The Economic Impact of the Olympic Games
Abstract Since de Second World War , there has been a substantial increase in the range of events
worldwide, varying from single day fetes and fairs to major sporting and cultural festivals.
Special events are seen to have the ability to produce a wide range of significant economic and social
benefits for communities and regions. In seeking to understand the field of special events, I took as a
case study the Olympic Games mega event.
KEYWORDS: special events, Olympic games, mega events, economic impact, investments
INTRODUCTION
The fundamental aim of this research is to measure the economic impact of the Olympics globally,
regional and local. During the 1990s, there has been a growing number of people advocating a move

As well as providing opportunities to increase direct expenditure at a destination, they can also
contribute substantially to a destination s range of tourist attractions, facilitate media coverage for the
destination, promote awareness of the destination for future visitation and lead to the construction of
new facilities and infrastructure. The prominence given to special events by governments and tourism
marketing organisations has resulted in some destinations seeking to specialise in the creation and
hosting of special events. There is also a trend towards the construction of mega venues catering for
conventions, trade shows, art and sporting events.
The proliferation of events, and event producing agencies, has resulted in the need for the performance
of events to be evaluated more stringently. Event managers and planners are now being called upon
more often to prepare comprehensive post event evaluations with detailed accounts of the impacts of
the event. As many special events require financial assistance from governments and businesses in
order to be staged, post event evaluations are required by such agencies that need to assess the value
of their investments. Evaluation is also required by event organisers who need to justify their activities
to a diverse set of stakeholders, which includes sponsors, funding agencies, economic and tourism
development agencies, special interest groups, and the

Diamond Foods Accounting Scandal
Diamond Foods Accounting Scandal
BACKGROUND:
Founded in 1912 as a walnut grower cooperative, Diamond Food s primary business involved buying
walnuts from local California growers, processing the product, and reselling it. The San Francisco
based company converted from a cooperative to a public corporation in July of 2005, issuing its initial
shares for $17. By 2010, Diamond Foods (DMND) had expanded and acquired a number of snack
food companies including Kettle Brand® Chips and Pop Secret® popcorn and was negotiating the
acquisition of the Pringles brand from the Procter amp; Gamble Company (Diamond Foods, 2014).
The addition of the Pringles brand would make Diamond the second largest global snack foods
company behind PepsiCo, Inc., ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The details of how these costs were pulled apart and separated will be further explained in the
following section.
From the beginning Diamond had put a focus on the commodity walnut market. The company had
forged strong relationships with the growers of the nuts and held pride in continuing the positive
relationship throughout the future of the company. So as the growers began to hand down larger costs,
Diamond needed to find a way to ensure that the growers got the full amount they were seeking in
order to keep ties strong and avoid the growers leaving Diamond for one of its competitors, while also
continue to meet the earnings per share (EPS) expectations. According to the case filed by the SEC in
2014, In February 2010, Diamond CFO Neil instructed members of the Finance Team to adjust the
walnut costs to hit an EPS target for the second quarter. Members of the Finance Team provided Neil
with a walnut cost estimate that would result in reported EPS that would be higher than the consensus
analyst of estimated $0.47 per share for the quarter (SEC, 2014). However, the growers were not
satisfied with this method of determining prices and threatened to leave Diamond if full costs were not
received. Neil determined a way to close the gap through continuity or momentum payments. This
technique allowed Diamond to pay the full amount that the growers were giving, but separated the
costs out. Diamond only the portion on the financial

Hector Berlioz, My Favorite Composer
Hector Berlioz, my favorite composer, (born December 11, 1803ㅡdied March 8, 1869) is deemed one
of the greatest who, ...[contributed] to the modern orchestra with his Treatise on Information. His
mental state and life shaped a composer who had such a raw, creative sound that is reflected
prominently in his works, such as Symphonie fantastique and La Damnation de Faust.
During the age of where he was to attend school, France was at war and as a result he had to be taught
by his father who first introduced the young boy to music, which I think was the moment he sparked
an interest in music. By the age of twelve he was composing for large chamber groups where he was
taught to play the flute and guitar. As every father has dreams for their kids, he sent Berlioz off to
Paris to study medicine where he obtained his first degree in science. With the love of music in his
heart, he forced his acceptance to where he would be a pupil of Jean François Lesueur, professor at
Paris Conservatoire.
Having Manic Depressive illness, or bipolar disorder, is probably the reason he was so creative in his
works which is exemplified in Symphonie fantastique. In 1826, he was enrolled into Paris
Conservatoire, and a year after ... [he was] inspired to write Symphonie fantastique, a piece that broke
new ground in orchestral expression. This magnificent piece that I fell in love with depicts, ...an artists

Analysis Of Bruce Bairinsfather s One Of Those Balkan...
Bruce Bairinsfather s One of Those Balkan Muddles cartoon depicts a dejected soldier, profoundly
confused about his nationality and identity. The man does not seem to possess a clear ethnicity or
home country, thus neither does he possess a true citizenship. He is not specifically tied to any one
people, geographical area, or culture. The Empire was a confusing, heterogeneous mixture of several
ethnicities forced into a single citizenship and state. This caricature reflects a comedized reality for
many people living within the borders of the Austro Hungarian Empire during and prior to World War
One. As a real life example, the imperial census of the Austro Hungarian Empire in 1910 caused
problems when it asked subjects to state their identity. The official criterion was language spoken, yet
controversy raged when others argued for history, geography, anthropology and ethnography as the
key criteria. Divisively, Emperor Franz Joseph, at the head of a dynasty which was supposed to be
supra national, put himself down firmly as German on the census form . Bairinsfather s cartoon soldier
is the personification of Empire s lack of clear collective identity, and thus no true citizenship. This
issue will eventually lead to the dissolution of the Empire into several constituent states.
The epoch that the cartoon was drawn in was defined by the emergence of a central force in
geopolitics: The nation state. The force of nationalism, neither benevolent nor malevolent, surfaced as

My Beloved Shelbie By Jane Austen
To My Beloved Shelbie, At first, I wanted to write you a love letter describing how I feel about you,
and what you mean to me, but I believe it is better if in addition to describing my feelings that I clear
up all our miscommunications as best I can. Please understand that we see some things differently, an
example being when you felt that I expected something out of you that was likely my fault for not
doing my best to communicate my feelings but I never want you to feel like I demand something from
you or that you owe me something, because you don t, and I would be the first to tell you to not
tolerate that from anyone. It is something that I have viewed as an absolutely despicable and immature
act and I would never consciously do that to you. I may just have gotten anxious about telling you
how I feel because I could not bare to keep it from you for my own sake, I could not bare to hide that I
love you. To quote Jane Austen In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be
repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you. And that s just it, it was
something I had to do and I did it in an absolutely cringeworthy manner for that I m sorry, I m also
sorry for any trouble or stress I may have caused you as I often caught myself after the fact realizing
that in an attempt to get you to like me ,in a purely platonic manner, I may have just said something
that was ridiculous and made me look like an idiot. And despite all of

The Swing Portrays by Jean-Honoré Fragonard
Jean Honoré Fragonard created The Swing in 1766 with oil paints on a 2 8.6 by 2 2 canvas. It is
located in London, England in the Wallace Collection. During the time this work was created, France
was an aristocracy and The Swing portrays a glimpse of the luxurious life of the ruling class. King
Louis XV ruled during a time when France was the most prosperous and powerful country in all of
Europe. Through the influence of Madame de Pompadour, the arts prospered during this time. In the
18th century during King Louis reign the arts seemed to consume the thoughts of not only the artists
themselves but also the King and other wealthy and influential members of society. This in turn
resulted in neglect of the undertakings of the state, which had its consequences. In 1789, the bloody
French Revolution took place and soon after, the fall of the monarchy. The Swing is undoubtedly the
most famous of all Fragonard s compositions. It epitomizes the Rococo style of the 18th century with
tranquil colors and gentle light, exaggerated diagonals, decorations, and nature. . The libertine Baron
de St. Julien commissioned this piece. He ordered that Fragonard paint the bishop pushing his
Madame on a swing. Fragonard painted for the baron de Saint Julien his first great masterpiece and
from then on he knew that for the rest of his life he would paint for people of wealth. He painted for
many individuals including the king because his talent was something that everyone desired. The

Print Media Banning Cigarettes
America has a drug problem and the majority of the public is aware of this; however, more than
480,000 premature deaths in the United States each year can be attributed to cigarette smoking (Center
for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). Additionally, 16 million Americans currently suffer from a
tobacco related illness (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). Despite tobacco being the
top one preventable cause of death in the United States, 42.1 million Americans continue to consume
the drug daily (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). Although many restrictions have
been placed on tobacco marketing, the tobacco industry continues to use its economic power and
powerful persuasion tactics to interfere with tobacco control. ... Show more content on

Despite these restrictions, there was actually an increase in the percentage of smokers after the ban
(Teel, Teel, Bearden, 1979). Eventually, the tobacco industry began focusing on print media as a
viable alternative to advertise cigarettes. However, during the early 20th century, the tobacco industry
was invincible in air broadcast media. For generations, millions of individuals were exposed to ads
featuring false claims about tobacco that attributed smoking to unrealistic glamour and popularity.
Major themes in cigarrete ads during the early 1900s included satisfaction, the reduction of anxiety,
and desirable associations. Through the use of imagery, tobacco companies conveyed the message that
smoking was cool. By featuring celebrities, doctors, the military, cartoon characters, macho cowboys,
and beautiful women, these ads were able to successfully target all population subgroups (Warner,
1985). Today, there exists scientific evidence that smoking tobacco is associated with cancer (Wang et
al., 2015). Although the negative health effects of tobacco were not initially known of at the time,
some people still feared that smoking would contribute to adverse health effects. To deflect the fear
that smoking was dangerous, smoking ads began portraying scientists, doctors, nurses, and dentists
endorsing tobacco (Warner,

Guise Of Feminism In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown
Guise of Feminism Some authors may not even realize how equality can easily be thrown off and as a
result have a negative effect on books and readers who notice it. We as readers of, tend to not
completely grasp the presence of the anti feminist society. Feminism, or equality of the sexes, can be
seen in Nathaniel Hawthorne s text as he portrays women as innocent, powerless, and non influential
indivuals. Not only does feminism play a role in the painted society of Young Goodman Brown, but
also in countless societies today. The exact meanings of the characters actions, are not completely
understood unless the main focus is kept on this specific lense, feminism. It can help to make the
logical assumption that this is in fact an anti feminist text by understanding the different scenes and
how they are associated with feminism. It is recognizable that most women are lead by what men
choose based upon Faith being viewed as an object, the anti feminist idea dealing with only men
killing off family members and elder men using power over innocent women, and the other women
characters representing significant figures in religious society but characterizing them as unimportant
and even evil in the short story. As previously mentioned, women were almost forced to follow the
religion, choices, and possessed incapabilities unlike men. To start off, Faith, has no choice
whatsoever to what religion she is to follow. It is clearly implied by the statement, And Faith, as the

Hemp for the True American Victory
One of the first things about marijuana history that the American public still doesn t understand is that
cannabis, was once very legal to grow in the United States. In fact, up until 1883 it was one of the
largest agricultural crops in the world, including America.(The Union) But it wasn t grown for the
psychoactive plant cannabis sativa. Cannabis hemp, which carries a fraction of the amount of THC,
(the compound in marijuana that attributes to the high feeling) was and is used all over the world,
producing the overall majority of Earth s fiber, fabric, paper, and medicines.(Herer,20) Hemp has a
deep American History as well, from the gardens of George Washington and Benjamin Franklin to the
8,327 American hemp plantations counted in the 1850 census.(Herer,15) Yet the Federal government
now recognizes cannabis as a Schedule I drug with no medical value, and 23 States have legalized
cannabis for medicinal use. (The Union) Even though some western states such as Oregon and
Colorado are making legal changes to marijuana policy at the state level, the most beneficial
marijuana law we could pass is and always has been the Nationwide legalization of industrial
Cannabis Hemp.
Hemp was legal tender in most of the Americas from 1631 to the early 1800s, you could buy anything
with hemp, even pay taxes. (Herer, 1) The first law passed on Marijuana in the

Two Triangles In Virginia Woolf s To The Lighthouse
The triangle is the strongest geometric shape. It cannot physically collapse, and stresses are equally
distributed over all three legs. But the triangle, like many things that have roots in the number three,
requires a dichotomy of balance and instability. To illustrate this dichotomy, take two triangles, one
that sits upright with its single point above its base, and the other that is inverted, with the wide base
above the single point, on which the shape balances and teeters. In Virginia Woolf s To the Lighthouse
(1927), the solitary points of these two triangles are personified in Mrs. Ramsay (in the upright, stable
triangle) and Lily Briscoe (in the inverted triangle). The novel itself takes on a triad form, separated
into three sections: The Window, Time Passes, and The Lighthouse. Mrs. Ramsay rules in the first
section, and Lily Briscoe in the last, with the middle section a mere twenty pages that covers ten years
of time, including the death of Mrs. Ramsay acting as a transient moment of flux in which the careful
balance established during the dinner party scene in The Window fades and leaves Lily Briscoe the
sole triangle. It is in The Lighthouse that Lily Briscoe finally finishes her painting and has her vision
(Woolf, 209). This vision, and the creation and protection that both Lily and Mrs. Ramsay specialize
in, are essential to their queering of their family unit. This transaction, for both women, becomes
apparent in the climax of the novel, Mrs.

of these numeral combinations. After the player has chosen their five numbers, they pick another, final
number that is between 1 and 35 the powerball. A list of the combinations would look like (1, 2, 3, 4,

Maya Angelou s the Graduation
Maya Angelou s The Graduation Throughout life we go through many stepping stones, Maya Angelou
s autobiographical essay Graduation , was about more than just moving on to another grade. The
unexpected events that occurred during the ceremony enabled her to graduate from the views of a
child to the more experienced and sometimes disenchanting views of an adult. Upon reading the story
there is an initial feeling of excitement and hope which was quickly tarnished with the awareness of
human prejudices. The author vividly illustrates many mood changes she undergoes throughout the
story. From the outset of the story there is an overwhelming sense of hope that has enveloped the

All her perfect practice was now gone and the strain as they fumbled for their chairs began to crush
their pattern. The author was overcome with a presentiment of worse things to come. Don Leavy s
speech caused a fury to start boiling inside of the author due to the assumed fact that she has lost
control over her future. The accomplishment was nothing. , she has already been picked to act and
assume a certain role in society. Anything they aspired for other than maids or farmers was farcial and
presumtous. Along with this fury came frustration. This frustration is like a blanket that is too short to
cover you, no matter how much you stretch and pull, it never covers you whole. This is now what was
consuming her mind. For the moment she had to sit there and listen to the garbage filling the room,
listen to charges brought against my color. What had been beautiful, was now ugly. She hated the
human race for what it had become, a race or mass of people concreted on bias. The ceremony that
had started out as a night of hope had now become an eternity of hopelessness. Moving from a
childlike bliss to an awakening of the world s prejudice, the author makes the words take on flesh. The
story is made alive as she breathes life into a time that is unpleasant yet not void of hope. The hush
hush magic time of frills and gifts and congratulations disappeared when they were told the cold hard
`truth of their fate that some white man had already decided for them.

Mackinnon Thinking Sex
The third wave of feminism coincided with the end of the second wave. It occurred from the 1990s
and is still present in contemporary society. This wave focuses on a post modern understanding of
gender boundaries and sexual identity. Most notably, the emergence of anti pornographic movements
during the third wave created a divide between radical and sex positive views on sexuality. In
MacKinnon s article Feminism, Marxism, Method, and the State: An Agenda for Theory, she draws on
the parallel between sexuality and marxism. The exploitation of work in marxism is comparable to the
exploitation of female sexuality for men (MacKinnon 16). The exploitation of women as a sexual
object for male gratification is apparent in pornography. MacKinnon ... Show more content on

MacKinnon s categorization of gender fails to take into account the difference in sexual desires.
Within the socio legal context, the regulation of sexual activities generalizes patterns of norms and
marginalizes those who do not fit within this binary. This results in the suppression of natural
masochistic desire and identity. As suggested by Rubin, feminist critiques of gender hierarchy must be
incorporated into a radical theory of sex, and the critique of sexual oppression should enrich feminism
(Rubin 180). Rubin argues that the feminist critique of protecting women due to their status as
subordinates effectively displace their sexual liberation (Rubin

Uelsmann s work was not well received in the photography community. His creations were not

Impact Of Title Ix On Education And Labor
Impact of Title IX on Education and Labor Who created the stereotype that only men could do the
jobs made for men ? For years and years people only saw the man as the one that supports the family,
and does all of the heavy duty jobs demanded. Women slowly became the ones responsible for home
and family care. Education was put on a backseat for women because many left school to begin a
family. Being passed in 1972 Title IX, as a part of the Education Amendments of 1972, prohibited the
discrimination or any restrictions on genders in education. Title IX states that No person in the United

basic principles that Title IX was found on.The ten key areas of Title IX were: access to higher
education, career education, education for pregnant and parenting students, employment, learning
environment, math and science, sexual harassment, standardized testing and technology( history ).
With more and more women being admitted into colleges and universities, women began to observe
their own athletic talent and began to branch out of just obtaining an education to being successful in
the sports world. Many of the professional women athletes that are around today credit Title IX for
providing the opportunity for all women to participate in further education and athletics. With the
introduction of Title IX came the rising of feminine groups supporting and pushing for more rights.

Individual therapy carried out over the Internet can include asynchronous methods, such as e mail,
synchronous methods, such as web based messaging (instant messaging), chat, videoconferencing or

additional emerging online modalities. Online counseling may be provided as the primary treatment

advantages of online counseling. First of all, it provides accessibility to individuals who are disabled

Three Plans For Reconstruction Essay
Analysis of the Three Plans for Reconstruction
The American Civil War, lasting from 1861 1865, was the most severe military conflict the country
had seen; it involved the United States of America (the Union), and eleven secessionist Southern states
(the Confederate States of America). The war was the upshot of decades worth of political, social, and
economic conflict between the agricultural South, which produced mainly cash crops such as cotton,
tobacco, and sugarcane, and the industrial North. The South depended on its four million slaves for its
social and economic livelihood, whereas the North despised slavery as immoral and illegal. Even
before General Lee s surrender in 1865, the federal government was confronted with an ... Show more

However, the Black Codes imposed by the Southern State governments, as well as the stiff resistance
to Reconstruction, infuriated the North. The Black Codes aimed to stifle former slaves freedom by
hindering their economic options through debt peonage, sharecropping, tenant farming, vagrancy
laws, and curfews; in a phrase, slavery by another name.
Congress decided to punish the South for their continuous resistance to Reconstruction by scrapping
Johnson s failing plan, and establishing Congressional Reconstruction. Congressional Reconstruction
was by far the most vindictive, and therefore most loathsome to the South. Over the course of ten
years, Congress passed the 13th Amendment (abolishing slavery), and established the Freedmen s
Bureau in March of 1865 (providing food, medical aid, and education to freed people). It passed the
Civil Rights Act of 1866 (granting citizenship to blacks, and authorizing the federal government to
protect their rights), the 14th Amendment ratified in 1868 (solidifying the Civil Rights Act by defining
citizenship and guaranteeing equal protection under the law), and the Reconstruction Acts in 1867.
The Reconstruction Acts established Radical Reconstruction, namely by dividing the South (excluding
Tennessee) into five military districts, headed by northern generals. Once fifty one percent of the
voting population had taken an oath to the constitution, all qualified voters (including blacks) could

KPMG Sued by New Century Trustee Over Subprime Lender s Demise
By Sophia Pearson April 2, 2009 00:36 EDT
April 2 (Bloomberg) KPMG International, which oversees the fourth largest U.S. accounting firm,
was sued by the trustee for bankrupt subprime lender New Century Financial Corp. over claims it
failed in its role as gatekeeper.
Negligent audits and reviews by KPMG LLP, the U.S. member firm of KPMG International, led to
New Century s collapse, according to lawsuits filed yesterday in state court in Los Angeles and federal
court in New York. The suits, filed against both KPMG International and KPMG LLP, seek at least $1
billion in damages.

KPMG advised New Century to alter the way it calculated reserves for repurchasing mortgage loans
that didn t meet certain conditions, according to the Los Angeles complaint. New Century s
calculations for required reserves were wrong and violated generally accepted accounting principles,
the complaint said.
Mistakes in calculation grew to more than $300 million and repurchase requests soared to $8 billion
once New Century s true financial condition was known, the complaint said. The company could no
longer borrow money to finance its lending business and collapsed owing billions.
Professional Standards
Any claim that we acquiesced to client demands is unsupportable, Ginsburg said. KPMG acted in
accordance with professional standards in New Century, and we will vigorously defend our audit
work.
Last year, a report by bankruptcy court examiner Michael J. Missal concluded KPMG could be
accused of professional and negligent misrepresentation although the firm had possible legal defenses
to such claims. The 581 page report, unsealed in March 2008, didn t conclude that KPMG engaged in
fraud.
Thomas, the trustee s attorney, won a $521.7 million verdict in a similar lawsuit brought by a
Portuguese bank against BDO Seidman, the seventh largest U.S. accounting firm. A jury found in
August 2007 that the firm failed to detect a fraud leading to the collapse of a client of Banco Espirito

Frida Film Analysis Essay
Frida and the Role of Women During the 1930 s and 1940 s, women of the world held virtually one
role and one role only...homemaker. This was no different for the women of Mexico, except for one
woman in particular, Frida Kahlo. Frida refused to accept the current ideals of society and the
accepted social norms by engaging in things that few women in history ever had. Frida was involved
in politics, she was promiscuous with men and women, she painted pictures of herself in ways that had
never been done before, and she wore the clothes of her indigenous people as opposed to the current
fashions of the world. The movie Frida showcases all of these qualities. The director, Julie Taymor,
uses the symbolism of these things to show how Frida ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Frida had an affair with Leon Trotsky while he was living in her home. Trotsky was only one of the
many men and women with whom Frida had an affair with while she was married to Diego Rivera. In
the movie, it is even hinted at that Frida had an affair with Diego s ex wife. During the roaring
twenties and on into the 30 s and 40 s, sexuality and promiscuity were beginning to become more
prevalent in society. This new breed of women was called Flappers (About.com). Even though these
women were viewed as being promiscuous for their time period, some women like Frida, were viewed
as a novelty in society. Frida was far ahead of the times with her sexuality and once again, she did not
care what was thought of her actions and how she was viewed by society. Director Taymor does and
excellent job of portraying Frida as a promiscuous and sexually curious woman in the movie. There
are countless times during the movie where Frida dances with a woman, kisses a woman, lays in a bed
with a woman which was highly frowned upon in society during that time. Frida was a very skilled
painter who did mainly self portraits where she expressed her feelings and portrayed herself in
unconventional ways. Frida would take some of the events of her life and paint them. For example,
Frida painted the auto accident she was in that left her with traumatizing pain, the miscarriages she
suffered as a result of the accident, the heartbreak she

On The Rainy River Rhetorical Analysis
Rhetorical Analysis Paper
The relationship you have with others often has a direct effect on the basis of your very own personal
identity. In the essay On The Rainy River, the author Tim O Brien tells about his experiences and how
his relationship with a single person had affected his life so dramatically. It is hard for anyone to rely
fully on their own personal experiences when there are so many other people out there with different
experiences of their own. Sometimes it takes the experiences and knowledge of others to help you
learn and build from them to help form your own personal identity. In the essay, O Brien speaks about
his experiences with a man by the name of Elroy Berdahl, the owner of the fishing lodges that O Brien
stays on while on how journey to find himself. The experiences O Brien has while there helps him to
open his mind and realize what his true personal identity was. It gives you a sense than our own
personal identities are built on the relationships we have with others. There are many influences out
there such as our family and friends. Sometimes even groups of people such as others of our
nationality and religion have a space in building our personal identities.
In the essay O Brien is faced with a conflict, a moral dilemma. He had to decide whether he was either
going to go to the war and fight or was he going to run away and avoid the draft. The relationship he
had with Berdahl was not of friends or even regular acquaintances. Rather they were perfect strangers.
That goes to show you that anyone can be a major influence on your life. Berdahl helped to open O
Brien s heart. He realized who he was and where he had come from, his past and what he has been
through. How all the events of the past helped him to become the person he was right now. How his
past helped form his personal identity.
The formation of our own personal identities often begins at birth. As you grow up, your parents are a
major influence on you. They teach you many things and help to shape your personal identity. They
teach you the basics, from knowing right from wrong with your basic moral values. Your moral values
are often built upon the basic morals your parents have and what they have taught you in return.

Kelly Lusk s A Love Story
Kelly Lusk s (a love story) surrounds six different characters all finding and dealing with their idea of
love. This play was selected as a participant in the National New Play Network s 2013 Master of Fine
Arts workshop at Kennedy Center as well as read at Orlando Shakespeare Theater s 2013 festival of
new plays, PlayFest. Playwright, Kelly Lusk recently completed his Master of Fine Arts degree in
playwriting at Indiana University and has written many other plays including, Space, and king
oedipus. As (a love story) is about people loving other to the best of their abilities, it is not your
typical love story. (A love story) is narrated by three quite humorous characters that provide
explanations and commentary on the situations the other characters have encountered in that moment.
They also play supporting, anthropomorphic roles as plants and an ant. This trio acts as a Greek
chorus, which is a small group of actors who comment, either by speaking or singing in unison, on the
action of the play. While this play was humorous at times, it tells the tragic as well as happy outcomes
love can have.

Light Rail System
The feasibility of a light rail system is possible when looking at the amount of room in the city of
Pittsburgh. This light rail system would be able to help transport college students, city workers, and
other Pittsburgh citizens. A light rail system would help to thin out the heavy traffic that vastly impacts
the environment with car emissions and still leave the city with some room to expand. A light rail
system in the city of Pittsburgh could be set up to run on a straight line system that would follow a
North to South and an East to West pattern. Quite like the room to build a light rail system, the
engineers and construction builders are plentiful in the Pittsburgh region for such a project. So,
workers would not be much of a factor for constructing a light rail system. ... Show more content on

Although funding for a few hundred million dollar project would be hard to obtain, it is still possible.
It may take several years of writing grants to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation

of obtaining environmental permits as well as getting utility companies to cooperate is another subject
of its own that majorly impacts the project feasibility. Even with those impacts, the project is still
possible because new transportation systems overcome these factors each year. Though this type of
transit system is possible, it would take a major spokesperson or government official to get the project

The Mauryan Empire was the first major empire in the history of India and existed from around 324
BC to 185 BC. It was ruled by the Mauryan dynasty and was one of the was the largest and most
powerful political and military empires of ancient India. Chandragupta Maurya founded the Mauryan

Al-Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden
Osama bin Laden founded al Qaeda in 1988 with the goal to rid Muslims countries of western
influences and replace their governments with Islamic regimes. Born in an extraordinarily wealthy
family, Osama bin Laden used his family s money to found the terroristic organization. Abdullah
Yusus Azzam was an influential Palestinian Sunni Islamic scholar who mentored bin Laden and
persuaded him to come to Afghanistan. The main goals of al Qaeda are to: spread Islam through the
world with or without the consent of the occupants, destroy Israel and it s affiliates, terrorize the
United States of America, financially bleed the United States, and fight to defend the rights of
Muslims. The organization s numerous attacks against the United States, and all of humanity (except
the Muslims) have changed the world s perception of terrorism. There are numerous religious
affiliates of al Qaeda, some of which include, Sunni Islamism, Takfirism, and Qutbism. There are very
few supporters of al Qaeda s beliefs and actions. Osama bin Laden issued a fatwa, a ruling point of
Islamic law given by a recognized authority, which eventually amounted to a public declaration of war
against the United States and its allies. There is a tremendous amount of confusion about the
connections between the Taliban and al Qaeda. Although the two have ties, they are completely
separate and distinct groups who have different goals. Starting in the late 1980s, an international
terrorist network, al Qaeda, changed the

Early Contractor Procurement Essays
Summary
Intro
What is early contractor procurement?
Early Contractor Procurement is a way to get the contractor involved before the construction phase
begins, (Mosey, 2011). The idea of this is to make use of the contractor and their knowledge and
understanding of the construction industry. This means fewer disputes over design issues.
When the client has invested time and money into design, and the contractor isn t involved, and then is
expected to complete all the work, it is likely for there to be disputes but the client would be missing
out on the contractor s ideas on how to save on costs. So is partnering up early on and getting to know
the job, the client and its goals the right way to go?
When this is done it is called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers join the project team as early as possible and
participate in appropriate stages of
Design review and specialist design contributions, including added value proposals n issues such as
sustainability;
Risk management and value engineering to reduce costs;
Price finalisation through second tier tenders or supplemental works package business cases;
Construction phase programming, to establish deadlines for the key deliverables of all parties; (Mosey,
2011).
What is wrong with single stage tendering?
Single stage tendering prices are based on incomplete information. That the client has to understand
and take into consideration when looking into the risk of the project. This creates a false sense of
security and a situation where both parties are looking to pick holes in the design work. Robert Smith
calls it legalised gambling as the attractive apparent cost is balanced with the sureness with transfer of
risk (Smith, 1995) page 44, cited in (Mosey, 2011).
The single stage approach also excludes the contractor, its subcontractors and suppliers from
everything pre construction phase, meaning that they cannot contribute towards ways of saving costs.
So there is little that the client can do to make these changes as they didn t have this initial
communication (Mosey,

Early Life Of The Minotaus
Imagine having the body of a man, but the head and tail of a bull. Now imagine your mom is a human
and your dad is a giant bull. This is what the Minotaur had to deal with his entire life. The Minotaur
was the most unfortunate character in Greek mythology considering his appearance, early life, and
adulthood. The Minotaur had a terrible body appearance. He had the head and tail of a bull, but the
body of a man. He was very large and considered a monster and an unnatural being because of how he
looked (Karas). Many people also probably ran away from the Minotaur even only after getting a
glimpse of him, not even getting to know him more. This could ve been a contributing factor as to
why he started eating people later in life. The Minotaur also had the worst early life of any character in
mythology. For one, his dad was a great white bull, and his mom, Pasiphae, was a normal human
(Garcia). Many people wonder how his parents were two different creatures. Minos, the husband of
Pasiphae, once had two brothers, and they all wanted to become King of Crete after their father passed
away. He bragged that he had the favor of the gods and could ask for anything. He prayed to Poseidon,
and he listened to Minos. Poseidon sent him a majestic white bull and told him to sacrifice it. Having
received the bull, Minos demonstrated his power to his brothers and became king, but he did not
sacrifice the white bull. Poseidon became angry, and cursed Pasiphae to fall in love with the bull.

Interracial Marriage Argumentative Essay
In the past if an interracial couple walked into a restaurant, the place would be filled with a cold stare.
The people of this restaurant would not care that this couple might be deeply in love, all they would
see in this moment was color. This allows one to question whether or not race and religion matter
when considering a potential spouse. Although this is debatable, race and religion should not matter
because of the wide acceptance of interracial marriage in today s society and the ability people have to
change their religion. All throughout the United States it has become a more common occurrence to
see an interracial married couple, which supports the idea that race and religion no longer matters in a
marriage. This increase of acceptance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The NORC data and my [Maria Root] own interviews indicate that people of all races sometimes fear
contamination, though for different reasons. Whites may fear loss of privileged status for their
children or grandchildren, while colored people may fear loss of cultural identity (Root 2006) .
Opposers feel that from this contamination, discrimination and prejudice or even a loss of culture will
occur if a child is born from parents that are from different ethnic background and there will only be
negatives brought upon this child. However, being from two different cultures can be beneficial.
Evidence to support this idea is found from the quote, Then they [ an intermarriage couple] discovered
the Jewish Catholic Couples Dialogue Group a support network for interfaith couples that was
connected to the Chicago Interfaith Family School, which taught both Catholicism and Judaism. The
people involved were welcoming, and had a message nearly unthinkable a generation ago: It was
possible, even advantageous, to raise a family that was actively and faithfully two religions (Hanes,
2014). From having parents of different religions the child will be more accepting of other religions
and will learn more than the average child. The child will not only be past down those two religions,
but also those two cultures. They have the opportunity to learn different languages that can be
beneficial in the future and also learn how to interact with people of different

Comparison of 2009 Hamlet Movie Recreation and the Hamlet Novel

main storyline across with more humor, and for the most part pretty decent acting. The overall layout

  • 2. The Economic Impact of the Olympic Games Abstract Since de Second World War , there has been a substantial increase in the range of events worldwide, varying from single day fetes and fairs to major sporting and cultural festivals. Special events are seen to have the ability to produce a wide range of significant economic and social benefits for communities and regions. In seeking to understand the field of special events, I took as a case study the Olympic Games mega event. KEYWORDS: special events, Olympic games, mega events, economic impact, investments INTRODUCTION The fundamental aim of this research is to measure the economic impact of the Olympics globally, regional and local. During the 1990s, there has been a growing number of people advocating a move ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As well as providing opportunities to increase direct expenditure at a destination, they can also contribute substantially to a destination s range of tourist attractions, facilitate media coverage for the destination, promote awareness of the destination for future visitation and lead to the construction of new facilities and infrastructure. The prominence given to special events by governments and tourism marketing organisations has resulted in some destinations seeking to specialise in the creation and hosting of special events. There is also a trend towards the construction of mega venues catering for conventions, trade shows, art and sporting events. The proliferation of events, and event producing agencies, has resulted in the need for the performance of events to be evaluated more stringently. Event managers and planners are now being called upon more often to prepare comprehensive post event evaluations with detailed accounts of the impacts of the event. As many special events require financial assistance from governments and businesses in order to be staged, post event evaluations are required by such agencies that need to assess the value of their investments. Evaluation is also required by event organisers who need to justify their activities to a diverse set of stakeholders, which includes sponsors, funding agencies, economic and tourism development agencies, special interest groups, and the ... • 3. Diamond Foods Accounting Scandal Diamond Foods Accounting Scandal BACKGROUND: Founded in 1912 as a walnut grower cooperative, Diamond Food s primary business involved buying walnuts from local California growers, processing the product, and reselling it. The San Francisco based company converted from a cooperative to a public corporation in July of 2005, issuing its initial shares for $17. By 2010, Diamond Foods (DMND) had expanded and acquired a number of snack food companies including Kettle Brand® Chips and Pop Secret® popcorn and was negotiating the acquisition of the Pringles brand from the Procter amp; Gamble Company (Diamond Foods, 2014). The addition of the Pringles brand would make Diamond the second largest global snack foods company behind PepsiCo, Inc., ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The details of how these costs were pulled apart and separated will be further explained in the following section. From the beginning Diamond had put a focus on the commodity walnut market. The company had forged strong relationships with the growers of the nuts and held pride in continuing the positive relationship throughout the future of the company. So as the growers began to hand down larger costs, Diamond needed to find a way to ensure that the growers got the full amount they were seeking in order to keep ties strong and avoid the growers leaving Diamond for one of its competitors, while also continue to meet the earnings per share (EPS) expectations. According to the case filed by the SEC in 2014, In February 2010, Diamond CFO Neil instructed members of the Finance Team to adjust the walnut costs to hit an EPS target for the second quarter. Members of the Finance Team provided Neil with a walnut cost estimate that would result in reported EPS that would be higher than the consensus analyst of estimated $0.47 per share for the quarter (SEC, 2014). However, the growers were not satisfied with this method of determining prices and threatened to leave Diamond if full costs were not received. Neil determined a way to close the gap through continuity or momentum payments. This technique allowed Diamond to pay the full amount that the growers were giving, but separated the costs out. Diamond only the portion on the financial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Hector Berlioz, My Favorite Composer Hector Berlioz, my favorite composer, (born December 11, 1803ㅡdied March 8, 1869) is deemed one of the greatest who, ...[contributed] to the modern orchestra with his Treatise on Information. His mental state and life shaped a composer who had such a raw, creative sound that is reflected prominently in his works, such as Symphonie fantastique and La Damnation de Faust. During the age of where he was to attend school, France was at war and as a result he had to be taught by his father who first introduced the young boy to music, which I think was the moment he sparked an interest in music. By the age of twelve he was composing for large chamber groups where he was taught to play the flute and guitar. As every father has dreams for their kids, he sent Berlioz off to Paris to study medicine where he obtained his first degree in science. With the love of music in his heart, he forced his acceptance to where he would be a pupil of Jean François Lesueur, professor at Paris Conservatoire. Having Manic Depressive illness, or bipolar disorder, is probably the reason he was so creative in his works which is exemplified in Symphonie fantastique. In 1826, he was enrolled into Paris Conservatoire, and a year after ... [he was] inspired to write Symphonie fantastique, a piece that broke new ground in orchestral expression. • 5. Analysis Of Bruce Bairinsfather s One Of Those Balkan... Bruce Bairinsfather s One of Those Balkan Muddles cartoon depicts a dejected soldier, profoundly confused about his nationality and identity. The man does not seem to possess a clear ethnicity or home country, thus neither does he possess a true citizenship. He is not specifically tied to any one people, geographical area, or culture. The Empire was a confusing, heterogeneous mixture of several ethnicities forced into a single citizenship and state. This caricature reflects a comedized reality for many people living within the borders of the Austro Hungarian Empire during and prior to World War One. As a real life example, the imperial census of the Austro Hungarian Empire in 1910 caused problems when it asked subjects to state their identity. The official criterion was language spoken, yet controversy raged when others argued for history, geography, anthropology and ethnography as the key criteria. Divisively, Emperor Franz Joseph, at the head of a dynasty which was supposed to be supra national, put himself down firmly as German on the census form . Bairinsfather s cartoon soldier is the personification of Empire s lack of clear collective identity, and thus no true citizenship. This issue will eventually lead to the dissolution of the Empire into several constituent states. The epoch that the cartoon was drawn in was defined by the emergence of a central force in geopolitics: The nation state. The force of nationalism, neither benevolent nor malevolent, surfaced as ... • 6. My Beloved Shelbie By Jane Austen To My Beloved Shelbie, At first, I wanted to write you a love letter describing how I feel about you, and what you mean to me, but I believe it is better if in addition to describing my feelings that I clear up all our miscommunications as best I can. Please understand that we see some things differently, an example being when you felt that I expected something out of you that was likely my fault for not doing my best to communicate my feelings but I never want you to feel like I demand something from you or that you owe me something, because you don t, and I would be the first to tell you to not tolerate that from anyone. It is something that I have viewed as an absolutely despicable and immature act and I would never consciously do that to you. I may just have gotten anxious about telling you how I feel because I could not bare to keep it from you for my own sake, I could not bare to hide that I love you. To quote Jane Austen In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you. And that s just it, it was something I had to do and I did it in an absolutely cringeworthy manner for that I m sorry, I m also sorry for any trouble or stress I may have caused you as I often caught myself after the fact realizing that in an attempt to get you to like me ,in a purely platonic manner, I may have just said something that was ridiculous and made me look like an idiot. • 7. The Swing Portrays by Jean-Honoré Fragonard Jean Honoré Fragonard created The Swing in 1766 with oil paints on a 2 8.6 by 2 2 canvas. It is located in London, England in the Wallace Collection. During the time this work was created, France was an aristocracy and The Swing portrays a glimpse of the luxurious life of the ruling class. King Louis XV ruled during a time when France was the most prosperous and powerful country in all of Europe. Through the influence of Madame de Pompadour, the arts prospered during this time. In the 18th century during King Louis reign the arts seemed to consume the thoughts of not only the artists themselves but also the King and other wealthy and influential members of society. This in turn resulted in neglect of the undertakings of the state, which had its consequences. In 1789, the bloody French Revolution took place and soon after, the fall of the monarchy. The Swing is undoubtedly the most famous of all Fragonard s compositions. It epitomizes the Rococo style of the 18th century with tranquil colors and gentle light, exaggerated diagonals, decorations, and nature. . The libertine Baron de St. Julien commissioned this piece. He ordered that Fragonard paint the bishop pushing his Madame on a swing. Fragonard painted for the baron de Saint Julien his first great masterpiece and from then on he knew that for the rest of his life he would paint for people of wealth. He painted for many individuals including the king because his talent was something that everyone desired. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Print Media Banning Cigarettes America has a drug problem and the majority of the public is aware of this; however, more than 480,000 premature deaths in the United States each year can be attributed to cigarette smoking (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). Additionally, 16 million Americans currently suffer from a tobacco related illness (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). Despite tobacco being the top one preventable cause of death in the United States, 42.1 million Americans continue to consume the drug daily (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). Although many restrictions have been placed on tobacco marketing, the tobacco industry continues to use its economic power and powerful persuasion tactics to interfere with tobacco control. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite these restrictions, there was actually an increase in the percentage of smokers after the ban (Teel, Teel, Bearden, 1979). Eventually, the tobacco industry began focusing on print media as a viable alternative to advertise cigarettes. However, during the early 20th century, the tobacco industry was invincible in air broadcast media. For generations, millions of individuals were exposed to ads featuring false claims about tobacco that attributed smoking to unrealistic glamour and popularity. Major themes in cigarrete ads during the early 1900s included satisfaction, the reduction of anxiety, and desirable associations. Through the use of imagery, tobacco companies conveyed the message that smoking was cool. By featuring celebrities, doctors, the military, cartoon characters, macho cowboys, and beautiful women, these ads were able to successfully target all population subgroups (Warner, 1985). Today, there exists scientific evidence that smoking tobacco is associated with cancer (Wang et al., 2015). Although the negative health effects of tobacco were not initially known of at the time, some people still feared that smoking would contribute to adverse health effects. To deflect the fear that smoking was dangerous, smoking ads began portraying scientists, doctors, nurses, and dentists endorsing tobacco (Warner, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Guise Of Feminism In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown Guise of Feminism Some authors may not even realize how equality can easily be thrown off and as a result have a negative effect on books and readers who notice it. We as readers of, tend to not completely grasp the presence of the anti feminist society. Feminism, or equality of the sexes, can be seen in Nathaniel Hawthorne s text as he portrays women as innocent, powerless, and non influential indivuals. Not only does feminism play a role in the painted society of Young Goodman Brown, but also in countless societies today. The exact meanings of the characters actions, are not completely understood unless the main focus is kept on this specific lense, feminism. It can help to make the logical assumption that this is in fact an anti feminist text by understanding the different scenes and how they are associated with feminism. It is recognizable that most women are lead by what men choose based upon Faith being viewed as an object, the anti feminist idea dealing with only men killing off family members and elder men using power over innocent women, and the other women characters representing significant figures in religious society but characterizing them as unimportant and even evil in the short story. As previously mentioned, women were almost forced to follow the religion, choices, and possessed incapabilities unlike men. To start off, Faith, has no choice whatsoever to what religion she is to follow. It is clearly implied by the statement, And Faith, as the wife was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Eskandari Political Science 101 SBCC 11/19/2014 11:10 12:30 Hemp for the True American Victory One of the first things about marijuana history that the American public still doesn t understand is that cannabis, was once very legal to grow in the United States. In fact, up until 1883 it was one of the largest agricultural crops in the world, including America.(The Union) But it wasn t grown for the psychoactive plant cannabis sativa. Cannabis hemp, which carries a fraction of the amount of THC, (the compound in marijuana that attributes to the high feeling) was and is used all over the world, producing the overall majority of Earth s fiber, fabric, paper, and medicines.(Herer,20) Hemp has a deep American History as well, from the gardens of George Washington and Benjamin Franklin to the 8,327 American hemp plantations counted in the 1850 census.(Herer,15) Yet the Federal government now recognizes cannabis as a Schedule I drug with no medical value, and 23 States have legalized cannabis for medicinal use. (The Union) Even though some western states such as Oregon and Colorado are making legal changes to marijuana policy at the state level, the most beneficial marijuana law we could pass is and always has been the Nationwide legalization of industrial Cannabis Hemp. Hemp was legal tender in most of the Americas from 1631 to the early 1800s, you could buy anything with hemp, even pay taxes. (Herer, 1) The first law passed on Marijuana in the ... • 11. Two Triangles In Virginia Woolf s To The Lighthouse The triangle is the strongest geometric shape. It cannot physically collapse, and stresses are equally distributed over all three legs. But the triangle, like many things that have roots in the number three, requires a dichotomy of balance and instability. To illustrate this dichotomy, take two triangles, one that sits upright with its single point above its base, and the other that is inverted, with the wide base above the single point, on which the shape balances and teeters. In Virginia Woolf s To the Lighthouse (1927), the solitary points of these two triangles are personified in Mrs. Ramsay (in the upright, stable triangle) and Lily Briscoe (in the inverted triangle). The novel itself takes on a triad form, separated into three sections: The Window, Time Passes, and The Lighthouse. Mrs. Ramsay rules in the first section, and Lily Briscoe in the last, with the middle section a mere twenty pages that covers ten years of time, including the death of Mrs. Ramsay acting as a transient moment of flux in which the careful balance established during the dinner party scene in The Window fades and leaves Lily Briscoe the sole triangle. It is in The Lighthouse that Lily Briscoe finally finishes her painting and has her vision (Woolf, 209). Upon reading the story there is an initial feeling of excitement and hope which was quickly tarnished with the awareness of human prejudices. • 15. Mackinnon Thinking Sex The third wave of feminism coincided with the end of the second wave. It occurred from the 1990s and is still present in contemporary society. This wave focuses on a post modern understanding of gender boundaries and sexual identity. Most notably, the emergence of anti pornographic movements during the third wave created a divide between radical and sex positive views on sexuality. In MacKinnon s article Feminism, Marxism, Method, and the State: An Agenda for Theory, she draws on the parallel between sexuality and marxism. As suggested by Rubin, feminist critiques of gender hierarchy must be incorporated into a radical theory of sex, and the critique of sexual oppression should enrich feminism (Rubin 180). The war was the upshot of decades worth of political, social, and economic conflict between the agricultural South, which produced mainly cash crops such as cotton, tobacco, and sugarcane, and the industrial North. The Black Codes aimed to stifle former slaves freedom by hindering their economic options through debt peonage, sharecropping, tenant farming, vagrancy laws, and curfews; in a phrase, slavery by another name. Congress decided to punish the South for their continuous resistance to Reconstruction by scrapping Johnson s failing plan, and establishing Congressional Reconstruction. This creates a false sense of security and a situation where both parties are looking to pick holes in the design work. Robert Smith calls it legalised gambling as the attractive apparent cost is balanced with the sureness with transfer of risk (Smith, 1995) page 44, cited in (Mosey, 2011). The single stage approach also excludes the contractor, its subcontractors and suppliers from everything pre construction phase, meaning that they cannot contribute towards ways of saving costs. So there is little that the client can do to make these changes as they didn t have this initial communication (Mosey, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Early Life Of The Minotaus Imagine having the body of a man, but the head and tail of a bull. Now imagine your mom is a human and your dad is a giant bull. This is what the Minotaur had to deal with his entire life. The Minotaur was the most unfortunate character in Greek mythology considering his appearance, early life, and adulthood. The Minotaur had a terrible body appearance. He had the head and tail of a bull, but the body of a man. He was very large and considered a monster and an unnatural being because of how he looked (Karas). Many people also probably ran away from the Minotaur even only after getting a glimpse of him, not even getting to know him more. This could ve been a contributing factor as to why he started eating people later in life. The Minotaur also had the worst early life of any character in mythology. For one, his dad was a great white bull, and his mom, Pasiphae, was a normal human (Garcia). Many people wonder how his parents were two different creatures. Minos, the husband of Pasiphae, once had two brothers, and they all wanted to become King of Crete after their father passed away. He bragged that he had the favor of the gods and could ask for anything. He prayed to Poseidon, and he listened to Minos. Poseidon sent him a majestic white bull and told him to sacrifice it. Having received the bull, Minos demonstrated his power to his brothers and became king, but he did not sacrifice the white bull. Poseidon became angry, and cursed Pasiphae to fall in love with the bull. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Interracial Marriage Argumentative Essay In the past if an interracial couple walked into a restaurant, the place would be filled with a cold stare. The people of this restaurant would not care that this couple might be deeply in love, all they would see in this moment was color. This allows one to question whether or not race and religion matter when considering a potential spouse. Although this is debatable, race and religion should not matter because of the wide acceptance of interracial marriage in today s society and the ability people have to change their religion. All throughout the United States it has become a more common occurrence to see an interracial married couple, which supports the idea that race and religion no longer matters in a marriage. This increase of acceptance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The NORC data and my [Maria Root] own interviews indicate that people of all races sometimes fear contamination, though for different reasons. Whites may fear loss of privileged status for their children or grandchildren, while colored people may fear loss of cultural identity (Root 2006) . Opposers feel that from this contamination, discrimination and prejudice or even a loss of culture will occur if a child is born from parents that are from different ethnic background and there will only be negatives brought upon this child. However, being from two different cultures can be beneficial. Evidence to support this idea is found from the quote, Then they [ an intermarriage couple] discovered the Jewish Catholic Couples Dialogue Group a support network for interfaith couples that was connected to the Chicago Interfaith Family School, which taught both Catholicism and Judaism. The people involved were welcoming, and had a message nearly unthinkable a generation ago: It was possible, even advantageous, to raise a family that was actively and faithfully two religions (Hanes, 2014). From having parents of different religions the child will be more accepting of other religions and will learn more than the average child. The child will not only be past down those two religions, but also those two cultures. They have the opportunity to learn different languages that can be beneficial in the future and also learn how to interact with people of different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although a few scene and characters are cut out, it gets the main storyline across with more humor, and for the most part pretty decent acting. The overall layout of the movie leaves the watcher with much more feelings towards the characters, than the feelings one gets from reading the book version. Hamlet is a tragic drama that leaves the viewer with so many thoughts. It starts with the young grieving prince, Hamlet, whom is distressed from the news of his father s death. On the other hand, Ophelia, played by Mariah Gale, was way too dramatic and over played than necessary. Her role in the movie should have been much less dramatized and should have been toned down a little bit. As for Horatio, played by Peter de Jersey, his acting was just as expected he seemed very sincere with his loyalty towards his friend and his acting was not too dramatic or under acted. One of the last major actors, Laertes, played by Edward Bennett, was very nice, he over played some parts in the movie but generally his acting corresponded to what should have been felt in the situations of the ...
