MOSHIACH IN THE PARSHA 
ื•ึทืขึฒื‘ึทื“ึฐืชึผึถื ืึตืช ื™ึฐื”ื•ึธื” ืึฑืœึนื”ึตื™ื›ึถื" )ืฉืžื•ืช ื›ื’, ื›ื”( 
This Posuk is the Makor in Torah for the Chiyuv to Daven; as 
we see from the Rambamโ€™s quote in his Psak, โ€œIt is a positive 
commandment to pray daily, as it says, โ€™And you shall serve 
Hashem your G-dโ€™. From the Oral Tradition we learn that this 
,โ€™ื•ืœืขื‘ื“ื• ื‘ื›ืœ ืœื‘ื‘ื›ืโ€˜ , Avodah refers to Davening, as the posuk says 
โ€˜And you shall serve Him with all your heartโ€™ and the Gemara 
explains, โ€˜what is the service of the heart? This is prayer.โ€™โ€ 
In the Gemara it says that, for the duration of Golus, Davening 
was instituted in place of the Korbanos. However, there is a 
fundamental difference between Korbanos and Davening; 
Korbanos were only allowed to be brought by Kohanim; Levim 
and Yisroelim could not perform that service. However, now, 
when every Jew is in Galus, anyone, whether he is a Kohen, a 
Levi, a Yisroel, or even a convert, is given the possibility and the 
Zechus to connect directly to Hashem and have all of his desires 
fulfilled; just the same as a Kohen serving on the Mizbayach. 
However, notwithstanding the fact that we have this 
opportunity in Galus, we still eagerly await and call for 
Moshiachโ€™s speedy coming, for then we will be able to connect 
to Hashem in the same way and also have the Korbanos!

ื›ืชื‘ ื™ื“ ืงื•ื“ืฉ 
Presented below, is a Ksav Yad which the Rebbe wrote for himself, as a reminder 
note of a subject which he wanted to address in the future. 
The Rebbe questions, how was it possible for the Yidden who lived in the times of 
Bar Kochva, to mistaken him as Moshiach, if they had not yet heard Eliyohu Hanavi 
announce the Geulahโ€™s arrival? 
The Rebbe then answers, that it is not clear from Chazal whether Eliyohu will come 
before Moshiachโ€™s first Hisgalus, or at a later stage. Therefore it was possible for 
the Yidden to believe that Bar Kochva was Moshiach, although Eliyohu had not yet 
come.

Matan Torah is compared to an 
engagement, between Hashem 
(the Chosson) and Yidden (the 
Kallah). However, during the time 
of Golus, when Hashemโ€™s presence 
is concealed, we are compared to 
an Agunah - a woman who her 
husband is missing, and awaits 
impatiently his return. So too, 
Yidden in Golus are to await 
impatiently for the Geulah. When 
Moshiach comes, there will be 
the โ€˜โ€™marriageโ€™โ€™, between us and 
Hashem, and our connection will 
be eternal.

An early Chossid once told over: When Moshiach will come and the Avos and the Shevotim, Moshe and Aharon, the Neviim, 
the Tanaim, the Amoraim, the Geonim, and all of the Tzadikim of the previous generations will arise for Techias Hameisim, they 
will rejoice with the simple Yidden. 
For the first dance, Moshe will go out with these Yidden. And, in a heartfelt and true dance, Dovid Hamelech will go out with those 
Yidden that say Tehillim!

The story goes about a certain Rosh Yeshiva who woke up in the morning perturbed by a petrifying nightmare 
he had while asleep. The worst of all was that he couldn't even share it with others and thereby get consolation and 
advice, it was just too terrible to repeat. 
After much coaxing he was convinced to relay the scene to his wife. He ecked and becked, then finally, in a stutter, reveals 
the secret: he dreamt that Hashem had passed away. His wife thought the reason was simply because he had entertained such 
thoughts during the day, but he was adamant, "I haven't thought about Hashem for twenty years"! 
How could it be that for one Yid it is obvious that Moshiach could come any second, based on clear-cut Halochos in 
Rambam such as that with only one good deed one brings salvation to himself and the entire world, whereas to another Yid 
the mere idea of Moshiach's imminent arrival seems absolutely ridicules. 
Very simple: he didn't think about this concept, in a real way, for twenty years (or however many it may be). The solution: 
start thinking! 
You're right, Yidden cannot be redeemed unless they do Teshuvah. No worries though, in this sicha the Rebbe seems to 
believe that a simple Cheshbon Hanefesh with the above conclusion would suffice to arouse someone to sincere Teshuvah.

From the Oral Tradition we learn that this ,โ€™ื•ืœืขื‘ื“ื• ื‘ื›ืœ ืœื‘ื‘ื›ืโ€˜ , Avodah refers to Davening, as the posuk says โ€˜And you shall serve Him with all your heartโ€™ and the Gemara explains, โ€˜what is the service of the heart? This is prayer.โ€™โ€ In the Gemara it says that, for the duration of Golus, Davening was instituted in place of the Korbanos. However, there is a fundamental difference between Korbanos and Davening; Korbanos were only allowed to be brought by Kohanim; Levim and Yisroelim could not perform that service. However, now, when every Jew is in Galus, anyone, whether he is a Kohen, a Levi, a Yisroel, or even a convert, is given the possibility and the Zechus to connect directly to Hashem and have all of his desires fulfilled; just the same as a Kohen serving on the Mizbayach. However, notwithstanding the fact that we have this opportunity in Galus, we still eagerly await and call for Moshiachโ€™s speedy coming, for then we will be able to connect to Hashem in the same way and also have the Korbanos! " ื›ืชื‘ ื™ื“ ืงื•ื“ืฉ Presented below, is a Ksav Yad which the Rebbe wrote for himself, as a reminder note of a subject which he wanted to address in the future. The Rebbe questions, how was it possible for the Yidden who lived in the times of Bar Kochva, to mistaken him as Moshiach, if they had not yet heard Eliyohu Hanavi announce the Geulahโ€™s arrival? The Rebbe then answers, that it is not clear from Chazal whether Eliyohu will come before Moshiachโ€™s first Hisgalus, or at a later stage. Therefore it was possible for the Yidden to believe that Bar Kochva was Moshiach, although Eliyohu had not yet come. )Based on Likkutei Sichos Vol. 25( Matan Torah is compared to an engagement, between Hashem (the Chosson) and Yidden (the Kallah). However, during the time of Golus, when Hashemโ€™s presence is concealed, we are compared to an Agunah - a woman who her husband is missing, and awaits impatiently his return. So too, Yidden in Golus are to await impatiently for the Geulah. When Moshiach comes, there will be the โ€˜โ€™marriageโ€™โ€™, between us and Hashem, and our connection will be eternal. DIDYOUKNOW LIVING LESSONS An early Chossid once told over: When Moshiach will come and the Avos and the Shevotim, Moshe and Aharon, the Neviim, the Tanaim, the Amoraim, the Geonim, and all of the Tzadikim of the previous generations will arise for Techias Hameisim, they will rejoice with the simple Yidden. For the first dance, Moshe will go out with these Yidden. And, in a heartfelt and true dance, Dovid Hamelech will go out with those Yidden that say Tehillim!

The worst of all was that he couldn't even share it with others and thereby get consolation and advice, it was just too terrible to repeat. After much coaxing he was convinced to relay the scene to his wife. He ecked and becked, then finally, in a stutter, reveals the secret: he dreamt that Hashem had passed away. His wife thought the reason was simply because he had entertained such thoughts during the day, but he was adamant, "I haven't thought about Hashem for twenty years"! How could it be that for one Yid it is obvious that Moshiach could come any second, based on clear-cut Halochos in Rambam such as that with only one good deed one brings salvation to himself and the entire world, whereas to another Yid the mere idea of Moshiach's imminent arrival seems absolutely ridicules. Very simple: he didn't think about this concept, in a real way, for twenty years (or however many it may be). The solution: start thinking! You're right, Yidden cannot be redeemed unless they do Teshuvah.
