Chelsea Kierans created initial plans and mind maps for a project creating a fictional music artist. This included a mood board analysis noting repeated colors and styles from collected images conveying a mood ranging from depressing to romantic. An informal proposal outlined creating a song, music video, album cover, merchandise, posters, photoshoot, and radio interview for a primarily female artist. The needed materials included Photoshop, Premier, cameras, and voice/audio equipment. The target audience was defined as males and females aged 15 globally, appealing to those who are socially conscious. Two alternative project ideas of a film/documentary and fashion magazine were discounted due to lack of interest and understanding of the topics.
7. Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated
colours/images styles/fonts/tone/mood
• Yes, I have repeatedly picked the same colours within the images I
have collected. They seem bright but colours that are very ‘boyish’
in the respect that they’re greens and blues, or just dark colours.
This conveys a mood that can really be anything from depressing to
romantic.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
• I will have the font from harry styles tour poster, because I liked the
font, its simple and easy to read. I also like the pictures of louis
Tomlinson and how they were taken, and how they were focused,
but not as much as maybe other peoples would have been. I
admired this so I thought I will take pictures in a similar way.
8. Informal Proposal
Current Idea
Concept My idea is to make a music artist up, and make a song and music video, an album
cover, merchandise (including jumpers, t-shirts, hats and wristbands), I will also be
doing posters, a photoshoot and a radio interview. I plan on making an artist that
everyone will like and want to support. This artist will most likely be female, but the
decision is not fully made, as the music for the song is written already.
Type of
products you
would make
I would like to make posters and an album cover, I would also like to do a
photoshoot. I will also be doing a song, a music video and a radio interview.
What you will
need to make
them
I will need Photoshop, premier, computers, voice recorder and I have the things I
need at home to sort out the song. I will need a camera, to record the video and take
the pictures.
Audience My audience is males and females from the age of 15, this is aimed particularly at
English speaking people, as the songs will be in English. The psychographic for this is
balanced, as I want the audience to be socially conscious, yet like the fact that
humans will benefit
9. Choices
Discounted ideas Reasons for not choosing
this project
Film/ Documentary • I did not choose this project because it
just didn’t interest me as much as the
music artist one. I know that I wouldn’t
have have been into it as it doesn’t
really include anything I am completely
interested in. I also struggled to add to
my ideas and make sense of what I was
doing, as I don’t really understand
things about this museum and I am not
very academic.
Fashion Magazine • As much as I liked this idea, I couldn’t
expand on my ideas or understand what
I was trying to do. I like clothes but I
don’t know much about fashion, and
what is in fashion, or what is on the
catwalks. I just didn’t understand it as
much as I’d liked to have done.
