Question 7 – Looking back at your
preliminary task, what do you feel you have
learnt in the progression from it to the full
product?
4. What I have learnt
From my preliminary task I learnt that I needed to take more of the
space up on my front cover so that it doesn't look unfinished/empty
like it did on my preliminary cover.
I also leant that I needed to use a font that was clearer for my
audience to read.
As well as a lot of empty space on my front cover there was also a lot
of empty space on my contents page so from this I learnt that I need
to fill more of the space in my final piece which is what I did.
In my preliminary task I had not had much experience with
photoshop so some of my images were edited badly so for my final
magazine I improved these skills and cut my images and edited my
images better.
The composition of my images and the quality of them on my
preliminary task so on my final piece I made sure that the
composition of my images was right and that the images were a
better quality.
5. When I got feedback from my draft magazine people said that my
image was cut out badly so I went on YouTube and watched videos
on how to cut out images well so that my real magazine looked
better.
In my feedback people also said that there wasn’t enough brand
identity on my contents page so in my final contents page I added
the masthead/name of the magazine ‘Stage’ so that it was clear the
contents was from the same magazine.
