child. Indeed, being overprotective and overinvolved in the child s life by taking all
the decisions for him without giving him a voice, as it is seen in the case of Karen Carpenter, lead the
child to feel powerless, insecure, and have a low self esteem. A lack of control is felt by the child and
is then transformed into high self control later on. Approaching adolescence, the child becomes more
conscious about the society demands on appearance and as a result respect those requirements to be
accepted by transforming him/herself into a thinner silhouette. This self control over a strict diet
creates an identity to the individual. According to Mushatt (1983), problems in the family increase the
probability to develop an eating disorder as anorexia nervosa. The roles played by the parents of
Carpenter family were well defined: her mother has control over everything and her father was
following her mother s commands in order to satisfy her. Concerning Karen s father, his passive
behavior did not help to lower the anxiety level felt at home and to bring back stability within the
family. Indeed, being a perfectionist mother does not help the child to grow up normally. The fact that
Karen s mother was over controlling could also have participate in her development of the anorexia
Nervosa disorder. Karen was not taking her own decision which is defines as it as an infantilizing
decision making by Msuhatt (1983). As explained in her biography, Karen Carpenter did not even

Summary Of Merlyn s Lessons Shape King Arthur
Merlyn s Lessons Shape King Arthur
King Arthur does not just magically become the amazing king he grows up to be. He is trained to
become a trusted ruler and a worthy knight. He learns the best lessons from his tutor, Merlyn. Merlyn
helps Arthur when he s a young boy who is under the rule of Sir Ector. Merlyn uses the most
extraordinary lessons to get Arthur to become successful in the long run. Not many people helped
Arthur as a young boy to become something other than Sir Kay s assistant. Overall, Merlyn s
extravagant lessons helped shape the Wart into the True Born King of Britain. A lesson that Merlyn
shapes Wart with was changing Wart into a fish that lived in the moat. In order to gain knowledge
from this experience, Wart has a conversation about monarchy with the King of the Moat. The

This teaches him democracy and that the people and their opinions matter. He learns this lesson from
seeing how the ants in the colony are treated. For example he realizes that, Their life was not
questionable: it was dictated (White 128). He learns specifically that communism doesn t work when
trying to rule a group of people or in this case, ants. Wart understands that being a dictator and being
demanding won t make a kingdom better. In a way the lessons from the ants and from the fish teach
him the same thing; to rule for the people. So, in order to put this lesson to use Arthur uses his power
for good and he treats his kingdom with care. This is just another one of the many lessons Merlyn
teaches in order to transform Wart into King Arthur. The Once and Future King goes on about how
Arthur s early life truly shaped King Arthur for the better. King Arthur is known to be one of the
greatest rulers of all times. He gets his amazing leadership from the people that raised him, Sir Ector
and Merlyn. Furthermore, Merlyn s numerous lessons truly shaped Arthur in becoming the rightful

  • 4. Planaria Regeneration Lab Report 005594572 Dr. Jones Held This article studies the ability of regeneration possessed by the planaria. Morgan (1898) observes in different methods how the planaria are cut into smaller pieces, and then he observes the pieces to see if the planaria will regenerate. When the planaria are cut near the head, the pieces do not appear to regenerate, and the pieces cut too small also do not possess the ability to regenerate (Morgan, 1898). Pieces cut from the middle and the end piece of the planaria, however, have shown results of respawning from within the old tissue. When the author tried to fuse two sampled pieces together, he observed that the pieces formed a union (Morgan, 1898). However, the fusion did not last long, and the pieces died long after fusing together (Morgan, 1898). It is likely that the samples were not able to complete the regeneration after the union emerged. • 5. The Article Being Poor, Black And Americ Impact Of... Introduction The article Being Poor, Black and American: The Impact of Political, Economic, and Cultural Forces written by William Julius Wilson is about the struggles and inequalities African Americans living in poverty encounter. Wilson discussed political, economic and cultural forces that have an impact on American impoverished communities. The author suggested the natural disaster of Hurricane Katrina brought the media and world attention to poverty in the United States. Prior to Katrina, the author believes Americans did not focus or sympathize with poor communities. This unsympathetic attitude stems from the belief that people are poor because they did not work hard enough, or are not doing anything to get out of that situation. After Katrina, Americans started to notice and care about the impoverished communities because the hurricane was a natural disaster and out of their control. Overall, the author explains how politics, economics and cultures forced many families into poverty, and diminishes the idea that people live in poverty because of their own shortcomings. Political Force The author explained how the government established policies and initiatives that created ghettos and suburbs. The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) is a program that helped citizens become homeowners by lending loans. However, only certain neighborhoods qualified for those loans. Research and data were used to prove that certain areas were considered a loss of investment. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Breastfeeding Is A Controversial Topic Over The Years The practice of breastfeeding has become a very controversial topic over the years due to the creation of alternatives to breast milk, increase in working mothers, and other reasons. Much research shows that due to a variety of cultural, ethical, and economic reasons women should be encouraged to breastfeed for a specific duration of time, while others believe that this is unnecessary. Based on these three societal sectors, should women be encouraged to breastfeed? If so, for how long should they breastfeed? Since the beginning of humans/ mankind breastfeeding has been practiced by mothers. Stevens and colleagues (2009) tell us the following information (pp. 32 39): Since the beginning of humans life on Earth, there have always been a number of alternatives used to provide nutrients to infants. For example, in 2000 BC women fed animal milk to their children. More recently, in the 18th century many women were encouraged to stay home, breastfeed, and care for their children and husband (Stevens et al., 2009, 33). Some areas of the world even believed that breast milk provided the child with wisdom. Then in the 19th century, it was a common idea that women were only equipped to breastfeed if she had a good diet, exercised, and was mentally fit, but breastfeeding was highly encouraged. However, European women during this time had wet nurses, or other women that would breastfeed the child that wasn t biologically theirs (p. 35). People soon began to realize that this was a ... These warehouses are structurally unsound to be handling all distributional activities. The old warehouses cannot meet the company s high level of sales of $33 million. The management team will need to source a solution to either relocate or cut back service some classes of customers in the near future. 2. Support for Basic Problem The outdated warehouses have been operating in a disorganized logistical fashion. There are three elevators in the main warehouse, which are most often out of service, and when it is operational the high volume of movements from each floor creates a bottleneck at the elevator. • 12. The Origins Of The Origin Of Philosophy The origins of philosophy began with the dynamic question of What if? followed by intellectual reasoning for the ways of the world. To look past the general purpose of life and the things that come with it; is when a new philosophy is discovered. The first recorded philosopher came about early on in the sixth century B.C.E. His name was Thales of Miletus or what is now Turkey. The first three philosophers, Thales, Anaximander, and Anaximenes, are known as the Milesians because they all came from the Greek colony of Miletus on the Persian coast and because they constitute the first school of philosophy. (Pg. 24) However, little is known about Thales due to the fact, there weren t any pieces of literature connecting to him. However, he did make it known that everything is fundamentally made up of water. This belief went against the theological perspectives of Greek mythology, introducing a more scientific view of the cosmos. Thales made it known that he wanted to find the Arche or unifying principle that linked every aspect of life together. According to Thales, water is the one and only Arche. Two of Thales successors and fellow Milesians, Anaximander and Anaximenes based their beliefs off of Thales philosophy. However, they didn t seem to agree with Thales ideology of everything being broken down to water. Anaximander completely dismissed the idea of the four primary elements, earth, wind, fire, and water being the Arche. He believed the elements could not be the Arche, ... • 13. Important Aspects Of Music Education Education should enhance understanding of the world, of oneself, and of one s own experience (Kelly 2009). What is important about music education? There are many important aspects in music education like pedagogy and performance. For me, music education is about letting the students express themselves. Having the ability to give an idea or to vent is a vital tool in today s society. This concept influences music because expression is not only in how to connect a phrase, but also how to tell a story. With my time in college, Dr. Joseph Frye will always tell me to tell a story with music. He will also ask me what I want to feel after playing a piece. This is what I believe is important in music education. What is it about expression that makes it so important for music education? Firstly, expression is the main source to music because you have all these different ways to create music. Music can make a person feel great or can make a person feel down in the dumps. Music could not do this to people if it did not have a little expression in it. Secondly, expression is important to the emotional development. In an NAfME article, it states that students who were involve with music are more emotionally developed (NAfME 2014). This statement is important because with emotions most people need to express it, but it is usually harder to talk to someone about it. So why not utilize music to do it? Like many sovereigns through the ages who have ruled with fear and control retain supreme power. One example is the pig Napoleon from George Orwell s book, Animal Farm. Napoleon uses controlling language to force animals into kicking out their farmer Mr. Jones, even if not everyone wants to rebel. • 15. Types Of Sleep, Rapid Eye Movement ( Nrem ) College students are among the most sleep deprived people in the country. According to a 2001 study, only 11% of college students have good sleep quality and 73% have occasional sleep problems (Brown, 2014). Many college students misjudge the need for a good night s sleep. There are many factors that contribute to a pattern of poor sleeping habits such as, stresses of classes and jobs, being independent and living on your own for the first time, and being surrounded by a very active social scene that can be found on almost all campuses. Most people need to sleep eight hours each night, this being especially true for college students. There are two types of sleep, rapid eye movement (REM) and non rapid eye movement (NREM). NREM sleep is divided into four stages, stages three and four are referred to slow wave sleep. REM is a very active type of sleep where the brain is almost as active as if it was awake. Deep sleep is essential for restoring energy and allowing the body to undergo maintenance. When in NREM wounds are healed, white blood cells are created to aid your body s defenses, muscles are restored, and the growth hormone is released. Without enough deep sleep, all of these processes will be lacking (Rama, Cho, Kushida 2005). NREM sleep accounts for 75 80% of sleep time. It was not until the rediscovery of the story in the early 1970 s that The Yellow Wallpaper was recognized as a feminist indictment of a male dominated society. Many of the passages concerning the husband can be interpreted as containing sarcasm, a great many contain irony, and several border on parody (Johnson 528). It is true that the husband s language is exaggerated at times, but dismissing the husband s character as caricature seems extreme. He is instead the natural complement to the narrator s madness and uncontrolled fancy: the character of John is control and sanity as defined by Victorian culture and is therefore the narrator s opposite. Greg Johnson notes that John exhibits a near obsession with reason, even as his wife grows mad. He is the narrator s necessary counterpart, without whose stifling influence her eventual freedom would not be gained. And he is also transformed at the end of the tale in a reversal of traditional gothic roles because it is he, not a female, who faints when confronted with madness (529). Central to the story is the wallpaper itself. It is within the wallpaper that the narrator finds her hidden self and her eventual damnation/freedom. Her obsession with the paper begins subtly and then consumes both the narrator and the story. • 22. Why Is Dedication Important Being a senior in high school, I am just discovering the secret to being a successful athlete; one cannot just show up to practice and expect a desired outcome. Dedication is the willingness and drive to go beyond one s boundaries for one s desires. Playing for a softball team that has 19 state championships and 27 consecutive regional titles, I have always been taught that dedication was the key. A lot of time has been put into practices to prepare for all the great titles the team and I have won. Practice, effort, and teamwork are the main reasons on why dedication is the real secret to success. Showing up to a sporting event that you participate in, just to be present will not make someone a successful athlete. As a young athlete my parents always forced me to attend practice, or at least I felt that way. Looking back it was all because of the potential they saw in me as an athlete. Playing on the varsity level in the eighth grade was a challenge, but it really opened my eyes to the fact that dedication is the secret. Fooling adults is a key theme in Saki s stories; another time when it occurs is in the story The Lumber Room when Nicholas dupes his aunt into believing that he is somehow trying to get into the gooseberry garden, ... This is shown in Saki?s story ?The Open Window? when the Mr Nuttel believes the nieces story because he has no reason to think that a fifteen year old girl has any reason to lie, especially about something as horrible as death. Again these also relates to the theme of children being able to fool adults, because they are seen as innocent. I am now going to write about the characters in Saki?s stories. Each story contains an Aunt, who is perceived a strict and a person who follows the rules of Edwardian society very closely, and children, who tend to break the regulations that Edwardian society has, and by some other characters, like the Batchelor in the story ?The Story Teller? and Mr Nuttel in the story ?The Open Window? Firstly I am going to concentrate on the Bachelor in ?The Story Teller?. He is different to the rest of the adults in the early stories because he tells the children a story about a young girl is ?horribly good?. The concept of someone been horribly good is alien to Edwardian society. Furthermore in the same story he also mentions that the girl who is ?horribly good? gets killed by a wolf. This is another idea that would not have been thought possible to happen in Edwardian society, because they believed that you can never be too good. Saki has invented the character of the Bachelor in order to help him to ridicule Edwardian society. An example of the Bachelor ridiculing Edwardian society is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

That s what we all think but there could be something much bigger, like a herniated disk or bulging disk. When I didn t do any research on a herniated and bulging disk I thought they were the same things. I learned fast that they aren t close to the same thing, yes they have a few things in common. The extremes of a herniated disk can result in surgery, which leads to removing the inflamed nerve or as simple as ice/heat and therapy. A bulging disk isn t really all that painful but it can turn into a herniated disk if conditions get bad enough. Essay on Slave Ship The Slave Ship by Marcus Rediker is a great fiction novel that describes the horrifying experiences of Africans, seamen, and captains on their journey through the Middle Passage. The Middle Passage marked the water way in the Atlantic Ocean between Africa and the Americas. The use of slaves provided a great economy for the European countries due to the fact that these African slaves provided free labor while cultivating sugar cane in the Caribbean and America. Rediker describes the slave migration by saying, There exists no account of the mechanism for history s greatest forced migration, which was in many ways the key to an entire phase of globalization (10). For instance, Captain Tomba led many villagers in burning huts and killing neighbors who cooperated with slave traders (14). He was later captured and sent to the slave ship where he would be sold in the New World. The slaves also resisted by refusing to eat. Most of them decided they would rather have death than to live the lifestyle on the slave ships. The captains punished those who refused to eat by giving them lashes to the bare skin until they decided to eat. Olaudah Equiano could be considered one of the more fortunate Africans involved in the slave trade. Rediker uses Equiano to show how Africans were kidnapped and brought to the slave ship. Equiano was home alone with his sister when he was snatched by a neighboring enemy tribe. Tribes were kidnapping each other to sell to the slave traders for goods and even weapons. Equiano was separated from his sister and sold off to merchants before actually boarding the slave ship. He mentioned several times how he would rather die than be on the slave ship. He noticed right away that the slave ship was equipped with nettings to prevent precisely such desperate rebellion (109). Equiano went to the Americas and was left alone when none of the merchants purchased him. He was sold to a captain and boarded his ship back to England. On this slave ship, he was treated much better. He got to stay on the deck and eat better food than he had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Van Milligan said he could only do this by establishing what he was about individually, then clearly communicating the expectations on this vision to every employee within the city (Cohen, 2005, p. 65). Van Milligan immediately started his change initiative within the city organization. He wanted to make the government aspect of this vision more effective and efficient. To do this he cut a layer of bureaucracy out. This layer consisted of seven upper management level jobs. By doing this, he streamlined the organization and started building his guiding team, which consisted of the people that needed to be a part of the change and those that wanted to change. Readiness for Change (Jeremy Jensen) Van Milligan next required each department to justify their existence based on whether they could do the job effectively and efficiently. All levels of employees were encouraged to be involved in this process. According to Van Milligan it went over like a lead balloon . Employees recognized something needed to be done, the economic stress was hitting home, and they were seeing and feeling the urgency to change (Kotter Cohen, 2002, p. 10). Even though this urgency existed, the employees were comfortable and resistant to the change. It really came down to changing their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When we are extrinsically motivated we engage in a behavior for an external payoff or to avoid an external punishment. Intrinsic motivation is based on internal factors such as organismic needs as well as curiosity, challenge, and fun. When we are intrinsically motivated, we engage in a behavior because we enjoy it (King, 2014, p. 338). I observed both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in the same situation. With so many people living in the house we must take turns cooking dinner and in this instance, it was my brother and sisters turn to cook. My sister loves cooking, she was experiencing intrinsic motivation. Whereas my brother does not enjoy this task, but my brother knows that he will not get to go out with his friends if he does not help with dinner. My brother was extrinsically motivated in this situation. Episodic Memory Episodic memory is the retention of information about the where, when, and what of life s happenings (King, 2014, p. 228). Indeed, Karen Carpenter needs to change her way of thinking in order to treat her disorder, and in order to do so, punishment need to be associated to losing weight and reinforcement to gaining weight. Even if most anorexic patients deny their disorder, hospitalization is always the best way to keep the person alive by imposing weight restoration (Davison et al., 2013). Then, the cognitive behavioural therapy can come into play by reinforcing eating with a reward. For instance, patients are totally isolated and the only moment they see their family or have access to any divertissements is when they eat. According to Davison et al., (2013), disorders are the result of unconscious conflicts in the individual . The psychoanalytic paradigm concentrates on childhood and defines what the individual has been through during childhood is reflected in his/her adulthood. Davison et al., (2013) stated that anorexia nervosa disorder usually starts to develop in adolescence due to past unstable relationships between parents and the child. Indeed, being overprotective and overinvolved in the child s life by taking all the decisions for him without giving him a voice, as it is seen in the case of Karen Carpenter, lead the child to feel powerless, insecure, and have a low self esteem. A lack of control is felt by the child and is then transformed into high self control later on. Approaching adolescence, the child becomes more conscious about the society demands on appearance and as a result respect those requirements to be accepted by transforming him/herself into a thinner silhouette. This self control over a strict diet creates an identity to the individual. According to Mushatt (1983), problems in the family increase the probability to develop an eating disorder as anorexia nervosa. The roles played by the parents of Carpenter family were well defined: her mother has control over everything and her father was following her mother s commands in order to satisfy her. Concerning Karen s father, his passive behavior did not help to lower the anxiety level felt at home and to bring back stability within the family. Indeed, being a perfectionist mother does not help the child to grow up normally. The fact that Karen s mother was over controlling could also have participate in her development of the anorexia Nervosa disorder. Karen was not taking her own decision which is defines as it as an infantilizing decision making by Msuhatt (1983). As explained in her biography, Karen Carpenter did not even ...
