Constructivism As A Victim Of The Bolshevik Revolution
Constructivism was the last and most influential modern art movement to flourish in Russia in the
20th century. It evolved just as the Bolsheviks came to power in the October Revolution of 1917, and
initially it acted as a lightning rod for the hopes and ideas of many of the most advanced Russian
artists who supported the revolution s goals. It borrowed ideas from Cubism, Suprematism and
Futurism, but at its heart was an entirely new approach to making objects, one which sought to abolish
the traditional artistic concern with composition, and replace it with construction. Constructivism
called for a careful technical analysis of modern materials, and it was hoped that this investigation
would eventually yield ideas that could be put to use in mass production, serving the ends of a
modern, Communist society. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some continued to insist on the value of abstract, analytical work, and the value of art per se; these
artists had a major impact on spreading Constructivism throughout Europe. Others, meanwhile,
pushed on to a new but short lived and disappointing phase known as Productivism, in which artists
worked in industry. Russian Constructivism was in decline by the mid 1920s, partly a victim of the
Bolshevik regime s increasing hostility to avant garde art. But it would continue to be an inspiration
for artists in the West, sustaining a movement called International Constructivism which flourished in
Germany in the 1920s, and whose legacy endured into the

How Did Kubla Khan Influence Trade
At a city called Shangdu, built by the Grand Khan Kublai. . . He caused a palace to be erected, of

The Necessity of Evil and the Applications of Good in Response
By Trystan Heck
Throughout the history of the human race, many people have risen up above the rest to acquire a place
in history; either from actions that bring cheers to the mouths of men or whispers of dread and fear
instead. Those who deal with the side allying itself with the underworld of society strike, steal, and
injure people when it suits them; only stopping when the forces of good rally to fight against them.
Infamy is a cause for concern among the innocent and fearful, but without such people in the world,
humanity would not have any examples of what is considered wrong, and how to fix and prevent such
illustrations evil from happening ever again. Evil has brought ... Show more content on

Mechanism of Melatonin Stimulation of Growth Hormone...
Mechanism of melatonin stimulation of growth hormone release via somatostatin inhibition
Joseph Angelo Israel Peguit
University of the Philippines in the Visayas Cebu College
Natural Sciences and Mathematics Division
Abstract
Secretion of growth hormone is affected by two primary hormones: Growth hormone releasing
hormone and somatostatin. The former is the primary stimulant to promote growth hormone secretion
while the latter is the primary inhibitor that prevents growth hormone secretion. Many studies have
already shown that melatonin stimulates secretion of growth hormone via somatostatin inhibition but
its mechanisms remain unknown. I hypothesized that melatonin inhibits somatostatin at transcription
level through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This means that any regulation of melatonin on other hormones happen mostly in the SCN in the
hypothalamus. The receptors of melatonin belong to the Gi/Go type of the superfamily of G Protein
Coupled Receptors (GPCR)[8]. The G proteins are coupled to a number of effector systems
influencing the intracellular signalling. They are designated as Gi/Go type because of their
characteristic being inhibited by the presence of pertussis toxin[8].
Transduction Pathway
The effector systems coupled to the melatonin receptors include the Adenylate cyclase, phospholipase
C, L type calcium channels, and ATP sensitive K+ ion channels[8,6,33].
The inhibition of calcium influx via the L type calcium channels may be mediated by direct
inactivation by the G protein[6] and/or through induced hyperpolarization by activation of ATP
sensitive K+ channel[6]. Activation of the G proteins results to activation of ATP sensitive K+
channels. The active transport of K+ ion intracellularly results to hyperpolarization of the membrane.
The hyperpolarization inactivates the voltage sensitive L type Ca2+ channels which only opens during
membrane depolarization[8,6].
Melatonin receptor activation inhibits activity of Phospholipase C (PLC)[8]. PLC functions to catalyze
hydrolysis of phosphatidyl inositol (4,5) bisphosphate to Inositol triphosphate (IP3) and Diacyglycerol
(DAG). Inositol

Analysis of Our Secret by Susan Griffin Essay
The Meaning Of The Title Our Secret , A Chapter From A Chorus Of Stones by Susan Griffin
Truth is possibly one of the most powerful forces in humanity. Truth has the power to set people free,
change lives and end them. Because of this, the truth is usually feared and often concealed. In Susan
Griffin s Our Secret , the concealing of the truth become a major theme in the advancement of the
plot, and also carries the meaning to the work s title. The title of Our Secret refers to the secrets that
the individual characters in the story keep from others reference to the fact that humanity is keeping
secrets from itself. As the story opens, already the reader is confronted with the topic of concealing the
truth. The narrator speaks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A German boy in the time of Concentration Camps in WWII, Heinz was a homosexual who knew to
conceal his secret. Heinz knew that he would be killed if anyone found out about his lifestyle, and told
no one about his secret besides his mother. However, the Nazis eventually discovered a picture of
Heinz with his lover, and sent him to a Concentration Camp to be killed. These individuals being
forced to conceal their lifestyles is, in a way, forcing them to conceal who they truly are. Keeping
secrets from others, in a way, means that they have not fully come to terms with who they are. Griffin
also uses examples from her own family to expand upon the title s meaning. Griffin claims her family
was constantly pretending to be happy, perfect or aristocratic. In family photos, everyone smiled
together and attempted to make it seem like nothing was wrong. The author claims that looking back
on these pictures, this was clearly not true, as she can see the pain her father his hiding in one picture,
or signs of trauma in another. The real conflict underneath was never truly revealed. The family also
made attempts to appear aristocratic and high class when they really were not. Griffin claims that the
family was aware that this was not true, but still attempted to keep up the ruse. Griffin writes: But
when certain visitors came, we were as if driven by an inward, secret panic that who we really were
might be discovered. Inadvertently, by some careless gesture, we might

Situational Influences on Purchasing Behavior
Abstract
There was an investigation in an attempt to understand what situational influences affect purchasing
behaviors of consumers. Fifty subjects were asked to complete a survey in determining what attributes
affect the decision to purchase a product. The effect of purchase was based on three different times of
day: morning, afternoon, and evening. The effect of purchase was also based on whether subjects
preferred caffeinated or non caffeinated soda depending on the time of day. The subjects were asked to
rate their preferences on a 5 point rating scale, one being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We will also determine taste preference for that particular soda during a particular time of day.
To summarize the main objectives of the present study, we will investigate an answer to the question
of what impact situational influences on decision making have towards the purchase of a product. We
will assess three different time periods; morning, afternoon, and evening based on the decision to
drink a caffeinated or a non caffeinated soda. In order to achieve results, we decided to develop a
survey in which subjects were asked to complete a questionnaire based on their preference for the type
of soda one drinks during a particular time of day to see if there are variations in taste attributes
depending on the time of day the purchasing is taking place. We expect individuals to purchase more
caffeinated products during the morning and the afternoon. , Whereas we expect them to purchase
more non caffeinated products.
Method
Participants
Forty nine subjects volunteered to participate in a survey designed to measure people s preferences for
caffeine, diet, cola, non cola flavored, or clear cola in three different usage situations; the morning, the
afternoon, and at night. The subjects were asked to participate by the three members of the research
group. The subjects were not discriminated based on

Examples Of Realism In A Doll s House
Henrik Ibsen is regarded as the inventor of realism . Realism is a movement in theatre that first began
at the end of the nineteenth century. In a realism play social and domestic problems are explored as
they would actually happen in a real life situation. We are presented with a portrayal of humanity and
life as it occurs in real life. It is evidently clear from reading Ibsen s A Doll s House that this play was
written in the form of realism. Ibsen does not shadow any aspect of life in Norway in the nineteenth
century in this play. It is clear that during this time power was very important. It was a patriarchal
society which oppressed both males and females as they struggled to confine to the strict regulations
of the society of that time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

[Act Three]. Once everybody thought that everything in the Helmer household was perfectly fine and
happy that was all that mattered. Some might argue that this is just Torvald being superficial and that
he never really cared for his wife, however as much as I agree with that statement I think the society in
which he lived in also played a major part in his opinion on the matter. Everything in society was
based on your appearance; you needed to present your life in the best light possible if you were to
retain your status. As Torvald, possessed a high status job as the bank manager it is clear that his
reputation was running through his mind when having the conversation with Nora. How painful and
humiliating it would be for Torvald, with his manly independence, to know that he owed me anything!
[Act One] It is clear that it is the man s duty to care for his wife and not the other way around as this
would be emasculating for the

A Career in Pediatric Oncology Oncology is the study and treatment of cancer. Cancer is a disease that
develops when normal cells in certain parts of the body start to grow abnormally and continuously. It
has been a plague on human life for a while; in fact, the earliest evidence of the disease was found in
ancient Egyptian manuscripts dating back to 1600 BC. It is currently the most diagnosed disease in the
world. Pediatric Oncology is a subspecialty of the practice that focuses on the treatment of cancer in
children. In earlier days, because information on the disease was limited, treatment for children was
almost inexistent. However, in the 1940s a doctor named Sidney Farber made a milestone in the
treatment of these children by administering ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A Very Short Introduction By Jonathan Culler
In Literary Criticism A Very Short Introduction, author Jonathan Culler writes on feminist theory: on
the one hand, feminist theorists champion the identity of women, demand rights for women, and
promote women s writings as representations of the experience of women. On the other hand,
feminists undertake a theoretical critique of the heterosexual matrix that organizes identities and
cultures in terms of the opposition between man and woman (Culler 140).
These two approaches, championing and critiquing can be found in both the works of Jane Austen and
E.M. Forster. In their novels, we welcome a central female character who flourishes into their own
understanding of the word, and provides their own literary voice to an overwhelmingly ... Show more

Rather, Lucy s character is merely that, her own, a full embodiment of herself, and ultimately this is
the major revelation she transcends to through her journey in Forster s novel. Whereas Elizabeth seeks
to prove a point of equality, Lucy seeks to embody that point. This does not discount Elizabeth s
progressiveness, but rather is central to how these two characters embody a continuum of feminism s
development. Both Elizabeth and Lucy exhibit strong determination, but contexts shape them
differently. In the world of victorian England, Elizabeth Bennett rejects the man she is destined to love
because he outwardly does not met the decorum of society and slights her with his mannerism. In a
similar way, Lucy holds to her own private prejudices in her rejection of George Emerson. But George
Emerson is a far cry from Mr. Darcy; George being someone who has grown up equalizing women
whereas Darcy has grown up believing they have a place. Therefore, for Lucy, expectations are
different because the shift in gender equality is already well underway. Throughout the novel bread
crumbs are dropped for Lucy about her own potential, whereas for the females of Austen s Longbourn,
marriage is their only opportunity, their lone certain way to escape. Even Elizabeth Bennett cannot
escape this reality.
In A Room with A View the female character s autonomy is placed front in center. Furthermore,
femininity itself is burgeoning out of even

Texas Snowbells Research Paper
The Texas snowbell, also known as Styrax texana is a flower located in the Edwards Plateau of Texas.
They are found in Asia, North and South America, and the Mediterranean (Fish and Wildlife Service).
Three recognized species exist in the Edwards Plateau: texana, platanifolius, and stellatus (Fish and
Wildlife Service). S. platanifolius is found in the east and north of Texas, whereas S. stellatus is found
in the south. S. texana however, grows in the west. Through examination of its morphology, it can be
determined that the three species are closely related to one another. Their forms and structures are
similar, but they evolved and live under different conditions and habitat. The climate in the Edwards
Plateau is typically humid and semi arid. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The shade provides little protection for these plants against the hot and humid climate. Small insects
such as moths, caterpillars, and snails causes damages to the plants by biting and leaving holes in the
leaves. Stream bank erosion, deer, goat, and cattle browsing, flooding, and diseases causes Texas
snowbells to die off. Because of their small population size, Texas snowbells cannot reproduce (Fish
and Wildlife Service). Another challenge to their survival is the vegetation alteration caused by the
increasing number of livestock, fire suppression, and cultivation (Texas Parks and Wildlife). Livestock
are eating up the seeds produced by this flower. Grasses used to be tall, but became short because
insects and animals are eating them. Since grasses are short, Texas snowbell is more noticeable to
predators. Higher sedimentation loss and lower run offs is a result of the change in grass size,
destroying the cliffs where Texas snowbells grow (Fish and Wildlife Service). Their habitat is being
destroyed, reducing their numbers drastically. Temperatures in the Edwards Plateau are hot to the
plant, causing them to die because of heat (Fish and Wildlife

Why Do We Need To Legalize Animal Testing
Within the past several decades, as medical and scientific research have progressively advanced
throughout the world, the global market has expanded to encompass a wide range of medications,
chemicals, cosmetics, and other commercial products. In an endeavor to account for the constantly
increasing demand for these products, numerous research facilities and laboratories have arisen across
the United States. However, although a number of these medications and cosmetics have proven an
asset to society, these products are created at the expense of the lives of millions of innocent creatures.
Before becoming available for consumption on the market, the effectiveness of these products is
verified through a series of unfathomably cruel animal trials and experiments. While the government
has sought to maintain a measure of control over animal experimentation through the implementation
of laws, these efforts have been largely in vain. Despite the enactment of regulations designed to

To begin with, animal experimentation subjects innocent creatures to immense physical and
psychological agony through the employment of abusive, inhumane procedures. Currently, an
approximate 26 million animals in the United States alone undergo trials and experiments devised to
ascertain the efficiency and overall safety of products developed for human use ( Animal Testing ). In
a futile attempt to prevent the immoral treatment of animals in scientific laboratories, the government
enacted the Animal Welfare Act several years previously, granting marginal protection to a handful of
sentient species. However, the Animal Welfare Act excludes nearly 99 percent of animal species
commonly used in scientific studies, thereby enabling scientists to experiment on creatures such as
birds, mice, fish, and other cold blooded species without interference from the law ( Animal Testing

Battle Of San Jacinto Battle Analysis
The Battle of San Jacinto is an interesting event for evaluation through battle analysis. Although
fought between the independent country of Texas and Mexico, it has been adopted into the psyche of
U.S. History as a major battle that has a significant contribution to the general history of the U.S.
Much like the Alamo, the Battle of San Jacinto relied heavily on imported forces from varying places
throughout the U.S. to supplement Texas troops, making the interwoven nature of the Texas battle in
U.S. history logical. The Battle of San Jacinto has been selected for a battle analysis due to its
prominence in U.S. history, but also because of a heightened level of bias that often appears in the re

The Conflict Between Israel and Palestine Essay examples
The conflict between Israel and Palestine has tight roots in history, stretching thousands of years back
to when the Israelites first forged their way into the land, then known as Canaan. It came to its peak in
1948, the year Israel declared its independence (Beinin). Ever since then, the volatile area of Palestine
has become a battle ground for war, terrorism, and politics. The two nations have attempted to make
agreements, but so far, none of them have succeeded in creating long lasting peace. Since it is unlikely
that neither Israel nor Palestine would completely give up their land to the other nation, a compromise
needs to be forged between the two. The conflict between Israel and Palestine cannot stop unless

These restrictions have not completely closed off trade into Gaza, however. With heavy border control
on the surface, traders have turned to smuggling goods through subterranean tunnels that burrow into
Egypt. It is estimated that around 15,000 jobs are found in the tunnels, smuggling anything from
weapons and cement, to food and cigarettes. These jobs are very much high risk, however, with cave
ins increasingly common. (Myre) If Israel dropped their blockade and opened up more trading
opportunities for the people of Gaza, there would be a significant decrease in accidents in these
smuggling tunnels, and their economy would be better off. Above all else, it would express to the
Palestinians of Gaza that Israel was prepared to trust them. The second step in ending this violent
conflict in the Middle East is for Israel to lift their occupation and settlement on the Gaza Strip and the
West Bank. If Palestinians and Israelis had settled for the terms outlined in the original United Nations
partition plan in 1947, history might have taken a very different path. This plan would have split the
land into two different states, an Arab state, and an Israeli state. Jerusalem and Bethlehem, for their
religious significance to many cultures, would have become international regions. (Beinin) Due to the
likelihood of further Jewish immigration, this

The Importance Of Resilience In My Life
For an individual to be a success, it requires more than intellect. To flourish in your career and in life,
your character must move you toward your aspirations. Throughout life, several experiences have
formed me into a person of resilience, empathy, and composure. Such qualities have allowed me to
reach my goals and serve my community. In addition to my intelligence, these qualities render me an
exceptional student and employee.
The ability to be resilient is at the core of who I am, and the challenges that have created this
resilience have taught me empathy. Because of my weight, I was the subject of bullying in school and
found relief in sports and exercise. Eventually, I lost fifty pounds and ascended the social ladder. With
new friends and popularity, I attended a party and tried alcohol, at the adolescent age of fourteen. At
the party, the star football player asked me to come talk to him, alone. Afterward, he led me into a
room and shut the door. At that point, I began to feel suspicious, but overcome by alcohol, fell
unconscious, then eventually wakened to him on top of me. Being so immature, I had no idea how to
cope with the event and concealed it from everyone I could. The students that knew about it and even
a few parents harassed me. Walking through the hallways of the school, I tolerated endless derogatory
remarks. Ashamed and humiliated, I began skipping class and isolating myself from people. My
family did not know about the incident for two years, until

Global Spirits Brands Localizing Advertising Essay
Why are Diageo, Pernod Ricard, and other marketers of global spirits brands localizing advertising
campaigns in emerging markets?
By localizing specific target markets, marketers are able to make more of an impact on several groups
of specific markets than they would have if they had simply stayed with a general advertisement for a
global brand. We have seen this in many major companies before. For example, Louis Vuitton would
record one commercial and then change the voice over or text to be in whichever language or dialect
they wanted it to be.
In this case, marketers are doing the opposite by allowing many different options in order to attract a
specific segment of consumers. I think market segmentation is critical for the success of Scotch from
country to country for the reason that people drink Scotch from country to country for different
reasons such as success. Since Scotch is widely associated with success and achievement, as well as
accelerating thirst for Scotch, understanding each culture is important.
The self satisfaction associated with achieving a goal may not be enough to persuade Chinese
consumers to purchase Scotch whisky. The Chinese market for Scotch Whiskey is highly segmented
because self satisfaction from achieving a goal is not enough; they need acknowledgement of
achievement from others. For advertising for the Chinese, the scotch would need to be represented in a
group in share of an occasion.
Not only this, but localizing their advertising

What Is The Lethal Weapon Rhetorical Techniques
Lethal Weapon is a film made by Richard Donner in 1987. It tells a story of two policemen who
become partners. Roger Murtaugh is a veteran, he has family and he is getting older. Martin Riggs is
suicidal officer who lives in a trailer with his dog. To solve the case they need to learn how to work
with one another.
Lethal Weapon is an action movie. As in almost every type of the movie viewers can follow narration
development but they become distracted by some action scenes (like blowing something up, chasing
the car etc.) and narration is suspended for a while. We can notice the same practice for example in
musicals. Action is interrupted there by singing and dancing. But what is also really characteristic for

Martin and Mr. Joshua are getting into the fist fight. This scene is absurd though it shows development
of heroes and a change that occurred in them. Murtaugh and Riggs could kill or catch villain but

a five minutes. After analysis we can notice many homoerotic elements. At the beginning they are
using only their fists but they become shirtless really quickly and at one point they use phallic
weapons to fight. Water is blowing up in the air and covering everyone and everything. That brings
sexual connotations as well. It is very important to take into consideration their moves and their acts.
After connecting all the elements viewers can notice that this scene is presented in such a way to be
similar to sexual foreplay and re figuration of a sexual act between men. But this scene threatens
patriarchal and heterosexual society. That is why threat of homosexual romance needs to be removed
by killing the villain even though he was defeated by

Darkness Byron Diction
In his poem Darkness Lord Byron gives an apocalyptic view of the world, as he pictured it. The poem
is partially influenced by the mass hysteria of the time brought about by an Italian astronomer. He
predicted that the sun would burn itself out on July 18th, destroying the world. The poem is written in
first person and is packed with sublime imagery. The tone of the poem gives hints to the author s
emotional state of mind at the time. Darkness seems to have been written as a satirical account of what
might have been the public s hysteria during that Summer of Darkness. Byron takes advantage of the
events of the time, and creates a hellish description of the end of humanity. Darkness is a poem with

Punctuation also plays a big role in this poem. The use of enjambment and punctuation reinforce the

verses lack punctuation at the end making the reading faster from one verse to another. It is also
important that the verses where the punctuation is used are those where the pass of time is slower, the
beginning and the end. Alliteration, on the other hand, is used to enhance the mood that Byron wishes

Causes Of Airplane Accidents
Whether people travel for business, vacation, or simply for pleasure, they must decide on what mode
of transportation to take. Sometimes, they decide that the best form of transportation is to take a plane,
and each time they enter it, they are placing their lives in the hands of a company, air traffic controller,
and most importantly, the flight crew. Although airplanes are the most convenient and quickest means
of transportation, accidents occur due to the failure of one of these three components. Statistically, the
odds of being in an airplane accident are 1 in 7,178 compared to the 1 in 98 involving cars showing
that airplanes are a safer type of transportation (5 Most Common Causes of Airplane Accidents). If for
some reason there is an accident, a spectrum of people are facing the repercussions due to it and
should consider these before deciding on taking a flight. Airplane accidents are a horrific tragedy that
affect a variety of individuals including the airline, the manufacturer of the airplane, and the families.
In the event of an accident, the airline is the earliest involved, and will be held accountable due to
various factors that contribute to the airlines negligence. One prevalent factor is security failure in
which a terrorist enters the plane before departure. In order to prepare for a terrorist attack, mock trials
have been conducted at the busiest airports by undercover investigators. They found that they were

Selflessness is defined as the act of giving without the expectation of anything in return. I believe to

making people is a tough job so I ve been told working three hundred sixty five days twenty four
hours seven days a week with no brakes in between must be hard. My mother who loved with her
whole being, tormented with a mental disability which caged her in the hospital for the most of my
adolescence, is a Christian woman who taught my sisters and I the values having a giving and
humility. My family and I have experienced homelessness more time than I care to admit so when my
mother saw a homeless women with her kids on the street and invited them into her home without
question, I saw how selfless services such as this can impact the even one family. Growing up in this
environment I couldn t help but to give back in the same way. My sisters and I decided that every
weekend, holiday or summer break we would show the world the love we thought it needed. So
instead of buying gifts for ourselves we cooked meals made, hygiene packages, mowed lawns,

Cause And Importance Of Communication Technology
Communications have been part of technology since late 1900 were when the internet became appeal

Carl Sagan s Belief Systems
Carl Sagan starts by wondering why we have various belief systems. There have been many examples
of belief systems and at any time you would find a set of popular, more or less similar, belief systems
(Sagan, pg. 379). The systems can change in a matter of years or last thousands of years, depending on
the support provided to the system from the people. Also, there are always a number of belief systems
to choose from. These systems are similar in that they have a comparable reason for their presence. He
came to the conclusion that belief systems fulfill a real human need that [is] not being met by our
society (Sagan, pg. 379). These include medical needs, spiritual needs, or a need to communicate and
connect with the rest of society. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both view the belief systems as offering a different way to satisfy the needs of the public, if the social
systems that are in place cannot satisfy those needs. They differ in that Hufford says that it is a
criticism of the social system, calling the system indirectly inadequate. Sagan may have held this view
as well, but did not discuss it within this article. The idea that belief fulfills a need is accurate. I agree
that their observation holds true to society. Taking an example of mainstream religions, many say that
they join and practice because they feel closer to a community of like minded individuals.
Carl Sagan s argues for skepticism to be more widely used in a person s daily life. He leads with an
example of buying a used car. He goes on to explain that many people will question the dealer about
the quality of the car or bring a mechanically inclined friend along. This opens the audience to the idea
that many people are already skeptical of certain situations. People have heard stories that used car
salesmen may sell malfunctioning cars and will take precautions when purchasing a car. Skepticism is
something that is necessary to our lives, because it can prevent us from making a mistake by not
asking questions. Sagan wants that skepticism to spread to other beliefs and ideas. As an example of
people or ideas people do not question, Sagan uses commercials. Sagan says that commercials are not
meant to be questioned about

The New Wembley Stadium
Description of the project
The New Wembley Stadium was envisioned as the one of the most ambitious projects in the world. It
was called the home of football and considered to be one of the largest and glorious stadiums in the
world. The 133m arch looks breathtaking when lit up at night shining magnificently across London.
Wembley is known as England s icon of football. Football Association (FA) was the client of the
project and its subsidiary was the Wembley National Stadium Ltd (WNSL). The main contractor
involved in the project was Multiplex Constructions with Mott MacDonald being the Lead Designers
who designed it as a state of the art stadium with a seating capacity of 90,000. The project had two
main project advisors; Tropus at the initial stages (1997 2001) and Capita Symonds (2001 2006). The
primary material supplier for steel and truss was Cleveland Bridge (Lewis, 2007).
Project successes
Now in the world the Wembley stadium is known for one of the best innovative stadium even having
lot of hindrances related to different segment of the project. The stadium has inbuilt retractable roof
which can be adjusted to allow sunlight to reach every inch of the pitch and cover the seats during a
bad weather. It not only host football games but also concert and Rugby game. Moreover, it consists
2618 toilets ,34Bars,688 snacks bar and 250 types of grass.
Project issues
Lot of issues cropped up during the construction of the Wembley Stadium.
Indecisiveness of the management before the project began caused a lot of delays. The construction
was delayed for two years due to political and financial issues. It was supposed to get completed by
May 2006 for hosting the FA Cup final but was later transferred to Cardiff as per what Multiplex had
advised them.
Multiplex also sued the stadium designer Mott McDonald for £253m statin that he denied access to
the design information which led to the increased steelwork costs.
Initially during the construction and execution some minor problem arises which later on become
major hurdle in the project. Initially the problem started with the conflict between multiplex and steel
contractor company Cleveland Bridge. Focus Areas and Key Learnings.

Aztec Advancement to Herbal Medicine
The Aztecs made great advances in many areas. One of their accomplishments was herbal medicine.
Aztec medicine was based on two areas which are spiritual healing and herbal healing. Many of the
illnesses that affected the Aztecs were caused to religious reasons: an angry god, bad birth signs, or
something to that effect. The first step of treating an illness was a prayer and/or sometimes animal
sacrifices. After that, herbal medicine would be used. Today, many herbal medicines can be found in
Central America. The Aztecs knew how herbal medicines would work. They concentrated on finding
out what herbal medicine could do. The Aztecs also concentrated on curing the symptoms of an illness
than finding the cause of the illness. They believed that if a god gave a person an illness, they cannot
anything to cure that patient. According to Aztec legends, Well, if the gods want this man to suffer,
they can make my herbs powerless. If the medicine works, it means that the gods wish for the patient
to be relieved. This statement was used to make herbal medicine useful. The Aztecs used leeches to
help patients to ease their pain. The Aztecs developed a writing system in which they used
pictographs. Pictographs were simple pictures that were used as a form of writing. With pictographs,
they wrote many codices. The codices were a book or manuscript (written documents). The codices
talked about ceremonies, the ritual calendar, and information about the gods and the universe. These

Active Shooter
Active School Shooter Introduction The intention of this paper is to look at and present some issues
and strategies that members of a school community think about when trying to create safer schools.
Particularly when addressing an active shooter in a school setting. A major issue to consider when
trying to keep all schools safe, is the simple fact that no two schools are the same. Understanding this
can lead us to the conclusion that it is impossible to have one global plan or program that can be 100%
effective in all schools. Violence prevention programs work best when they incorporate multiple
strategies and address the full range of possible acts of violence in schools. For any set of policies to

It would be a wise idea for school administrators to have a comprehensive security assessment of the
school s physical design, safety policies, and emergency procedures. Once again this must be
conducted with the cooperation of school staff, emergency personnel, students, and other school
community members. Every school has different needs and safety plans may vary. According to the
IACP (International Association of Chiefs of Police), there are twenty recommended actions that can
be used to prevent violence in a school setting. 1. Use school resource officers (SROs) who may be
provided by local law enforcement. SROs often provide law enforcement, law related counseling, and
law related education to students, faculty, and staff. Continuity of officers in individual schools should
be encouraged, so that students and SROs develop a rapport. 2. Consider seeking one or more
probation officers for use on campus to help supervise and counsel students. This would be especially
appropriate for high schools with a significant caseload of juveniles on probation. 3. Use trained
personnel paid or volunteer selected specifically to assist teachers and administrators in monitoring
student behavior and activities. Continuity of monitors within schools should be encouraged to
facilitate good rapport with students. Monitors should be trained on the different types of violence

Along with D.B. Cooper, 36 other passengers boarded the Boeing 727, that was headed from Portland

When receiving the parachutes he refused the instructions on how to use them. This concluded that he

choice, The military chute could better withstand the exit speed of the plane. It is believed that Cooper
jumped out of the plane above Tacoma, Washington. Prior to jumping, he told the flight attendant to
join the crew in the cockpit. Shortly after, a warning light indicated the rear door had been opened.
The crew assumed that he had jumped at this point, which was over Washington. According to former
Army Trooper Gregory Hall, D.B. Cooper made a diversion that was so successful that people have
been searching in the wrong area ever since that night. Instead of immediately jumping out, Cooper
would have waited and jumped out later when they already thought he was gone. This distraction
would ve been the perfect attempt to fool the FBI in its investigation. It seems to be no coincidence
that D.B. Cooper ended up on a Boeing 727. The tie left behind on the plane showed that he could ve

other servers. Can you record?: I am able to record, but sometimes the frames aren t the best. I will try
my best to make the frames great for the video to be smooth. I currently use the full version of
Bandicam. Past Experience: I have had a lot of past experience of staffing, both on the forums and in
game. Some servers that I was staff on had very high amounts of players. Others, well, not so much. I
still had fun staffing on it. At one point, I was staff on a server called YayMC. This was the biggest
step in my staffing career. I got accepted on that server in February, and was very excited. This was

Essay Starbucks Strategy and Environment
Starbucks Strategy and Environment Introduction With the development of economic globalization,
fast food becomes a more and more substantial industry in the business world, which adapts to the
pace of people s life. Each organization spares every effort to stand forward the competition due to the
fierce competition. In this article, we focus on the Starbucks , a prevailing coffee manufacturer in
recent years. In 1971, a coffee bean retailing store named Starbucks was opened by Jerry Baldwin,
Zev Siegl and Gordon Bowker in order to sell specialty whole bean coffee in Seattle. And the name
Starbucks was from mate Starbuck in the novel Moby Dick. In the decade, Starbucks had five stores
and a small roasting facility in Seattle till ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So far, Starbucks are devoting itself to letting the customers feel something different and something
new. According to the researches already done, since Starbucks was built up at the beginning of 1970s,
it has been recognized as the customers third home, other than their own houses and workplaces.
Those bright and clean tables and comfortable chairs, together with the aroma of coffee from brewing
the coffee beans, also the convenience that the customers can freely charge their laptops and music
players, give the Starbucks experience it used to have. However, with the increasing number of the
branches, quantities of automatic coffee machines are taking the place of the ones done by hand, also
the counters that supply drive through in order to meet the need of the customers who are driving,
began to sell food, drinks, even CD, which forced the Starbucks experience to disappear gradually.
The CEO (Chief Executive Officer), Howard Schultz pointed that the main reason from the decline of
Starbucks Experience was that the number of Starbucks shops increased sharply from only 1,000 to
13,000 within ten years. Other people considered their brand has been commercialized, and the
customers hadn t had enough enthusiasms to appreciate every moment of their coffee any longer. He
suggested that Starbucks should re find its origin. Nevertheless, his advice apparently was opposite to

Febuxostat Case Study
A review on febuxostat : chemistry and therapeutic profile
Abstract:
Febuxostat is a novel, orally administered, non purine analogue selective inhibitor of oxidized and
reduced forms of xanthine oxidase, approved in February 2009 by the Us FDA for the cure,
management and long term treatment of chronic hyperurecemia and gout even in patients with
intolerance/hypersenstivity to allopurinol .If given at a daily dose of 80 mg or 120mg it is reported
more effective than allupurinol . Febuxostat does not require any dosage adjustments in patients with
mild to moderate renal impairment . In the reported clinical trials, it is found to be well tolerated and
superior to conventional drugs for treatment of gout. The purpose of this review is ... Show more

Lead compound for development of high affinity inhibitors
b.Preliminary modification of the lead compound revealed that the introduction of an electron
withdrawing substituent and hydrogen bond acceptor such as NO2 or CF3 at the 3 position of the
phenyl ring or an electron donating substituent such as OR or COOH at the 4 position led to an
increase of the inhibitory activity. Attempts to replace the nitro group with other electron withdrawing
substituents at the 3 position resulted in identification of the cyano group as the best substituent
among other substituents examined. The final structure proposed was found to be febuxustat with high
inhibitory activity.
c.The` CN group of febuxostat is necessary for potent enzyme inhibitory activity. When the 3 cyano
moiety of febuxostat is replaced by hydrogen, the binding affinity was significantly decreased .
d.When the cyano group of the inhibitor was substituted with a nitro ligand, which is also capable of
accepting a hydrogen bond, the resulting derivative showed a binding affinity very similar to that of

The Combahee River Collective
Our politics initially sprang from the shared belief that Black women are inherently valuable, that our
liberation is a necessity not as an adjunct to somebody else s may because of our need as human
persons for autonomy . The opening of the second part of The Combahee River Collective Statement,
What We Believe, expresses one of the major will of the Third World Feminist studies: making
Women a topic of research in its own rights. It s in 1977 that the Combahee River Collective, a US
radical feminist lesbian group, wrote this very famous manifesto that became essential for the Black
Feminism Mouvement. They made as central the total recognition of the different forms of
oppressions, sexual, racial, social, that black women endure and the necessity to fight against them.
Therefore, the integration of notions of gender, sexuality, race, class in any feminist analysis that deals
with power and domination become unavoidable. They express clearly the logical result of their
struggle, the destruction of the political, social and economical system as they are the representative
basis of an unfair and racist society. To bring a fresh way of looking at the position of some women in
the American society turn to be a way to consider differently the organisation and the functioning of
the actors of a society on a national and also international level.
In 1982, some activists of the collective, Gloria Hull, Patricia Bell Scott and Barbara Smith, decided
to publish an important

How To Get Away With Murder Character Analysis
ABC s new breakout show How to Get Away With Murder is a new legal drama series that features a
fierce female lead played by Viola Davis. The show is an amazing and suspenseful show with a
fascinating plot all while keeping us on our toes with its powerful female lead. How to Get Away with
Murder revolves around a criminal law professor of a prestigious university in Pennsylvania, Annalise
Keating, and her select group of students as they get tangled in a murder plot of their own. The
characters in the show are all about defending other people for justice, while they have gone and
committed sins of their own. The show is a great representation of racial and sexual minorities with its
strong female character and a diverse cast of unique supporting ... Show more content on

Keating is a deeply flawed character who is simply riveting; you can t take your eyes off of the
powerful woman as she is on screen. She holds an appearance of a woman who gets what she wants,
but as the show progresses, viewers see that she can fall apart, especially in matters that involve her
relationship with her husband. He was barely able to get into law school, being accepted off the school
s wait list, but he later proves to be a natural born leader in law and murder. He is one of the few
characters who truly makes the show interesting with his funny and witty comebacks. Michaela Pratt,
a smart young woman who does everything in her power to impress Keating and serves as Connor s
competition. Her character makes us hate her and feel pity towards her as she crumbles and falls apart
within the show. As the show moves along we see that good can turn to bad. She has a change in traits
that make her boring character more interesting. Asher Millstone, another one of Annalise s law
students who has been getting through life through his father s riches. His character doesn t offer
much excitement to the show except a funny joke now and

Japan s Experience Of Defeat And Occupation At The End Of...
Japan s experience of defeat and occupation at the end of the Second World War has most commonly
been examined from the point of view of the conquerors. It has rarely been tackled as a Japanese
experience. John Dower attempts to understand the hopes, visions and dreams of the defeated
Japanese as they sought to remake their identity and values in the after the war. Dower examines an
array of responses from the Japanese perspective to find out how they are feeling after the war. Dower
places the Japanese against the background of an American Occupation which was at once high
minded and visionary, arrogant and imperialist. Dower tackles this theme through two narratives. The
first is a dense socio cultural history, focused on the first two ... Show more content on

Secondly as an observer, he maintains a deep sympathy for his subjects while still preserving an
appropriately sharp and critical moral sense as he navigates through their stories. Dower s cultural
history begins with the anguish of physically and materially shattered lives at war s end. The shock,
devastation, exhaustion and despair are listed to provide the reader a detailed narration of the events.
The depth of loss and confusion which the Japanese people experienced is vividly conveyed, notably
in Dower s accounts of the huge scale of social displacement and missing persons, and the long drawn
out period of food droughts. Against this background of economic and social misery, however, Dower
is also concerned to locate the effects of defeat on the Japanese people. Even in the pits of despair,
people were reshaping their future identity and discovering new aspirations. Dower tackles this at
three levels. First, he investigates the subcultures of defeat. The world of prostitution under the
Occupation, for example was simultaneously an area of sexual exploitation and a channel for the
growth of interracial affection and the undermining of old racial stereotypes. It was a symbol of
national shame and a conduit for new American values of luxury, and materialism that were eagerly
embraced. Likewise, the black markets were both explosions of entrepreneurial energy and a site for
violent criminal gangs. And a new urban demimonde

Black Canyon Essay
Ever since my dad was a young boy he has wanted to visit all the National Parks in the United States.
We ve already been to The Grand Canyon in Arizona, The Badlands in South Dakota, Biscayne in
Florida, Mesa Verde in Colorado, and many more! This time we were headed for Colorado where
National Park, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, is located. I was really dreading this trip. I d never
heard of this park before and neither had my friends. All the other parks we d been to have been really
interesting and enjoyable, but Black Canyon of the Gunnison most likely won t be. Mom gave me a
book right before we boarded the plane. It contained information about Black Canyon of the Gunnison
and its history. I hate to say it, but it was actually pretty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I smiled because I remembered reading about all the unique and facinating birds in the book my
mother got me yesterday. I was very intruigued by the canyon s rim and gorge. Sammy said that the
canyon s gorge showed no sign of human occupation, but we could still go down there for a tour. We
all agreed that would be a good idea. Sammy told us to stay close behind him, for the way down could
be a little tricky. As we walked with Sammy I stopped every once and awhile to bend down a study the
small little yellow flowers that lined the pathway. I remembered reading about thses flowers! They
were Mountain Parsley. They looked more beautiful in person than in my book. I pulled out my
camera to take a quick picture of them. After I was finished I looked up and Sammy and my family
were gone. At first I didn t panic. Earlier we had passed those tall blue flowers called Silvery Lupines.
Or was it those bright orange ones called Scarlet Globemallows? It was then I realised I was lost. I
was lost in the middle of Colorado. No one was in sight. There were flowers of many colors
everywhere, the sun beat down hard on me, and it was scorching hot. I sat down and thought there was
no hope.

Bioregionalism gives the large scale geographical boundaries to determine an area, such as the peaks
of a mountain. Bioregionalism is, the idea that societies should be organized on the basis of local
communities, which attempt to provide for their basic needs on the basis of resources available at the
local level (Evanoff, R., O Neil, E.). Evanoff and O Neil prove societies strive more when they are
divided by their natural barriers. Determining the bioregion of an area allows us to know our
watersheds, soil type(s), and mountain ranges. Bioregions are important because it allows us to know
the features of our area. Knowing our soil type allows farmers to know where their crops will strive or
not. Knowing the watersheds allows us to learn how to preserve our water resource and know where it
s coming from. The history of the area, or native culture helps us see how the region has evolved
throughout other human cultures in the

Effectiveness Of A Competitive Advantage
Increasingly, firms find themselves, either by design or circumstances, operating in business
environments fraught with unprecedented, unparalleled, unrelenting, and largely unpredictable
change. Retaining competitive advantage is a constant preoccupation for all companies. Millions of
words have been written purporting to identify the principles and practices most likely to enable firms
to gain competitive advantage and, thereby, enjoy superior profit margins. Despite all this study,
management remains a testing ground where theory, experience, judgment and, sometimes, luck play a
role. According to Glenn (2009), approximately 90 per cent of senior executives who took a survey by
The Economist s Magazine Intelligence Unit understand that their organizations have to be agile to
thrive in the marketplace. According to Merriam Webster s Collegiate Dictionary, to be agile is to have
a quick, resourceful and adaptable character (Agile, 2016). Agility has classically been defined as
simply the ability to change direction rapidly (Bloomfield, Ackland, Elliot, 1994; Clarke, 1959;
Mathews, 1973), but also the ability to change direction rapidly and accurately (Barrow McGee, 1971;
Johnson Nelson, 1969). In more recent publications, some authors have defined agility to include
whole body change of direction as well as rapid movement and direction change of limbs (Baechle,
1994; Draper Lancaster, 1985). Based on many researches done we can define organizational agility
as a

  • 2. Constructivism As A Victim Of The Bolshevik Revolution Constructivism was the last and most influential modern art movement to flourish in Russia in the 20th century. It evolved just as the Bolsheviks came to power in the October Revolution of 1917, and initially it acted as a lightning rod for the hopes and ideas of many of the most advanced Russian artists who supported the revolution s goals. It borrowed ideas from Cubism, Suprematism and Futurism, but at its heart was an entirely new approach to making objects, one which sought to abolish the traditional artistic concern with composition, and replace it with construction. Constructivism called for a careful technical analysis of modern materials, and it was hoped that this investigation would eventually yield ideas that could be put to use in mass production, serving the ends of a modern, Communist society. ... Some continued to insist on the value of abstract, analytical work, and the value of art per se; these artists had a major impact on spreading Constructivism throughout Europe. Others, meanwhile, pushed on to a new but short lived and disappointing phase known as Productivism, in which artists worked in industry. Russian Constructivism was in decline by the mid 1920s, partly a victim of the Bolshevik regime s increasing hostility to avant garde art. But it would continue to be an inspiration for artists in the West, sustaining a movement called International Constructivism which flourished in Germany in the 1920s, and whose legacy endured into the ... The Necessity of Evil and the Applications of Good in Response By Trystan Heck Throughout the history of the human race, many people have risen up above the rest to acquire a place in history; either from actions that bring cheers to the mouths of men or whispers of dread and fear instead. Those who deal with the side allying itself with the underworld of society strike, steal, and injure people when it suits them; only stopping when the forces of good rally to fight against them. Mechanism of melatonin stimulation of growth hormone release via somatostatin inhibition Joseph Angelo Israel Peguit University of the Philippines in the Visayas Cebu College Natural Sciences and Mathematics Division Abstract Secretion of growth hormone is affected by two primary hormones: Growth hormone releasing hormone and somatostatin. The former is the primary stimulant to promote growth hormone secretion while the latter is the primary inhibitor that prevents growth hormone secretion. Many studies have already shown that melatonin stimulates secretion of growth hormone via somatostatin inhibition but its mechanisms remain unknown. This means that any regulation of melatonin on other hormones happen mostly in the SCN in the hypothalamus. The receptors of melatonin belong to the Gi/Go type of the superfamily of G Protein Coupled Receptors (GPCR)[8]. The G proteins are coupled to a number of effector systems influencing the intracellular signalling. They are designated as Gi/Go type because of their characteristic being inhibited by the presence of pertussis toxin[8]. Transduction Pathway The effector systems coupled to the melatonin receptors include the Adenylate cyclase, phospholipase C, L type calcium channels, and ATP sensitive K+ ion channels[8,6,33]. The inhibition of calcium influx via the L type calcium channels may be mediated by direct inactivation by the G protein[6] and/or through induced hyperpolarization by activation of ATP sensitive K+ channel[6]. Activation of the G proteins results to activation of ATP sensitive K+ channels. The active transport of K+ ion intracellularly results to hyperpolarization of the membrane. The hyperpolarization inactivates the voltage sensitive L type Ca2+ channels which only opens during membrane depolarization[8,6]. Melatonin receptor activation inhibits activity of Phospholipase C (PLC)[8]. PLC functions to catalyze hydrolysis of phosphatidyl inositol (4,5) bisphosphate to Inositol triphosphate (IP3) and Diacyglycerol (DAG). Inositol ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Heinz knew that he would be killed if anyone found out about his lifestyle, and told no one about his secret besides his mother. These individuals being forced to conceal their lifestyles is, in a way, forcing them to conceal who they truly are. Keeping secrets from others, in a way, means that they have not fully come to terms with who they are. Griffin also uses examples from her own family to expand upon the title s meaning. Griffin claims her family was constantly pretending to be happy, perfect or aristocratic. In family photos, everyone smiled together and attempted to make it seem like nothing was wrong. The author claims that looking back on these pictures, this was clearly not true, as she can see the pain her father his hiding in one picture, or signs of trauma in another. The real conflict underneath was never truly revealed. The family also made attempts to appear aristocratic and high class when they really were not. Griffin claims that the family was aware that this was not true, but still attempted to keep up the ruse. Griffin writes: But when certain visitors came, we were as if driven by an inward, secret panic that who we really were might be discovered. Inadvertently, by some careless gesture, we might ... It is evidently clear from reading Ibsen s A Doll s House that this play was written in the form of realism. Ibsen does not shadow any aspect of life in Norway in the nineteenth century in this play. • 11. A Very Short Introduction By Jonathan Culler In Literary Criticism A Very Short Introduction, author Jonathan Culler writes on feminist theory: on the one hand, feminist theorists champion the identity of women, demand rights for women, and promote women s writings as representations of the experience of women. On the other hand, feminists undertake a theoretical critique of the heterosexual matrix that organizes identities and cultures in terms of the opposition between man and woman (Culler 140). These two approaches, championing and critiquing can be found in both the works of Jane Austen and E.M. Forster. In their novels, we welcome a central female character who flourishes into their own understanding of the word, and provides their own literary voice to an overwhelmingly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rather, Lucy s character is merely that, her own, a full embodiment of herself, and ultimately this is the major revelation she transcends to through her journey in Forster s novel. Whereas Elizabeth seeks to prove a point of equality, Lucy seeks to embody that point. This does not discount Elizabeth s progressiveness, but rather is central to how these two characters embody a continuum of feminism s development. Both Elizabeth and Lucy exhibit strong determination, but contexts shape them differently. In the world of victorian England, Elizabeth Bennett rejects the man she is destined to love because he outwardly does not met the decorum of society and slights her with his mannerism. In a similar way, Lucy holds to her own private prejudices in her rejection of George Emerson. But George Emerson is a far cry from Mr. Darcy; George being someone who has grown up equalizing women whereas Darcy has grown up believing they have a place. Therefore, for Lucy, expectations are different because the shift in gender equality is already well underway. Throughout the novel bread crumbs are dropped for Lucy about her own potential, whereas for the females of Austen s Longbourn, marriage is their only opportunity, their lone certain way to escape. Even Elizabeth Bennett cannot escape this reality. In A Room with A View the female character s autonomy is placed front in center. Furthermore, femininity itself is burgeoning out of even ... S. platanifolius is found in the east and north of Texas, whereas S. stellatus is found in the south. S. texana however, grows in the west. Because of their small population size, Texas snowbells cannot reproduce (Fish and Wildlife Service). Another challenge to their survival is the vegetation alteration caused by the increasing number of livestock, fire suppression, and cultivation (Texas Parks and Wildlife). Livestock are eating up the seeds produced by this flower. Grasses used to be tall, but became short because insects and animals are eating them. Since grasses are short, Texas snowbell is more noticeable to predators. Higher sedimentation loss and lower run offs is a result of the change in grass size, destroying the cliffs where Texas snowbells grow (Fish and Wildlife Service). Why Do We Need To Legalize Animal Testing Within the past several decades, as medical and scientific research have progressively advanced throughout the world, the global market has expanded to encompass a wide range of medications, chemicals, cosmetics, and other commercial products. In an endeavor to account for the constantly increasing demand for these products, numerous research facilities and laboratories have arisen across the United States. However, although a number of these medications and cosmetics have proven an asset to society, these products are created at the expense of the lives of millions of innocent creatures. Before becoming available for consumption on the market, the effectiveness of these products is verified through a series of unfathomably cruel animal trials and experiments. • 18. The Importance Of Resilience In My Life For an individual to be a success, it requires more than intellect. To flourish in your career and in life, your character must move you toward your aspirations. Throughout life, several experiences have formed me into a person of resilience, empathy, and composure. Such qualities have allowed me to reach my goals and serve my community. In addition to my intelligence, these qualities render me an exceptional student and employee. The ability to be resilient is at the core of who I am, and the challenges that have created this resilience have taught me empathy. Because of my weight, I was the subject of bullying in school and found relief in sports and exercise. Eventually, I lost fifty pounds and ascended the social ladder. With new friends and popularity, I attended a party and tried alcohol, at the adolescent age of fourteen. At the party, the star football player asked me to come talk to him, alone. Afterward, he led me into a room and shut the door. At that point, I began to feel suspicious, but overcome by alcohol, fell unconscious, then eventually wakened to him on top of me. Being so immature, I had no idea how to cope with the event and concealed it from everyone I could. The students that knew about it and even a few parents harassed me. Walking through the hallways of the school, I tolerated endless derogatory remarks. Ashamed and humiliated, I began skipping class and isolating myself from people. • 24. Global Spirits Brands Localizing Advertising Essay Why are Diageo, Pernod Ricard, and other marketers of global spirits brands localizing advertising campaigns in emerging markets? By localizing specific target markets, marketers are able to make more of an impact on several groups of specific markets than they would have if they had simply stayed with a general advertisement for a global brand. We have seen this in many major companies before. For example, Louis Vuitton would record one commercial and then change the voice over or text to be in whichever language or dialect they wanted it to be. In this case, marketers are doing the opposite by allowing many different options in order to attract a specific segment of consumers. I think market segmentation is critical for the success of Scotch from country to country for the reason that people drink Scotch from country to country for different reasons such as success. Since Scotch is widely associated with success and achievement, as well as accelerating thirst for Scotch, understanding each culture is important. The self satisfaction associated with achieving a goal may not be enough to persuade Chinese consumers to purchase Scotch whisky. The Chinese market for Scotch Whiskey is highly segmented because self satisfaction from achieving a goal is not enough; they need acknowledgement of achievement from others. For advertising for the Chinese, the scotch would need to be represented in a group in share of an occasion. Not only this, but localizing their advertising ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This distraction would ve been the perfect attempt to fool the FBI in its investigation. It seems to be no coincidence that D.B. Cooper ended up on a Boeing 727. The tie left behind on the plane showed that he could ve been a worker for the company. According to a group of scientists selected by federal officials in Seattle, A new analysis of the tie turned up particles of cerium, strontium sulfide, and pure titanium. The particles found were mainly used in the manufacture of certain aircrafts at the time. Tom Kaye of Citizen Sleuths, said the particles indicate Cooper may have worked in one of the rare industries where they were used. Kaye also said those substances were used in one of Boeing s plane that Cooper could ve been a manger or engineer at. In addition to the theory that Cooper s landing zone was around Reno, two letters showed up at the Reno newspapers. A few days ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Each organization spares every effort to stand forward the competition due to the fierce competition. In this article, we focus on the Starbucks , a prevailing coffee manufacturer in recent years. In 1971, a coffee bean retailing store named Starbucks was opened by Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl and Gordon Bowker in order to sell specialty whole bean coffee in Seattle. According to the researches already done, since Starbucks was built up at the beginning of 1970s, it has been recognized as the customers third home, other than their own houses and workplaces. Those bright and clean tables and comfortable chairs, together with the aroma of coffee from brewing the coffee beans, also the convenience that the customers can freely charge their laptops and music players, give the Starbucks experience it used to have. However, with the increasing number of the branches, quantities of automatic coffee machines are taking the place of the ones done by hand, also the counters that supply drive through in order to meet the need of the customers who are driving, began to sell food, drinks, even CD, which forced the Starbucks experience to disappear gradually. The CEO (Chief Executive Officer), Howard Schultz pointed that the main reason from the decline of Starbucks Experience was that the number of Starbucks shops increased sharply from only 1,000 to 13,000 within ten years. Other people considered their brand has been commercialized, and the customers hadn t had enough enthusiasms to appreciate every moment of their coffee any longer. He suggested that Starbucks should re find its origin. Nevertheless, his advice apparently was opposite to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lead compound for development of high affinity inhibitors b.Preliminary modification of the lead compound revealed that the introduction of an electron withdrawing substituent and hydrogen bond acceptor such as NO2 or CF3 at the 3 position of the phenyl ring or an electron donating substituent such as OR or COOH at the 4 position led to an increase of the inhibitory activity. Attempts to replace the nitro group with other electron withdrawing substituents at the 3 position resulted in identification of the cyano group as the best substituent among other substituents examined. The final structure proposed was found to be febuxustat with high inhibitory activity. c.The` CN group of febuxostat is necessary for potent enzyme inhibitory activity. • 42. The Combahee River Collective Our politics initially sprang from the shared belief that Black women are inherently valuable, that our liberation is a necessity not as an adjunct to somebody else s may because of our need as human persons for autonomy . The opening of the second part of The Combahee River Collective Statement, What We Believe, expresses one of the major will of the Third World Feminist studies: making Women a topic of research in its own rights. It s in 1977 that the Combahee River Collective, a US radical feminist lesbian group, wrote this very famous manifesto that became essential for the Black Feminism Mouvement. They made as central the total recognition of the different forms of oppressions, sexual, racial, social, that black women endure and the necessity to fight against them. Therefore, the integration of notions of gender, sexuality, race, class in any feminist analysis that deals with power and domination become unavoidable. They express clearly the logical result of their struggle, the destruction of the political, social and economical system as they are the representative basis of an unfair and racist society. To bring a fresh way of looking at the position of some women in the American society turn to be a way to consider differently the organisation and the functioning of the actors of a society on a national and also international level. • 44. Japan s Experience Of Defeat And Occupation At The End Of... Japan s experience of defeat and occupation at the end of the Second World War has most commonly been examined from the point of view of the conquerors. It has rarely been tackled as a Japanese experience. John Dower attempts to understand the hopes, visions and dreams of the defeated Japanese as they sought to remake their identity and values in the after the war. Dower examines an array of responses from the Japanese perspective to find out how they are feeling after the war. Dower places the Japanese against the background of an American Occupation which was at once high minded and visionary, arrogant and imperialist. Dower tackles this theme through two narratives. Secondly as an observer, he maintains a deep sympathy for his subjects while still preserving an appropriately sharp and critical moral sense as he navigates through their stories. Dower s cultural history begins with the anguish of physically and materially shattered lives at war s end. The shock, devastation, exhaustion and despair are listed to provide the reader a detailed narration of the events. The depth of loss and confusion which the Japanese people experienced is vividly conveyed, notably in Dower s accounts of the huge scale of social displacement and missing persons, and the long drawn out period of food droughts. Against this background of economic and social misery, however, Dower is also concerned to locate the effects of defeat on the Japanese people. Even in the pits of despair, people were reshaping their future identity and discovering new aspirations. Dower tackles this at three levels. First, he investigates the subcultures of defeat. The world of prostitution under the Occupation, for example was simultaneously an area of sexual exploitation and a channel for the growth of interracial affection and the undermining of old racial stereotypes. It was a symbol of national shame and a conduit for new American values of luxury, and materialism that were eagerly embraced. Likewise, the black markets were both explosions of entrepreneurial energy and a site for violent criminal gangs. And a new urban demimonde ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sammy told us to stay close behind him, for the way down could be a little tricky. As we walked with Sammy I stopped every once and awhile to bend down a study the small little yellow flowers that lined the pathway. I remembered reading about thses flowers! They were Mountain Parsley. They looked more beautiful in person than in my book. I pulled out my camera to take a quick picture of them. After I was finished I looked up and Sammy and my family were gone. At first I didn t panic. Earlier we had passed those tall blue flowers called Silvery Lupines. Or was it those bright orange ones called Scarlet Globemallows? It was then I realised I was lost. I was lost in the middle of Colorado. No one was in sight. There were flowers of many colors everywhere, the sun beat down hard on me, and it was scorching hot. I sat down and thought there was no hope. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 47. Effectiveness Of A Competitive Advantage Increasingly, firms find themselves, either by design or circumstances, operating in business environments fraught with unprecedented, unparalleled, unrelenting, and largely unpredictable change. Retaining competitive advantage is a constant preoccupation for all companies. Millions of words have been written purporting to identify the principles and practices most likely to enable firms to gain competitive advantage and, thereby, enjoy superior profit margins. Despite all this study, management remains a testing ground where theory, experience, judgment and, sometimes, luck play a role. According to Glenn (2009), approximately 90 per cent of senior executives who took a survey by The Economist s Magazine Intelligence Unit understand that their organizations have to be agile to thrive in the marketplace. According to Merriam Webster s Collegiate Dictionary, to be agile is to have a quick, resourceful and adaptable character (Agile, 2016). Agility has classically been defined as simply the ability to change direction rapidly (Bloomfield, Ackland, Elliot, 1994; Clarke, 1959; Mathews, 1973), but also the ability to change direction rapidly and accurately (Barrow McGee, 1971; Johnson Nelson, 1969). In more recent publications, some authors have defined agility to include whole body change of direction as well as rapid movement and direction change of limbs (Baechle, 1994; Draper Lancaster, 1985).
