2. Production reflections
• This proforma is to record how you worked on your production
• You should complete this each week during production
• Consider all relevant areas that you covered that week
• Think about what worked/what didn’t work/how you can improve
and actions for the following sessions/weeks
3. Process – week 1
• The first week I started and
completed my initial plans, where I
had to go through a few different
ideas of what I wanted to create,
with me eventually settling on
creating a video that uses a specific
colour style. I also went on to have a
somewhat decent idea of what the
video will consist of. I also decided
on what song I will use. A strength
of this is that I have a general idea
of what I am going to create.
4. Process – week 2
• This week I started working on my
research PowerPoint and my
proposal document. In my
research I analysed a couple music
videos, which gave me a decent
idea of what makes a music video
and what conventions are present
within them. My proposal also
gave me a better idea of what
type of video I’m going to make,
i.e. what will appeal to my
audience and what my concept is.
5. Process – week 3
• This week I finished my pre-
production and towards the end of
the week I started and completed
principal photography. I spent a
majority of the week finishing my
proposal and pre-production, I felt
like my pre-production was a little
bit difficult to complete as I had to
create a storyboard and shot list,
something I hadn’t done before –
which was a good piece of
experience to have. I’d say creating
my storyboard/shot—list was a
strength as it gave me a better
perception of the work that goes
into a project before it is filmed.
6. Process – week 4
• I started to lay out and begin to sequentially
place all the shots where they needed to be on
the first day and as the week went on I added
the colours and visual effects. As you can see to
the left the step-by-step process of how I
created a specific shot. I started to edit at the
beginning of the week and was done by Friday. I
think the fact that I completed my work was a
positive and perhaps a weakness could’ve been
that at times it felt like I was working by
numbers and was working on it because I had
to.
7. Process – week 5
• This week I spent finishing my
evaluation, which took three
days to complete, the last day
being spent checking if I
missed anything and double-
checked my work. I also started
work on planning my next
project. It was a definite slog to
finish the evaluation but it’s
done so I don’t have to look at
it anymore, thankfully.
