Comparing Daoism And Confucianism
While Daoism and Confucianism are of two different strains of thought they often flow in the same
way like two parallel rivers in governance in aspects of life, in practice the two systems are often flow
be each other to some degree but never interconnect at any points. Confucianism deals with social
matters, while Taoism concerns itself with the search for meaning. They share common beliefs about
man, society, and the universe, although these notions were around long before either philosophy.
Confucianism and Daoism are the two most influential philosophies in China both having their roots
during the Zhou Dynasty The political and social environment that inspired these schools of thought
was the breakdown of the Zhou monarchy and the rise of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Confucius, each person should act with virtue in all social matters; family, community,
state, and kingdom, to ensure order and unity. Man s virtue in all its forms is called ren which would
make sense but Daoism does not make much sense the ideology in which the ideal ruler and
government do not interfere in the lives of the people and lead them to prosperity of primitive
simplicity by nonaction and focuses on intuitive spontaneity. It is civilization that has corrupted
humanity from its early state of innocence but realistically as a person or society lives and ages there
is no such thing as innocence as one must grow and learn. The sage practices nonaction, gives up
worldly ambitions, and lives a simple life in accord with nature though that one does. The dedication
to right relationships and a solid social order contrast directly with the inner direct intuition of Taoism.
While both philosophies of Confucianism and Taoism may end up with the same result in having a
healthy society, one is taught and can culminate in results while the other is impeded by environmental
variables and through inaction and exclusiveness may cause more

The Success Of Martin Luther King Jr.
There were many great leaders of the civil rights movement. Just a few are Martin Luther King Jr.,
Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, and Andrew Goodman. These people helped make the civil rights movement
become a reality and a success. These people risked and sometimes lost their lives in the name of
freedom and equality. Martin Luther King Jr. is remembered famously for his speeches during the civil
rights movement, including the famous I have a dream speech, and Letter from Birmingham Jail.
Martin Luther was born January 15 1929 as Michael Luther King Jr., which was later as we all know
changed to Martin. He came from a long line of pastors. From 1960 to the time he died, he was a co
pastor at Ebenezer baptist church in Atlanta Georgia. He received a B. A. degree in 1948 from
Morehouse College. He studied at Crozer Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania for three years.
While there he was selected to be President of a predominantly white senior class and was awarded B.
D. in 1951. He studied at Boston University for two years receiving his degree in 1955. In Boston he
married his wife, Coretta Scott. He had two sons and two daughters. In 1954 he became a member of
the National Association for the Advancement of colored people. He then became the first colored
man to lead a nonviolent demonstration. During the boycott, King was arrested, his home was
bombed, and he was subjected to personal abuse. In the eleven year period between 1957 and 1968,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Virtualization
Virtualization
What is virtualization?
It is the creation of a virtual version of something. Which includes:
Computer hardware platforms
Operating systems
Storage devices
Computer network resources
It is the creation of a virtual version of a device or resource. It gives a virtual view computing
resources. Its allows you to turn one server into several hosts.
Brief History of Virtualization
When you think about the term Virtualization, the company VMWare most likely will come to mind.
In fact, you may not realise that it actually started back in the early 1960 s. it was pioneered by
companies like General Electric, Bell labs, and International Business Machines (IBM).
Back in the 1960 s IBM had many different types of systems, each ... Show more content on

It involves embedding virtual machine software into the component of a server. It s most commonly
known as hypervisor and virtual monitor are the most common.
It is a rapidly growing technology that is getting popular in server platforms. The simple idea is
putting several small physical servers into one large physical server so the processor can run
effectively.
The hypervisor controls the processor, memory and other components. The hypervisor allows several
different operating systems to run at once on the same machine. The OS running will appear to have
its own processor, memory and other components.
Desktop Virtualization This often is called client virtualization. It is considered a type of client server
computing model which the virtual desktop is stored on a centralized server and not on the machine
being used.
You interact with a virtual desktop in the same way you would with a real computer. A big plus is you
can remotely log in to access your desktop from any location

The Effect of Personality and Motivation on Sports...
For this assignment I will explain the effect of personality and motivation on sports performance.
Introduction Personality is the sum of a person s individual characteristics that make him/her unique.
(Adams et al, 2010) A person s personality determines how they react in certain situations, their
general mood and the consistency of it and their emotions. Personality can affect many aspects of
sport right from the selection process because as well as raw talent, coaches need performers to have
good mentality to be able to reach their required potential. Personality theories There are four main
personality theories, these are the different ideas behind where individuals get there personalities
from. I will explain three of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If he receives a card for the offence more often, then he will be less likely to dive due to the
punishment stopping him from playing and getting him into trouble with both his manager and the
football association he is playing under. I agree with the social learning theory as it helps young
athletes to learn important traits from older athletes such as their professionalism and sportsmanship
both on and off the field. This could be in football when an injury has occurred but play is continuing
so the opposing team kick the ball out of play for the injured player to receive treatment. On the other
hand it can also cause young athletes to pick up bad habits from others. This could be a lack of
sportsmanship such as fights in a game of football or swearing at the opposing team. This could cause
young athletes to feel this is acceptable behaviour for an athlete. Situational theory Situational theory
is when athletes base their actions depending on the environment and situation they are placed. This
theory can suggest that if an athlete is in a pressured environment or situation it can sometimes cause a
player to react in an irrational manner which can have a serious negative effect on their performance.
This can also have a positive effect on some athletes who thrive under pressure and it can cause them
to play to their highest level. Someone I feel suffered from this particular theory is Zinedine Zidane, A

Communism Vs Conservativism
Over the past couple of years, I have watched numerous political debates, from social issues to
economic policies. I have watched debates between the quick speaking Ben Shapiro, and the bullish
Cenk Uygur. Cenk always makes a statement, and when given counter evidence, his only reply is
Google it . Shapiro throws out three or even four pieces of evidence for every point he makes. When
Cenk gets upset, he lashes out at the crowd; Shapiro remains level headed and only attacks the
argument. Over spring break, I travelled up to Montgomery, AL, to page in the State House of
Representative. During my time as a page, I had the opportunity to meet ten to fifteen representatives,
across party lines. I was also able to meet the Speaker of the House, Mac McCutcheon. This
experience taught me a lot about the inner workings of the legislative system. Even though different
sides have their own opinions, in order to get anything done, compromises have to be reached. When
defining conservativism, or any other political mindset for that matter, it is important to first explain
the political spectrum. A common misconception is that the two extremes of the political spectrum are
Communism (Left) and Fascism (Right). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because the free market regulates itself, government regulations add an extra burden, which slows
down growth and innovation. Conservatives believe that taxes should be as low as possible, allowing
the private sector to operate more freely and the economy to grow. With the government out of the
way, ordinary people are able to drive the economy forward. It has been proven during the Reagan and
Trump administrations that tax cuts and less regulation makes the economy explode. Corporations
save money, which they then invest back into the economy, causing it to grow. Individuals also save
money, which they will spend on consumer goods or put in a bank. Either way, it will stimulate the

Affirmative Action Should Not Be A Program
Combat racism, with more racism. That is a strategy that seems so backward in thought that it should
not be a program in modern American government and yet is still very active today. Affirmative action
is defined as the practice of improving the educational and job opportunities of members of groups
that have not been treated fairly in the past because of their race, sex, etc (Merriam Webster).
Affirmative action creates a blatantly unfair advantage in college and job applications to non minority
races and is ultimately a racist law. Affirmative action is most prominent in the College admission
process, where its racial prioritizing is the most blatant. In 2005, it was found that the acceptance rates
for African Americans at MIT were 98.7% higher than the acceptance rates for Whites or Asians
(College Admission Officers). Affirmative Action was passed in 1961 by John Fitzgerald Kennedy to
combat racial tensions in college admissions and the workforce. It gave an opportunity to minorities
that may have been previously set back from racist laws and rules to have a chance at changing their
lives for the better. This artificial raising of minority opportunities has lasted for more than two
generations and has long outlived its purpose. Affirmative Action in its modern day use is racist at the
expense of the non minority race(s), and was meant for minority advancement in a world where it was
almost impossible. Today, all races are equal in the eyes of all the

The Metaphorical Lesbian in Chopin’s The Awakening Essay
The Metaphorical Lesbian in Chopin s The Awakening
In The Metaphorical Lesbian: Edna Pontellier in The Awakening Elizabeth LeBlanc asserts that the
character Edna Pontellier is an example of what Bonnie Zimmerman calls the metaphorical lesbian. It
s important to distinguish between Zimmerman s concept of the metaphorical lesbian and lesbianism.
The metaphorical lesbian does not have to act on lesbian feelings or even become conscious of herself
as a lesbian. Instead, the metaphorical lesbian creates a space for woman identified relationships and
experiences in a heterosexually hegemonic environment.
In LeBlanc s words, I am suggesting...that the presence of lesbian motifs and manifestations in the text
offers a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She looks at the ways that Edna associates with Adele Ratignolle and Madesmoiselle Reisz differently,
but towards the same purpose. In this case, Mademoiselle Reisz represents the actual lesbian and one
possible way of life for Edna while Adele represents what she is leaving behind. She examines how
Adele Ratignolle is constructed as an ideal woman mother, but that she becomes an individual subject
when she relates to Edna through woman identified contact. Edna finds no solace in the literal spaces
in which her metaphorical lesbian identity can reside. Neither can other heterosexual options fulfill her
desire as the metaphorical lesbian. The reason why Edna eventually rejects her fantasies with both
Alcee Arobin and Robert Lebrun is that they offered only a re establishment of her relationship with
Leonce. They were different men, but presented the same scenario. LeBlanc argues, instead, that Edna
chooses the sea as her metaphorical lesbian lover. Therefore, the ending is a triumph rather than a
tragedy.
Essential to LeBlanc s analysis of how Edna becomes the metaphorical lesbian and climaxes in her
metaphorical love at the end of the story is Edna s gradual recognition of her changed self. One of the
examples of Edna s reconstruction is the emphasis on her physical body (an interesting analysis

Pro Abortion Essay
Through many years, abortion is still considerably a very controversial issue in the society. In 1973,
the U.S Supreme Court case of Roe vs Wade, abortion is a legal choice for pregnant women (Center
for Reproductive Rights, 2003). However, in some countries like Philippine, Chile, Nigeria, etc.
Abortion is noticeably illegal (Center for Reproductive Rights, 2003). In addition, having abortion is a
very risky taken because women lose a lot of blood and especially feeling pain. When woman decides
to abort the future baby, it means that she is taking someone s life, so abortion is murder. According to
Oxford dictionary, abortion is clearly defined as Deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most
often performed during the first 28 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(BMC Women s health, 2013). For example, raising a child is absolutely not an easy process because
it needs time, money and providing love to children. If abortion is legal the unwanted baby is not
suffering from living in an unhappy live. However, there are several reasons that abortion should not
be legal. Firstly, women choose termination of pregnancy because of the gender selective. The study
from 2000 to 2014 shows that there were 24 million girls have been missing because of sex selective
abortion Based on this natural ratio, there should have been 47 million more boys than girls born since
2000. Instead, because of sex selective abortions, there were 71 million more boys than girls born.
(World Population Institute, 2000 2014).For instance, in some countries like India, China and etc.
people prefer boys than girls because daughters maybe considered as burden to the parents and
especially, an expensive dowry is needed once when she is married. Meanwhile, sons alone inherit
property, conduct funeral rites and carry on the family name. Secondly, abortion can positively result
in psychological problems for women such as depression, anxiety, drug abuse, post traumatic stress
disorder (PTSD), suicidal ideation etc. Researchers

As With Any Other Comparative Analysis, This Essay Will
As with any other comparative analysis, this essay will discuss the similarities between two elements.
The elements in this situation are the Republic of Ireland and the United States of America. The three
specific ways that these two countries can be compared are via: economic and political outlook, social
and cultural issues, and resources and work culture. Additionally, each country is known throughout
the world. Primarily because of their business structure. The first factor that will be addressed is
economic and political outlook. To begin one will address the political outlook of these two countries,
and with that comes the form of government. Both are republics. With the United States being a

1). Their duty is to speak to the government on behalf of a community and/or state. In the judicial
branch, both countries have a Supreme Court ( The World Factbook: IRELAND , 2017, Pg. 1). Whose
role is to hear legal cases of significant magnitude to the country and/or its citizens. One key
difference is that in Ireland the judges in the Supreme Court cannot serve past age 70 , whereas in the
United States the judges are appointed for life ( The World Factbook: IRELAND , 2017, Pg. 1).
Hence, the age of justices varies between these two republics. These three major branches of
government can also overlap at times to provide a peaceful resolution or to resolve active disputes.
Now for the economic outlook of these two countries. This comparing, and contrasting segment is
more difficult than the political outlook. Since, these two countries do vary quite significantly in terms
of population and size. For instance, Ireland s population as of July 2016 was just below five million,
which is incomparable to the roughly 324 million United States population ( The World Factbook:
IRELAND , 2017, Pg. 1). That means the Irish population could be added about 65 times to reach the
American population. However, these two nations do have some similarities. First, both countries rely
heavily on technology to propel their economic growth and expansion. For Ireland has a talented pool

Shifting Narrative Perspective In Wild Thorns By Sahar...
In the novel, Wild Thorns, written by Sahar Khalifeh there are a number of examples of shifting
narrative perspective, which helps Sahar Khalifeh give a more balanced description and view of the
Occupation for the reader. Sahar Khlaifeh conveys shifting narrative perpective through dialogue and
internal monologue. In particular we see different and conflicting views on the Occupation between
Usama and Adil, who are both cousins, with a conflicting relationship. The dialogue between the two
characters provide the two different perspectives, we are able to see the internal thinking of both
characters and see how this influences our view on the Occupation. Also, the use of shifting narrative
perspective by the writer helps give the reader a better ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All culture gone! All integrity gone! Sink, Palestine... (pg 69). In this example Usama expresses his
opinion on the Occupation and the lack of effort shown by Adil to do something about the change in
the Occupation. There are more examples of exclamatory statements, which helps show the reader the
opposing opinions towards the Occupation. All culture gone! All integrity gone! This example really
puts emphasis on the fact that there is disagreement and disgust from Usama towards the Occupation.
Sahar Khalifeh uses exclamatory statements well in this novel to show characters opinions. Another
example of internal thoughts are shown, this time with Adil, adil was looking at him in digust! . In this
part of the text it refers to Adil looking at Usama in disgust. This is very useful in showing that both
characters have conflict between each other which is based on the Occupation and the contrasting
opinions from each other. However, through the use of internal monologue we can see the different
views on the same situation. Theres more than one dimension to the picture . This is a qoutation which

Being invited by the secretary general of the United Nations makes her credibility appear stronger,
because it is an honor to be invited by someone of such importance to a national organization. She
also states, Tomorrow, I will attend a gathering of the United Nations Development Fund for women,

Clinton states, Over the past 25 years, I have worked persistently on issues relating to women,
children, and families. Her providing the amount of time she has worked with women s rights and that
she has worked continuously on these issues makes her more credible. Being a woman provides
enough credibility to be able to speak on the rights of women, but traveling to other countries and
seeing how their women are treated contributes a proper understanding of how dire the situation truly
is.
A final element which makes this speech effective is the use of style. Towards the middle of Clinton s
speech, she is talking about the violation of human rights. She begins seven sentences with It is a
violation of human rights... and using this phrase provides power for her statements:
It is a violation of human rights when babies are denied food...

Post Conquest Mexico Essay
In 1521, the fall of Tenochtitlan proved to be an integral piece in the Spanish conquest of Mexico.
After months of devastating warfare between the Aztecs and the Spanish as well as the infection of
smallpox into the Aztec population, the Spanish conquered New Spain (Mexico) as their own,
resulting in the Spanish occupation and rebuilding of Tenochtitlan. The reshaping of the city was an
arduous and complex feat to say the least, as Hernan Cortés faced many challenges following the
satisfying victory of the conquest. In order to determine these various challenges involved in post
conquest Mexico, one must assess the various feats Cortés struggled through as well as Carlos I s
attempts to deal with the chaos in Mexico. The most decisive endeavours that the Spaniards faced
included: fixing a city of ruins, incorporating the indigenous peoples into society, and creating a
Christian basis throughout the land. Thus, post conquest Mexico faced a magnitude of challenges

Following the concept of the novel as an epistolary, the prologue is an extract of the family papers
written in India by an unnamed cousin of Herncastle who depicts the events leading up to Herncastle s
looting of the treasury in Seringapatam. The prologue plays an important role in informing the readers
that before the Moonstone goes missing from Rachel s boudoir, it is foremost stolen from the Indians
by an Englishman. By beginning the novel with a striking... scene of brutality and greed committed by
an English soldier (Free 347), Collins sets the tone of his argument for the rest of the novel. The fact
that it is an Englishman who commits the crime is crucial. This is significant because Collins was

cousin... is for the information of the family only (Collins 15). Although, to digress, another irony is
how it is now included in the archive, that is, in fact, The Moonstone, (Free 340), thus exposed to the

Winter Wheat Research Paper
Stichler and Livingston (1999) previously stated that a major advantage of winter wheat compared
with other small grain species that could be grown for winter forage production is its excellent
tolerance to abiotic stresses including cold and drought. In addition, wheat forage has relatively high
nutritive values including high protein, energy values, minerals, and low fiber concentrations,
compared with barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), oat (Avena sativa L.), and rye (Secale cereale L.)
forages. Generally, forage yield of winter wheat from late November to early March is more consistent
and productive than that of the other species (Denman and Arnold, 1970; Watson et al., 1993). Bockus

Hierarchical And Directory Based Database Essay
Homogenous database
It is a distributed database where each site shares a common software and the same copy of database.
These sites connect with each other and fulfill their requirements accordingly.
For example if a user queries something which needs resources from multiple sites then homogeneous
databases are a perfect suite where the sites interconnect with each other. Thus the sites share the same
or identical software and are aware of each and every site.
Heterogeneous database
It is a distributed database where all sites have different databases and no identical software .
Each site is independent and can handle data by its own.
Distributed File system
Distributed file system organizes file and directory services of individual servers into a global
directory in such a way that remote data access is not location specific but is identical from any client
with the client being unaware of the location. Organization is hierarchical and directory based.
Since more than one client may access the same data simultaneously there should be a mechanism to
keep the data updated . Distributed file systems typically use file or database replication (distributing
copies of data on multiple servers) to protect against data access failures.
There are distributed file services offered to the client.
The file service is a specification of what the file system offers to the client . This service is
implemented by the server. A file system is responsible for the organization,

The Relevance Of Photosynthesis And Nature
The Relevance Of Photosynthesis To Nature
The natural light that shines onto the Earth is said to be the driving force behind all life. It s
fascinating to find out that the green matter around us that we tend to take for granted is mankind s
source of energy which is a necessity for every living being even in its lowest form. We can literally
define photosynthesis as synthesis with the help of light . It is also defined as the basic process of life
whereby plants absorb energy from sunlight and through a series of processes convert that energy to
chemical energy that is later consumed by other living entities. As Julius Robert Mayer asserts, Nature
has put itself the problem how to catch in flight light streaming to the earth and to store the most
elusive of all powers in rigid form. This turns out to be an economic provision to which the existence
of mankind is inexorably bound. (Rabinowitch and Govindjee, 9). We will examine how this process
keeps our planet alive and will also demonstrate how plants distribute energy to all members of the
ecosystem through a series of chain reactions. The following chemical equation gives us a general
overview of the entire process:
CO2 + H2O + ENERGY (PHOTONS) CX (H2 O) y + O2
This means carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O) from the atmosphere together with kinetic energy
from the sun that results in the variable carbohydrate group (CX (H2 O) y) and oxygen (O2 ). We
observe that the resulting expression on the right

Parking Garages Benefits
Many people consider parking garages as ugly, dark, and dangerous places. This reputation is due in
large part to poor upkeep and poor lighting. It doesn t help that commonly used lights in parking
garages produce an eerie off white color that disorients the customer. However, this can be changed by
using clean reflective surfaces on the ceiling and walls and by using LED lighting. Here is how you
benefit from this change:
More Attractive to Your Customers
Bright lighting elevates the mood of your customers and makes them feel safer. The feeling of safety
that people experience in daylight is both real and psychological. This feeling is reproduced in parking
garages brightly lit with LEDs. LED lights closely resemble daylight and therefore produce similar
psychological feelings. The improved lighting also makes the area more attractive and upscale.
Customers are then more inclined to come back and do repeat business. ... Show more content on

The improved lighting also allows customers to see slippery areas, irregular surfaces, curbs, wheel
stops, and other features that might cause slip or trip and fall accidents. This improves your customer s
safety and reduces your risk of customer lawsuits arising from being crime victims on your property
and from injuries caused by fall accidents. Poor lighting is a common reason property owners are
required to pay damages in these lawsuits.
The above benefits are further enhanced by clean, white reflective wall and ceiling surfaces. This
disperses light and increases the overall illumination. The right choice of paint or surface treatment
will also repel dirt and soot buildup, which diminish the garage illumination over time.
Two other benefits you ll enjoy from LED parking garage lighting are the reduced energy
consumption and therefore lower energy bills, and reduced maintenance costs because of the increased
operating life of

Essay on Blue Ocean Strategy- A Marketing Book
BLUE OCEAN STRATEGY
Blue Ocean Strategy
Introduction
Blue ocean strategy is a marketing book by W. Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne in the year 2005. The
book mostly borrows from a range of over 140 strategic marketing moves within a period of over a
century. The book succeeds in showing how businesses, can outdo their competitors. Not because of
battling them, rather, because of what the authors refer to as blue oceans, which consists of
uncontested market space.

Most marketing executives would argue that blue ocean opportunities are depleted in the modern
world. It is fascinating to note that the universe is dynamic, and markets are expanding over time,
thus, creating new opportunities each, and every day. Not only does the framework in the book try to
give a solution to the analytical concepts that aided in the creation of the Blue ocean strategy. Rather,
it also highlights on the execution aspect of it. Motivation of employees so that they can achieve set

Why Is Global Warming A Threat To Alaska
Many people have dreamed about visiting Alaska when they are on vacation. Alaska is a state with
beautiful mountains, landscapes, and wild animals that has attracted many tourists around the world.
With lands filled with snow, skies filled with the Northern Lights, and delightful animals, such as the
fuzzy penguins, that wander around the place. However, in this past few years, these snows have been
melting, and some animals disappearing. All of this is due to global warming. To some people, global
warming is a huge threat to the Earth as ocean levels start to rise and species start to lose their habitats.

the species evolution was driven by global warming. As an article entitled Conditions of Life: How
Climate Change Has Driven Evolution stated They find that there have been six distinct waves of
species diversity, and that the driving force of those waves has likely been climate change (Walsh).
Climate change has led to many changed is some biomes. Thus, species that live in that biome would
have to adapt and change, or they will die. These changed and evolutions will eventually create a new

A Common Understanding Of Weather Menace
1. What is fog? A common understanding of this weather menace must be established before delving
into its dangers. Layman s terms suggest that fog is a low hovering cloud which limits the visibility at
ground level in a wide variety of intensity. From personal experience, fog may prevent you from
locating your own home, or may simply cause the air to feel moist. Fog forms when the difference
between air temperature and dew point is generally less than 4 °F. Fog begins to form when water
vapor condenses into tiny liquid water droplets suspended in the air, usually also clinging to pollutants
or naturally occurring particles (ex: dust, salt, etc.) Water vapor is added to the air by: wind
convergence into areas of upward direction, precipitation, daytime heating which evaporates water
from the surface of large bodies of water, oceans or wetlands; transpiration from plants, cool or dry air
moving over warmer water, and lifting air over mountains. Think of fog as a lower rendition of the
cloud form stratus; meaning it is a lower deck that occurs when a cool air mass is confined under a
warm air mass. 2. Different types of fogs? Foggiest place in the United States? Fog can form in many
ways dependent on what caused the cooling and how the condensation occurred. The most common
form of fog, Radiation fog, is fashioned by the cooling of terrain after sun down by thermal radiation
when wind conditions are relatively calm and cloud cover is at a minimum. The cooling ground

Definition of Project: In 1992, the Rio Earth Summit declared The right to development must be
fulfilled so as to equitably meet developmental and environmental needs of present and future
generations and in order to create sustainable development the mindset of the individual would need to

transformation it enables them to meet the demands of the current and future environment, (Abbas,

to two alums of AIESEC, Middelburg and Shaw to deliver the following initiatives.

Film Differences And Cultural Differences
Some people delude themselves that having freedom means to disregard the human rights of other
people. Everyone has the rights to express one s idea, belief, and thoughts, but there is an invisible
limit to the expressions. When the expressions hurt other people emotionally or physically, one needs
to recognize that the action has to be fixed. This process usually happens as people grow up learning
how to socially behave in the communities. However, the human rights of some people are still being
violated in the public. One of the biggest stages of it is in the mainstream media including the
Hollywood. Hollywood is one of the most impactful media sources that produces global film works.
People live together and no one can live on their own in this society, and for this reason, everyone
should know that individuals have the responsibility of keeping the rights of others. With heavier
respect to be in such positions, Hollywood writers and directors have a social responsibility to avoid
stereotyping ethnic characters for three reasons: to respect the individual cultural differences, due to
the large impact of the media, and for the opportunity to obtain further creativity. At first, Hollywood
writers and directors should have a social responsibility to avoid ethnic characters to respect the
individual cultural differences simply as a human being. People fight for the rights of genders, races,
and positions still to this day, but they do not recognize that certain groups of

Poor customer service and appalling workmanship in product quality due to poor quality control
tarnished the reputation of Rover cars as a high quality innovative manufacturer. Quality control
involves inspection of materials, processes, end products as well as customer services guaranteeing
high standards. Unlike its competitors, Rover cars were poorly built and were prone to rust and its
windows tend to leak within months of purchase. As a result, the company was losing its winning
factor, which is desirability among customers. As the company progressed, lack of employee
discipline put its reputation at stake as Rover cars became notoriously known as a car company with
poor build quality and poor customer service as complaints from customers were conveniently swept
under the carpet. Overcoming the situation, I would adopt internal and external control as well as
market control to improve the control of the organisation. With market control, influence by
competitors in terms of organisational behaviour would encourage employees to cope with the
competition by using similar quality materials to ensure longer durability and are less prone to rust.
Also, implementation of internal control promotes self discipline among employees in fulfilling tasks
expectations and responsibilities, especially in customer service. By implementing external control
strategy, managers must take immediate action against employees should there be a disciplinary
problem among

The Influence Of Acetylcholine On The Body
The body uses chemicals known as neurotransmitters, and according to Dr. C. George Boeree, they are
chemicals which allow the transmission of signals from one neuron to the next across synapses.
Additionally, neurotransmitters are also responsible for muscle stimulation that are produced by
adrenal glands and pituitary glands. One of the first, and most abundant, neurotransmitters to be
discovered is acetylcholine, often abbreviated ACh (Cherry). This was first discovered by a German
biologist, Otto Loewi, in 1921 who later won a Nobel Prize for his findings (Boeree). Acetylcholine is
present in both inhibitory functions as well as excitatory functions, which means that it can both speed
up and slow down nerve signals ( Acetylcholine ). Its role in the central nervous system is excitatory,
and plays a role in arousal, learning, memory, and neuroplasticity. Other functions include engaging
functions such as waking, help sustain focus, maintain rapid eye movement ... Show more content on

For example imbalances in acetylcholine can cause the development of myasthenia gravis, a disorder
that causes weakness in muscles and fatigue ( Acetylcholine ). Another example is the fact that an
imbalance of acetylcholine and dopamine, can cause Parkinson s disease. Acetylcholine works with
dopamine neurotransmitter linked with mood and the sensation of pleasure to smooth out movements
so when there is an imbalance it causes shaky movements, which is a key trait of Parkinson s disease (
Acetylcholine ). Even damage to the certain parts of the brain that produces acetylcholine, such as the
cholinergic portion of the brain, is linked to cause the development of Alzheimer s disease; the varied
levels of acetylcholine is common in Alzheimer s patients. The lack of acetylcholine, specifically in
the hippocampus can cause dementia; although, an abundant amount of acetylcholine can cause
depression

How Did Robert E Lee Make Wrong Decisions
Robert E. Lee was one of the most outstanding military leaders during the civil war because he had
experience before the war that helped him make smart decisions, he made major impacts on the war
which helped the Confederacy, and he was revered by his men.
As a general for the Confederacy, Robert E. lee had many choices to make that could have dire
consequences if he made the wrong decision. This is where his prior war experience comes into play.
He has developed his skills through his experience in the Elite Engineering Corps and the Mexican
War. As said by Dowdey (2017), his experience in the Engineering corps helped them at Spotsylvania
Court House, he built fortifications which negated Ulysses S Grant s troops (Dowdey 2017). This was

Lee s brilliance is not the only thing that helped the confederacy, the trust his men put into his abilities
is what gave the Confederacy an edge against the Union. His men saw him as an untouchable, smart
and strong leader, this belief started to form during the seven day battles.
As said best by Pryor (2017)
Because it was the first major victory for the Confederacy since Bull Run, and because it halted a
succession of military reversals, Lee emerged overnight as the people s hero, and his soldiers
developed an almost mystical belief in him. (Pryor 2017).
What also boosted the appreciation his men had for him was his choices in generals for his two corps
he created from the Army of North Virginia, they were Thomas J. Stonewall Jackson and Old War
Horse Lt. Gen. James Longstreet (HistoryNet). The ultimate sign of respect was after the seven day
battle when Robert E. Lee not only earned the respect of his comrades but earned his new permanent
nickname Marse Robert, which means Master Robert (Stiles). Before Robert E. Lee earned his
permanent nickname he was called Granny Lee because people did not like his timid style of leading,
but then the seven day battle happened and Robert E. Lee emerged the people s hero earning everyone

Happy New Year s Eve everyone!
Now going back to my previous blog, I promised to start off each blog with a story from my life, so
here goes nothing.
Now there was a time where, we were all kids. For some of you that might have been ten years ago,
and for others of you, that might have been last year aha! There was a time when I was about 7 years
old. Now, after my parents divorced, my mother, my sisters and I lived in an apartment complex. My
younger sister, Alexis (age 6), and I were quick to make friends with our neighbors, a girl named
Madison (age 6), and her younger brother named Parker (age 5). They were a little younger than us,
but they were just as animated and active as we were. Now, Parker was quite the character, I would ...

All of a sudden, Parker loses control of the bike and starts to head down the hill. Alexis immediately

Parker ends up at the bottom of the hill in the bushes of thorns crying, but still trying to push his
Harley up the hill. Madison runs home, and their parents come and takes Parker s Harley out of the
bushes and up the hill. His parents were very understanding when we told them what happened, but
Parker goes to say, I m not sure I can marry that gal after this!
Now thinking back on this story, I couldn t do anything except laugh! This story definitely put a lot of
things into perspective for me, when I relate it to my life experiences now. This story allows me think
about how I will approach things, going into the New Year. How I will approach conflict, how I will
approach drama, how I approach negativity. When thinking about those things, it gave me three main
points on how I can better myself, but also better the core of my heart.
1. Don t treat people how they treat you.

Not Patentable
The fact that essential oils cannot be patented is a real shame, because large drug companies will not
spend money studying a product that they cannot patent, the many wonderful effects of essential oils
may never be truly understood. It also means that the amount of scientific studies that are conducted
on essential oils is extremely limited because researchers cannot get money to study them.
Additionally, the lack of research means that most mainstream practitioners will never recommend
that you use them, even though many of them may use them themselves.
Avoid Plastics
When cleaning with essential oils, always make sure to use a sponge or mop that contains no plastic.
Combining essential oils with plastic can create toxic fumes. Likewise, never store essential oils in a

Leonardo Da Vinci s Lady With Unicorn
In 1934 1936 Raphael restored a female portrait Lady with Unicorn. Leonardo Da Vinci had painted
this piece in the year 1505. Leonardo was a high renaissance painter and this picture is a high
renaissance piece. The time period of when it was created and the idealized figure, clarity, and bright
colors depict the type of renaissance piece. In the portrait a lady with long blonde hair, and blue eyes
is holding a greenish colored unicorn in her lap, which gives the portrait its name. It was an oil
painting that was applied to a wooden canvas. This piece was actually inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci
s Mona Lisa (Young women with Unicorn , n.d.). The subject in the portrait has been identified as
Saint Catherine of Alexandria. The painting was attributed to Raphael when he restored it. Removal of
a heavy repainting revealed the unicorn in this portrait. The unicorn is a representation of purity in the
medieval romance in place of Catherine s wheel. In the painting the five elements of renaissance
perspective are all portrayed.

Republicans do not simply favor economics over the environment. The real problem is that
Republicans mistrust environmental science, and nowhere is there a clearer example of this mistrust
than the hearing held by the Subcommittee on environmental regulation in 1995.
SCIENTIFIC COURT
A large component of the Republicans Contract with American was to establish a new paradigm for
environmental policy and environmental law. Republicans believed that the environmental regulation
that had happened in the United States lacked sound scientific evidence. They believed that in an
effort to pass environmental regulation Democratic Congressmen, Senators, and the President had
suppressed those scientists whose views undermined environmental science. As Democratic
Congressmen George E. Brown stated, they (Republicans) allege that science, particularly
environmental science, has been distorted to serve political purposes. 2 This Republican conviction
became apparent when Republicans took over Capitol hill in 1994. No other event more clearly
demonstrates Republicans opinion of environmental science than the 104th Congressional

Middlesex by Jeffry Eugenides
Middlesex by Jeffry Eugenides is a book about Calliope Cal Stephanides. In the beginning of the
book, Cal, as he likes to be referred to as, tells us about his condition. Cal has a 5 Alpha Reductase
pseudohermaphrodite which is, simply put, a condition that affects the sexual development of males
before the birth of the child and also during puberty. In Middlesex, incestuous marriages were secretly
accepted among the villagers which resulted in Cal being conceived by cousins. Before Cal s birth, the
tradition of his family was gender prediction by his grandmother, Desdemona Stephanides. It seemed
to be a traditional thing for the family from the Greek roots. When it was time to predict Tessie s, Cal s
mother, baby, Desdemona declared that the child would be a boy. Milton, Cal s father, disagreed
because there was no way the baby could be a boy scientifically. This could also be based on the fact
that Tessie and Milton wanted a baby girl. Until the age of sixteen, Cal was raised as a girl even
though he had a male brain biologically.
The fact that Calliope was a child of incest was a huge factor on why he was born with the condition
he was born with. 5 Alpha Reductace, as stated earlier, is a condition in which people are born male
but their bodies fail to produce enough dihydrotestosterone (DHT). A shortage of DHT disrupts the
formation of external sex organs before birth which is why it is understandable that Cal s parents
raised him as a girl. The thing is,

  • 2. Comparing Daoism And Confucianism While Daoism and Confucianism are of two different strains of thought they often flow in the same way like two parallel rivers in governance in aspects of life, in practice the two systems are often flow be each other to some degree but never interconnect at any points. Confucianism deals with social matters, while Taoism concerns itself with the search for meaning. They share common beliefs about man, society, and the universe, although these notions were around long before either philosophy. Confucianism and Daoism are the two most influential philosophies in China both having their roots during the Zhou Dynasty The political and social environment that inspired these schools of thought was the breakdown of the Zhou monarchy and the rise of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Confucius, each person should act with virtue in all social matters; family, community, state, and kingdom, to ensure order and unity. Man s virtue in all its forms is called ren which would make sense but Daoism does not make much sense the ideology in which the ideal ruler and government do not interfere in the lives of the people and lead them to prosperity of primitive simplicity by nonaction and focuses on intuitive spontaneity. It is civilization that has corrupted humanity from its early state of innocence but realistically as a person or society lives and ages there is no such thing as innocence as one must grow and learn. The sage practices nonaction, gives up worldly ambitions, and lives a simple life in accord with nature though that one does. The dedication to right relationships and a solid social order contrast directly with the inner direct intuition of Taoism. While both philosophies of Confucianism and Taoism may end up with the same result in having a healthy society, one is taught and can culminate in results while the other is impeded by environmental variables and through inaction and exclusiveness may cause more ... • 3. The Success Of Martin Luther King Jr. There were many great leaders of the civil rights movement. Just a few are Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, and Andrew Goodman. These people helped make the civil rights movement become a reality and a success. These people risked and sometimes lost their lives in the name of freedom and equality. Martin Luther King Jr. is remembered famously for his speeches during the civil rights movement, including the famous I have a dream speech, and Letter from Birmingham Jail. Martin Luther was born January 15 1929 as Michael Luther King Jr., which was later as we all know changed to Martin. He came from a long line of pastors. From 1960 to the time he died, he was a co pastor at Ebenezer baptist church in Atlanta Georgia. He received a B. A. degree in 1948 from Morehouse College. He studied at Crozer Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania for three years. While there he was selected to be President of a predominantly white senior class and was awarded B. D. in 1951. He studied at Boston University for two years receiving his degree in 1955. In Boston he married his wife, Coretta Scott. He had two sons and two daughters. In 1954 he became a member of the National Association for the Advancement of colored people. He then became the first colored man to lead a nonviolent demonstration. During the boycott, King was arrested, his home was bombed, and he was subjected to personal abuse. In the eleven year period between 1957 and 1968, King traveled over six million ... • 5. The Effect of Personality and Motivation on Sports... For this assignment I will explain the effect of personality and motivation on sports performance. Introduction Personality is the sum of a person s individual characteristics that make him/her unique. (Adams et al, 2010) A person s personality determines how they react in certain situations, their general mood and the consistency of it and their emotions. Personality can affect many aspects of sport right from the selection process because as well as raw talent, coaches need performers to have good mentality to be able to reach their required potential. Personality theories There are four main personality theories, these are the different ideas behind where individuals get there personalities from. I will explain three of ... If he receives a card for the offence more often, then he will be less likely to dive due to the punishment stopping him from playing and getting him into trouble with both his manager and the football association he is playing under. I agree with the social learning theory as it helps young athletes to learn important traits from older athletes such as their professionalism and sportsmanship both on and off the field. This could be in football when an injury has occurred but play is continuing so the opposing team kick the ball out of play for the injured player to receive treatment. On the other hand it can also cause young athletes to pick up bad habits from others. This could be a lack of sportsmanship such as fights in a game of football or swearing at the opposing team. This could cause young athletes to feel this is acceptable behaviour for an athlete. Situational theory Situational theory is when athletes base their actions depending on the environment and situation they are placed. This theory can suggest that if an athlete is in a pressured environment or situation it can sometimes cause a player to react in an irrational manner which can have a serious negative effect on their performance. This can also have a positive effect on some athletes who thrive under pressure and it can cause them to play to their highest level. Someone I feel suffered from this particular theory is Zinedine Zidane, A former French International ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Communism Vs Conservativism Over the past couple of years, I have watched numerous political debates, from social issues to economic policies. I have watched debates between the quick speaking Ben Shapiro, and the bullish Cenk Uygur. Cenk always makes a statement, and when given counter evidence, his only reply is Google it . Shapiro throws out three or even four pieces of evidence for every point he makes. When Cenk gets upset, he lashes out at the crowd; Shapiro remains level headed and only attacks the argument. Over spring break, I travelled up to Montgomery, AL, to page in the State House of Representative. During my time as a page, I had the opportunity to meet ten to fifteen representatives, across party lines. I was also able to meet the Speaker of the House, Mac McCutcheon. This experience taught me a lot about the inner workings of the legislative system. Even though different sides have their own opinions, in order to get anything done, compromises have to be reached. When defining conservativism, or any other political mindset for that matter, it is important to first explain the political spectrum. A common misconception is that the two extremes of the political spectrum are Communism (Left) and Fascism (Right). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Conservatives believe that taxes should be as low as possible, allowing the private sector to operate more freely and the economy to grow. It has been proven during the Reagan and Trump administrations that tax cuts and less regulation makes the economy explode. Corporations save money, which they then invest back into the economy, causing it to grow. Individuals also save money, which they will spend on consumer goods or put in a bank. • 7. Affirmative Action Should Not Be A Program Combat racism, with more racism. That is a strategy that seems so backward in thought that it should not be a program in modern American government and yet is still very active today. Affirmative action is defined as the practice of improving the educational and job opportunities of members of groups that have not been treated fairly in the past because of their race, sex, etc (Merriam Webster). Affirmative action creates a blatantly unfair advantage in college and job applications to non minority races and is ultimately a racist law. Affirmative action is most prominent in the College admission process, where its racial prioritizing is the most blatant. In 2005, it was found that the acceptance rates for African Americans at MIT were 98.7% higher than the acceptance rates for Whites or Asians (College Admission Officers). Affirmative Action was passed in 1961 by John Fitzgerald Kennedy to combat racial tensions in college admissions and the workforce. It gave an opportunity to minorities that may have been previously set back from racist laws and rules to have a chance at changing their lives for the better. This artificial raising of minority opportunities has lasted for more than two generations and has long outlived its purpose. Affirmative Action in its modern day use is racist at the expense of the non minority race(s), and was meant for minority advancement in a world where it was almost impossible. Today, all races are equal in the eyes of all the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Metaphorical Lesbian in Chopin’s The Awakening Essay The Metaphorical Lesbian in Chopin s The Awakening In The Metaphorical Lesbian: Edna Pontellier in The Awakening Elizabeth LeBlanc asserts that the character Edna Pontellier is an example of what Bonnie Zimmerman calls the metaphorical lesbian. It s important to distinguish between Zimmerman s concept of the metaphorical lesbian and lesbianism. The metaphorical lesbian does not have to act on lesbian feelings or even become conscious of herself as a lesbian. Instead, the metaphorical lesbian creates a space for woman identified relationships and experiences in a heterosexually hegemonic environment. In LeBlanc s words, I am suggesting...that the presence of lesbian motifs and manifestations in the text offers a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She looks at the ways that Edna associates with Adele Ratignolle and Madesmoiselle Reisz differently, but towards the same purpose. In this case, Mademoiselle Reisz represents the actual lesbian and one possible way of life for Edna while Adele represents what she is leaving behind. She examines how Adele Ratignolle is constructed as an ideal woman mother, but that she becomes an individual subject when she relates to Edna through woman identified contact. Edna finds no solace in the literal spaces in which her metaphorical lesbian identity can reside. Neither can other heterosexual options fulfill her desire as the metaphorical lesbian. The reason why Edna eventually rejects her fantasies with both Alcee Arobin and Robert Lebrun is that they offered only a re establishment of her relationship with Leonce. They were different men, but presented the same scenario. LeBlanc argues, instead, that Edna chooses the sea as her metaphorical lesbian lover. Therefore, the ending is a triumph rather than a tragedy. Essential to LeBlanc s analysis of how Edna becomes the metaphorical lesbian and climaxes in her metaphorical love at the end of the story is Edna s gradual recognition of her changed self. One of the examples of Edna s reconstruction is the emphasis on her physical body (an interesting analysis ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 1973, the U.S Supreme Court case of Roe vs Wade, abortion is a legal choice for pregnant women (Center for Reproductive Rights, 2003). However, in some countries like Philippine, Chile, Nigeria, etc. Abortion is noticeably illegal (Center for Reproductive Rights, 2003). In addition, having abortion is a very risky taken because women lose a lot of blood and especially feeling pain. (BMC Women s health, 2013). For example, raising a child is absolutely not an easy process because it needs time, money and providing love to children. If abortion is legal the unwanted baby is not suffering from living in an unhappy live. However, there are several reasons that abortion should not be legal. Firstly, women choose termination of pregnancy because of the gender selective. The study from 2000 to 2014 shows that there were 24 million girls have been missing because of sex selective abortion Based on this natural ratio, there should have been 47 million more boys than girls born since 2000. Instead, because of sex selective abortions, there were 71 million more boys than girls born. (World Population Institute, 2000 2014).For instance, in some countries like India, China and etc. people prefer boys than girls because daughters maybe considered as burden to the parents and especially, an expensive dowry is needed once when she is married. Meanwhile, sons alone inherit property, conduct funeral rites and carry on the family name. • 10. As With Any Other Comparative Analysis, This Essay Will As with any other comparative analysis, this essay will discuss the similarities between two elements. The elements in this situation are the Republic of Ireland and the United States of America. The three specific ways that these two countries can be compared are via: economic and political outlook, social and cultural issues, and resources and work culture. Additionally, each country is known throughout the world. Primarily because of their business structure. The first factor that will be addressed is economic and political outlook. In the judicial branch, both countries have a Supreme Court ( The World Factbook: IRELAND , 2017, Pg. 1). Whose role is to hear legal cases of significant magnitude to the country and/or its citizens. One key difference is that in Ireland the judges in the Supreme Court cannot serve past age 70 , whereas in the United States the judges are appointed for life ( The World Factbook: IRELAND , 2017, Pg. 1). Hence, the age of justices varies between these two republics. These three major branches of government can also overlap at times to provide a peaceful resolution or to resolve active disputes. Now for the economic outlook of these two countries. This comparing, and contrasting segment is more difficult than the political outlook. Since, these two countries do vary quite significantly in terms of population and size. For instance, Ireland s population as of July 2016 was just below five million, which is incomparable to the roughly 324 million United States population ( The World Factbook: IRELAND , 2017, Pg. 1). That means the Irish population could be added about 65 times to reach the American population. However, these two nations do have some similarities. In the novel, Wild Thorns, written by Sahar Khalifeh there are a number of examples of shifting narrative perspective, which helps Sahar Khalifeh give a more balanced description and view of the Occupation for the reader. Sahar Khlaifeh conveys shifting narrative perpective through dialogue and internal monologue. In particular we see different and conflicting views on the Occupation between Usama and Adil, who are both cousins, with a conflicting relationship. This example really puts emphasis on the fact that there is disagreement and disgust from Usama towards the Occupation. Sahar Khalifeh uses exclamatory statements well in this novel to show characters opinions. Another example of internal thoughts are shown, this time with Adil, adil was looking at him in digust! . In this part of the text it refers to Adil looking at Usama in disgust. This is very useful in showing that both characters have conflict between each other which is based on the Occupation and the contrasting opinions from each other. This address was given in Beijing, the capital of China, on September 5, 1995 at the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women. Clinton s expertise on the topic also helps her credibility. Clinton states, Over the past 25 years, I have worked persistently on issues relating to women, children, and families. Her providing the amount of time she has worked with women s rights and that she has worked continuously on these issues makes her more credible. Being a woman provides enough credibility to be able to speak on the rights of women, but traveling to other countries and seeing how their women are treated contributes a proper understanding of how dire the situation truly is. A final element which makes this speech effective is the use of style. Towards the middle of Clinton s speech, she is talking about the violation of human rights. After months of devastating warfare between the Aztecs and the Spanish as well as the infection of smallpox into the Aztec population, the Spanish conquered New Spain (Mexico) as their own, resulting in the Spanish occupation and rebuilding of Tenochtitlan. The reshaping of the city was an arduous and complex feat to say the least, as Hernan Cortés faced many challenges following the satisfying victory of the conquest. In order to determine these various challenges involved in post conquest Mexico, one must assess the various feats Cortés struggled through as well as Carlos I s attempts to deal with the chaos in Mexico. The most decisive endeavours that the Spaniards faced included: fixing a city of ruins, incorporating the indigenous peoples into society, and creating a Christian basis throughout the land. Overall, the chaos and lack of order among the initial framework of New Spain was easily overcome as the communal effort of the Spaniards led to the creation of their empire through rebuilding a city from ruins after the conquests. Winter Wheat Research Paper Stichler and Livingston (1999) previously stated that a major advantage of winter wheat compared with other small grain species that could be grown for winter forage production is its excellent tolerance to abiotic stresses including cold and drought. In addition, wheat forage has relatively high nutritive values including high protein, energy values, minerals, and low fiber concentrations, compared with barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), oat (Avena sativa L.), and rye (Secale cereale L.) forages. • 22. The Relevance Of Photosynthesis And Nature The Relevance Of Photosynthesis To Nature The natural light that shines onto the Earth is said to be the driving force behind all life. It s fascinating to find out that the green matter around us that we tend to take for granted is mankind s source of energy which is a necessity for every living being even in its lowest form. We can literally define photosynthesis as synthesis with the help of light . It is also defined as the basic process of life whereby plants absorb energy from sunlight and through a series of processes convert that energy to chemical energy that is later consumed by other living entities. As Julius Robert Mayer asserts, Nature has put itself the problem how to catch in flight light streaming to the earth and to store the most elusive of all powers in rigid form. This turns out to be an economic provision to which the existence of mankind is inexorably bound. (Rabinowitch and Govindjee, 9). We will examine how this process keeps our planet alive and will also demonstrate how plants distribute energy to all members of the ecosystem through a series of chain reactions. The following chemical equation gives us a general overview of the entire process: CO2 + H2O + ENERGY (PHOTONS) CX (H2 O) y + O2 This means carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O) from the atmosphere together with kinetic energy from the sun that results in the variable carbohydrate group (CX (H2 O) y) and oxygen (O2 ). It doesn t help that commonly used lights in parking garages produce an eerie off white color that disorients the customer. However, this can be changed by using clean reflective surfaces on the ceiling and walls and by using LED lighting. Here is how you benefit from this change: More Attractive to Your Customers Bright lighting elevates the mood of your customers and makes them feel safer. The feeling of safety that people experience in daylight is both real and psychological. This feeling is reproduced in parking garages brightly lit with LEDs. LED lights closely resemble daylight and therefore produce similar psychological feelings. The improved lighting also makes the area more attractive and upscale. Poor lighting is a common reason property owners are required to pay damages in these lawsuits. The above benefits are further enhanced by clean, white reflective wall and ceiling surfaces. This disperses light and increases the overall illumination. The right choice of paint or surface treatment will also repel dirt and soot buildup, which diminish the garage illumination over time. Layman s terms suggest that fog is a low hovering cloud which limits the visibility at ground level in a wide variety of intensity. From personal experience, fog may prevent you from locating your own home, or may simply cause the air to feel moist. Fog forms when the difference between air temperature and dew point is generally less than 4 °F. Fog begins to form when water vapor condenses into tiny liquid water droplets suspended in the air, usually also clinging to pollutants or naturally occurring particles (ex: dust, salt, etc.) Water vapor is added to the air by: wind convergence into areas of upward direction, precipitation, daytime heating which evaporates water from the surface of large bodies of water, oceans or wetlands; transpiration from plants, cool or dry air moving over warmer water, and lifting air over mountains. Think of fog as a lower rendition of the cloud form stratus; meaning it is a lower deck that occurs when a cool air mass is confined under a warm air mass. 2. Different types of fogs? Foggiest place in the United States? Fog can form in many ways dependent on what caused the cooling and how the condensation occurred. One of the first, and most abundant, neurotransmitters to be discovered is acetylcholine, often abbreviated ACh (Cherry). This was first discovered by a German biologist, Otto Loewi, in 1921 who later won a Nobel Prize for his findings (Boeree). Acetylcholine is present in both inhibitory functions as well as excitatory functions, which means that it can both speed up and slow down nerve signals ( Acetylcholine ). • 36. Leonardo Da Vinci s Lady With Unicorn In 1934 1936 Raphael restored a female portrait Lady with Unicorn. Leonardo Da Vinci had painted this piece in the year 1505. Leonardo was a high renaissance painter and this picture is a high renaissance piece. The time period of when it was created and the idealized figure, clarity, and bright colors depict the type of renaissance piece. In the portrait a lady with long blonde hair, and blue eyes is holding a greenish colored unicorn in her lap, which gives the portrait its name. It was an oil painting that was applied to a wooden canvas. This piece was actually inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci s Mona Lisa (Young women with Unicorn , n.d.). The subject in the portrait has been identified as Saint Catherine of Alexandria. The painting was attributed to Raphael when he restored it. Removal of a heavy repainting revealed the unicorn in this portrait. The unicorn is a representation of purity in the medieval romance in place of Catherine s wheel. In the painting the five elements of renaissance perspective are all portrayed. The Lady with Unicorn shows linear perspective, aerial perspective, diminution of size, and overlap. The Lady with Unicorn shows one point linear perspective in the slanted line on the far left of the railing behind her that foes backward toward a single vanishing ... The real problem is that Republicans mistrust environmental science, and nowhere is there a clearer example of this mistrust than the hearing held by the Subcommittee on environmental regulation in 1995. SCIENTIFIC COURT A large component of the Republicans Contract with American was to establish a new paradigm for environmental policy and environmental law. Republicans believed that the environmental regulation that had happened in the United States lacked sound scientific evidence. They believed that in an effort to pass environmental regulation Democratic Congressmen, Senators, and the President had suppressed those scientists whose views undermined environmental science. As Democratic Congressmen George E. Brown stated, they (Republicans) allege that science, particularly environmental science, has been distorted to serve political purposes. 2 This Republican conviction became apparent when Republicans took over Capitol hill in 1994. No other event more clearly demonstrates Republicans opinion of environmental science than the 104th Congressional Subcommittee on Energy and the Environment hearings in 1995. Dana Rohrabacher (R Calif.), chairman of the Subcommittee in Energy and the Environment, in 1995 indicated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Middlesex by Jeffry Eugenides Middlesex by Jeffry Eugenides is a book about Calliope Cal Stephanides. In the beginning of the book, Cal, as he likes to be referred to as, tells us about his condition. Cal has a 5 Alpha Reductase pseudohermaphrodite which is, simply put, a condition that affects the sexual development of males before the birth of the child and also during puberty. In Middlesex, incestuous marriages were secretly accepted among the villagers which resulted in Cal being conceived by cousins. Before Cal s birth, the tradition of his family was gender prediction by his grandmother, Desdemona Stephanides. It seemed to be a traditional thing for the family from the Greek roots. When it was time to predict Tessie s, Cal s mother, baby, Desdemona declared that the child would be a boy. Milton, Cal s father, disagreed because there was no way the baby could be a boy scientifically. This could also be based on the fact that Tessie and Milton wanted a baby girl. Until the age of sixteen, Cal was raised as a girl even though he had a male brain biologically. The fact that Calliope was a child of incest was a huge factor on why he was born with the condition he was born with. 5 Alpha Reductace, as stated earlier, is a condition in which people are born male but their bodies fail to produce enough dihydrotestosterone (DHT). A shortage of DHT disrupts the formation of external sex organs before birth which is why it is understandable that Cal s parents raised him as a girl. The thing is, ...
