MOSHIACH IN THE PARSHA
Parshas Naso speaks of the halachos of a Nazir. A Nazir
is one who dedicates himself to Hashem. He attains a high
level of kedusha through accepting upon himself extra
restrictions which purify him. These restrictions include
never drinking wine or other alcohol, never cutting his
hair and never becoming tamei from a dead body.
The Nazir has two distinctions which correspond to
the two meanings of the word Nazir. The first distinction
is the Nazir’s separation from worldly things which fits
with Nazir meaning separation. The second distinction is
the special kedusha which the Nazir attains through his
separating from the world. This fits with the definition
of Nazir as crown (in the context of the Tzitz which was
worn by the Kohen Gadol).
However, separating oneself from worldy inyonim is
only the way for one to attain a higher level of kedusha
and purity now, in Golus. When Moshiach comes,
however, it will work differently. Regarding the Geulah
it is written in novi that Hashem will make all Yidden
כֹּל יְמֵי נִזְרוֹ קָדֹשׁ הוּא לַיהוָה" )במדבר ו, ח(

nezirim. Hashem will bestow on every Yid a higher level
of kedusha, not only the level that a Nazir can attain now,
but a much greater level of kedusha. This higher level
of kedusha will not require separating oneself from the
world. This kedusha will have such an effect on us to the
extent that there will no longer be a possibility of worldly
matters interfering with our Avodas Hashem. They will
not have any negative effect on us. This is the ultimate
nezirus. We will no longer need to avoid worldly things
as they will assist us in better serving Hashem.
Instead, we will be able to serve Hashem while
living with abundance in this world. This is why when
Moshiach comes we will experience, on the one hand,
v'chol ma'adanim mitzuim k'afar - all delicacies will be as
abundant as dust, and simultaneously the world will not
have pursuits or interests other than knowing Hashem
(as the Rambam writes regarding the Geulah). May we
experience this immediately!

LIVING LESSONS
On Shabbos Parshas Naso 5720 (1960), the Rebbe related the following story:
In the year 5701 (1941), the Frierdiker Rebbe made a big shturem about publicizing the
motto of “l'alter l'tshuvah – l'alter l'geulah.” At this time, there were Chassidim who said and
publicized that the Frierdiker Rebbe is Moshiach himself.
Hearing this, a non-Lubavitch Chossid went to his Rebbe and asked him if he heard what the
Lubavitchers are saying.
His Rebbe replied, “We both know that I am not Moshiach. We also both know that you are
not Moshiach. So why then does it bother you that the Lubavitchers believe their Rebbe is
Moshiach?!”

2. דאלאי גלות
On the Shabbos afternoon of Parshas Naso 5751 (1991), at around 8:00pm, the Rebbe surprised the crowd in 770 by appearing for a
surprise second Farbrengen. The Rebbe walked in without his mazkirus, wearing slippers and holding a k'vort of water and a towel.
With his Siddur under his arm, the Rebbe turned towards his davening bimah at the mizrach wall.
The Rebbe wanted to wash, and the shocked crowd quickly recovered and brought a bowl for the Rebbe to wash his hands, as well as some
Challah. The Rebbe sat down on his chair facing the Shul.

וענין זה מודגש ביותר וביותר בשנה זו - שנת
ה׳תנש"א, שסימנה מרומז בפסוק ״תנשא מלכותו״
)דקאי על דוד ושלמה שמלך המשיח הוא מזרעם( בכל
העולם כולו, והראשי תיבות שלה ״הי׳ תהי׳ שנת אראנו
נפלאות״, ״כימי צאתך מארץ מצרים אראנו נפלאות״ -
מתחיל מה״נפלאות״ שכבר ראו )נוסף על אלה שיראו
בעתיד, ״אראנו״( בפועל ובגלוי לעיני כל העמים בשנה
זו, שבהם נתקיימו דברי הילקוט שמעוני:
״שנה שמלך המשיח נגלה בו כל מלכיות אומות העולם
מתגרים זה בזה, מלך פרס כו׳ מלך ערבי כו', ואומר להם
)הקב״ה לישראל( בני אל תתיראו, כל מה שעשיתי לא
עשיתי אלא בשבילכם . . הגיע זמן גאולתכם״, ומאז
)ובפרט בחודש ניסן, חודש הגאולה( עומדים כבר ״בשעה
שמלך המשיח בא )״הנה זה בא״( . . ומשמיע להם
לישראל ואומר ענוים הגיע זמן גאולתכם״.
ובפרט בעמדנו בזמן מתן תורה וימי התשלומין שלו,
כדאיתא בספרים בהרמז במארז״ל ״הכל מודים בעצרת
דבעינן נמי לכם״, ש״עצרת . . הוא הזמן המוכשר לעת
רצון להתפלל לקרב קץ הגאולה . . דבעינן לשון אם
תבעיון בעו, והוא לשון תפלה ובקשה, נמי לכם גימטריא
קץ, היינו, שאז זמן המוכשר להתפלל שיתקרב קץ
הגאולה, ״קץ הימים״ ו״קץ הימין״, ובעמדנו בשבת
שלאחרי ה״קץ״ דעצרת, שבת פרשת נשא, ״נשא״ )ר״ת
שנת אראנו נפלאות( שב״תנשא״ - ה״ז הזמן הכי מוכשר
להחידוש ד״תורה חדשה מאתי תצא", ו״השמים החדשים
והארץ החדשה אשר אני עושה״ - לא רק בלשון עתיד,
אלא בלשון הוה, ועד שברגע שלאחרי זה נעשה כבר
בלשון עבר, כיון ש״הנה זה בא״, וכבר בא.

An elderly Chossid once submitted a question to the Rebbe asking the following: Since the Rebbe knows if he will merit to live
another year, should he buy the Mitzvos which he would regularly buy. The Rebbe replied:
