This document summarizes Joshua Blakeley's evaluation of a production process project. 3. Research
• Strengths
– I got to experiment with different styles of research.
– I got to see peoples’ different opinions of certain topics. (Photography)
– I got to learn about different research techniques.
• Weaknesses
– It took time to get results for the specific styles of research. (Surveys)
– The results weren’t exactly what I was looking for.
– Each type of research takes time to create and use later in the project.
• How could I do better next time?
– I feel next time I would put a lot more effort into my work and use my time effectively as
during this project I got stuck for a week and did practically nothing for that amount of
time. I also left something very last minute, like the final product.
– Make sure I'm on top of my work so I don’t get swamped with work to do all at once and
make sure that I constantly backup my work. Also make sure my work is up to a good
standard.

4. Planning
• Strengths:
– It gave me a real idea on what I wanted to do with my work.
– I got to experience something new, which can sometimes be a challenge.
– I got to learn about different planning styles.
• Weaknesses:
– Each planning process had to be used differently.
– It was hard to come up with points of the 3 ideas, and the 3 ideas itself.
– Each idea had to be completely different.
– Each idea had to have a significant amount of ideas around them.
• What could I do better next time?
• Next time I could go into the work with more knowledge with ideas and
different types of planning rather than just sticking with mind maps, and
actually experimenting with different styles of planning.

5. Time Management
• Did I manage my time well?
– No I didn’t. When I made the timetable for the final production I didn’t use it
at all due to not having the equipment, but also I left it very last second.
• Did I complete the project on time?
– Yes I did. I came in to college on a study day and completely finished the
production part of the project, which made this easier because I got into gear
and knuckled down.
• Would my product improve with more time?
– No because I did most of my work very last second, I reckon that if I really
focused I could have made it better but I don’t think I needed additional time.
– Also I think that I could have improved my work with additional time but I rally
think I should have actually done the work.

6. Technical Qualities
• Similarities:
• Both pages include edited
photos, that are originals.
• Each page has a
minimalistic design behind
it.
• The fonts are relatively
similar.
• Differences:
• The colour scheme is a polar
opposite.
• My page includes text to
back the photos while the
one on the left just shows
photos.
• The master head is in
different places.

7. Aesthetic Qualities
• Does my work look good?
– In my opinion I think it’s a very good standard and I believe I did the work to the
best of my ability.
• Strengths
– One strength is that I can take away other ideas to apply in different projects.
– Its appealing for people to appreciate.
• Weaknesses
– It takes a lot of time to come up with solid ideas, for colour schemes etc.
– It took time to collect each shot, and make it perfect for the ideas I came up with.
The positioning of the photos is in a
good place because it gives room for
people to see the original and the
after edit, while reading the text to go
with it.

8. Audience Appeal
• How have you appealed to your target audience?
– My target audience was pretty much anyone because it doesn’t matter
about who you are to enjoy photography.
– I made sure that people got to see what bokeh photography is
because people always just call it ‘The Blurry One’, which shouldn’t
stand as it is a very frequent style of photography.

• What did you like about the product?
– I like the Bokeh part of the portfolio as I didn’t
know the name of that style of picture. It brings
up that people call it “That blurry one” and I
found that amusing
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– I think the last photo could have been improved
by using a local area or maybe the Minster.

• What did you like about the product?
– It was different from other photography and this
made it interesting, they were carefully taken and
the outcome was beautiful.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– As it is something different, you could make the
pictures look a little more abstract or take pictures
of more different things to make it even more
interesting than it already is.

• What did you like about the product?
– I liked how you showed the before and after of the
photos you took to show your editing skills. I also
liked that the photography was different to other
photography making it unique.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Because it has a lot of writing to it, maybe adding
more photos to it to give more of content.

• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I agree that I should have added more content,
which would have made it better because the
more content the better.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– I disagree that there was too much writing
because the writing went into depth for each
photo and the reasoning/motive behind it.

• What changes would I make to my product
based upon peer feedback & why?
– I think I would definitely use more photos, as in
the minimalist page, I had many more photos I
could have used, but the opportunity never
happened because I think that there being more
content the works standard would have increased
as there would be more to see and more to
create.
