3. Which specific production tasks have you
enjoyed most this year?
• I have enjoyed many aspects of production tasks this year however there are a few
tasks I have enjoyed better than others. One of these tasks is the editing of the
film posters. The reason I enjoyed this part of production the most is simply
because I learnt the most out of using adobe photoshop and learnt many skills
using the software. Another specific production task I have enjoyed the most this
year is creating some frame by frame animations for the video game task. I enjoyed
this bit of production because I picked it up very easily and felt as if I was
quite creative in creating different scenes.
4. What challenges have you faced this
year in your practical work?
• Some challenges I have faced this year in terms of practical work is trying to
come up with an idea I am completely happy with. What I mean by this is during
the start of each project it takes me a while to think of a good idea for that
specific task and then further on into that same project I might come across
something else and change my idea entirely which does take up quite a bit of
time. I responded to this by researching a wide variety of things before I fully
made my mind up on a final thing.
5. Which process do you think you have
made the most development in?
• I 100% think I've made the most development in editing certain things on
different software’s. I feel I've developed a fair amount because of the fact
that when I first started the course I had very little experience in terms of
editing and then were nearly at the end of the year and I've learnt many new
skills and techniques when it comes to editing pictures and creating different
things.
6. Which technical skill do you think is you
strongest?
• A technical skill I think is the strongest would definitely be the editing and
maybe elements of photo manipulation. An example that shows my strength in
editing is when we created the movie posters as when I was creating the posters I
learnt many new skills which I have used in further work on editing software.
7. What do you think has been your best
project and why?
• I think my best project would have to be the adventure project and the audio
project. The reason I think these two projects were the best for me was because
of the fact that I liked doing the research tasks for both of them as movies
especially adventure style and horror themed are a few of my favourite. Another
thing I enjoyed about the projects was that they were both extremely fun to make
as it was a new thing to me and I enjoyed learning different techniques when it
came to it.
8. Which project did you enjoy least and
why?
• The project I enjoyed the least was the music video. The reason I didn’t enjoy
the music video project compared to the others was because of the fact that it
took to much planning and scheduling to make sure everyone was available for
certain days of when I wanted to film for the video. Another thing I didn’t enjoy
about the music video was the fact that I didn’t manage my time well when it came
to planning things I needed for example id leave it a little to late to ask
people whether they were free on that day
9. How have you managed your time
effectively this year?
• I haven’t managed my time that effectively this year. I think that I could have
handled my time better when it came to the planning section of projects as
sometimes I would leave it till the last minute to come up with an idea that I
was happy with. Hopefully in the future I can manage my time even better than
what I have done this year.
11. What roles/specialism do you see
yourself working in on future projects?
• Some roles that I see myself working in on future projects is definitely
photography and different elements of that. Another thing I would see myself
specialising in is documentary's and potentially making one as that’s what I'm
massively interested in.
12. What do you see yourself doing at the
end of the course next year?
• At the end of the course next year I see myself hopefully going off to university
to study some form of media I have looked at a few universities around England
and most of them offer some sort of media course so I have quite a large choice
of options to choose from.
13. What research do you need to do in order to
explore your future progression options?
• Some research that I need to do in order to explore my future progression options
is definitely look at universities and which ones appeal to me and also see
whether they have any course that has elements of media to it. Then after that
look to see if there are any job experience placements in any departments of film
and things like that.
Editor's Notes
Consider 2-3 specific practical parts of your work this year [e.g. filming or editing, etc] and discuss why these have been your favoured parts of the course so far
Think about the work that has been most challenging this year [try and be specific when talking about tasks] and how you responded to it?
A process would be research or planning or time management, it could be a combination. Talk about what it is, how you feel you’ve developed and where this was most evident in the year
This is a technical skill like filming, editing, photo manipulation, designing adverts or using Photoshop – think of an example that shows your strength
This is looking at how you see yourself specialising as we move into the FMP and into Year 2
