This document summarizes various methods for categorizing breast cancer in histopathological images. It discusses machine learning and image processing techniques that have been used to build computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems to help pathologists diagnose breast cancer more objectively and consistently. The document reviews different classification methods that have been proposed, including those using fuzzy logic, level set methods, convolutional neural networks, texture features and ensemble methods. It concludes that accurately classifying histopathological images remains challenging due to limited publicly available datasets and variability in tissue appearance, but that machine learning and advanced image analysis offer promising approaches to improve cancer detection and diagnosis.

AN EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT FEATURE SELECTION METHOD FOR LUNG CANCER DETECTIONijcsit
Medical image data is growing rapidly. Lung cancer considers to be the most common cause of death among people throughout the world. Early lung cancer detection can increase the chance of people survival. The 5 year survival rate for lung cancer patient increases from 14 to 49% if the disease is detected in time. Computed Tomography can be more efficient than X ray for detecting lung cancer in time. But the problem seemed to merge due to time constraint in detecting the presence of lung cancer.MAT LAB have been applied for the study of these techniques. Feature selection is a method to reduce the number of features in medical applications where the image has hundreds or thousands of features. In order to extract the accurate features of an image, an image need to be processed for its effective retreival.Image feature selection is an essential task for recognizing the image and it can be done for overcoming classification problems. However, the quality of the image recognition tasks can be improved with the help
of better classification accuracy for enhancing the retrieval performance.
A New Approach to the Detection of Mammogram Boundary IJECEIAES
Mammography is a method used for the detection of breast cancer. computer-aided diagnostic (CAD) systems help the radiologist in the detection and interpretation of mass in breast mammography. One of the important information of a mass is its contour and its form because it provides valuable information about the abnormality of a mass. The accuracy in the recognition of the shape of a mass is related to the accuracy of the detected mass contours. In this work we propose a new approach for detecting the boundaries of lesion in mammography images based on region growing algorithm without using the threshold, the proposed method requires an initial rectangle surrounding the lesion selected manually by the radiologist (Region Of Interest), where the region growing algorithm applies on lines segments that attach each pixel of this rectangle with the seed point, such as the ends (seeds) of each line segment grow in a direction towards one another. The proposed approach is evaluated on a set of data with 20 masses of the MIAS base whose contours are annotated manually by expert radiologists. The performance of the method is evaluated in terms of specificity, sensitivity, accuracy and overlap. All the findings and details of approach are presented in detail.

We analysed two types of cancers IDC dan ILC. 10 parameters were observed in 1-10 pixels distance in 145 IDC dan 7 ILC. We found that the Mean of Hm(yd,d) at 1-5 pixeis the only significant parameters that distingguish IDC and ILC. This parameter at 1-5 pixels should be applied in KNN method. This finding need to be tested in diffrerent areas before it will be applied in cancer diagnostic.

Review on automated follicle identification for polycystic ovarian syndromejournalBEEI
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), is a condition of the ovary consisting numerous follicles. Accurate size and number of follicles detected are crucial for treatment. Hence the diagnosis of this condition is by measuring and calculating the size and number of follicles existed in the ovary. For diagnosis, ultrasound imaging has become an effective tool as it is non-invasive, inexpensive and portable. However, the presence of speckle noise in ultrasound imaging has caused an obstruction for manual diagnosis which are high time consumption and often produce errors. Thus, image segmentation for ultrasound imaging is critical to identify follicles for PCOS diagnosis and proper health treatment. This paper presents different methods proposed and applied in automated follicle identification for PCOS diagnosis by previous researchers. In this paper, the methods and performance evaluation are identified and compared. Finally, this paper also provided suggestions in developing methods for future research.

This paper aims to review the previously developed Computer-aided detection (CAD) systems for mammogram screening because increasing death rate in women due to breast cancer is a global medical issue and it can be controlled only by early detection with regular screening. Till now mammography is the widely used breast imaging modality. CAD systems have been adopted by the radiologists to increase the accuracy of the breast cancer diagnosis by avoiding human errors and experience related issues. This study reveals that in spite of the higher accuracy obtained by the earlier proposed CAD systems for breast cancer diagnosis, they are not fully automated. Moreover, the false-positive mammogram screening cases are high in number and over-diagnosis of breast cancer exposes a patient towards harmful overtreatment for which a huge amount of money is being wasted. In addition, it is also reported that the mammogram screening result with and without CAD systems does not have noticeable difference, whereas the undetected cancer cases by CAD system are increasing. Thus, future research is required to improve the performance of CAD system for mammogram screening and make it completely automated.
PSO-SVM hybrid system for melanoma detection from histo-pathological imagesIJECEIAES
This paper introduces an automated system for skin cancer (melanoma) detection from Histo-pathological images sampled from microscopic slides of skin biopsy. The proposed system is a hybrid system based on Particle Swarm Optimization and Support Vector Machine (PSO-SVM). The features used are extracted from the grayscale image histogram, the co-occurrence matrix and the energy of the wavelet coefficients resulting from the wavelet packet decomposition. The PSO-SVM system selects the best feature set and the best values for the SVM parameters (C and γ) that optimize the performance of the SVM classifier. The system performance is tested on a real dataset obtained from the Southern Pathology Laboratory in Wollongong NSW, Australia. Evaluation results show a classification accuracy of 87.13%, a sensitivity of 94.1% and a specificity of 80.22%.The sensitivity and specificity results are comparable to those obtained by dermatologists.

Multi Class Cervical Cancer Classification by using ERSTCM, EMSD & CFE method...IOSRjournaljce
Cervical cancer is the highest rate of incidence after breast cancer, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, thyroid cancer among all malignant that occurs to females ; also it is the most prevalent cancer among female genital cancers. Manual cervical cancer diagnosis methods are costly and sometimes result inaccurate diagnosis caused by human error but machine assisted classification system can reduce financial costs and increase screening accuracy. In this research article, we have developed multi class cervical classification system by using Pap Smear Images according to the WHO descriptive Classification of Cervical Histology. Then, this system classifies the cell of the Pap Smear image into anyone of five types of the classes of normal cell, mild dysplasia, moderate dysplasia, severe dysplasia and carcinoma in situ (CIS) by using individual and Combining individual feature extraction method with the classification technique. In this paper three Feature Extraction methods were used: From that three, two were individual feature extraction method namely Enriched Rough Set Texton Co-Occurrence Matrix (ERSTCM) and Enriched Micro Structure Descriptor (EMSD) and the remained one was combining individual feature extraction method namely concatenated feature extraction method (CFE). The CFE method represents all the individual feature extraction methods of ERSTCM & EMSD features are combining together to one feature to assess their joint performance. Then these three feature extraction methods are tested over Fuzzy Logic based Hybrid Kernel Support Vector Machine (FL-HKSVM) Classifier. This Examination was conducted over a set of single cervical cell based pap smear images. The dataset contains five classes of images, with a total of 952 images. The distribution of number of images per class is not uniform. Then the performance was evaluated in both the individual and combining individual feature extraction method with the classification techniques by using the statistical parameters of sensitivity, specificity & accuracy. Hence the resultant values of the statistical parameters described in individual feature extraction method with the classification technique, proposed EMSD+FLHKSVM Classifier had given the better results than the other ERSTCM+FLHKSVM Classifier and combining individual feature extraction method with the classification technique described, proposed CFE+FLHKSVM Classifier had given the better results than other EMSD+FLHKSVM & ERSTCM+FLHKSVM classifiers.

Thyroid Cancer Detection for Myanmar Review and Recommendationijtsrd
Thyroid cancer is common cancer nowadays in most of the people irrespective of country, gender and regions, and so as in Myanmar. This paper brings significant work on thyroid cancer detection using image processing and segmentation methods so that appropriate work can be carried out for the benefit of people of Myanmar. The critical study of important papers gives challenges in existing work on cancer detection using several methods but there is not robust method for thyroid cancer detection. So, we attempt to suggest a robust set of methods for addressing this problem for Myanmar since there is very limited work on detection of cancer in the country. A new swarm intelligence information technique for improving information bala...IJECEIAES
Methods of image processing can recognize the images of melanoma lesions border in addition to the disease compared to a skilled dermatologist. New swarm intelligence technique depends on meta-heuristic that is industrialized to resolve composite real problems which are problematic to explain by the available deterministic approaches. For an accurate detection of all segmentation and classification of skin lesions, some dealings should be measured which contain, contrast broadening, irregularity quantity, choice of most optimal features, and so into the world. The price essential for the action of progressive disease cases is identical high and the survival percentage is low. Many electronic dermoscopy classifications are advanced depend on the grouping of form, surface and dye features to facilitate premature analysis of malignance. To overcome this problematic, an effective prototypical for accurate boundary detection and arrangement is obtainable. The projected classical recovers the optimization segment of accuracy in its pre-processing stage, applying contrast improvement of lesion area compared to the contextual. In conclusion, optimized features are future fed into of artifical bee colony (ABC) segmentation. Wide-ranging researches have been supported out on four databases named as, ISBI (2016, 2017, 2018) and PH2. Also, the selection technique outclasses and successfully indifferent the dismissed features. The paper shows a different process for lesions optimal segmentation that could be functional to a variation of images with changed possessions and insufficiencies is planned with multistep pre-processing stage.

Feature Selection Mammogram based on Breast Cancer Mining IJECEIAES
The very dense breast of mammogram image makes the Radiologists often have difficulties in interpreting the mammography objectively and accurately. One of the key success factors of computer-aided diagnosis (CADx) system is the use of the right features. Therefore, this research emphasizes on the feature selection process by performing the data mining on the results of mammogram image feature extraction. There are two algorithms used to perform the mining, the decision tree and the rule induction. Furthermore, the selected features produced by the algorithms are tested using classification algorithms: k-nearest neighbors, decision tree, and naive bayesian with the scheme of 10-fold cross validation using stratified sampling way. There are five descriptors that are the best features and have contributed in determining the classification of benign and malignant lesions as follows: slice, integrated density, area fraction, model gray value, and center of mass. The best classification results based on the five features are generated by the decision tree algorithm with accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, FPR, and TPR of 93.18%; 87.5%; 3.89%; 6.33% and 92.11% respectively.
A MODIFIED BINARY PSO BASED FEATURE SELECTION FOR AUTOMATIC LESION DETECTION ...ijcsit
This paper presents an effective feature selection method that can be applied to build a computer aided
diagnosis system for breast cancer in order to discriminate between healthy, benign and malignant
parenchyma. Determining the optimal feature set from a large set of original features is an important preprocessing
step which removes irrelevant and redundant features and thus improves computational
efficiency, classification accuracy and also simplifies the classifier structure. A modified binary particle
swarm optimized feature selection method (MBPSO)has been proposed where k-Nearest Neighbour
algorithm with leave-one-out cross validation serves as the fitness function. Digital mammograms obtained
from Regional Cancer Centre, Thiruvananthapuram and the mammograms from web accessible mini-MIAS
database has been used as the dataset for this experiment. Region of interests from the mammograms are
automatically detected and segmented. A total of 117 shape, texture and histogram features are extracted
from the ROIs. Significant features are selected using the proposed feature selection method.Classification
is performed using feed forward artificial neural networks with back propagation learning. Receiver
operating characteristics (ROC) and confusion matrix are used to evaluate the performance. Experimental
results show that the modified binary PSO feature selection method not only obtains better classification
accuracy but also simplifies the classification process as compared to full set of features. The performance
of the modified BPSO is found to be at par with other widely used feature selection techniques.

Breast Tumor Detection Using Efficient Machine Learning and Deep Learning Tec...mlaij
Breast cancer tissues grow when cells in the breast expand and divide uncontrollably, resulting in a lump of tissue commonly called and named tumor. Breast cancer is the second most prevalent cancer among women, following skin cancer. While it is more commonly diagnosed in women aged 50 and above, it can affect individuals of any age. Although it is rare, men can also develop breast cancer, accounting for less than 1% of all cases, with approximately 2,600 cases reported annually in the United States. Early detection of breast tumors is crucial in reducing the risk of developing breast cancer. A publicly available dataset containing features of breast tumors was utilized to identify breast tumors using machine learning and deep learning techniques. Various prediction models were constructed, including logistic regression (LR), decision tree (DT), random forest (RF), support vector machine (SVM), Gradient Boosting (GB), Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGB), Light GBM, and a recurrent neural network (RNN) model. These models were trained to classify and predict breast tumor cases based on the provided features.

Automated breast cancer detection system from breast mammogram using deep neu...nooriasukmaningtyas
All over the world breast cancer is a major disease which mostly affects the women and it may also cause death if it is not diagnosed in its early stage. But nowadays, several screening methods like magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound imaging, thermography and mammography are available to detect the breast cancer. In this article mammography images are used to detect the breast cancer. In mammography image the cancerous lumps/microcalcifications are seen to be tiny with low contrast therefore it is difficult for the doctors/radiologist to detect it. Hence, to help the doctors/radiologist a novel system based on deep neural network is introduced in this article that detects the cancerous lumps/microcalcifications automatically from the mammogram images. The system acquires the mammographic images from the mammographic image analysis society (MIAS) data set. After pre-processing these images by 2D median image filter, cancerous features are extracted from the images by the hybridization of convolutional neural network with rat swarm optimization algorithm. Finally, the breast cancer patients are classified by integrating random forest with arithmetic optimization algorithm. This system identifies the breast cancer patients accurately and its performance is relatively high compared to other approaches.
Modified fuzzy rough set technique with stacked autoencoder model for magneti...IJECEIAES
Breast cancer is the common cancer in women, where early detection reduces the mortality rate. The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images are efficient in analyzing breast cancer, but it is hard to identify the abnormalities. The manual breast cancer detection in MRI images is inefficient; therefore, a deep learning-based system is implemented in this manuscript. Initially, the visual quality improvement is done using region growing and adaptive histogram equalization (AHE), and then, the breast lesion is segmented by Otsu thresholding with morphological transform. Next, the features are extracted from the segmented lesion, and a modified fuzzy rough set technique is proposed to reduce the dimensions of the extracted features that decreases the system complexity and computational time. The active features are fed to the stacked autoencoder for classifying the benign and malignant classes. The results demonstrated that the proposed model attained 99% and 99.22% of classification accuracy on the benchmark datasets, which are higher related to the comparative classifiers: decision tree, naïve Bayes, random forest and k-nearest neighbor (KNN). The obtained results state that the proposed model superiorly screens and detects the breast lesions that assists clinicians in effective therapeutic intervention and timely treatment.
