Segmentation and Classification of Skin Lesions Based on Texture FeaturesIJERA Editor
Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer and represents 50% all new cancers detected each year. The deadliest form of skin cancer is melanoma and its incidence has been rising at a rate of 3% per year. Due to the costs for dermatologists to monitor every patient, there is a need for an computerized system to evaluate a patient‘s risk of melanoma using images of their skin lesions captured using a standard digital camera. In Proposed method, a novel texture-based skin lesion segmentation algorithm is used and to classify the stages of skin cancer using probabilistic neural network. Probabilistic neural network will give better performance in this system to detect a lot of stages in skin lesion. To extract the characteristics from various skin lesions and its united features gives better classification with new approached probabilistic neural network. There are five different skin lesions commonly grouped as Actinic Keratosis (AK), Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC), Melanocytic Nevus / Mole (ML), Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC), Seborrhoeic Keratosis (SK). The system will be used to classify the queried images automatically to decide the stages of abnormality. The lesion diagnosis system involves two stages of process such as training and classification. Feature selection is used in the classified framework that chooses the most relevant feature subsets at each node of the hierarchy. An automatic classifier will be used for classification based on learning with some training samples of each stage. The accuracy of the proposed neural scheme is higher in discriminating cancer and pre-malignant lesions from benign skin lesions, and it attains an total classification accuracy is high of skin lesions.

Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is an ailment of the eye caused by diabetes. People suffering from diabetes can procure the disease. DR is caused when the high blood sugar level damages the blood vessels of the eye. Also due to high blood sugar level abnormal blood vessels can grow in the retina. This can make the patient lose its vision. Unfortunately, the symptoms of DR cannot be detected easily. The disease can grow increasingly if left untreated. Hence it becomes all the more important to detect DR. In this paper we have made use of Image processing Technique like canny edge detection to extract the features necessary to detect DR and find the severity of the disease. The features extracted from the image can be used to detect DR by various other methods like SVM, Logistic Regression, etc.
Review on automated follicle identification for polycystic ovarian syndromejournalBEEI
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), is a condition of the ovary consisting numerous follicles. Accurate size and number of follicles detected are crucial for treatment. Hence the diagnosis of this condition is by measuring and calculating the size and number of follicles existed in the ovary. For diagnosis, ultrasound imaging has become an effective tool as it is non-invasive, inexpensive and portable. However, the presence of speckle noise in ultrasound imaging has caused an obstruction for manual diagnosis which are high time consumption and often produce errors. Thus, image segmentation for ultrasound imaging is critical to identify follicles for PCOS diagnosis and proper health treatment. This paper presents different methods proposed and applied in automated follicle identification for PCOS diagnosis by previous researchers. In this paper, the methods and performance evaluation are identified and compared. Finally, this paper also provided suggestions in developing methods for future research.

Abstract Headlights of vehicles pose a great danger during night driving. The drivers of most vehicles use high, bright beam while driving at night. This causes a discomfort to the person travelling from the opposite direction. He experiences a sudden glare for a short period of time. This is caused due to the high intense headlight beam from the other vehicle coming towards him from the opposite direction. We are expected to dim the headlight to avoid this glare. This glare causes a temporary blindness to a person resulting in road accidents during the night. To avoid such incidents, we have fabricated a prototype of automatic headlight dimmer. This automatically switches the high beam into low beam thus reducing the glare effect by sensing the approaching vehicle. It also eliminates the requirement of manual switching by the driver which is not done at all times. The construction, working and the advantages of this prototype model is discussed in detail in this paper. Keywords: Headlight, automatic, dimmer, control, high beam, low beam, Kelvin (K).

An Efficient Integrated Approach for the Detection of Exudates and Diabetic M...acijjournal
Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is a major cause of blindness. Exudates are one of the primary signs of diabetic retinopathy which is a main cause of blindness that could be prevented with an early screening process In this approach, the process and knowledge of digital image processing to diagnose exudates
from images of retina is applied. An automated method to detect and localize the presence of exudates and Maculopathy from low-contrast digital images of Retinopathy patient’s with non-dilated pupils is proposed. First, the image is segmented using colour K-means Clustering algorithm. The segmented image along with Optic Disc (OD) is chosen. To Classify these segmented region, features based on colour and texture are extracted. The selected feature vector are then classified into exudates and nonexudates using a Support Vector Machine (SVM) Classifier. Also the detection of Diabetic Maculopathy,
which is the severe stage of Diabetic Retinopathy is performed using Morphological Operation. Using a clinical reference standard, images with exudates were detected with 96% success rate. This method appears promising as it can detect the very small areas of exudates.
A Novel Advanced Approach Using Morphological Image Processing Technique for ...CSCJournals
Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a common complication of diabetes mellitus and can lead to irreversible blindness. To date, DR is the leading cause of blindness and visual impairment among working adults globally. However, this blindness can be prevented if DR is detected early. Diabetes mellitus slowly affects the retina by damaging retinal blood vessels and leading to microaneurysms. The retinal images give detailed information about the health status of the visual system. Analysis of retinal image is important for an understanding of the stages of Diabetic retinopathy. Microaneurysms observed that appear in retina images, usually, the initial visible sign of DR, if detected early and properly treated can prevent DR complications, including blindness. In this research work, an advanced image modal enhancement comprises of a Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE), through morphological image, processing technique with final extraction algorithm is proposed. CLAHE is responsible for the detection, and removal of the retinal optical disk. While the microaneurysm initial indicators are detected by using morphological image processing techniques. The extensive evaluation of the proposed advanced model conducted for microaneurysm detection depicts all stages of DR with an increase in the number of data set related to noise in the image. The microaneurysms noise is associated with stage of retina diseases as well as its early possible diagnosis. Evaluation is also conducted against the proposed model to measure its performance in terms of accuracy, sensitivity as well as specificity in real-time. The results show the test image attained 99.7% accuracy for a real-time database that is better compared with anty colony-based method. A sensitivity of 81% with a specificity of 90% was achieved for the detection of microaneurysms for the e-optha database. The detection of several microaneurysms correlates with stages of DR that prove an analysis of detecting its different stages. As well as it reaches our goal of early detection of DR with high performance in accuracy.
Automatic detection of microaneurysms and hemorrhages in color eye fundus imagesijcsit
This paper presents an approach for automatic detection of microaneurysms and hemorrhages in fundus
images. These lesions are considered the earliest signs of diabetic retinopathy. The diabetic retinopathy is
a disease caused by diabetes and is considered as the major cause of blindness in working age population.
The proposed method is based on mathematical morphology and consists in removing components of
retinal anatomy to reach the lesions. This method consists of five stages: a) pre-processing; b)
enhancement of low intensity structures; c) detection of blood vessels; d) elimination of blood vessels; e)
elimination of the fovea. The accuracy of the method was tested on a public database of fundus images,
where it achieved satisfactory results, comparable to other methods from the literature, reporting 87.69%
and 92.44% of mean sensitivity and specificity, respectively.

Description:
Christo Ananth et al. discussed about diabetic retinopathy from retinal pictures utilizing cooperation and information on state of the art sign dealing with and picture preparing. The Pre-Processing stage remedies the lopsided lighting in fundus pictures and furthermore kills the fight in the picture. Although the Disease Classifier step was used to identify arising wounds and other data, the Division stage divides the image into two distinct classes. The methodology for ensuring red spots, exhausting and recognizing evidence of vein-lobby hybrid focuses was also developed in this work, using the hidden data, shape, size, object length to expansiveness distribution as contained in the general fundus picture in the problem area. Besides the Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) analysis, two graphical user interfaces (GUIs) were produced throughout this project. The primary GUI is for the mix of sore information data and was utilized by the ophthalmologist in venturing pictures for enlightening assortment, while the subsequent GUI is for redone diagnosing and showing the examination to accomplish a significantly seriously satisfying UI.
The legal cause of blindness for the workingage
population in western countries is Diabetic Retinopathy - a
complication of diabetes mellitus - is a severe and wide- spread
eye disease. Digital color fundus images are becoming
increasingly important for the diagnosis of Diabetic Retinopathy.
In order to facilitate and improve diagnosis in different ways, this
fact opens the possibility of applying image processing techniques
.Microaneurysms is the earliest sign of DR, therefore an
algorithm able to automatically detect the microaneurysms in
fundus image captured. Since microaneurysms is a necessary
preprocessing step for a correct diagnosis. Some methods that
address this problem can be found in the literature but they have
some drawbacks like accuracy or speed. The aim of this thesis is
to develop and test a new method for detecting the
microaneurysms in retina images. To do so preprocessing, gray
level 2D feature based vessel extraction is done using neural
network by using extra neurons which is evaluated on DRIVE
database which is superior than rulebased methods. To identify
microaneurysms in an image morphological opening and image
enhancement is performed. The complete algorithm is developed
by using a MATLAB implementation and the diagnosis in an
image can be estimated with the better accuracy and in shorter
time than previous techniques
Diabetic retinopathy is a severe vision complication of
diabetes and it is one of the main causes of blindness all over the
world. Early detection of diabetic retinopathy is essential to cope
with this adverse effect. Microaneurysm is one of the early signs
of diabetic retinopathy. So the presence of microaneurysm
detection is a prerequisite for early diagnosis of diabetic
retinopathy. In this paper, we have proposed a simple
morphological method for the detection of microaneurysm that
uses top-hat transform. Our method can detect the faint
microaneurysm at low resolution due to contrast enhancement
and noise reduction as preprocessing. We also compare the
results of different retinopathy detection techniques.
An Approach for the Detection of Vascular Abnormalities in Diabetic Retinopathyijdmtaiir
Diabetic Retinopathy is a common complication of
diabetes that is caused by changes in the blood vessels of the
retina. The blood vessels in the retina get altered. Exudates are
secreted, micro-aneurysms and hemorrhages occur in the
retina. The appearance of these features represents the degree
of severity of the disease. In this paper the proposed approach
detects the presence of abnormalities in the retina using image
processing techniques by applying morphological processing
techniques to the fundus images to extract features such as
blood vessels, micro aneurysms and exudates. These features
are used for the detection of severity of Diabetic Retinopathy.
It can quickly process a large number of fundus images
obtained from mass screening to help reduce the cost, increase
productivity and efficiency for ophthalmologists.
Fundus Image Classification Using Two Dimensional Linear Discriminant Analysi...INFOGAIN PUBLICATION
It is constructed in this study a classification system of diabetic retinopathy fundus image. The system consists of two phases: training and testing. Each stage consists of preprocessing, segmentation, feature extraction and classification. The tested image comes from the MESSIDOR dataset which has a total of 100 images. The number of classes to be classified consists of four classes with each class consists of 25 images. The classes are normal, mild, moderate and severe of Diabetic retinopathy. In this study, the level of preprocessing uses grayscales green channel, Wavelet Haar, Gaussian filter and Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization. The level of segmentation uses masking as a process of doing the subtracting operation of between the original image and the masking image. The purpose of the masking is to split between the object and the background. The feature extraction uses Two Dimensional Linear Discriminant Analysis (2DLDA). The classification uses Support Vector Machine (SVM). The test results of some scenarios show that the highest percentage of accuration of the system is up to 90%.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
Water billing management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Our project entitled “Water Billing Management System” aims is to generate Water bill with all the charges and penalty. Manual system that is employed is extremely laborious and quite inadequate. It only makes the process more difficult and hard.
The aim of our project is to develop a system that is meant to partially computerize the work performed in the Water Board like generating monthly Water bill, record of consuming unit of water, store record of the customer and previous unpaid record.
We used HTML/PHP as front end and MYSQL as back end for developing our project. HTML is primarily a visual design environment. We can create a android application by designing the form and that make up the user interface. Adding android application code to the form and the objects such as buttons and text boxes on them and adding any required support code in additional modular.
