Analysis Of `` Killing Us Softly 4 `` By Jean Kilbourne
Whether we realize it or not, we are constantly surrounded by advertisements. On average, we are
exposed to approximately 3,000 ads per day, through logos, billboards, and television commercials,
even our choices of brands. But in today s society, one of the most used and influential tools of
advertising are women. But the unfortunate thing is that women are not just viewed as actresses in
these ads but as objects for people to look at, use, abuse, and more. In her fourth installment in a line
of documentaries, Killing Us Softly 4, Jean Kilbourne explains the influence of advertising women
and popular culture, and its relationship to gender violence, sexism and racism, and eating disorders.
For women, advertising exemplifies the ideal female body. According to Kilbourne, young girls are
taught from a very early age that they need to spend lots of time and money to achieve this physical
perfection. But realistically this cannot be achieved. The ideal woman s body is Caucasian, very
skinny, big breasts, no flaws, and pretty much no pores. This cannot be achieved because it is
physically impossible to look like this; the illusion comes from the secret world of Photoshop. No
woman is beautiful enough so they leave it to technology to create perfection. The supermodel Cindy
Crawford said, I wish I looked like Cindy Crawford! She knew the realities of Photoshop and body
image, and more women and girls need to become aware of this as well. Kilbourne uses the example

Informative Essay Courage
Informative Essay: Courage What feeling emerges in our hearts when we hear the word Courage ?
Profound respect, fear, regards or may be...nothing. This word has a long history and its starting point
is from the Latin word coraticum. The root cor signifies heart . Recently, after the world entered
English through French it was finished with an English suffix age, which denotes action or the
consequence of action. So actually it signifies an action that originates from a heart, or strictly
speaking it is a respectable action. The topic of this essay is the explanation of the contemporary
definition of courage . In what sense is this word utilized by contemporary individuals? The primary
explanation of the use of this term is to portray individuals who have a quality of thinking that permits
them to face risk without apprehension, which is likewise alluded to as fearlessness or daring. The
definitions of this word are various; however since the world around us changes, the definitions
change as well. For example, if I discuss the autonomy of word I can define courage as the individual
s strength to express what he thinks on this case . In this essay, I am going to tell that how society or
the dictionary defines the word courage and then I will explore my new and intriguing definition of
courage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That implies that the definition is distinctive relying upon the culture s area and its person s beliefs.
The definition for courage, as characterized by Daniel Webster seems to be that quality of mind or
spirit enabling one to meet danger or difficulties/ opposition with firmness/fearlessness. The words
that make courage a related term are risk and resistance. Also, the dictionary definition of courage is
the mental energy to overcome fear and confront threat or resistance or other unfriendly perimeter,

Critic And Stigmatisms In Kate Chopin s The Awakening
Critics and Stigmatisms
It was not necessary for a writer of so great refinement and poetic grace to enter the overworked field
of sex fiction , reviews following Chopin s literary awakening, (The Chicago Times Herald 1). The
Awakening contains brilliant images, resilient protagonists, and vulgar sexuality. Kate Chopin utilizes
potent imagery and burning sexual passion as character motives to transcend Edna Pontellier from
social restrictions. A mold so bleak in nature that its oppressive grasp extends far beyond any one
generation. The Awakening centers the main protagonists as individuals with complex desirers beyond
generic characters. Chopin s The Awakening challenged the pseudo personas that society condemned
the protagonist to uphold.
The sensational appetite of Chopin s characters peeked into the feminine mentality. Upon the release
of The Awakening, the St. Louis Globe Democrat, rightly so, noticed the amoral actions of Edna
Pontellier. Stating It is not a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Video Game Console Market Essay
Five Forces Analysis
Threat of New Entry When it comes to entering the video game console market there are a lot of costs
that are incurred. This limits the amount of competition that is coming in from an outside source.
Microsoft spent over 100 million dollars on research and development alone for the Xbox one
controller (Ron, 2013). This is a huge cost that new companies usually cannot absorb when first
starting out. There is also a huge cost difference from new producers and long standing producers due
to experience and the economies of scale that the top companies have. The last factor that really deters
companies from entering the console game is the fierce brand loyalty that inhabits the video game
market. Most consumers once they pick a side stick to it, this can span as far back as childhood. On
release the PlayStation 4 had better specs then the Xbox One, and yet 42% of previous Xbox owners
choose the Xbox One over the PlayStation 4 (Sakraida, 2014).
Competition
In the gaming industry competition comes from every direction. The most commonly thought of
outside sources of competition are the PC industry and mobile gaming industry. The television movie
and television industry are also competing to fill the entertainment void in people s lives. That being
said the competition we will be looking at is between the top two producers of gaming consoles, Sony
and Microsoft. Sony and Microsoft with their PlayStation and Xbox consoles respectively have very

Evaluating A Clinical Microsystem Utilizing The...
The intention of this paper is to analyze a clinical microsystem utilizing the microsystems guide and
the 5Ps (see Appendix A). The microsystem is a behavioral health pilot program with the organization
Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF). First, the purpose of the microsystem will be discussed and
then move on to describe the patient population. Next, will be a discussion of the professionals
working in the system. Following this, I will review the process of delivering care to patients and the
patterns within the system. Lastly, the paper will explore areas the microsystem could improve to
better serve the patient population. Purpose The integrated behavioral health pilot program is quite
new and different from other behavioral health models. Prior to the program, there was no behavioral
health services located with PAMF, which is serving the needs of 97,000 patients. As primary care
struggled with this, a group offered PAMF a grant and the primary care providers (PCPs) wanted a
behavioral health team. PAMF formed a team and they spent a year researching behavioral health
models. They then developed our current model that was adapted from many different models found
in research. The purpose of the model was to improve access to quality mental health services through
supporting PCPs in meeting their patient s behavioral health needs. Patient Population Age and

Advantages Of Zoos
Animals are everywhere. Even if you don t notice them, they are there. Animals are very popular and
one of the reasons why they are beloved is because of zoos. Zoos are great places for animals to live
and a great place for people to learn. Zoos allow kids and adults to explore the little world of creatures
that live a similar life. Zoos are a lot safer place for the animals to live than the woods or the public.
People destroy animals habitats and wipe out their health. When people leave trash by animals
habitats the animals think that it is a special food delivery and try to eat your trash, now that can cause
health problems for the port little animals now do you want that, probably not. and neither do zoos so
that s one of the reasons why zoos are here in the present.
Zoos are very effective in some ways and they aren t in other ways, but zoos affect people and you
probably don t think it s going to make any difference if zoos just go away but to humans there will be
an effect. Zoos are one of the best places to learn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Zoos give animals the opportunity to live a longer life than they probably would in the woods, the
public, or the forest where there is predators in every nook and cranny. Zoos also treat their animals
with kindness and love rather more than the public does. Zoos also give animals a cage or a domain so
the animals can have their own space and doesn t have to share their home with other animals but that
doesn t mean zoos don t let the animals family members live or go in the same cage or domain as them
cause they do. Zoos also walk their animals around or let them go in a more open and fun space to
relax and to explore the new places they can go. Now also zoos give animals toys to play so there not

Racial Discrimination And Diversity In Division I Football
Over the years, the United States has been considered a melting pot of nationalities and ethnicities, but
from the beginning, the white race has perceived themselves as a superior race, enforcing their power
over other races through slavery and racial segregation. Today, we believe that the United States has
made leaps and bounds toward total racial equality. We see evidence of this in the workplace, schools,
and athletics, but there are still some problems that need to be addressed. Therefore, I am writing to
you to inform you as NCAA president of the standing of the NCAA and its diversity of head coaches
in Division I football. This memo seeks to explore the idea that minorities are not fairly represented or
retained in Collegiate level head coaching positions. I will demonstrate this by showing racial
demographics, head coach position retention, assistant coach to head coach retention studies, football
position correlation to coaching positions, and social aspects.
Racial Demographics
The NCAA has made noticeable progress toward racial equality in the ratio of black to white players
in Division I football. In 2008, black athletes only made up about 36 percent of the student athlete
population in Division I football, while in the 2017 season, 39 percent of football players are black
(NCAA). If you do not include historically black colleges and universities, you see that blacks take
over whites from 46 percent on 2008 to 52 percent in 2017. All demographic data is from

Lizzie Borden Took An Axe
Lizzie Borden took an axe... Or did she?
Hello, this is my opinion on Lizzie, although the poem says she took an axe, what was John doing, the
maid, and sister? The maid was the only person in the house besides Lizzie and Abbi. Did they set up
the murders? John was out of town, suspiciously, and the sister was out with a friend. The father was
running errands. Lizzie had an attorney and claimed Lizzie was sleeping during the murders. And if
these people did associate with Lizzie, why, they as much to gain as anyone? Did Andrew choose
,favorites? Was Abbi a bad mother? We may never know.
My last thing to say about Lizzie, is why did she kill her parents? Lizzie had nothing to gain by killed
her parents, so why? If killing her parents did nothing she must have had a different plan. Maybe
Lizzie wanted mental comfort, or revenge on something that may have happened when she was a
child. The house was 300,000 dollars in total estate, which 8 million dollars in modern society. Due to
this Lizzie may have wanted to sell the house, but she remained living in the Borden family house

Lizzie Borden is said to have taken the axe, what if someone else gave her mother forty whacks?
Bridget the maid was right outside of the bedroom window during the murders, it was a hot summer
day so I suspect the windows were open. Bridget could have reached in through the windows and
killed Abbi, but, where did the axe come from? The murder weapon could have been a meat
tenderizer, I say this because the only other weapon in the house they could ve had that would equal to
the axe would be a meat tenderizer.

The Differences in Health Traditions Between Cultures
The Differences in Health Traditions between Cultures
Each individual has an exclusively cultural heritage attachment that is comprised of a lot of different
customs and values. It is almost impossible for anyone or group of people to live everyday by not
practicing according to their beliefs or cultural background. Being born to a person depending on
whom they are or where they live means so much in some cultures. For example, I was born into a
family where my parents were both educated and good practicing Catholics. This automatically puts
me in a middle class family or made my statues a little higher than so many people whose parents are
not educated. I consider myself fortunate and that is mostly why I am always humble in life.

Earlier this week, I took the liberty of interviewing a few close friends of mine in order to receive an
insight on their different cultural backgrounds. Being a nurse, I work in a very diverse community so
the results I received were very normal. The first family I interviewed was Filipino and I was very
interested to find out how they dealt with health and illness, culturally speaking. During our interview,
I quickly learned that in the Philippines many people believe that certain illnesses are believed to have
a natural origin. This did not come as abnormal. The Philippine tradition has been influenced by
Indians, Chinese, Arabians, Spanish, Mexicans and American belief systems (Poces Poces, 2004). In
addition, it is a common belief that illness is caused by spiritual as well as moral imbalances. In order
to combat these diseases, their custom called for the use of three types of healing: faith healing
through prayer, herbal medicines and massaging the body. Additionally, food is an important aspect as
well. Every night, I would prepare garlic and onion soup for my grandparents in order to make sure
their blood pressure was under control (M. Sampaga, personal communication, August 16, 2011). As
you can see, with different cultures comes different customs and there is no exception for health
traditions.
My next interview was with a Mexican family that I have known since

as well as all interactions and exchanges between Europeans and native Polynesian peoples of the
Pacific while Cook was exploring the islands of Hawaii and after has been investigated by
anthropologists and historians for many years. Captain Cook died at the hand of Polynesian natives

Director Jane Campion places a motif throughout her film The Piano that is preoccupied by power
struggles between males and females and European colonists and indigenous people. The Prospero
syndrome is seen in attitudes of the Europeans regarding their belief that European culture, ideology,
and religious practices are the only standards of behavior deemed acceptable for human beings,
women in particular. The piano then becomes a symbol for the taboos that are placed on the Europeans
and their lives. The character of Ada is placed at the center of a struggle between a male character who
fully embodies the Kurtz persona with tattoos, close friendships with the Maori, and uninhibited
sexual overtures, and one who clings to English ways. Harvey Keitel portrays this character, named
Baines, while Sam Neill plays his foil. The character of Stewart embodies the Prospero persona by
maintaining an ever present businesslike relationship with the Maori and punishing those who
transgress his code of conduct. The punishment of Flora, Ada s daughter for misbehaving and
simulating her mother s sexual behavior and of Ada herself for loving Baines while conducting and
affair at he same time with Stewart himself places a black mark

Methods to Reduce Air Pollution Essay
Methods to Reduce Air Pollution
Air pollution is nothing new. Ever since the discovery of fire, less than desirable substances have been
vented into the air. One of the first air pollution regulations dates back to the fourteenth century, when
King Edward I banned the burning of sea coal in lime kilns. U.S. air pollution regulations have their
roots in British Common Law. But regardless of those efforts, air pollution continues to be a serious
local and world wide problem. Pollution is the pressure within the air of one or more substances that
are harmful to human health, welfare, animal or plant life, or property. In the past with air pollution
we included mainly the outdoor pollutants, although in recent years this is not the case. ... Show more

Dorothea Dix’s Effects on Asylum Reform, the Civil War,...
Dorothea Lynde Dix is a famous woman in history that has been commemorated for her many helpful
contributions to the world. Throughout her life span, she singlehandedly bestowed her assistance to
individuals, states, and even full countries. She is known for many small, well rounded triumphs but
when summed up, all equate to a large portion of kind, beneficial deeds and charitable works.
Dorothea Dix left an impact on the world through her efforts of sharing her teachings with others, the
treatment and care of the mentally ill, and with her nursing in the Union army. When Dix was at the
young age of fourteen in 1821, through the encouragement of her family, she created an academy for
wealthy adolescent children. In order to make her teaching even more privileged, Dix studied
astronomy, mineralogy, and the natural sciences for two years (Buckmaster 5). Once her first school
took off, she created another. The second school that Dix conducted was for poor children who could
not afford to go to anywhere else. Because of her strict ways of teaching and her passion for her work,
both of Dix s schools became very popular and victorious ( Dorothea Lynde Dix , Encyclopedia of
World Biography). Her ways of teaching helped many students benefit intellectually. When Dix s poor
health became distracting to her instructional career, she was forced to take breaks from teaching.
During these breaks, Dix spent her time writing books ( Dorothea Lynde Dix , History.com). Since

effort to provide a standardized design language to build and develop computer applications. The
purpose of the design language is to allow IT professionals to distribute system structure and design

important part of software projects, large and small. With modeling, the software development team

The use case diagram s purpose is to help development teams visualize the functional requirements of
a system, including the relationship of actors (human beings who will interact with the system) to
essential processes, as well as the relationships among different use cases. The class diagram shows
how the different entities (people, things, and data) relate to each other. The Sequence diagrams is
almost self explanatory, it shows a detailed flow for a specific use case or even just part of a specific
use case. The statechart diagram models the different states that a class can be in and how that class
transitions from state to state. Activity diagrams show the procedural flow of control between two or
more class objects while processing an activity. A component diagram provides a physical view of the
system. Its purpose is to show the dependencies that the software has on the other software
components (e.g., software libraries) in the system. The deployment diagram shows how a system will
be physically deployed in the hardware environment. Its purpose is to show where the different
components of the system will physically run and how they will communicate with each other. Two
main criticisms of UML is whether diagrams are needed at all, and during what stage of the software
development process they should be used, also, the frequency of any updates of the diagrams. The
other is that the UML diagrams just lack the detail

Enhanced oxidative stress and changes in antioxidant capacity, found in both clinical and experimental
diabetes, are thought to be the main cause of chronic diabetic complications, in particular at a
microvascular level (Moussa 2008). Excessively high levels of free radicals cause damage to vital
cellular components such as proteins, membrane lipids, and nucleic acids, and finally lead to cell
death (Maritim, Sanders Watkins 2003). The formation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs), is
another factor to be considered in diabetes type 2 microvascular nephropathy (Motawi et al., 2013).
Interaction of AGEs with their cellular receptors (RAGE) has an important role in the pathogenesis of
diabetic complications via enhanced expression of adhesion molecules, including vascular cell
adhesion molecule 1 (VCAM 1), and intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM 1), both markers of
vascular injury (Motawi et al., 2013). Motawi et al. (2013) advanced the hypothesis that tight
glycemic control may restore plasma levels of sRAGE, VCAM 1 and oxidative stress parameters near
the normal level in type 2 diabetic patients, reported as a decoy receptor for AGEs. Motawi et al.
(2003) demonstrated that poor glycemic control decreases plasma sRAGE and increases VCAM 1
levels while good glycemic control improves these abnormalities which provides benefit to diabetic
patients. Many other studies (Nakamura et al., 2008;

dominance that says certain alleles are dominant and others are recessive. To show this, we are using
tobacco seeds, a monohybrid cross comparing only one trait color. We are also showing Mendel s law
of segregation with a Dihybrid cross comparing two traits of color and texture. Introduction Three
purposes: 1. To predict the genetic frequency off offspring. 2. To predict the outcomes of genetic
crosses using punnett squares. 3. Statistically analyze the results of a genetic cross. Hypothesis: 1.

The Problem Of Climate Change
There are millions of planets that has the possibility to sustain life on a planet, but not a single one we
know of like earth. fermi paradox says there are things called life barriers and there are certain barriers
that have filters . filters only let the smartest lifeforms through them if they are real. They state
electricity and earth or ourselves evolution are huge barriers that was destroyed. If an asteroid hit the
earth or nuclear warfare happens it is a huge reason we have lost. According to the fermi paradox we
either pass this wall (barrier) or not. I have my conclusion of why we will fail, it is because humans
are selfish, hard headed, fool mined incompetent beings. Climate change is the barrier that we don t
really have any research on. El ninos and la ninas are the cause. To know El Niño, you need to know
the intercoarse between the ocean and the atmosphere. Warm ocean surface water currents heats and
adds moistness to the air above it, forming a low pressure system. Cool surface water cools the air
above it, forming a high pressure system . In a Low, the warm, moist air produces tropical
thunderstorms. In a High, cool, parched air sinks back to the surface and there is no precipitation.
Together, the High and Low create a circulation pattern in which surface winds blow toward the Low
and higher level winds rushes toward the High. An El nino come from the spanish word little boy. It
was found by fisherman by the coast of south america in the 1600s

they needed and always gave back. The settlers that came thought they were smarter and more
advanced than the natives, and viewed the natives as being inferior. In reality it was the exact

In the book Buffalo Jones Forty Years of Adventure written by Charles Jones, Jones describes the
Plain Indians as, The most tenacious of life than any race I have ever encountered. The Plain Natives
consisting primarily of Blackfoot, Arapaho, Cheyenne, Crow, Kiowa, Lakota, saw the bison a sacred
animal because it provided almost everything they needed to survive. A good bison kill would weigh
about 2,000 pounds, 800 pounds of which was good to eat. The natives could use the bladder and
stomach to store water and keep meet fresh, the hides were used as cover for teepees and the various
bones as weapons. The Plain Natives believed that the bison were created by the Great Spirit for the
soul purpose of keeping their tribes alive, making them cherish the bison as a literal life line. In Jones
s book, Jones depicts his encounter with Chief Big Indian of the Cheyenne tribe. In this way when
Jones shows Chief Big Indian where a herd of bison was, Chief Big Indian was ecstatic with
excitement, and signaled the rest of his hunters that he had found a herd. Within half an hour, 100
Indians came from miles away to the signaled spot. Every able bodied man from the tribe was out
hunting for bison. This shows how important the bison were for the natives. When a single herd of
bison was sighted it was so important that every man in the tribe would leave their wives and children
at risk to hunt down the herd. During the mid 1800 s, the American frontiersmen were

The Prediction Of Fullerene Structure
Fullerene was first recorded in a Japanese article, Kagaku, written by Eiji Osawa in 1970 which stated
the prediction on the existence of C60 compound [1]. In the following year, a conjecture on the
stability of C60 was established by Osawa and Yoshida where the aromatic characteristic of C60 was
described further. The stability was further better explained when the Hückel s calculation method was
applied and introduced to the icosahedron structure of C60 by Bochvar and Gal pern [2]. The
prediction of fullerene structure was discussed based on graphite balloon speculation made by David
Jones using pseudonym of Daedalus in a journal, The Scientist [3]. This speculation was essentially
describing the gas phase carbon cluster in the form of geodesic cages which is applied to giant
fullerenes compound [2].
Fullerenes can be described as closely packed carbon cages hold in rings of, most commonly,
hexagons and pentagons with sp2 hydridised carbons. In some larger structure with more than 100
carbons, heptagonal rings may present. A large numbered fullerene will require larger cage to obtain
the most least steric angle between the bonds and the structure might have a surface of concaved [4].
Figure 1 and Figure 2 show the cage structures of fullerenes C60 and C70. Both of these fullerenes are
the most stable fullerene with more planar and larger nearly spherical structure and have higher
thermodynamic stability with positive enthalpy change of formation, ∆H_f [4]. Figure 1:

The Evolution Of Advertising And Advertising
The Evolution of Advertising
THE EVOLUTION OF ADVERTISING
Advertisements are a huge part of our everyday lives. We see different types of ads everywhere we
look; while watching television, listening to the radio, riding on the bus and even walking around your
school campus. It seems like the whole world is being flooded by advertisements.
Advertising techniques have changed and along with it, the impact they have on each individual s
mind. While there are some similarities between the different kinds of advertisements we see today,
there are also many differences. Advertising has also become more unethical than it was in, let s say,
the 50s. Not all advertisements are brainless; there are a few that are even creative and fun and just
pull the target audience in by entertaining them while selling them a product.
The techniques companies use to sell their products have changed so much in the past 50 years. Every
company has to adapt to the changing times. An example of this is that in the 1950s, companies had to
find a way to appeal mostly to stay at home wives because they were the ones who were home all day
listening to the radio while doing chores or watching the commercials between their soaps. In the
1970s advertisements had to change and find some way to appeal to an increasing amount of feminists
while alluring homemakers also. They have to go along with the changes. In 1994, a new form of
advertising and getting products and services into the world was discovered:

The Rise Of Mass Democracy
Chapter 13
The Rise of Mass Democracy
I. The Corrupt Bargain of 1824
i. After the Era of Good Feelings, politics was transformed. The big winner of this transformation was
the common man. Specifically, the common white man as universal white manhood suffrage (all white
men could vote) became the norm. ii. In the election of 1824, there were four towering candidates:
Andrew Jackson of Tennessee, Henry
Clay of Kentucky, William H. Crawford of Georgia, and John Q. Adams of Massachusetts.
1. All four called themselves Republicans.
2. Three were a favorite son of their respective region but Clay thought of himself as a national figure
(he was Speaker of the House and author of the American System ). iii. In the results, Jackson got the
most popular votes and the most electoral votes, but he failed to get the majority in the Electoral
College. Adams came in second in both, while Crawford was fourth in the popular vote but third in the
electoral votes. Clay was 4th in the electoral vote. iv. By the 12th Amendment, the top three electoral
vote getters would be voted upon in the House of
Reps. and the majority (over 50%) would be elected president.
v. Clay was eliminated, but he was the Speaker of the House, and since Crawford had recently
suffered a paralytic stroke and Clay hated Jackson, he threw his support behind John Q. Adams,
helping him become president.
1. When Clay was appointed Secretary of the State, the traditional stepping stone to the presidency,

Distance Learning Disadvantages
Looking at All Sides Distance learning is an emerging method of learning. Everyone can learn in
every time at any location as long as they can access to Internet. I use distance learning as well.
During the last summer vacation, I began to study how to play guitar by myself through some videos
which is posted on the Internet by some professional guitarists. Now I have gotten the first level guitar
certificate. The distance learning help me a lot. However, some people think distance learning is
useless compared with traditional classroom. Though people have various opinions based on their
experience, social roles and information from others, I still believe it is necessary to look at all sizes
because it can strengthen our own opinions and reduce misunderstanding. Some of parents question
about distance learning. They think distance learning is useless because it does not have supervisors
like teachers. Students may be distracted by the relaxing environment at home and do not finish their
homework on time. At the same time, some teachers also point out that distance learning is not as
efficient as classroom because it cannot have a discussion and participation with peers and teachers.
Without other students, they may lose the passion about study. What is more, Communication with
others also an important lesson to students. By contrast, other students and office workers believe that
distance learning can also be flexible for them. They can learn wherever

Anxiety Sufferers
Many of us anxiety sufferers have been so anxious for so long that we really have no idea of any other
kind of life. Some of us will think that feeling constantly anxious, sweating, afraid, and nervous about
everything is the way that we were meant to live and that things can be no other way. Some of us even
try to convince ourselves that we are the only ones who feel this way, while others try to convince
themselves that everyone feels this level of anxiety.
But, fortunately, there is another way to feel and to live life, no matter how hard we want to believe
otherwise. Confidence is the name of the feeling that is at the opposite extreme of anxious. Many of us
have only felt this feeling for but a few fleeting moments, while others have not experienced it for
years. Being anxious means that we are afraid of perceived threats or of failing, however that failure
might look like to us. Physical symptoms that we experience when are anxious can vary widely and
can include sweating, tingling, or shaking, to name a few. However, those of us who have managed to
grow past some of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Is it possible to be confident and relaxed most of the time, or all of the time? The answer to this
question is relative, in my opinion. Some people may be happy with occasional confidence, while still
being anxious in most situations. Others are happy to be confident in certain situations that enable one
to enhance the quality of his or her life, situations such as one on one interpersonal interactions, being
able to go out in public, or perhaps being able to drive a car. Others like me, who are idealists, want to
completely eliminate that anxious feeling in all situations. Is this a realistic goal? The answer is
probably no. But, if one continues to pursue complete relaxation as a goal, then one will notice that
anxiety in many other situations reduces or eliminates entirely while pursuing this

Howard Zinn s Historian As Citizen
To Howard Zinn, history is no more than a looking glass for historians to see what needs to change in
the modern world. Zinn explains how historians should see the past and the future in his 1966 essay
Historian as Citizen . He begins by stating that historians cling too tightly to the patterns of the past
and are wrong in using them as a guide to the future. He says, This necessariness of the past tends to
infect our thinking about the future, weighing down our disposition to act (Zinn 44). Already, Zinn
makes a broad statement that counters the aged ways of historians everywhere. He is asking them to
let go of history. This is offputting to some but it is his strong voice that makes his philosophy so
grand.
Now that he has captivated his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Zinn writes, Both history and art should instruct us. The crucial thing is to reveal the relationship
between evil and ourselves. This makes it enormously useful to show how Hitler could emerge out of
a boy playing in a field (Zinn 49). Zinn is not saying that history is not important. He is saying that it
should not be seen as irrevocable facts and instead viewed as art. We view art as up for interpretation,
insightful, and inspiring. Zinn is simply offering that we do the same with history. As previously
stated, the past gives us understanding of the roots of evil. Using our history in this way is a
tremendous tool, as Zinn demonstrates with the innocent boy to Hitler example. A problem with this
argument is that humans are not easily willing to admit to their mistakes. When the United States
defines to Soviet sphere as totalitarian and the West as free, it becomes difficult for Americans to see
totalitarian elements in our society, and liberal elements in Soviet society (Zinn 49). Nations,
especially the United States, get so wrapped up in patriotism that they refuse to see the flaws in their
systems and the perks of others. So, even if Zinn s thesis of self criticism was more popular, it is
unrealistic that anyone would actually accept

handspring there was no definitive answer. Hawkins Business model seemed more like a question.
How do you make an exciting product that s pushing the envelope in some ways, but on the other
hand is usable and accessible to a very broad populace? (Barnett, 2000). Hawkins had a business
model that relied on strategic partners to perform business tasks such as manufacturing and
distribution. Hawkins strategy is to generate ideas to promote increased efficiency and cost reduction

handheld device you can imagine, from a pager to an MP3 player to a global positioning satellite
receiver, simply by replacing a small module on its back (Time, Inc., 2005). Leadership Successful
leaders continuously show connections between vision and strategies. Mr. Hawkins exhibits many
leadership qualities that inspire confidence and belief in the future. Jeff is able to articulate a vision

Process Of Making Pepperoni Rolls

enjoyable when they re fresh out of the oven. Pepperoni rolls are quite easy to make, with the right
amount of patience. Several steps are involved in the process of making pepperoni rolls. Six basic
steps will allow you to achieve delicious, golden pepperoni rolls. To begin with, you must gather all of
your ingredients. In order to achieve a batch of 10 12 pepperoni rolls, you will need: One seven ounce
bag of pepperoni, One sixteen ounce bag of mozzarella cheese, One quarter ounce packet of active dry

Next, you will carefully prepare the dough. In the large bowl with your yeast mixture, add one half
cup milk, one half cup water, one teaspoon salt, one quarter cup sugar, one teaspoon garlic salt, and
mix. You will gradually add flour (approximately two cups) to this mixture. Then, you will thoroughly
wash your hands, and briefly knead the dough. You will begin forming the dough into a soft ball. It is
important that you do not knead the dough too much, as it will become too tough to eat. In a new
bowl, you will measure a quarter cup olive oil, and transfer your dough mixture. Make sure that you
have enough olive oil to cover the entire ball of dough. As you continue, you will allow the dough to
rise. This can be somewhat tricky, unless you have a proofer. Otherwise, you will fill a large pot full of
water, and bring it to a boil. Once the water starts boiling, you will reduce the heat to a simmer. Then,
you will cover your bowl of dough with plastic wrap, and place on a cookie rack above the simmering
pot of water. It is important that you keep a careful eye on this step. You don t want the bottom of your
dough mixture to begin cooking, so repositioning the dough is necessary. Leave the dough above the
simmering water until it has doubled in size, making sure it doesn t begin to cook. Toward the end,
you will begin preparing the pepperoni rolls. Preheat your oven to approximately 375°F. Divide the

The Insurgency Of Innovative Gadgets Essay
The insurgency of innovative gadgets began another time on January 27, 2010. At that day, Steve Jobs,
at an Apple occasion, made that big appearance and uncovered a standout amongst the most intense
disclosures of his life. Despite the fact that, the Mac had been presented in business sectors decades
prior, and a couple of years after the fact it was trailed by the IPhone, Jobs, at that day and on a similar

which would fill the crevice in the middle of those two gadgets. The new gadget, keeping in mind the

surly shoddy portable workstations that have low quality showcases with moderate processors. He
likewise portrayed netbooks as they were worse at anything for they were awkward old PC software.

Comparison Of Feminism In The Arabian Nights
Dasha Kofman
Arabian Nights Paper
11/14/17
Abstract
In my paper I will discuss how Sharazade s role as a woman allows her to act as an advocate for
female empowerment, through literature and storytelling. Initially, I will focus on the feminist role of
Sharazade and how she is placed within her circumstances: 1001 nights of storytelling to the King to
spare her life and the masses of woman after her. I will then go on to examine how Sharazade
champions the case of feminine within her tales. She does so by intertwining female characters of
power and intelligence. I will then go on to examine how women are viewed within the story, from
slaves to warriors. Finally, I will take both Sharazades perception of feminism and how they are
viewed within the story to examine their value within the story s setting, and the greater world.
Sharazade reveals the harsh truth behind how women are portrayed in literature and the intensity in
which they are finalized. She is allowing us to understand that women can not be placed under an
umbrella term, but rather are distinct individuals who play in the structure of society both good and
bad. Although they are portrayed as such, women aren t just women but are first and foremost, people.
Shahrazad: Icon of Feminism
The Arabian Nights also known as One Thousand and One Nights is a tale about Shahryar whom the
reader refers to as the Sasanian king. Shahrazade, the heroine of The Arabian Nights, has been noted
as a women s activist figure in literature, a woman who utilizes her intelligence to spare not only her
own life, but the lives of women to come. In the frame story, King Shahriyar find out that his wife is
committing adultery. The king then begins to order for virgins to satisfy his sexual pleasures and kill
them before they commit the same atrocities. Every night for three years, he took a virgin to his bed
and then killed her in the morning. When the virgins run out, the daughter offers herself and the tales
of 1001 Nights begins; These tales often criticized by many people who argue that women are not
tools to satisfy a man s pleasures. Her plan is simple yet cunning she uses stories of thrill and marvel
to keep herself alive as long as it takes to save the

Miles Davis, Miles. Davis
Biography of Miles Davis
Miles Dewey Davis the Third was a musician; composer; genius. Davis wrote a large portion of the
music he played and he did not care what people thought about his music. Do not fear mistakes, there
are none. (Miles Davis 29). The amount of skill Davis must have had to keep on creating new,
original, different music is far beyond many people. Davis is one of the main contributing factors to
change jazz. He, alone, has made his own style, the Cool Jazz genre (Karl Scarborough 26). Davis is
surely one of the reasons I believe jazz is here to stay for a long time, and Davis thought so too. In
Davis life, he has done many great things and experienced some good things as well as some bad
things. Davis is a man whom, one might say, has seen in all. Even his childhood was different than
most people born in the 20s and 30s.
Davis was born the 26th of May, 1926 in Alton Illinois (John Szwed 13). Davis has one sister,

That All Required Debts Are Paid Correctly The most important task that many probate lawyers can
help you with is ensuring that all the required debts are paid correctly by the estate. For example, the
probate lawyer can look at the various types of debts that were left behind by the estate and ensure that
not only are the required debts paid but that they will be paid in the right order. This is important
because there can be a number of fines and penalties that can be assessed if you paid the wrong debt
before someone who held a higher priority debt or if you begin paying other debts before paying the
estate taxes. However, determining who has priority over who when it comes to paying these debts
can be extremely tricky as they can vary quite a bit depending on your area, so it is always best to

their expectations if they do not have a good support system. McKinstry states that educators often
lack specialized skills to address severe behavior and learning challenges and that the time to handle
those issues doesn t exist; which will result in the students having little to no help. I personally agree
with Richard Rothstein, the achievement gap cannot be closed without the collaboration of outside
groups. Teachers cannot close the achievement gap on their own, if they could then I think the
achievement gap would be closed by now. So, being that the achievement gap is not closed, it shows
that teachers being high quality educators is not the

Sexting Among Teenage Girls and Boys
Over the last few years, there has been a lot of discussion and debate over the topic of sexting. It has
become a widespread phenomenon, the number of teenage girls and boys, men and women who
participate are rapidly increasing, and with this too comes the rise of moral panic within societies.
Individuals within the communities are becoming more and more fearful, afraid and shocked at this
new form of youth culture hysteria. Although young people expressing their sexuality has become
much more open and free as of the last decade or so, the real uproar of panic is due to the risks they
involving themselves in as well as the damage and harm they are inflicting on themselves, whether
they know it or not.
Sexting is the act of sending, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And this is what is key to the moral panic of sexting, constant over exaggeration. As stated before the
technology and means to sext have always been available, so why now is there such anxiety and fear
towards sexting? A reason as to why this may be so, is because of the number of teens who have
committed suicide over leaked sexts. One of the most infamous cases of suicide related to this issue is
of 18 year old Jesse Logan who was mercilessly harassed at the hands of her peers. She was dating a
19 year old boy and had sent him nude pictures of herself. However after they broke up, he sent those
photos to another girl who then sent them to others and soon the whole school knew about it and had
seen the photos. From there is where the severe bullying started. On the Today show Jesse s friend,
Lauren Taylor told NBC News about some of the abuse which was inflicted upon Jessie Logan. She
says When she would come to school, she would always hear, Oh, that s the girl who sent the picture.
She s just a whore . Her mother Cynthia Logan said that She was being attacked and tortured . Even
through the bullying Jesse Logan made the decision to appear on a tv station to tell her story and make
sure no one else makes the same mistake. After enduring further harassment and abuse, Jesse was
finally able to graduate and looked to move on with her life. But after attending the funeral of one of
her friends the following year who had committed

Causes And Effects Of The Third Crusade Of The Three Kings
Effects of the Third Crusade
Ayush Soota
May 12th 2015
B4
The Third Crusade, also known as the Crusade of the Three Kings, was led by King Richard the
Lionheart of England, Holy Roman Emperor Barbarossa of Germany and King Philip II of France.
The Third Crusade was born out of a catastrophe for Christendom. This crusade was to prevent the
Muslim armies from ruling over Jerusalem and to crush the Kurdish emperor Saladin so that he could
not take any more land from the Crusaders. The Third crusade was to reclaim the Holy Land from the
Muslims. It was also caused because after capturing the Christian held coastal ports and Jerusalem in
1187, Saladin invaded Syria in 1188 and took one Crusader castle after another and captured the city
of Latakia. The Third Crusade were two campaigns which were the Siege of Acre and the Battle of

The Christians were exhausted, demoralized and suffering badly from thirst in the Middle Eastern
summer heat
On September 2, 1192 Richard and Saladin signed a treaty where Jerusalem would remain under
Muslim control, but also allowed unarmed Christian pilgrims to enter the city. The failure to conquer
the Holy Land would lead to the Fourth Crusade six years later in 1192.
Thus, the main reasons for the Third Crusade was the loss of Jerusalem and the the loss of Crusader
castles in Outremer that were the County of Tripoli and the Principality of Antioch
The effects of the Third Crusade were the weakening of Monarchies, territorial changes and conflicts

Waiting for Godot
Waiting For Godot By Samuel Beckett Nothing happens. Nobody comes, nobody goes. It s awful.
How far do you agree? Initially written in French in 1948 as En Attendant Godot , Samuel Beckett s
play was first staged in 1952, in Paris. It represents one of the most important movements of the
twentieth century and is an example of the so called Theatre of the Absurd , which had subsequently
inspired numerous plays that were based on the idea of an illogical universe. The plot of the play is
fairly simple and is, in fact, purely a development of its title. Its description is rather ambiguous, for
while one may think that no action whatsoever takes place throughout the play, another might suppose
otherwise. Principally, the story includes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They now lead a meaningless life (as meaningless as their constant exclamations and unsuccessful
conversations), losing track of time and memory, passing time, existing: Estragon: We always find
something, eh Didi, to give us the impression we exist? They merely exist, breathe, walk and eat. All
these verbs are included in the play, for they give us the illusion of reality on the stage. However, far
from that, the vagabonds are simply emblems of despair. These religious beliefs prevail in the play,
placing faith under the spotlight of doubt. It is a scandalous topic, but it is presented in a somewhat
naive manner: Estragon and Vladimir themselves hardly known what Christianity is; they consider the
Biblical story an anecdote, for they know nothing of it. Beckett seems to doubt the necessity of
religion without the basic knowledge of biblical myths, which, in our days, is a highly common
occurrence. Nonetheless both Estragon and Vladimir believe in the existence of Godot, whose prophet
descended seven skies to deliver a message. They do question his identity and distrust his facelessness
and Estragon at times is ready to quit the worthless act of waiting, but scolded by Vladimir, remains
immobile. Estragon: I cannot seem to depart. Estragon can see the logic of renouncing this lifestyle
clearly, but neither can do it

Relationship Between Yeats And Nietzsche
Abstract: W.B.Yeats has certainly not suffered lack of critical attention, but the Yeats Nietzsche
connection has not been dealt with fully. Yeats s later work can, more accurately be read and
understood in the light of Nietzsche s role in the development of Yeats s thought. Yeats s connection
with Nietzsche is not simply a matter of literary influence; both of them are united by a common
philosophic temperament and way of understanding the world. This paper is an attempt to study the
influence that Nietzsche had upon Yeats, and what made it possible: the underlying kinship of a
similar disposition. Key Words: Disposition, Existence, Imagination, Influence, Kinship, Philosophy,
Tragedy. INTRODUCTION: The question of influence among writers ... Show more content on

Essay On Diabetic Alert Dogs
The use of Diabetic Alert Dogs to manage blood sugar levels in Type 1 Diabetic Children 13,000
children and adolescents are diagnosed annually with type 1 diabetes. Traditional care and
management for this disease includes insulin therapy and blood sugar monitoring. One of the dangers
associated with disease is hypoglycemia most commonly referred to as low blood sugar. To date 1 in 3
of the individuals diagnosed with type 1 diabetes will die from an undetected low blood sugar, mostly
resulting from hypoglycemia unawareness while the child and caregiver is sleeping. The use of a scent
trained service dog has prevented the loss of life for many diabetic individuals. Diabetic Alert Dogs
are trained to detect fluctuating blood sugars ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The training also includes a constant alert until the appropriate action is taken to correct blood sugar
levels whether it be drinking juice to correct a low or injecting insulin to correct a high. In the event
that the child is unconscious the alert dog will find the caregiver to help. This is extremely beneficial
in nocturnal hours when most low glucose levels go unnoticed and can result in death. The use
Diabetic Alert Dogs result in less hypo and hyper glycemic events. While children and their caregivers
can become distracted, an alert dog is always in scenting mode. Diabetic Alert Dogs provide greater
control over blood sugar levels, resulting in fewer complications associated with type 1 diabetes.
Since these dogs are trained to alert up to 45 minutes prior to a low or high blood sugar level, severe
episodes of hypo and hyperglycemia can be reduced and eventually eliminated. This translates into
fewer hospital admissions, diabetic comas and fatalities. The fact that the blood sugar level
fluctuations are recognized at start of fluctuation provides the caregiver an opportunity to respond
quickly with correct the child s blood sugar levels. The A1C numbers of children who have a Diabetic
Alert Dog in the home are typically on the lower range. This makes them less susceptible to long term
complications such as kidney failure, diabetic rhinopathy, glaucoma and diabetic ketoacidosis. The

  • 2. Analysis Of `` Killing Us Softly 4 `` By Jean Kilbourne Whether we realize it or not, we are constantly surrounded by advertisements. On average, we are exposed to approximately 3,000 ads per day, through logos, billboards, and television commercials, even our choices of brands. But in today s society, one of the most used and influential tools of advertising are women. But the unfortunate thing is that women are not just viewed as actresses in these ads but as objects for people to look at, use, abuse, and more. In her fourth installment in a line of documentaries, Killing Us Softly 4, Jean Kilbourne explains the influence of advertising women and popular culture, and its relationship to gender violence, sexism and racism, and eating disorders. For women, advertising exemplifies the ideal female body. According to Kilbourne, young girls are taught from a very early age that they need to spend lots of time and money to achieve this physical perfection. But realistically this cannot be achieved. The ideal woman s body is Caucasian, very skinny, big breasts, no flaws, and pretty much no pores. This cannot be achieved because it is physically impossible to look like this; the illusion comes from the secret world of Photoshop. No woman is beautiful enough so they leave it to technology to create perfection. The supermodel Cindy Crawford said, I wish I looked like Cindy Crawford! She knew the realities of Photoshop and body image, and more women and girls need to become aware of this as well. Kilbourne uses the example of Ana ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Critic And Stigmatisms In Kate Chopin s The Awakening Critics and Stigmatisms It was not necessary for a writer of so great refinement and poetic grace to enter the overworked field of sex fiction , reviews following Chopin s literary awakening, (The Chicago Times Herald 1). The Awakening contains brilliant images, resilient protagonists, and vulgar sexuality. Kate Chopin utilizes potent imagery and burning sexual passion as character motives to transcend Edna Pontellier from social restrictions. A mold so bleak in nature that its oppressive grasp extends far beyond any one generation. The Awakening centers the main protagonists as individuals with complex desirers beyond generic characters. Chopin s The Awakening challenged the pseudo personas that society condemned the protagonist to uphold. The sensational appetite of Chopin s characters peeked into the feminine mentality. • 5. Analysis Of The Video Game Console Market Essay Five Forces Analysis Threat of New Entry When it comes to entering the video game console market there are a lot of costs that are incurred. This limits the amount of competition that is coming in from an outside source. Microsoft spent over 100 million dollars on research and development alone for the Xbox one controller (Ron, 2013). This is a huge cost that new companies usually cannot absorb when first starting out. There is also a huge cost difference from new producers and long standing producers due to experience and the economies of scale that the top companies have. The last factor that really deters companies from entering the console game is the fierce brand loyalty that inhabits the video game market. Most consumers once they pick a side stick to it, this can span as far back as childhood. On release the PlayStation 4 had better specs then the Xbox One, and yet 42% of previous Xbox owners choose the Xbox One over the PlayStation 4 (Sakraida, 2014). Competition In the gaming industry competition comes from every direction. The most commonly thought of outside sources of competition are the PC industry and mobile gaming industry. The television movie and television industry are also competing to fill the entertainment void in people s lives. That being said the competition we will be looking at is between the top two producers of gaming consoles, Sony and Microsoft. • 6. Evaluating A Clinical Microsystem Utilizing The... The intention of this paper is to analyze a clinical microsystem utilizing the microsystems guide and the 5Ps (see Appendix A). The microsystem is a behavioral health pilot program with the organization Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF). First, the purpose of the microsystem will be discussed and then move on to describe the patient population. Next, will be a discussion of the professionals working in the system. Following this, I will review the process of delivering care to patients and the patterns within the system. Lastly, the paper will explore areas the microsystem could improve to better serve the patient population. Purpose The integrated behavioral health pilot program is quite new and different from other behavioral health models. Prior to the program, there was no behavioral health services located with PAMF, which is serving the needs of 97,000 patients. As primary care struggled with this, a group offered PAMF a grant and the primary care providers (PCPs) wanted a behavioral health team. PAMF formed a team and they spent a year researching behavioral health models. They then developed our current model that was adapted from many different models found in research. The purpose of the model was to improve access to quality mental health services through supporting PCPs in meeting their patient s behavioral health needs. Zoos are great places for animals to live and a great place for people to learn. Zoos allow kids and adults to explore the little world of creatures that live a similar life. • 8. Racial Discrimination And Diversity In Division I Football Over the years, the United States has been considered a melting pot of nationalities and ethnicities, but from the beginning, the white race has perceived themselves as a superior race, enforcing their power over other races through slavery and racial segregation. Today, we believe that the United States has made leaps and bounds toward total racial equality. We see evidence of this in the workplace, schools, and athletics, but there are still some problems that need to be addressed. Therefore, I am writing to you to inform you as NCAA president of the standing of the NCAA and its diversity of head coaches in Division I football. This memo seeks to explore the idea that minorities are not fairly represented or retained in Collegiate level head coaching positions. I will demonstrate this by showing racial demographics, head coach position retention, assistant coach to head coach retention studies, football position correlation to coaching positions, and social aspects. Racial Demographics The NCAA has made noticeable progress toward racial equality in the ratio of black to white players in Division I football. In 2008, black athletes only made up about 36 percent of the student athlete population in Division I football, while in the 2017 season, 39 percent of football players are black (NCAA). If you do not include historically black colleges and universities, you see that blacks take over whites from 46 percent on 2008 to 52 percent in 2017. All demographic data is from ... It is almost impossible for anyone or group of people to live everyday by not practicing according to their beliefs or cultural background. Being born to a person depending on whom they are or where they live means so much in some cultures. For example, I was born into a family where my parents were both educated and good practicing Catholics. During our interview, I quickly learned that in the Philippines many people believe that certain illnesses are believed to have a natural origin. This did not come as abnormal. The Philippine tradition has been influenced by Indians, Chinese, Arabians, Spanish, Mexicans and American belief systems (Poces Poces, 2004). In addition, it is a common belief that illness is caused by spiritual as well as moral imbalances. In order to combat these diseases, their custom called for the use of three types of healing: faith healing through prayer, herbal medicines and massaging the body. Additionally, food is an important aspect as well. Every night, I would prepare garlic and onion soup for my grandparents in order to make sure their blood pressure was under control (M. The piano then becomes a symbol for the taboos that are placed on the Europeans and their lives. Ever since the discovery of fire, less than desirable substances have been vented into the air. One of the first air pollution regulations dates back to the fourteenth century, when King Edward I banned the burning of sea coal in lime kilns. U.S. air pollution regulations have their roots in British Common Law. But regardless of those efforts, air pollution continues to be a serious local and world wide problem. Throughout her life span, she singlehandedly bestowed her assistance to individuals, states, and even full countries. She is known for many small, well rounded triumphs but when summed up, all equate to a large portion of kind, beneficial deeds and charitable works. Dorothea Dix left an impact on the world through her efforts of sharing her teachings with others, the treatment and care of the mentally ill, and with her nursing in the Union army. When Dix was at the young age of fourteen in 1821, through the encouragement of her family, she created an academy for wealthy adolescent children. In order to make her teaching even more privileged, Dix studied astronomy, mineralogy, and the natural sciences for two years (Buckmaster 5). Once her first school took off, she created another. The second school that Dix conducted was for poor children who could not afford to go to anywhere else. Because of her strict ways of teaching and her passion for her work, both of Dix s schools became very popular and victorious ( Dorothea Lynde Dix , Encyclopedia of World Biography). Her ways of teaching helped many students benefit intellectually. When Dix s poor health became distracting to her instructional career, she was forced to take breaks from teaching. Enhanced oxidative stress and changes in antioxidant capacity, found in both clinical and experimental diabetes, are thought to be the main cause of chronic diabetic complications, in particular at a microvascular level (Moussa 2008). Excessively high levels of free radicals cause damage to vital cellular components such as proteins, membrane lipids, and nucleic acids, and finally lead to cell death (Maritim, Sanders Watkins 2003). The formation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs), is another factor to be considered in diabetes type 2 microvascular nephropathy (Motawi et al., 2013). Interaction of AGEs with their cellular receptors (RAGE) has an important role in the pathogenesis of diabetic complications via enhanced expression of adhesion molecules, including vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (VCAM 1), and intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM 1), both markers of vascular injury (Motawi et al., 2013). Motawi et al. (2013) advanced the hypothesis that tight glycemic control may restore plasma levels of sRAGE, VCAM 1 and oxidative stress parameters near the normal level in type 2 diabetic patients, reported as a decoy receptor for AGEs. Motawi et al. The lower level individuals in the these divisions were unfairly treated and disengaged from the goal of the company which lead to ambiguity of company clear and direct goals (accountability and responsibility); flawed construction of Business Units and Sub Units; mass confusion of consolidating; geographic displacement; lack of division communication; lack of training; and most importantly the lack of sharing product ... They state electricity and earth or ourselves evolution are huge barriers that was destroyed. If an asteroid hit the earth or nuclear warfare happens it is a huge reason we have lost. According to the fermi paradox we either pass this wall (barrier) or not. I have my conclusion of why we will fail, it is because humans are selfish, hard headed, fool mined incompetent beings. Climate change is the barrier that we don t really have any research on. El ninos and la ninas are the cause. To know El Niño, you need to know the intercoarse between the ocean and the atmosphere. Warm ocean surface water currents heats and adds moistness to the air above it, forming a low pressure system. Cool surface water cools the air above it, forming a high pressure system . In a Low, the warm, moist air produces tropical thunderstorms. In a High, cool, parched air sinks back to the surface and there is no precipitation. Together, the High and Low create a circulation pattern in which surface winds blow toward the Low and higher level winds rushes toward the High. An El nino come from the spanish word little boy. A good bison kill would weigh about 2,000 pounds, 800 pounds of which was good to eat. The natives could use the bladder and stomach to store water and keep meet fresh, the hides were used as cover for teepees and the various bones as weapons. • 24. The Prediction Of Fullerene Structure Fullerene was first recorded in a Japanese article, Kagaku, written by Eiji Osawa in 1970 which stated the prediction on the existence of C60 compound [1]. In the following year, a conjecture on the stability of C60 was established by Osawa and Yoshida where the aromatic characteristic of C60 was described further. The stability was further better explained when the Hückel s calculation method was applied and introduced to the icosahedron structure of C60 by Bochvar and Gal pern [2]. The prediction of fullerene structure was discussed based on graphite balloon speculation made by David Jones using pseudonym of Daedalus in a journal, The Scientist [3]. This speculation was essentially describing the gas phase carbon cluster in the form of geodesic cages which is applied to giant fullerenes compound [2]. Fullerenes can be described as closely packed carbon cages hold in rings of, most commonly, hexagons and pentagons with sp2 hydridised carbons. In some larger structure with more than 100 carbons, heptagonal rings may present. A large numbered fullerene will require larger cage to obtain the most least steric angle between the bonds and the structure might have a surface of concaved [4]. Figure 1 and Figure 2 show the cage structures of fullerenes C60 and C70. Both of these fullerenes are the most stable fullerene with more planar and larger nearly spherical structure and have higher thermodynamic stability with positive enthalpy change of formation, ∆H_f [4]. • 26. The Evolution Of Advertising And Advertising The Evolution of Advertising THE EVOLUTION OF ADVERTISING Advertisements are a huge part of our everyday lives. We see different types of ads everywhere we look; while watching television, listening to the radio, riding on the bus and even walking around your school campus. It seems like the whole world is being flooded by advertisements. Advertising techniques have changed and along with it, the impact they have on each individual s mind. While there are some similarities between the different kinds of advertisements we see today, there are also many differences. Advertising has also become more unethical than it was in, let s say, the 50s. Not all advertisements are brainless; there are a few that are even creative and fun and just pull the target audience in by entertaining them while selling them a product. The techniques companies use to sell their products have changed so much in the past 50 years. Every company has to adapt to the changing times. An example of this is that in the 1950s, companies had to find a way to appeal mostly to stay at home wives because they were the ones who were home all day listening to the radio while doing chores or watching the commercials between their soaps. In the 1970s advertisements had to change and find some way to appeal to an increasing amount of feminists while alluring homemakers also. They have to go along with the changes. In the election of 1824, there were four towering candidates: Andrew Jackson of Tennessee, Henry Clay of Kentucky, William H. Crawford of Georgia, and John Q. Adams of Massachusetts. 1. All four called themselves Republicans. 2. Three were a favorite son of their respective region but Clay thought of himself as a national figure (he was Speaker of the House and author of the American System ). iii. In the results, Jackson got the most popular votes and the most electoral votes, but he failed to get the majority in the Electoral College. Adams came in second in both, while Crawford was fourth in the popular vote but third in the electoral votes. Clay was 4th in the electoral vote. iv. Some of us will think that feeling constantly anxious, sweating, afraid, and nervous about everything is the way that we were meant to live and that things can be no other way. Some of us even try to convince ourselves that we are the only ones who feel this way, while others try to convince themselves that everyone feels this level of anxiety. But, fortunately, there is another way to feel and to live life, no matter how hard we want to believe otherwise. Confidence is the name of the feeling that is at the opposite extreme of anxious. Many of us have only felt this feeling for but a few fleeting moments, while others have not experienced it for years. Being anxious means that we are afraid of perceived threats or of failing, however that failure might look like to us. He says, This necessariness of the past tends to infect our thinking about the future, weighing down our disposition to act (Zinn 44). This makes it enormously useful to show how Hitler could emerge out of a boy playing in a field (Zinn 49). Zinn is not saying that history is not important. He is saying that it should not be seen as irrevocable facts and instead viewed as art. We view art as up for interpretation, insightful, and inspiring. Zinn is simply offering that we do the same with history. As previously stated, the past gives us understanding of the roots of evil. Using our history in this way is a tremendous tool, as Zinn demonstrates with the innocent boy to Hitler example. A problem with this argument is that humans are not easily willing to admit to their mistakes. When the United States defines to Soviet sphere as totalitarian and the West as free, it becomes difficult for Americans to see totalitarian elements in our society, and liberal elements in Soviet society (Zinn 49). • 34. Comparison Of Feminism In The Arabian Nights Dasha Kofman Arabian Nights Paper 11/14/17 Abstract In my paper I will discuss how Sharazade s role as a woman allows her to act as an advocate for female empowerment, through literature and storytelling. Initially, I will focus on the feminist role of Sharazade and how she is placed within her circumstances: 1001 nights of storytelling to the King to spare her life and the masses of woman after her. I will then go on to examine how Sharazade champions the case of feminine within her tales. She does so by intertwining female characters of power and intelligence. I will then go on to examine how women are viewed within the story, from slaves to warriors. Finally, I will take both Sharazades perception of feminism and how they are viewed within the story to examine their value within the story s setting, and the greater world. Sharazade reveals the harsh truth behind how women are portrayed in literature and the intensity in which they are finalized. She is allowing us to understand that women can not be placed under an umbrella term, but rather are distinct individuals who play in the structure of society both good and bad. Although they are portrayed as such, women aren t just women but are first and foremost, people. Shahrazad: Icon of Feminism The Arabian Nights also known as One Thousand and One Nights is a tale about Shahryar whom the reader refers to as the Sasanian king. When the virgins run out, the daughter offers herself and the tales of 1001 Nights begins; These tales often criticized by many people who argue that women are not tools to satisfy a man s pleasures. The amount of skill Davis must have had to keep on creating new, original, different music is far beyond many people. Davis is one of the main contributing factors to change jazz. In her article she states there is an increase in the achievement gap in the US; the blame for this should not be placed solely on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the points that is stated in our book is, student expectations must be raised. When a student is fighting one of those barriers that McKinstry stated, it will be more difficult on those students to raise their expectations if they do not have a good support system. McKinstry states that educators often lack specialized skills to address severe behavior and learning challenges and that the time to handle those issues doesn t exist; which will result in the students having little to no help. I personally agree with Richard Rothstein, the achievement gap cannot be closed without the collaboration of outside groups. Teachers cannot close the achievement gap on their own, if they could then I think the achievement gap would be closed by now. So, being that the achievement gap is not closed, it shows that teachers being high quality educators is not the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Sexting Among Teenage Girls and Boys Over the last few years, there has been a lot of discussion and debate over the topic of sexting. It has become a widespread phenomenon, the number of teenage girls and boys, men and women who participate are rapidly increasing, and with this too comes the rise of moral panic within societies. Individuals within the communities are becoming more and more fearful, afraid and shocked at this new form of youth culture hysteria. Although young people expressing their sexuality has become much more open and free as of the last decade or so, the real uproar of panic is due to the risks they involving themselves in as well as the damage and harm they are inflicting on themselves, whether they know it or not. Sexting is the act of sending, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And this is what is key to the moral panic of sexting, constant over exaggeration. As stated before the technology and means to sext have always been available, so why now is there such anxiety and fear towards sexting? A reason as to why this may be so, is because of the number of teens who have committed suicide over leaked sexts. One of the most infamous cases of suicide related to this issue is of 18 year old Jesse Logan who was mercilessly harassed at the hands of her peers. She was dating a 19 year old boy and had sent him nude pictures of herself. However after they broke up, he sent those photos to another girl who then sent them to others and soon the whole school knew about it and had seen the photos. From there is where the severe bullying started. On the Today show Jesse s friend, Lauren Taylor told NBC News about some of the abuse which was inflicted upon Jessie Logan. She says When she would come to school, she would always hear, Oh, that s the girl who sent the picture. She s just a whore . Her mother Cynthia Logan said that She was being attacked and tortured . Even through the bullying Jesse Logan made the decision to appear on a tv station to tell her story and make sure no one else makes the same mistake. After enduring further harassment and abuse, Jesse was finally able to graduate and looked to move on with her life. But after attending the funeral of one of her friends the following year who had committed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Causes And Effects Of The Third Crusade Of The Three Kings Effects of the Third Crusade Ayush Soota May 12th 2015 B4 The Third Crusade, also known as the Crusade of the Three Kings, was led by King Richard the Lionheart of England, Holy Roman Emperor Barbarossa of Germany and King Philip II of France. The Third Crusade was born out of a catastrophe for Christendom. This crusade was to prevent the Muslim armies from ruling over Jerusalem and to crush the Kurdish emperor Saladin so that he could not take any more land from the Crusaders. The Third crusade was to reclaim the Holy Land from the Muslims. It was also caused because after capturing the Christian held coastal ports and Jerusalem in 1187, Saladin invaded Syria in 1188 and took one Crusader castle after another and captured the city of Latakia. The Third Crusade were two campaigns which were the Siege of Acre and the Battle of Arsuf ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The failure to conquer the Holy Land would lead to the Fourth Crusade six years later in 1192. Thus, the main reasons for the Third Crusade was the loss of Jerusalem and the the loss of Crusader castles in Outremer that were the County of Tripoli and the Principality of Antioch The effects of the Third Crusade were the weakening of Monarchies, territorial changes and conflicts in ... • 42. Waiting for Godot Waiting For Godot By Samuel Beckett Nothing happens. Nobody comes, nobody goes. It s awful. How far do you agree? Initially written in French in 1948 as En Attendant Godot , Samuel Beckett s play was first staged in 1952, in Paris. It represents one of the most important movements of the twentieth century and is an example of the so called Theatre of the Absurd , which had subsequently inspired numerous plays that were based on the idea of an illogical universe. The plot of the play is fairly simple and is, in fact, purely a development of its title. Its description is rather ambiguous, for while one may think that no action whatsoever takes place throughout the play, another might suppose otherwise. Principally, the story includes ... They now lead a meaningless life (as meaningless as their constant exclamations and unsuccessful conversations), losing track of time and memory, passing time, existing: Estragon: We always find something, eh Didi, to give us the impression we exist? They merely exist, breathe, walk and eat. All these verbs are included in the play, for they give us the illusion of reality on the stage. However, far from that, the vagabonds are simply emblems of despair. These religious beliefs prevail in the play, placing faith under the spotlight of doubt. It is a scandalous topic, but it is presented in a somewhat naive manner: Estragon and Vladimir themselves hardly known what Christianity is; they consider the Biblical story an anecdote, for they know nothing of it. Beckett seems to doubt the necessity of religion without the basic knowledge of biblical myths, which, in our days, is a highly common occurrence. Nonetheless both Estragon and Vladimir believe in the existence of Godot, whose prophet descended seven skies to deliver a message. They do question his identity and distrust his facelessness and Estragon at times is ready to quit the worthless act of waiting, but scolded by Vladimir, remains immobile. Estragon: I cannot seem to depart. Estragon can see the logic of renouncing this lifestyle clearly, but neither can do it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Yeats s later work can, more accurately be read and understood in the light of Nietzsche s role in the development of Yeats s thought. Yeats s connection with Nietzsche is not simply a matter of literary influence; both of them are united by a common philosophic temperament and way of understanding the world. This paper is an attempt to study the influence that Nietzsche had upon Yeats, and what made it possible: the underlying kinship of a similar disposition. • 45. Essay On Diabetic Alert Dogs The use of Diabetic Alert Dogs to manage blood sugar levels in Type 1 Diabetic Children 13,000 children and adolescents are diagnosed annually with type 1 diabetes. Traditional care and management for this disease includes insulin therapy and blood sugar monitoring. One of the dangers associated with disease is hypoglycemia most commonly referred to as low blood sugar. To date 1 in 3 of the individuals diagnosed with type 1 diabetes will die from an undetected low blood sugar, mostly resulting from hypoglycemia unawareness while the child and caregiver is sleeping. The training also includes a constant alert until the appropriate action is taken to correct blood sugar levels whether it be drinking juice to correct a low or injecting insulin to correct a high. In the event that the child is unconscious the alert dog will find the caregiver to help. This is extremely beneficial in nocturnal hours when most low glucose levels go unnoticed and can result in death. The use Diabetic Alert Dogs result in less hypo and hyper glycemic events. While children and their caregivers can become distracted, an alert dog is always in scenting mode. Diabetic Alert Dogs provide greater control over blood sugar levels, resulting in fewer complications associated with type 1 diabetes. Since these dogs are trained to alert up to 45 minutes prior to a low or high blood sugar level, severe episodes of hypo and hyperglycemia can be reduced and eventually eliminated. This translates into fewer hospital admissions, diabetic comas and fatalities. The fact that the blood sugar level fluctuations are recognized at start of fluctuation provides the caregiver an opportunity to respond quickly with correct the child s blood sugar levels. The A1C numbers of children who have a Diabetic Alert Dog in the home are typically on the lower range. This makes them less susceptible to long term complications such as kidney failure, diabetic rhinopathy, glaucoma and diabetic ketoacidosis. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
