The First Political Parties Essay
Today, political parties can be seen throughout everyday life, prevalent in various activities such as
watching television, or seeing signs beside the road while driving. These everyday occurrences make
the knowledge of political parties commonly known, especially as the two opposing political parties:
the Republicans and the Democrats. Republican and Democrats have existed for numerous years,
predominantly due to pure tradition, and the comfort of the ideas each party presents. For years, the
existence of two political parties has dominated the elections of the president, and lower offices such
as mayor, or the House of Representatives. Fundamentally, this tradition continues from the very
emergence of political parties during the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This extreme Federalist, also the secretary of the treasury, defended his proposition under the essay
Defense of the Constitutionality of the Bank, which included the use of Article I, Section 8, arguing
that this institution was necessary and proper for the foregoing powers of, ...taxation, regulation of
commerce, and making war. 4 Thomas Jefferson s proposition, in comparison, was exceptionally weak
and not nearly as well executed as Hamilton s. As a result, Washington allowed for the bank act to be
passed. The difference of opinions, furthermore, expanded beyond the ideas regarding the
Constitution. Later, the very viewpoints which Jefferson argued against in the debate over the bank,
were implemented in his plan for the Louisiana Purchase occurring in 1803.5 Here, Jefferson made a
deal with France to purchase, in exchange for fifteen million dollars, territory which would ultimately
double the size of the United States. Although the purchase was extremely successful and dramatically
expanded the size of the United States, Jefferson undermined his very idea of strictly interpreting the
Constitution. Through implied powers, Jefferson justified his right to purchase, ...vast new territories

Athletic Performance Enhancing Drugs In Sports
Athletes from all over the world use athletic performance enhancing drugs to boost their performance
for various reasons. The highest level of sports, the Olympic Games, is the pinnacle for athletes
around the world, so the prospect of winning a medal at the games can inspire cheating. Virtually
every athlete s dream is to become an Olympic gold medalist so doping surrounds the Olympic
Games. Olympic sports go further than the measure of athletic brilliance and dominance. Sports on a
global spectrum are about more than winning trophies and medals; they are an important part of social
culture and they enhance our everyday lives. The present day global sports industry is worth several
hundred billion, so it makes up a huge part of global civilization ... Show more content on

Many scholars are certain that the decision to dope comes from an internal battle between the desire to
win and the ethical decision to stay true to the rules of good, clean sport. Most athletes let their desire
for glory outweigh their moral obligations. To those athletes, doping is determined by individual
mental factors. Other athletes dope for reasons such as quicker recovery, pain management, career
longevity, and so on. According to the article, why we should allow performance enhancing drugs in
sport, the author Julian Savulescu explains how doping is now an everyday part of sports due to the
rise of risks and recompenses in Olympic sports. Savulescu expounds, Elite athletes can earn tens of
millions of dollars every year from prize money alone, and millions more in endorsements (Savulescu
2004). With the temptation of success growing, and the consequences of cheating being miniscule, it
is understandable why doping is

Special Educational Needs Schools Necessary For Children...
Are special educational needs schools necessary for children with profound and multiple learning
difficulties? Abstract The research undertaken for this assignment intended to highlight issues related
to inclusion in mainstream education for students with profound and multiple learning difficulties
(PMLD). The research found that John Cleveland College, a mainstream secondary school in
Leicestershire, would not be able to meet the needs of these young people and will consider the need
for staff training to improve skills and knowledge in order for this inclusive practice to become
possible. The assignment discusses the implications of studies which suggests that mainstream schools
may be able to support the progress of learners with PMLD in ways that special schools may not. The
essay reaches its conclusion by asking for a shift away from the assumption that special educational
needs schools are always the best environment for children with PMLD. Are special educational needs
schools necessary for children with profound and multiple learning difficulties? My context is that I

roll with 650 in year 10 and year 11 respectively with an additional 400 in the Sixth Form. I am the

Similarities Between Frankenstein And The Sorrows Of Young...
In the 19th century, a wave of suicides swept through Europe and the United States. This ripple in
European society was known as the Werther Effect, named after the book, The Sorrows of Young
Werther. The book is picked up by the creature in Frankenstein, and it could be argued that it causes
the creature s suicide along with the many other suicides the book is accused of causing. In Mary
Shelley s Frankenstein, the creature reads The Sorrows of Young Werther by Johann Wolfgang von
Goethe. This novel influences the creature s thinking in both positive and negative ways. The two
Gothic novels actually show a variety of similarities. In The Sorrows of Young Werther, the
protagonist, Werther, reads The Odyssey and unconsciously imitates the protagonist. Some irony is
shown when the creature in Frankenstein picks up The Sorrows of Young Werther and imitates
Werther. Both characters misapply the literature they read to their own lives by taking the desires and
aspirations of the main characters of the stories they read as their own. Both Werther and the creature

variety of similarities. The books both feature characters who misapply literature to their own lives
and who long for something they can never have. The novels also both end in suicide. The Sorrows of
Young Werther affected the creature in mainly negative ways. It could be identified as one of the
major causes of the death of the monster because it gave him the idea of suicide. The monster took
Werther s desires and aspirations as his own which led to his downfall. The few positive effects that
the novel had were that it enabled the creature to understand human emotions better, and it gave him
someone to relate to. Overall, The Sorrows of Young Werther affected the monster in negative

The Economic Impact of Globalization on Turkey
Introduction Globalization has affected the world in many different ways, including cultural exchange,
language development, and information diffusion, along with worldwide economic and financial
growth. Here we wish to analyse the costs and benefits of globalisation to the Republic of Turkey.
More specifically, we will look at the economic and business impacts globalisation has made on
Turkey and its current position with regard to the world economy. Current Economic Situation Today s
economic outlook for Turkey is deteriorating. GDP growth has been revised to 3.6% for 2008 (against
4.3% previously) and to 3.0% for 2009 (previously 4.0%). Turkey s unemployment rate rose to 9.4%.

Therefore, there was not comparable increase in their exports. On the contrary, the rise of montage
industries which used imported components to assemble the products primarily (i.e. electronic goods,
motor vehicles, consumer durables, etc) meant that industrial growth required ever more imports.
Paradoxically, the attempts at import substitution to decrease its trade balance deficit tended to
aggravate it. This strategy also caused other problems: the capital intensive nature of many industrial
investments, especially those in the intermediate goods sector, caused employment in industry to grow
relatively more slowly, which lead to structural unemployment. Moreover, dependence on imported
petroleum to develop its industry made the country highly vulnerable to increases in oil prices. These
are the threats for the country to achieve sustainable economic growth. Late 1970s and early 1980s:
Economic Reform In the late 1970s, the industrial sector of Turkey had reached a turning point. In the
short run, it needed to decrease the trade balance deficit. It was facing shortages of energy, imported
machinery parts, and processing materials. These had caused a decline in industrial output during the
last few years of the decade. In the longer run, to become more efficient and to be able to have more
exports, the industrial structure had to be adjusted in accordance with the country s comparative
advantages. In effect, industry would have to transfer resources out of

Donald Trump A Good President
Around the world, influential people are impacting lives for eternity and earning themselves the title
of an icon. From famous celebrities to the closest friends, people are being affected by others actions
in unimaginable ways. Over the past year, I was able to witness one of the most controversial elections
in American history. Each candidate could be viewed as a role model, but only one stood out the most
to me: Donald Trump. Donald Trump, an American businessman and now the 45th President of the
United States, has a mindset of his own. Not only does Trump speak his mind in an unfiltered manner,
he also suppresses every obstacle that arises. The pure determination of Trump allowed himself to
deteriorate his opponents and also win the Presidency. Because of Trump s intelligence and

Despite being known as the constant underdog to his opponent, the misleading fake news, and his
stressful past that surfaced: Trump was elected the 45th President on the night of November 8, 2016.
By overcoming the odds, Trump can be viewed a fighter who will never be known as a failure. These
specific actions have inspired me because this result is a perfect example of why to never quit. Instead
of being a person who quits because difficult situations are interfering with the process of becoming
successful, Trump became a positive example of what is earned when becoming a fighter. In addition
to inspiring myself to never give up, Trump ran for a political office when he himself had absolutely
no political experience. The key feature of this is that Trump has taught me that no matter what the
circumstance is, I can always become whatever I set my dreams towards. This inspires me because it
teaches me to push more boundaries to a further extent to help me better my future and

Investigating The Model Of The System On The University Of...
In 2010, a study conducted by David Conway and Samsung Lim found that for 1147.6 mm of annual
rainfall around the University of New South Wales, approximately 79 ML could be collected from
rainfall runoff per annum; this meant 30% of campus water use could be replenished by roof water
collection. However, no measures have since been implemented or thoroughly examined in terms of
feasibility. This report aims to address these issues by define the parameters of the study to investigate

By extracting water from the water table, it can result in a cone of depression that may extend beyond
the system boundary; hence the water table is excluded from the analysis. Subsystems The campus
can be divided roughly into three areas: Upper Campus  Botany Street to Central Lecture Block
Middle Campus  Electrical Engineering Building to Red Centre East Wing Lower Campus 
UNSW Business School to Anzac Parade Each area can be divided into three subsystems: Paved areas
(walkways and roads) Buildings (rooftops) Vegetation (lawns, ovals, flora) The manner in which the
subsystems relate to each other is governed by the direction of water flow and surface properties of the
subsystem. Generally, rainfall onto hard surfaces (buildings and paved areas) either results in runoff
into gutters and vegetation or water detention; the opposite is not true, as vegetative areas are
generally much more permeable, meaning more water detention. Figure 2 Subsystem interaction based
on direction of water flow Input The input of this system is the precipitation fallen within the

impact on the amount of runoff to be generated. However, public gutters and drains will

interpretation took reference from Greek mythology and other mythical stories during the renaissance.
Nearly 100 years later, Rueben was inspired by Titan s original theme. Based on his composition and

The Forty Acres Scholarship
The formal definition of a community, is a group of people living in the same vicinity while having a
common characteristic(s). However a community is much more than that, a community is a place that
everyone can benefit and gain from people around them, as well as learn from experiences that they
have faced and share it with others to avoid the same mistakes. In adittion to that, it is also a place
where you can count on in times of trouble and dire need. This philosophy of a community is what
allows individuals and eventually groups of people to be better off and achieve their goals while
helping others in the process. If selected for the Forty Acres Scholars Program I hope to contribute my

Colin Ferguson Analysis
Cultural variability is evident in history, cross culturally, and between social groups within in today s
cultures. There are many things that impact cultural variability of norms such as race, gender, social
class, age, subcultural and religious affiliation (Velasquez, Andre, Shanks Meyers, 1987).
December 7, 1993, Colin Ferguson began to randomly execute the passengers on a New York
commuter train (Who is Colin Ferguson, 2017). After killing six passengers and injuring nineteen
others, he was finally subdued by three of the other passengers (Who is Colin Ferguson, 2017).
Colin Ferguson was born January 14, 1959 in Kingston, Jamaica. His father Von Herman was the
managing director for Hercules Agencies, a large pharmaceutical company. Mr. Herman was highly
regarded and recognized as a prominent businessman in Jamaica (Montaldo, 2017). Ferguson had four
brothers and afforded the privileges that wealth offers in an extreme poverty area. He graduated from
Calabar High School in 1969 with a grade average that was ranked in the top third of his class
(Montaldo, 2017). In 1978 his father was killed in a car crash and a short time later his mother died
from cancer. He would then suffer the loss of the family fortune. At 23 years old Ferguson left
Kingston, Jamaica and moved to the U.S. on a Visitor s Visa (Montaldo, 2017). Ferguson arrived in
America in 1978 into a time when there were mostly white families holding privilege and wealth and
leaving a cultural that was quite the opposite from American. Ferguson also came from a prominent
Jamaican family with wealth and privilege that he would no longer have.
The only jobs Ferguson could get in America were low paying and menial. He blamed racist
Americans for this problem (Montaldo, 2017). He got married to an American citizen who was also of
Jamaican descent. They soon moved to Long Island but Ferguson continued to be frustrated with
reports of loss of temper, outrage, and racial bigotry toward white people who he felt stood in his way
(Montaldo, 2017). In Jamaica he was born into one of the top families in Kingston; Government and
top military members attended his father s funeral. In America he was not given this honor which

The World s Deepest Thinkers
Friedrich Nietzsche is considered one of the Western world s deepest thinkers because he calls so
many things into question. He felt that everyone would benefit greatly by questioning everything. In
1887 he wrote On the Genealogy of Morality to expand on his ideas he expressed through Beyond
Good and Evil. On the Genealogy of Morality consists of three different essays that question and
critique the value of our moral judgements. The first and the one I will focus on, being Good and Evil
, Good and Bad, in which Nietzsche discusses how goodness is relative to the eye of the beholder. He
specifies two different types of groups, the first group being the militaristic and political group, which
he has deemed the masters. The masters view good as having the characteristics of strength, power,
freedom and achievement. The second group being the slaves, which is the group that is controlled by
the masters. The slaves viewing good as having the characteristics of sympathy, charity, forgiveness,
and humility. The characteristics that the masters deemed good, like strength and power, were used as
sources for fear against the slaves and thus were deemed evil. He feels that the slaves deem the things
the masters view as good as evil because of the resentment they have. It is men of a noble rank that
Nietzsche determines has the master morality. These are powerful, healthy and courageous men that
are essentially barbaric to those they claim to be beneath them.

Mud Blindness
Method
Participants
We recruited 18 undergraduate students from a California State University using general class
announcements and one campus posting. Participants were offered academic credit or extra credit for
participating. There were 3 men and 15 women with ages that ranged from 20 27, (M = 22.89, SD =
1.84).
Materials
We used the mud splash paradigm to examine change blindness. Each trial consisted of two Microsoft
PowerPoint images. The first image was of a natural scene and almost identical to the second image,
but a small object was removed from the central area of the scene in the changed image. Additionally
the changed image was nmasked with several high contrast mud splash s, similar to previous research
studies that have used the mud splash paradigm (O Regan et al., 1999), and covered 10%, 20%,, or
40% of the scene. Using Microsoft PowerPoint ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This may have yielded better results, but only when combined with the audio shadowing task. These
results indicated a floor effect because of the insensitive levels of mud splash and the interaction only
at the 40% mud splash level. Future research using this design should include sensitive levels with the
minimum level of mud splash distraction to 40% and increase the range of conditions (Rensink et al.,
1997). The results were similar on a multi modal study where participants completed a verbal
counting task at the same time as a visual search task. Only when the task became cognitively
demanding a significant difference was observed, (Most, 2005). The perception of change in a scene
requires a person to have attended to relevant stimuli and encoded the information into working
memory. Moreover visual change detection occurs when a person has given attention to something.
Yet change blindness occurs because attention had failed to encode the necessary information for
change detection to occur (Rensink, et al.,

Broken Spears Summary
The book, Broken Spears was an interesting reading that talked about the Spanish conquest of
Tenochtitlan. Throughout the book, it becomes clear that the Spanish were successful in their conquest
as a result of a number of factors. The Spanish were intimidating in appearance and in their weaponry.
They had animals that the Aztecs had never seen before. They also formed alliances with rival tribes,
like the Tlaxcaltecas tribe. Finally, one of the key reasons that the Spaniards were able to successfully
conquer the Aztecs was due to the fact that Motecuhzoma himself, believed that Cortes and his men
were gods. In regards appearance, the Spanish were essentially covered from head to toe in iron armor.
Even the weapons they carried were covered in iron. The Aztecs were unaccustomed to the iron clad
individuals. In regards to weaponry, the Spanish were, even more, intimidating in the fact that they
had cannons. The Aztecs describe the cannon to Motecuhzoma, a thing like a ball of stone comes out
of its entrails: it comes shooting sparks and raining fire...smoke that comes out of it has a pestilent
odor. The odor penetrates even the brain and causes great discomfort ( 30). For me personally, the only
reason I can think of for Cortes to fire off a cannon was to show dominance over the Indians. For
people who had never even heard of a cannon before, it is understandable that the Native Americans
were fearful of Cortes and his men. Along with the iron clad armor and weapons the

Essay about Notes from Underground
One word that has come to represent the mid 18th century Enlightenment movement is Reason . The
French philosophes believed that reason could provide critical, informed, scientific solutions to social
issues and problems, and essentially improve the human condition. Russian author Fyodor Dostoevsky
s Notes from Underground is one of the most famous anti Enlightenment novels for its rejection of
these very notions. Through this novel he showed what he believed were gaps in the idea that the mind
could be freed from ignorance through the application of reason, and the rejection of the idea that
humankind could achieve a utopian existence as a result.
The story revolves around the thoughts and rants of an unnamed character that we shall ... Show more

free will, to be able to live... at our own sweet foolish will, that is more valued. Man s freedom of

Despite his unpleasant attitude, the Underground Man does crave attention from others and wants to
be respected for his intelligence and knowledge. However, he is completely unable to interact with
people normally, a characteristic that is perhaps best illustrated through his experiences with the
officer who casually pushes him aside one night when the Underground Man is looking for a fight

is convinced that if anyone were to witness him protesting and speaking literary Russian, they would

Cultural Context Analysis Of A Connecticut Yankee In King...
Cultural Context Analysis A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur s Court moistly takes place 6th
Century England under the rule of the legendary King Arthur. Most of Arthur s and his knights stories
are fictitious, and some experts argue whether King Arthur existed at all. The characters in the novel
are a member of one of 3 classes: the noble class, the clergy, or the lower class. The lower class is
treated extremely unfairly by the other 2 classes with heavy taxation, strict rules, lack of privileges,
and poverty. Most of the people are members of the lower class while only a few are members of the
clergy and nobility. The main character of the story is Hank Morgan, a 19th century main thrust back
into early medieval times. He was a member of the working class, but gains power when he proves
himself to be a magician . He is very intelligent, resourceful, and has a strong dislike for the Catholic
Church. The novel primarily focuses on the negative aspects of medieval culture in England.
Throughout the novel, Hank attempts to change these to fit his 19th century viewpoint, but ultimately
fails when the Catholic Church turns against him. He does succeed in transforming a few medieval
men into 19th century men like Clarence. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Importance Of My Passion In My Life
Life is a lot more enjoyable when you have a passion for something. Whether it be sports, art, singing,
dancing or playing an instrument. In some cases, people grow up and find their passion when they are
many years older. However, that is not the case for me. I found my passion in the most random way.
Choosing to play trumpet at middle school registration was the best decision of my life. It took my
mind off of the hard times, it brought me and is still bringing my biggest achievements, and it gives
me more joy than anything else in the whole world. For the past couple of years before I turned
twelve, I d been watching my cousin Brady be very successful through music and playing the
saxophone. I have memories of going to his band concerts seeing him in the jazz band playing solos
and in the concert band playing classical music. I wanted to be just like him. Flash forward to sixth
grade registration... I d woken up that day imagining playing the first note on my shiny, new
saxophone (inspired by my cousin) later in the afternoon. The day went on, business as usual... Until it
was time to make my final decision at my new middle school. After the question was popped What

The Switch Short Story
The Switch
Then one day tragedy struck, Billy fell ill.
Amy, looking at Billy, whispered, He looks so pale and sick. She paused then continued, Ugh I hope
he doesn t... you know.
Dane responded softly, He is such a fighter, but I don t know if he is going to win this fight. Dane s
voice started to tremble while saying, Amy, I have to make a confession. The other day I wished that
he would leave us alone because it s kinda bothering me that he is always around. I felt like he was
just being a pesky little brother.
Amy sighed. Dane, he s not sick because of you. You know lots of people get sick for other causes.

Kleist And The Birth Of The Earthquake Analysis
Fortunate and merciful; yet brutal and poignant. Heinrich von Kleist s The Earthquake in Chile (1807)
was indeed a story of love, but also contained a definite twist of ferociousness. In Isak Winkel Holm s
Earthquake in Haiti: Kleist and the Birth of Modern Disaster Discourse, Holm portrays two different
interpretations of Kleist s story. He believes that the earthquake could mean the beginning of a siege
of disaster or a merciful act for Josefa and Jeronimo s love. The two analyses are different and yet they
equally correspond to each other s ideas. Thus, it is fair to say that the deconstruction led by the
earthquake was an introduction to the catastrophe that will come in the near future and also the period
where Josefa and Jeronimo could ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the survivors of the earthquake began to help one another to survive, it seemed as if all of the

adapt to their newly formed surroundings, peace overcomes them even in the tragically deformed
enclosure they face. The destruction of the earthquake is quickly forgotten, but is awakened when they
enter the church and the people are reminded of the accusations towards the young couple. This is
where it seems that the peace and the happy memories the couple shared are taken away and they meet

Why Did The Treaty Of Versailles Fail
After the conclusion of World War One, Germany agreed to the terms of the Treaty of Versailles which
imposed large restrictions on Germany s ability to rebuild. One major imposition of the treaty was
reparations equivalent to £6,600,000,000 that was to be payed to France, Britain and America to pay
for damages dealt during the war. By 1923, Germany was struggling to pay reparations to France, as
there economy was already struggling with a lack of able workers, which lead to the French invasion
of the Ruhr; this was especially effective as the Ruhr and the Saar coalfields were major contributors
to the German effort to rebuild their economy and the German military was hugely limited by the
treaty. In the occupation of the Ruhr, German workers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, because of a lack of majority in the Reichstag, the government was indecisive and struggled to
pass laws with split intentions between political parties with influence in the Reichstag. The German
people also longed for their return as a strong power after the loss of the German Empire as the Kaiser
fled after World War One; the leadership of a Kaiser was considered strong and the German people
thought that if they returned to being led by a person of power, they could be a strong nation again.
In conclusion, the Treaty of Versailles was largely responsible for the problems facing the Weimar
government in 1923 as it prompted the Ruhr Crisis, Hyperinflation, attempted rebellion as to oust the
Weimar and a general disrespect for the government. Although, the problems facing the government
was largely brought about by the weak structure of the Reichstag and poor decisions made by German

Reflective Essay For Journalism
I selected journalism as my elective for this year because I wanted to continue the journalism career
that I began in middle school since it allowed me to write about topics that grasped my interest and
passion aside from writing required essays in a classroom setting. In addition, I believed that this
course would allow me to improve my writing skills by learning the ethical, grammatical, and
organizational concepts relating to journalism, such as the code of ethics, the inverted pyramid, and
the editorial hierarchy. I also hoped for the course to help me with responsibility and time
management since I knew I would have to write articles and have other loads of works from other
classes. Not to mention, journalism has allowed me to be motivated to write an outstanding article not
for the grade, but for the sole purpose to make the article right. In middle school journalism was an
extracurricular activity and this year I was graded on my personal interests, my time management, and
my writing quality rather than on the actual learning of a subject. This course has challenged me to
write outstanding pieces of work based on my motivation and time management as well without as
many guidelines and structure given. It also made me a lot more confident since it requires interaction
outside of class to acquire sources for articles. Thus, through reporting I able to establish a rapport
with people and build a network. Overall, this course had helped me become a people person,

Reflective Essay On A Council Meeting
On Monday, November 20th 2017, I attended the City of Atlanta s council meeting while visiting my
friend for the holidays. I have had no experience with any kind of government event outside of student
government, so I personally had no idea what to expect. Driving around in Atlanta was confusing
enough, but we were kindly shown where to go to sit in on the meeting.
The meeting took a while to begin, but it began with role being taken of the council members. The
room itself was large, with a wall of desks in front of the main seating area. After role had been called
the meeting was opened by discussing the recent celebration of Veteran s Day, and the council felt the
need to thank all the active veterans in the community. This was very important to the council and
they said a few words about veterans who had passed that had very positive roles in the community.
The Council then brought up the murder of a 29 year old women over the previous weekend. Prayers
were extended to her family and loved ones out of respect. It was stated that the city is doing
everything that they possibly can to bring justice to the family and apprehend the killer. The third
person to be recognized was a major supporter of the Atlanta community, who was a dear friend to
many of the council members. We then observed a moment of silence for all those previously
mentioned.
At this point in the meeting nothing was very surprising to me, it was just like any other meeting I
have attended. I was used to

Both articles consisted of two witnesses of the Armenian Genocide in their town. The first eyewitness
goes by the name of Zakar Kloian, who was born in 1900, in the Village of Darman, in Turkey. He
was a naturalized citizen of the United States, with a naturalization certificate issued to him by the
District Court of the United States. On May 15, 1915, all the townspeople were kicked out of their
homes from the Turkish gendarmerie. They were forced to travel on foot towards a destination they
were not familiar of. But several days later, a group of armed mobs attacked the group of Armenians,
which distracted the Turkish gendarmes from watching their group. This made an easy opportunity for
the group of Armenians to make an escape, which some of them did. Zakar was one of those people
who fled safely. The second article was also about a woman who experienced the massacre of the
Armenians. Khanum Palootzian, born in 1898, was also from the Village of Darman. ... Show more

endured the atrocities of a Nazi death camp and lived to tell the tale. Primo Levi, a 24 year old Jewish
chemist from Turin Italy, was captured by the fascist militia in December 1943 and deported to Camp
Buna Monowitz in Auschwitz. The trip by train took 4 long days in a jam packed boxcar without food

During Levi s captivity, the Killing Machines had already been tested and were being refined with
each use. Levi describes how selections could be made at any time, anywhere. From the hut in the

chapter when the Germans were evacuating the camp with the healthy prisoners it was not stated
where they were going. It is my impression they were headed for the Killing Machines. The
appeasement of what the Nazi s were doing by other countries was not in the minds of Levi and his
comrades. Survival was of the utmost importance. What was going on in the outside world was of no
significance. Live to see tomorrow was the ultimate goal. The theme of Isolationism was seen
throughout Survival in Auschwitz. Germany was isolated from the rest of the world and Levi was
isolated from his family, friends and country. Within the camp, each hut was separated from one
another and those confined to the infirmary were secluded from the rest. The prisoners themselves

Infant Simulators Role In Reducing Teenage Pregnancy
Teenage pregnancy takes place when a female under the age of 20 falls pregnant.
Boonstra (2011) identified that moderate rates of teenage pregnancy occur in Australia with 43.7
pregnancies per 1000 teenage girls. This is a significant contemporary issue as there are larger risks
involved with teenage pregnancy including health, financial and social implications (Brinkman et al,
2016), creating larger socio economic problems for young parents, their children and society (Zhou et
al, 2016). To reduce the numbers of teenage pregnancy and raise awareness various sex education
systems are placed to manage incidences of pregnancy.

and she says Sometimes I like pretending that I m somebody else, haven t you ever tried it? (King,

that Alison believed it was normal to take the place of another.
The social identity theory is a theory developed by Henry Tajfel, in which Tajfel believes that who we
are socially determines how many positive feelings we have towards ourselves. Basically, if we like
where we stand socially, then we will like who we are and display happiness. In this theory, Tajfel
labels the in group and the out group and says that we will always compare our in group to another s
out group. By comparing these groups, we develop a better personal view on ourselves (King, 2009).
A big factor of the social identity theory is that the groups will tend to critique the differences of the
groups, and overlook the similarities. A modern day example of the social identity theory would be
your everyday high school cheerleaders versus band members. The cheerleaders think of themselves
as the queen bees of the school,

Using quantitative and qualitative data in a study, the researcher nulls the weaknesses (Creswell,
2014). Creswell (2014) states the core assumption of this form of inquiry is that the combination of
qualitative and quantitative approaches provides a more complete understanding of a research problem
than either approach alone . Researchers who hold different philosophical positions may find mixed
methods research to be difficult because of their different beliefs (Greene, 2007). However, mixed
methods research also represents an opportunity to change these tensions into fresh knowledge
through discovery. A pragmatic perspective draws using diverse approaches, giving primacy to the
importance of the research problem and question, and valuing both objective and subjective

The Top Airline Industry
Executive summary
Being one of the top airline industry for almost half a decade, Kingfisher airline went into bankruptcy
recently. Unstable top management coupled with some bad decisions hampered the growth of
kingfisher Airlines. Constant change in the management, sudden shift from economy segment to
luxury segment, a decision to buy Air Deccan even though Kingfisher was not making enough profits,
lack of strategic decision from top management to tackle the soaring fuel prices tied with some other
unhealthy decisions made them to face the contraction portion of business cycle. Kingfisher Airlines
did not recover well from that stage and at the certain time even government denied to bailout
kingfisher from bankruptcy, management staff went on indefinite strike because of the unpaid salaries,
as time passed by customers started to lose trust and there were no hopes for kingfisher other than
shutting down. This case study focuses on some of the major reasons for the failure along with our
analytical view depicted with some of the foremost principles of quality management. Being business

Levi Strauss And The Black Jeans
Denim has been a part of American culture for more than 100 years, and is common all over the
world. It has developed over the years and has become a central part of most people s wardrobes.
Denim went beyond just the pair of blue jeans and is used to make shirts and jackets, increasing its
value as a fabric. I strongly believe that there are very few articles of clothing that are as versatile and
easy to wear as a pair of jeans. With that said, I feel that jeans will be a staple in fashion for both men
and women for many years to come. The origins of denim come from a man named Levi Strauss, who
saw a need for type of pants that would last longer. The jeans would mostly be used for laborers
during the Gold Rush in the late 1800s. So, on May 20, 1873, Levi Strauss and his financial partner
Jacob Davis created the blue jeans (Our Story). His brand, Levi Strauss and Co., also known as simply
Levi s has become one of the most well known denim brands in America. Little did Levi Strauss
know, but he would be the catalyst for one the most iconic and durable garments of clothing to date. It
wasn t until the 1930s that denim became an item that was worn in everyday life rather just a pant to
wear while working. In the 30s there were many Western movies with cowboys wearing denim jeans,
which became very popular for Americans (History). In the 1940s, during World War 2, the denim
overall was introduced and was worn by off duty soldiers (History). This was the time that brands like

Healthcare and the Competitive Market Structure Essay
A competitive market is one that allows easy entry and exit: a market in which companies are
generally free to enter or to leave at will. This does not describe the health care market in the US.
There are certain assumptions that the competitive market model operates under some assumptions,
first is the consumer/patient has full information about the nature of the services required, the
anticipated results of their decision and the benefits obtain from the service. This is not true in health
care often time the patient is operating at a distinct information disadvantage when they require health
care services such as insurance. If a patient purchases health insurance often they don t know enough
information to ascertain if they have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another group often blocked is complementary or alternative health care practitioners. These
restrictions and the insurance industry unwillingness to pay for these services, gives the physicians an
almost monopolist control over health care. Providers must be able to enter the market for competition
to work and there must be many providers vying for the patient. To get the most out of health
insurance plans Consolidation of hospitals and multispecialty group practices increases the negotiating
leverage of the group but in certain areas of the US a single large medical system has become the sole
provider of major health service thereby restricting competition (Shi Singh, 2008). This consolidation
while giving the hospitals and group practice leverage when negotiating prices of supplies and
services tends to increase the price of health care to the patient because there is no longer any
competition (Shi Singh, 2008). For these reason competition will remain less effective in most health
care markets, because the prerequisite for fully competitive markets are not fully met (Federal Trade,
2004, p. 20).
I believe that a pure competitive market based health care system would demand a greater need
independent regulations, accountability, public involvement and scrutiny at all levels to protect the
public good and to maintain and

and these small business have put money in people s pockets. This is starting to pull people from the
middle class to rich or people who are poor to the middle class or even to being rich. Thus effecting
the economy very much, enriching it as people have to buy supplies for their companies or wanting to
finally buy this years new BMW. But the big one is investments in products or services. This is where
people want to make a new product because there is a missing product or necessity on the market.

The Storm Personal Narrative
There were tears in my eyes. I felt compelled to go and join Tyler in comforting Mom, but I stayed
back feeling like if I were to go and join the feeling of comfort would break and the moment would be
over. I didn t want to ruin it. Suddenly Mom s eyes opened from where her head rested on Tyler s
shoulder and she beckoned me with her hand. Slowly, I walked over and wrapped my arms around
Mom and around my twin brother. In that moment I knew that we would stick together and tell each
other the truth no matter how dire the situation was. ↜↝ A few days after the whole incident we had
heard the entire story. The story was basically a history of this secret group of people that are called

Soon a farm house had come into view. Mom drove right up the driveway and parked the car. She
started to get out of the car, but Tyler and I stayed put. We were both curious. I knew this because I felt
the pull in my stomach that I had developed over the years of having a twin. I always knew when
Tyler didn t feel good or felt sad, so I made it hard for him to keep a secret from me. Come on it s
okay these people knew we were coming, Mom said, coming and opening my door and motioning for
us to come out. I opened my door and Tyler followed me out. I studied the house. It was tall, at least
three stories, it was colored a faded rose color with a door painted white with chipping paint. Mom
walked to the front door and rapped on it a few times, a few flakes of paint fluttered down from the
place Mom had hit the door. A few seconds later the door opened to reveal a young woman about
Mom s age. Kathleen! yelled the lady that I assumed owned the house, It s so good to see you, and is
this Tyler and Taylor? She seemed really energetic which surprised me that she knew Mom, because
Mom was the kind of person that didn t talk much to people she didn t know. This meant that the had
met before. Tyler and I just stood back and listened as Mom and the woman caught

Chris Mccandless Escaping The World s Foolishness
Escaping the world s foolishness
Every one of us sometimes thinks that we need a break from life, and that s what Christopher Johnson
McCandless wanted. The book Into the Wild by john Krakauer talks about Chris s journey the
wilderness. Chris was brave to take the decision to go live in the wilderness and hitchhike to Alaska
alone. Shaun Callerman stated that [Chris] made a lot of mistakes based on arrogance... I think he was
jus plain crazy. I disagree with Callerman point of view, because in my opinion Chris wasn t crazy, but
he was courageous. Chris didn t go there to kill himself, but he was enjoying every moment in his
journey. Although, Chris had a love for the wild and being independent; He was just fed up with
society and wanted to live on his own away from all of that.
Since Chris was a kid, he didn t have a good relationship with his parents especially with his father.
Wayne Westerberg Chris s friend described the relation between the dad and the son as that Both
father and son were stubborn and high ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chris wrote to his friend Ronald Franz that you don t need to worry about me [Chris said]. I have a
collage education. I m not destitute. I m living like this by choice (57). That means Chris understands
what he put him self in, and he enjoys it. Chris was courteous. He made friends easily and everyone
met Chris admired him and said he was a smart kid. His friend Wayne Westerberg praised Chris by
saying, there was something fascinating about [Chris}, he was hungry to learn about things (67). In
addition to that, Chris loved the people he met on his way to Alaska and valued everything they have
done to him. That was shown When Chris wrote to Westerberg that one day I ll get back... and repay
some your kindness (33). Adding on that, this message shows that Chris was thinking about coming
back to civilization and not thinking about dying in the

  • 2. The First Political Parties Essay Today, political parties can be seen throughout everyday life, prevalent in various activities such as watching television, or seeing signs beside the road while driving. These everyday occurrences make the knowledge of political parties commonly known, especially as the two opposing political parties: the Republicans and the Democrats. Republican and Democrats have existed for numerous years, predominantly due to pure tradition, and the comfort of the ideas each party presents. For years, the existence of two political parties has dominated the elections of the president, and lower offices such as mayor, or the House of Representatives. Fundamentally, this tradition continues from the very emergence of political parties during the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This extreme Federalist, also the secretary of the treasury, defended his proposition under the essay Defense of the Constitutionality of the Bank, which included the use of Article I, Section 8, arguing that this institution was necessary and proper for the foregoing powers of, ...taxation, regulation of commerce, and making war. 4 Thomas Jefferson s proposition, in comparison, was exceptionally weak and not nearly as well executed as Hamilton s. As a result, Washington allowed for the bank act to be passed. The difference of opinions, furthermore, expanded beyond the ideas regarding the Constitution. Later, the very viewpoints which Jefferson argued against in the debate over the bank, were implemented in his plan for the Louisiana Purchase occurring in 1803.5 Here, Jefferson made a deal with France to purchase, in exchange for fifteen million dollars, territory which would ultimately double the size of the United States. Other athletes dope for reasons such as quicker recovery, pain management, career longevity, and so on. According to the article, why we should allow performance enhancing drugs in sport, the author Julian Savulescu explains how doping is now an everyday part of sports due to the rise of risks and recompenses in Olympic sports. Abstract The research undertaken for this assignment intended to highlight issues related to inclusion in mainstream education for students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). The research found that John Cleveland College, a mainstream secondary school in Leicestershire, would not be able to meet the needs of these young people and will consider the need for staff training to improve skills and knowledge in order for this inclusive practice to become possible. The assignment discusses the implications of studies which suggests that mainstream schools may be able to support the progress of learners with PMLD in ways that special schools may not. This ripple in European society was known as the Werther Effect, named after the book, The Sorrows of Young Werther. The book is picked up by the creature in Frankenstein, and it could be argued that it causes the creature s suicide along with the many other suicides the book is accused of causing. In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, the creature reads The Sorrows of Young Werther by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. This novel influences the creature s thinking in both positive and negative ways. The two Gothic novels actually show a variety of similarities. In The Sorrows of Young Werther, the protagonist, Werther, reads The Odyssey and unconsciously imitates the protagonist. Some irony is shown when the creature in Frankenstein picks up The Sorrows of Young Werther and imitates Werther. Therefore, there was not comparable increase in their exports. On the contrary, the rise of montage industries which used imported components to assemble the products primarily (i.e. electronic goods, motor vehicles, consumer durables, etc) meant that industrial growth required ever more imports. Paradoxically, the attempts at import substitution to decrease its trade balance deficit tended to aggravate it. This strategy also caused other problems: the capital intensive nature of many industrial investments, especially those in the intermediate goods sector, caused employment in industry to grow relatively more slowly, which lead to structural unemployment. Moreover, dependence on imported petroleum to develop its industry made the country highly vulnerable to increases in oil prices. These are the threats for the country to achieve sustainable economic growth. Late 1970s and early 1980s: Economic Reform In the late 1970s, the industrial sector of Turkey had reached a turning point. In the short run, it needed to decrease the trade balance deficit. There are many things that impact cultural variability of norms such as race, gender, social class, age, subcultural and religious affiliation (Velasquez, Andre, Shanks Meyers, 1987). December 7, 1993, Colin Ferguson began to randomly execute the passengers on a New York commuter train (Who is Colin Ferguson, 2017). After killing six passengers and injuring nineteen others, he was finally subdued by three of the other passengers (Who is Colin Ferguson, 2017). Colin Ferguson was born January 14, 1959 in Kingston, Jamaica. His father Von Herman was the managing director for Hercules Agencies, a large pharmaceutical company. Mr. Herman was highly regarded and recognized as a prominent businessman in Jamaica (Montaldo, 2017). Ferguson had four brothers and afforded the privileges that wealth offers in an extreme poverty area. He graduated from Calabar High School in 1969 with a grade average that was ranked in the top third of his class (Montaldo, 2017). In 1978 his father was killed in a car crash and a short time later his mother died from cancer. He would then suffer the loss of the family fortune. At 23 years old Ferguson left Kingston, Jamaica and moved to the U.S. on a Visitor s Visa (Montaldo, 2017). Ferguson arrived in America in 1978 into a time when there were mostly white families holding privilege and wealth and leaving a cultural that was quite the opposite from American. Ferguson also came from a prominent Jamaican family with wealth and privilege that he would no longer have. The only jobs Ferguson could get in America were low paying and menial. He blamed racist Americans for this problem (Montaldo, 2017). He got married to an American citizen who was also of Jamaican descent. They soon moved to Long Island but Ferguson continued to be frustrated with reports of loss of temper, outrage, and racial bigotry toward white people who he felt stood in his way (Montaldo, 2017). He felt that everyone would benefit greatly by questioning everything. In 1887 he wrote On the Genealogy of Morality to expand on his ideas he expressed through Beyond Good and Evil. On the Genealogy of Morality consists of three different essays that question and critique the value of our moral judgements. The first and the one I will focus on, being Good and Evil , Good and Bad, in which Nietzsche discusses how goodness is relative to the eye of the beholder. He specifies two different types of groups, the first group being the militaristic and political group, which he has deemed the masters. The masters view good as having the characteristics of strength, power, freedom and achievement. The second group being the slaves, which is the group that is controlled by the masters. The slaves viewing good as having the characteristics of sympathy, charity, forgiveness, and humility. The characteristics that the masters deemed good, like strength and power, were used as sources for fear against the slaves and thus were deemed evil. He feels that the slaves deem the things the masters view as good as evil because of the resentment they have. It is men of a noble rank that Nietzsche determines has the master morality. Throughout the book, it becomes clear that the Spanish were successful in their conquest as a result of a number of factors. The Spanish were intimidating in appearance and in their weaponry. They had animals that the Aztecs had never seen before. They also formed alliances with rival tribes, like the Tlaxcaltecas tribe. Finally, one of the key reasons that the Spaniards were able to successfully conquer the Aztecs was due to the fact that Motecuhzoma himself, believed that Cortes and his men were gods. In regards appearance, the Spanish were essentially covered from head to toe in iron armor. Even the weapons they carried were covered in iron. The Aztecs were unaccustomed to the iron clad individuals. In regards to weaponry, the Spanish were, even more, intimidating in the fact that they had cannons. The Aztecs describe the cannon to Motecuhzoma, a thing like a ball of stone comes out of its entrails: it comes shooting sparks and raining fire...smoke that comes out of it has a pestilent odor. The odor penetrates even the brain and causes great discomfort ( 30). For me personally, the only reason I can think of for Cortes to fire off a cannon was to show dominance over the Indians. Why Did The Treaty Of Versailles Fail After the conclusion of World War One, Germany agreed to the terms of the Treaty of Versailles which imposed large restrictions on Germany s ability to rebuild. One major imposition of the treaty was reparations equivalent to £6,600,000,000 that was to be payed to France, Britain and America to pay for damages dealt during the war. By 1923, Germany was struggling to pay reparations to France, as there economy was already struggling with a lack of able workers, which lead to the French invasion of the Ruhr; this was especially effective as the Ruhr and the Saar coalfields were major contributors to the German effort to rebuild their economy and the German military was hugely limited by the treaty. Also, because of a lack of majority in the Reichstag, the government was indecisive and struggled to pass laws with split intentions between political parties with influence in the Reichstag. In conclusion, the Treaty of Versailles was largely responsible for the problems facing the Weimar government in 1923 as it prompted the Ruhr Crisis, Hyperinflation, attempted rebellion as to oust the Weimar and a general disrespect for the government. Reflective Essay For Journalism I selected journalism as my elective for this year because I wanted to continue the journalism career that I began in middle school since it allowed me to write about topics that grasped my interest and passion aside from writing required essays in a classroom setting. In addition, I believed that this course would allow me to improve my writing skills by learning the ethical, grammatical, and organizational concepts relating to journalism, such as the code of ethics, the inverted pyramid, and the editorial hierarchy. I also hoped for the course to help me with responsibility and time management since I knew I would have to write articles and have other loads of works from other classes. Not to mention, journalism has allowed me to be motivated to write an outstanding article not for the grade, but for the sole purpose to make the article right. In middle school journalism was an extracurricular activity and this year I was graded on my personal interests, my time management, and my writing quality rather than on the actual learning of a subject. This course has challenged me to write outstanding pieces of work based on my motivation and time management as well without as many guidelines and structure given. It also made me a lot more confident since it requires interaction outside of class to acquire sources for articles. Thus, through reporting I able to establish a rapport with people and build a network. Overall, this course had helped me become a people person, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I have had no experience with any kind of government event outside of student government, so I personally had no idea what to expect. Driving around in Atlanta was confusing enough, but we were kindly shown where to go to sit in on the meeting. The meeting took a while to begin, but it began with role being taken of the council members. The room itself was large, with a wall of desks in front of the main seating area. After role had been called the meeting was opened by discussing the recent celebration of Veteran s Day, and the council felt the need to thank all the active veterans in the community. This was very important to the council and they said a few words about veterans who had passed that had very positive roles in the community. The Council then brought up the murder of a 29 year old women over the previous weekend. Prayers were extended to her family and loved ones out of respect. It was stated that the city is doing everything that they possibly can to bring justice to the family and apprehend the killer. The third person to be recognized was a major supporter of the Atlanta community, who was a dear friend to many of the council members. We then observed a moment of silence for all those previously mentioned. At this point in the meeting nothing was very surprising to me, it was just like any other meeting I have attended. On May 15, 1915, all the townspeople were kicked out of their homes from the Turkish gendarmerie. They were forced to travel on foot towards a destination they were not familiar of. This made an easy opportunity for the group of Armenians to make an escape, which some of them did. Zakar was one of those people who fled safely. Primo Levi, a 24 year old Jewish chemist from Turin Italy, was captured by the fascist militia in December 1943 and deported to Camp Buna Monowitz in Auschwitz. The trip by train took 4 long days in a jam packed boxcar without food or water. Once there, interrogations by the SS of age and health determined life as a prisoner or untimely death. In the last chapter when the Germans were evacuating the camp with the healthy prisoners it was not stated where they were going. It is my impression they were headed for the Killing Machines. The appeasement of what the Nazi s were doing by other countries was not in the minds of Levi and his comrades. Survival was of the utmost importance. What was going on in the outside world was of no significance. Live to see tomorrow was the ultimate goal. The theme of Isolationism was seen throughout Survival in Auschwitz. When Alison says this to Hannah, she says it in a tone of voice that makes the audience believe that Alison believed it was normal to take the place of another. The social identity theory is a theory developed by Henry Tajfel, in which Tajfel believes that who we are socially determines how many positive feelings we have towards ourselves. Basically, if we like where we stand socially, then we will like who we are and display happiness. In this theory, Tajfel labels the in group and the out group and says that we will always compare our in group to another s out group. By comparing these groups, we develop a better personal view on ourselves (King, 2009). A big factor of the social identity theory is that the groups will tend to critique the differences of the groups, and overlook the similarities. It has developed over the years and has become a central part of most people s wardrobes. Denim went beyond just the pair of blue jeans and is used to make shirts and jackets, increasing its value as a fabric. I strongly believe that there are very few articles of clothing that are as versatile and easy to wear as a pair of jeans. With that said, I feel that jeans will be a staple in fashion for both men and women for many years to come. The origins of denim come from a man named Levi Strauss, who saw a need for type of pants that would last longer. The jeans would mostly be used for laborers during the Gold Rush in the late 1800s. So, on May 20, 1873, Levi Strauss and his financial partner Jacob Davis created the blue jeans (Our Story). His brand, Levi Strauss and Co., also known as simply Levi s has become one of the most well known denim brands in America.
