Flippo Brunelleschi s Influence On Renaissance Architecture
Have you ever wondered who created those unique, detailed buildings long, long, ago? Renaissance
Architects were inspired by Ancient Rome and Greek architecture, to create beautiful buildings.
Filippo Brunelleschi was influenced and applied his idea s to building one of his most famous
creations. Leon Battista Alberti s sculptures and architecture are mainly due to his three influential
aspects on Renaissance art, and Roman architecture. Andrea Palladio was also influenced by the
Roman and Greek architecture, and with that created some unique buildings in the Renaissance. So

Alberti was not only an amazing architect, he was also very talented in creating Renaissance art
(specifically painting), poetry, and sculpturing, which was a very coincidental, and worked well
together all around. His life span was from February 14, 1404 April 25, 1472. As a designer and a
student of Vitruvius and of ancient Roman remains, he grasped the nature of column and lintel
architecture, from the visual rather than structural viewpoint. Some of his other major
accomplishments through his years was through the influence on ancient rome architecture, he
designed many buildings such as the The Tempio Malatestiano (aka, the Church of San Francesco).
Alberti also designed the New Facade of Santa Maria Novella, Florence in 1456. In his architecture,
he had the intention of using their symbolic content and associations to ennoble a modern building and
give it the sense of having a Renaissance culture feel to almost all of the buildings he would construct.
As one once said about Alberti s work, The result of the distinction is a new emphasis on building
mass totally unlike, even alien to Brunelleschi s architecture at San Lorenzo that so carefully
emphasized plane, space, and line. It is, however, related to the new interest in the quality and majesty
of mass and the sculptural treatment of space at Santo Spirito. So yes,

Unchained Memories
The Federal Writers Project is a group of writers who went out to record the experiences and thoughts
of people during the 1930s. Part of this project, the people interviewed are former slaves from 17
different states. Slave Memory is a documentary, which includes actors and speakers reading from
slave narratives that were conducted in the past. The voices come to life inside the narratives in the
documentary. I will be analyzing two different experiences of slaves. The first slave is Cato Carter he
had a very comfortable experience and slave Jennie Proctor had a crucial experience.

Taken from their families to live their life as a slave. Carter s experience made a big impact on a
bigger part of history. He thought it was wonderful living as a slave because he had the same blood.
Carter would not join his people for the reason that his definition of slavery was much different from
others. The other slaves who were sexually and violently abused such as Jeannie Procter would move
forward with the abolitionist movement. On the other hand, the slaves who were actually happy with
their other family inclined the movement. It is important because the experiences helped raise
awareness about the evil of slavery and the need for the ending of slavery. These interviews were used
as examples of Africans are as equal as Americans and europeans, given the freedom to do so. Both of
the different experiences were rooted from the hierarchy that was unconsciously created by the slave
owners. The light skinned slaves would be at the top, moving towards the middle would be the african
american children which is also set as the hierarchy where the lighter skin children will be a tad bit
higher than the dark skinned children. At the bottom, the dark skinned African americans would work
in the field. It is important because the individuals at the top were less likely to support the abolition
of slavery than those at the bottom who approve. This not only hindered for the abolitionist movement
to possibly succeed but it would put it as a standstill. For a while, no one would take the movement
seriously because using African americans as livestock was useful to the white folk. Although some
have come to the point where they think that these African americans are human beings as much as

Why People Wear Seatbelts
Deciding what to compose my essay of was no easy task. As a sixteen year old girl, many things today
anger or irritate me. I have a different outlook on life than most people, therefore, things that might
not bother the average teen girl infuriate me. After reflecting on the subject for a long time, I finally
came to the conclusion that nothing bothers me more than when people don t wear seat belts whenever
they operate or ride in a vehicle. Maybe it s perhaps because I have seen many wonderful people pass
away simply because they couldn t click their seat belt or maybe it s because wearing a seat belt is
logical, but some people still don t seem to understand. In today s modern world, there are a lot of
inventions that help make our life easier and safer. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Something that irritates me is when people, who obviously know right from wrong, don t use their
seatbelts. There s a reason why not wearing a seatbelt is illegal and enforced in most states. The
leading cause of death among is teens is vehicle accidents. In 2012 it was reported that in half of the
deaths, the person was no not wearing any type or restraint or seatbelt. Meaning 33,000 people died
and another 2.2 million were injured. This has a consequence and as a teenager myself, it makes me
sad to think that kids, just like me, had their life cut short. Many of them could ve went to college,
pursue a career, become the world s future doctors, businessmen, and leaders. Most people don t know
what they re risking when they don t buckle up. In addition to the tragedy

Security Clearance
The Security Investigations Service Center (SISC) notified our office that Veronica Gossa, a contract
employee working under Ernst and Young, could not get a security clearance. Ms. Gossa was outside
of the country for 214, thereby making her ineligible for a security clearance. Ms. Gossa s work with
the USPS involves an audit and access to sensitive financial information. The letter from the Security
Investigations Service Center states, The only other option available now is for the applicant to obtain
an exception letter for a Postal VP to the Chief Inspector for a residence waiver. There is another issue
regarding a name her change that SISC did not addressed in light of the travel provision making her
ineligible for clerance.
In the interest of full disclosure, I receive a call from the Security Investigations Service Center
indicating Mark Hairston, HQ Building Security, today regarding V. Gossa s access, contacted their
office. I spoke with Mr. Hairston, who referred me to Phil Jones, USPS Postal Police. I learned that
someone escorts Ms. Gossa into the building daily, which appears contrary to the security clearance
process. Effective today, she has exhausted the number of visits allowed, and will not be allowed to
enter the building. Ms. Gossa s has prior Security Clearance Processing Requests, as such, she would
have knowledge that travel outside of the country could have an effect on employment with the USPS.

Roles And Responsibilities Of Teacher
The roles and responsibilities of teacher, the boundaries they abide to.
Word count: 1317
Introduction This paper looks at teacher and a few requirements they have to do. It ll look at what a
teachers role is to the education system and what the teacher role is to learners. The professional
boundaries of teachers and their relationships with the learner. The different types of assessments for
the learners. The importance of record keeping what to keep and why and how to apply these into my
own teaching.
Teaching Role A teacher role in education is to teach the learner but it s more than that, it s to be a role
model, it s someone who a learner can depend and rely on. In 1984 David Kolb published his model
for the learning cycle. Learning is the process whereby knowledge is created through the
transformation of experience (Kolb, 1984, p. 38). The cycle is broken down into four parts; 1.
Concrete Experience (a new experience of situation is encountered, or a reinterpretation of existing
experience).
2. Reflective Observation (of the new experience. Of particular importance are any inconsistencies
between experience and understanding).
3. Abstract Conceptualization (Reflection gives rise to a new idea, or a modification of an existing
abstract concept).
4. Active Experimentation (the learner applies them to the world around them to see what results).
(S.McLeod,2013,1) The learning cycle show the process in which both children and adult learn.

The day is Thursday, March 16. I am at the Child Discovery Center, observing Josiah, age 8. Josiah is
part of the after school program, in room 1. The observation takes place outside, on the school s
playground. The time is 4:30 pm. Josiah starts to play a game of leprechaun tag , and he is it. He
begins to run after two other girls, his arms are lifted at his sides as he pumps them back and forth, and
he is running at a moderate pace. He is not as fast as the other children playing. While he is chasing
the girls, he comes up to a small wall. He extends his right foot, landing it on the wall, then pushing

According to the book, children at Josiah s age should have mastered agility, balance, coordination,
power, reaction time and speed. I don t think Josiah showed any real problem area that is concerning. I
do think that he can improve more on his gross motor development, since there s always room from
growth, and I think involving him in some different gross motor activities will help him improve even
more. The book also states that children at this age should have smooth and controlled movements.
Josiah s movements were all smooth, there wasn t a time where he struggled to do something. He is
able to smoothly and effectively perform actions with ease. Josiah will benefit from some gross motor

I was always inspired by the idea of storing large amounts of structured and unstructured data.
Therefore I chose to finish my concentration in Data Management.
I have finished the following courses as my concentration requirement:
ITCS 6162 Knowledge Discovery in databases
ITCS 6160 Database Systems
ITCS 6100 Big data Analytics for Competitive Advantage
The course Big data Analytics for Competitive Advantage has thrown some light about 3V s Volume,
Variety and Velocity at which the data is growing day by day and how this huge data is dealt with.
From Knowledge discovery in databases, I learnt how useful data can be extracted from a large pile of
unstructured data. In Database systems, I learnt how relational databases ruled for decades.
In this report I am going to discuss about No SQL databases and the criterion that are to be taken into
consideration when choosing a database that best supports your product. NoSQL databases enclose a
variety of database technologies and was developed in response to rise in volume of data unlike
relational databases which were built to handle structured data [1].

Tony Dungy Leadership
Before I begin my critical book review on The Mentor Leader by Tony Dungy, I would like to give a
brief background of the author Tony Dungy. Tony Dungy is best known for becoming the first African
American coach in NFL history to win a Super Bowl. Tony Dungy got his start in coaching football
when he became an assistant coach for his alma mater, the University of Minnesota. Tony Dungy then
moved into the NFL where he was an assistant coach in the Pittsburgh Steelers organization, the
Kansas City Chief organization, and the Minnesota Vikings organization. Tony Dungy eventually
achieved his dream by becoming the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 2002, he became
the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts where he led the organization to ... Show more content on

Along with their self confidence, every mentor leader needs an internal sense of security. From the
groundwork of security comes the capability to mentor other individuals, to lead them without
demanding continuous verification or being diminished by self doubt. Mentor leaders already have a
sense of security in who they are and they are able to devote themselves in assisting other individuals
cultivate and develop to their full potential. Attributes that are fundamental to the mentor leadership
style include demonstrating courage; modeling faith; and leading by example. Mentor leaders will
always be learning and growing, to be mentored themselves. Mentor leaders need to look for
opportunities to make an impact in all walks of life. Mentor leaders that make a difference in the lives
of others will always be present. Mentor leaders also need to understand that they act as a role model
to others. Mentor leaders will be known by their legacy. When Tony Dungy was in Junior High
School, the assistant principal Mr. Rockquemore acted as a mentor leader that still sticks with Dungy
to this day. Mr. Rockquemore sat with Tony Dungy and his friends during the lunch period and talked
to them about things outside of school. Mr. Rockquemore was trying to learn more about Tony Dungy
and his friends because he cared about his students. Tony Dungy was about the quit the high school
football team when Mr. Rockquemore took him under his wings and mentored the young Tony Dungy.
They developed a close relationship. Mr. Rockquemore felt that it was his duty to build into Tony
Dungy s life and to mentor him when he was about to get off track. The culture that one constructs
permeates everything you touch in life. The success to any mentor leader is to under take a culture that
supports it. When done successfully, mentor leadership is a constant practice of leading and being led,
of developing ourselves and cultivate the future leaders.

What Is The Theme Of The Book Of Job
The Book of Job is one of the most thoughtful and wonderful pieces of literature that has ever come to
light. It is the story of the man, Job, who maintains his fidelity to God, even when being subjected to
horrific trials. The work is understood as a masterpiece of Hebrew poetry. To emphasize that point, the
famous French novelist Victor Hugo allegedly has said that if all the world s literary efforts were to be
destroyed, and he could save but a solitary sample, it would be Job.
Job thinks that his exemplary life makes him deserve better treatment from God than he was getting,
and he says so over and over again. It makes the key message of the book, why do bad things happen
to good people? As bad things are happening to Job, the story ... Show more content on

But transforming life s challenges into positive self propellants takes self mastery. A strong conviction
that what he stood for was right gave him strength to carry on, despite his terrible circumstances.
Mandela recited the poem to himself and other prisoners as a way to bolster their spirits, and motivate
them to press onward. He didn t allow fear to paralyze him. He took a stand, believing in something
that he felt was right. He felt empowered by the message of self mastery.
Horace once said, Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents, which in prosperous circumstances
would have lain dormant. He continued saying, Adversity reveals genius; prosperity conceals it. There
are some people who thrive on adversity. Adversity will define them. They know the choices: either
give in or take hold of the situation and turn it around, and make it better. In the case of Job, Churchill,
and Mandela, adversity brought out the best of them. For some people, all the adversity they have had
in their lives all their troubles and obstacles they needed to overcome have strengthened them. For true
leaders, times of great calamity brought out the best in them. It brought out who they really were. Self

Consequences Of Statistical Inferences Providing A Result
Consequences of statistical inferences providing a result rather than an answer could include
researchers incorrectly applying related management implications to their studies, when in reality they
are applying a treatment that was not correctly interpreted. This could result in the new study
producing a non significant result when a biologically significant result should have been detected.
Researchers desperate for a significant P value may claim an observation that was not present in the
study, or perform researchers degrees of freedom, which is defined as decision making as researchers
conduct the study, and not beforehand.
b. Truth cannot be derived from a single study; it must be repeated to increase the precision of the
study and therefore the strength of inference made about the results. Often, using the same sample and
similar methods will not procure similar results, and therefore a consensus of studies should be
provided to make a general claim. Studies that truly follow the scientific method and include
randomization and repeatability will be closer to discovering the truth than other studies.
c. In the vitamin E study, the first studies conducted on the effects on vitamin E continued to be cited
and defended even when new evidence showed their results were incorrect because they felt true. This
still happens in natural science; for example, McCullough s study on the George Reserve in Michigan

1. How would you describe Marlboro s competitive position in early 1993?
Marlboro, the leading cigarette brand for Philip Morris, was the dominant player in the premium
priced market. While RJR was the second largest player in the market, RJR s cigarette brands were
fragmented. At the end of 1992, Marlboro had 24.4% unit market share, while each of the RJR brand
cigarettes had less than 7% market share. Philip Morris, at 53% operating contribution margin, was
significantly more profitable than RJR, at 34% operating contribution margin.

RJR
Phillp Morris was also presumably worried about the aggressive price cuts and promotions by RJR to
increase its market share.
Goals of Philip Morris Strategy
Philip Morris needed a aggressive competitive response to tacklethe threats of: declining market share,
increasing share of discount brands, regulation, and RJR s promotions and price cuts. They decided to
aggressively attack the existing discount brands and make the Philip Morris brand significantly more
price competitive.
Philip Morris effectively cut price by 20%, creating 2 tiers of cigarette pricing (from 3 tiers before).
Their premium products were now significantly more competitive, compared with the discount brands
due to their reduced price and existing strong brand image. Philip Morris were betting that a large
portion of consumers would compare their premium product as price competitive with the discount
brands, and would chose Marlboro due to its superior brand image and comparable prices. They
essentially wanted to win the pricing game and lead with their brand. Surprisingly, they slightly
increased the price of their discount brand by a mere 6 cents. This was probably to restrict the range in
which the pricing war could be played by other players.
Industry Outlook for Philip Morris
Surely with the consumer behavior shift and the increasingly hostile regulatory climate described
above, Philip Morris views the industry margins becoming thinner and realizes

High School Job
Let s be honest, sometimes the Game of Life is all too real and some of us never had the chance to get

to make the most money possible with little more than a high school diploma and some of these jobs
may surprise you. Of course the simple solution would be to become an actor or sports star but these
jobs are a little more down to earth.

Truck Driver
Being a truck driver is definitely not glamorous and it usually means a lot of time away from home but
the tradeoff is fat pay checks in the bank. Driving a truck requires little training and many companies
offer on the job training for no additional cost. Truck drivers can make anywhere from around 48K to

Class Struggle In Hamlet
Throughout history, class divisions have always been a big issue. Many works today display social
inequality; however, to realize it, one has to look through the right lens. Literary critical lenses help to
see a work from a different angle which leads to a better analysis of the composition. There are many
different lenses and aspects in literature, and one of them is the Marxist Theory. Also known as the
Conflict Theory, this idea claims that class struggle is a big divider in society. Although it is more of a
cultural idea, this concept also applies to literature. In his play Hamlet, William Shakespeare clearly
demonstrates the idea of class struggles; looking at this composition through the lens of the Marxist
Theory, one uncovers that the powerful ones suppress and manipulates the others in an attempt to
display their superiority. Class struggle is really obvious in Hamlet. The royals exploit and use the
lower class in order to achieve their goals. People from the working class obey the Aristocrats
commands and they do not have a big importance in their society. The Aristocrats notably Hamlet,
Claudius and even Gertrude oppress others in order to get what they want and show that they are
superior. Claudius kills his own brother and marries Gertrude in order to have a better chance to be
king since she is the the imperial jointress, to the throne; he does not love Gertrude; he is using her to
get the power (I.ii.9). Even when he has the throne, he still wants more

Fire Service Traditions
During the Revolutionary War, fire was used as a weapon for both the colonies and the British. This
demanded suppression efforts during wartime so, many militia members were also firefighters. Some
of the most notable revolutionary figures were also firefighters including: Washington, Hamilton,
Adams, Hancock, and Revere. However, during this time fire companies were often hostile to each
other. Volunteer fire companies, most infamously in Philadelphia, were heavily influenced and ran by
gangs for example the Killers or the Rats. Many times, Fire companies would often engage in a mob
like fight to see who would put out a fire before actually putting the fire out, which led to an overall
blaze and often counteracted the fire company s arrival. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
fire service holds the profession in very high regards and keeps true many unique and long established
traditions. Two specific heritages, both of Celtic descent, became a heavy influence the fire service s
traditions: the Scottish and the Irish. The most notable tradition from the two Celtic heritages is the
bagpipes often found today during U.S, firefighter funerals. This originated sometime around the Irish
Potato Famine when large amounts of Irish men and women emigrated from Ireland to America.
During this period, the Irish faced heavy discrimination and often could not find work, however many
were able to become firefighters as no one else was willing to take these jobs. During this time with
the lack of practiced safety, death was very likely in the fire service. At Irish firefighter funerals, the
bagpipes were always played to send home the fallen firefighter, it wasn t too long before families and
friends of non Irish firefighters began asking for the bagpipes to be played for fallen heroes due to the
dignified atmosphere the bagpipes created at the funerals. The Fireman s Ringing of the Bell is a
second American instituted tradition. The ceremonial ringing of the bell in memory of those who died
in the line of duty is an age old tradition of the Fire Service. The bell, instituted sometime around the
1850 s, was long used to signal an emergency, as an early form as a siren, and used to mark the end of
an emergency and a return to quarters (the fire station). The final tolling of the bell at a firefighter s
funeral is to signal the last alarm the firefighter faces. In memory of all who died during the attacks on
September 11, 2001, the bell is rung five times in series of fives (5 x 5 x 5 x 5 x 5). When this series is
multiplied out, it equals 3,125 which is in close proximity to the number of people who died as result
of the September 11th attacks. Finally, a third longstanding tradition of the fire service, which has

Determinants Of Short Term Debt Financing
Discuss the topic and its variables.
The topic under study is Determinants of short term debt financing. When we have a look at this topic,
we see that this whole article clearly states the factors that influence or affect the short term debt
financing.
This tells us that the amount of short term debt financing, which a firm is having in use, is directly
related to the quantity of a firm s current assets. Short term assets and liabilities are said to be those
items which can be used, can be liquidated, mature or even paid off within a period of one year.
This also states, that a firm should keep on adjusting its short term debt financing until the amount of
that firm s current liabilities equals to that of its current assets and a firm s short term debt financing
should vary over time, as we know that the amount of a firm s current assets and liabilities does
change.
Even if a firm grows, the amount of its current assets will increase and same goes for the current
liabilities. SO, in accordance with this, a firm will have to increase the amount of its short term debt
financing. If a firm s current assets decrease, then the amount of its short term debt financing and
other current liabilities will decrease. Hence, this is called the size effect on short term debt and it
leads to a direct relationship between a firm s current assets balance and short term debt financing.
Furthermore, another source of change in a firm s short term debt financing may occur if we take

Antigone And The Adjustment Bureau Summary
Faith Morrow

Pre AP;5th hour
20 December, 2017
Compare and Contrast Essay Both Antigone and the Adjustment Bureau have similarities and
differences, when analyzing one government and democracy about the both of them! There are many
ways to compare and contrast these two pieces! Although Antigone and the Adjustment Bureau are
completely different, there are many similarities that you can draw from the both of them. Not only
can you relate both of theses pieces together using one motif, you can also relate the same motif to the
real world and to the choices that you make! In Antigone, government and democracy played a huge
role throughout the story! Creon is one that really relates to this motif! In the city of Thebes, the
government was a form of democratic democracy. At the time, Creon was king! Throughout the story,
Creon ruled as a dictator! His everyday choices depended on his governmentative standing! He used
his power over the people in the city when making choices that he thought would be beneficial. He
only listened to himself and he believed that every choice he made was right! Many different
characters in the story tried to offer advice to Creon, when they realized that he was making irrational
decisions, but he chose to ignore them and he continued along his own path. For example,
Tiresias(who is a seer, and knows what s going to happen in the future) tried to warn Creon about
what would happen at the rate Creon was going at! Tiresias tried to offer Creon advice and he told
Creon that he really should take his advice, but Creon took this as an insult. Whenever someone told
Creon what to do, he took it as an insult and he wouldn t listen to anyone, but himself. In the
Adjustment Bureau, government and democracy arises right when the movie begins and is continued
throughout the film. At the beginning of the movie, David was running for Congress! Due to this, he
had to change his lifestyles and he had to be more cautious about the choices that he made. For
example, at the beginning of the movie David s support system was weakened, because he got into a
bar fight that went viral! Due to the fact that he worked for the government, he had very little privacy,
which caused this

Heaton manor letter
After reading the letter from Heaton manor I realised that this letter was written formally. This is
because the way the writer has written it is professional. The letter was drafted to the student s parents
about a trip. They used the words Dear at the beginning and Yours Faithfully at the end of the page,
which is only used if you are writing to a person that you do not know.
However, they wrote the letter to Parents and Careers so that it is generalised to whoever is taking care
of the child. This is because it is harder to write a letter to each parent. Also, Career is used so that
nobody is offended.
Although, it would have been exceeding if they wrote to each parent, this would make the parents
know that they have taken their time to write to each parent so their child could go to the trip. Also,
they have added the date. This material is added to show when the letter was written.
The address isn t added. Previously stated, this is because it would have taken the Head of ICT longer,
especially as they might not know the addresses of each student. Also, most of the logos are either
combined at the top or at the bottom of the page. This is used to show which company or school this is
from. In this letter, the colour blue is mostly used, for example, the logo. The

Persuasive Essay On Weight Class
key points
Unless you are weighing a pride for life, the fastest way to increase your competence in power lifting
is to get fat leaner if you lose.
After that, you should strive to get into the greatest weight class that you can achieve while
maintaining a good body structure.
When you go up to weight classes, it may be less competitive for you for one or two years while
acquiring muscle but in general a weight class will be more competitive in heavy in the long run.
Most people should not depend on water cut to make weight, but if you cut water, you should not cut 2
3% more than your body weight with daily weight or 5% of your body weight Weight a day ago Large
cuts can be dangerous and potentially injury performance.

2 of this series to get an idea of what weight class will raise and what you should aim for.
However, if this response is not comfortable with you, I m not very surprised. It is often met with
some push. If you move above a weight class, then you should be equally competitive, after all, to be

Analysis Of The American Dream In Death Of A Salesman
Death of Salesman is a story about an extremely hard working man, named Willy, and his family who
are struggling in fulfilling their dreams. In Death of a Salesman, Willy has many conflicting feelings
with his jobless son Biff. Throughout the story, Willy believes that success will come to him if he
works the hardest he can and by being famous in the spectrum of business and jobs. Biff on the other
hand realizes that this is not the way success is achieved and is more angered by his father s delusions
towards this idea. In the end of the book, Willy starts to realize that Biff might be correct after all after
Willy was fired from his job and decides to commit suicide as a result to get insurance money for Biff
to start a business. Willy s unshakeable pride in this belief, also called The American Dream ,
ultimately led to his demise and most importantly his death. In Death of a Salesman, Arthur Miller
uses an illusional tone, repetition, and idiomatic phrases to exemplify the idea that having excessive
pride in a certain belief is going to ultimately lead to a person s demise. Arthur Miller uses an illusive
tone throughout the story when Willy is discussing the success he had in his past. Although this tone
makes it seem like Willy is being treated unjustly because of his previous successes that is not
necessarily true. The quote, ... in 1928 I had a big year. I averaged a hundred and seventy dollars a
week in commissions (Miller 82) , shows how Willy s belief that he has worked and accomplished too
much to be fired by Howard. The statement Willy makes is actually false. In reality he was never this
successful and in return shows that he is not that much worth to the firm. This creates an illusive tone
because it shows a deceptive memory that was untrue and makes it seem like Willy is being unfairly
treated, but in reality is just showing that Willy has too much pride in himself to the point that he
remembers things that are untrue, thus alluding back to the purpose that having too much pride in a
belief is going to ultimately lead to their demise. Another way Miller shows Willy s excessive pride is
when Willy tries to emphasize the wonder of America by saying, ...and that s the wonder, the wonder

The Case Of Alexander Vs. Holmes County Board Of Education
The topic I ll be discussing will be the biasedness in media about a particular topic, the US Supreme
Court s decision on the case of Alexander vs. Holmes County Board of Education. The case involved a
previous Supreme Court ruling of Brown vs. Board of Education, where they gave schools to
desegregate public schools with all deliberate speed. 15 years passed and school districts were still
segregated, so the courts gave them till the beginning of the next year, 1970. This gave some schools a
very abrupt shock as they had to conform to the decision. As something that opinionated, it allows
news media to explore and write about such a topic. The following day after the case was presented to
the Supreme Justices, the Dallas Morning News paper gave a few remarks about how the federal
government stood alongside the state of Mississippi in the Supreme Court and pleaded for delay in
further desegregation... 1 The use of the federal government in this situation is to have the reader
sympathize with Mississippi and is even followed by pleaded to further the sympathy. The
government shared the frustrations of black school children... 1 is written to try to balance out the
biased opinion but when children is used instead of students, it creates a belittling picture of their
opposition. The administration s chief civil rights lawyer, Jerris Leonard, was quoted saying that both
the North and South had made substantial breakthroughs in desegregation of schools... but that

In the poems Robert Burns To a Mouse and The Mouse s Petition by Anna Letitia Barbauld, many
feelings and emotions about mice are brought forth. While both poems were written by different
authors, many of the feelings they share towards mice are common. The analysis of the two poems

tone. Examples from the poems will help to show the similarities and differences in the two.

Anna writes through poem that this act is unjust and should not happen to such a creature. Through the
use of the poem she tries to tell the scientist Beware, lest in the worm you crush, a brother s soul you

life of a fellow man. The poems theme is effective and pushes the reader to feel sorrow for the poor
mouse. In To a Mouse by Robert Burns, the ongoing themes are guilt and fear. Burns knows what
mice are up to, stealing his food from his crops and ruining his walls within his home to make homes
of their own. Burns however, does not care because he himself feels guilty for the little mice. Burns
feels like even though they may be a nuisance to some humans, the mice have no choice but to do
these things to live to see another day. I doubt na, whiles, but thou may thieve; What then? Poor
beastie, thou maun live! (Burns l.13 14) Burns explains why he is not bothered that the mice steal his
food. Burns also has the theme of fear in his poem. The mice fear men, and for good reason, Burns is
aware of this and makes minimal effort to scare the mice while they are at work. An justifies that ill
opinion which makes thee startle, (Burns, l.9 10) Burns discusses how the fear mice have for men is
due to the brutes who have no patience to understand what the mice go through. While the two poems

Did Thomas Jefferson Abandon His Ethics for the Lousiana...
Did Thomas Jefferson give up his deeply held political values in order to purchase the Louisiana
Territory from the French (P. 2)? This is the major question that has led to much debate within the
early history of America (P. 1). Some historians argue that Thomas Jefferson did, in fact, throw away
his commitment to states rights and constructionism by the large purchase of Louisiana for the U.S.
(P.1). On the other hand, some believe that President Jefferson supported his political beliefs, the
fortification of the republican government, with the Louisiana Purchase (P. 1).

abandon his political ethics by purchasing the Louisiana Territory (P. 14). Balleck states that the
Louisiana Purchase was the greatest achievement of Thomas Jefferson s presidency (P. 14). With the
addition of the new territory to the United States, President Jefferson secured the nation for
generations, if not centuries to come (P. 14). Jefferson was confident that purchasing the Louisiana
Territory would encourage the development of an upright Republican populace (P. 14). Surprisingly,
he had many reservations about his authority to purchase Louisiana, but that did not stop him from
laying the treaty before Congress (P. 19). He also knew that, by purchasing Louisiana, the Federalists
power might be lost, but he still pushed forward with the treaty (P. 19). Although many historians
criticize President Jefferson for giving up his most visible political convictions by purchasing
Louisiana, he knew that it would double the size of the United States and ensure much land expansion
for the country (P. 20). He strongly believed that the new territory was essential to national security (P.

The Resilience Center Lists The Definition Of Resiliency
The Resiliency Center lists the definition of Resiliency as:
Able to recover quickly from misfortune; able to return to original form after being bent, compressed,
or stretched out of shape. A human ability to recover quickly from disruptive change, or misfortune
without being overwhelmed or acting in dysfunctional or harmful ways. As in Our team showed great
resilience, or Our team had good resiliency. (n.d.)
There are numerous points of view on resiliency, as non‑governmental associations (NGOs) perceive
that individuals capacity to better withstand and recuperate from calamities is basic to maintaining
improvement. NGOs, contributors and worldwide reaction groups are attempting to characterize
resiliency in their terms. CRS characterizes resiliency as the capacity of people, communities and
institutions to advance integral human development in the face of shocks, cycles and trends (2014,
p.2). The vulnerable individuals themselves best characterize strength and resiliency. What vulnerable
individuals accept helps most to their versatility limit is discriminating to current dialogs on resiliency.
Contributors and NGOs may have their own meaning of the term; however, an understanding of what
it really means to individuals looking to make their community resilient is crucial to outlining

Gay Marriage Should be Banned
1. Introduction
Gay marriage has been in hot debate for a while now. What once was shunned in almost every culture
and society is now creeping into our laws and customs as normal and even acceptable due to the
increase of radicals found in Anglo Saxon societies such as the US and UK. Fueled by the recent
revolutions of women and interracial groups, homosexuals (a group less than 1 percent of the world s
population), have finally taken a stand. Marriage has been a union of opposite sexes for nearly 5000
years and now has come into such scrutiny that it has taken on the attention of the Supreme Court. On
April 28th, 2015, the Supreme Court began the case of Obergefell v. Hodge, the dispute which would
settle the legalization of gay marriage in the entire US. From such a case, the question arises: Should
gay marriage be legalized in the United States? After analyzing the points on both sides of the feud, I
came to the clear conclusion that the answer was no, gay marriage should become and continue to be
illegal in the United States.
2. Why Should we Ban Gay Marriage?
II.A.
Marriage was originally intended as the union of two people of opposite gender in order to create a
procreation flesh. The problem with this is that a gay marriage, or union of two males or two females,
would produce an entirely sterile couple who could not produce children with each other. Although
seemingly harmless, this

Money Can Buy The Pursuit Of Happiness
MONEY When it comes to the topic of money granting happiness, most of us readily agree that it can
because it gives us status, value, and happiness in society s modern culture. Where this agreement
usually ends, however, is on the question of money not being able to buy the pursuit of happiness.
Whereas some are convinced that money grants once in a lifetime experience, medical help for loved
ones, and pleasurable life necessities, others are convinced that they don t need money to be happy
and would rather be poor and happy than rich and miserable. Money is used for buying, giving, and
having fun with it. Money is everything in today world, and not a lot of people have money so there
chances of being happy is very unlikely. According to John Grohol Psy. D, a researcher and writes
about mental health psychology and technology issues, states, Money can buy you happiness as long
as you give some of the money away, or use it for an experience rather than buying a product because
as you may not be aware of, recent studies have shown that we are generally happier when we spend
money on experience (Grohol 1). To me money can buy you happiness because it changes our mood
and how we feel because it s undeniable. I also concord with John when saying we should give some
money away. For example, give some money to charities or to unfortunate people because some
people need it more than we do. It will basically make us feel happier at the end of the day. To me, if

  • 2. Flippo Brunelleschi s Influence On Renaissance Architecture Have you ever wondered who created those unique, detailed buildings long, long, ago? Renaissance Architects were inspired by Ancient Rome and Greek architecture, to create beautiful buildings. Filippo Brunelleschi was influenced and applied his idea s to building one of his most famous creations. Leon Battista Alberti s sculptures and architecture are mainly due to his three influential aspects on Renaissance art, and Roman architecture. Andrea Palladio was also influenced by the Roman and Greek architecture, and with that created some unique buildings in the Renaissance. So yes, as you can see the architectural aspects of the time of the Renaissance was very important since it was influenced by the beautiful buildings of the time of the Roman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Alberti was not only an amazing architect, he was also very talented in creating Renaissance art (specifically painting), poetry, and sculpturing, which was a very coincidental, and worked well together all around. His life span was from February 14, 1404 April 25, 1472. As a designer and a student of Vitruvius and of ancient Roman remains, he grasped the nature of column and lintel architecture, from the visual rather than structural viewpoint. Some of his other major accomplishments through his years was through the influence on ancient rome architecture, he designed many buildings such as the The Tempio Malatestiano (aka, the Church of San Francesco). Alberti also designed the New Facade of Santa Maria Novella, Florence in 1456. In his architecture, he had the intention of using their symbolic content and associations to ennoble a modern building and give it the sense of having a Renaissance culture feel to almost all of the buildings he would construct. As one once said about Alberti s work, The result of the distinction is a new emphasis on building mass totally unlike, even alien to Brunelleschi s architecture at San Lorenzo that so carefully emphasized plane, space, and line. It is, however, related to the new interest in the quality and majesty of mass and the sculptural treatment of space at Santo Spirito. So yes, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Slave Memory Analysis Emily Hernandez Mr. Medina History 120 May 18, 2016 Unchained Memories The Federal Writers Project is a group of writers who went out to record the experiences and thoughts of people during the 1930s. Part of this project, the people interviewed are former slaves from 17 different states. Slave Memory is a documentary, which includes actors and speakers reading from slave narratives that were conducted in the past. The voices come to life inside the narratives in the documentary. I will be analyzing two different experiences of slaves. The first slave is Cato Carter he had a very comfortable experience and slave Jennie Proctor had a crucial experience. Carter s experience made a big impact on a bigger part of history. He thought it was wonderful living as a slave because he had the same blood. Carter would not join his people for the reason that his definition of slavery was much different from others. The other slaves who were sexually and violently abused such as Jeannie Procter would move forward with the abolitionist movement. On the other hand, the slaves who were actually happy with their other family inclined the movement. It is important because the experiences helped raise awareness about the evil of slavery and the need for the ending of slavery. These interviews were used as examples of Africans are as equal as Americans and europeans, given the freedom to do so. Both of the different experiences were rooted from the hierarchy that was unconsciously created by the slave owners. The light skinned slaves would be at the top, moving towards the middle would be the african american children which is also set as the hierarchy where the lighter skin children will be a tad bit higher than the dark skinned children. At the bottom, the dark skinned African americans would work in the field. It is important because the individuals at the top were less likely to support the abolition of slavery than those at the bottom who approve. This not only hindered for the abolitionist movement to possibly succeed but it would put it as a standstill. For a while, no one would take the movement seriously because using African americans as livestock was useful to the white folk. Although some have come to the point where they think that these African americans are human beings as much as they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Why People Wear Seatbelts Deciding what to compose my essay of was no easy task. As a sixteen year old girl, many things today anger or irritate me. I have a different outlook on life than most people, therefore, things that might not bother the average teen girl infuriate me. After reflecting on the subject for a long time, I finally came to the conclusion that nothing bothers me more than when people don t wear seat belts whenever they operate or ride in a vehicle. Maybe it s perhaps because I have seen many wonderful people pass away simply because they couldn t click their seat belt or maybe it s because wearing a seat belt is logical, but some people still don t seem to understand. In today s modern world, there are a lot of inventions that help make our life easier and safer. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Something that irritates me is when people, who obviously know right from wrong, don t use their seatbelts. There s a reason why not wearing a seatbelt is illegal and enforced in most states. The leading cause of death among is teens is vehicle accidents. In 2012 it was reported that in half of the deaths, the person was no not wearing any type or restraint or seatbelt. Meaning 33,000 people died and another 2.2 million were injured. This has a consequence and as a teenager myself, it makes me sad to think that kids, just like me, had their life cut short. Many of them could ve went to college, pursue a career, become the world s future doctors, businessmen, and leaders. Most people don t know what they re risking when they don t buckle up. Security Clearance The Security Investigations Service Center (SISC) notified our office that Veronica Gossa, a contract employee working under Ernst and Young, could not get a security clearance. Ms. Gossa was outside of the country for 214, thereby making her ineligible for a security clearance. Ms. Gossa s work with the USPS involves an audit and access to sensitive financial information. The letter from the Security Investigations Service Center states, The only other option available now is for the applicant to obtain an exception letter for a Postal VP to the Chief Inspector for a residence waiver. There is another issue regarding a name her change that SISC did not addressed in light of the travel provision making her ineligible for clerance. In the interest of full disclosure, I receive a call from the Security Investigations Service Center indicating Mark Hairston, HQ Building Security, today regarding V. Gossa s access, contacted their office. I spoke with Mr. Hairston, who referred me to Phil Jones, USPS Postal Police. I learned that someone escorts Ms. Gossa into the building daily, which appears contrary to the security clearance process. Effective today, she has exhausted the number of visits allowed, and will not be allowed to enter the building. Ms. Gossa s has prior Security Clearance Processing Requests, as such, she would have knowledge that travel outside of the country could have an effect on employment with the USPS. ... Word count: 1317 Introduction This paper looks at teacher and a few requirements they have to do. It ll look at what a teachers role is to the education system and what the teacher role is to learners. The professional boundaries of teachers and their relationships with the learner. The different types of assessments for the learners. The importance of record keeping what to keep and why and how to apply these into my own teaching. Teaching Role A teacher role in education is to teach the learner but it s more than that, it s to be a role model, it s someone who a learner can depend and rely on. In 1984 David Kolb published his model for the learning cycle. Learning is the process whereby knowledge is created through the transformation of experience (Kolb, 1984, p. 38). The cycle is broken down into four parts; 1. Concrete Experience (a new experience of situation is encountered, or a reinterpretation of existing experience). 2. Reflective Observation (of the new experience. Of particular importance are any inconsistencies between experience and understanding). 3. Abstract Conceptualization (Reflection gives rise to a new idea, or a modification of an existing abstract concept). 4. Active Experimentation (the learner applies them to the world around them to see what results). (S.McLeod,2013,1) The learning cycle show the process in which both children and adult learn. The observation takes place outside, on the school s playground. The time is 4:30 pm. Josiah starts to play a game of leprechaun tag , and he is it. He begins to run after two other girls, his arms are lifted at his sides as he pumps them back and forth, and he is running at a moderate pace. He is not as fast as the other children playing. While he is chasing the girls, he comes up to a small wall. He extends his right foot, landing it on the wall, then pushing off in one swift motion. He continues to run after the girls for a few minutes, chasing them around the playground and avoiding objects and people. Josiah slows down to a walk, arms resting at his ... The book also states that children at this age should have smooth and controlled movements. Josiah s movements were all smooth, there wasn t a time where he struggled to do something. He is able to smoothly and effectively perform actions with ease. Josiah will benefit from some gross motor activities to help him master all these skills. Tony Dungy is best known for becoming the first African American coach in NFL history to win a Super Bowl. Tony Dungy got his start in coaching football when he became an assistant coach for his alma mater, the University of Minnesota. Tony Dungy then moved into the NFL where he was an assistant coach in the Pittsburgh Steelers organization, the Kansas City Chief organization, and the Minnesota Vikings organization. From the groundwork of security comes the capability to mentor other individuals, to lead them without demanding continuous verification or being diminished by self doubt. Mentor leaders already have a sense of security in who they are and they are able to devote themselves in assisting other individuals cultivate and develop to their full potential. Attributes that are fundamental to the mentor leadership style include demonstrating courage; modeling faith; and leading by example. Mentor leaders will always be learning and growing, to be mentored themselves. Mentor leaders need to look for opportunities to make an impact in all walks of life. Mentor leaders that make a difference in the lives of others will always be present. Mentor leaders also need to understand that they act as a role model to others. Mentor leaders will be known by their legacy. When Tony Dungy was in Junior High School, the assistant principal Mr. Rockquemore acted as a mentor leader that still sticks with Dungy to this day. Mr. Rockquemore sat with Tony Dungy and his friends during the lunch period and talked to them about things outside of school. Mr. Rockquemore was trying to learn more about Tony Dungy and his friends because he cared about his students. Tony Dungy was about the quit the high school football team when Mr. Rockquemore took him under his wings and mentored the young Tony Dungy. They developed a close relationship. Mr. Rockquemore felt that it was his duty to build into Tony Dungy s life and to mentor him when he was about to get off track. The culture that one constructs permeates everything you touch in life. The success to any mentor leader is to under take a culture that supports it. • 11. What Is The Theme Of The Book Of Job The Book of Job is one of the most thoughtful and wonderful pieces of literature that has ever come to light. It is the story of the man, Job, who maintains his fidelity to God, even when being subjected to horrific trials. The work is understood as a masterpiece of Hebrew poetry. To emphasize that point, the famous French novelist Victor Hugo allegedly has said that if all the world s literary efforts were to be destroyed, and he could save but a solitary sample, it would be Job. Job thinks that his exemplary life makes him deserve better treatment from God than he was getting, and he says so over and over again. It makes the key message of the book, why do bad things happen to good people? As bad things are happening to Job, the story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He took a stand, believing in something that he felt was right. He felt empowered by the message of self mastery. Horace once said, Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents, which in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant. He continued saying, Adversity reveals genius; prosperity conceals it. There are some people who thrive on adversity. Adversity will define them. They know the choices: either give in or take hold of the situation and turn it around, and make it better. In the case of Job, Churchill, and Mandela, adversity brought out the best of them. • 12. Consequences Of Statistical Inferences Providing A Result Consequences of statistical inferences providing a result rather than an answer could include researchers incorrectly applying related management implications to their studies, when in reality they are applying a treatment that was not correctly interpreted. This could result in the new study producing a non significant result when a biologically significant result should have been detected. Researchers desperate for a significant P value may claim an observation that was not present in the study, or perform researchers degrees of freedom, which is defined as decision making as researchers conduct the study, and not beforehand. b. Truth cannot be derived from a single study; it must be repeated to increase the precision of the study and therefore the strength of inference made about the results. Often, using the same sample and similar methods will not procure similar results, and therefore a consensus of studies should be provided to make a general claim. Studies that truly follow the scientific method and include randomization and repeatability will be closer to discovering the truth than other studies. c. In the vitamin E study, the first studies conducted on the effects on vitamin E continued to be cited and defended even when new evidence showed their results were incorrect because they felt true. Marlboro, the leading cigarette brand for Philip Morris, was the dominant player in the premium priced market. At the end of 1992, Marlboro had 24.4% unit market share, while each of the RJR brand cigarettes had less than 7% market share. Philip Morris, at 53% operating contribution margin, was significantly more profitable than RJR, at 34% operating contribution margin. RJR Phillp Morris was also presumably worried about the aggressive price cuts and promotions by RJR to increase its market share. Goals of Philip Morris Strategy Philip Morris needed a aggressive competitive response to tacklethe threats of: declining market share, increasing share of discount brands, regulation, and RJR s promotions and price cuts. They decided to aggressively attack the existing discount brands and make the Philip Morris brand significantly more price competitive. Philip Morris effectively cut price by 20%, creating 2 tiers of cigarette pricing (from 3 tiers before). Their premium products were now significantly more competitive, compared with the discount brands due to their reduced price and existing strong brand image. Philip Morris were betting that a large portion of consumers would compare their premium product as price competitive with the discount brands, and would chose Marlboro due to its superior brand image and comparable prices. They essentially wanted to win the pricing game and lead with their brand. Surprisingly, they slightly increased the price of their discount brand by a mere 6 cents. This was probably to restrict the range in which the pricing war could be played by other players. • 15. Class Struggle In Hamlet Throughout history, class divisions have always been a big issue. Many works today display social inequality; however, to realize it, one has to look through the right lens. Literary critical lenses help to see a work from a different angle which leads to a better analysis of the composition. There are many different lenses and aspects in literature, and one of them is the Marxist Theory. Also known as the Conflict Theory, this idea claims that class struggle is a big divider in society. Although it is more of a cultural idea, this concept also applies to literature. In his play Hamlet, William Shakespeare clearly demonstrates the idea of class struggles; looking at this composition through the lens of the Marxist Theory, one uncovers that the powerful ones suppress and manipulates the others in an attempt to display their superiority. Class struggle is really obvious in Hamlet. The royals exploit and use the lower class in order to achieve their goals. People from the working class obey the Aristocrats commands and they do not have a big importance in their society. The Aristocrats notably Hamlet, Claudius and even Gertrude oppress others in order to get what they want and show that they are superior. Claudius kills his own brother and marries Gertrude in order to have a better chance to be king since she is the the imperial jointress, to the throne; he does not love Gertrude; he is using her to get the power (I.ii.9). • 16. Fire Service Traditions During the Revolutionary War, fire was used as a weapon for both the colonies and the British. This demanded suppression efforts during wartime so, many militia members were also firefighters. Some of the most notable revolutionary figures were also firefighters including: Washington, Hamilton, Adams, Hancock, and Revere. However, during this time fire companies were often hostile to each other. Volunteer fire companies, most infamously in Philadelphia, were heavily influenced and ran by gangs for example the Killers or the Rats. Many times, Fire companies would often engage in a mob like fight to see who would put out a fire before actually putting the fire out, which led to an overall blaze and often counteracted the fire company s arrival. ... Two specific heritages, both of Celtic descent, became a heavy influence the fire service s traditions: the Scottish and the Irish. The most notable tradition from the two Celtic heritages is the bagpipes often found today during U.S, firefighter funerals. This originated sometime around the Irish Potato Famine when large amounts of Irish men and women emigrated from Ireland to America. During this period, the Irish faced heavy discrimination and often could not find work, however many were able to become firefighters as no one else was willing to take these jobs. During this time with the lack of practiced safety, death was very likely in the fire service. At Irish firefighter funerals, the bagpipes were always played to send home the fallen firefighter, it wasn t too long before families and friends of non Irish firefighters began asking for the bagpipes to be played for fallen heroes due to the dignified atmosphere the bagpipes created at the funerals. The Fireman s Ringing of the Bell is a second American instituted tradition. The ceremonial ringing of the bell in memory of those who died in the line of duty is an age old tradition of the Fire Service. The bell, instituted sometime around the 1850 s, was long used to signal an emergency, as an early form as a siren, and used to mark the end of an emergency and a return to quarters (the fire station). The final tolling of the bell at a firefighter s funeral is to signal the last alarm the firefighter faces. In memory of all who died during the attacks on September 11, 2001, the bell is rung five times in series of fives (5 x 5 x 5 x 5 x 5). When this series is multiplied out, it equals 3,125 which is in close proximity to the number of people who died as result of the September 11th attacks. • 17. Determinants Of Short Term Debt Financing Discuss the topic and its variables. The topic under study is Determinants of short term debt financing. When we have a look at this topic, we see that this whole article clearly states the factors that influence or affect the short term debt financing. This tells us that the amount of short term debt financing, which a firm is having in use, is directly related to the quantity of a firm s current assets. Short term assets and liabilities are said to be those items which can be used, can be liquidated, mature or even paid off within a period of one year. This also states, that a firm should keep on adjusting its short term debt financing until the amount of that firm s current liabilities equals to that of its current assets and a firm s short term debt financing should vary over time, as we know that the amount of a firm s current assets and liabilities does change. Even if a firm grows, the amount of its current assets will increase and same goes for the current liabilities. SO, in accordance with this, a firm will have to increase the amount of its short term debt financing. If a firm s current assets decrease, then the amount of its short term debt financing and other current liabilities will decrease. Hence, this is called the size effect on short term debt and it leads to a direct relationship between a firm s current assets balance and short term debt financing. Furthermore, another source of change in a firm s short term debt financing may occur if we take ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many ways to compare and contrast these two pieces! Although Antigone and the Adjustment Bureau are completely different, there are many similarities that you can draw from the both of them. Not only can you relate both of theses pieces together using one motif, you can also relate the same motif to the real world and to the choices that you make! In Antigone, government and democracy played a huge role throughout the story! Creon is one that really relates to this motif! In the city of Thebes, the government was a form of democratic democracy. At the time, Creon was king! Throughout the story, Creon ruled as a dictator! His everyday choices depended on his governmentative standing! He used his power over the people in the city when making choices that he thought would be beneficial. He only listened to himself and he believed that every choice he made was right! Many different characters in the story tried to offer advice to Creon, when they realized that he was making irrational decisions, but he chose to ignore them and he continued along his own path. For example, Tiresias(who is a seer, and knows what s going to happen in the future) tried to warn Creon about what would happen at the rate Creon was going at! Tiresias tried to offer Creon advice and he told Creon that he really should take his advice, but Creon took this as an insult. Whenever someone told Creon what to do, he took it as an insult and he wouldn t listen to anyone, but himself. In the Adjustment Bureau, government and democracy arises right when the movie begins and is continued throughout the film. At the beginning of the movie, David was running for Congress! Due to this, he had to change his lifestyles and he had to be more cautious about the choices that he made. For example, at the beginning of the movie David s support system was weakened, because he got into a bar fight that went viral! • 26. Analysis Of The American Dream In Death Of A Salesman Death of Salesman is a story about an extremely hard working man, named Willy, and his family who are struggling in fulfilling their dreams. In Death of a Salesman, Willy has many conflicting feelings with his jobless son Biff. Throughout the story, Willy believes that success will come to him if he works the hardest he can and by being famous in the spectrum of business and jobs. Biff on the other hand realizes that this is not the way success is achieved and is more angered by his father s delusions towards this idea. In the end of the book, Willy starts to realize that Biff might be correct after all after Willy was fired from his job and decides to commit suicide as a result to get insurance money for Biff to start a business. Willy s unshakeable pride in this belief, also called The American Dream , ultimately led to his demise and most importantly his death. In Death of a Salesman, Arthur Miller uses an illusional tone, repetition, and idiomatic phrases to exemplify the idea that having excessive pride in a certain belief is going to ultimately lead to a person s demise. Arthur Miller uses an illusive tone throughout the story when Willy is discussing the success he had in his past. Although this tone makes it seem like Willy is being treated unjustly because of his previous successes that is not necessarily true. The quote, ... in 1928 I had a big year. I averaged a hundred and seventy dollars a week in commissions (Miller 82) , shows how Willy s belief that he has worked and accomplished too much to be fired by Howard. The statement Willy makes is actually false. In reality he was never this successful and in return shows that he is not that much worth to the firm. This creates an illusive tone because it shows a deceptive memory that was untrue and makes it seem like Willy is being unfairly treated, but in reality is just showing that Willy has too much pride in himself to the point that he remembers things that are untrue, thus alluding back to the purpose that having too much pride in a belief is going to ultimately lead to their demise. Another way Miller shows Willy s excessive pride is when Willy tries to emphasize the wonder of America by saying, ...and that s the wonder, the wonder of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Money is used for buying, giving, and having fun with it. Money is everything in today world, and not a lot of people have money so there chances of being happy is very unlikely. According to John Grohol Psy. D, a researcher and writes about mental health psychology and technology issues, states, Money can buy you happiness as long as you give some of the money away, or use it for an experience rather than buying a product because as you may not be aware of, recent studies have shown that we are generally happier when we spend money on experience (Grohol 1). To me money can buy you happiness because it changes our mood and how we feel because it s undeniable. I also concord with John when saying we should give some money away.
