The common fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster is often regarded as the model organism for genetic testing due
to many factors such as its short reproductive cycle, its similarities to humans, or the ease of tracking
mutations in Drosophila melanogaster. The Drosophila melanogaster is used to model diseases such as Cancer,
Diabetes, and Huntington s Disease. By studying the changes in how the proteins interact, the origin of such
disease can be found providing a deeper understanding of how to cure these fatal ailments.
Since Drosophila melanogaster is 70% similar to the human genome mutation in humans can easily be
replicated in the flies. Due to their short lifespan, the Drosophila melanogaster allow for the progression of the
mutations to occur rapidly and allow tracing of the mutation into subsequent generations. Drosophila
melanogaster generally has a phenotypic change associated with mutated genes that control the coding of
certain proteins.
A mutation in the cinnabar gene, which causes the ocelli to become colorless and the eyes to become a bright

No one can be certain whether nature or nurture is the cause for criminal behavior. However, research has
stated that it is more often an interaction between genes and the environment that predicts criminal behavior
(Jones, 2005). Through a biological perspective, it is determined that criminal behavior is due to genetics
and/or neurological conducts. It concludes that criminals are born due to their criminal traits being passed
down through genetic or chromosomal mutation. Another explanation of criminal behavior within the
biological perspective are the neurochemicals within our brains and body. There many regulated chemicals in
the brain that determines thought process, perception and action. Like the arguments for genetic and
chromosomal mutation, any abnormal anomalies or chemical imbalance can heavily impact behavior (Schram,
2018). This goes for any damages to some parts of the brain that controls emotions, reason and logic.

It does not come out and say where the two main places, Hanoi and Saigon, are actually located. Lawrence
often refers to them as those names throughout his study and never puts a North or South Vietnam with it for
clarification. Although, Lawrence does include a map of Vietnam and the surrounding territories on page 12, a
reader could be lost on who is who by this point in the book. Another point that readers could get mildly
confused on is when Lawrence refers to Vietnam as different names. For example, over time, they hoped,
aggressive search and destroy operations would inflict casualties more quickly than North Vietnam and the
NLF could replace their losses, thus forcing the communists to seek peace on American terms, (Lawrence,
102). Lawrence never explained the NLF, National Liberation Front, and what it means or whom it represents.
Lawrence also used Vietcong regularly throughout his study. For instance, Vietcong, a contraction of the term
for Vietnamese communist, Lawrence does not really explain why he calls it Vietcong throughout the book
(Lawrence, 65). Lawrence could have explained whom this term was more directly used for or why it was

Theater was always something that I admired and wanted to get involved with, but I never did. Noises Off is
the second play I ve ever attended in my entire life. Watching this play and analyzing it has made me gain so
much respect for the people that work hard to make plays happen. In the following sections I will discuss the
general plot of the play. I will describe the characters and who they are. I will also talk about the set, lighting,
dialogue, music, and other aspects of the theater. First, let s introduce the characters. Noises Off, is a play

In this essay I will address the ways in which mainstream schooling is culturally bound, and why this is a
problem for those who have disabilities. Mainstream schools can be determined as a school of traditional
education or a normal school (Spielgaben, 2015). This categorises mainstream schools within New Zealand as
schools of English medium that follow the New Zealand Curriculum and are state schools. These English
medium schools work with the National Standards system which set specific expectations for students to have
met in the key learning areas of reading, writing and mathematics (Ministry of Education, 2012). This system

defines culturally bound as restricted in character or outlook by belonging or referring to a particular culture.

that most often teachers in these schools do not have the time, resources or skills to teach the diversity of

This can be true for a lot of fictional stories, while writing this type of literature an author must have previous
background information or experiences to create a story. Tim O Brien wrote a compelling novel that kept you
in awe about whether or not the story could be a true experience or if it s just a crazy story he devised.
O Brien casts doubt on the veracity of the story to let you experience what the war felt like for him. When him
and his fellow soldiers would sit around the campfire telling stories some where obviously made up for
entertainment while others actually were authentic. This is how you have to view the book as like you are
there with the troops listening to these war stories and deciding for yourself whether or not you believe them.
The underlying theme isn t really the vietnam war in itself, its the act of storytelling.
One example of when the author causes us to be unsure of the truth is when he talks about the vietnamese man
he killed. Then we find out that it wasn t O Briens fault from Kiowa to leave us in an even more confused
state. He wrote this because he wanted to describe to us that even if he didn t kill the man, it felt like he was
responsible, because in a way he felt like the mysterious man was him. This particular event increases our
understanding of the story because this is what it felt like to be in the war. You would blame yourself for the
death of a fellow soldier or imagine your own self dead.
