Moral Codes
Morality defines us , human beings, by setting the principle for what is right or wrong. The aura
surrounding morality delineates our values and our ability to make critical decisions. Moral codes are
the values that shape us as unique people and they are values that one stands by. Without it, we would
have outlawed thoughts and order in the world dissipates. Like others, moral codes play a substantial
role in my life and they dictate the decisions I make in everyday life. Firstly, the idea that purging of
one s life is unjust is a tenet that I have a strong stance on. Despite the real world repercussions such
as prison and a death sentence, the reason that I believe in it is due to the barrage of guilt that I would
feel. Whether it be a criminal or a person who I despise, it doesn t vindicate the action of murder. In
the heat of a moment, words will be exchanged and tempers can spark but it should never reach that
extent. Taking alternative means and avoiding the confrontation should be the way forward although it
is a hard to come to terms with it. Furthermore, coming from a ... Show more content on

Honesty is the best policy and the fact is that the saying does resonate with us. As an individual, being
honest can spare you from self condemnation and sleepless nights. Reminisce to a day when you lied
to a person who was close to you and later realizing that you disowned that person. Recursive
contemplation kicks in and you come to the consensus that you have done wrong and that you regret
your decision. It creates a barrier between the two of you. On a spiritual level, there is a feeling of
disregarding our beliefs and that it is a sinful act. You wouldn t be able to come to terms with what
you have done and would come to the understanding that you haven t obliged in your spiritual duty as
a Christian. As a result, doubt starts to creep in about your values and whether you actually believe in

Martyrdom Of Saint Antonio Di Credi
At the Nelson Atkins Museum of art there are many different Art pieces from the Renaissance time
period. Of the collection 5 pieces grasped the attention (4 from the Renaissance and 1 from Baroque)
due to their style, subject matter, use of color, symbolism, figure placement, artist attention and
technics. The 5 pieces of artwork are Madonna and Child with the Infant Saint John the Baptist
(1510), Portrait of a Man (1620/21), The Martyrdom of Saint Lawrence, Christ and the Centurion, and
The Triumph of Bacchus. The Painting of Madonna with the two children by Lorenzo di Credi, shows
Madonna in a blue dress with a veil covering her face to show a sign of virginity and innocence with
two children. Di Credi worked alongside Leonardo Di Vinci, and in the painting Di Credi shows ...

In the 3rd century Christianity was outlawed and public executions such as Saint Lawrence s were
made public to spread a message. In the painting Girolamo tried to connect back to classical times by
using a oil pain which is dries slow and is flexible therefore allowing him to use Sfumato, which
allows the colors to gradually shade into each other, creating a classic look. He also uses a technique
that allows the focal point to be on Saint Lawrence by having the crowd look at Saint Lawrence being
grilled. In 1575 Paolo Caliari created the paint, Christ and the Centurion in Venezia, Italy. The image
depicted shows Christ converting Roman Centurion and shows the symbolism of Christianity to non
Jews. The painting shows a strict relief composition to show the classicizing Renaissance style during
the ages of Mannerism. Different details of the painting show a more contemporary style rather than
ancient roman patterns which is typically shown in the Italian

Pros And Cons Of Vertical Integration
The process of system of vertical integration is when a business attempts to gain control of the
upstream and downstream steps or firms in the supply chain (Zhou Wan, 2016). This strategy can offer
a business control over quality and create avenues to additional resources (Zhou Wan, 2016). With the
growing cost of content licensing and the increased capabilities for original cable television
programming to draw new viewers, Netflix has expanded into the original programming market and
added to its service (Ferrell and Hartline, 2014). This expansion of its services demonstrates the
company s readiness to seek new market opportunities (Ferrell Hartline, 2014). The company
projected the investment of $75 to $100 million in original programming to attract new viewers in
2012 (Ferrell Hartline, 2014). Thus, the company s ventures in original content have been well
received by subscribers with 79 Emmy nominations in three years (Grotta, 2015). The transition to
original content has been successful and the company has signed on for 16 new shows, 10 films, 30
children s programs, 12 documentaries and 10 stand up specials for 2016 (Grotta, 2015). Vertical
integration could present Netflix with the opportunities needed to take control of its supply chain,
expand original content, reduce its reliance on studio and television contracts, and possibly ownership
of its own distribution source (Ferrell Hartline, 2014). Below are some pros and cons for Netflix to
consider regarding vertical integration. Pros ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Accusations Of Witch Hunts In 16th Century Europe
During the 16th century, women started to become the subject of many harsh criminal allegations.
Accusations of witchcraft and persecution took over many parts of Europe, especially German and
French speaking lands. As widespread witch hunts began surfacing, the question of why they started
became prevalent. Europe began experiencing economic troubles in the early modern period, with
population saturation, food scarcity, and runaway inflation . As a result of this troubled society, a
scapegoat was needed to draw attention away from all of the troubles that Europe was facing. Lords
with political legitimacy as well as other people with authoritative roles, like the clergy, looked at this
idea of scapegoating as a way to protect their image and ensure that they remained in power. The high
levels of economic and political conflict in 16th century Europe led people in authority to draw
attention to easy targets, by accusing them of witchcraft.
Women were used as scapegoats in an attempt to take attention away from the issues in the economy
and politics. From the very beginning of witch hunts women were instantly seen as an easy target.
Fear of women who were able to use their words to curse and attack others were the fundamentals of a
large number of witchcraft accusations. It was believed that the witch trials took place in an attempt to
rid society of women. Due to population increase peasants income was drastically decreased.
Accusing women of witchcraft opened a

that husband and wife don t express their emotions for each other but in it doesn t mean they don t
have the emotions or feelings. Though they don t express themselves apparently, but they keep a
strong intimacy, attachment for each other which is beyond the limitation. But in the case of Mr. and
Mrs. Das, we see that they are quite frank, behave with their children like an elder brother and sister,
not like parents. On the apparent level they have great intimacy but as the story unfolds, it becomes
clear that they lack the emotional attachment especially from the side of Mrs. Das as she is suffering
from a guilt consciousness with which Mr. Das is completely unaware of. She even finds Mr. Kapasi
as a suitable person to talk about her past instead of her husband. Interestingly enough, the marriage of
Mr. and Mrs. Das was not an arrange marriage, rather Mrs. Das had fallen in love with Mr. Das at a

called a typical arranged marriage. Even Mrs. Das frankly talks to Mr. Kapasi about her sexual
relation with Mr. Das. This was quite unusual for a person like Mr. Kapasi, who has never seen his
wife naked. Even he does not approve the infidelity which Mrs. Das has committed though his own

Toni Morrison A Mercy Essay
Toni Morrison s novel, A Mercy, uses multiple point of views in order to show the growth of several
female characters. These characters include: Sorrow, Daughter Jane, Lina, Florens, and Rebekka, who
is also known as the Mistress . Morrison brings up the idea of overcoming male dependence, and
becoming strong independent women. It parallels with the idea of both slavery and freedom, and it
proves how common those concepts were in this New World that Morrison writes about. In all of
history, women have been belittled by men and seen as weak or powerless, but this novel shows the
great length women go in order to find this freedom and to survive in a patriarchal society. With the
many perspectives, it is as though when women are able to find ... Show more content on

Near Earth Object Essay
Topic #2: Near Earth Objects
Though not mentioned in the news and talks of society, near earth objects (NEOs) are an international
threat for countries worldwide. A NEO is a meteoroid, asteroid, or comet pushed by the gravitational
attraction of nearby planets, potentially entering the earth s orbit and thereby pose a danger of
collision. Space agencies around the world express the universal outlook that NEOs must be somehow
controlled or mitigated in their magnitude of impact. Austria, along with many countries, expresses
deep concern over this issue and is more than willing to participate in this world saving quest. As a

Aside from Austria s membership in the ESA, there is rapid advancements in technology within the
country, leading to its growing intention of joining SMPAG as an individual member in the near
future. In all ways possible, Austria devotes to the protection of Earth against NEOs.
In regards to the solutions for this issue, Austria welcomes the assistance of other countries and
recommends the development of a system to regulate the responsibilities of countries on such
problem. Austria believes countries should have the choice of applying for special status (or partial
special status), a request for help from the more technologically advanced member states. Larger and
more capable countries will be presumed as responsible for the NEOs affecting them if they choose
not to apply for assistance. The UN SPIDER is precisely the platform to use for the sharing of NEO
information and the distribution of responsibilities. Concerning the method for mitigation of NEOs,
Austria appreciates the efforts countries have placed into the many suggestions, but stands against the
use of nuclear power in the proposed blast detection method. In forms of health, the development of
nuclear technologies are associated with many health risks; the release of radiation, being one of the
most prominent dangers. Not to mention, the financial costs of nuclear power is a sum of many which

Intention And Relativism
Intention, Free will, and Moral relativism
Intention is the heart of every action. It puts value and meaning in our day to day action. In the two
main theory that we covered in class, morality of obligation and morality of Happiness, Intention is
central in both views. Intention help us evaluate our morality. It also comes under the bigger topic of
free action. In the book Mattison state, All free action is intentional, but not all intentional action is
free. (p. 48) I also hold this view because as long as we know what we are doing its intentional, but if
it is an action that is under duress than the action is not done with the free participation of the
individual. Free action is action where the individual understands the meaning and the ... Show more

I found moral relativism to be very interesting. I often hear some people saying statements like they
do not have the same value as ours. Most of the time what is impeded in this statement is that their
way of life and morality is better or superior than the others. I think you will find your answer when
you travel around the globe and meet people of many culture. You will see the goodness every culture
has. The father who is raising his daughters in refugee camps or the missionary that left her luxury life
to help the poor or the child who speaks with respect to his elders are all living a moral life. They may
not be all doing for the same reason, but I think it s just one coin but different sides. We humans long
for goodness. I will like to conclude my reflection with a verse from the Quran, We will ease him
toward ease. (Quran, 92:7) In this verse Allah is good action to be ease, and he will guide his servants
towards this ease, and by nature doing evil is hard. This concept agrees with Aristotelian view that the
happy life is what we all desire and want, and when we pursue evil we are acting against our personal
interest and it s indeed hard and most of the time we have to battle personal

Many complicated words are used and the reader needs to have a broad vocabulary to understand

descriptions and facts about symbols. An example would be That is, that the Grail story uses the
chalice as a metaphor of something else, something far more powerful . In this quote, Dan Brown
writes about metaphors but he is not using them. Instead, he chooses to describe the history of a
symbolic item that really is a metaphor for the real Holy Grail. This shows that Dan Brown focuses on

Langdon uses some metaphors to describe his view of the world. The narrator also uses a few similes

Naples, Italy is located in southern Europe along the coast, east of the Mediterranean Sea. Its
longitude and latitude are 40.8450° N and 14.2583° E, which means that Naples never gets directed
sunlight overhead any day throughout the year. Naples has an elevation of about 20 feet above sea
level. This is relatively low, and the city itself is close to the sea as well. This is kind of scary because
the sea levels keep rising, and in the future Naples could be submerged in water. Naples Italy also is

The system was developed by a German climatologist and a botanist Wladimir Koppen 1846 1940
who put the world s climates into several different major categories based on general temperature
related to latitude. The Koppen system classifies a location s climate mostly by using annual and
monthly temperature averages and precipitation.
Naples Climate Classification
Naples Italy s climate classification is a CSA. This climate is typical of places in the Mediterranean
area, this climate is a subtropical climate. The places around the Mediterranean Sea is where this
climate is mostly found. This climate is also found in southern Oregon and in most of California. It is
found in parts of Western and Southern Australia as well and in southwestern South Africa. Some
sections of Central Asia and central Chile are CSA too. This Climate has a dry and hot summer and a
rainy winter.
California and central Chile have the same Koppen classification with CSA. Both of the places are on
the western side of each of their continents. These places have the same climate throughout the year.
During the winter it rains but the summers in both places are always dry barely any rain, it is hard to
grow crops in the summer. There is also high pressure in all these places and when there is high
pressure there is less precipitation.

The Message In The Deserted Village By Oliver Goldsmith
Oliver Goldsmith wrote the poem The Deserted Village in protest against the social changes that he
witnessed during his travels around England. There are numerous quotes in the poem that encapsulate
the message that Goldsmith is trying to put across. The fictional village of Auburn has now become a
place where wealth accumulates, and men decay ; this is quite a disturbing image as it is now evident
that Auburn is no longer the beautiful and rustic village that it was before the introduction of the
Enclosure acts. The quote in question encapsulates the theme and is of extreme importance to ones
understanding of the work; it sums up the message and the argument that Goldsmith is trying to put

Goldsmith saw many incidents of rustic towns and beautiful countryside being completely destroyed
for the benefit of the wealthier community (Rowley 132). These incidents that he was witness to
inspired him to write The Deserted Village which is an extremely powerful and argumentative poem.
The village of Auburn has been ruined by depopulation and the peasants that have been forced out of
this small rural village have been left with no other choice but to flee to America in search of a better
and more comfortable life. This poem is also based on the arrival of wealthy landlords to England
with the intent to gain control of the poorer surrounding areas; it is clear from reading the poem that
Goldsmith was not in favour of the social changes that were in occurrence. The social changes that he
refers to are the Enclosure acts and indeed the early effects of the industrial revolution. Goldsmith
does not like the effects of enclosure on rural life, it is clear that he is passionate about old traditions
and does not like when they are altered and replaced by a way of life that is consumed by power and
wealth. Goldsmith strongly believes that all the wealthy people in the world are corrupt and this is
evident throughout this poem; he thinks the wealthier community are malevolent and that they do not

To sum up, the budgetary control system had its advantage of knowing in advance what was
happening in each department. While instead of improvement, budgetary control system adopted in
Ferguson Son Manufacturing Company had made the whole working process more worsened.
2. Explain how Ferguson Son Manufacturing Company s budgetary control system could be revised to
improve its effectiveness.
Budgetary control system is an essential management tool that communicates management s plans
throughout the organization, allocates resources, and coordinates activities. Besides, unwise system
can have the negative effects on the performance of the company. Thus, it is vital to develop a
compatible budgeting system which can assist managers in fulfilling long term goals and strategic
plans.
First, drawn from the situation of Ferguson Son Manufacturing Company, it is pointed out that
feasible targets play the first priority in designing the budgeting system. If the goal is too high as in
the case of Ferguson Son Manufacturing Company, then, in the following steps, the whole process
automatically gets into trouble. The company should be realistic when setting any benchmark among
the periods of manufacturing. The conditions of equipment, employees, orders, sales, and the
coordination among other departments should be taken into account to jump to the most suitable

Server Clustering Technology And Cloud Computing Essay
Introduction The current report focuses on Server Clustering Technology and Cloud Computing.
Server clustering and cloud computing are the latest technology used in the world widely. A cluster a
parallel or distributed system that consists of a collection of interconnected computer systems or
servers that is used as a single unified computing unit. Members of a cluster are referred to as nodes or
systems. The invention of Cloud computing has helped in ever faster and ever cheaper computa¬tion.
Analysis  Cluster A Cluster is defined as a group of independent server (nodes) in a computer
system, which are accessed and presented as a single system and in turn enables high availability and,
in few cases, cluster also plays important role in load balancing and parallel processing. Since it is
hard to predict the number of requests that will be allocated to a networked server, clustering also
plays vital role for load balancing to distribute processing and communications activity consistently
across a network system so that no particular server is overloaded. Server clusters can be used to make
sure that users have constant access to important server based resources. Types: Server clusters are of
three types, depending on how the nodes are connected to the devices that store the cluster
configuration and state data. It should be stored in a way that allows each active node to obtain the
data even if single or more nodes are down. The data that is stored on a resource, it is

Rites Of The Catholic Church
One of the most important sacraments of the Catholic Church is the Eucharist, also known as Holy
Communion. The Eucharist is not merely the consumption of bread and wine, but a sacrifice and meal
full of symbols, rituals, meaning and community involvement. To gain an understanding of the
Eucharist, it is important to first to look at the symbols, how they were started, then to see how the
Christian community enter into the mystery of the sacrament and what they believe.
Symbols
There are many symbols of the Eucharist, bread, wine, water, chalice
There is a real presence of Christ in the form of bread and wine. In the Eucharist, Christ is present in
the totality of His being. The Second Vatican Council proclaimed that the
Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life the source and summit of the Christian life
(Vatican II, Lumen Gentium, Dogmatic Constitution on the Church, paragraph 11),The real presence
of Christ in the Eucharist comes about through transubstantiation meaning to change on an in
perceivable level, we believe that bread and wine changes at a fundamental level have become the
body and blood of Christ as a result of our prayers to God. St Augustine s sermon 272 stated that for
what you see is simply bread and a cup this is the information your eyes report, but your faith
demands far subtler insight the bread if Christ s body and the cup is Christ s blood

you have brought food, or helped decorate this place, or just come to support the happy couple, thank
you. Secondly to the bridesmaids, you have done a magnificent job helping the bride today, and you
all look amazing, so a big thanks to you too. Finally Tom would like me to thank his beautiful new
wife for turning up today. I saw him this morning when he was worrying, and it wasn t a pretty sight.
He has asked me to tell you how happy you have made him by becoming his wife, something that I
am sure he will go into in more detail in his speech, but still, thank you. When Danny asked me to be
his best man, part of me was honored, part of me was terrified, but mostly I was laughing that he s
finally admitting what we ve known all along, that I am, in fact, better than him. Having never been a
best man before, I had to spend several hours surfing the Internet to try and find out exactly what my
duties would be. So apparently the most important thing I had to do was make sure Danny got to the
church on time, looking presentable, clean cut and sober. Some of you may have

Essay On The Growth Of Gold Nanoclusters
Abstract: In this article, a facile and rapid method was developed to synthesize intensely
photoluminescent catalytic gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) based on etching small citrate capped gold
nanoparticles using 4,6 dimethyl 2 pyridineselenol 3 caronitrile and 4 Methylquinolineselenol 3
carbonitrile as models for organoselenium compounds. The size and the catalytic performance of the
prepared fluorescent nanoclusters were characterized using suitable Transmission Electron
Microscope (TEM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry
(ESI MS) and photoluminescence techniques. It is shown that Au clusters with an average diameter of

In top down techniques, clusters are synthesized from larger nanoparticles or bulk metal. Etching of
nanoparticles using ligands (as thiols) is one of the most top down techniques can be used for the
synthesis of metal clusters. Removing the surface atoms or break the metal nanoparticles into smaller
clusters by using the etching capacity of such ligands will lead to synthesize stable quantum clusters.
For example, Habib et al. has used the etching of mercaptosuccinic acid protected gold nanoparticles
with excess glutathione to yield small photoluminescent gold clusters either with 8 or 25 gold atoms
[16]. Polyethylenimine as multivalent coordinating polymers can also be used to etch preformed
colloidal gold nanocrystals producing highly fluorescent nanoclusters [17]. it is well confirmed that
small noble metal nanoclusters display excellent catalytic activities such as aerobic oxidation of
thiophenol [18], propene epoxidation[19], oxidation of styrene [20], p nitrophenol reduction with
NaBH4 [21] and the reduction of methylene blue with hydrazine [22].
Organoselenium compounds are of considerable interest due to their wide efficiency and applicability
with numerous therapeutic applications [23]. In addition, the presence of a heterocyclic ring in these
compounds upgrades their properties to a great

story, how he demonstrates the values of ancient Greek society, and explaining his cultural
significance and how fate plays a big role.
King Acrisius was king of Argos. He had an amazingly beautiful daughter, but he wished deeply for a
son, so he prayed to the gods for them to give him a son. Apollo, the god of culture and prophecy, told
him that he will never have a son in all his days and that the son of his daughter will slay him. Acrisius
thinks of just killing his daughter,Danae, to prevent his prophecy, but fears of the punishment he will
receive from the gods for this act, so he instead locks his daughter in an entirely bronze house and
guards it closely. What he did not expect is for the king of the gods Zeus to come directly to his
daughter and impregnate her. From this comes a son named Perseus. When Acrisius learns of his
daughter s offspring, he puts both Perseus and Danae in a trunk and sets it off into the ocean. By luck
or by the will of Zeus Perseus and Danae wash up onto a small island, where a kind hearted fisherman
named Dictys takes in the two strangers. They live contently with Dictys until Dictys brother, King
Polydectes, fell in love with Danae. He decides to construe a plot to get rid of her son,Perseus, so that
he can have her. The plan he comes is to convince Perseus to go and slay the woman beast Medusa.
He thinks this feat impossible by a mortal man, because any man who lays eyes upon her turns to
stone. To aid him on his quest Hermes gives him a sword stronger than that of Medusa s scale. He also
told him he would need equipment from the nymphs of the north, who s location was unknown by all

Annotated Bibliography Of The Films Of Federico Fellini
Annotated Bibliography: How do French, Italian, Japanese, and Indian arthouse auteurist films affect
the development of New Hollywood auteur films. Bondanella, P. (2002). The Films of Federico
Fellini. Cambridge, UK: Cambridge University Press. The Films of Federico Fellini examines the
career and work of Italy s most revered filmmakers. By analyzing the masterpieces of Fellini, the book
attempts to categorize the influence of his work, and explain some of his interests in fantasy, the
irrational, and individualism. Bondanella essentially rejects more common ways of analyzing Fellini s
work and favors trying to explore the development of his unique and personal cinematic style.
Bondanella highlights some of the major accomplishments in the life of the renowned Italian
filmmaker. One of the most striking features of Bondanella work is his ability to tell the story of
Fellini by using the works of the filmmaker. In particular, Bondanella is able to draw on a new archive
of manuscripts, obtained from Fellini and his scriptwriters. This level of in depth analysis allows
researchers to get a detailed view of Fellini s work that has inspired generations of not only Italian
filmmakers, but also in the rest of the world. The author suggests that Fellini s use of realism in film
allows the audience to connect on a whole ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the question of who owns the rights to a film. Auteurism is the belief that the director is the sole author

The Effects Of The Various States Of Consciousness On...
Consciousness is the state or condition of being conscious. A sense of one s personal or collective
identity, especially the complex of attitudes, beliefs, and sensitivities held by or considered
characteristic of an individual or a group. There are several different stages of consciousness. Waking
consciousness, altered states of consciousness and sleep.
Waking consciousness is the mental state that includes moving and thinking, along with anything else

have a different effect on behavior, depending on the drugs potency and side effects. Alcohol is one of
the most widely used drugs there are. It s effects on behavior and personalities are known by most,
whether they abuse it, use it, or neither. Since alcohol is a depressant while being intoxicated, people s
response time, and decision making are effected strongly as the amount of alcohol taken in rises. At a
blood alcohol level of .05%, a person feels good and is a little less alert than normal. At .1%, a person
is slow to react and much less cautious. At .15%, a person s reaction time is much slower. At .2%, the
sensory motor skills are largely suppressed. At .25%, a person will most likely be staggering and have

process in the criminal justice system. The Prosecutor may ask the defendant for a guilty plea in

Many people are affected by the use of plea bargains in a positive way. For one defendants who could
be facing multiple charges and potential years in jail, has the potential to get multiple charges dropped
as well getting a significantly reduced sentence. In the judge s case, the advantage of accepting a plea
bargain agreement is that the judge does not need to schedule and hold a trial. Judges also know about
jails being overcrowded, so it is also in the public s interest to filter out the people who don t need to
be in jail for a long time out. The outcome of this process closes cases quicker than the expected pace
and also the court system would not be as overwhelmed with court cases. One of the major reasons
why people don t go to trial is because they realize receiving the maximum charge if they go to trial
will not be beneficial to them in the long run. Even those who are never rearrested, getting a charge
reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor can show to be a critical benefit. Some employers may

Essay on The Poetry of Robert Hayden
Although the majority of Robert Hayden s writings address racial themes and depicts events in African
American history, he also wrote short poems that capture his own personal experiences. Hayden has
an enormous amount of great poems and short stories, but as I read through many of them, I was
touched by two specific poems that I felt I could personally relate to. I chose these poems because I
am able to put myself into the story line and understand what the writer is talking about. I believe that
a good writer is able to reach any reader regardless of race, gender, or age. Hayden possessed an
incredible skill with his language and the structures of his poems that could almost pull the reader

The first thing I had learned about Hayden s style before I began reading his actual poems was that he
frequently used first person point of view. Many critics mimic the same thoughts when they discuss
how a large majority of his poems were based on his personal experience. He uses his recollection of
himself in relation to something else: other characters, different experiences, and even through works
of art. He tends to reflect back on numerous times of his childhood. They are clearly personal and
some almost seem biographical as he remembers his past and his family as he grew older. These
writing are not usually happy for him or easy to put on paper for everyone to see. They seem to bring
up pain, guilt, sorrow and a sense of suffering. His writings reflect what he feels on the inside: lost
identity, loneliness, and his longing need for attention.
In Those Winter Sundays Hayden tells a story about a son looking back at his father during his
childhood. The poem describes a father that through words doesn t necessarily show love or affection
towards his family. It captures the need of love from a distant father to his child. Through reading this
poem, it is discovered that the love the son was looking for was always present it was just
communicated more through the fathers efforts and less through the type of tenderness that is expected
from a child. He explains in small details his fathers suffering. The man

The Conflict And Conflict Management Strategies
Robbins and Judge define conflict as a process that begins when one party perceives another party has
or is about to negatively affect something that is cared about. There is a variety of conflicts that
individuals will encounter within their lives. Knowing and understating the conflict cycle and
understanding conflict management strategies will help individuals solve conflict in a reasonable
manner (Robbins Judge, 2014).
Discussing Contentious Issues/ Bringing Conflict into the Open When managers are faced with
discussing contentious issues or having to bring up conflict within their organizations, there are
several steps that they can take to ensure that all goes smoothly. A process should be put in place that
ensures that all individuals feel safe when bringing up ideas and thoughts. Managers must prepare and
plan for what might come their way. Goals and objectives of the discussion must be clear to all
involved. Goals should be put in writing and a range of potential outcomes should be shared (Robbins
Judge, 2014, p. 315 316). Next ground rules should be established. Grounds rules are a list of expected
behaviors that individuals must portray during a discussion/meeting. The following are a list of ground
rules that could be helpful when discussing contentious issues.
Don t interrupt
Give everyone equal time to speak
No outside interruptions (cell phones, etc.)

Red Meat Consumption Research Paper
Red Meat Consumption in the US
Introduction
With regards to flesh from mammals and/or fowl, red meat is the term used to refer to meat that is red
in color when raw. In contrast to white meat, which tends to be pale before and after cooking, red meat
remains red before cooking and does not turn pale when cooked. Despite a shift and increase in the
consumption of poultry, which is white meat, red meat is still the largest proportion of meat consumed
in the United States (58 percent). Although red meat is an important source of proteins as well as a
number of essential nutrients such as zinc and iron, recent reports have associated the consumption of
red meat with increased health risks to consumers. This paper will explore the trends in red meat
intake in the United States, health risks associated with the consumption of red meat, and thus provide
an explanation as to why turning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

cancer and CVD is yet to be established given that the different types of studies have been shown to

require more conclusive studies in future. However, given that no study has been able to disapprove
the notion that red meat can increase the risk of a variety of health concerns, it is recommended that
consumers reduce their consumption or red meat to at least prevent chances of developing these health
risks. According to experts, white meat obtained from such sources as chicken and fish can be used as
substitutes given that they have not been associated with these risks. However, they should also be
consumed in moderation. Consumers can also acquire proteins and other nutrients from such plant
foods as peas and beans among a variety of other

Spielvogel s Description Of The Huns In Ancient Rome
In the section, The later Roman Empire, I do not believe it to be reliable descriptions of the Huns. The
Huns are described in a very biased manner. They have squat bodies, strong limbs, and thick necks,
and are so prodigiously ugly and bent that they might be two legged animals.. (Spielvogel p.180). In
my opinion, this quote from the section describes how unfactual and biased the author s opinion is on
the Huns. Historians believe that his account of the Huns is largely based on stereotypes (Spielvogel p.
180). I completely agree with this statement from the book because the whole section seems to be one
big stereotype. In consequence they are ill fitted to fight on foot, and remain glued to their horses,

Ammianus Marcellinus referred to them as nasty, large, animal looking, beasts. He also referred to
them as filthy. Once they have put their necks in some dingy shirt they never take it off or change it till
it rots and falls to pieces from incessant wear (Spielvogel p.180). Ammianus described that they
dressed terribly and presented themselves hideously. On the other hand, Priscus accounted Attila, who
was a Hun, he was invited to Attila s for a banquet. The banquet was at Attila s palace, this makes it
seem that Attila was not very poor, and was in fact pretty wealthy. He goes on to express, A luxurious
meal, served on silver plate, had been made ready for us and the other guest, but Attila ate nothing but
meat on a wooden platter (Spielvogel p. 180). I think that this describes that Priscus thought highly of
Attila. Attila put the guests above himself, he served their food on nice dishes and silverware and gave
them great food to eat, while he himself ate only meat on a wooden platter. In my opinion, Priscus
viewed the Hun as a selfless person. In everything else, too, he showed himself temperate; his cup was
of wood, while to the guests were given goblets of gold and silver. His dress, too, was quite simple,
affecting only to be clean (Spielvogel p. 180). This helps to explain that Priscus also viewed the Hun
as clean and well put together. I think the fact that the Huns were good in combat, served others well,
and were large and strong would be impressive to and overawe the

  • 2. Moral Codes Morality defines us , human beings, by setting the principle for what is right or wrong. The aura surrounding morality delineates our values and our ability to make critical decisions. Moral codes are the values that shape us as unique people and they are values that one stands by. Without it, we would have outlawed thoughts and order in the world dissipates. Like others, moral codes play a substantial role in my life and they dictate the decisions I make in everyday life. Firstly, the idea that purging of one s life is unjust is a tenet that I have a strong stance on. Despite the real world repercussions such as prison and a death sentence, the reason that I believe in it is due to the barrage of guilt that I would feel. Whether it be a criminal or a person who I despise, it doesn t vindicate the action of murder. In the heat of a moment, words will be exchanged and tempers can spark but it should never reach that extent. Taking alternative means and avoiding the confrontation should be the way forward although it is a hard to come to terms with it. Furthermore, coming from a ... As an individual, being honest can spare you from self condemnation and sleepless nights. Recursive contemplation kicks in and you come to the consensus that you have done wrong and that you regret your decision. It creates a barrier between the two of you. On a spiritual level, there is a feeling of disregarding our beliefs and that it is a sinful act. You wouldn t be able to come to terms with what you have done and would come to the understanding that you haven t obliged in your spiritual duty as a Christian. In the 3rd century Christianity was outlawed and public executions such as Saint Lawrence s were made public to spread a message. In the painting Girolamo tried to connect back to classical times by using a oil pain which is dries slow and is flexible therefore allowing him to use Sfumato, which allows the colors to gradually shade into each other, creating a classic look. He also uses a technique that allows the focal point to be on Saint Lawrence by having the crowd look at Saint Lawrence being grilled. In 1575 Paolo Caliari created the paint, Christ and the Centurion in Venezia, Italy. The image depicted shows Christ converting Roman Centurion and shows the symbolism of Christianity to non Jews. The painting shows a strict relief composition to show the classicizing Renaissance style during the ages of Mannerism. • 5. Pros And Cons Of Vertical Integration The process of system of vertical integration is when a business attempts to gain control of the upstream and downstream steps or firms in the supply chain (Zhou Wan, 2016). This strategy can offer a business control over quality and create avenues to additional resources (Zhou Wan, 2016). With the growing cost of content licensing and the increased capabilities for original cable television programming to draw new viewers, Netflix has expanded into the original programming market and added to its service (Ferrell and Hartline, 2014). This expansion of its services demonstrates the company s readiness to seek new market opportunities (Ferrell Hartline, 2014). The company projected the investment of $75 to $100 million in original programming to attract new viewers in 2012 (Ferrell Hartline, 2014). Thus, the company s ventures in original content have been well received by subscribers with 79 Emmy nominations in three years (Grotta, 2015). The transition to original content has been successful and the company has signed on for 16 new shows, 10 films, 30 children s programs, 12 documentaries and 10 stand up specials for 2016 (Grotta, 2015). Vertical integration could present Netflix with the opportunities needed to take control of its supply chain, expand original content, reduce its reliance on studio and television contracts, and possibly ownership of its own distribution source (Ferrell Hartline, 2014). • 6. Accusations Of Witch Hunts In 16th Century Europe During the 16th century, women started to become the subject of many harsh criminal allegations. Accusations of witchcraft and persecution took over many parts of Europe, especially German and French speaking lands. As widespread witch hunts began surfacing, the question of why they started became prevalent. Europe began experiencing economic troubles in the early modern period, with population saturation, food scarcity, and runaway inflation . As a result of this troubled society, a scapegoat was needed to draw attention away from all of the troubles that Europe was facing. Lords with political legitimacy as well as other people with authoritative roles, like the clergy, looked at this idea of scapegoating as a way to protect their image and ensure that they remained in power. The high levels of economic and political conflict in 16th century Europe led people in authority to draw attention to easy targets, by accusing them of witchcraft. Women were used as scapegoats in an attempt to take attention away from the issues in the economy and politics. From the very beginning of witch hunts women were instantly seen as an easy target. Fear of women who were able to use their words to curse and attack others were the fundamentals of a large number of witchcraft accusations. It was believed that the witch trials took place in an attempt to rid society of women. Due to population increase peasants income was drastically decreased. Accusing women of witchcraft opened a ... In India, we see that husband and wife don t express their emotions for each other but in it doesn t mean they don t have the emotions or feelings. Though they don t express themselves apparently, but they keep a strong intimacy, attachment for each other which is beyond the limitation. But in the case of Mr. and Mrs. Das, we see that they are quite frank, behave with their children like an elder brother and sister, not like parents. On the apparent level they have great intimacy but as the story unfolds, it becomes clear that they lack the emotional attachment especially from the side of Mrs. Das as she is suffering from a guilt consciousness with which Mr. Das is completely unaware of. She even finds Mr. Kapasi as a suitable person to talk about her past instead of her husband. Interestingly enough, the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Das was not an arrange marriage, rather Mrs. Das had fallen in love with Mr. Das at a young age and later they got married with the permission of their respective families but it can t be called a typical arranged marriage. Even Mrs. Das frankly talks to Mr. Kapasi about her sexual relation with Mr. Das. This was quite unusual for a person like Mr. Kapasi, who has never seen his wife naked. These characters include: Sorrow, Daughter Jane, Lina, Florens, and Rebekka, who is also known as the Mistress . Morrison brings up the idea of overcoming male dependence, and becoming strong independent women. It parallels with the idea of both slavery and freedom, and it proves how common those concepts were in this New World that Morrison writes about. A NEO is a meteoroid, asteroid, or comet pushed by the gravitational attraction of nearby planets, potentially entering the earth s orbit and thereby pose a danger of collision. Space agencies around the world express the universal outlook that NEOs must be somehow controlled or mitigated in their magnitude of impact. Austria, along with many countries, expresses deep concern over this issue and is more than willing to participate in this world saving quest. Aside from Austria s membership in the ESA, there is rapid advancements in technology within the country, leading to its growing intention of joining SMPAG as an individual member in the near future. In all ways possible, Austria devotes to the protection of Earth against NEOs. In regards to the solutions for this issue, Austria welcomes the assistance of other countries and recommends the development of a system to regulate the responsibilities of countries on such problem. Austria believes countries should have the choice of applying for special status (or partial special status), a request for help from the more technologically advanced member states. Larger and more capable countries will be presumed as responsible for the NEOs affecting them if they choose not to apply for assistance. The UN SPIDER is precisely the platform to use for the sharing of NEO information and the distribution of responsibilities. Concerning the method for mitigation of NEOs, Austria appreciates the efforts countries have placed into the many suggestions, but stands against the use of nuclear power in the proposed blast detection method. In the two main theory that we covered in class, morality of obligation and morality of Happiness, Intention is central in both views. Intention help us evaluate our morality. It also comes under the bigger topic of free action. In the book Mattison state, All free action is intentional, but not all intentional action is free. (p. 48) I also hold this view because as long as we know what we are doing its intentional, but if it is an action that is under duress than the action is not done with the free participation of the individual. I often hear some people saying statements like they do not have the same value as ours. Most of the time what is impeded in this statement is that their way of life and morality is better or superior than the others. I think you will find your answer when you travel around the globe and meet people of many culture. You will see the goodness every culture has. The father who is raising his daughters in refugee camps or the missionary that left her luxury life to help the poor or the child who speaks with respect to his elders are all living a moral life. They may not be all doing for the same reason, but I think it s just one coin but different sides. We humans long for goodness. I will like to conclude my reflection with a verse from the Quran, We will ease him toward ease. (Quran, 92:7) In this verse Allah is good action to be ease, and he will guide his servants towards this ease, and by nature doing evil is hard. This concept agrees with Aristotelian view that the happy life is what we all desire and want, and when we pursue evil we are acting against our personal interest and it s indeed hard and most of the time we have to battle personal ... The Message In The Deserted Village By Oliver Goldsmith Oliver Goldsmith wrote the poem The Deserted Village in protest against the social changes that he witnessed during his travels around England. There are numerous quotes in the poem that encapsulate the message that Goldsmith is trying to put across. The fictional village of Auburn has now become a place where wealth accumulates, and men decay ; this is quite a disturbing image as it is now evident that Auburn is no longer the beautiful and rustic village that it was before the introduction of the Enclosure acts. Goldsmith saw many incidents of rustic towns and beautiful countryside being completely destroyed for the benefit of the wealthier community (Rowley 132). These incidents that he was witness to inspired him to write The Deserted Village which is an extremely powerful and argumentative poem. The village of Auburn has been ruined by depopulation and the peasants that have been forced out of this small rural village have been left with no other choice but to flee to America in search of a better and more comfortable life. This poem is also based on the arrival of wealthy landlords to England with the intent to gain control of the poorer surrounding areas; it is clear from reading the poem that Goldsmith was not in favour of the social changes that were in occurrence. The social changes that he refers to are the Enclosure acts and indeed the early effects of the industrial revolution. Goldsmith does not like the effects of enclosure on rural life, it is clear that he is passionate about old traditions and does not like when they are altered and replaced by a way of life that is consumed by power and wealth. Goldsmith strongly believes that all the wealthy people in the world are corrupt and this is evident throughout this poem; he thinks the wealthier community are malevolent and that they do not take the poorer people of England into ... Server clustering and cloud computing are the latest technology used in the world widely. A cluster a parallel or distributed system that consists of a collection of interconnected computer systems or servers that is used as a single unified computing unit. Members of a cluster are referred to as nodes or systems. The invention of Cloud computing has helped in ever faster and ever cheaper computa¬tion. Analysis  Cluster A Cluster is defined as a group of independent server (nodes) in a computer system, which are accessed and presented as a single system and in turn enables high availability and, in few cases, cluster also plays important role in load balancing and parallel processing. Since it is hard to predict the number of requests that will be allocated to a networked server, clustering also plays vital role for load balancing to distribute processing and communications activity consistently across a network system so that no particular server is overloaded. Server clusters can be used to make sure that users have constant access to important server based resources. Types: Server clusters are of three types, depending on how the nodes are connected to the devices that store the cluster configuration and state data. It should be stored in a way that allows each active node to obtain the data even if single or more nodes are down. The data that is stored on a resource, it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Etching of nanoparticles using ligands (as thiols) is one of the most top down techniques can be used for the synthesis of metal clusters. For example, Habib et al. has used the etching of mercaptosuccinic acid protected gold nanoparticles with excess glutathione to yield small photoluminescent gold clusters either with 8 or 25 gold atoms [16]. Polyethylenimine as multivalent coordinating polymers can also be used to etch preformed colloidal gold nanocrystals producing highly fluorescent nanoclusters [17]. it is well confirmed that small noble metal nanoclusters display excellent catalytic activities such as aerobic oxidation of thiophenol [18], propene epoxidation[19], oxidation of styrene [20], p nitrophenol reduction with NaBH4 [21] and the reduction of methylene blue with hydrazine [22]. Apollo, the god of culture and prophecy, told him that he will never have a son in all his days and that the son of his daughter will slay him. • 31. The Conflict And Conflict Management Strategies Robbins and Judge define conflict as a process that begins when one party perceives another party has or is about to negatively affect something that is cared about. There is a variety of conflicts that individuals will encounter within their lives. Knowing and understating the conflict cycle and understanding conflict management strategies will help individuals solve conflict in a reasonable manner (Robbins Judge, 2014). Discussing Contentious Issues/ Bringing Conflict into the Open When managers are faced with discussing contentious issues or having to bring up conflict within their organizations, there are several steps that they can take to ensure that all goes smoothly. A process should be put in place that ensures that all individuals feel safe when bringing up ideas and thoughts. Managers must prepare and plan for what might come their way. Goals and objectives of the discussion must be clear to all involved. Goals should be put in writing and a range of potential outcomes should be shared (Robbins Judge, 2014, p. 315 316). Next ground rules should be established. Grounds rules are a list of expected behaviors that individuals must portray during a discussion/meeting. The following are a list of ground rules that could be helpful when discussing contentious issues. Don t interrupt Give everyone equal time to speak No outside interruptions (cell phones, etc.) Be respectful of other people s opinions Address the issue, don t attack the ... • 33. Red Meat Consumption Research Paper Red Meat Consumption in the US Introduction With regards to flesh from mammals and/or fowl, red meat is the term used to refer to meat that is red in color when raw. In contrast to white meat, which tends to be pale before and after cooking, red meat remains red before cooking and does not turn pale when cooked. Despite a shift and increase in the consumption of poultry, which is white meat, red meat is still the largest proportion of meat consumed in the United States (58 percent). Although red meat is an important source of proteins as well as a number of essential nutrients such as zinc and iron, recent reports have associated the consumption of red meat with increased health risks to consumers. This paper will explore the trends in red meat intake in the United States, health risks associated with the consumption of red meat, and thus provide an explanation as to why turning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the link between the consumption of red meat and various health risks including colon cancer and CVD is yet to be established given that the different types of studies have been shown to contradict each other. The future of red meat consumption is therefore still a debatable issue that will require more conclusive studies in future. However, given that no study has been able to disapprove the notion that red meat can increase the risk of a variety of health concerns, it is recommended that consumers reduce their consumption or red meat to at least prevent chances of developing these health risks. According to experts, white meat obtained from such sources as chicken and fish can be used as substitutes given that they have not been associated with these risks. However, they should also be consumed in moderation. Consumers can also acquire proteins and other nutrients from such plant foods as peas and beans among a variety of other ... • 34. Spielvogel s Description Of The Huns In Ancient Rome In the section, The later Roman Empire, I do not believe it to be reliable descriptions of the Huns. The Huns are described in a very biased manner. They have squat bodies, strong limbs, and thick necks, and are so prodigiously ugly and bent that they might be two legged animals.. (Spielvogel p.180). In my opinion, this quote from the section describes how unfactual and biased the author s opinion is on the Huns. Historians believe that his account of the Huns is largely based on stereotypes (Spielvogel p. 180). I completely agree with this statement from the book because the whole section seems to be one big stereotype. In consequence they are ill fitted to fight on foot, and remain glued to their horses, hardy but ugly beasts, on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ammianus Marcellinus referred to them as nasty, large, animal looking, beasts. He also referred to them as filthy. Once they have put their necks in some dingy shirt they never take it off or change it till it rots and falls to pieces from incessant wear (Spielvogel p.180). Ammianus described that they dressed terribly and presented themselves hideously. On the other hand, Priscus accounted Attila, who was a Hun, he was invited to Attila s for a banquet. The banquet was at Attila s palace, this makes it seem that Attila was not very poor, and was in fact pretty wealthy. He goes on to express, A luxurious meal, served on silver plate, had been made ready for us and the other guest, but Attila ate nothing but meat on a wooden platter (Spielvogel p. 180). I think that this describes that Priscus thought highly of Attila. Attila put the guests above himself, he served their food on nice dishes and silverware and gave them great food to eat, while he himself ate only meat on a wooden platter. In my opinion, Priscus viewed the Hun as a selfless person. In everything else, too, he showed himself temperate; his cup was of wood, while to the guests were given goblets of gold and silver. His dress, too, was quite simple, affecting only to be clean (Spielvogel p. 180). This helps to explain that Priscus also viewed the Hun as clean and well put together. I think the fact that the Huns were good in combat, served others well, and were large and strong would be impressive to and overawe the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
