The Validity Of Novelty
Novelty refers to things that are new and unusual to the general public, and with novelty there is a
need to know more about it and be able to categorize it in some way. As human beings, we are
ridiculously curious and have this need to give everything its place in a way. When it comes to the
subject of transgender identities those two traits tend to cause some issues. Though curiosity is not a
bad thing necessarily and it is actually good that people would want to learn more about something
that is new to them, the problem with how this curiosity is approached. When curiosity is applied to
novel concepts such as transgender identities, people in those communities are not treated as much as
people when the are questioned but in a more objectified

How Creativity Has Been Applied to a Business Idea or Problem
Individual report
How creativity has been applied to a business idea or problem
To make a business grow and achieve productive and efficient results you need to invoke creativity
which has always been an essential business skill. Since long time creativity has been applied to a
business world as companies seek to use it in all parts of the organization to make it gain more profits
and to be exceptional from others. A business person has to find unique solutions every day and he has
to know how to react to situation creatively. Richard Florida (2002) stated human creativity is the
ultimate economic resource. The ability to come up with new ideas and better ways of doing things is
ultimately what raises productivity and thus living ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Companies have started to use personality tests in the past five years so that they can find a potential
employee s strengths and weaknesses. If questions and answers are quite accurate and test is done
properly it can help an employer to find more about person s advantages and disadvantages. It is very
important to know because one of the most important points is that most of personality tests help to
recognize unqualified candidates. Although experts warn that many personality assessments don t
deliver what they promise, legitimate scientifically validated tests are helping employers evaluate job
candidates to select those best suited for particular positions. Other tests are designed to measure
intelligence, honesty, management aptitude and other qualities.
Napoleon Hill stated ideas are the beginning points of all fortunes. When you have a great business
idea it is not enough just have it somewhere in your brain, the second thing to do is to realize it in
other words it is called idea feasibility. Same as this American author stated by having a successful
idea you can open doors to new opportunities and attract fortune. The idea is like a new product which
can be applied to a new business. The more successful the product is the better results it will give in

Why Is Socrates Foolish
Is the great civil rights activist a fool for being persistent in what they believe? They would argue that
you are foolish in your decision to not be persistent. So who would we be to declare Socrates a fool?
Before you can truly make a solid decision on whether or not you believe Socrates is foolish, you must
have a brief understanding of Socrates mindset. Socrates is put in a sticky position where he must
decide if he will be true to himself or to his passion. Socrates belief in justice is firm and directly
correlates to his decision to stay in Athens and be persecuted. Socrates character is a reminder of
maybe the greatest civil rights activist ever. Rather than viewing Socrates as foolish, I believe he is a
hero in his own right. After a solid understanding of what Socrates was trying to accomplish even in
his willingness to accept his crueler punishment, you will see that Socrates is far from foolish.
Socrates is actually really wise, and may have just been the wisest of his time.
The question could easily be, are you a coward for not wanting to accept your fate? The most effective
way to evaluate this question is if you equate this situation to a more modern and up to date situation
in your own life. People do not often give their true opinion on things until the situation ... Show more

comparison may strike many as over the top, but the point can surely be proven with their similarities.
There is a principle of selflessness that is apparent in both figures, by them both having knowledge

Gatsby Delusion
In the article, The Gatsby Delusion, Sarah Churchwell discusses the American Dream and it relates to
F. Scott Fitzgerald s, The Great Gatsby. Churchwell says that the term, American Dream is used to
represent our failures in life rather than the successes. During the 1920 s, the nation s wealth was not
evenly spread because the richest owned forty percent of the nation s wealth while more than half
lived in poverty. James Truslow Adams wrote a novel about the American Dream and stated that the
belief in the common man and the insistence upon his having, as far as possible, equal opportunity in
every way with the rich one. However, his ideas were misinterpreted. Churchwell says that the
American Dream is used as a nightmare and is causing lots of spending and gambling. She uses
Gatsby s parties as a way to relate the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Towards the beginning, she argues that the American dream represents our failures. I agree with that
point because the dream was something most people could not achieve and it was mainly a struggle.
The American Dream has become the nation s favourite way to discuss widespread inequality and
downward social mobility. This means that the wealthy people are able to succeed and accomplish
their dream because they have more money. In the Great Gatsby, Gatsby was not able to fulfill his
dream of being with Daisy due to the fact he was poor. Churchwell emphasizes Fitzgerald s
knowledge from the 1920 s and continues to relate it to today s society. She says that Adams said that
the dead dream will always fight on, as we try to touch the intangible, struggling unhappily,
undespairingly towards what we keep losing. Fighting for a dream that is most likely not going to
occur because of financial difficulties creates tension with those who can afford anything they want.
The more money one has, the easier it is to succeed because the best education and help is given to

Blame In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Blame is to find fault with or to hold responsible. Habitually, people resort to holding responsibilities
over others in order to eliminate the blame off of themselves. With a conclusion as tragic as the one in
Shakespeare s famous play, Romeo and Juliet, the factors to blame for their death are countless, but
the most remarkable factors to blame for the young couple s deaths are the Capulet family and Romeo
and Juliet themselves.
In a way, Romeo and Juliet are to blame for their own death. Impulsiveness, such as that displayed by
Romeo and Juliet, may lead people to perform dodgy actions. In Act 1 of Romeo and Juliet, the young
couple meet at a party hosted by the Capulets where they unquestionably fall in love in love with each
other. Romeo ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The young Capulet was raised in a household where her father would abuse Juliet both verbally and
emotionally, including some suggestions of physical abuse. When Lady Capulet announces to Juliet
that she is not to be sad for her cousin s death, because she is to be wed to Paris, Juliet refuses to do
such as she still loves Romeo. As Capulet hears of Juliet s decline to marriage, he bursts into a rage,
calling Juliet worthless for being his only child and not doing anything for the sake of his status.
Capulet s anger goes to extreme lengths as he threatens to drag her to the church and expresses his
anger at Juliet by announcing he feels the urge to hurt her. As a result of experiencing this damage
throughout her childhood, Juliet may have viewed Romeo as a way to escape her father and his
abusive ways. In this case, Juliet stabbed herself after seeing Romeo dead, because she could not have
survived a world where she must return back to her father and Paris without Romeo. Not only was her
father a damaging influence on Juliet, but her mother and nurse affected her in a negative way. Act 1,
Scene 3 opens with Lady Capulet asking Nurse for Juliet so that she can ask Juliet for her opinion on
getting married. Before Nurse makes awfully inappropriate comments about Juliet, Lady Capulet
claims Juliet is only

Argumentative Essay Smoking
The numbers of people who smoke have increased over the years. Although they are equipped with
the knowledge of how unhealthy smoking can be, people still choose to smoke. It is a personal choice
and a highly addictive habit. Smokers choose to subject themselves to the health risks of smoking. It is
not for the government or any third party to dictate whether or not a person should be allowed to
smoke. However, smoking does not only affect the smoker negatively. It also affects all the people
around those who smoke because when people smoke in public the smoke travels everywhere through
the air, and the negative effects of the smoke affects all living, breathing creatures. Therefore smoking
should be banned in all public places.
People who smoke in public portray a bad example. Children are easily influenced in their growing
stages. They imitate the people around them because they cannot differentiate between right and
wrong. Therefore they perceive the actions they see around them as the way thing should be. Besides
that, teenagers who see people smoke in public take it as precedent to start smoking as well. There is a
saying that goes monkey see monkey do , which tells us that people imitate the actions of others as
they see it in their daily lives. Teenagers happen to think that smoking makes a person cool . When
they see adults doing it on the streets, it strengthens their belief in the coolness of smoking. Some
teenagers think that smoking marks their transition

The Household Circle Of India
1.The household circle in France and that of India display numerous similarities. However, it may be
that such is the case in most countries where families are kept together. In India, distant relatives like
grandparents and cousins either settle collectively or maintain a near distance if living separately.
Indians are not as likely as Americans to relocate away from their families and, when it is
economically possible, prefer to stay in the same geographic area. Though it seems that the French
differentiate from that of my own culture due to that fact that they maintain relations with those of the
enlarged household till the third or fourth generation. Also, on page 60 Au Contraire mentions that the
extended kinsfolk gather together for a Sunday lunch. This is generally not seen in India as members
of the lengthened household may reside adjacent to each other, but do not meet as often as the French.
Nonetheless, as an Indian American, my society maintains most of the aspects of the Indian
community and a little of the typical American culture. The French concept of the state of a young
adult is similar to my cultural structure due to the fact that the youth gravitate to stay nearby parents
until marriage in order to remain under their watchful eye and to refrain from an involvement of
morally disliked activities. Similarly, as mentioned on page 60 of the book Au Contraire, in France,
children attend universities in close proximity to their homes and lean to disapprove of

The symbol the butterflies in The Things They Carried by Tim O Brien is significant because it
represents hope and Elysian even though the main idea is to show the emotional and physical burdens

they are mentioned even though they were in war it was actually a beautiful place, ravines and gorges
and fast moving rivers and waterfalls and exotic butterflies and steep cliffs. I believe he was saying
even in all this warfare it is still a beautiful place. The second time it was mentioned is the the chapter

Offered And Bewildered Summary
The text, Bothered and Bewildered by Katha Pollitt started from the statistical data about unwed
mothers and developed to the discussion of marriage and social discrimination between male and
female.
The author mentions the percentage who have become mothers without marrying has more than
doubled in the last decade, and public criticize the Feminism, promiscuity, the media, the 60 s for this
increase. However, the author asks us to consider if marriage no longer serves woman very well.
Historically, women wed men to gain money and stable social status, yet in the 1990s , during which
this article was wrote, women are getting the right to earn money themselves, thus they are able to be
independence from men. Furthermore, by revealing the feeble purpose beneath the discussion about
unwed mother by the public, asking woman to self sacrifice, the author shows us that the best method
in helping unwed mothers is treat two sexes equally so that they will both have the ability to be
independence. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The increased percentage of unwed mothers in America during 1990s is largely due to the females
born in 1970 s. They were influenced by their parents, who have been through the World War II. One
major influence of World War II on America society is the increase in female status. During the war,
many men, who used to be labor in economic, were sent to the battlefield and this lack of labor in

Distribution Channel Analysis
Although the website allows automated ordering and delivering, there are times when customers may
have questions or find difficulty ordering products on the company s website. Customer service is
important in sales volume and customer satisfaction. It is crucial that Organic Vita Hair offers constant
customer service to their current and potential customers. Two of the company s service
representatives are dedicated to these types of inquiries on a constant basis while the other two
representatives are in charge of sales and order fulfillment.
There are three specific distribution channels in which Organic Vita Hair will use: The company s own
website platform, E Bay, and Amazon. This way, the company can flood its brand and its image into

recognition, then the company will revert back to focusing solely on their website. When the company

The Communist Manifesto Calling On The Workers Of The World
Few events in history capture the attention of scholars and the general populace alike more than
revolutionary contentious politics. Revolts and social movements have for centuries brought about the
most radical of changes to the political order of societies, at times even engulfing entire regions of the
world in a contagious, fevered upheaval. Revolutionaries have fought not only against political
systems and institutions such as aristocratic and colonial rule; they have also fought for their beliefs,
values, and ideals. In 1848, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels published The Communist Manifesto
calling on the workers of the world to unite. Revolutionaries radicalized by the ideas of liberalism and
nationalism took to the barricades as socialists promoting the concept of regional and world revolution
helping to spark the modern spread of the notion referred to as revolutionary waves . What factors are
attributed with influencing an individual to rise up against an entrenched political system and possibly
risk their life to completely upend the historical order of things and wipe the slate clean to enable
present and future generations to create their own reality? Until recently, the power of the people and
their ability to mobilize and demand had often been underestimated. Thomas Schelling once reflected
that tyrants and subjects are in somewhat symmetrical positions. Subjects are capable of denying the
tyrant most of what it wants through refusing to collaborate. The

Critic As Host
J. Hillis Miller s theoretical essay A Critic as Host demonstrates a deconstructive reading s
understanding of how a citation acts within an extraneous text, and whether the reading of it could be
univocal or equivocal. Miller introduces the relationship between a citation and the criticism it dwells
in as equal to the relationship of a parasite and host, where he defines the parasite as actively
consuming the host. However, Miller does not initially confirm which text is equivalent to parasite
and which to host, rather he explores this relationship by building on the structuralist idea of the
binary, the idea that the meaning of an object or idea is held in place by its opposition or counterpart.
Miller uses the foundation of structuralism

Symbols Of The Four Horsemen
The four horsemen are symbols of the decline which describes the political, economic, and social
framework that society is built upon. They are said to appear when the first four seals of the
apocalypse are opened. There are seven seals in all, but the first four contain the horsemen. The only
thing that opens the seals is the lamb, better known as Jesus Christ. There are many theories of when
they have appeared in the past and where they will appear in the future. There are different
interpretations of what and who they represent. No one really knows why they come or when. My goal
in this paper is to explain to you who the four horsemen are, when they have and will they will come,
along with what they represent. In the Bible, they say that any man, woman, or child who has accepted
Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior will be spared from the wrath of God, That they will be saved

This was obviously symbolizing war. In 1873 until 1879 was the Panic of 1873, which was a time of

An Essay About The Parthenon
The Parthenon, once a magnificent work of art, has long been an archeological ruin with pieces of the
sculptures that were once a part of it on display in many European museums and, of course, in Greece.
Those locations other than Greece have been the center of a long going debate regarding whether the
sculptures should remain in those places or if they should be sent back to whence they came. The
sculptures are a part of Greek history, and they were once attached to The Parthenon, created as a
temple for Greek goddess Athena. Greece should have the right to put all their pieces from this
creation on display in their own museums and buildings. The marbles began in Greece, and they
should end up back in Greece as well. The area on which the Parthenon was built was not always a
barren rock hill. The area surrounding the Parthenon used to be a village complete with houses and
gardens. It was like this until the 1830s when the Greeks won their war for independence from Turkish
rule. There was then a new ascension to the throne by a Bavarian Prince named Otto. He wanted to
find a way to showcase symbols of patriotism in a country that was starting anew at the end of the war.
Because of this, the area around the Parthenon is now The Acropolis hill, which is no longer a village,

The Best Blessings Of Emma In Jane Austen s Emma
Jane Austen begins the novel Emma by stating, Emma Woodhouse, handsome, clever, and rich, with a
comfortable home and happy disposition, seemed to unite some of the best blessings of existence, and
had lived nearly twenty one years in the world with very little to distress or vex her (1) immediately
giving readers the impression that Emma is a young woman whom the readers should respect and
grow to love throughout the novel. As we continue reading, however, we learn that while Emma has a
good reputation and a circle of people who love her and want the best for her, she is extremely flawed.
In the article, The Darkness in Emma, Anita Soloway states, for Emma, beauty, cleverness, and wealth
prove to be mixed blessings at best, for they foster the conceit of arrogance that lead her to hurt others
and threaten her own happiness (86) which ties into my argument that Emma s good reputation is not
necessarily based on her character, but instead, the lifestyle she lives, which is a similar concept for
Tom in Tom Jones. Tom Jones is described and seen as a imprudent bastard because of his rank in the
social ladder, ultimately landing him in jail. He is introduced with the statement, as we determined
when we first sat down to write this History, to flatter no man; but to guide our Pen throughout by the
Directions of Truth, we are oblige to bring our Heroe on the Stage in a much more disadvantageous

Bureaucratic Administrators
The issue of political involvement for Bureaucratic Administrators lies with the pressure of remaining
neutral in their goals, agendas and passions. Many people that there is a distinct line drawn for these
administrators to keep politics out of their work. Although, neutrality must be upheld as the
administrators work to meet their outlined goals, those goals can only be met through some type of
political involvement. The chapter by Milakovich outlines the overarching purpose for public
administration to bridge the gap between action and government. This connection is best displayed in
the ever changing role that public administration has played in United States history. When discussing
the seven principles for public administration, Gulick ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the chapter, the role of the public is discussed as an important attribute to the success of these
agencies and administrators. Public administration is perceived more often by citizens as another
component of government, albeit generally the least respected component of government. (Peters,
2001, pg. 41) There is an expectation of the people for administrators to have a role in politics despite
the neutral stance that politicians, interest groups and history has told them to have. It is apparent that
for the legitimacy of these agencies and administrators political involvement is necessary. The
political involvement of bureaucratic administrators can boost their reputation with the public.
Moreover, it can also impact the relationship that the people of society have with the government
itself. The more involvement these agencies and administrators have within the political system
directly correlates to the public activism in politics as well. Bureaucracy takes on a role by promoting
community and political activism, and building trust in others and the political process. (Goodsell,

Persuasive Essay On Euthanasia
Euthanasia, a relatively new word, but its contents as old as humanity itself. In other words, it is

final phase of life, people should have the right to decide if they want to die from the hands of a
doctor. Euthanasia is a far quieter alternative of leaving the world than drastic suicide for incurable
diseases and inhuman sufferers. The doctor should be able to comply with a reasoned request of a
patient without being sued in the future. To illustrate, 86 percent of public support euthanasia for the
terminally ill or on life support ( Euthanasia Statistics ). Euthanasia should be legalized through the
whole world because people should be able to decide whether they want to live or die. A person
suffering from a serious illness that is getting worse and worse every day and causes that the person
has to stay in a hospital bed while having a cruel pain should have a right to euthanasia. Unfortunately,
this assisted death is forbidden in most countries all over the world. However, according to The
Economist newspaper in some countries in Europe such as Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg

Hemoglobin Analysis Lab
Introduction: On August 20, a lab was started doing different test involving blood. The objective of the
experiment was to test white blood cells (WBC), red blood cells (RBC), platelet counts, differential of
WBCs, a hematocrit, a hemoglobin analysis, and also various calculated indices. All the test will
indicate if a person s blood levels are normal or if the person has an abnormal blood count. To explain
what blood is, blood is a red liquid that circulates throughout the body. It also transports oxygen rich
blood throughout the body, takes nutrients from specific cells and waste to be expelled out of the body.

Colonel Sanders Research Paper
The person you admire can be anyone. It doesn t matter if they are alive or dead or you have never
met them. You can still admire them. The person I admire is Colonel Sanders. Yes I said it, the guy
from Kentucky Fried Chicken. In photos he always looks humble and strong. He had the signature
white beard and mustache. Pared to together with a nice looking glasses and clothing. Colonel Sanders
had some bad luck some of his life. He was broke and did not have a job sometimes. He worked but
then got fired. So I call that bad luck! He was quite tall and used a cane. He was born in 1890 and died
in 1980. He lived a mostly good, long life. The good thing about him is that he never gave up and
always tried to get new jobs. Why would I admire a person with bad characteristics? Here are some of
the Colonel s characteristics. His first trait is generosity. After his dad died, he had to help care for his

Why Did Robert Borden Use Conscription In 1917
Why Using Conscription in 1917 was a Good Idea
During war time 1917, the conditions overseas were not ideal. Many men were dying, making more
volunteers necessary, while the numbers of volunteers were dropping rapidly. Originally, Prime
Minister Robert Borden promised that there would be no conscription during the First World War, but,
due to numbers of volunteers dropping and promising Britain more troops, he created the Military
Services Act that allowed conscription, which called all men ages 20 45 to war in 1917, then was
passed and effective on January 1st, 1918. This leads to the controversy, was using conscription in
World War 1 necessary? Some people argued that it was not necessary for the act to be passed and for

Soldiers were dying quickly, conditions in the trenches were very poor and Britain was losing power
fast which caused Britain to ask for more troops. Specifically, after the Battle of Somme s Canada was
at a loss of men and a lot of current soldiers were wounded, and Canada needed more men to be able
to fight the Germans so they would not be able to get an edge over the British Army and possibly take
over Britain and later Canada. Borden then visited Europe and returned with his decision after seeing
that In May that year, prime minister Robert Borden returned to Canada from Europe and decided the
country couldn t replenish the depleted battle lines without conscription. This all helped Borden make
final choice to create the bill in 1917 and call the men to war. The reinforcements that Canada
provided would later help win Britain win the first World War and keep a good relationship between
Canada and Britain. Therefore, the reinforcements that were sent, increased Canada and Britain s
morale s toward each other. Canada was part of the British Crown, which meant that they were forced
to war in hand with Britain in 1914. When Britain started to lose men in 1917 Prime Minister Robert
Borden flew to Europe and promised Britain to give them more troops, whilst the volunteer numbers

Joseph Stalin s Ignorance
On the death of Vladimir Lenin in 1924, competition emerged between leading Bolsheviks Leon
Trotsky and Joseph Stalin to succeed as Soviet leader. There were several reasons why Stalin, rather
than Trotsky, succeeded Lenin such as Trotsky s ignorance; Stalin s cunning; Trotsky s arrogance;
Stalin s ever increasing influence and Trotsky s relaxed attitude. In this essay I will be exploring the
contribution of Stalin s cunning, and both Trotsky s arrogance and ignorance that resulted in Stalin s
succession and Trotsky s fall from grace. Despite starting his political journey as a supporter of the
Menshevik wing (peaceful communism), Leon Trotsky became one of the paramount powers of the
Bolshevik party, leading their Red Army to victory during the Russian civil war of 1918 to 1921; so ...

A Formal Testing Strategy Is Crucial For Achieving Success...
A formal testing strategy is crucial for achieving success with mobile app testing. The information
above will definitely guide you in understanding the key focus points of this strategy, but here s a
closer look at the steps you should take. Narrow down the devices the app will use Mobile devices
present the most obvious challenge to mobile testing. There are countless devices out there consumers
could use to access your app and ensuring your app works on all of them can be difficult. Even though
your app might run on a single platform (such as iOS or Android), the number of devices will still be
high for guaranteeing specific device testing. This is especially the case with Android operating
systems. Remember that there are different versions of an operating system and you should decide
which operating system versions the app is supposed to work on. In order to handle the device
challenge, you can consider using one of the three strategies: Only test using real devices Only test
using emulated devices Using a combination of the above As we ve mentioned before, you want the
emphasis to be on real devices and manual testing. It would be a good idea to focus first on some of
the main devices in your category. For example, find out the most sold and used mobile devices that
use Android, check which operating system version is currently popular and begin testing. For the
devices, which are not as popular, you can use emulated devices as the main testing method.

Bike Lanes
Dear Tom,
I chose to address the problem of not having bike lanes at UNR because it is something that I see
affects students everyday throughout campus. As not only a person who walks, but also rides
throughout campus, I am able to see from both sides of the spectrum why this is a problem. Not only
can it be a safety issue, but it is an inconvenience for anyone here at the University. I was able to
identify the stakeholders because I am one. Anyone here at the University is a stakeholder because
everyone on campus is affected by this problem. Many students, staff, and faculty are concerned with
the safety and wellbeing throughout campus, so with this problem being a major inconvenience I was
able to see how it may be concerning to some people. The most valuable sources of information I used
when researching this problem was the physical field research, establishing a survey, and the archival
research, meaning researching other schools and seeing how they handle or handled the situation. I
was able to ask many students whether they see not having bike lanes as a problem and every single
student I asked agreed. Although, it was a major problem being able to perform this field research. It

campus could become much more safe and efficient, allowing the university to move up in the ranks

Compare And Contrast Langston Hughes And I Hear America...
Langston Hughes wrote a poem that some believe is in response to a poem Walt Whitman made. Walt
Whitman s poem I hear America Singing is basically a description of the people who made up
America at the time. The mothers, the carpenters, the masons, the shoemakers, the wood cutters, etc,
were all the different types of people that made up what America, said of the poem. With Langston
Hughes s poem I, Too, Sing America , the poem is making a sort of claim that Hughes s and blacks
alike also have a right to feel patriotic towards and be a part of America. Both poems are pretty similar
to what they re subject is (America), but they are quite different when it comes to what exactly the two
poems are mainly focusing on. Hughes s poem builds on top of Whitman s poem in more ways than
one. Every single person with their described job in Whitman s poem was said to have been sung loud
and strong as to what they were doing when working, meaning that they took pride in how they
worked and what kind of work they did. With how there s so many types of people and jobs being
talked about in Whitman s poem, you would think it would include the lives of blacks and how they
have dealt with all the racism and stuff at the time (later on too). Hughes s poem is a type of add on to
Whitman s poem in the way of including the whole of black people into the mix, with many lines in
the poem stating things of which overall say that even if you re black you should still be allowed to
partake in things and be in an area without any prejudice towards your skin color.
Hughes s poem is more of an argument against that of the people (whites) back then who were
prejudice against blacks. With the first couple of lines of I, Too, Sing America , the lines mean that
even if he is sent to the kitchen when company comes, he ll still laugh and eat well and grow stronger
from the experience, not really seeing it as if it were bad but more of a motivation to stop it from
happening again. When coming to the lines of Tomorrow, I ll be at the table When company comes.
Nobody ll dare Say to me, Eat in the Kitchen, Then , the lines that are given here are just saying that
this time around he ll be at the table when the company and no one

The Lay Of Leithi Tolkien s Epic Fairy Tale
The Lay of Leithian: Tolkien s Epic Fairy Tale Audry Hepburn once said, If I m honest I have to tell
you I still read fairy tales, and I like them best of all. Often, a child s first introduction to literature
begins with fairy tales and which tends to resonate with them years later. Fairy tales then become a
story that is inspiring for children and nostalgic for adults. The fairy tale story varies in definition
between critics, yet it is always a form of fantasy. J.R.R Tolkien s fantasy novels The Hobbit, The
Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion follow clear structural patterns common among fairy tales.
One story in particular, Of Beren and Lúthien found within The Silmarillion, was originally to be

While the Victorian era saw fairies as diminutive creatures and fantastical worlds or adventures,
Tolkien s emphasis was on the mortal man. He writes in his essay, Faerie contains many things besides
elves and fays, and besides dwarfs, witches, trolls, giants, or dragons: It holds the seas, the sun, the
moon, the sky; and the earth, and all the things that are in it: tree and bird, water and stone, wine and
bread, and ourselves, mortal men, when we are enchanted (On Fairy Stories 4). Tolkien thus believed
that a fairy tale consisted of the entire world through an enchanted perspective, that even mortal men
are enchanted in a fairy tale. Within Of Beren and Lúthien, the protagonist is Beren who is a man in
love with Lúthien. Lúthien is the daughter of an Elf and a Maiar and is thus connected with the Valar,
the angels of Middle Earth and based off of Germanic and Greek/Roman Gods. Their love is thus
enchanted and Beren s quest to make Lúthien his is Heroic and full of enchantment. Tolkien also
writes, Stories that are actually concerned primarily with faries, that is with creatures that might also
in modern English be called elves, are relatively rare, and as a rule not very interesting. Most good
fairy stories are about the adventures of men in the Perilous Realm or upon its shadowy marches (On
Fairy Stories 4). Thus he stresses the importance of a fairy tale to emphasize the adventures of men
and not focus completely on the lives of elves or fairies. As well, the journey through the Perilous
Realm then becomes more enchanting and fantastical when completed by a

Why Is Nuclear Waste Bad For The Environment
Lately it seems as if if the Earth has been deteriorating. It is quite common to hear of the impact of the
overuse of energy sources. Because our population has abused the wonderful powers of energy, the
Earth is suffering from the aftermath. Environmental damage being one of its biggest consequences.
The use of energy can have positive effects if society learns how to manage it well. While nuclear
energy can generate plenty of electricity, it can easily be abused. Nuclear energy plants can
unfortunately be preferred targets for terrorists, also producing nuclear waste. Nuclear waste is bad for
the environment because it requires a dumping ground due to the fact that it cannot be processed. If
this continues, there will eventually be no more

Major Problems For The Livestock Industry Throughout The...
Introduction
Babesia parasites are obligate intraerythrocytic protozoa capable of invading a wide range of
vertebrate hosts, subsequently leading to serious economic problems for the livestock industry
throughout tropical and subtropical regions of the world (Homer et al., 2000;
Uilenberg, 2006). Bovine babesiosis is mainly caused by two species of bovine intraerythrocytic
protozoan parasites, Babesia bovis and Babesia bigemina. Infected animals in an acute stage have
symptoms of fever, anemia, hemoglobinuria, and sometimes resulting in death. In contrast, those in
chronic stages may become chronic carriers without clinical signs. Human and rodent babesiosis
caused by Babesia microti has emerged as a life threatening zoonosis in the world (Kjemtrup and
Conrad, 2000). Although infection usually is asymptomatic, immunocompromised and elder people
develop mild to moderate fever, headache, body aches, fatigue, and anorexia. Importantly, B. microti
has been used as an experimental model for studying novel chemotherapy (Aboulaila et al., 2012) and
host immune responses, the understanding of which is a prerequisite for developing an effective
vaccine against
Babesia parasites (Yokoyama et al., 2003).
Although several attempts have been made to develop a vaccine against babesiosis, no vaccine has yet
proven to be completely effective in preventing Babesia infection. Attenuated live vaccines lead to
significant decreases in mortality; however, they do not prevent the infection or

Reflection On Social Justice
Georg Christoph Lichtenberg once said I cannot say whether things will get better if we change; what
I can say is that they must change if they are to get better. Injustices can be explained as something
that is not to everybody s benefit, or simply something this is unfair. Going into this class, I did not
know much about social justice or cities in general. After being in it for a short 3 weeks, I have
learned a lot of new material and am excited to learn more. I believe that social justice is a
combination of the opportunities and freedoms within the different socioeconomic classes.
Growing up so close to Des Moines, I feel as if I have had plenty of experiences all of which helped
shape my views on social justice. I have lived in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are two things that immediately come to mind when I think about social justice in the real
world. Education is one. Typically, people are more prone to go to college if their parents or siblings
go to college. Going back to the topic of East Des Moines, East high school is not a school that is
looked well upon. The teachers are underpaid and most of the students do not care about their
education enough to go to class everyday. Knowing this, students from schools like that are less likely
to go on to college and get an education. This then leads to them not getting good jobs and making
enough money to support themselves. I believe that this is an injustice because those students do not
choose to go to schools like that, but they get started off on the wrong foot right from the start. People
look down on them because of the school they go to. The other thing I think about when I hear the
word social justice is Racism. Segregation is something that most people don t think is still a problem,
but unfortunately it is. They view segregation as an unfortunate holdover from a racist past, one that is
fading progressively overtime (Massey 1). African American people that live in rougher
neighborhoods, Chicago for example, are usually in the lower socioeconomic class. Being an African
American in the lower socioeconomic class makes it easy for white people to look down on them.

My Education
I am grateful to my parents because they made me understand that my education is the most valuable
thing I could ever have. My parents sacrificed many things for us to have a better life, and I won t let
them down. I was born in Zinapecuaro Michoacan, when I was seven years old I came to Salinas
California with all my family. I remembered when I was a child my dad used to come every year to
work on the fields. Then, he would go back each year for a short period of time, and I was waiting for
him with happiness. As I grew up I realized that my parents wanted me to have a better life which they

Socrates is put in a sticky position where he must decide if he will be true to himself or to his passion. Socrates belief in justice is firm and directly correlates to his decision to stay in Athens and be persecuted. Socrates character is a reminder of maybe the greatest civil rights activist ever. Rather than viewing Socrates as foolish, I believe he is a hero in his own right. After a solid understanding of what Socrates was trying to accomplish even in his willingness to accept his crueler punishment, you will see that Socrates is far from foolish. Socrates is actually really wise, and may have just been the wisest of his time. The question could easily be, are you a coward for not wanting to accept your fate? The most effective way to evaluate this question is if you equate this situation to a more modern and up to date situation in your own life. Churchwell says that the term, American Dream is used to represent our failures in life rather than the successes. During the 1920 s, the nation s wealth was not evenly spread because the richest owned forty percent of the nation s wealth while more than half lived in poverty. James Truslow Adams wrote a novel about the American Dream and stated that the belief in the common man and the insistence upon his having, as far as possible, equal opportunity in every way with the rich one. I agree with that point because the dream was something most people could not achieve and it was mainly a struggle. The American Dream has become the nation s favourite way to discuss widespread inequality and downward social mobility. This means that the wealthy people are able to succeed and accomplish their dream because they have more money. In the Great Gatsby, Gatsby was not able to fulfill his dream of being with Daisy due to the fact he was poor. Churchwell emphasizes Fitzgerald s knowledge from the 1920 s and continues to relate it to today s society. She says that Adams said that the dead dream will always fight on, as we try to touch the intangible, struggling unhappily, undespairingly towards what we keep losing. Habitually, people resort to holding responsibilities over others in order to eliminate the blame off of themselves. With a conclusion as tragic as the one in Shakespeare s famous play, Romeo and Juliet, the factors to blame for their death are countless, but the most remarkable factors to blame for the young couple s deaths are the Capulet family and Romeo and Juliet themselves. In a way, Romeo and Juliet are to blame for their own death. Impulsiveness, such as that displayed by Romeo and Juliet, may lead people to perform dodgy actions. As Capulet hears of Juliet s decline to marriage, he bursts into a rage, calling Juliet worthless for being his only child and not doing anything for the sake of his status. Capulet s anger goes to extreme lengths as he threatens to drag her to the church and expresses his anger at Juliet by announcing he feels the urge to hurt her. As a result of experiencing this damage throughout her childhood, Juliet may have viewed Romeo as a way to escape her father and his abusive ways. In this case, Juliet stabbed herself after seeing Romeo dead, because she could not have survived a world where she must return back to her father and Paris without Romeo. Not only was her father a damaging influence on Juliet, but her mother and nurse affected her in a negative way. Although they are equipped with the knowledge of how unhealthy smoking can be, people still choose to smoke. It is a personal choice and a highly addictive habit. Smokers choose to subject themselves to the health risks of smoking. It is not for the government or any third party to dictate whether or not a person should be allowed to smoke. However, smoking does not only affect the smoker negatively. It also affects all the people around those who smoke because when people smoke in public the smoke travels everywhere through the air, and the negative effects of the smoke affects all living, breathing creatures. Therefore smoking should be banned in all public places. People who smoke in public portray a bad example. Children are easily influenced in their growing stages. They imitate the people around them because they cannot differentiate between right and wrong. Therefore they perceive the actions they see around them as the way thing should be. Besides that, teenagers who see people smoke in public take it as precedent to start smoking as well. There is a saying that goes monkey see monkey do , which tells us that people imitate the actions of others as they see it in their daily lives. However, it may be that such is the case in most countries where families are kept together. In India, distant relatives like grandparents and cousins either settle collectively or maintain a near distance if living separately. Indians are not as likely as Americans to relocate away from their families and, when it is economically possible, prefer to stay in the same geographic area. Though it seems that the French differentiate from that of my own culture due to that fact that they maintain relations with those of the enlarged household till the third or fourth generation. Also, on page 60 Au Contraire mentions that the extended kinsfolk gather together for a Sunday lunch. This is generally not seen in India as members of the lengthened household may reside adjacent to each other, but do not meet as often as the French. Nonetheless, as an Indian American, my society maintains most of the aspects of the Indian community and a little of the typical American culture. The French concept of the state of a young adult is similar to my cultural structure due to the fact that the youth gravitate to stay nearby parents until marriage in order to remain under their watchful eye and to refrain from an involvement of morally disliked activities. The Communist Manifesto Calling On The Workers Of The World Few events in history capture the attention of scholars and the general populace alike more than revolutionary contentious politics. Revolts and social movements have for centuries brought about the most radical of changes to the political order of societies, at times even engulfing entire regions of the world in a contagious, fevered upheaval. Revolutionaries have fought not only against political systems and institutions such as aristocratic and colonial rule; they have also fought for their beliefs, values, and ideals. In 1848, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels published The Communist Manifesto calling on the workers of the world to unite. Revolutionaries radicalized by the ideas of liberalism and nationalism took to the barricades as socialists promoting the concept of regional and world revolution helping to spark the modern spread of the notion referred to as revolutionary waves . What factors are attributed with influencing an individual to rise up against an entrenched political system and possibly risk their life to completely upend the historical order of things and wipe the slate clean to enable present and future generations to create their own reality? Those locations other than Greece have been the center of a long going debate regarding whether the sculptures should remain in those places or if they should be sent back to whence they came. The sculptures are a part of Greek history, and they were once attached to The Parthenon, created as a temple for Greek goddess Athena. Greece should have the right to put all their pieces from this creation on display in their own museums and buildings. The marbles began in Greece, and they should end up back in Greece as well. The area on which the Parthenon was built was not always a barren rock hill. The area surrounding the Parthenon used to be a village complete with houses and gardens. This leads to the controversy, was using conscription in World War 1 necessary? Some people argued that it was not necessary for the act to be passed and for conscription to not ... Specifically, after the Battle of Somme s Canada was at a loss of men and a lot of current soldiers were wounded, and Canada needed more men to be able to fight the Germans so they would not be able to get an edge over the British Army and possibly take over Britain and later Canada. Borden then visited Europe and returned with his decision after seeing that In May that year, prime minister Robert Borden returned to Canada from Europe and decided the country couldn t replenish the depleted battle lines without conscription. This all helped Borden make final choice to create the bill in 1917 and call the men to war. • 29. Joseph Stalin s Ignorance On the death of Vladimir Lenin in 1924, competition emerged between leading Bolsheviks Leon Trotsky and Joseph Stalin to succeed as Soviet leader. There were several reasons why Stalin, rather than Trotsky, succeeded Lenin such as Trotsky s ignorance; Stalin s cunning; Trotsky s arrogance; Stalin s ever increasing influence and Trotsky s relaxed attitude. In this essay I will be exploring the contribution of Stalin s cunning, and both Trotsky s arrogance and ignorance that resulted in Stalin s succession and Trotsky s fall from grace. Despite starting his political journey as a supporter of the Menshevik wing (peaceful communism), Leon Trotsky became one of the paramount powers of the Bolshevik party, leading their Red Army to victory during the Russian civil war of 1918 to 1921; so ... In her book, Stalin: Man of Steel (1968), Elizabeth Roberts states that there was little doubt about the Red Army s support of Trotsky, should he try to seize power. However, he failed to use his popularity with the Red Army to his advantage because he did not recognise the threat of Stalin and the possible future need he could have had for them. The information above will definitely guide you in understanding the key focus points of this strategy, but here s a closer look at the steps you should take. Narrow down the devices the app will use Mobile devices present the most obvious challenge to mobile testing. There are countless devices out there consumers could use to access your app and ensuring your app works on all of them can be difficult. Even though your app might run on a single platform (such as iOS or Android), the number of devices will still be high for guaranteeing specific device testing. This is especially the case with Android operating systems. Remember that there are different versions of an operating system and you should decide which operating system versions the app is supposed to work on. In order to handle the device challenge, you can consider using one of the three strategies: Only test using real devices Only test using emulated devices Using a combination of the above As we ve mentioned before, you want the emphasis to be on real devices and manual testing. It would be a good idea to focus first on some of the main devices in your category. For example, find out the most sold and used mobile devices that use Android, check which operating system version is currently popular and begin testing. For the devices, which are not as popular, you can use emulated devices as the main testing method. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Bike Lanes Dear Tom, I chose to address the problem of not having bike lanes at UNR because it is something that I see affects students everyday throughout campus. As not only a person who walks, but also rides throughout campus, I am able to see from both sides of the spectrum why this is a problem. Not only can it be a safety issue, but it is an inconvenience for anyone here at the University. I was able to identify the stakeholders because I am one. Anyone here at the University is a stakeholder because everyone on campus is affected by this problem. Many students, staff, and faculty are concerned with the safety and wellbeing throughout campus, so with this problem being a major inconvenience I was able to see how it may be concerning to some people. The most valuable sources of information I used when researching this problem was the physical field research, establishing a survey, and the archival research, meaning researching other schools and seeing how they handle or handled the situation. I was able to ask many students whether they see not having bike lanes as a problem and every single student I asked agreed. Although, it was a major problem being able to perform this field research. It takes time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 32. Compare And Contrast Langston Hughes And I Hear America... Langston Hughes wrote a poem that some believe is in response to a poem Walt Whitman made. Walt Whitman s poem I hear America Singing is basically a description of the people who made up America at the time. The mothers, the carpenters, the masons, the shoemakers, the wood cutters, etc, were all the different types of people that made up what America, said of the poem. With Langston Hughes s poem I, Too, Sing America , the poem is making a sort of claim that Hughes s and blacks alike also have a right to feel patriotic towards and be a part of America. Both poems are pretty similar to what they re subject is (America), but they are quite different when it comes to what exactly the two poems are mainly focusing on. Hughes s poem builds on top of Whitman s poem in more ways than one. Every single person with their described job in Whitman s poem was said to have been sung loud and strong as to what they were doing when working, meaning that they took pride in how they worked and what kind of work they did. With how there s so many types of people and jobs being talked about in Whitman s poem, you would think it would include the lives of blacks and how they have dealt with all the racism and stuff at the time (later on too). Hughes s poem is a type of add on to Whitman s poem in the way of including the whole of black people into the mix, with many lines in the poem stating things of which overall say that even if you re black you should still be allowed to partake in things and be in an area without any prejudice towards your skin color. Hughes s poem is more of an argument against that of the people (whites) back then who were prejudice against blacks. With the first couple of lines of I, Too, Sing America , the lines mean that even if he is sent to the kitchen when company comes, he ll still laugh and eat well and grow stronger from the experience, not really seeing it as if it were bad but more of a motivation to stop it from happening again. When coming to the lines of Tomorrow, I ll be at the table When company comes. • 33. The Lay Of Leithi Tolkien s Epic Fairy Tale The Lay of Leithian: Tolkien s Epic Fairy Tale Audry Hepburn once said, If I m honest I have to tell you I still read fairy tales, and I like them best of all. Often, a child s first introduction to literature begins with fairy tales and which tends to resonate with them years later. Fairy tales then become a story that is inspiring for children and nostalgic for adults. The fairy tale story varies in definition between critics, yet it is always a form of fantasy. J.R.R Tolkien s fantasy novels The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion follow clear structural patterns common among fairy tales. One story in particular, Of Beren and Lúthien found within The Silmarillion, was originally to be Tolkien s epic poem titled The Lay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While the Victorian era saw fairies as diminutive creatures and fantastical worlds or adventures, Tolkien s emphasis was on the mortal man. He writes in his essay, Faerie contains many things besides elves and fays, and besides dwarfs, witches, trolls, giants, or dragons: It holds the seas, the sun, the moon, the sky; and the earth, and all the things that are in it: tree and bird, water and stone, wine and bread, and ourselves, mortal men, when we are enchanted (On Fairy Stories 4). Tolkien thus believed that a fairy tale consisted of the entire world through an enchanted perspective, that even mortal men are enchanted in a fairy tale. Within Of Beren and Lúthien, the protagonist is Beren who is a man in love with Lúthien. Lúthien is the daughter of an Elf and a Maiar and is thus connected with the Valar, the angels of Middle Earth and based off of Germanic and Greek/Roman Gods. Their love is thus enchanted and Beren s quest to make Lúthien his is Heroic and full of enchantment. Tolkien also writes, Stories that are actually concerned primarily with faries, that is with creatures that might also in modern English be called elves, are relatively rare, and as a rule not very interesting. Most good fairy stories are about the adventures of men in the Perilous Realm or upon its shadowy marches (On Fairy Stories 4). Thus he stresses the importance of a fairy tale to emphasize the adventures of men and not focus completely on the lives of elves or fairies. • 37. Major Problems For The Livestock Industry Throughout The... Introduction Babesia parasites are obligate intraerythrocytic protozoa capable of invading a wide range of vertebrate hosts, subsequently leading to serious economic problems for the livestock industry throughout tropical and subtropical regions of the world (Homer et al., 2000; Uilenberg, 2006). Bovine babesiosis is mainly caused by two species of bovine intraerythrocytic protozoan parasites, Babesia bovis and Babesia bigemina. Infected animals in an acute stage have symptoms of fever, anemia, hemoglobinuria, and sometimes resulting in death. In contrast, those in chronic stages may become chronic carriers without clinical signs. Human and rodent babesiosis caused by Babesia microti has emerged as a life threatening zoonosis in the world (Kjemtrup and Conrad, 2000). Although infection usually is asymptomatic, immunocompromised and elder people develop mild to moderate fever, headache, body aches, fatigue, and anorexia. Importantly, B. microti has been used as an experimental model for studying novel chemotherapy (Aboulaila et al., 2012) and host immune responses, the understanding of which is a prerequisite for developing an effective vaccine against Babesia parasites (Yokoyama et al., 2003). Although several attempts have been made to develop a vaccine against babesiosis, no vaccine has yet proven to be completely effective in preventing Babesia infection. Attenuated live vaccines lead to significant decreases in mortality; however, they do not prevent the infection or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Injustices can be explained as something that is not to everybody s benefit, or simply something this is unfair. Going into this class, I did not know much about social justice or cities in general. After being in it for a short 3 weeks, I have learned a lot of new material and am excited to learn more. There are two things that immediately come to mind when I think about social justice in the real world. Education is one. Typically, people are more prone to go to college if their parents or siblings go to college. Going back to the topic of East Des Moines, East high school is not a school that is looked well upon. The teachers are underpaid and most of the students do not care about their education enough to go to class everyday. Knowing this, students from schools like that are less likely to go on to college and get an education. This then leads to them not getting good jobs and making enough money to support themselves. I believe that this is an injustice because those students do not choose to go to schools like that, but they get started off on the wrong foot right from the start. People look down on them because of the school they go to. The other thing I think about when I hear the word social justice is Racism. Segregation is something that most people don t think is still a problem, but unfortunately it is. They view segregation as an unfortunate holdover from a racist past, one that is fading progressively overtime (Massey 1).
